Concept: Exterminator Mode on Pressure (Part 1)
Are you struggling hard on Pressure like an idiot? (don't worry I'm also an idiot)
Are you tired of getting MINIGAMED at the worst possible times, like right after Sebastian's Shop or in the Ridge?
Do you have a desire for... REVENGE?
Well, this concept will surely catch your eye! In this post I will explain how you'd unlock this mode and its gameplay, I will have a follow-up post with badges related to the mode and post-mode consequencies.
CW: mention of guns, lots of beloved characters die
How to unlock Exterminator Mode
On your 100th death, instead of meeting Sebastian you'll be face to face with Mr. Lopee himself. He will show the document of what killed you like usual, but as he closes it, he says something... Peculiar:
"Your eyes... They reveal a long-harbored hatred for this place. I think you have now earned the right to act out your revenge. Next time you come here, go to the door on the far right, and with a "small" fee you'll be free to kill them."
You have now the ability to start Exterminator Mode!
To activate it, go to the door where the Evil Mode button was during the 2024 April Fools update, pay 500 Kroner (the first time, 50 Kroner from the second time onwards) to open the door, and pick up the backpack in front of you: that is you Exterminator Kit.
If you have second thoughts, you can leave the kit there and play normally! The door will remain unlocked until you initiate an Exterminator Mode run.
Note: Exterminator Mode is only available to teams up to 4 players. Teams of 5 or higher cannot activate Exterminator Mode, it might be too chaotic for the server to process. (A 50-player Ext. Mode would be insane tho ngl)
Exterminator Mode gameplay in a nutshell
Congratulations, you now have acquired the kit! Here's what gets added to your inventory:
A harpoon shooter with 10 ammo units (You will need to recharge by finding harpoons as you go)
A gun, similar to Sebastian's
A crowbar
A list to keep track of your remaning targets
In order to successfully complete an Exterminator Mode run, you must kill the following targets before you arrive to the Ridge. Should you skip even one targeted entity, once you're in the Ridge you will be killed by Mr. Lopee (the door will remain unlocked as if you played a normal run). Some voicelines you might hear when arriving to the Ridge with at least one target skipped:
"Don't think you can just sweep the dust under the rug!" "Coward!" *Mr. Lopee laughing like a villain* (If Sebastian is spared)"You had to get your own "friend" too, you know!" (If you haven't killed anyone) "Is this how you act when you're offered a helping hand?" (If you haven't killed anyone) "How dare you waste the gift I've given you!"
Now that you know that skipping targets is not good, it's time to know who do you have to kill in order to appease Mr. Lopee!
Here's the complete list, with reccommended methods:
Angler, its variants and Pandemonium: simply stand in the way with the harpoon shooter and kill them as they run towards you. A visual cue will be displayed to help you face the correct direction
Eyefestation: on the side it appears, you will find a couple of cracked spots. Use the harpoon gun to break the spot, enter the ocean and shoot Eyefestation like usual
Good People: With the harpoon gun equipped, walk towards the fake door as usual. A small animation will be triggered, where you'll automatically shoot the Good People, breaking the mask on impact. You will hear p.A.I.nter freak out and hurriedly lock the door
Imaginary Friend: the remote will spawn somewhere very visible. With the crowbar equipped, interact with the remote: a small animation where you smash the remote will play. If you've summoned the Imaginary Friend prior to breaking the remote, she will scream in pain and disappear for the rest of the run.
p.A.I.nter: p.A.I.nter's room will spawn somewhere after the death of the Good People. Since its cell's keycard port is unusable, use the crowbar to break in. Once you're done, an animation will play where you grab p.A.I.nter by its monitor and violently throw it on the floor, killing it on impact. You will not get any Turret rooms or Eyefestation Gauntlets (if Eyefestation hasn't died yet) for the rest of the run
Sebastian (probably the most painful one): You must be sneaky and fast. Do not come in with the gun equipped, take it out only once you're in. Don't wait too long either, both when taking the gun and shooting Sebastian, he noticed the Site is growing quieter and suspects you're doing bad stuff. He's right, and it's best for you to act fast (Note: on the bright side, you'll be able to take Sebastian's entire stock free of charge once you kill him! :D)
Searchlights: I have good news and bad news on this one. The good news is that you'll have to kill only the Searchlight in the Storage room (The others will find out and will avoid you once you get past the Ridge)! The bad news is... You need to be prepared. You'll have to get into the mouth on that thing four times because you'll have to shoot the harpoons from the inside, which means you'll have to get stabbed by its harpoons four times. Although its harpoon damage will be reduced, you will still need at least a medkit to survive. Don't worry, Sebastian's stock will always have one ready for you.
You will also be able to kill Squiddles and Wall Dwellers, if you want. They're not obligatory, but if you're feeling like spilling more blood you can use the crowbar on them.
Edit: PART 2 IS OUT!

For Devil's bastard au: what is the chance that Nicaisa full mama bear/feral mode when alastor get hurt by Adam?
I'm pretty fluid with the timeline of this AU, but to be honest, I just don't see Nicaise falling before the botched extermination. It would take some time after she first learned about the exterminations for her to really spread the word. With the revelation that sinners can ascend to Heaven, Sera and the Elders of Heaven are really feeling the pressure to maintain Heaven's status quo. This is a big catalyst for why they banish Nicaise.
However, I do very much want Adam to return as a sinner, so even if she's not around to go mama bear when it happens, she and Adam are still gonna have beef. Adam can't even make fun of Alastor for being a mamma's boy because Nicaise scares him shitless.
Bonus: Lucifer has little hearts in his eyes as he watches Nicaise dress Adam down. And then Alastor is leaning down in his face flashing the nightmare eyes and simply says:
"N̴̙͘O̶̺̅."
#ask#anonymous#Hazbin Hotel#the Devil's Bastard AU#Alastor's Mother#Nicaise (Hazbin Hotel OC)#Alastor#Adam (Hazbin Hotel)#Lucifer Morningstar#tbh I'm not sure if I actually want Lucifer and Alastor's mother to develop a romantic relationship#I'm actually considering making Nicaise aroallo#she likes Lucifer and she's attracted to him she just doesn't want or need any kind of romantic relationship#and Lucifer may be developing *some* feelings but he's loyal to Lilith (when he's in his right state of mind)#I think I like the idea of them being good friends who happen to have a kid together better

THE MODERN BULLIES OF ANNE FRANK
Don't conflate Jews with a white civilisation that tried to EXTERMINATE them
I see twitter’s righteous ones are bullying Anne Frank again, a 15 year old Jewish girl exterminated in a concentration camp. She’s being bullied once again because she had “white privilege.” That lucky bitch. Did she take a moment to acknowledge what a lucky white bitch she was whilst hiding in a cupboard? Of course she didn’t. These stupid white girls are so full of themselves they can’t see beyond their entitlement: stupid Karen.
Of course the notion that Anne Frank had “white privilege” is anti-intellectual filth.
It is mind filth from morons whose historical illiteracy is equalled by their utter ignorance regarding Jewish identity.
Of course having one’s murdered body tipped into an unmarked pit is the antithesis of privilege - but let’s break down the whole story for the idiots out there.
I’m a Jew. Like the Franks, members of my family were murdered because they weren’t white. They were Jews. My history isn’t white history. My history is the history of Jews. My ancestors were told where to live, what to do. They were persecuted by white Europeans. Because they weren’t white. They were Jews. A civilisation of their own.
Let’s finally dispense with the “Jews are white” bullshit - whether from pure antisemites or those handful of Jews who run round like headless chickens to be accepted - seduced by non-Jewish peer pressure and disconnected from the reality of our history as a scattered and abused Levantine People.
Don’t conflate Jews with a white civilisation that has tried to exterminate them specifically because they weren’t seen as white European.
Jews in Canada and America - you’re not there because you’re white. You’re there because you’re a Jew. Your family most likely had to flee some place to finally end up there because Jews weren’t safe in Europe. Because they weren’t white. They were Jews.
I’m obliged to make the point that most Jews on planet earth don’t even have white pigmentation. From Ethiopian Jews, to Yemenite Jews, to Ashkenasi Jews - we have diverse levels of melanin.
ETHIOPIAN JEWS IN ISRAEL
I’m obliged to make this point as a way to neutralise the general thrust of this skin deep bullshit - but I do it with the heavy caveat that skin colour is not a metric through which the Jewish People have ever defined themselves.
We should reject non-Jewish attempts to dominate reality and coercively frame Jews according to the traditions and standards of the non-Jewish world. Jewish civilisation evolved long before modern Europe. During this time Jews formed an anthropological system for understanding themselves and the universe that simply does not scan with Western modes of categorising ethnic groups according to the uncertain metric of skin tone.
A Jew is a Jew. Membership of the tribe is not contigent upon colour. Though most are born Jewish, and though most can trace their genetic ancestry back to the Levant, Jews are also a tribe in which it’s possible for non-members to join regardless of genes or melanin level. Circumcision doesn’t ask the colour of your schmeckle. Epidermis is not what connects one Jew with another. We are connected through shared history, customs, culture and the mental fabric of an intellectual, spiritual and secular inner world shaped by Jewish ideas and philosophy. The fact that the individuals sharing this ontological universe have various complexions isn’t a story of ethnic differences, but a tale of tribal unity. It points to one People forcibly scattered around the globe but with origins stemming from one geographical region. Not white Europe. Not white America. But Middle-Eastern Israel.
So why are we seeing an attempt to assert Jews are white when previously Jews were attacked for NOT being white? Well firstly, lets acknowledge that neo-Nazis and kitchen table racists still don’t regard Jews as true members of white society. Nothing has changed there.
The reverse notion - that Jews ARE white - is being pushed by progressives, the left, social justice warriors, self-declared anti-racists, the woke and Israel haters of all creeds.
Why?
Because in the era of identity politics, whiteness has become synonymous in these circles with toxicity, privilege and power. These circles have simply absorbed and exhaled antisemitic cliches of Jewish power - in spite of Jews being the number one victims of racial and religious hate crimes.
By incorrectly placing Jews at the apex of societal power and lumping us in with white people, those who would define themselves as anti-racist are regurgitating antisemitic tropes of Jews as an obstacle to be confronted if a better world is to be created.
The contradiction between Jews being simultaneously toxic to Nazis because they AREN'T white, and toxic to the woke because they ARE white is easily resolved. They both see Jews as possessing unfair power and they are both seeking to deprive Jews of fraternal kinship based upon the codes of their particular world view. The whooping, hallooing, feral attacks on the murdered Jewish child Anne Frank shows just how detached from reality these fundamentalists have become.
Jews were once told to go back to Israel because we WEREN'T white. Now that we've returned home we're told to leave Israel because we ARE white.
It's the confused dance of a world that simply doesn't want us anywhere.
If haters can depict Jews as white Europeans, then with the wave of a magic wand, we are transformed into colonial invaders who don't belong in a non-white Middle East.
The premise is absurd.
When white Europeans went to the Americas and Africa they didn't find ancient manuscripts of William Shakespeare - because they were colonisers.
But Jews in Israel find ancient manuscripts written in Hebrew, the same language they speak today, describing the same rituals - because they are a People indigenous to the middle east.
When white Europeans went to the Americas and Africa they didn't find churches - because they were colonisers.
In Israel you can't move for Jewish artefacts, archeology and ancient synagogues found everywhere. Yet we are still harassed with misplaced taunts of being white, European colonialists.

