Started the morning with warm coffee, sunshine and writing about 300 words before my headphones died. At least I reached my daily goal of getting to the next page, so that`s a win. Spend the remaining day until now playing Coral Island and started reading Bitterthorn by Kat Dunn. So far, I really like it!

His name is Silk[y] he was a human that got experimented on and "somehow" found himself in the blacksite

There are a few things abt him but I am too lazy rn so I am throwing it roughly here like this

- has very shit memory issues, he doesn't remember how he got to the blacksite and he also doesn't remember anything about his life before he got there

- he can be found scowering about the blacksite collecting data for sebastian, he will be absolutely terrified at first whenever he finds anyone

- is a dumbass, like, it's a *miracle* how this guy manages to exist down there

- has a little bit of a settlement at sebastians shop [he was kicked out several times but always came back and seb just kinda gave up on kicking him out; also has an agreement with the boi for him to stay there] wich is like a tiny Web hammoc near a corner

- areas he very frequently visits are lined with silk [he only is in the areas between the beginning doc and sebastians shop normally]

-he does all the prerun deliveries for seb since he doesn't really mind that task honestly and will sometimes offer healings to people he finds that don't seem hostile [some prerun items maybe get delayed delivery and just kinda get dropped from the ceiling onto the players]

-loves collecting anything he finds and will go into every little corner and vent there is to find stuff

-even though he always carries a light source; if he is in the dark he is practically completely blind and has to rely on his silk normally to navigate if there is no light; if there is no silk he will just kinda run about until he finds a door

- knows several shortcuts and stuff in the most frequent visited areas, if ur lucky you can skip a few doors

- I prolly had more notes but I can't rember rn

Also knowing that Moto Hagio did Heart of Thomas after the arc on the West Germany boy's academy of Poe Clan makes so much sense 🤔 it felt like a prerun of that.

I made it for The Centennial when I worked in the kitchen and made the food for 2500 soldiers at the Army Balls. I prefer catering events. I need fuel to run and this is all clean! Still living healthy since and still running!

It's a classic mech I get you, and justly feared, but gawdalmighty is the Warhawk probably my least favorite of the omnis the Sharkfoxes build in house to work on. First off, the TarComp - it's advanced by spheroid standards, but the the model in that thing is basically a rebadged Rikki-Tikki-Tavi VI unit just built into the chassis rather then split up into pods and with a chip node shrink and new materials to cut mass and wattage, and I know anyone who's worked with Clan tech just winced, because while it performs as well as any other good model in the last 300 years on the battlefield... well, it's like a technical version of what little I've learned about the Mongeese from shooting the shit on the few times I've been logged on the Chatterweb (we sprung for the Chatterweb package as part of the Authorized Service Provider license, but we only really get a go at when one or the other Aimags in Lyran space are in system, as the local HPG is only on paper compliant with that protocol. Won't say much good for the toaster-fuckers but at least they kept that thing working well, nowawadays that thing only runs because we get the Sharkfoxes through every quarter at least.) Anyway, while it gains reliability from prerun and chassis integrated data and myomer control buses, there's only so much that thing does to help. While the more recent revisions swap that for a Charadon tarcomp system that solves most of those headaches, that design tweak has only been in mass production for a decade, so good luck there. Then there's the omnipod gaskets, and you guessed it, Clan Heat Resistant Elastomer Compound 7, and they tear. Fucking Jags didn't care if it made their techs work their asses off I guess. At least they're off the shelf from the Foxes. The shoulder gun mount has also had repeated tolerance problems that have required some heavy work when they come up, at least for the Fox built models, to the point where many users in prime config hang the LRM launcher off an arm instead. Also, the older jag built revisions really did not put enough EM shielding on the arm omni mounts for something intended to carry twin PPCs per arm and that really increased time needed for calibration after fights, though that's fortunately rare nowadays. The biggest pain in the ass factor is that it was plainly designed with non-mechwarrior washout technicans in mind and that makes it harder to work on. Besides the obvious aeropilots getting in anywhere, it was plain that the myomers were designed for work by Elemental phenotypes, because it can be fucking hard to get the better power tools in for them. It's a regular issue with Clantech mechs, but it's especially pronounced here. Also, the Sharkfox built ones use Consolidated engines and that means coil whine will come up at times. Still a good mech, but god what a bunch of headaches.

