Isabella I of Castile had fertility issues as well… Maybe not false pregnancies like her granddaughter Mary, and she conceived quickly the first time, but 5 years passed between her first and second pregnancy, which resulted in stillbirth, and then she couldn’t conceive again for another 2-3 years.

What do you guys think about pregnancy if its alright to ask?
I'll have to Google it.
Oh.
Ew!
Ugh...!
Star, it's just the way humans... grow their young.
Some Cybertronians get our sparklings the same way.
Ewww!
It's natural.
Yeah... animal!
Star! Rude!
Maybe you should talk to Alex and Dot.
I don't want to hear about them... being filthy animals!
Star! There's nothing wrong with starting a family.
Ewwww...

My beautiful boy ! I am 22 weeks now and he’s just getting bigger by the day! I love these appts and seeing how much he’s growing! His skin is still a bit transparent and he’s still developing his features but he can suck his thumb now (which he did), he can breathe, taste, organs are developing further, and he’s kicking me a lot! He’s so active. In these pictures he is hugging my placenta and had his hand in front of his face. 🥹💙 I am so in love with my son. I can’t wait to meet him in 4 more months!
I love you my sweet Amari 💙 Forever and always. Everything I do now is for you.

So I have another norn with a pregnancy problem, which is odd because I’ve never seen a norn struggle to give birth before but I’ve had two so far in this run. This one’s pregnancy progress caps out at 2 and doesn’t go any higher. Her ganadotrophin is maxed out and her progesterone fluctuates at a very low level. Her health also PLUMMETS while she’s pregnant but is otherwise normal. I found a tool called the Advanced Breeders Device and I’ve been using it to extract her pregnancies because she has Horse genes and I’d love to see those kept alive, though I would do it for unremarkable norns as well if I had to (Horse genes were like 6% of the population in the previous generation and I’d love to see them make a comeback. So far we’re at 15.9% but that will go down as more norns are hatched). What I DIDN’T realize when I started doing this is that her breeding hormones go right back to base levels afterward instead of having a cooldown period, so now she’s laid like five eggs 😐 Three were with another norn with Horse genes though, so Horse genes are guaranteed to make it to the next gen
I am very excited to see where this goes
#scribbles#pregnancies#creatures 1#so obviously i know how this gene will play out in affected females#but what about males?#will it do anything to them?#will i end up with tons of norns that basically need emergency c sections?

AITA for banning my husband and father in law from the delivery room due to their intensely stressful/creepy behavior during my pregnancy?
There’s a famous Reddit post from 2020 where a pregnant woman wrote that her husband and father-in-law were a little too comfortable with their certainty that she was absolutely going to die in childbirth just like her husband’s late mother. It was to the point where her FIL was insisting that she go ahead and put all her clothes into storage, because she was obviously going to die in the hospital and it would save them the grief of packing up her things afterwards. Like. It was WILD.
When I tell my husband [that she feels suspicious of her FIL], he calls me paranoid, but I feel like my FIL WANTS me to die; his whole life identity for the past 35 years has been “amazing single dad” (never dated or had close friends or even hobbies really), and it seems like he’s looking forward to being able to guide my husband through what he went through. At this point, I’d honestly be happy to never see my FIL again, and I certainly don’t want him in the delivery room, especially since he told me he was “putting [his] foot down” about me not being “allowed” to have an epidural…. My husband, in addition to backing his dad on everything, acts like my due date is my death date, and has completely pulled away from me.
The commenters (and me, honestly) were convinced that the husband and FIL were either going to kill her outright to fulfill this expectation, or just make decisions about her care that might conveniently let her die.
And then she never posted again.
Over the last four years, people have frequently mentioned that post, always leading to a thread of people saying, “Oh god, I still worry about that woman.” I did too. It became one of those famous unresolved posts that people always wondered about.
Until yesterday, when someone on r/BestOfRedditorUpdates dug up a 2022 update she had posted on a different account:
TLDR; I had a beautiful and healthy baby girl, and I divorced my ex-husband. I lived, obviously.
She writes that she put her foot down about having her own mother in the delivery room rather than her FIL (!), and she WOULD be getting an epidural. Her husband lost his shit. And in his outburst, he let slip--
I admittedly lost my temper, and told him that I wasn’t going to die- it wasn’t my fault his father’s trauma wormed it’s way into his head, and that he needed to fix it without taking it out on me. He yelled at me that he didn’t need therapy. That caught me a little off guard; I asked him why he went to his therapist and was given advice about my death if he felt he didn’t need it. His expression gave it away, and he caved not long after. It turns out there was no therapist. It was just his dad. During the times he was supposed to be at therapy, he was with his dad. I’m still fuming.
And that was when she got the fuck out.
I’ll wrap this up- I’ve got an adorable little toddler tugging at my leg atm. I’m alive, I’m happy, and I’ve got my baby in my arms. Life is good.
I truly never thought we'd see a resolution to this, and I feel like there's probably a good number of people who remember it, so I thought you might want to know.
ETA: Brilliantly, I put the link in at the top; here it is again for convenience.