DR34M.exe 1.0
Group: NCT Dream Word Count: 3.3k Warnings: Language, Violence About: Jeno finally managed to convince his best friends to download the latest game on the market, DR34M.exe, but the game isn't quite what it seems.
Cast
The familiar tone chimed as the last of the seven boys joined his friends in the voice channel. They were finally ready to begin the latest game on the market, DR34M.exe. Jeno had been begging since before its release and some of his friends were easier to convince than the others. Renjun, the last to join the group call, had been rejecting playing with them right up until joining the call. Somehow, he’d let his friends convince him to purchase and download the game, peer pressure, if you will. Bar Renjun, they all had already bought and downloaded DR34M.exe and switched from talking in the group chat to starting a group voice call the moment they received the coaxed-out “yes”. “I’m creating the lobby,” came Jeno’s voice down the phone line. On all things regarding games, the boys put him in charge, “I’ll put the link in the chat.” “Woah, character creation?” came another voice, “Wait, I want to dress up first.” “We’re just testing it out. Don’t spend ages designing a character,” Renjun protested in response. “You have to design a character, you can’t continue without,” Jeno chimed in. He was so eager to play that he’d already logged into DR34M.exe and had a look around at the game features.
The boys got to designing their characters while Jeno waited. There were exclamations of awe at the large range of options although the colour selections were fairly limited, and even Renjun, who'd not been too interested in character creation, had fun dressing up and selecting his avatar traits.
Some words flashed up on Jeno’s screen, onyourm__ark has joined the Dream Lab. Instinctively, Jeno and, now in the lobby, Mark’s avatars jumped and ran circles around each other as a greeting while the two laughed. zhongchenle01 has joined the Dream Lab. Next to join the lobby was Chenle, who quickly joined in the other boys’ antics. jisungpwaaark has joined the Dream Lab. yellow_3to3 has joined the Dream Lab. na.jaemin0813 has joined the Dream Lab. Soon enough, the top left of each of the boy’s computer screens read “Dream Lab: 6/7”. One of them was missing. “Haechan, hurry up,” came from Jeno, sick of waiting. “I am, it’s just spinning!!” Donghyuck was referring to the loading symbol, a little neon green heart.
While the boys waited for Donghyuck to enter the lobby, they questioned each other on the features of the game. Does it have spatial audio? Were there other gameplay modes? Why did Renjun choose that hairstyle for his avatar? fullsun_hyuck has joined the Dream Lab.
The Dream Lab was a purple-toned room that slightly resembled the control room of some sort of spaceship. The walls were covered with markings and readings in the made up language of the DR34M.exe in-game universe. Around a screen in the middle of the room was a keyboard of all sorts of buttons and controls as well as seven seats for seven players. As soon as Donghyuck had entered the lobby, the once black screen lit up with a number. 10. Then 9, 8… It was a countdown. The boys were certain that neither of them had pressed anything as all of the controls were not player interactive. As the countdown reached 0, static appeared on the screen, along with its sound. Through the fuzz was a blurred silhouette with its hair tied back. As the silhouette moved on the screen, a female voice began to speak through the static. The game was beginning. The woman’s voice was broken up, glitching like her receiver was broken, “The trebulons have reached a small planet in the N-127 solar system called Earth. There isn’t much time. I am transporting you there now. Exterminate them all.”
None of the boys spoke, they quietened down as soon as the voice had started to speak. The instructions seemed vague, but none of them could ask a thing. Their eyes were glued to the neon green heart that had appeared on the screen. It was animated as though it was beating. First slowly and then faster, and then faster and faster. The faster the heart beated the louder the frequency was through the boys’ headsets. It got louder and louder until it was piercing their ears. Then suddenly, it fell silent and the images on the screen vanished. All was black.
The sun shone down onto Jeno’s face as he opened his eyes. Had he fallen asleep? He lifted his hand to shield his vision from the light. He was outside. The sky was bright blue and completely clear, but his vision was a little obscured by text covering the left side of his field of view. Name: zenolee0423 Ability: Strength Health: ♡♡♡♡♡ On the right side in the bottom corner read, Enemies defeated: 0. Shocked, Jeno jumped up. What the hell was going on? He scanned his surroundings, he was out in the desert somewhere, or so it looked like. There was dry, sandy ground as far as the eye could see and one long, dusty path that stretched from horizon to horizon. The only building around was a brightly coloured petrol station. It was pink and yellow and white, and there was a large sign reading, “DREAM”.
Luckily, Jeno wasn’t alone. His friends were sprawled out across the floor, all still sleeping, passed out, who knows what. Jeno ran to his best friend’s side, “Jaemin, Jaemin what the hell is going on here?” Jaemin stirred as Jeno shook him, also rubbing his eyes in the light. It didn’t take long for the rest of the boys to begin doing the same. Their combined shock and confusion made them all panic as they realised they were no longer in their rooms and on the phone, but here, together, in what could only be DR34M.exe.
Chenle caught a glimpse of himself in the reflective petrol station window, but what he saw was odd. It was him, that’s for sure, but he didn’t look anything like he had five minutes ago in his bedroom. In fact, he looked exactly like the character he’d designed on the creation screen. His hair was black with pink highlights instead of an ashy blonde, and he certainly wasn’t wearing his pyjamas anymore. He turned back to the rest of his friends, none of them looked like themselves anymore. They were all wearing brightly coloured outfits, pink to match the DREAM petrol station, and Chenle had seen them recently enough to know that Jeno did not have baby pink hair, his best friend Jisung didn’t have white hair, and Renjun definitely did not have that short, choppy haircut that the boys had commented on before. Unable to take him seriously, Chenle just had to laugh, “Renjun, why, just why did you choose that haircut??” It came out in his mother tongue, Chinese, the shared language between the two. Renjun had nothing to say but to argue that he didn’t expect to really have to don this look, or he maybe wouldn’t have risked choosing it.
As the boys grew accustomed to the idea that they were inside DR34M.exe, they allowed themselves to joke with each other, criticising and complementing each other’s avatars, and sharing which abilities they’d selected in character creation.
The sound of the woman’s voice from before cut through their conversation, she spoke close to their ears as though they still had their computer headsets on. Her voice still glitched and was masked by static, “The trebulons are approaching. Good luck. Don’t die.”
Over the horizon, a small figure began to approach. It looked thin and dark in colour. It was unclothed and bald, but it walked like a human. Then it began to run. It ran like a human. “What is that?” Jisung, the youngest in the group, now with bright white hair, spotted the figure first. He pointed at it in the distance. It seemed to run as soon as he spotted it. It must know it had been seen. “Does anyone actually know what a trebulon is?” Mark asked. The boys looked among themselves, then at Jeno, who shrugged. The game description and release trailers had been vague, yet the mystery captivated him. He didn’t know what DR34M.exe was, but he had wanted to play it.
As the figure in the distance ran closer, a few more identical figures appeared over the horizon. As the first one came close, it was clear that it was not human. Its skin was navy blue and looked like it was covered with an oily sheen. It had beady black eyes and no nose, just two holes for nostrils. Its head was long and wider than its body, but still eerily thin. This one looked like it didn’t have a mouth. It was a trebulon pawn, the weakest of the trebulon army. Weak it may be, but it was getting close and the boys didn’t know how to use their abilities yet.
“If I knew we’d have to fight things I wouldn’t have chosen sound manipulation!!” Donghyuck exclaimed, he felt useless, unknowing how this ability would help them complete the game. Donghyuck received only sarcastic responses from his friends, making him feel absolutely no better. “At least you got yours, I chose robot parts! Do I look like a cyborg to you??” Jaemin lifted his arms, and twisted his completely human body back and forth. He was not covered in robotic enhancements, to which Jisung helpfully confirmed.
The trebulon kept running towards the fumbling group, its friends not far behind. It looked like it was headed straight towards Jeno. He clenched his fist as the gap between him and the creature closed, ready to strike. He’d selected superhuman strength as his ability, one of the few powers that didn’t require any practise. Jeno aimed his fist and swung straight at the trebulon’s face. His strength ability almost caused his hand to punch straight through the creature’s head. The blow from Jeno’s hit caused a murky green goop to come from the trebulon’s nostrils and onto Jeno’s hand. It was warm and sticky, like some kind of slime.
In the bottom right of Jeno’s vision, the text changed. Enemies defeated: 1. “Make them bleed!” Jeno called to his friends, as gory as it sounded, he’d figured out the game. These aliens seemed pretty weak as they could be defeated in one hit. But his knowledge of games let him know that a set of stronger ones were surely soon to come. “Gross!” Came from Chenle, who shuddered as soon as he saw the liquid spew. The boys didn’t have time to rest, the other aliens were approaching, and fast. They knew they couldn’t rely on Jeno to take them all out.
Renjun’s eyes frantically searched the area for something to throw. His power was telekinesis, not the most helpful in an empty desert. He had nothing to pick up but the trebulons themselves, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t seem to lift them. Renjun shouted for help from the other boys, what was he supposed to do if his powers didn’t work? Jisung, lover of games after Jeno, suggested the idea of a range. “You’d be too OP if you could just grab anything from anywhere,” Jisung explained. Renjun didn’t hesitate to question what “OP” meant, him being the one in the group who games the least, with a server level of only 26. After a quick explanation of game terms from Jisung, Renjun felt more ready to play. He just had to wait for them to get into his range, whatever distance that may be, and start throwing the aliens around. Couldn’t be too hard right?
During Renjun’s struggle, Mark and Chenle had begun to use their powers, super speed and flight, respectively. Mark had used his speed to round up the pawns, he sped circles around them so they couldn’t escape, while Chenle plucked them one by one from above, dropping them for Jeno to beat up. The three of them had a pretty good strategy in place, with a space for Renjun to take up a similar activity to Chenle once he got the hang of his telekinesis.
The remaining three were not having much luck with their abilities. Donghyuck, having completely given up, was trying to help Jaemin find his cyborg abilities. Jaemin complained that he thought the game had bugged out, having not granted him his power, until Donghyuck, innocently prodding around, hit a spot on Jaemin’s bicep. Donghyuck jumped back as Jaemin’s body began to beep and whir like a computer starting up. Jaemin turned to face his friend, terrified as the whites of his eyes glowed neon green and pain began to shoot up and down his arms under his jacket, the same green light emanating from his sleeves. A sharp pain shot through Jaemin’s head, behind his right ear, as his skin opened up and a scouter unfolded from the now exposed circuit boards that were inside his head. The glass on the scouter was a clear green with a pink target mark that followed Jaemin’s eye line. As he looked at Donghyuck who’d backed away from the whirring, the target locked onto Donghyuck, and beeped. Then appeared white text on the green glass, NO THREAT DETECTED.
Suddenly, the pain in Jaemin’s arms increased tenfold and he screamed out in pain. Whatever was happening to his body was obstructed by his jacket sleeves. Jaemin winced, trying to pull the garment off. The fabric kept getting caught on Jaemin’s arms, there was something moving around underneath his skin and the pain was torture. Almost as soon as Jaemin had freed himself of the jacket, he saw what was happening to his body. The same green light in his eyes that had been glowing out of his sleeves was coming from his arms. His skin had split like patchwork and the light was leaking out of the gaps. Now that his arms were exposed, his separated skin began to open and turn itself inside out.
