"Sufjan Stevens Announces Carrie & Lowell - 10th Anniversary Edition – Out May 30
This May, Asthmatic Kitty Records celebrates the ten-year anniversary of Carrie & Lowell with an expanded double-LP album that includes seven previously unreleased bonus tracks, a 40-page art book, and a new essay by Sufjan Stevens. The deluxe edition also offers an alternative cover: a full-framed version of the original Polaroid zoomed out to reveal the photo’s caption written in a child’s handwriting—“Carrie & Lowell”—disclosing the source of the album title (it was written by Sufjan's sister Djamilah). The new edition was designed by Sufjan himself: the 40-page booklet contains various collages of vintage family photos spanning four generations interfused with artwork and drawings (on themes of death, dying, grief and the state of Oregon) as well as landscape photos Sufjan took while traveling across the western U.S. over a decade ago.
The original album is preserved on disc one, while disc two contains 40 minutes of extras, including demo versions of "Death With Dignity," "Should Have Known Better," "The Only Thing," and "Eugene". Expansive outtakes of "Fourth of July" and "Wallowa Lake Monster" are also included, both featuring a more cinematic mood. The final gem is the original demo of "Mystery of Love”, which was recorded around the same time as Carrie & Lowell. This song was scrapped for the album but later re-worked and re-recorded for Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name.
Carrie & Lowell was the result of an immensely difficult process in which Sufjan’s songwriting – usually a salve – failed him in the wake of his mother’s death. He was eventually led out of a cycle of creative doubt with a rare handover of production duties to Thomas Bartlett. In wrestling with darkness and devastation, life and death, Sufjan was eventually able to begin making sense of the beauty and ugliness of love.
Sufjan toured the album and personally connected his findings with his listeners, a beautiful hand-over of sorts happened - making these songs those of the listeners and their lives and losses and complexities.Since the album’s release the live tour was turned into a live album, so surprisingly celebratory and cathartic as to become something else entirely. Outtakes, remixes, and iPhone notes have been shared via Sufjan’s The Greatest Gift mixtape as well as a collection of “Fourth of July” versions that took one moment from the album and explored its every crevice.
Ten years on, this anniversary edition does things differently to those other treasures. Rather than deconstructing the album or building on it and continuing its legacy, this edition takes the listener back to the moments leading up to and including its release. Carrie & Lowell is presented in its full form once again, alongside a glimpse of the different roads it could have taken. There are new corners to explore, photographic realising of moments previously only lyrically painted, direct reflection from the album’s creator, subtly different weight on certain syllables that speak to Sufjan’s mind right before he shared it with the world.
Carrie & Lowell -10th Anniversary Edition Tracklist

Carrie & Lowell - 10th Anniversary Edition is now available to pre-order / pre-save here. All pre-orders will include a lyric postcard featuring artwork designed by Sufjan.
“Mystery of Love” may be widely known from the film Call Me By Your Name, but it began as an early demo during the Carrie & Lowell era. Now released as the first single from Carrie & Lowell – 10th Anniversary Edition, this version presents the song in its original, intimate form.
Video directed and produced by Rena Johnson. Original artwork and select photos by Sufjan Stevens. Archival photos and 8mm film provided by Sufjan Stevens and additional assets provided by Rena Johnson.
Ten years of 'Carrie & Lowell'. Explore the full story in our new comprehensive archive, featuring 'Carrie & Lowell 'and its six companion releases. Photos, video, essays and other materials, gathered in one place for the first time.