An Overview of High Risk Pregnancies
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a1576907ec46060fcd1312d7b2c37275/ef78f7e5177fb55e-d9/s540x810/9efd128112919f846d1875c9f94b03d92579e459.jpg)
An estimated 3.66 million live births occur in the United States each year, a slight decrease compared to past generations. Although birth rates have fallen, the number of high-risk pregnancies has increased. Complications during birth have a low occurrence. However, over 23 percent of deliveries involve some complication, with 7.3 percent of births involving severe maternal complications. In addition, maternal mortality rates continue to rise in the United States. In 2021, 1,205 deaths occurred, which translated to a maternal mortality rate of 32.9 per 100,000 live births, up from 23.8 in 2020, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Moreover, high-risk pregnancies see more complications. “High-risk pregnancy” serves as an umbrella term used to describe countless conditions and situations that increase the likelihood of health risks for the pregnant mother and baby. For example, giving birth in a non-sterile environment may increase risk factors during delivery. Pregnant mothers who receive a high-risk pregnancy diagnosis require additional oversight during their pregnancy and delivery to minimize potential health threats. The medical community has deemed many unique types of high-risk pregnancies. Age, pre-existing health conditions, and unhealthy lifestyle habits cause most of them. Pregnancy-related issues can also arise. When it comes to age, healthy pregnancies typically involve mothers over the age of 17 and under the age of 35. However, older mothers can take steps to minimize the likelihood of birth complications. Still, health experts advise families to plan pregnancies for their late 20s to early 30s, with one study determining the ideal age to be 30.5 years. Younger and older individuals should discuss potential risks with their OB-GYN; women over the age of 40, for example, may benefit from inducing labor at 39 weeks to avoid increased risk of stillbirth. Many pre-existing health conditions can influence the health of the baby and the pregnant person during the pregnancy and delivery. High blood pressure, for instance, can negatively impact the placenta's chemical composition, hindering fetal development. Without medical intervention, advanced hypertension can cause seizures, stroke, and death in both the pregnant person and the fetus. Gestational hypertension or pre-eclampsia can overwhelm the expectant mother, as it can occur in pregnant women with no previous history of the condition. Other health conditions that increase the risk of pregnancy complications include polycystic ovary syndrome and fibroids. Diseases that impact pregnancy complications range from diabetes to kidney disease. Any person living at an unhealthy weight increases their risk of pregnancy complications, including pre-eclampsia and various blood-related issues, such as blood clotting problems. Mental health conditions can also result in high-risk pregnancies. Pregnant individuals living with depression are less likely to maintain appointments with their healthcare team and to follow basic elements of prenatal care, such as eating nutritious foods and maintaining a healthy weight. In addition to discussing specific high-risk pregnancy health concerns with doctors, families can minimize their chances of complications by adhering to the tenets of good prenatal health. Beyond eating right, prenatal health involves taking certain vitamins and medications, staying current on all basic health matters, such as immunizations, and refraining from unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, such as using alcohol or tobacco products.Close

The Schwanger Kommando in the Kaufering Subcamp of Dachau: A Forgotten Chapter of Holocaust Suffering
The Holocaust remains the most devastating and horrifying chapter in human history, marked by its relentless dehumanization and systematic annihilation of millions of people. Among the lesser-known stories is that of the Schwanger Kommando, or the “Pregnant Command,” which existed in the Kaufering subcamps of Dachau, one of the many Nazi concentration camps. Background: The Kaufering Subcamps of…

Newsflash!!! If your doctor says your baby has "gonads" that need removal or that there is a genital "deformity" these words are code for intersex baby. REFUSE UROLOGY SURGERY FOR YOUR INFANT UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE IT WILL EFFECT YOUR BABY IN THE NEXT YEAR. sometimes urethras are blocked or there's legitimate impact to functionality. Otherwise almost always surgery can wait till your child is old enough to understand what is happening. As someone who went through pediatric urology- you don't want them operating unless it's 100% necessary. The procedures are gruesome and traumatic (and often not anesthetized) most people use it as a first resort when surgery should ALWAYS be a last resort especially for minors.
