The sun’s rays can cause more harm to your skin than just a tan or sunburn. Overexposure to UV radiation accelerates aging, leads to hyperpigmentation, and increases the risk of skin cancer. Learn how sun damage occurs and discover effective ways to protect your skin and repair the harm with treatments like laser therapy and proper skincare routines.

realistically, i know fur cannot tan. but in my heart i believe vasco would love to sunbathe and would develop an even warmer golden brown from it, while machete would turn pink-red from merely going outside for more than 10 minutes

I need a Days Since Last Told I Look Like Billie Eilish counter
I'm unsure what to do with this. we have such different aesthetics that I have a knee-jerk negative reaction to hearing it, but they're not saying I DRESS like Billie Eilish
so I can't really tell if I'm flattered or insulted or have no reaction at all (I think it's meant as a compliment?)

Hey hey hey- its MELANOMA AWARENESS MONTH!
Put your sunscreen, hat, longsleeve, full coverage bathing suit, etc on!
April 2016 I had a malignant melanoma removed from my back- I still have a significant scar as a reminder. My husband had a melanoma removed a few years after that and we have been vigilant since.
Unfortunately- I had a mole come back after my last visit as a “severely atypical nevi” and had to have a surgical excision( today). These moles or nevi are not ALWAYS cancer or dangerous- but from what I gather, convert easily to melanoma. Given my sordid history with melanoma- the choice was a 2.5cm surgical incision/ removal. I was grateful it was less than the 11cm from the previous melanoma. However- this one is slap dab in the middle of my abdomen. So now, thanks (likely) to my idiotic youth and bikini choices- I will sport- not a cute bikini- but a large surgical incision on my back from 2016 and a medium sized one on my abdomen from today.
Please- be careful. No matter what beautiful skin tone you are- be careful and get SCREENED.
We can PREVENT two cancers- SKIN and COLON. Be smart and screen regularly for both.

I feel like the people making those sunscreen defense posts are simply not inhabiting the same internet I am or something. Sunscreen is good to prevent cancer yes, but women on tiktok are saying you need to wear sunscreen to your windowless office job so you don’t get wrinkles. And are also saying you need to buy the most expensive sunscreen to do this every day. And also are only putting sunscreen on their face to avoid wrinkles and sunspots. This is so prevalent that there are already memes about skin quality on people’s (women’s) faces vs on the rest of their entire body.
Like I am not advocating for no sunscreen ever but forgive me if I think people can probably afford to go out most days without sunscreen on their face or body since most people are not spending much time outside most days. Forgive me if I think it’s a little ridiculous that women specifically have been targeted with this intense fear mongering, but not so much that we are telling women to wear practical clothing covering most skin when they are going to be outdoors. Only just enough that they should buy one more product at a dramatic markup and use it religiously while changing nothing else about their habits

A revolutionary new approach
Yes, you can get that older body pain and aches under control, you can avoid cancer, you can have a radiant skin, you can get your energy and vigour back and much more! It is all possible with PLUS+. No magic hat trick but entrenched in science with proof
I want to share an exciting update with all of you regarding why I’ve been relatively quiet these past few months. The reason for my temporary absence has been a singular focus on the development of something truly extraordinary – the PLUS+ system. As we approach the much-anticipated launch date of October 1, 2023, I’m thrilled to provide some insights into what makes PLUS+ not only revolutionary…

Is it currently summer where you live and you are going outside? Wear sunscreen*
Is it currently winter where you live? Still wear sunscreen. ESPECIALLY if you are out among fresh show. That shit reflects and intensifies the rays. There’s a reason skiers/snowboarders get sun burns too.
Are you driving long distances and it’s sunny out? Wear sunscreen. You’ll still get a significant amount of sunlight unless you have tinted windows (which is illegal in most US states; iirc).
Are you a darker complexion and were told you don’t need sunscreen because your skin absorbs sunlight differently? THOSE WERE LIES! WEAR SUNSCREEN!
If you’re protecting your eyes from the sun, you need to protect your skin too!
And don’t forget to apply with enough time for the protective barrier to absorb/form before going out into the sun (usually about 10-20min) and to re-apply every couple of hours (more frequently if you’re getting wet/sweating). Also, don’t forget your scalp! If you have thinner hair, short/shaved hair, have defined parts - just generally can SEE your scalp - you need to protect that too! Slather that with sunscreen as well, wear a hat, sit in the shade, carry an umbrella, etc.
*I personally go for sunBLOCK. I am so pale I’m practically see-through, and I have a family history of skin cancer. Please learn the difference between sunSCREEN and sunBLOCK and decide which is best for you. (Can I also note how much I love that the linked article uses an image of a black family putting on sunscreen/block?)
be pro-aging but wear sun screen. sun protection is not beauty industry propaganda it will save you. wear it. or else.

Shocked and upset (not. Much. But ugh) that I have to go buy a thing and have to use a prescription topical steroid to clear the eczema patches that haven’t healed for MONTHS. Like. *shocked pikachu meme* “has skin condition” “is shocked when I need to treat it in a flare up” (I usually just ignore it until it goes away tbh).
(Mostly I just. Don’t want to need it and go into TSW. But. For a prescribed time to just clear up the patches that uh. Have been MONTHS. some 2-3 one particular initial mosquito bite from. 6? Ago. It’s. Its just to use until it clears. It’s literally prescribed by my doctor it’s fine)
Also like. I’m very proud of my willingness to strip for my service provider (even if I kinda feel like she might be judging me for my sinner thigh tat bc I really didn’t intend for anyone other than any potential future fucks to see it I guess) (my patches rn are so easily very hideable under clothing which is nice for me tbh) (…do I feel safe enough for the next four years with how close this election was to even make the appt like “hey could I go on T for 6-12 months and get top surgery?”) (thoughts for when I have spoons to make another appt. It might be easier right now though bc snowbirds have probably flown south for the winter already…)
