5. How do they consciously realize that they like each other? Does it take them a while?

Lol. Lmao. “Does it take a while?“ Lol. Get ready for DEEP LORE. Things that are on my official timeline and have drafted but never fully written and published. Fun stuff from pre-canon.

Also, funny thing to realize is they both only realize it after someone else points it out to them!

Minovae: it takes fives years after she joined the Hellknights, around the time of the Dospera Massacre during the Civil War. She’d probably been crushing on him for a while without knowing it but that’s when she realized it: the wake of the brutal siege that lead to the destruction of her childhood home and district… where the Scourge turned on their former allies after allying with House Thrune. During an attempted siege to Rego Crua from Rego Plea through the sewers/subterranean aqueducts, explosions from above ground destabilize the passage their unit is crossing through and the floor gives out. Realizing she can’t save both herself and Regill (her squad’s acting leader then), she chooses him, swinging him up the stable ground and falling down into the depths to what everyone involved thinks is surely death. At the time, she thinks it only duty and her intense loyalty (friendship) with him that makes her sacrifice herself—aside from the fact she has nothing else left and she’s contributed to the destruction of her own home in the name of ending this war.

The flow sweeps her out into the Westchannel. Next thing Mino knows, she’s baking in the sun, caught like flotsam on one of Westcrown’s “natural dams” of shipwreck wood and shells discarded by fishermen throughout the centuries in the bay, with what feels like more broken bones than not, and being shaken awake by a familiar sight. Before she left Westcrown years ago, she’d been a bard at one of the brothels in the Rego Pena catering to the docks and ships (and left because she was fired for breaking a man’s wrist for assuming she was part of the main entertainment, lol). Two of the working courtesans had been very fond of her (a feathered tiefling and scaled aasimar pair who taught her how to take care of her own features!), and it’s coincidentally they who find her strewn up on the dam while out in the dawn taking care of laundry. She’s subsequently dragged back to the brothel by one of the bouncers they kindly ask to help carry her heavy ass, peeled out of her armor and the armor hidden so no one targets her for being a Hellknight, laid up in bed, and a runner sent up to the Scourge’s main encampment back up in Rego Crua to report their MIA knight in dire need of some healing magic.

Imagine Regill’s immense surprise upon being summoned by his superiors, and he arrives to find a brothel girl talking with them; even more so when he learns Arangeir isn’t dead. He’s granted leave to confirm, bring requisitioned potions to get her back to her feet, and deliver her next orders... which he does--Goes to the brothel with glamered armor because technically its behind enemy lines and, well, as a gnome he won't exactly be clocked as a Hellknight out of his armor as easily as anyone else, lol. Lo and behold, his missing ganzi and savior is indeed alive, all sorts of messed up (broken bones, swallowed so much saltwater, water in lungs, sun exposure), but he's immensely relieved to see that she made it. He questions the owner about why they saved her, a Hellknight, leading to him being dumbstruck when they laugh and tell him: "We look after our own in this business, no longer in it or no. Imagine our surprise today seeing her now. She left us as a spitfire with anger issues but a golden voice and shows back up clad in blackened plate. I dare say few of us approve of the life she has chosen since leaving us, but... I can't look at that tail and that mess of platinum hair and not see that desperate young girl that pleaded with me for a place to work and stay all those years ago." The owner doesn’t say why, only says it’s not her story to tell, and Mino who has quietly regained consciousness a few minutes before (thanks to a potion) cheekily rasps at him why she was fired and, a bit delirious, cracks a joke about any assumptions he might’ve leapt to about her working there, and with the Hellknights not running any background checks aside from passing the Trial, a Hellknight whore isn’t that out of the question. (Something she groans at when fully conscious lol).

He regains his composure (he wasn’t as stoic 80 years ago, pre-Bleaching) and sternly informs her she has 2 days of leave to recover before she is expected back in her duties. He also salutes her, and tells her she has been recognized for her commitment to her duty and valor in saving his life and that there is a commendation waiting for her upon her return… and also he is pleased they didn’t lose as good a knight as her. He looks forward to welcoming her back to active duty, but also tells her to rest and recover.

