Could I maybe request Jiang Cheng and Tianlang Jun? I think they could have a fun dynamic, TLJ reminds me of a more mature pre fall of Lotus Pier WWX. Plus there’s a couple good fics for them.

I realize that I am not helping the Jiang Cheng fandom bicylce situation but whatever.

So, the premise is this Shen Jiu respawns and since he's unhappy about his place in Cang Qiong Mountain Sect with the better liked impostor and the smug demon lord etc. He strikes out on his own and ends up in Lotus Pier where he works as JIang Cheng's second in command. Jiang Cheng unlike Shen Jiu's hypocritical former sect sibling does not tolerate abuse and does not throw a snit because a guy is ruthless and likes to sleep in brothels. (This could be the romance but it isn't because Qijiu rights.) Yue Qingyuan rolls up to Yunmeng Jiang Sect and after some drama, misunderstandings, and enough pining to make even seasoned veterans of the legendary XuanLi courtship roll their eyes, Qijiu get their shit together and get together. Yay, celebrations!! Jiang Cheng cries with both eyes, one is happy for his loyal SIC, the other is unhappy because once again someone dear to him is leaving him. Except Shen Jiu is like, no way, am I quitting, I'm not going back to Cang Qiong, they frown at murder, they don't like my cutting remarks! Jiang Cheng tries to gauge how Yue Qingyuan feels about that. Yue Qingyuan, on cloud nine, no problem, Shen-shidi can lead the sect while I visit. (this could lead to Qijiucheng but not right now as I am still getting to the point)

During the events of MDZS, Shen Jiu is vacationing at CQMS (aka smugly feeding YQY treats while his former sect siblings pretend they are unaware that the two of them are an item.)

So, MDZS ends. Jin Ling becomes Jin sect leader and his reign is stabilized with support from jiujiu and occasionally helpful advice from WWX.

And then some person decides SL Jiang has gotten too powerful let's knock him down a peg. They threaten to expose the core transfer. Jiang Cheng kills that person but the whole thing gets him thinking. He's not really ok with the whole transfer but what can he do it's not like he knows an immortal master...oh wait he does.

He writes a letter to Yue Qingyuan and Shen Jiu: Hey for no particular reason. Have you heard of a way to transplant a golden core from one person to another? Maybe you know a doctor who would agree to do it without the other person knowing?

YQY and SJ: WTF, my man?

It takes Qijiu all of five minutes to find out, why.

SJ runs back to YJS: No, you stupid idiot, you can't do it!!!

JC: My mind is made up. I will do it with or without you

YQY, after hearing the whole story: Hmm. I see your point. If you have carefully considered it. (Shen Jiu shoots daggers from his eyes.)

YQY: Anyways, have you met Tianlang-jun, my Shen-shidi's father in law. He's a scholar of the demonic arts and can definitely help you out.

Hello I am here to ask about Jiang Cheng!!

Sexuality Headcanon: I think he’s biromantic and demisexual. He doesn’t get a lot of crushes but the ones he does get he holds onto for life.

Gender Headcanon: Hes a guy, but more so in a ‘trying to perform his expected role as sect leader best’ then out of any real attachment to masculinity. If he’d been born a girl she’d have been doing everything in her power to be the best wife and leader she could be. It’s all about living up to expectations of his parents either way.

A ship I have with said character: I really like multishipping him. If you can come up with a story where a character appreciates and loves him I’m all for it! I’m especially fond of Chengxian and ChengQing though, I feel like they’re both the right amount of chemistry and tragedy I like. TianCheng is especially juicy though. 

A BROTP I have with said character: I’m super fond of the MXTX trans dimensional tsundere squad. Him, Mu Qing, and Liu Qingge would all be such bitches together and I love it. More so MQ and JC together but LQG would be an attentive listener. I also think he and Meng Yao could have been great friends together. 

A NOTP I have with said character: I don’t really have any major NOTP’s for him, but I’m not super fond of SangCheng. It’s not really my cup of tea.

A random headcanon: Jiang Cheng sings really well! He definitely used to sing all the time to a little Jin Ling to get him to go to sleep. 

General Opinion over said character: I love him! He’s so interesting and so broken that I can’t not. Plus it might be the older sister in me but I just want to take care of him.

CURRENTLY READING

I finished reading "The River of Silver," by S.A. Chakraborty, and am currently reading the preview excerpt from "The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi" found at the end.

I absolutely LOVED the Daevabad trilogy ("City of Brass," "Kingdom of Copper," and "Empire of Gold"), and 100% recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy adventure stories. It's about a street thief who ends up in a world of djinn and all sorts of other magical beings. The storytelling and the writing style are excellent, the plots are gripping, the characters, likeable and 3D, and the worldbuilding is excellent. "The River of Silver" is a collection of short stories from that world, with the characters in the main trilogy.

Al-Sirafi is a different story from the same author.

CURRENTLY WATCHING

"Love You Seven Times," an ancient fantasy Chinese drama about a professional shipper and the god of war (both immortals), who get unwillingly thrown into having to live seven mortal lives together as a couple (the first one, as animals). They Do Not Want. In addition, two other immortals jump in after them unnoticed.

The first few episodes are very light and funny, then you get angst. I'm hoping that the funny parts continue in later lives too.

NEXT ON TO-WATCH LIST

Well, I'd LOVE to watch "Wan Wan Lei Qing" (left; I really, really like this poster) with the assassin puppy who falls in love with his target, the bossy city lord who, for some reason, seems to have a collection of bondage gear in her room, but it's still not subbed; or "Ally Tiancheng Wonderful Accident," (right) about the food blogger who gets thrown into ancient times and an arranged marriage, but who knows when/if that's happening *glares at Youku* (ಠ_ಠ)

So if I'm still in the mood for something light-ish and fantasy-themed after I finish 💗U7x, I'm eyeing "The Princess and the Werewolf," which I've been told is sort of like a "The Beauty and the Beast" re-imagining.

CURRENT OBSESSION

Dramas. And drawing chibis that look like plushies that look like cats. I'll get back to my formal paintings soon, hopefully, but the chibis are very cathartic. I've been having a rough time this year, and the chibis soothe my soul.

After watching episode 8, everyone is discussing some kind of husk, not facts. Some minor points that will lead to nothing in the reasoning, and the most important and incomprehensible, no one is going to discuss at all as I understand it… Let's talk about Li Tiancheng Most of all, what interests me and just pisses me off is why Li Tiancheng in the "fight" with Lu Guang had to touch someone to "take possession" him? (Yes, let's put aside the question of how he was able to control two people at the same time and pretend that there's nothing in it.) As far as I managed to understand, Li Tianchen needs to see what a person looks like (and this, of course, is easiest to do with a photo) and after that he can take possession of them, as we could conclude from the previous episodes, but why then in ep8 it was necessary to touch?? I understand nothing…..🫥

Super excited for the coming prompts!! 1- A dodgy dragul wanders a swamp path reaching into her bag, threatening to cast a spell. 2- A soldier lies injured in a shallow trench amid an ending battle. 3- An albino Air-Dragul who lives above the clouds in the remarkable Tiancheng. 4- An underground miner uses the PME Suit to tunnel through a new shaft.