Together, Jaemin and Donghyuck screamed, one in agony and one in horror as the prior’s upper limbs contorted themselves into what looked like machine guns. Inside Jaemin’s arms were the same circuits from the inside of his head. It looked like he was some sort of cyborg. This was so much more than what Jaemin had expected when choosing his ability, no built in circuits and excruciating pain but just a few cool gadgets attached to him or, at the bare minimum, to his clothes.
Some stray trebulons had managed to avoid Mark’s round up technique and were heading straight towards Jaemin and Donghyuck. Jaemin readied himself and aimed through his scouter at the aliens heading towards him, THREAT DETECTED. The end of the gun in Jaemin’s hand glowed in the familiar green as it charged to shoot, and Donghyuck crept behind his friend, protecting himself from whatever was about to come out of Jaemin’s literal hand gun. A bright energy blast flew from the barrel of the gun and didn’t stop when it hit the trebulon pawn. It shot straight through its centre and the one behind it and the one behind that. Slime dripped from the hole in the centre of their bodies and pooled onto the floor as they collapsed. The alien bodies didn’t remain on the floor for long after defeat, they laid for about 30 seconds before the counter in the bottom right of the boys’ view increased and the corpses disappeared in a flurry of pixels.
Donghyuck began to cheer loudly at Jaemin’s awesome gameplay, causing everyone around him to flinch, to his surprise. Donghyuck looked around, his teammates clutching their ears, but no trebulons in his vicinity to be seen, instead, their green goop covering his friend’s clothes. Their heads had exploded at the high frequency cheer. Donghyuck had accidentally used his voice to eliminate those in range, but damaged his friends in the process, a useful ability with a price. “What the fuck??” Renjun yelled out. His heart counter had decreased by half a heart at Donghyuck’s noise causing him to go from his full five to four and a half hearts. Each hit from a trebulon took half a heart’s damage, and as the boys had just discovered, their powers could harm each other, dealing another half heart’s worth of damage.
Distracted and glaring at Donghyuck for his mistake, Renjun quickly became a target for the increasing number of trebulons approaching. They swarmed him mercilessly. Renjun had just gotten decent control of his telekinesis but lost his concentration at the sudden damage. He was surrounded by aliens, too many to use his ability on. They closed the circle around him, closer and closer, reaching out with their oily, slender, blue hands. Renjun shut his eyes tight, he couldn’t bear to look at them any longer but couldn’t fight them off on his own. He was rather short and slim, not blessed with the body of a fighter. Renjun could feel the sensation of the trebulons’ hands on his legs, at first they just grabbed him, until something sharp started to dig into his left leg. He winced at the pain, opening his eyes to find its source. The aliens had their nails digging into Renjun’s shins and calves, nails that they definitely did not have before.
“Chenle, get him!” Jeno screamed, trying his best to fight off the ever growing number of trebulon pawns. He’d seen the crowd gathering around Renjun and panicked, unknowing what would happen if they actually got hold of him. As ordered, Chenle used his ability to fly overhead, looking for an opening to rescue Renjun from the swarm of aliens. Upon spotting a gap that looked about safe enough to get into, Chenle swooped down, pushing himself in between the group of aliens and grabbing onto Renjun to carry him to safety. Luckily, Renjun was light enough for Chenle to carry without a problem, but escape still wasn’t easy. The pawns weren’t happy about Renjun being stolen from their grasp. Their focus switched instantly to Chenle trying to free himself and his friend from the swarm. One of them extended its skinny arm and wrapped its hand around Chenle’s leg, unsheathing its two inch nails that it had hidden in its fingers.
Luckily for Chenle, he managed to escape the pawn’s grasp, with just a few rips in his trousers though the enemy did manage to draw blood. Losing half a heart was worth it to have saved Renjun, or so Chenle thought. He placed Renjun down by Jisung who had strayed away from the battle, still unable to use his selected ability. Renjun’s entire left trouser leg had been torn off, and his calf looked like it would’ve been next. His leg was covered in blood, scratched right down from his knee to his ankle, with nothing left but what looked like shreds of blood drenched skin. Chenle tried to shake Renjun awake but he was unresponsive, his body floppy as though he was dead. Jisung tried calling out Renjun’s name with Chenle shaking him some more, both of them trying to ignore the sight of his leg, but nothing worked. Still holding onto his friend, Chenle felt his hands start to tingle, it tickled and it felt like touching the bubbles in a fizzy soda. Pixels began to surround Renjun where Chenle touched him. More and more appeared, it was the same animation as when a trebulon had been defeated. Chenle tried to hold on as his friend’s body disappeared right before his eyes, no matter how hard he tried to pull him back, Renjun disappeared into the pixels.
Chenle could do nothing but stare at his empty hands, panic building up inside him. “We need to pause the game,” His voice was loud, piercing, full of panic, “How do we pause?!” Jisung couldn’t answer, he was frozen in place unable to believe what he’d just witnessed. His friend had vanished before his eyes, seemingly dead. So many things were racing around his head, fear, confusion, and the obvious questions, where did Renjun go and more importantly, how would they get him back?

sweats to recover the strain began in 1979; 560 a strain standard was published by the government of Navarre in 2006, and in 2010 the Pachón was added to the list of canine types recognized by the Spanish government.
It’s one of five Basque types of canine, the others being the Basque Shepherd Dog, the Erbi Txakur, the Villano de Las Encartaciones, and the Villanuco de Las Encartaciones. Many exemplifications display an unusual characteristic, a split or bifid nose.

History
The Pachon Navarro first appeared in history back in the 12th century in Spain when it was fashionable to develop colorful strains of hunting tykes around Europe. Each breeder or club had their pets, and numerous new types soon developed.
The Pachon was no different, except for their unique double nose, frequently appertained to as looking down the business end of a double barrel shotgun. How that nose came about is anyone’s conjecture, as the parentage line attestation is lost in time.
By the 1800’s it was decided to divide the colorful types into groups, with a devoted group of breeders and suckers siding with the group of their interest. also in 1922, the Pachon Navarro came officially honored with the standard set for the strain. sorely, disaster passed in the 1950s when a contagion called myxomatosis nearly wiped the Pachon out.
That, combined with the earlier Spanish Civil War losses, devastated the canine’s figures. In fact, numerous people allowed the strain had been wiped out, but in 1970 a sprinkle of the tykes were set up in remote townlets.
Pressure on the Central Canine Society of Madrid redounded in the launching of a disquisition into Spanish types with the end to find and save the colorful types that were slipping into extermination.
moment, the Pachon Navarro is still in recovery mode and battling to secure its place amongst the numerous types of moments. The end is to promote the canine’s growth without altering the strain — a noble and righteous thing.

OC Favorites Tag
Tagged by: @ashen-crest forever ago over here, thank you! Rules: Share photos of your OC’s favorite type of favorite weapon, favorite texture, favorite accessory, and favorite color. Then tag four people and change up any one of the four favorite things categories for the next round!
I'm going with Ives for this one
Favorite Weapon: Bullpup Rifle –Ives doesn't come to work to play. When on the job, it's always a dicey situation, 9 times out of 10 meaning a whole lot of people are in danger. He works with precision, with as much 0-point probability of damage as possible, and is keen on long-range weapons to get to the danger before it gets to anyone else. His rifle can switch modes from enervate to exterminate.
Favorite Texture: Suede– Ives doesn't usually pay that much attention to textures, mostly because he tends to wear gloves a lot. But Ryker has this one suede couch in his apartment that he can't get enough of.
Favorite Accessory: Niner –if you can call her that. A Synthetic K-9 unit that's more like a best friend than an accessory. But she's always at his hip.
Favorite Color: Green– There's a lot of green in Featherfall, from garden-walls to greenspaces. To Ives, it represents outside and life, a world away from sterile labs and simulation rooms.
Tagging: @kaiusvnoir, @fearofahumanplanet, @winterandwords, @concealeddarkness13, @asomeoneperson, and anyone else who would like! (As always please don't feel rushed or pressured!) For your OC's Favorite Weapon, Favorite Animal, Favorite Accessory, & Favorite Color

REVOLUTION | vkook
[Jungkook x cyborg!Taehyung]
— wordcount: 3.8k
— genre: sci-fi/ action/ oneshot/ angst
— summary: Jungkook is on the side of the Resistance, but his heart belongs to the wicked Emperor's right hand. In a world of war, he'll have to choose between saving his people or the cyborg he's fallen so tragically in love with.
— notes: previously posted on army amino as "trust me not"
Space year 3043.
After seizing the throne of Nypso 773T , its android emperor has decided to exterminate all individuals human - the last bearers of free will still standing. To execute his commands, the order of the New Inquisition has been launched. Its wicked ways continue to terrorize the planet, and many humans have gone rogue to avoid death in Nypso's compression pits. Jeon Jungkook - the latest recruit of the Resistance, has been extracted from an Inquisition's camp after a month of captivity. During his stay there, an unexpected fascination with the order's leader has emerged. Now they're torn between duty and attraction, survival and the dire need of love in the robotic arms of Nypso 773T.
Pulling on his hood, Jungkook walked into the subway station where the mass of the automated proletariat was finally retreating to its charging points. The route of line 248 resonated in a pre-recorded audio in several transgalactic languages; the outdated robots and refugees here couldn't afford infixed translation. The next train was in seven minutes. Working machines were being produced without a sense of smell, so the coolants and liquids of the entire quadrant could drain freely, channelled through the platform. Supreme androids and cyborgs could almost tell the difference between fume-saturated air and waste matter. Humans, however, were bound to sense it.
Jungkook travelled with the scraps of a filtering mask over his nose and mouth.
A heavy overcoat protected him from curious eyes. Down its lackluster length, a multitude of pockets were sewn with the purpose of convenience, but the inner one by his right hip weighed with the wired device of a hologram transmitter. The message encrypted on it was intended for the eyes of the Resistance only, and its safe transportation had been entrusted to him. Was it the shortage of confidants or Jungkook's short, yet exceptional devotion to the cause that had brought him here, he couldn't tell. One thing was certain — danger stalked him somewhere in this crowd and it moved with a bullet's speed, disguised in coy metal. All solitude amongst machines was extirpated.
He wasn't alone.
But the field of his vision allowed him to suspect and nothing more. Between the industrial smog and the firearm fume, the human eye was unable to discern too much. Few instruction panels hung low over the heads of the departees, providing the dimmest of illumination in venom-tinted yellow where the light of all other signs failed to stretch out to. Propaganda scrolled through interconnected displays in the skyscraping height.
As the train arrived in virid smoke, drunkenly quivering atop the rusted rails, the mob prepared for departure, loud and on the verge of an electric collapse. In the midst of it Jungkook joined the aggressive momentum and it hauled him to the doors. The informants from Quadrant-3 had warned him about identification scanners — each entrance had been installed two of those, in addition to a memory-extracting mechanism, so that all workers could be wiped clean of cache; Nypso liked its slaves productive.
Blazingly red, the scanning rays licked the identification numbers off all mechanic forearms. Each number consisted of uniquely stringed digits and Nypsoian letters, irreplicable and theft-proof, unless, of course, forcefully extracted. Yet such force was hardly ever applied reversibly.
So when Jungkook lifted his sleeve, baring the tattooed numerals on vulnerable display, he knew he had engraved himself with the ink and blood of another.