Only when he leaves do the women start giggling and asking her questions. The owner says something about him being handsome, but never expected Mino to fall for someone like him: so stony and stoic and intense. She is totally flabbergasted and denies it, only for the owner to remind her that she can tell where feelings have taken root in order separate her workers from repeat clients should relationships start to bloom… and Mino’s aren’t just rooted, they’re full on blooming without her knowing.

It haunts her for days and days, firmly in denial, until she returns to camp and when Regill goes to help her to her feet after she’s knocked to the ground during sparring drills, she can’t deny it anymore. It hits her like a fucking carriage.

She has to swallow it down, knowing nothing would ever come of it aside from heartbreak.

Regill: His takes like 80 years. He had a little crush before she left and then, well, she was actually dead until Areelu brought her back. After she is reported MIA -> KIA in the Worldwound, he feels this inexplicable bitterness about her leaving so suddenly with no explanation, especially with how broken she seemed. She also had stolen a kiss from him and he's just very... Well he doesn't know what's going on and it all just manifests as anger and this sense of waste that grows numb overtime.

Game starts, the anger is back but all twisted up with relief and other confusing things that she is alive and back... especially since she doesn't remember him (until later). Events of the game + her regaining her memories and he is so so so blind to his growing camaraderie and respect for her reaching a point where it simply isn’t just mere respect anymore. In Mino’s “custom mythic path” canon, she succeeds in the Legend path until her powers are immediately foisted back onto her not even minutes after purging them by her sire/creator, Ssila’meshnik. The aeon power is infused with an equal amount of pure chaos to form a paradox, and the surge of power as they're forced back into her causes them to spiral out of control. She jumps ahead 3 days into the future, wounded and terrified and helpless, while the rest of the world has to wait for time to pass normally to find her.

Regill doesn’t handle this well. He'd already been agonizing over her madness and fall across the events in the Abyss to then, preparing to even mercy kill her before she was totally lost. A protean lord appears, calls her 'daughter', impales her, and the last thing she did in her fear was reach out for him for help before disappearing in a warpwave? He barely sleeps. Barely eats. Desperate to find her and figure out where she will appear so he can be there to bring her back to Drezen for care. He’s a complete mess but doesn’t consciously realize he is, snapping at everyone, trapped in his thoughts and searching, and he eventually drops from exertion and weakness. The rest of the companions are also messes in their own way and boy does it start a hell of a fight. He hears in the next room over where he’s laid up Daeran shouting at Sosiel and Seelah both “can’t you see he adores her?! I know next to nothing about true love but if that isn’t it then I don’t believe it exists and your goddess can smite us here and now for my heresy!”

It’s definitely his cliche “oh” moment, forcing him to realize why he couldn’t figure out why he was feeling so physically awful and pained and sick and anxious: he had no idea what love felt like, much less the aching grieving fearful kind he’s been drowning in with her missing and him helpless to do anything about it.

7. Do they pursue the other character’s affection, and if so, how? Do they tell the other character how they feel? Try to earn their admiration? Woo them with romantic gestures? Flirt with them?

This is a loaded ass question!

Ultimately their relationship is based on Love as a Choice. Their feelings sprouting are not a choice, but their decision to act upon them and not ignore them/squash them is one! They choose to love each other, and as Hellknights that is a big deal. Their love is not a pursuit but an offering: I am giving you my heart and my life. It's not a matter of pursuit but simply accepting what is willingly being given as a choice.

Hence, they essentially take things as they come, and they’ve known each other for so painfully long and know each other better for anyone that things like trying to earn their admiration or flirting don’t really happen between them—it’s already there.

As for "earning their admiration", it's more like "not wanting to lose it". The beginning of their relationship is characterized with a bit of hesitancy and fearfulness at "messing it up": Mino worries about losing his admiration by being too merciful and Regill worries about losing hers by being too merciless (even though these are already known factors and part of the reasons they fell for the other, lol). She is also scared of moving too quickly and scaring him, or fully accepting their relationship as reality at first because she's terrified he will "see reason" and call things off. Regill, meanwhile, has zero relationship experience and zero romantic experience at all as the most glacial demiromantic and demisexual man in all of Golarion lol. He loves her, he finds that out, but the acts of doing it? Navigating this new territory is also something he's figuring out, all the while worried about hurting her with his emotional clumsiness and inexperience. The early relationship sees him being frustrated with trying to identify these new emotions, much less handle them with any sort of grace.