LATE NIGHT WHEN YOU NEED MY LOVE | l. heeseung

୨୧ -› when the distance is long and the fondness too great, you ask your boyfriend, heeseung, for a simple favor.
pair -› idol!heeseung x idol!reader | trope -› established relationship | wc -› 480 | library
you’re lucky he’s on tour not so far away from you, and when he comes back from tonight’s concert, he’s exhausted. while your group was working on recording songs for your upcoming comeback, heeseung had been touring the world with his members, and during your free time, you calculated the best times to call each other, even if it wasn’t every night.
one ring. two rings. “hi, baby,” you murmur, smiling unknowingly when you hear him pick up.
“hello my love.” heeseung finds his heart pounding, as if it were the first time he met you again. “how was your day?”
and you tell him all about the vocal training, about how you love your new song and your concept, and about how some of the photos you took in the studio might be your best ones yet, and how you’d show him when you get the chance.
he chuckles, feeling sleep drag him down as he changes and gets ready for bed. “you’re always beautiful, angel. i’m excited to see them when they come out.” you feel heat rise to your face, never not flattered by your boyfriend’s kind words.
“and you, love? how was the tour?” you can hear the tiredness in his voice, and hope that he catches enough sleep tonight.
“our stop was so energetic,” he gushes, slipping into bed as he tells you all about the fanbase he adores so much. “i was so happy to perform, they always seem to love our songs, but i’m also glad to talk to you now.” and you continue to talk to him about the little things, feeling yourself also grow sleepy as the phone counts minutes upon minutes of your call.
“sleep, baby.” he says, turning over. his heart melts when you whine about wanting to stay on the phone with him longer, until he forces you to tell him about how your schedule looks for tomorrow. “shhh, how could i help from all the way over here, hm?” he responds, laughing quietly when you ask for the impossible task of him showing up to cuddle you to sleep.
“sing for me, yeah?” you ask, a honey-sweet feeling in your voice, and heeseung can’t deny you.
he sings quiet enough to not disturb the other members who are minding their own business before bed, and you feel yourself slipping into dreamland when he starts to sing the unreleased ballad he wrote himself, as well as a few others that ENHYPEN had previously released.
and when the line goes quiet, heeseung smiles to himself, his chest filling with care for you. and although you are hundreds of miles away from each other, he sends his love, even if it’s through the line.

have you seen the monkey man directors cut? i bought the blu ray when it was released and it contained an alternative opening/ending and deleted/extended scenes. (which def seemed the be the ones they cut to try to get it shown in India) idk if anyone has posted them online yet or anything. but i definitely wanted to hear your takes on the previously unreleased scenes
hey! my copy arrived yesterday and I just watched them. honestly not a fan of the alternate opening, it takes a lot of mystery out of the kid's identity. the closing is just the same montage edited a bit differently through the ruins of the club, I prefer the theatrical edit better.
the deleted/extended scenes were SO much more political and explicitly critical of the bjp. the vagueness of Universal/monkey paw's final cut has always frustrated me, so it's good to confirm that dev did originally intend to go even more in on hindutva fascism, islamophobia, and more voice to the hijra experiences. the death in police custody scene hurt a LOT. I also noticed there was a bit more sexual violence, which doesn't change much for me really.
sorry I just took photos of my tv as I was watching bc I got the 4k and I don't have a drive for my computer that can read it (so I can't rip it to make gifs... Sad!!) but this scene had me screeching:

god I wish they hadn't been such cowards and just let dev put his movie out without sacrificing something so powerful.
I'll watch it with directors commentary sometime soon.

GOLDEN DISK AWARDS; SOLOIST
Himari steals hearts at GDA with a seductive performance

January 7, 2024 (7:29PM)
The Golden Disk Awards became the very first award show to invite Himari as a solo performer on January 5, naming her 'Best Producer' later that night following a beautiful yet unexpected stage. With the somewhat recent release of the maknae's extended play 'Insomniac', attendees expected to hear the heart breaking title track 'Paranoia' and were surprised when an unreleased song now known under the name 'Blinded Red'.
The vocalist has long been known for working with heavy topics when it comes to personal projects and ATEEZ themselves deal with more powerful energy during their performances, so this darker sensual concept was very new to Atiny yet received with endless compliments - even from completely separate fandoms. In contrast to the usual choreographies these movements were somewhat languid and heavily focused on the way every single muscle shifted in accordance with the music, using snake-like motions to truly lure people into her siren voice.
While Himari is not usually completely covered when on stage with the other members, the outfit highlighting her curves very similar to the one used on the cover photos for 'Addict' is not something that fans had previously seen on stage. It seems that after creating voices for many other artists, the maknae is slowly finding her own and attempting to shift away from the 'cute' narrative that comes with her position as youngest of the group to transition into slightly more mature concepts.
This invitation also sparked questions concerning the true nature of the relationship between Seventeen's Mingyu and the maknae, as fancams have caught him watching her stage with what netizens have collectively described to be an enamored gaze. Despite never divulging that they knew each other the artists seemed to share very friendly moments whilst sitting next to one another, ranging from simple whispers to the rapper offering his hand to steady the young woman as she stood to accept her award.
Whether the many speculations circulating through social media are factual or simply the product of overactive imaginations, one thing everyone can agree on is that this phenomenal stage will engrave itself in the award show's history - having already exceeded 1.5M views. Himari's new solo career is surely something to be watched closely as this talented producer has much more than unique sounds up her sleeve.