Collateral damage, they'd call it — the dismantled, maimed anthropomorphic remains of those who had been sacrificed for the camouflage of the Resistance. Through the scanners and the all-seeing surveillance apparatus Jungkook slithered like a ghost, a phantom of matter but never of face. He seated himself in the vacancy of a secluded section at the back of the train, and watched as the vehicle resurfaced overground.
The halved star of Nypso 337T had begun to roll out of sight. Space wind evaded the thin synthetic atmospheric layers, bringing forth what the code specifics referred to as frostnip. Nights here began with euphoria, beauty amid the blistered flesh of the universe, but escalated just as abruptly. Thousands of beings fell victims to the unforgiving cold. The corpses would be disposed of in the vast abyss of the Omicron Galaxy and left to the mercy of the antigravity and destructive cyclones. Sometimes parts of them would fall back on Nypso with the acid torrents.
The cadaverous rains.
Upon crossing the interquadrant border, the train entered a zone of electric anomaly, causing all working robots to cease operating. Jungkook rose from his uncomfortable seat immediately. He was quick on his feet; he headed to the emergency exit in the back. Moving across a high-up, scaffold-like railway with speed disproportionate to its poor technicity, the vehicle was to reach a rail intersection in a matter of minutes — the only window he'd be provided for a secure escape. The man clutched the transmitter through the fabric of the overcoat. A flicker of utter fright glistened in his eyes, the one a madman's irises would produce before he jumps off to death.
A madman, yes, but not alone in his madness.
Because when he threw himself forth in the open air, he knew he would land in the hands of his allies, the members of the Resistance. With a thump and several Nypsoian curses, Jungkook was caught by an aircraft of the forces from Quadrant-4. The second he regained balance, the pressure in his lungs and brain dispersed to free space for relief. General Kim dismissed the crew to greet him.
He grinned. "Lucky to see you here today. We barely managed to get the plane off the ground with the low temperatures."
"Thank you, sir. Captain Jung wasn't lying 'bout your piloting."
"Don't thank me. Min over there conducted the maneuvers today, the lucky bastard." And Jungkook glanced at the back of the pilot's disheveled head, hair chopped and jet black. "Do you have it?"
Derivative of the devices from before the last technological purge, the hologram transmitter was an antique of its own, coded in a long-lost language. It was technically unhackable. The greatest legacy of its predecessors, though, was the function of restricted access, touch-activated to be precise. When the device came into contact with General Kim's palm, trillions of holographic particles erected the glowing, mapped structure of a hollow sphere.
"The core powerhouse!" Jungkook gasped.
"A precise, high-resolution map of the planet's life source. After all these years of gathering data and risking the wellbeing of our entire kind, it's finally complete. We have the key to taking the emperor down, kid." The corner of the General's mouth quirked up. "We have it."
As if prompted by the glimpse of hope, the graspable salvation of mankind, intermittent flashes of red spread like rashes on the titanium insides of the plane while alarms were triggered in the cockpit. Jungkook tripped as the aircraft went into a sudden dive.
The co-pilot cried out, "Enemy crafts, sir. Attempters FM-14, annihilation mode engaged."
"Min, can you make it to the headquarters?" Kim shouted, tying himself to a seat by the plane wall.
Jungkook was still upright, shifting his weight as if hoverboarding. His eyes followed the attackers as the unmanned Attempters deployed their missiles. With a target on its silver hull, the plane of the Resistance forces looped and spiralled between the Quadrant-4 blockscape similarly to a turbulent projectile. But before even managing to be vocal about the pilot's nonpareil skills, he glimpsed the violent gush of blood from Min's shoulder.
Jungkook yelled, "Captain, you're fucking bleeding!"
"I am?," Min shrugged, reducing the throttle from the plane's inversion, motions still as steady as a surgeon's. "About time I showed these can-openers I can beat them single-handedly."
"The Resistance has evaded all attacks again, commander. I must say the human persistence is exhausting me already."
Left arm spasming from damage, Taehyung replied tremulously, "I dispatched two of our best Attempters their way. They must've anticipated an onrush."
Next to the mechanical grandness, the soul-breaking presence of the emperor, Taehyung appeared like a solitary speck of steel; a cyborg utterly defenseless against his superior. He was second to his leader; the right hand of the radically unique conqueror of Nypso 337T and scion of the mighty Omicron race — undoers of time and space. To support his position and survival, he had been recruited as commander of the New Inquisition.
Over the metal of his palms, there was overmuch human blood. The emperor, however, was still unsatisfied with its amount.
"Their defense cannot withstand our supremacy much longer. Can you perhaps figure out why, commander? Why is humankind bound to die out?"
Some deeply buried piece of Taehyung shattered, knowing that the battle he'd deliberately spared the humans was nothing but a hurdle in the long run of their eradication. All his efforts to decelerate the inevitable — governed not by the remains of his anthropoid body but by those of his human mind — were, ultimately, futile. He'd reset the coordinates of the Attempters, encrypted the outdated frequencies of the Resistance, screened the infiltration of their informant, but at what cost? He hadn't given them advantage but mere false hope.
"Because of its will, of course. The free will of humans will lead them to their ultimate end. But first, it will lead them to me." The android's speech was toneless through the holographic projection, yet his virtual presence diminished all strength of the commander's. "Our high-rank infiltrator in the Resistance has information that an assault on the powerhouse is being plotted. I want all units in position tomorrow. The rebellion must be eliminated instantly."
"Through a strengthened line of defense?"
"A lethal one. There must be no survivors. Obey your system, commander, and your emperor."
"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty."
Bowing to the conquerer of worlds might have felt elevating once; it may have propelled pride, safety and life, yet it only sparked misery in the metal now. Once the hologram had dispersed, Taehyung collapsed in a stroke of electric current. The fine components of his bionic system had experienced pressure unfit for his outdated build, which happened often when machines failed a designated mission. The scheme with the Attempters would cost him pain unlike any other. Pain of both flesh and robotics.
It took him twelve full minutes to regain consciousness. When he finally did, the back of his brain was burnt to charcoal black, as if he could only recall the excruciation of being electrocuted and nothing before it. He was a high-ranking Nypsoian soldier, a breed of hominid warrior blood and light steel tempered in the titanium core of the star of Adastreia, and he remembered his own pain only. Little by little, bits of data deteriorated within him and memories faded away like flashes of a time long-gone.
He was slowly being erased.
Everything he'd done to protect the man he loved on the other side of law backfired right at him. Instead of saving humanity, he slowly ceased to be human.
He needed to hear his voice more than ever.
Even if he couldn't quite retrieve the sound of it.
The jittery projection of Jungkook's face illuminated the entirety of the bunker, and his eyes bore into Taehyung's, expectant, laden with horror. Each of their rare conversations would begin with shared silence. Life was a variable — both had to be prepared for it to assume its last value at any given moment. The signal was horridly damaged as both sides had dialed from their underground hideaways, one right beneath the emperor's throne room, and the other from the fortified catacombs of Quadrant-4.
"I'm sorry I couldn't call earlier, I--"
Jungkook forced a lopsided smile, enough to hurt but not to discourage. "It's okay. You called."
"Are you alright? The Attempters went close and by the time I seized remote control, they'd fired at one of yours. The pilot."
"Min. He's fine. I guess he'd seen worse than your machine guns," The man chuckled softly. "Man, he even fired back, one hand on the panel, and the other holding a BL-544 out the perforated windshield."
Then Jungkook burst into laughter, lighthearted and paranormally unfit in the midst of the misery of all else. His eyes translated into blueish pixels, so Taehyung could barely visualize the mottle of dark-brown and grey they were in the light, or the dual glint of gravely seriousness and daredevilry inside them. At times like this, it was the eyes that made him feel entirely human. His eyes.
Elated for a brief second, Taehyung said, "I wish I could see you. I think my memory is being messed up with, and I'm starting to forget you."
"That's why we call, right? So we don't forget who the real enemy is."
Who was the real enemy?
"They're planning an attack on the core. The arsenal should be distributed by tomorrow at noon, but it'll be no surprise if you already knew that," said Jungkook, voice suddenly thicker. "What's been ordered to the defense forces?"
"A direct confrontation, fast and brutal. He wants all units charged and ready to dispatch anyone at sight. I'll try to talk him out of the melee but I don't know how much I can do about it."
"You've done more than enough already. Just...stay safe. Whole, preferably."
"Okay, I told you, what happened in Apus was an accident. It was a one-time thing. One. Time!"
Jungkook chortled, having Taehyung join him shortly after, both high on the feeling of detachment from everything and everyone. It was the two of them in this conversation, in this little world of theirs, free from barriers and pain and tyranny.
"You too," Taehyung said. "Stay safe."
"Will do. I'll see you at the end of the world, right?"
"See you then. Hey, Jungkook, I just wanted to tell yo--"
But the signal was cut off and the picture turned grainy with empty pixels all of a sudden. The muffled aggression of bangs and kicks brought down the door of Taehyung's secluded bunker and a horde of his own inquisitors rushed in, driven by electricity, bloodthirst and imperial will. The cyborg was taken hold of.
His heavy body writhed in the intruders' grip, but to no avail. In the distance he overheard his former inferiors repeat the protocol of his detainment. Only one kind of seizure required the full unrelenting force of the Inquisition androids.
The one coming directly from the emperor.
As the Resistance soldiers advanced farther into the outer Core, the grip on their assault rifles weakened, wet from the heat accumulated, bewildered by the void of the empty powerhouse. The pulsating, current-pumping heart of Nypso operated under a dome of steam and titanium systems. In its veins surged the lifeblood of an entire civilization, the supreme vigor of the Nypsoian predatory machine and the technology behind its expansive aggression.
Today its heartbeat would flatline once and for all.
Jungkook carried a Proxima L-90 — a relevantly ugly, simple ray weapon meant to inflict moderate damage — with the back of it braced against his underarm, holding the shadows at gunpoint. His face burned under a filtering mask, yet the odds of being violently poisoned were too great to succumb to convenience. Fire in his ribs and steel in his brain, he moved forward.
The promised confrontation of the emperor's forces never happened. General Kim signalled for all units to stand down.
"The motion sensors show movement in our perimeter. 100 meters ahead, 50 sources," he whispered. "Charge your weapons."
But in Jungkook that sparked suspicion so bothersome it twisted his insides, made him want to vomit. Fifty defenders appointed at the most significant structure on the planet — something didn't seem — didn't feel — right. Yet his trust in Taehyung lay unquestioned. He'd spoken to him about a frontal attack and a frontal attack was to be. Nothing but those words could force him forward.
Nothing but the belief that today could change the universe forever.
A swarm of androids emerged from the depths of the powerhouse, wearing imperial armour. They imitated human forms, carried themselves in a human manner, but didn't hesitate in their stride, unlike the Resistance whose fear pierced it through. These were machines without faces, painted in the colors of war and destruction, forged with no soul and no purpose but murder; the inquisitors. And when they charged onwards, every being of flesh shivered in frail mortality. The androids opened immediate fire.
However, the fifty of them were not alone. More crawled out of the corners, the corridors, and every spot dark became a black portal spitting inquisitors. In seconds the Resistance forces were severely outnumbered.
Back against General Kim's, Jungkook tore apart enemies with ray projectiles with insufficient speed. Like demons from neon and metal, like nightmares flooding the innocent mind, the androids burst forth and immobilized the formation of the rebellion. Soon enough, the man was fighting machines with electrocuting blades and bare hands.