As for wooing - Love as a Choice means that it's pretty much in everything they do. I'm choosing to spend my life with you. I'm choosing to fight and die and bleed with you. I'm choosing to sleep at your side and hold your hand when it hurts and reassure you when it all seems hopeless. That to them is romance. So, whatever romantic gestures they do are usually small, and so much more meaningful because of it. Being at the center of history, something are mundane as learning and taking part in Mino’s grooming routine is immensely romantic to her because it’s a choice to take part in just… her. Her finding interesting philosophical books and military strategy ones, and listening to him talk about such things simply because she likes to hear him be passionate about them is also something he finds remarkably endearing from her. Romance is in every refilled coffee mug and "I grabbed you a snack because you seemed cranky" and reminder to grab a coat because it's cold and rainy.

They do talk about their feelings and relationship more than you would think. She wears her heart on her sleeve and he doesn't have issues speaking the truth so much as he's not equipped with the right words and still figuring things out. Hard to explain that which you have so little idea of! There is no embarrassment or difficulty saying "I love you" between them~

As for flirting... Mino is a strange case. She is extremely seductive and good at fake flirting, using her skills as a former bard and espionage specialist in the Scourge. Real flirting though? Oh she's so hopeless. Bright red face beneath her scales, stumbling over the delivery, laughing mid joke, drowning in butterflies in her stomach... When the love and feelings are real she can't put on the sultry flirting act since her real love is very bubbly and earnest and filled with laughter. Regill meanwhile doesn't flirt and he doesn't have to. He says things so confidently and in such a way that statements delivered totally straight sound super sexy to her anyway, lmao.

I opened up Minesweeper on my Window's 10 computer because it's been ages since I've played.

When i searched for it in the start menu, links to sites to download minesweeper popped up. I did find the app already downloaded on my computer though (i forget whether I had downloaded it before or it came installed, but it's the official microsoft app)

When I lost my first game, a pop-up popped up saying I could watch an ad or go premium to keep playing that board

There were ads in the margins of the summary window after a game

I didn't like the new design so i went into the themes tab to see if they had a classic theme. To unlock the classic theme you have to login with a microsoft account.

At some point (I forget what I did) a pop-up popped up telling me I can get rid of ads if I go premium and listed the price for the monthly and annual subscription

Sandrock Bachelorettes Being Drunk

So many notes on my Bachelors headcanon post! Thank you guys so much!  Anyways, as (one) kind soul requested, here are the bachelorettes!  I did my best to capture their unique traits, but unfortunately, the dateable women in Sandrock are written more subtly (flat) than the men.  Without such extreme personalities (Elsie and Catori notwithstanding) it was much more difficult to think of unique scenarios the ladies would shine in.

But once she does decide to let loose - maybe a Fleeting Youth Tea Society meeting got out of hand - boy does she relax.  Sober Amirah scolds Arvio, Drunk Amirah goes on an hour long rant with Pablo taking notes in the background giggling with glee.  Did she mean anything she said?  Of course not, but a girl needs to vent sometimes.  She’s a very flip-flop kind of drunk, though.  Once the tipsy euphoria hits, you can bet she’s dancing around the saloon with reckless abandon, laughing at anything and everything.  Her usually reserved personality gives way to a sloppy wholesomeness and she’ll spend the night latched onto Heidi and the Builder just laughing and hugging and reminding them all just how much she loves them.

She’s gonna be extra harsh with Arvio the next day, so be prepared for him to show up at the workshop asking why his sister hates him now.

Catori

I know a lot of fans aren’t huge on Catori because of how messy she comes across.  But a struggling businesswoman, divorced with a kid, whose idea of rebuilding Sandrock means installing roller coasters in a monster-infested canyon.  That’s it.  I just love messy characters who pour their heart and soul into their dreams.

