Can we agree that Virgil listens to The Living Tombstone? Idk if this has been established in the fandom yet.

Can someone make more edits of Reylo and Oshamir? Still waiting on that kiss footage that they filmed for Oshamir and need something to tie me over (she says delusionally)

I think for a little while when they announced the cancellation, I was in a bit of denial and still reeling on the ending we got.
After watching Amandlas latest insta story, it’s sinking in. I don’t want this show to end.
I have been trying to draw a Qimir portrait, since the beginning of July. However, without knowing who he ends up fully being, with Oshamir being on the line, I can’t figure out how to accurately represent him. Who is Qimir really?
My drawing, like the show, is frozen in time. Until they finish their story in a book, or show more deleted scenes, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to move on.

Huh. That’s very interesting and intriguing. I like your perspective.
God, the problem is not racism or sexism. In Star Wars, there were strong female characters and there were people of color and no one had a problem with that. Seriously, such characters were in classic movies 1-6. However, the problem with The Acolyte is that the creators decided that it was enough to make the characters JUST women or JUST people of color and this would somehow sell the story to people. Well, look at the ratings. This show doesn't have a good script, an interesting plot - anything good at all, except a title about a strong woman, and also a black one. That's not how it works. If your characters are empty, progressivity will not save them.
Are the characters empty ? The heroine is simply summarized as being a strong woman, and black ? Is there nothing interesting in the plot ? Absolutely nothing good at all ? Wow... We must not have watched the same show at all, my word... Or then you are at a very high stage of bad times. And if you think that racism and misogyny are not a factor of deep hatred in the Star Wars fandom (hello The Last Jedi), and more specifically in the case of The Acolyte, you are very naive.

I hate to say this but I kinda agree with anon. If they’d put more effort into making Osha a character who makes her own choices, isn’t swept along for the plot and actively showcases her dark side tendencies throughout the show, then maybe. But the writing of Osha’s character specifically and the way it was acted felt bland. I did find her to shine in her scenes with Qimir but the rest of the time I couldn’t really get behind it. Because of this, I do wonder if they put an agenda before the characters.
I do agree though that there is a TON of racism and misogyny in the fandom and that must not be forgotten when approaching the topic.
(As a reminder: I am a big Oshamir shipper. However my account for the way Osha was written and portrayed does not need to exclude the joy I felt for the romance)

Mixed feelings about the cancellation. On one hand, I’m devastated that we won’t get any future Oshamir scenes because the training matches could’ve been so interesting, and a chance to see the formation of the KOR would’ve been cool.
However, the other part of me is happy that they can’t screw up these characters. I can rest easy knowing the last scene of Osha and Qimir is a hand hold (supposed to be a kiss) and that they cannot pull another Reylo and k!ll off one of the characters.
On top of this, I suspect the hate for the show will maybe die down now that some people have what they want. I can read my Oshamir fics, draw portraits and talk to the wonderful community here in peace.
Know that whatever it is you’re feeling, or wherever this news will take you, that it’s yours to feel and you’re allowed to be whoever you need to be. ❤️

Anyone ever watch the prequels/cw and think to themselves “damn, this is a lot of suffering, I sure hope the ending pays off?” and then remember that the Skywalker saga literally ends with the death of all Skywalkers? No? Just me?

The First Hit's Free - an Oshamir College AU
Rating: Explicit Chapters: 1/6
"And how do I strike you, Osha?" Qimir asks. Like gasoline in search of a spark, she thinks. Osha Aniseya is doing fine. She’s getting good grades at a great school, is best friends with her roommate, and in a long-term, stable relationship with her boyfriend. She even has her twin sister back in her life, for the first time in years. Everything in her life is progressing exactly as it should be, following the path that's been set out for her by people who only have her best interest in mind. But then one night, driven by a dangerous combination of bad timing, looming deadlines, and sheer desperation, Osha crosses paths with a charming stranger who threatens to throw her and all of her carefully laid plans into chaos. And the worst part is she's beginning to think she just might want him to.

Im going to start this off by saying that I’m kinda writing this post hoping to convinced of some other POV if I’m being honest.
But I do think if the choice came to Qimir or the dark side (being Plaguesis’ apprentice), I do think Osha would choose the dark side. I don’t know how Qimir will explain to her that Plagueis is his master without Osha pulling away. I don’t necessarily see her being able to k!ll him in cold blood, but I can see him realizing that Osha needs this to become her “best” self and convincing her to finish him off. On top of that, as much as I love Leslye and the narrative she created of Osha choosing her path, I also think that Osha might become another Rey, destined to be alone because of this potential ultimatum.
Qimir, I could see, easily choosing Osha over the dark side. We know he’s down bad, and that if given the choice to k!ll Osha and take his place as the rightful acolyte vs him saving Osha, he would always save her 10000%.
The rule of two seems to be a tragic bind on their story and unless Leslye has already thought ahead, and has kept the interest of the Osha x Qimir fans (like myself) in her mind, then I just don’t see a third way. I obviously hope that they become Ren, and I do see potential in that as she has stated that Kylos theme has been played in the story for a reason. My hope will always be that they escape the island and continue their lives together.
I don’t see a way unless Osha does some serious work on who she is and what she really craves.