"I'm almost out of ammo. We need to get to the main generator and place the bomb," the General shouted as he shot an inquisitor's head through, thus releasing Jungkook from his grip.
"We gotta make our way through."
"I'll help with that!" With one arm immobilized and the other on the trigger of a close-range blaster, Min approached the two. His stubbornness had earned him a spot in the field forces today, but his injury must've weighed him down.
The captain, though, was a survivor.
"Run!" Min cried. "I'll blast whatever follows you."
Jungkook and the General sprinted forward that instant, too overwhelmed with gunfire and smoke and adrenaline to take in the sight of the captain relentlessly throwing himself into the crossfire. As they cleaved the imperial horde, as they fired and slashed their way through — fruits of the flesh in the unhomogenous battle broth — he held back their pursuers for as long as he could. The shrill vox of Min's blaster quietened while they ran, and so did the remainder of the fight, distant but heavy on the brain.
At some point, Jungkook found himself utterly lost in the hypnosis of metal and screams.
Kim snapped him out when they reached a dead end at a corridor intersection. The map led to a hatch in the floor, then to an underground space where the generator was located. When Jungkook pulled the horizontal door open, the General jumped onto the grated platform it revealed. Nightmarish shivers creeped under the former's skin as if on the brim of something horrible and irreversible. Something of monumental grandness, yet something hellbound had been released with their appearance in the Core. Unaware of its specifics, Jungkook descended shortly after, shaken by the feeling of death pricking on his bare nape.
"We have to be quick," General Kim whispered. "The bomb will create an electromagnetic pulse that will disarm all electric systems on the planet. It must be as close to the core as we can get it, so be prepared to do whatever it takes for this to work. Promise me that, Jungkook."
The man wanted to stutter, to assure his comrade that the Resistance is once again in luck and prevailing. But empty promises had no place in his head anymore. Rather, they belonged in the ashes of the man he used to be once; of the world he once used to live in. His answer came pure of all boyish naiveness.
"I promise, sir."
"Good. This way."
Monochrome light, combat boots against the platform. They travelled in silence and dark anticipation. The generator came in sight several meters after, oblivious in its lifeless shell of titanium and wire. The two men entered the holy premises of the inner Core like only heartsick worshippers would — with their heads craving redemption above all.
The bomb was wrapped in cloth — a hastily packaged weapon of mass destruction. The General stripped it bare. His face twitched in untimely satisfaction as he carried it to the top of the generator, whose size extended kilometers under the ground, highest point peaking through a cavity in the grates.
But as the General was activating the mechanism, a splashed, abstract pattern of his blood printed itself onto Jungkook, who remained paralyzed steps away. The laser projectile went right through Kim, exiting his torso clean of guilt and hesitation.
The younger pointed his gun at the distance, at the wide, half-human frame of the attacker, tears in his eyes as he came in the luminescent light.
"Jungkook, put the gun down, please--"
Buy everything within him screamed. "Stand back! I'm warning you! Stand back or I'll fucking shoot you."
Jungkook glanced at the sprawled body of General, eyes then set on Taehyung again. He went feral, wild with betrayal and shock that his mortal stomach could feast on for days. They held each other at gunpoint, lovers in the grip of a war unfought.
"Sir, stay with me. Just hold on."
"Jungkook, listen to me. Put your gun down. Now!"
"No, you listen to me! What have you done?! We've been fighting for this for so long and now that we have a chance to change everything, you turn against your own. We are on the same side, you fool! Help me save him!"
"I'm afraid I can't," Taehyung replied, voice stern like never before. "I can't help you anymore. I've done so much for humans and I've never been one, never will be. I am who I am and I've picked a side already. I picked the one I belong to."
"I thought we belonged together."
The bomb lay semi activated next to Kim. All that stood between it and Jungkook was his unwavering machine of a lover, the leader of the Inquisition with only half flesh, half heart. And neither of the two were willing to surrender now.
Not when the love of each was at stake.
"We can't both leave this room, Jungkook. One of us will have to shoot. It's either me or you on the count of three."
"I would've died and killed for you!"
"One."
"I wanted a future with you, Taehyung!"
"Two."
"I loved you!"
"Three. I still do."
And Jungkook collapsed, trapped between the corpses of his friend and lover, finger on the trigger that had failed to protect the former and ended the latter. Tears welled in his black eyes as he enabled the electromagnetic explosive.
The faith of the universe rested in his unsteady hands. His whole world, however, had fallen cold in his feet.
In the very last seconds of Nypso, he wished to have never set foot on the goddamned planet of death and destruction.

Can I get Lamia and skekmal interactions. And by "interactions" I mean, Lamia trying frantically not to die, skekmal going full force on the murder mode , and the reader screaming something along the lines of "STOP IT YOU IDIOTS"
ITS REALLY HITTING THE FAN, ANON.....
[SkekMal x reader x lamia]
“Thanks for coming out here with me, Lamia.” You said, looking over at them and the way their big dark eyes looked white with moon and starlight. “You didn’t have to but... I’m really glad you did. We’ve been through a lot and I feel like you put up with so much and I feel so bad sometimes... I couldn’t have done tis without you but I’m still so sorry for all the t-”
They slowly scooped up your hand and held it between theirs, glancing down before looking back up at you. Even with the stark lightight of the nighttime forest, their cheeks were rosy.
“You don’t need to feel bad, (y/n). Anywhere you go, I’d gladly follow by your side.” They said and kissed your knuckle softly. Your face heated up. “I’m just glad I’m here with you. You’re my best friend, (y/n).”
The scene played over and over in SkekMal’s head, raising his blood pressure and the burning feeling within until he was sure his blood boiled beneath his skin. He snarled as he tore through the underbrush, clawing through branches and leaves looking for where Lamia had scampered off to. They had a brief confrontation, Lamia had gotten bold, and SkekMal... Well, SkekMal finally snapped.
The Hunter was done with the niceties. Either you’d come along willingly when he exterminated this pest or you wouldn’t. He didn’t care about which it would be right now, all he cared about was finding that damn human and putting a knife in that overactive heart of theirs.
Lamia, from beneath a fallen tree, was trying to get a hold of their rapid breathing and figure out if those footsteps searching for them were yours or SkekMal’s. Their blood ran cold and hot and cold again... Their head spun and every time they looked at their hands they seemed to blur with how hard they shook. Was this how Honey felt when SkekMal struck them down? Or did they not see him coming.... Would you grieve them the way Argyris did? What would SkekMal do to you?
What would the Hunter do to (y/n). That’s the question that reigned harder on their mind than whatever punishment he could possibly deliver to them. What would he do to you... and how much deja vu they felt.
This was familiar.
Suddenly that changed everything.
There was a familiar anger welling up inside the human. Was there no place in this universe they could escape the fear of being killed for who they fell in love with!? Was there no place in this world or the next they’d ever be free from that!? How dare SkekMal. How dare he make them relive something that soured their own home for them. How dare he. Love was the one driving force in Lamia’s life. Love for being alive. Love for themself. Love for (y/n). It was a faltering yet unconditional thing that kept them alive.
“SKEKMAL!” They stood up and shouted. They weren’t going to sit there and cower. If he wanted to end them he could. He could do it in the spirit of every single person back on earth who threatened it and never followed through. He could try and succeed, or Lamia would fight back and end him the way they wished they could back on earth for everyone who wasn’t as lucky as them.
SkekMal barreled towards the voice, claws bared, jaws snapping, daggers brandished. Finally, his prey had revealed themself. They stood, stupid and brave as if their doll like self could take him on.
How dare they. How dare they poison these woods with their presence and get in the damn way of everything he wanted. How dare they stand between him and his hunt. His hunt for strength, his hunt to survive, his hunt for (y/n). It was an elusive yet unrelenting thing that kept him alive. The one driving force in SkekMal’s life, the only damn thing he had going for him was this never ending pursuit of his and how dare Lamia try to stop him. How dare they deny him.
Now, they’d become part of the very thing they tried to impede. This time, as his prey.
The Hunter roared, rearing back his knife before you threw yourself between them.
“STOP!” You shouted and the Hunter had no choice but to, lest the fall of his dagger continue and pierce your chest rather than theirs. “Stop...” You echoed, quieter, hoarser. You glanced over your shoulder at an equally stunned Lamia clutching their beltknife.
“Both of you... Just stop.”
The forest seemed to hold its breath.

From THIS, for @megumi-tan
Note: Most of them have been thought with a Illidan/Maiev relationship, even if it isn’t explicitly told. So, if you have doubt about it, you can assume that there is something between them but I simply decided to talk about something else.
Enjoy!
Heartstone/Yu-Gi-Oh:
Maiev is playing only with a DH deck and is actually a "mysterious" participant because she doesn't want to admit using it.
Illidan was mostly using a Mage deck but then, felt the pressure to change to a DH one.
Illidan discovers that Maiev is the one who destroy everyone with the DH deck and he decides to blackmail her about it.
Maiev, a little ashamed to play with the DH deck, has no other choice but to accept the blackmail, expecting Illidan to want her to lose in the tournament but instead, they just spend time together and it's mostly for Illidan to analyze Maiev's way of playing to destroy her when they will be adversary.
The final match is between Illidan and Maiev (obviously) and they just keep taunting each other. But they give one impressive fight and the winner cannot be guessed until the very end.
Heroes of the Storm:
I unfortunately don’t know enough about the game to do that prompt ^^’
High priestess Maiev:
Tyrande would still have been chosen as the High Priestess but right after the end of the War of the Ancient, Malfurion became the Betrayer and as Illidan is lost and probably dead, she decides to put Maiev as the High Priestess while she becomes a Warden to stay with Malfurion.
Tyrande is the one who would release Malfurion, as he was technically the one who put an end to the War of the Ancient, but he goes rogue and try to harness the power of the Emerald Dream to gain in power and exterminate the Legion. Tyrande has no other choice but to kill him herself and after that, the Night Elves use a part of the power Malfurion was harnesting to blow up Archimonde, unfortunately taking Nordrassil with it. After that, Tyrande, who has nothing left, become Maiev’s personal bodyguard.
Within the timeline of Legion, when she hears about the news that Suramar survived and its citizens too, Maiev takes the decision to establish the contact and free the city from the Legion by herself. By the time the War of the Ancient started, she was living there and working in the Temple of Elune (the one on the Broken Shore) and Illidan was working as a mage for Elisande. She goes frontline, despite that she has to trust the adventurers to sneak in with the help of Thalyssra.
Thalyssra isn’t alone in her fight against Elisande and it’s said that inside the city, there’s a Nightborn who had been working for the Grand Magistrix’s demise for years but she doesn’t believe he is a real threat and imprisoned him inside the city's borders. From there, he’s organising a resistance and does his best to help Thalyssra. Of course, Maiev wants to meet him to see how she can help if she puts the Kaldorei’s forces against Elisande. Accompanied by Tyrande, she sneaks into the city and finally meet him. Only to discover that it’s Illidan, transformed in a Nightborn after getting stuck under the protective shield over ten thousands years ago.
To keep him within the city because he’s one of the more powerful mage of the city (and that she probably has a crush on him), Elisande put a spell on him that literally blocks him at the borders of the shield and we she gets killed, despite that Illidan does everything to get her to remove the spell, neither Elisande nor her death canceled it. It’s Maiev, praying to Elune, who remove the magical handcuff, finally freeing him of Suramar.