Anyway, Catori is no stranger to partying by any means.  Again, she has a kid.  She’s not exactly naive or reserved, so when she drinks, it’s really just her natural personality getting amped up a bit.  She’s pitching her latest drunken business idea to anyone and everyone in the saloon because you never know which tourist might secretly be a bazillionaire in disguise.

“Oh Builder, it’s you!  I was just looking for you!  I’ve come up with a great show idea for Catori World.  We’ll have a separate building set up with all kinds of games just for adults.  There’ll be dice and card games, and customers can put their own money on the line for a chance to win big from the house!  How exhilarating!”  “...Catori that’s a casino.  You want to build a casino.  I don’t know how well the Church would respond to something like that in Sandrock.”  “Oh Fuck the Church.  They’ll be on board as soon as they see how much profit it’ll bring in for the whole town!”  “Catori, no”

Elsie

Elsie wants to get drunk.  No one else in Sandrock wants Elsie to get drunk.  She’s already a serial prankster and a furry when sober.  Who knows how far she’ll go with no inhibitions?  She’s definitely getting drunk by sneaking into Cooper’s premium Yakmel milk supply before she knocks on Mi-an’s door at 3am dressed in a full homemade catsuit.  She’ll spend the next hour trying to make herself purr and climbing all over Mi-an’s furniture before bolting out the door to try and scare Owen as he walks home from the saloon.

Seriously, it’s like she develops super ADHD when she drinks, never focusing on anything for more than 5 seconds before something shiny catches her attention and she’s pouncing on it.  Light help her when she decides to go for a night-time horseback ride across the desert.  She’s 100% gonna wake up near Gecko station surrounded by concerned Penskies, but Logan or Larry will find her soon enough and take her home to an annoyed and frightened Cooper.  He’s been preparing her lecture for the better part of four hours.

Grace

She makes the best drinks in Sandrock, hell, in probably all of the Free Cities.  But she never seems to get drunk, ever.  Years of training and building up resistances to different poisons and intoxicants while working for the Alliance make it very difficult for her.

If the builder is dating her, though?  She’ll feel comfortable enough to let her walls down and drink plenty.  Even Grace doesn’t know what to expect from herself when she starts drinking, so strap in.  She’ll only drink heavily at home with the builder, and once she is drunk, she’s nonstop cuddling with all the pets.  Once the builder starts feeling left out and tries to join the cuddle pile, her attitude shifts drastically.

“Hey Builder?” she’ll ask, standing up to look over the builder before just grabbing the collar of their shirt and staring them dead in the eye.  

“Yeah Grace?”

“I’m gonna take your virginity now.”

“...huh?!  Grace, I’m not a virgin.  You know this.”

“I don’t care; your virginity is mine and I’m taking it.  Right now.”

Hold on for dear life, Builder.  You’re in the Light’s hands now

Heidi

Drunk Heidi is a Smash-or-Pass/Would-You-Rather/Never-Have-I-Ever goddess.  She’s quick with the prompt, and her Would You Rather questions are always the most morally or philosophically devastating you’ve ever heard.

“Builder, if me and your mom somehow switched bodies and you had to sleep with one of us to switch things back, would you rather choose your mom in my body or me in your mom’s body?”  Cue distraught Builder noises ‘cause what the fuck, man.

She is, in a word, relentless when drunk, chasing Qi around the saloon trying to get him to finally admit out loud that he’s obsessed with Gungam, making (welcomed) passes at the builder any chance she gets, and man oh man, does she have some choice words for Master Verna.  

I definitely see her as the type to get ridiculously flirty and handsy with the builder for the whole walk back to the workshop, only to immediately pass out on the couch when they get there.  

Jane

Tomorrow is gonna be a “watch a movie” day at school for the kids, Jane already knows.  She’s 6 Yakmel daiquiris deep and showing no signs of stopping.  Why does she drink like a monster?  Who knows?  Knowing why wouldn’t change the fact that she’s doing it anyway.  

