I'll face God and walk backward in Ship Hell
781 posts
Hello! I'm The Rose or simply Rose ! I write, at least I try. I'm 25 and I speak French. I sold my soul to World of Warcraft and I'm a Illidan/Maiev trash for the moment. (But I won't say no to a good old crackship)

Illidan sat alone on the walkway that wound around the exterior of the Vindicaar. It was the middle of the night, at least according to the clocks on the ship; it was very difficult to judge the hours on a planet bereft of daylight. Either way, Illidan was grateful for the late hour. He sat at the very stern of the vessel, where few people came during the middle of the day. Now, thanks to the late hour, he was guaranteed his solitude. That was all he wanted for the moment: to be alone.  Illidan needed time to recover his strength. He’d struggled so hard and expended so much power breaking free of the naaru. He still felt painful echoes of the white-hot Light she had poured into him. His muscles felt weak and uncoordinated, his insides burned and raw. He had been Xe’ra’s Chosen, the prophesied hero destined to end the age of demons. At that thought, he couldn’t help but let out a short, bitter laugh. It seemed she’d been determined to force him into the role when he’d been found lacking; she’d tried to remake him in her own image. Nothing he'd said made a difference. She hadn’t heedled his furious, desperate protests. The Prime Naaru merely wanted to take away everything that he was . Illidan shivered and wrapped his wings around his shoulders for comfort.
Got chapter 23 of my Illidan x Maiev fic uploaded, as promised! :D I'm not sure why inserting a link isn't working the way it used to, so just copy and paste this, I guess:

Chapter 24 of "Light and Shadow" is up!!
When the bell at the mess hall rang to announce the midday meal, Maiev hastily dismissed Sira and Blinked directly out of the Command Center. She reappeared not at the mess tent, but at the nearby crafts pavilion, where the provisioners and armorers had set up their shops. She’d promised to wrap Illidan’s hand, and she needed to buy bandages. As the tailor was counting out Maiev’s change, a nearby garment caught the Warden’s eye.  “I’ll take this as well,” she said, grabbing a fistful of cloth in her gauntlet.  If the tailor was confused by the sight of the fully-armored Warden awkwardly brandishing a tunic, she wisely kept her face blank. Instead, the draenei began to silently reclaim the silver coins she’d been laying out for Maiev. Grateful the tailor could not see the flush that turned her pink ears red, Maiev tucked her purchases into her cloak and Blinked directly back to her office in the Command Center.
Still not sure why Tumblr isn't letting me imbed a link the way it used to. :\ Anyway, if you like horny demons (literally) and angst, please go read chapter 24 of my Illidan x Maiev fanfic.
Here's the chapter URL: https://archiveofourown.org/works/46427185/chapters/165584695

Illidan paced.  He took nine steps across the bridge of the Vindicaar, past the glowing control console, then nine steps back. Beside him was the wide crystalline viewport at the bow of the ship. Outside that was the landscape of Argus, the Legion’s homeworld. When he’d first arrived, the sight of the shattered, fel-corrupted planet had given even Illidan pause. Today, however, he was more concerned with what was happening on the ship behind him. He stopped and crossed his arms over his broad chest, frowning as he stared at the tableau below.  Down the steps on the other side of the console, a small group of his allies clustered in the center of the bridge. Khadgar and Velen stood among several members of the Argusian resistance, and were eagerly discussing plans for the ongoing invasion. Foremost among the newcomers was a human paladin in brilliant armor: High Exarch Turalyon, the leader of the Golden Army. It was this human to whom Illidan directed his frown, though Turalyon did not see. And that was the crux of the issue.
FINALLY got my fic's take on "The Rejection of the Gift" cinematic live! Please enjoy.

Xe’ra dreamed.  She dreamt of her home in the Great Dark Beyond, at the furthermost reaches of the universe. Long ago it had been the very crucible of creation, brimming with limitless potentialities. There, countless stars hummed and sang around her, their brilliant Light pulsing in time with hers. Back then, long before Sargeras had ever fallen to madness, a young Xe’ra and her kindred would sing to each other in that vast, beautiful place. Occasionally, comets and other celestial wanderers would interrupt their song. Those lonely voyagers streaked through the darkness faster than Xe’ra could greet them, hurrying to and from places beyond her ken. That was the way of the place: she often caught fleeting glimpses of worlds and essences and future memories as they travelled through the Great Dark. And rarely–very, very rarely–the echoes of lost souls would also drift into that remote place.  That was where an older Xe’ra had first dreamt of the soul that would someday become Illidan Stormrage.
Finally got chapter 21 of my Illidan x Maiev fic uploaded. Sorry about how late it is. DX

the thing about shipping illidan/maiev is, yeah, it IS nonsense to be like "they've been fucking nasty the whole time," but blizzard already pretty clearly values spectacle and fanservice over any coherent narrative throughlines or logical in-character behavior, so i refuse to once again fall into the same old trap of caring more about the plot and characters of a blizzard game than bllizzard itself does. if "it's funny" and "it's hot" are good enough excuses for blizzard's "writers" then it's good enough for me too, dammit. ergo, illidan and maiev have been fucking nasty the whole time

Here’s my holiday present for anyone interested:

This started as just an attempt to sketch my way through an art block, then it just kept snowballing into something more elaborate until it ultimately became a “dick in a box” joke. :P

Hi, Rose! I know that you removed your fanfics because you suffered mental damage. Is there any way the community can help you? I really hope to read them again someday, because in difficult times, nothing gave me more joy than reading their wonderful relationship. Anyway, thanks for your creativity. P.S. Sorry for my English
Hi!
Tbh, it's less a "community thing" than simply me taking a step back, having a real break and learning to be more zen and less invested in what I'm writing x)
So, unfortunately, there's still nothing to be done for now and I won't publish again yet.
I say "yet" because those stories are still with me and it itches me not to have been able to finish some. There are some high chances that I'll come back at some point but I cannot promise it nor give a date for it.
Who knows, maybe when Blizzard brings back Illidan, I'll get so many ideas that I won't have a choice but to write again (and we all know Illidan is coming back before the end of the Worldsoul Saga).
Thanks a lot for your message and I can only recommend checking what's being done currently by others ^^
It might not be my stories, but I'm sure that Fatal_fruit; Breagen; and Stray_Voyager have really good stories ongoing on AO3! (Sorry, need to take the time and force myself to read those 🙏) And don't forget everything that we already got done in the tag either.
Don't forget to comment if you like those ;)
May you find good stories to read!

“I trust you, Maiev!” Illidan said, taking a half-step forward as she turned. He held his hand out, palm up, still awaiting her touch. His face was tight with strain and desperation. He sounded almost as lost as he had that night in the river. “That’s what I’ve been trying to say. I know neither of us expected to hear me say that, but there it is: I trust you. So if you tell me to be wary of Xe’ra, I will.”  For just a moment, Maiev’s heart stopped beating. “I cannot trust you again!” Illidan had declared, just before fleeing from her and the Cathedral of Eternal Night. He was right. She’d never thought she’d earn his faith.
It's a teeny bit late, but I got my twentieth chapter of my Illidan x Maiev fanfic posted!