Step-siblings:
Every times Jarod gets too close to any of the Stormrage twins, Maiev come to pick him up and bring him away, glaring deadly at whoever it was.
Maiev was the more vocal over not wanting to be sibling with the Stormrage. Illidan was well decided to “gently” prank Maiev every times she is unpleasant with any of them. Malfurion doesn’t like the situation that much, but doesn’t dare to say anything, but most of Illidan’s prank actually come from him. Jarod don’t see any problems in any of this and don’t understand why Maiev react so badly.
Strangely enough, Maiev is supportive of Illidan’s mage vocation and often try to push him to be honest and tell the family he don’t want to be a druid.
When the twins realizes that Maiev is actually a really good addition to their prankster team, nothing stop them. Malfurion finds the plan; Maiev executes it; Illidan gets them out of trouble.
Malfurion and Tyrande get together quite quickly after Maiev decided that she didn’t want to spend years watching some petty love drama and put back some senses in their head. Illidan didn’t take it well but Maiev punched him back to reality (literally).
The orphan baby:
There’s a game of “you”, “no, you”, “YOU!”, “I said you!” going on between them to know which one will take care of the baby.
When the baby starts crying, Illidan goes full Illidad mode and Maiev has a moment of “Oh shit, that’s cute” before going back to her normal self and groaning about everything.
They agree on bringing them to Khadgar, because Khadgar is a human and he must know what to do, but when they get to him, Khadgar can only tell them that the best idea is to bring the child to the orphanage of Dalaran and they do that.
Illidan feels a little bad to have dropped the baby there without more than a second thoughts and decide to at least visit the baby from time to time. He’s extremely surprised to see that Maiev seemed to have the same idea as him and got there first.
They spend the day, bickering, but mostly taking care of the baby, even getting thanked by the Orphanage’s lady because there so much more orphans with the Legion’s invasion and she doing her best to take care of everyone but it’s really hard. By the end of the day, they silently agree to come back the next day.
Illidan loses his power and sight:
On the moment, almost everyone tried to convince him that there was another way and that he didn’t have to, but he brushes it off, telling them that it was nothing and that if it had to be done, then so be it. He told them he would be fine. He isn’t.
He’s spending all of his time, alone and now in the dark for good. Stuck in his thoughts, he regrets a lot but if someone come to talk to him, he’s joking and acting as if it wasn’t damaging him. He plays it so well that almost no one try to see if he’s really well or not. But for Maiev.
Having watched him for over ten thousands years, she can see that he isn’t alright at all and that all that joking is just a front. Once he’s alone, she goes to confront him about it. At first, she is angry and her speech shows it. But the angrier she is, the more Illidan denies being unwell and finally, Maiev realizes she’s taking the wrong path with him. She gets next to him and start speaking more softly, explaining to him that she knows him well enough to know he’s not fine and that she just wants to help him. He might have sacrificed his powers and sight, but it doesn’t mean he sacrificed his life. He ends up in her arms, crying.
Discreetly, Maiev begun to help Illidan to adjust to his new life. Wandering around without bumping in everything; learning to read in a special writing; doing some everyday life tasks. People around him can see that something had changed within Illidan but they don’t really dare to say anything.
At some point, Illidan decides to tell Maiev how sorry he is for everything that happened because of him and the decisions he took. All through the speech, she’s holding his hands.
WoD Alternate Azeroth Tyrande:
Illidan believes it’s a prank at first and obviously rejects her because he doesn’t want to in trouble more than he usually is. Then, he sees the Tyrande from his timeline and realizes there are two of them.
He’s extremely conflicted because on one hand, that WoD!Tyrande seems really genuine in her love for him, but on the other hand, he’s pretty sure he had given up all hope to see it happening and doesn’t really have feelings for her anymore.
Maiev offers to kill that Tyrande, as they already have their own.
Illidan is really tempted to gibe WoD!Tyrande a chance, but then, when he asks what happened to him in that timeline, he discovers that he still stuck in Barrow Deeps despite that what should have been the opening of the Dark Portal was long ago.
Then, Illidan decides that his new mission is to free his other self and let him with WoD!Tyrande, like that, it will be easier with his own feelings.
WoD Alternate Azeroth Maiev:
At first, Illidan doesn’t notice that it isn’t the Maiev from his timeline and he openly flirts back in hope to destabilize her but it only makes things worse.
When Maiev discovers the existence of WoD!Maiev, she feels extremely jealous over how she is open about her feelings and that actually, Illidan seems to be somewhat accepting of them. She never thought she would want to kill herself that bad. Thankfully, WoD!Maiev would fill the victim’s role perfectly.
Maiev, obviously, doesn’t admit her own feelings for Illidan and keep bad mouthing the other Maiev and how she cannot be trusted if she loves Illidan, that she is dangerous and crazy, while insulting Illidan a little because that’s how she shows that she loves him. Illidan thinks he noticed the jealousy coming from Maiev but he doesn’t dare to say anything because she still has knives on her.
Illidan doesn’t really like what is happening. One Maiev was enough for him to deal with and you can see him trying to escape the two women through Dalaran and the Broken Shore. At some point, he’s so desperate that he begs Khadgar to sheep him to hide him from them.
Illidan wakes up one morning with both Maiev cuddling him after they sneaked in his tent during the night and he has no other choices but to accept that new life.
Competing journalist:
The popularity of both journal is mainly made by the competition between Illidan and Maiev, this is why they still haven’t been fired from their jobs (and they do good job too).
Maiev tends to format her texts to leave out messages to Illidan, mostly calling him out or straight up insulting him. It’s now a game in her articles to find the secret message.
Illidan, more straight-forward, tends to bad mouth some “unknown” person in his articles. He pretends he’s playing a role with an intervenant who isn’t based on anyone but strangely enough, that “mysterious intervenant” seems to always reply to Maiev’s last articles.
At some point, Illidan decides to drop some bomb to boost the sales of his journals and let it slip that he might be in love with Maiev and he has a good laugh when he reads some reaction that the readers had. What he wasn’t expecting, is Maiev showing up at his house making a scene because how dare he saying such thing through some coded messages and not directly in her face. She obviously pretends not having feelings whatsoever, but why would he do that anyway?
They get on some agreement where they start to work together on all of their articles to create some incredible story that will boost the sales of both journals. And maybe that the love story that are creating isn’t entirely invented.
Anime school setting:
Maiev is the Student Council President and she’s is making sure that everyone is respecting the rules and she is almost feared by the students. Illidan is one of the bad boy of the school “too cool for school” kind of guy, who’s mostly spending his time trying to avoid classes and can be found outside school intimidating some other’s school gang. But he’s also one of the top students when it comes to grades and it frustrates a lot of people.
One day, as Maiev catch Illidan and his little gang trying to sneak out of school again, she defies him to a fight, telling him that the first to give up lose. If Maiev wins, Illidan is forced to go back to class and never try to sneak out again, becoming an exemplary student. If Illidan wins, he wins a pass to do whatever the hell he wants until the end of the school’s year and Maiev cannot say anything about it.
Illidan just laughs at that challenge and already see himself winning and even decides to be gentle with Maiev. At soon as the fight starts, she sends him on the floor and locks him in a position where he cannot move at all. Maiev whispers to him that he shouldn’t have underestimated her, and that if she had chosen a fight, it was because she knew she would win. At the same time, Illidan can see something new shining in her eyes and he straight up fall in love then, announce that Maiev had won.
After that day, not only is Maiev even more feared by the students, but Illidan is now causing less trouble than before. At least to the others students. Now, he’s spending all of his time bothering Maiev, mostly to recruit her into his little gang, knowing that he will never lose again if she is by his side. She’s annoyed, a lot, but at the same time, he’s also kind of taking care of her, bringing her foods, helping her when some students are making troubles. He’s pretending to have become her personal bodyguard, but anyone who saw the fight between them knows that it’s a lie.
Maiev ends up accepting to join him into a gang fight with a rival school, but only if her identity is hidden because there’s no way she will let anyone knows that she enjoy fighting actually. The “Illidari”, like they call themselves, looks at that newcomer suspiciously, but they don’t dare to say anything. They win, easily, and Maiev, who never had so much fun in years, is completely ready to join Illidan again for some fights, still hidden though.
IRL WoW Player:
Maiev is a Night Elf Rogue. She isn’t too much for PvP, always acting as if that part of herself is now behind her, but if you complain in the chat that someone is ganking you, she immediately groups you and she comes to annihilate the ganker. She then proceed to make them live hell until they log off. During the raid, you barely hear her on the vocal but when she speaks, it’s mostly to taunt Illidan about his gameplay, or to reminds of some mechanics.
Illidan is Night Elf Demon Hunter doing DPS. Big, big fan of Warcraft 3, he had been crying about DH not being playable since Vanilla and in the meantime, he was playing a human mage and when Cataclysm rolled in, he race changed to a Night Elf. When the DH had been finally announced for Legion, he pre-ordered the game at the second it was available and had been insufferable on the vocal of the guild for a long time. During the raid, he’s often telling about his life in between boss and only shut up once it the time to fight the boss.
Maiev and Illidan are constantly fighting over who’s the biggest DPS between the two, and if Illidan has to switch tank for a fight, you can hear Maiev whining about it because she can’t prove that she better than him. In those case, she often defy him in a duel to shows who’s the best between them.
The guild changed a lot after all those years but something sure, is that Maiev and Illidan knew each other since the beginning and despite that they seems to not get along with all their bickering, they always been seen together, always joining the same guild. Strangely enough, they have some kind of joke in vocal where Maiev is saying that she will punch Illidan, only to hear him immediately reacting as if he had really been punched. But more strangely, is that sometimes, they would swear they can hear Maiev’s voice coming from Illidan’s mic, when she is muted. But the guildmates don’t dare to ask anything about their privates life.
When they took down Argus in mythic, Maiev misclicked the mute option and all of the guild got the pleasure to hear how Illidan and Maiev were going to celebrate that victory and they only realized that they weren’t muted when Khadgar coughed loud enough to be heard through the headphone. Maiev didn’t speak at all from the rest of the evening and Illidan was barely speaking too, and if he did, you could hear the embarrassment in his voice.

Concept: Exterminator Mode for Pressure (Part 2)
Welcome to the second half of the Exterminator Mode concept post! If you haven't read part 1 yet, please do (it has very much needed context).
In this post I'll explain the post-mode consequences and the badges you would obtain if this thing was real.
Regret Mode: the consequences of killing everyone in the whole Hadal Blacksite
Done with killing your targets? GOOD!
All that is left to do is grab the crystal, go through the Ridge with only worrying about Squiddles and Wall Dwellers (that's why reading Part 1 before this post is important!), repair the cables without a worry in the world and arrive at the pickup site!
Once you're in the submarine, you will meet Mr. Lopee again:
"Congratulations, young one! You've done it. Hope you've enjoyed your deadly stroll, because you're about to taste Hell. What? You thought all you had to pay was the initial fee? Oh, you naive, little goldfish: you remember your own deaths, and so do they!"