Warhawk

Initially introduced by Clan Smoke Jaguar in 2999 in preparation for the anticipated return to the Inner Sphere. After the Dragoon Compromise stalled such plans, the Jaguars unleashed the powerful Warhawk on their Warden opponents to deadly effect. Deployed extensively in the Jaguar frontline forces, and often seen paired with the Dire Wolf, the design truly came into prominence on the battlefields of the Jaguars' Invasion Corridor, where it earned the code name of Masakari - a Japanese battle-axe used on medieval Terra - from the DCMS warriors who faced it.

Though it appeared in the toumans of a number of other Clans, such as the Ghost Bears and Jade Falcons, the Jaguars jealously guarded their production, and all examples of the highly prized 'Mech outside of the Jaguars were battlefield salvage until production lines and design specs finally spread to the Fire Mandrills, Diamond Sharks and Goliath Scorpions after the Smoke Jaguars' Annihilation. Produced exclusively on the Clan Homeworlds, the design was one of many lost to the Inner Sphere Clans after contact with the Homeworlds ceased during the Jihad, with attrition steadily reducing the numbers of increasingly patchwork survivors by the ilClan era.

Meanwhile in the Deep Periphery, even following their Abjurement the Goliath Scorpions went to extreme lengths to maintain their Warhawks, resorting to cannibalizing severely damaged 'Mechs for parts. Cherishing the Warhawk for its pinpoint accuracy, the design was among those revived once resources allowed and prior to the Hanseatic Crusade, where it played a key role in the Escorpión Imperio's conquest of the Hanseatic League. The wealth of League resources following the Crusade allowed the new Scorpion Empire to retool the factory on Antwerp to resurrect the Warhawk, rebuffing interest from Clan Sea Fox buyers to see to their own internal needs first.

The Warhawk is powered by a massive 340 XL engine that gives it a top speed of 64.8 km/h and mounts thirteen and a half tons of ferro-fibrous armor to protect itself from enemy fire. To dissipate the massive waste heat produced in its various configurations, it carries a staggering twenty double heat sinks. Additionally, though not truly fixed equipment on the chassis, the Warhawk manages to incorporate an advanced Targeting Computer into each of its configurations, making all of its direct fire weapons extremely accurate.

In its primary configuration, the Warhawk has an impressive arsenal of long range weapons which are centered around four ER PPCs that take advantage of the 'Mech’s Targeting Computer. While unable to fire all of the ER PPCs at once, it can use a volley fire strategy to manage its heat. These are backed up by an LRM-10 launcher that allows the Warhawk a secondary weapon that can be utilized for long range combat.

Due to space constraints dictated by the targeting computer and over-engineered cooling system, large-bore autocannons are infrequently mounted, the consequence of complex routing of ammo feeds. The Warhawk excels when using direct-energy weapons and ER PPCs are signature weapon on many configurations.

Andy McMillin is part of the third generation of the McMillin family from San Diego of off-road racers took his time here to take and share a picture of the scenario surrounding him during pre-running for the up coming #Baja500. He got his start riding with his dad Scott McMillin, pre-running when he was just two years old.

He demonstrated he had what it took to win after McMillin became the youngest overall winner of the SCORE Baja 1000 in 2006 racing with Robby Gordon. He then followed that up with overall wins in 2009 and 2011 racing with his dad, and won again with a back-to-back victory with Rob MacCachren in 2014 and 2015.

So today I got my 1st #spartanrace #DNF from #spartanracetristatenj and I couldn't be happier. I set a hardline to be off the course in 4hrs so I could be home for #qchsjrprom #quakertown I only got 10 of 13mi, turned my headband in to self-dnf and got to see the prom. Was a tough, cold, wet, muddy course. Not easy. Pushed myself but came up short. I realized I tried to be a 🐰 but at heart I'm truly a 🐢 and it works.