She’s definitely making the Blue Moon stage hers for the night, spouting endless play renditions, sometimes switching into her regular teaching lectures, and re-enacting Old World historical events.  She’ll sit at a booth with Ernest for a while hammering out ideas for new plays and novels, maybe even how to incorporate Ernest’s novels into a creative writing lesson.

(Jane, I’m sorry your entry is short.  We don’t get to know much about you other than that you’re a teacher and an actress.)

Mi-an

Mi-an is a very nervous and kind character, so I could see her being hesitant about drinking, and especially getting drunk…at first.  As soon as the buzz and tipsiness start to kick in, it’s a whole new side to her.  She’s singing on the blue moon stage with Jane (making out with Nia in a corner), helping out Elsie with pranks, and generally indulging in shenanigans she might overthink when sober. 

I think Mi-an would actually like being drunk once she’s done it once or twice, like any gifted student as soon as they get to college.  It’s an easy way to turn off her everyday anxieties and just live in the moment.  She’s definitely still trying to fix everything around town, though.  Sober or not, this woman is determined to work herself to death.  Owen has to kick her out one night after she starts a one-woman builder cruise inside the saloon at 1am.

“Go to sleep Mi-an.”  “Owen, you don’t understand, I can fix all your wobbly tables and the sinking booth AND the shelf behind the bar in like, 5 minutes flat.  I even have the materials right here!”  “Yes, I saw you drag in a pile of scrap wood earlier when I told you no.  And what do you mean wobbly tables????”

Nia

Ah Nia, recent college graduate Nia.  She’s a party girl, through and through, but in the most wholesome way possible.  She’s the mom friend who may be just as plastered as everyone around her, but will still be handing out snacks and water bottles for everyone else.  Elsie passed out and needs to be carried home?  Who knows when Nia started hitting the gym like Pen, but she’s on it.  She may be drunk too, but she knows what she’s doing and how to work around it.  We see in the game that she’s more than capable of handling herself, from scaring Yan so badly he flat out begged the builder to keep her away from him, to dungeon diving with the likes of Logan and the builder as well.  Sure, she’s incredibly sweet and bubbly, but there’s a lot of depth to Nia that doesn’t get explored anywhere near enough.  If the builder isn’t romancing her, she’s definitely making out with Mi-an in a corner.  Girl’s got builder fever, something FIERCE.

Venti

Strongest babygirl vibes of any character in the game, and she’s got the least amount of content of any romanceable townie, tragic.  Tragedy is really the name of the game when it comes to Venti, well, for literally everyone BUT Venti.  Her relentless optimism is only gonna get amplified when she starts drinking.  She made it to Sandrock, she’s got a steady job with people she likes, the town is recovering and Venti is alive.  And she’s gonna enjoy being alive to the fullest she can.  Sober Venti tends to fade into the background, but Drunk Venti?  Try and find a way to not think about how amazing she is, I dare you.

She’s dancing, absolutely stoked over getting all the “fancy” drinks and foods at the saloon, and if she’s dating the builder, she’s gushing about how happy she is with them.  Be careful, though.  Venti may seem the impossible optimist through and through, but that may be more an issue with her simply never acknowledging her trauma rather than having processed it healthily and come out happier.  If she drinks too much, be ready for that happy drunk mask to drop and reveal someone who has buried their sadness so deeply they have no idea how to handle it should it come bubbling to the surface.  So, just focus on having her drink lots of water & get to bed early, then find a good therapist in the morning.

Do you guys want another fic I'll never write?

Pierre is laying on a bed, staring at little red digital numbers that are being projected onto the ceiling of his bedroom. He didn't even buy that alarm clock, but it was a gift - a gift to get him out of bed in the mornings after falling prey to the five hour time difference.

He's contemplating his morning - the one that begins in five hours because that's what time that alarm clock will go off and he has to go to the airport.

He manages to roll himself up into a blanket and fall asleep, but when the alarm goes off, it feels like he barely closed his eyes.

He goes through the motions - shower, change, pack up his last minute things, calls his cab.