Ruh Roh! Looks like you'll have to strap in for the next three runs, for those will be in Regret Mode! This is what is going to happen:
Eyefestation will appear more frequently, and there will be chance it'll appear in Enraged mode. From the speaker it will call you a murderer and a coward for not looking into the eyes of your victim.
p.A.I.nter will have an aggressive demeanor towards you, its voicelines stripped of its usual playful snarkyness. Eyefestation Gauntlets and Turret rooms will appear more frequently
When trying to interact with the Imaginary Friend's remote, the following message will play: "Due to unforeseen events, Imaginary Friend Remote(TM) has halted their services as of now. We apologize for the inconvenience, we will reactivate the service as soon as possible." Nothing happens after that
Sebastian will not open his shop for you, will yell at you to go away instead. If trying to break in with glitches, you will be shot by Sebastian as soon as the game detects that you're in the shop.
The room to the Exterminator Kit will stay locked for the remaining of the Regret Mode runs.
Mr. Lopee will be the one presenting you with documents in case you die, as well as take any classified documents you might find.
The existance of Regret Mode, a modifier that cannot be overrideable unless you play three runs (regardless of death or not), exists to debuff the Exterminator Mode feature and to avoid it being overused by players (something that happens in Yandere Simulator with the Genocide Ending). It also serves as a little challenge to "redeem" yourself in the eyes of the entities.
Once you die for the first time after Regret Mode ends (so 4th death after completing Exterminator Mode), you will finally meet Sebastian to give you the document. He will have a special voiceline for this occasion:
"Sigh... He told me I had to go back to my old tasks, which means having to interact with you... Let me be clear, "friend": I haven't forgiven you for what you've done. But he is leaving me no choice. Now, be fast with reading your document and get out of my sight."
Exterminator Mode: Badges!
Final part of the concept is the badges! Might design some someday, for now there's only a list:
Here comes the Reaper: activate Extermination Mode for the first time
Gone fishing: kill Angler and its variants at least once
STAY DOWN!: kill Pandemonium
I dare you to look at me again, fool!: kill Eyefestation
The Bad Guest: kill the Good People
Imaginary Friend, Real Betrayer: kill the Imaginary Friend
ERROR 404: Life.exe Not Found: kill the p.A.I.nter
It's Payback time: kill Sebastian
Mutual Pillaging: take everything in Sebastian's shop after killing him
A deadly meal: kill the Searchlight
Bad Hunter: In the Ridge, die to Mr. Lopee after failing to kill all the targets
Extra killings: kill Squiddles and Wall Dwellers for a total of 10 times
Woah, that's a bit over the top: kill Squiddles and Wall Dwellers for a total of 50 times
...Was it really necessary?: kill Squiddles and Wall Dwellers for a total of 100 times
The real monster was you all along: complete Exterminator Mode for the first time
A debt etched in blood: start a run in Regret Mode for the first time
Access Denied: get denied entrance to Sebastian's shop
This was supposed to be a punishment, for Urbanshade's sake!: win a run in Regret Mode
Fine, we forgive you (kinda): complete three runs in Regret Mode, deactivating it until next Exterminator Run
And that's all! Thank you for reading the posts! Let me know what do you think about this concepts, and if you have any suggestions!

OPM manga chapter 119 Review: A Conspiracy?
Buckle up, this review gets long. I was away on family business for a few days so I missed this one’s drop. It’s meant though that I’ve had longer to ponder my thoughts.
Core take away for me is that like Hellfire Flame and Gale Wind trying to recruit Sonic set us up to better understand the Ninja arc when it showed up in the webcomic, this ‘glimpse behind the scenes’ at the conspiracies brewing sight unseen is foundation for what will burst into the open later, apparently from nowhere.
Anyway, onto the review. Much more under the cut. First though, One-Shotter is still alive! Looks like his mechanised parts are much more extensive than initially appeared.
I tell you, it doesn’t pay to be a cyborg hero in OPM. It’s just inviting gratuitous cruelty into your life.
Soon Gets Sooner
This chapter, I honestly expected Drive Knight to just leave with Nyan and stay the international Cyborg of Mystery he'd been to date. But he stuck around to talk to Sekingar and what we got was a glimpse indeed to the mystery plot that has been brewing from the very start.
We find out just why Drive Knight has a 100% win record: he never, ever fights unless he has carefully studied and formulated an excellent battle plan. Even if it means sacrificing his fellow heroes like pawns.
And then things get weird. After offering data on the strong monsters in the MA, Drive Knight changes the subject to asking Sekingar about the state of the Hero Association, being very interested in just which capable heroes were left available to respond and whether or not Blast was likely to attend if the Hero Association were attacked. And then Drive Knight went into full tin-foil hat conspiracy mode, painting the loss of the Metal Knight as a deliberate action by Dr Bofoi to gift the Monster Association with the way to take out the Hero Association.
When Sekingar spoke of not expecting the support heroes to carry out their mission without injury, I’m sure he couldn’t have imagined ending up a casualty. When he tries to call the Hero Association to check, none other than G5 shows up to shoot his hand off. As G5 approaches, Drive Knight makes no move to either attack G5, claiming lack of power, nor to protect Sekingar. Even in extremis though, Sekingar is still thinking about the support team, the hostage, and what action he could yet take. Truly, a hero is being forged before our eyes. He just has to survive the experience.
‘Why not me?’ That’s the central question heroes ask themselves.
Fee, Fi, Do, Fum, Cinderella's At The Ball
We'd seen Garou, who I'd dubbed Sleeping Beauty awaken from his unconsciousness. With a roar, he pummelled PPP into the ground.
Cyborg Cinderella, whom we'd left vacuuming and washing dishes while the others went ahead, may be attending the ball late, but his entrance was no less spectacular. With timing worthy of Saitama himself, just in time, one mighty kick all but split G5 in half, arriving so fast the robot barely had time to register his presence. It's interesting what summoned him; Saitama's punch may have gotten his attention, but it was G5's energy signature that really got him on scene.
Insane kicks, flips -- and upgrades
Kuseno magic extends to clothes: the last time he used Jet Drive Arrow, he ended up naked. Now Genos isn't just very fashionably dressed, but his raiments are fire-resistant and wonderfully form-hugging. Until the clock strikes twelve (or ten in his case), he is here to cut some terrifying shapes.
And now all the pieces are in play.
The chapter ends suddenly and ominously. On one side, we have Genos asking, looking about as cunning as a newborn lamb, what’s going on:
On the other, if it’s possible for an expressionless face to look unamused, then the very cunning Drive Knight looks most unamused:
Meta: “The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more. No less.”
-- from the webcomic ‘Schlock Mercenary’ (more here)
I’d wondered why ONE had split Genos off from the rest, in difference to the was he’d gone together with the rest in the webcomic. It was definite that ONE intended to test Genos in a situation where he had no support, bu the potential for him to discover something new and relevant to his quest is the last thing I expected.
A peek behind the scenes indeed! Where from and why Genos came to fetch up at Saitama’s door in chapter 7, telling a tale of evil cyborgs and total extermination, we know not. It’s seemed increasingly far-fetched as nearly nothing happened with that storyline and the monsters we meet have nothing to do with the sort of intelligences behind any such cyborg. It’s led to some, too many, fans claiming that in that absence the ‘mad’ cyborg must be Genos himself -- in a twist of logic too stupid for real life [Then again, the typical SF story seems to be written by an individual who never met an actual human being...]. I don’t know about the veracity of 90% of what Drive Knight said, but there is a conspiracy indeed.
So, now we get to understand a bit more about Drive Knight. It’s something I’ve long wondered about:
The thing about Drive Knight is that he hasn't told us who he is yet. At present, he's a blank slate for whom many alignments are possible without betraying who he is. He could be entirely a hero, just acting in ways that are more independent than most would appreciate. He could be a member of The Organization, acting as a mole in the Hero Association. He could be an entirely amoral person, aligning himself to one group or another as suits his goals and all would be consistent with what we don't know about him. Once he declares who he is, we'll be down to many fewer possibilities. -- myself, Reddit post
“Everything that can be used must be used.” With that, Drive Knight has finally told us who he is. He is highly calculating and will use anything he can to achieve his ends. At the expense of anyone and anything.
What to make of all of this? One thing we can be certain of. Drive Knight really hates Bofoi, considers him a threat and reads the worst possible motives into his actions. He wastes no time in trying to sew suspicion about Bofoi whenever possible. Why? We don’t know.
At its most benign, Drive Knight may be like Zombieman and the House of Evolution, seeing evil in Metal Knight and a grand conspiracy where none actually exists. A less benign possibility is that Drive Knight may be projecting his ambitions onto Metal Knight and describing what he fears Metal Knight has in possession in order to thwart them (whoever ‘them’ is).
Since we as readers have a quasi-omniscient view of the story, we know that quite a lot of what Drive Knight said about Metal Knight is factually wrong. We know that he is wrong bout the circumstances under which Bofoi lost the Metal Knight. We know that he is wrong about its fate. We know most of all that he is absolutely wrong about Bofoi wanting the capable heroes scattered or defeated. Dr. Bofoi has been furious with the Hero Association executives for risking the lives of any heroes raiding the Monster Association precisely because he feared what might happen if the ranks of the heroes were thinned.
Interesting that G5 is definitely its own entity! Once I realised that the tactical transformations formed around Drive Knight, I’d started to entertain the possibility that the two of them were the same. That said...
I could well understand Drive Knight having done his own work to understand the nature of the strong monsters actually in the Monster Association base. However, there is one piece of information G5 has that it could not have reasonably obtained without Drive Knight sharing it.
When they ran off a second time, they ran off separately. More pertinently, there’s no reason for G5 to show Sekingar this information: it puts psychological pressure on him, but if G5 just wants to kill him, there’s no point to it. Instead, Drive Knight drawing attention to the support team and G5 drawing attention to the hostage act as a double-team interrogation to see if Sekingar has some way yet of reaching Blast in time of most extreme need.
We’ve also learned that Blast is all but retired. It falls into line with what we've gleaned from the webcomic and suggests that he's quite old.
He's just a poor boy from a poor family: spare him his life! (and limbs)
Dr Kuseno's occasionally prodding Genos to not forget his primary task of finding the 'mad' cyborg, as well as his warning not to fight it alone both make great sense. In OPM, you get good at what you actually practice. Fighting monsters as a hero has been very useful for Genos developing raw fighting prowess. It has done nothing to prepare him to face the cruel, conniving, and creative people that the not-quite-mad cyborg and those behind him are. Watching Genos ask straightforwardly what the situation and contrasting it to Drive Knight's complicated narrative was to realise how painfully naive Genos is.
It's all very well to counsel non-engagement, but you deal with the monster before you: situations aren't neat and don't wait until you feel prepared. I'd hoped for another conversation between Genos and Drive Knight but this looks far more dangerous. I've no doubt that Genos won't die, but his participation in this battle could be VERY short.
So many ways this story could wend. A few that come to mind:
The most tragic:Drive Knight convinces Genos of his predicament, perhaps offering data on the cadres as a sweetener and Genos escorts him and the fallen heroes out of the war zone. As soon as Drive Knight is sure Genos is safely underground, he'll kill Sekingar... and probably the support heroes into the bargain. If he burns them, the only fire-wielder known is Genos. If he's really clever, catching up with Waganma and Food Battler, dragging them back and burning them too creates a compelling narrative of Genos (already suspected of colluding with the monsters) waylaying the support heroes as they tried to retreat and killing them all. Drive Knight can show up at the Hero Association and continue his activities. No witnesses, a convenient scapegoat, and near total freedom to carry on his agenda.