As we’ve traveled through the many old band websites in our archiving journeys, we’ve seen some crazy stuff. Nothing compares to the Audreys, however.
To give a brief explanation: Patterson was a band Patrick Stump was in right before joining Fall Out Boy. On their website, listed under Patrick’s name, were the bands he was previously in. One that caught our interest was “The Audreys.” The description even noted “No idea what happened to that band…” We were immediately hooked, and ran down into an endless rabbit hole.
The Audreys was a band founded by David Safran and Ari Wiznitzer. Ari worked at Borders at the time, and yes, he has to do with the mythical story of how Patrick and Joe met, but you’ll have to stay tuned for more on that. Ari and David proposed the band idea to Patrick, and he joined them on the drums and guitar. Unfortunately, there’s no recording of this; Patrick was in the band for about only two months before he never returned to the practice space, leaving his entire drum set behind. However, this single picture of him taken during practice was lovingly gifted to the team by David himself. (There were more at some point, but sadly David doesn’t have them anymore.)
Although Fall Out Boy is our specialty- and Patrick’s involvement ends there -the more we learned about the Audreys, the more we knew we had to document this insane band. This was a band primed for success that suddenly faded out of existence, its band members only meeting up once again twenty years later on the Lumpen Radio. However, even more intriguing is that Ivan Julian, the producer of the first Audreys EP that went unreleased, has continued to play and release Audreys songs under his own name, and they are now “downtown hits.” For twenty years, these songs have been playing on the radio, with nobody knowing the truth about their origins. The story of the Audreys is packed with so much mystery and drama that we had to know more.
David Safran was kind enough to do a wonderful and enlightening interview with us, which we are in the process of transcribing. Also David was also kind enough to give us never-before-seen photos (including this patrick photo) from very early days of The Audreys. the interview will be posted on our website soon, so be on the lookout for the full Audreys story, and more details about Patrick’s involvement.

""Where can I find the official version of a BTS video that I've seen around?"": BangtanTV Playlists
Did you ever see a piece of footage over and over but never knew where to find the complete, official, original material?
A lot of official content can be found in the same place on BTS's official YouTube Channel, BangtanTV. BigHit has been publishing material there since the beginning of BTS's career. They even post every BTS album, song, and music video by the group and each member.
Yes, they have monetized it to earn money from the views (And why shouldn't they?), but in exchange, they offer a world of free audio and video files that I personally have never seen any artist do.
We were and are able to see pre-debut footage, debut footage, and footage as their career grew: the good, the bad, and the cringy. They spoke directly to us in simple vlogs prior to VLives continuing currently in WeLives (WeVerse). They showed and still show us behind the scenes material from backstage, practices, photoshoots, etc. They filmed Festa conversations and celebrations, as well as took us on trips and other adventures with them.
Q: Where can I find all of this original content, directly from BigHit and BTS, in order to avoid possible misleading editing and to give them credit for their work?
A: You can find a good amount of it - for both group and solo work - under the “Playlists” tab on BigHit’s BangtanTV official YouTube channel. Once you click the Playlists tab, you will see over 80 folders, which were created to attempt to organize the thousands of videos.
EXAMPLES OF PLAYLISTS FOLDERS
BANGTAN BOMB
You’ve heard of Bangtan Bombs, right? Did you know that Bangtan Bombs include clips of BTS backstage moments, hotel time, performances, photo shoots, video reactions, and much more?
Notice there are 858 Bangtan Bombs on this playlist. To see them all, you need to click “View Full Playlist” instead of just clicking the thumbnail. TIP: Turn on closed caption (CC) for translations for most items.
Links 1, 2, 3, 4
BTS FESTA
Did you know that all Festa events (anniversary celebrations) are contained in the Festa folder in the Playlists tab? Even though there have only been 11 Festas, there are 112 videos because the Festa playlist contains all the Festa performances, fan songs, conversations, and specially-released dance practice videos or other previously-unreleased items posted as gifts to fans during the Festa time period.
Links 1, 2, 3
BANGTAN LOG
Did you know that since the start of their career, BTS has been talking directly to fans though cameras? RM (formerly known as Rap Monster), as their leader, led the way in the very first Bangtan Log in 2013 - before their debut (starting at the bottom of the playlist). Some Lives were later done on other platforms and are not posted here, but most current Lives can now be found on the Weverse official platform. However, a few have been done on other unofficial sites (I’m looking at you, JK.), like TikTok, which may not be saved on official pages. Fortunately, most can be found here and on the WeVerse platform. (Note: The members' names were sometimes written in Korean.)
Links 1, 2, 3, 4
BTS PRACTICE VIDEOS
Did you know that almost all released dance practice videos can be found in this folder under the Playlists tab on BangtanTV? I say “almost all” because BigHit tried to organize this for your convenience, but there are some items out of place at times. For example, some early dance practices were called [practice records] and were released for fans during Festa celebrations, so they are found in the BTS Festa folder instead. However, most of the practices are found here, most often labelled [Choreography]. Still, a few can be found in more than one location. Go Figure. *shrug*
NOTE: If you search for a song with its English title, you may not find it because the song has been posted with its Korean spelling. Still, with a bit of patience, you can find misplaced items.
Links 1, 2, 3
BTS ON AIR
Did you know BTS used to do radio interviews as a group? They have also performed at many music and talk shows, and have filmed a lot of commercials for products they were hired to promote. Were you aware documentation of those items could be found here?
Links 1, 2, 3, 4
BTS EPISODE
Did you know that there are videos that show the behind-the-scenes for moments and events where BTS attended or performed? This folder contains moments from before, during, and/or after TV appearances, photo shoots, activities, and music video shoots, etc.
Links 1, 2
Remember: These are only examples. There are over 80 folders under the Playlists tab.
I again hope this information is helpful to new fans and existing fans alike. Since I didn't get to catch up on all the material I thought I'd get to while BTS was gone, I at least began improving my knowledge of and understanding of the material and platforms available. Unfortunately, during my time as a fan, the location of official information was mentioned but was, and still is, very rarely explained or provided. I feel it took far too long for me, as a fan, to know where and what these items were, so I wanted to share with others what I have discovered from my journey in case anyone else is having the same experience.
My goals are to help to lessen confusion for other fans and to increase the use of original content for BTS. I'm also hoping it diminishes the power of misinformation, which is prevalent in this fandom.
If you're looking for more BTS official content resources, check out my my pinned post and scroll down to the category of "Miscellaneous". I also created lists of as many official links for BTS members, BigHit, and Hybe as I could find at the moment. I will do my best to update them as I go. Please enjoy discovering, or rediscovering, gems in BTS's huge archive of official footage.