Pierre gets through security, doesn't check a bag because he doesn't want the extra time on the other side of this flight, sends a text while he waits in line for a coffee and a bagel.

He gets a work email, responds, realizes he forgot to turn his out of office on and curses, sends a slack message to remind everyone that he's off today.

It's not even daylight out yet, but when he's boarding his flight, he looks out and sees that the sun is starting to come up.

He sends another text, puts his phone on airplane mode, tries to get comfortable in his tiny airplane seat. The lights are off and people all around him are quiet and he's trying to listen to this playlist he downloaded, but he eventually pays 24 dollars for wifi so he can play this stupid little game that he has on his phone to settle some of that nervous energy he can't shake.

He gets another coffee on the airplane and checks his watch a hundred times like that will make the flight go faster.

He can't think about anything except getting to the airport. He is going to get off this plane and then he can think about after that. Right now he has to get to the airport.

The plane lands, he squeezes his eyes shut while they land and the guy next to him that hasn't spoken a word to him jokes "the flight's over, what are you scared for?" and Pierre doesn't think he's funny.

He paid extra to sit in the premium seats. Not for the legroom, but to be closer to the front of the plane so he can tumble out of the plane as fast as he can.

He's gotten a couple of texts about getting picked up out front and he texts them "landed" and then tries to push through the crowd to get to the right place to slide into the car.

"Cutting it close," Alex says and Pierre just waves him on and Alex merges back into airport traffic.

Pierre gets another text, smiles down at his phone, ignores Alex's joke about looking lovesick and demands they stop for coffee.

They do stop for coffee. Pierre orders four coffee's and a dozen donuts and Pierre gets quieter and more anxious as they drive. Alex goes quiet too.

They park in front of an apartment complex and Pierre leaves his carry-on in the backseat of Alex's car, Alex takes the donuts and Pierre has his backpack and the tray of coffees and they climb the stairs and they don't talk.

"Ready?" Alex whispers when they stop in front of the door and Pierre passes the coffee tray over to Alex and takes the keys from him.

They shuffle around - Alex stands in front of the door, but Pierre leans over and unlocks the door and swings it open for Alex to step through.

"Birthday coffee for the birthday boy," he calls into the apartment and Pierre gives it a beat.

"I can't even get tea on my own birthday?"

And then Pierre steps inside after Alex to find Charles with his hands on his hips, glaring at Alex - one side of his hair sticking up from being asleep.

"No tea, calamar." Pierre smiles, dropping his backpack right inside the front door. "But will you take a special delivery of a boyfriend?"

And he has about .2 seconds to brace himself before Charles throws himself into Pierre's arms.

Pierre feels the anxiousness bleed from his body.

"You said -"

"I know what I said," Pierre says into his hair, "but. I would never miss your birthday, baby."

Charles cries a little bit, and Pierre probably does too, and he might only have a long weekend before his red eye out, but he doesn't have those stupid alarm clock numbers on his ceiling.

🤍 basemental drugs: add a partying element to your gameplay with this mod. you can assign dealers to sell you a variety of flavors of drugs, but don't get caught by the police! i'm pretty sure this mod comes with some aspirations and the 'adhd' trait.

🤍 child birth mod: i've only used this once so far, so i can't speak on it much. but the delivery is more like real life instead of a baby popping into existence. you have options for surgery machine, natural birth, c-section, and also at-home births in a pool! there's a new ultrasound feature added, too!

🤍 education overhaul: education career, preschool, new education enrollment options, boarding school, new projects and assignments, study different subjects, detention, field trips, snow days, new school hours, i'm just listing some of the main points of the mod. haha.

🤍 home regions: this mod keeps sims in their native region. this means that if you live in willow creek, you won't be getting any vampires coming to your home or neighborhood.

🤍 language barriers: every world is assigned a language that is natively spoken. most worlds use simlish, but there are other languages spoken that your sim can learn through simlingo or by having someone who speaks the language teach your sim. this mod is incredibly customizable, so be sure to read the instructions carefully!

🤍 pets everywhere: this brings stray animals, dog walkers, and more to every region/world and not just exclusively to brindleton bay.

