I’ve been rewatching Rebels with my mom and I had forgotten that in season 3 episode 3 Holocrons of Fate, there’s a part where Kanan is sent out of an airlock and is thrown out into space and uses the force to pull himself back to the ship (and he started to get ice crystals on himself by the time he makes it back inside the ship!) My mom and I both went “HEY WAIT!!!! Which happened first, this episode or The Last Jedi?” and this episode happened first!!! So I don’t wanna hear any bitching in my kitchen about Leia using the force to get herself back to the ship in TLJ because it had precedent!!!

I've not read any of the book(s) and I've not seen the show, so I really don't have an opinion, but it sounds like I wouldn't be into it just from what I've gathered. Someone told me on my other blog that it's more comrades to lovers to foeyay to some kind of vague compassion between her and the Darkling, but the story says she definitely needs to end up with her Raoul despite him shoving an extinguisher cap down on her light.

Thinking about a fic where Luo Binghe, post-Abyss but pre-Reconciliation, unlocks some kind of wishing artifact and wishes he wasn't half-demon.

Like there are so many ways that could go?

Option 1, reality warps all the way back to Airplane's first rough outlines. Airplane scraps the initial idea for a fantasy race of demons, and instead goes with the more genre-typical idea of demonic cultivation being a bunch of forbidden/evil styles of cultivation. All the demon characters become human. Luo Binghe finds himself in a version of reality where it's not just him who isn't a demon, no one is.

Option 2, the wish operates on strictly in-universe principles and rewrites only Luo Binghe's own history. Instead of being the child of Tianlang Jun and Su Xiyan, Binghe becomes the actual child of his adopted mother and some unknown sire. However, the plot still requires there be a protagonist born from TLJ and SXY, so now suddenly there is some new, other disciple on Qing Jing Peak who is suspiciously half-demon-like and keeps stealing Shizun's attention!

Option 3, the wish doesn't change anything about Luo Binghe's backstory/origins or the world, but does alter Luo Binghe's winning the genetic lottery so that instead of being a half-demon with evenly split potential, he's a half-demon who inherited zero demon abilities or traits. Shen Qingqiu has a heart attack because suddenly the protagonist is down several very vital advantages to his survival and the power-scaling of the setting is wildly unmanageable now.

anyway here are some half-thought out svsss fic ideas i was thinking about writing but wasn't sure about.

sqq/lbh selfcest: AKA they're actually both shen yuan and they're unknowingly wifebeaming each other. they eventually end up pointing each other and going "YOU????" probably there's a period of time where they're like "this twisted relationship, how could I possibly take part in this???" and attempt to break up for the sake of their own dignity. except it's too late. they're already irrevocably in love. they take turns bitching with and weeping at sqh about it. sqh is just like "bro.... bro, you've really got some interesting taste... is this what they call self-love...?"

qijiu mdzs reincarnation fic: yue qi is jiang fengmian and shen jiu is yu ziyuan. this fucks up the original jc-wwx-jyl dynamic soooo much. for example what if it is jiang yanli who spends a real fucking long time being the jiang heir. so what if she's a girl (anyone can be a cang qiong peak lord). who cares if she's weak (shen jiu was weak, too). it's her duty as the oldest child (to be strong enough to take care of the younger children). she drives herself hard. too hard, in fact. directly into a permanently damaging qi deviation. neither of her parents can bear to look at her, after. why won't they look at her. why won't they LOOK at her --

og sqh/yqy peak lords marriage: okay yes i already wrote this. but consider a version where yue qingyuan doesn't tragically die and they work on the whole communication and traitor-to-all-humanity thing. maybe an equitable arrangement can be made. maybe they can involve mobei-jun. maybe they can all kill his uncle together. truly this is the peak of romance.

sqh/tlj exes: consider shang qinghua being tianlang-jun's favorite porn writer. consider them being dubiously together, sort of, pre-su xiyan, before they break up for some reason. now consider them getting back together post-svsss. i'm sorry, mobei-jun. i'm sure you'll get in there somehow.

Out of curiosity, have you seen the rough pre-canon timeline put together by SVSSS-Fanon-Exposed?

Since seeing that timeline, and realizing the peak lords haven’t been peak lords terribly long (relatively speaking), I’ve realized there is a fairly good chance the Immortal Alliance conference where the Abyss opens up was the first conference where all the peak lords actually had disciples of their own old enough to debut.

Sure they might have had younger disciples that the previous generation selected that could attend previously, but possibly none of their own personal selections (though perhaps some previous peak lords let them make their own selections before ascending).

I have not! But I always assumed the current generation were young; the timeline doesn't make sense otherwise. I mean, YQY was a head disciple when TLJ got sealed and LBH joined CQM when he was twelve, and SJ's fiance could only be so old if she ended up as Bingge's wife in PIWD, even as a cultivator. And LQG and LMY's age gap could be big, yes, but not ancient if she was a teenage girl during demon invasion. Unless their parents are immortal cultivators as well, I guess.

But oh that is fun!!! I love that. It definitely puts a different sort of expectations on them, doesn't it? I do love that the current Peak Lords are all basically Young Adults in comparison to the other big sect leaders.

Though the immortal alliance conference is held every fourth year, so I do believe maybe it's the second time for them with their own disciples... I mean if we go by MF, anyway. no one can tell me he had any other Shizun than SQQ, he's too worshipping for that!

In the midst of the Oshamir hype, I want a moment to dive back into the roots of this blog.

My hopes for Reylo pre-TROS post-TLJ were high. Ben being redeemed was only a part of what I wanted for them. I wanted them to live HEA, and I don’t understand WHY that didn’t happen, when it could’ve made such a better ending. I guess redemption= death in SW.

Which is why while part of me is excited and invested in where this new ship might be going, another part of me is a bit envious.

It has been four years since we lost Ben, and I still think about it a lot. How much I leaned into the character in high school, knowing that he deserved better, and how much the writers let him down. How I STILL lean into him as my creative muse.

And you’re telling me it was THAT easy to put together two actors with good chemistry and write them a Star Wars romance where the legitimacy isn’t as questioned, where the writer seems to be on our side and where the ending of these two characters might even be…hmmm…

Satisfactory? Maybe even great?

I don’t want to get ahead of myself as I know that there’s a chance that these two new characters could go down a different path.

But still.

There’s obviously space for excitement here on the blog and there’s also space for those who haven’t forgotten what they did to Ben.