Klaha in SHOXX #121 (March 2003)
(credits to the one who has this photo)
Translation:
There were quite a few voices saying that Klaha’s live performance on the “MAR” day of the “Luawataru no Anchor” tour felt deeply connected to life itself. Regardless of whether the songs were previously released or not, the fact that he could convey each emotion through his raw, unfiltered voice, before the songs had even fully sunk into the audience’s bodies, seemed to have a deeply moving and positive impact.
The unreleased song “Romanciaisn ow leaves~”, which served as the gateway into the latter half of the main show, carried with it a luxurious charm wrapped in a soft, embracing fragrance—delivering an early Christmas mood. During “Chocolat”, a fleeting, delicate piece, Klaha sat on a raised platform at the back of the stage, showing an ennui-laced side of himself. There was even a glimpse of unexpected cuteness, and I couldn’t help but feel like I caught a rare glimpse into a hidden side of him. Or was it just me…?
Then came “Sayonara”, gently closing in on the show’s final act. As if to further paint the world of “Sayonara” in even more beautiful colors, the following “penguin” saw Klaha begin to inject dynamic movement into its romantic and lyrical atmosphere.
The final song of the main set was the aggressive, unreleased track “Prism of image”. With this song, Klaha radiated a kaleidoscope of emotional light, offering both intense passion and deep intoxication and the main show came to a dramatic close.
During the encore, he performed the unreleased, baroque-techno style track “Tamashii ga Irodzuku Shunkan” ("The Moment the Soul Gains Color"). For this one, he took up a guitar and sang while strumming, showing yet another new side of himself. Then, the live performance at Shibuya ON AIR WEST, where his journey first began came to a splendid conclusion with the fitting farewell number “Green Tsutaetai Omoi” ("The Feelings I Want to Convey").
Of course, the opening and ending songs that framed the concert were also works Klaha had crafted especially for this day. Visually the production was intentionally restrained, and performance wise he kept the setup simple with just keyboard and guitar backing him. It was a stage entirely focused on expressing Klaha’s voice and message conveying his emotions as they are now and where he’s heading from here.
And so, this day’s opening act will lead into the upcoming February 15th performance at Akasaka Blitz: “Nostailab Kaihō Prism”. Be sure not to miss how this journey continues.
