We’re a day away from Scarleteens 4th digital pride celebration! On Friday, June 28th, from 9am-9pm, we’ll be hosting a day jam-packed with Queer Care and connection! Join us for AMAs, mini-histories, and a kick-butt mixtape, with the bonus of celebrating our 25th birthday!
We’re also inviting anyone who’s curious to come by any of our real-time direct services — our boards, text service and live chat — on the 28th, too. Our message boards and text line are always open 24/7, but for Pride, our live chat service will also be open and available all day long!
We can’t wait to see you there!🏳️🌈💕

Why no pride month in the post-apocalyptic world ☹️ /gen it's not real, you can do whatever you want! /hj
You know, my thing is that there are no real holidays or observations in their world because, well, survival is what it's all about. Society has dissolved and things like that are just gone.
BUT...
I also HC that Zoe is obsessed with honoring "old world" traditions because it connects her to the past, which includes her dads, who were gay. So... after they get Olympus settled (don't forget, the solstice was in the month of June...), they can have a PRIDE celebration the following year.
I imagine Olympus will be kind of like "Jackson" in The Last of Us. A little slice of as much heaven as you're going to get in that world, so sure, they can have a pride celebration. :)
Thanks for this feedback Nonny.

When people talk about resistance, they're often envisioning a protest or a march. But resistance is so much more than that; it happens in big ways, and little ones, every day. It's an action we choose to take over and over, (and over and over and over) again in the pursuit of a more just world. Which is why, for our digital Pride celebration this year, we’re highlighting the diversity of forms queer resistance can take. Because while marches and protests are incredibly important, resistance looks so many other ways. It looks like making art, like creating spaces where we can be safe and seen as our whole selves. It looks like sharing and preserving queer history. Like continuing to celebrate our past, present, and future in the face of increasing hostility and bigotry. Like embracing our joy when some people would rather we stay miserable and invisible.
So join us tomorrow, June 30th, for interviews, drag queen story time, and more as we close out Pride month with a celebration of queer resistance!