Mortal combat. No matter what changes to the webcomic ONE has planned, Genos isn't about to get killed, so Drive Knight is either going to have to run for it or else get killed. Knowing who Drive Knight is, there is no possibility that he would defeat Genos and leave the latter alive -- even if he were that careless, Genos announcing that any enemy that gives him trouble will find that he comes back very quickly and very much stronger would put paid to that. (yes, he’s so naive!) Either way, Drive Knight won't be working as a hero any longer. For Genos, victory is likely to be expensive -- he runs the risk of sustaining critical damage, which will force him to retreat, or of wasting precious, precious energy that he could really use later. Very interesting repercussions will definitely follow.
Hit him in the heroism. Drive Knight could use the heroes and Sekingar as hostages and get Genos to allow him to leave unmolested. He won't be coming back to the HA but it looks like he knows all he needs to. Genos won't like it, but as a person who has long established his willingness to take incredible punishment to protect others from harm, he won't have any other course of action. I suspect that this is the most likely outcome.
Whatever actually happens! Only ONE (and Murata) know. I know I need the next instalment!
Bonus question. Where is the cat? Drive Knight dropped it when G5 showed up and it hasn't been in evidence since.

Israel of course figures in the bid to label Jews white. I’m afraid to say that once again the left, (and Israel haters of all creeds and ethnicities), are holding hands and dancing with Nazis in a waltz that treads on Jews.

Cautious Hero: Thoughts on Episode 7
This will be a general reaction to episode 7 and an analysis of the source of Seiya’s caution and the effects of Rista’s position as goddess. This episode finally gave us some insight on Seiya’s caution, which leads me to think he really is a caring person deep down. We also saw Rista get some criticism for her actions from a human’s point of view.
I was actually a little shocked by how bloody it was when they showed the soldiers getting murdered by the demon fly people. It kind of made me realize, even though I already knew, that this show could be serious when it wants to. This time’s essay is about episode 7. And oh boy, did they drop some bombs on us.
And all of them were in a single scene. Namely, the strategy meeting Seiya and the others had with Rosalie and the soldiers. Let’s get right to it.
Seiya Chooses His Words Carefully
First off, in typical Seiya fashion, he announced that they won’t be attacking the demon flies yet. He’ll be leaving to the Divine Realm to train. Here’s his next interaction with Rosalie on that:
Rosalie: You’re planning to just abandon us?!
Seiya: I’m just leaving. Definitely leaving.
So, he didn’t confirm her accusation. He never said that he was abandoning them. All he said was that he wanted to go back to the Divine Realm to train so he’d be ready to fight the flies, because “at the moment, [they] have no chance of winning.”
Rista: The Support Goddess
The next problem came up when Seiya said he had observed the fight earlier, so he didn’t need a strategy meeting. Rosalie, rightfully, I’d say, was quite angry that he, the hero, had watched and done nothing as hundreds died.
As I said in my last post about episodes 1-6, Rista and Seiya are growing closer and starting to understand and influence each other. So Rista comes in here to defend him:
Rista: No, it’s not like that! We wanted to help, but at the time, it was already too late.
Rosalie: It’s not about being in time or too late, helping or not helping! I’m asking if the hero saw what happened and did nothing about it!
The Reason for Seiya’s Caution
And now here’s where Seiya’s response gets interesting.
Seiya: You ask the strangest questions. In cases where nothing you do will help, nothing can be done.
Rosalie: My men were killed by demons! As a hero, doesn’t that affect you?
Seiya: What good will being affected do?
During this above exchange, we only see the back of his shoulder. Seiya says the following. We finally see his face, and it’s this one:
“Times like those are precisely when you remain calm and act with caution."
We’ve seen him in situations where lives are on the line before. He’s the only one capable of saving them. It’s a lot of pressure, and up until episode six, Rista had always tried to convince him to go sooner, to go fight right now, lives are in danger right now. He always responded calmly and always insisted that he train and prepare properly. Remember when Rista accused him of just being afraid, and he didn’t answer her?
Last time, I had guessed that his caution stemmed from some kind of fear. What kind exactly, I don’t know yet, but we finally get a hint of it in this scene.
Rosalie says, “This man is no hero! He’s nothing but a coward!”
Pretty similar to what Rista was saying in episode 2, as seen above. But here’s what she says this time:
“Rosalie, Seiya’s prudence has gotten us through all sorts of predicaments. When this hero is completely ready is when the Demon Lord’s aerial forces led by Beel Bub will be exterminated. So could I please ask you to wait one hour until his training is finished?”
Just as Rista’s meme-worthy faces are expressive, the ones she makes in what I shall hereby dub “compassion mode” are just as expressive and shouldn’t be ignored, as I think they are one of the windows to the soul of her character.
In response to Rista, Rosalie says, “How can I believe you?” Cue Rista’s exasperated face as she calls her stubborn, but then Rosalie reminds her that a hundred of her soldiers were killed. Rista immediately snaps back into compassion mode, struck.
These were human lives gone, and Rista couldn’t have done anything about it. She is after all, a support goddess, and can’t fight on her own. She says that all the time. So of course she can’t ask Rosalie to wait, to sit back and do nothing, because Rista herself knows the frustration of being helpless.
And I know, even if we don’t have specific stories straight from his mouth yet, Seiya knows it too. All too well. But wait. He won’t say anything yet, and Rosalie’s not done with Rista yet either.
The Wall Between Rista and Humans
Rosalie: “Do you know how that feels?”
Rista: “O-of course. It is a terribly tragic thing to go through.
Rosalie: “There’s no way a being who transcends mortality can understand the preciousness of life. Goddesses can’t die; you live forever, don’t you?
Rista: “W-well, that is true…”
Rosalie: “So don’t speak of the finite if you’re infinite!”
And Rista backs down, shuts down, defeated because it’s true, she can’t die. Remember, my opinion on Rista is that she’s not all that confident in herself. She’s not a “full-fledged goddess” yet, she’s a child compared to everyone she knows. But she’s a healing goddess, and has a soft spot for humans, who are weak and mortal, who get hurt easily and need the power of a goddess like her. With humans who worship her, she feels capable. She feels reliable. She feels like she can actually do something worthwhile.
But here’s this human saying that Rista can never be one of them, that she can never truly understand them because they are so fundamentally different. It will never happen.
Compassionate Rista who’s shown a lot of care and concern towards humans, who can’t stand it when humans die and she can’t help, was told that she could never understand how precious life is.
But Rista, because she’s compassionate and wants to understand, can’t argue back. Rosalie’s right, she can’t die. Anything she says will just make it worse. So she just… stops.
But now Seiya comes in. He won’t let Rosalie off easy. Maybe he was supporting Rista, backing her up. Maybe he was just mad at Rosalie, and couldn’t let it go. Or maybe it was both. But either way, he steps in and says this to Rosalie:
“You’re the one who’s not fit to talk about human life.”
“Your soldiers didn’t just get killed. You killed them. It’s your lack of strategy that piled up those corpses.”
Hilarity and chaos ensue as Seiya slaps Rosalie until she gets chipmunk cheeks when she attacks him after that accusation. But listen. I didn’t add the emphasis above. Seiya is absolutely blaming her, 100%. He’s not holding back in the slightest — he never has, but this time, he’s especially harsh.
Here’s what he’s saying. It’s not that they got killed by the demon flies. No. She sent them out to fight in a blind, unplanned charge. That’s what killed them. They didn’t get killed, as if by accident or by some outside force. She was responsible for them, she gave the order, and so every single death is because of her.
So why did Seiya do all this? Remember what he said.
“Times like those are precisely when you remain calm and act with caution.”
Now think, with every situation before this episode, when people had either died or were about to die, and it was up to Seiya to save them — this was what was going through his head. He’s the summoned hero, the one everyone will look to for saving. Maybe he is scared. Maybe he is frustrated with waiting and watching. But if he panics now, if he rushes in to save them with no plan, he’d just be killing himself. And then he wouldn’t be able to save anyone.
He’s not cautious because he’s scared of dying. His first and foremost thought is that if he’s careless, it will affect others. If he dies, other people will die too. And that’s not even the worst part. They’ll die, and it’ll be his fault.
He can’t let that happen. That’s the source of his caution. So no, he won’t let Rosalie accuse Rista of not knowing the value of life, when Rista was the one who has been consistently and frequently pushing him to hurry and save people. No, he won’t let Rosalie call him a coward either.
Earlier he said, “In cases where nothing you do will help, nothing can be done.” As if he’d given up. But then he says, “What good will being affected do?” Even if nothing can be done now, he hasn’t given up. But panicking isn’t the answer. Acting with caution is.
He proceeds carefully and actually saves lives. He gets results, and there’s no way he was going to let this princess daughter of a warrior blame him or Rista for her own mistake.
So what have we learned from this episode, this scene?
Seiya and Rista are still supporting each other, more obviously than ever, backing the other up because they understand the reasoning behind the other’s actions. Rista finally gets some criticism from humans, despite her genuine wish to help them. It’s never really brought up again this episode, but I do hope it’s addressed again.
She’s a healing goddess, so there’s a lot she can’t do offensively. But on top of that, just by being a goddess by itself, makes her different from humans. Even though she already feels plenty different enough from the gods. So where does she belong now? Hopefully that’s something that’s explored more later.
Seiya finally reveals the reasoning behind his caution. And surprisingly, it’s somehow compassionate and selfish at the same time. He doesn’t want others to die because he would blame himself for their deaths, as he is the hero. But more than that, he doesn’t want to have to shoulder that blame, and he’d rather wait and be sure he actually can save people. Because he knows, and he believes Rista knows too, the preciousness of life.
He’s solid and steadfast in his convictions when standing up against people, and it’s something Rista could learn from. And I truly believe she is, hence why she stood up to Leviae in episode 6, or why she supports him against Rosalie here. She trusts him now, just as he showed last episode that he trusts her. That’s why she says his prudence has saved them multiple times before. She not questioning him or arguing with him anymore. There’s faith here, now.
So this is long, but in conclusion, it seems like this anime is still giving some focus to Rista and Seiya’s relationship and interactions, and I think it can be something precious if they continue to do so until the end.
Like last time, reply/reblog/etc if you agree, disagree, or have something to add; I’d love to hear other thoughts

Notes: 1-13: Officially localized in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. 2-15: Originally already written in English as “Prayer Song to God”, but a different, localized title is given in-game. 2-36: A pun on “Partizanne” and “Forgettable”. 4-07: Italian for “The Madness of Love”. 4-27: Originally written as Grass Land: Stage Select. This was a printing error and is the wrong name. 5-16: [sic]. Track name was already written in English. 5-33, 5-34, 5-35: Pointedly written as if their respective characters are saying this. In extension, likely the same case with the rest of the jingles. 5-36: More accurately, “oracles”. However, this term is localized in the game’s text as “priestesses”. 6-11: “The Deus Ex Machina [she] Witnessed in [her] Childhood” 6-28: “Allies” and “Arise” have the same pronunciation in Japanese
Many tracks are re-used from older games. I tried to find the corresponding tracks and their official, or at least heavily accepted, English names. To the best of my knowledge, Blowout Blast and TKCDX do not have prior official tracklists, so any tracks from these games, and a few other cases, are directly translated.
Several tracks are already written in English (or in one case, Italian). With the exception of 2-15, I left them as-is.