🤍 relationship & pregnancy overhaul: simply put, it's an overhaul for relationships and pregnancy, lol. it adds menstrual cycles and more that i cannot put into words at this very moment.

🤍 simnation travel: this mod requires you to have a license, subway pass, bicycle, passport, etc. in order to travel to other regions. there's a whole application process for a passport and going to the dmv.

🤍 simzlink: this brings an internet service provider and a new career. you can sign up for an internet subscription and install a router and whatnot. it's also compatible with snbank by simrealist (linked before the cut!), so you'll actually get charged for basic or premium internet every "month". like real life, only the internet never goes out. lol. this mod goes more in-depth on their website. it's very thorough!

🤍 wicked whims: the nsfw version of wonderful whims. there are archetypes, attractiveness, and impressions that adds more depth to relationships. there's also a menstrual cycle in this mod (like rpo), but it can be turned off.

It's Autumn

This is late because turns out there's not really a polite way to finish tapping out your Mondaypost when someone else is already in your bed.

Listening: a recommendation from the Topic Lords podcast, Ancient Sword Cult by Writhen Hilt. It's about swords!

Epic fantasy metal is a tremendously funny genre.

Watching: Watched Saloum with @thosearentcrimes because we heard it on Kill James Bond and both went "that sounds cool as hell" and it was!

Another great addition to the group of films where guys turn to the camera and go "Hey does anyone else feel doomed."

This is a really tense and well put together crime drama, some top-tier monologues and characters who are going all out. Very much worth watching without looking up too much about it I think.

Reading: Started A Desolation Called Peace a few days ago. Three Seagrass! She's so clueless! Man my girlfriend is so cool it's a shame she's not a complete person.

Having read Memory, then all of The Masquerade, and now Desolation, I think this gives me an interesting look at what I like and don't like about each series. Teixcalaan doesn't spend so much time obsessing over little world details, instead building a culture and atmosphere of empire that I really enjoy. The Masquerade is more on the ground which has benefits, but it's somewhat artificial feeling. It's at its best in the very personal moments around Baru and the other cryptarchs.

Still getting through Desolation though.

Playing: Mine Craft. I've been fiddling with some mods like Distant Horizons which does low-res renders of the world out way further than the stock game. I always get back into Minecraft for like three weeks and then put it down for another year. I have a whole lot of thinking done on how the game design of Minecraft is very cleverly pushing on different kinds of players

Making: Printing again for the first time in a while, more home objects. Finally have an excuse to get dozens of tiny neodymium magnets!

Tools and Equipment: I got a new-ish oscilloscope! Proper digital one too, Hantek DSO2D10. It has one feature I consider a nice-to-have and one feature I consider essential for cramped home lab use.

The essential feature is a built-in signal generator. Sure, it can only do a couple dozen MHz cleanly and "cleanly" is being generous there, but for like a $50 premium over a similar non-generator scope you get a single channel generator with arbitrary waveform capabilities, very handy. Saves a lot of space and makes you more likely to actually use the damn thing.

The nice-to-have is built-in logic analyzer features. Yes, a digital logic analyzer will do this better and cheaper, and yes, you could even just dump the waveform and analyze it on a computer, but being able to poke around on a board and just hit "tell me what I'm looking at here" on a random bitstream is tremendously valuable for speed and comfort.

The DSO series is pretty cheap, they're no Tektronix or Keysight, but they're a damn side better than pure analogue, having used pure analogue for a long time. Just skip it, storage and maths functions are so worth it.

SCREAMS- okay so um I was on neopets lurking around the pet trade neoboards (specifically ones about pets that were in the pound) and And like i came across an up for adopt board, and saw this GORGEOUS WATER CYBUNNY!! It was at the top of the list, and i was soooo itching to have just one more bunny since i got the game (me and my partner used our premium perks to make the two i already had btw, so they wernt organic buns), so so i took a shot and messaged the person curious if he really was free to adopt and they! Just GAVE HIM TO ME RIGHT THERE!!?!! GAVE ME THIS LOVELY BUN!???? AAAAA
