Candidiasis: An Overview for Targeting Prevention To Reduce Burden
Candidiasis is a yeasts are normally found on skin and mucous membranes. However, certain factors allow these yeasts to overgrow and cause an infection. These factors include: - Broad-spectrum antibiotics: Antibiotics can disrupt normal bacterial flora and allow Candida to multiply unchecked. - Diabetes and high blood sugar levels: High blood sugar provides a good environment for Candida growth. Diabetics tend to be more susceptible to fungal infections. - Pregnancy: Changes in hormone levels during pregnancy can promote Candida overgrowth in the vaginal area. - Use of birth control pills: Oral contraceptives can alter vaginal pH and microbiome, increasing the risk of vaginal candidiasis.

I came across a strange headline: "Chewing can reduce the risk of premature birth."
It turned out that it was about chewing gum.
Scientists spent three years studying how proper chewing is associated with a decrease in the incidence of premature birth and low birth weight babies in one poor African country.
Three years! That's how long the study lasted.
Valentine's team observed two groups of pregnant women in Malawi for three years: 4,500 of them chewed gum with xylitol, and 5,500 received consultations and medications.
Based on the results, it was concluded that chewing gum helped reduce the number of premature births by a quarter — this is when a child is born before 37 weeks. And the number of cases when babies were born with low birth weight — less than 2.5 kg — decreased by a third.
After a little digging on the Internet, I found that one cubic millimeter of plaque contains about 100 million bacteria, which first provoke inflammation, and then cause infections throughout the body. One cubic millimeter of plaque is slightly smaller than the tip of a sewing needle.
I also found that xylitol, which is contained in gum, kills the very bacteria that live in our mouths.
Xylitol, a natural sugar alcohol present in gums like Orbit and Trident, fights bacteria associated with gum disease and reduces inflammation in tissues.
However, xylitol has side effects. It looks like this research will take a few more years.
I mean that a digital avatar in the metaverse can really save precious time, especially in severe cases. Just imagine how many babies could be saved if such technology were already available.

How Your Body Changes During Pregnancy Stages
A woman's body undergoes amazing changes throughout pregnancy, making it a life-changing experience. These hormonal and physical changes are intended to assist and care for the developing infant. Expectant moms can travel this path with comfort and confidence if they are aware of these changes. Here's a thorough look at how your body changes over the course of pregnancy.
In the first trimester, irritability and elevated emotions are frequently caused by shifting hormone levels. As the body adjusts throughout the second trimester, mood swings may lessen, although worry or anxiety may still occasionally arise. Emotional highs and lows are common throughout the third trimester as the expectation of giving birth increases. To ensure a healthier and more balanced pregnancy experience, speaking with a reputable pregnancy specialist in Gurgaon, such as Dr. Veenu Agarwal, may offer invaluable support and direction in managing these changes.
First Trimester (Weeks 1-12): Early Adjustments
Hormonal changes in the first trimester frequently cause early pregnancy symptoms including exhaustion, dietary aversions, and morning sickness. The uterus grows to accommodate the developing fetus as the pregnancy goes on, giving rise to a prominent hump on the abdomen. In preparation for nursing, the breasts may also swell and become softer.
Second Trimester (Weeks 13-26): The Glowing Phase
An increase in energy is common throughout the second trimester, although physical changes persist. Common symptoms include heartburn, back discomfort, and weight gain as the developing fetus puts strain on internal organs. The uterus grows, which might lead to pain and intestinal problems.
Third Trimester (Weeks 27-40): Preparing for Birth
The physical demands on the body increase during the third trimester of pregnancy. At its largest, the uterus causes leg cramping, trouble sleeping, and frequent urination. The baby's weight may put undue tension on the pelvic and back, resulting in pain. In addition, the body softens the cervix and undergoes hormonal changes to be ready for birthing.
Expert Pregnancy Specialist in Gurgaon: Dr. Veenu Agarwal
Gurgaon's most reputable and skilled pregnancy expert, Dr. Veenu Agarwal, is renowned for her all-encompassing care and kind demeanor. Her years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology allow her to offer pregnant women individualized advice that guarantees a safe and healthy pregnancy experience.
It is important to keep in mind that every person's experience is unique. Even though these bodily changes are typical, it's important to discuss any worries or inquiries with Best Obstetrician in Gurgaon. Pregnant women can be more prepared and conscious during this life-changing experience if they are aware of the phases of pregnancy and the physical changes that accompany it.
Conclusion
Pregnancy is a beautiful, yet challenging journey. Each stage brings its own set of changes to your body, many of which are essential for supporting the growth and development of your baby. The body of a pregnant woman is exerting tremendous effort to assist the growth and development of the unborn child during the whole pregnancy. The body naturally goes through these changes to get ready for delivery and the healing process after giving birth.
