similar energy about ib; at my school, if you were taking a full load of HL courses for the diploma programme, you could graduate from the high school without taking civics, health, or personal finance (all three of which were required for the district's non-ib students)...

it is ridiculous the shit ib schools get away w not teaching like please. i did preib and ib so i was doing that my entire hs run and i didn't take a history class past freshman year that has got to be a crime.

Activity October

In preIB as well as now thanks to CAS I get up and at least try to be somehow active. I didn’t have the best time lately and my motivation for any activity was really small, but with the help of my dog and a talk with a professional trainer I tried to do as much as I can without outworking my possibilities. I started with short jogs with my precios dog Odi (he helped me get some fun out of it) and I am planning to include small workouts at the gym or at home which were consulted with Łukasz Broź, my trainer after I gain some strength again. While jogging around a small lake I thought how much I need this to get better, healthier and happier.

So I am like at 520 words, which is the worst because I am already half-way done and I AM GOING TO ONLY HAVE 1000 words.

I hate this sooo much.

Its pretty much a research paper (on steroids) about CGI and traditional/2D animation. I was planning on only writing a little but about the process of 2D animation, but I am practically giving a mini description of each of the steps. I am not finished with that part yet. SooOoooOoo I guess I will be writing 2 and a 1/2 sections tomorrow.

A Balancing Act

The countdown to the first day of my grade 10 year is 2 days.

Last week I got a call and received a part-time job offer. A small grocery store next to my school. Personally, I feel that a job is going to not only give me experience but also force me to complete my tasks (aka homework) as soon as possible. I’m not really looking to make money but, I feel that when I get to post-secondary I will most definitely need a job and it’s important to have experience.

But, this all means that I’ll need to be as productive as possible to manage to be a part of 3 clubs(after school afternoons), a sports team (mornings before school) and a job.

This means that I will have to change my study habits. Here are some of the things I plan to do...

1. Stay after school to do my homework in the school library / local library

Preventing me from procrastinating at home

2. Keeping my schedule everywhere

I have one in my planner, two in my room and another in my locker

3. Turning my phone off when I’m doing my homework

My excuse is that I might get an important notification but I always end up listening to a YouTube video while doing homework and that type of multitasking isn’t the best

4. Creating a study playlist

As to ensure that I don’t waste time in class or after school looking for songs to do work

I really want to be successful this year in balancing all these things so, if you have any tips for me please share✨

had a very successful orientation today, looking forward to starting the IB!

Catching up on some pre-IB biology work too, I have 6 days left until school starts so I’ve allocated a day per subject to do some reading, questions etc… so I feel prepared!

I also organised my folders and made some very quick DIY folder tags, literally used Word and my favourite font but I like how they came out :)

When I was in 8th grade, the English teacher would constantly lord over us that the 9th grade English teacher we’d get if we stayed with preib was harsh and wouldn’t take any of our shit. She made her out to be a cantankerous old bitch who liked to make children cry.

So as a result, I pictured her like the 8th grade teacher. A big cantankerous bitch with a perpetual scowl, the personality of a rotten log with a viper hidden inside it, and with facial warts that were very much removable, but that she probably kept specifically to look off putting to kids (who are just old enough to know that you don’t comment on it but not old enough to ignore it).

Anyway, there I am, first class on the first day of high school and I’m waiting for the queen of the cantankerous bitches herself.

And in walks this petite lady dressed in bright happy colors with a sunny disposition and makeup very reminiscent of everyone’s favorite younger great aunt and she’s like Hello class! This is gonna be such a great year!

And I’m like wtf am I in the wrong class where’s the nasty bitch’s room?

And the upbeat sweet looking teacher is like ok so I’m Mrs. S and I have a syllabus printed for you, we’re just gonna go over that real quick!

No, I’m in the right place. That’s her. But these are two very opposite images what the fuck happened here?!

Anyway, she ended up being so nice she was able to sweet talk me into joining speech and debate

So one day I’m like ya know Mrs. S, Mrs. W made you out to be a nasty evil bitch, but you’re obviously not, as I would not be in your car at 5 in the morning successfully conning you into taking me to Trader Joe’s and to pet your new kitten after the meet if you were, so what gives?

And she legit has no idea. She’s like maybe it was this one student that I didn’t understand how she passed her class because she was completely clueless in mine but I never even talk to her I don’t know why she tells kids I’m like that

But until Mrs. W retired, everyone always went into Mrs. S’ class expecting someone nasty and instead got the personification of a cinnamon roll. The teacher that just wants to be your fun aunt that also teaches you English. And it’s tragic that she was being slandered, but also really really funny.

Hence it's my first post I'm gonna talk about what exactly is this mess that I call my studyblog.

So yeah the title is quite self explanatory b u t maybe I should share lil sum sum about myself

• I'm Lawrence, a guy from Poland

• A 16 year old guy actually

• I'm in high school, preIB class where my main subjects are polish/history/english

• I guess I'm passionate about many things so,,, will definitely post other stuff than my notes

• I'm absolutely new to this stuff. Dont really know what to do or what will catch attention but we will work it out. I made this blog out of the lack of motivation.

• I'll post mostly stuff related to school and studying, who knew

Service - one of the first Habitat meetings this year! We discussed an upcoming year schedule, so I have high hopes for new renovations and less bake sales. As you can see on the photo above, a lot of new students were participating, because they are as naive as I was at the begginig of preIB.

Not my greatest pictures but.. well I am choosing my IB subjects. Can’t really comprehend how quickly my first year of high school has passed! I finished pre-IB and starting IB in September! Currently can’t wrap my head around it, but I am mostly excited and definitely scared. This academic year was not as challenging as I suspected and I managed to finish with a very satisfying result that I wasn’t even expecting! 

If anybody is wondering why I haven’t chosen the LANGUAGE B. I am still wondering whether to take ENGLISH B HL or ENGLISH A : LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE (old English A2). Does anybody have any experience? 

Have a great vacation time and enjoy some sun, free time and step away from the books! (TEXTBOOKS, normal books are okay!)

Last week I got my mathematics AI book and after flipping few pages it turned out like half of it is covered by PreIB curriculum, so that’s kinda cool.

(Mathematic AI SL is more or less the level of mathematical studies)

Anyhow, there will be no more textbook updates till September, since some teachers didn’t specify what books to buy.
