What if crowley was the model of the pre-Raphaelists?
Everyone painted Elizabeth Siddal, they were in love with her long wavy red hair.
The pre-Raphaelists decided not to follow the academy and paint freely, something inspired by a demon, but they were not so successful, the angels took care that the plan of a demon did not succeed.
(Also probably the academy belongs to an angel)
They painted on myths and legends, stories told by Crowley of his past.
And Crowley really loves them all, but he was still a demon and he cant die, so decide to fake her death during the landed of "Ophelia"
(I need drawings of this, really)

TODAY’S INSPIRATION
Today I started reading The Art of Pre-Raphaelists by Edmund Swinglehurst and it gave me a great insight into meaning and symbolism used in Pre-Raphaelists’ painting.
My favourites are:
The Christ in the House of His parents (J.E.Millais), where the artist decided to paint the Holy family as an ordinary one, not idealising any one of the members, actually, the other way around - we can clearly see Joseph working with his apron and fingernails dirty.
Trust me (J.E.Millais)
What I like about this painting is the fact, that it indicates father-daughter relationship that could be easily just cut out and transferred onto us, the daughters of our generation, the generations before us and the generations to follow. Every daughter with a bit of respect for her father has experienced this feeling - the fear on showing our father something he could possibly not approve of. But at the same time - look at the kindness in her father’s eyes. For me, it says “You know I want only the best for you.”
The Hireling Shepard (W.H.Hunt)
This painting contains a lot of symbolism some people may not be quite comfortable with. The author captured the shepherd procrastinating, neglecting on the sheep he’s supposed to be taking care of and carrying a small barrel of beer at his waist, which can only be translated as pleasure being a priority above his duty.

Nina Surel @ninasurel Born 1971 Buenos Aires, Argentina Sisterhood, 2014 Mixed Media Courtesy of Claudio Poleschi Arte Contemporanea
Read more about Sisterhood: www.ninasurel.com
Sisterhood explores the artist’s interest in early feminist literature. Her new series of portrait/landscape paintings and installations examines the theme of relationships and raises questions about identity, the self and takes as a starting point the Pre-Raphaelist Brotherhood (PRB). The group, funded in 1848 –the same year taken place the most widespread revolutionary wave in European history- called itself a reform movement intended to restore the spiritual integrity of arts and society. In this crusade, mythical female characters appear as the ideal subject matter. Surrounded always by intricate intriguing landscapes and decorative elements alluding to the Classical era, these beautiful women emerge overpowered by an aura of lassitude and self-effacement that echoes the so extended “safely dead” image identified with femininity at the epoch. Employing a wide range of media, such as photography and painting, assembling these with fabrics, buttons, jewelry, porcelain, and resin on wood, Surel’s multifacetedwork asks us to look within, to investigate and challenge our views of ourselves, the various roles or characters we play. The New Year, Family, Friends, and Cats - Spiritual Growth, Reflection, Personal Growth, Cats
The New Year, Family, Friends, and Cats – Spiritual Growth, Reflection, Personal Growth, Cats
Today, the very last day of the year is foggy and frozen. Later on this afternoon a much-loved friend is coming over. We’ll work on our knitting projects, talk, and eat throughout the day. It’s what we do when we get together. We rarely complete a project, it’s all about the time we spend together. That’s what matters most.
Time is a funny thing. Time after time I’ve subjected myself to…

PRE-RAPHAELISTS BROTHERHOOD
We decided to shoot some of our scenes at Hampstead Heath very early in the morning. The first reference that came to my mind in terms of playing with nature was the pre-raphaelist artists such as Waterhouse, Rosetti or Millais. The motive of Ophelia, drowning in water is something we definitely want to use in our movie.

Hi ! Can I ask Classicism & Pre-Raphaelistism ? Have a nice day :D
Hi! Thanks :) You too anon!!
Classicism: (Classical)  What is your favorite Greek or Roman myth and what’s it about?
Persephone being taken to the underworld for sure but with less kidnapping and more flower crowned queen of the underworld.
Pre-Raphaelitism: (Purity) Do you drink or do drugs regularly?
I do drink regularly but I very rarely get drunk anymore.
I don’t really feel comfortable discussing drugs on this blog just because a large portion of the studyblr community is very young and I don’t want to have any sort of influence in that regard.
