Family Secrets.
Tumblr media
Summary: There are somethings Alma Madrigal will never tell her children.  Encantober 2024: Secret. Trigger Warnings: Grief/mourning, past character deaths, trauma, etc.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Mami, story? Please.” Little Julieta asked in her doorway, chewing on her bottom lip nervously as she tugged on her sleep braids. Eyes wide and pleading as she looked up at her in her little teal nightgown. “Bruno can’t sleep.”
Alma sighed, setting the candle down. “I’ll be right there, cariño.”
The five year old beamed at her, before bolting out of the room and to her room where undoubtedly her siblings were waiting to hear the news.
“No running in the house, hija! You’re gonna hurt yourself!” Truth be told, Alma didn’t want to tell them a story. In fact, she wanted nothing more than to tell all three of her children to go to bed because it was late—so late that it was way past their bedtime—but the matriarch didn’t. Couldn’t. Not with the candle there to remind her that her husband, who’d been so excited to be a father, wasn’t there and that she was—that she was the only parent they had and they needed her to do all the things she and Pedro had planned.
Which meant that if the triplets wanted a bedtime story, they were going to get one. Even if Alma was beyond exhausted from trying to manage the town and three now superpowered children (one who could heal via food and needed supervision anytime she wanted to use her gift, one whose emotions controlled the weather, and one rat loving seer who saw things no child should) all by herself.
But nobody had to know that.
No, it would just be her and Casita’s little secret.
One of the many secrets Alma would never tell her children.
------------------------------------------------------------
Alma would never tell the triplets how their father had written stories for them that they would now never get to read because they’d been left behind when their family had fled from the burning remains of what had been their home.
Would never tell them how Pedro had run a shop that he had planned to hand down to them and their children and their children’s children, or that he’d had a brother named Benito who’d worked at the shop with him who had been so excited to be a tío that he’d fallen out the window and dropped a hammer on his foot when trying to make them their first toys.
Alma would never tell Pepa how she’d gotten her red hair from Pedro’s mother, Rosa, and her temper from her own mother, Alba.
Would never tell Julieta how she could pass as her abuela Alba’s twin.
She’d never tell Bruno how he has his abuelos’ (Andre and Fernando) black curls and how he reminded her of his grandfathers, his grandmother Rosa, and both her brother, Raimi, and Pedro’s brother, Hernado.
She’d never tell her babies of where they’d came from or how their father, Pedro, hadn’t been the only one to die so they could escape.
Bruno, Pepa, and Julieta would never know what they’d lost.
Who’d they lost.
They wouldn’t know of their tía Alejandra, who’d turned into a giant red panda and grabbed her sword and screamed at Alma and Pedro and Bentio and Raimi to go and take the niños.
They wouldn’t know of their grandparents who’d fallen behind in the crowd or their tíos who’d run off with their primas who weren’t that far in age from them.
The Madrigal Triplets would grow up not knowing what their mother had lost and the secrets of the family would die with her, if Alma had anything to say about it, and they would be safe. Even if Alma had to give smile and grit her teeth the whole way, and appease the village on her deathbed.
They deserved that much.
They deserved more than that, actually, but Alma couldn't bring back the dead so they'd all have to settle for second best and hope that they were making Pedro proud.

a little underappreciated detail about mirabel is how it’s likely she has an interest in horse riding! the only basis I have for this is a small scene in the movie but I love the implication of this being one of her hobbies!
Tumblr media
we see how bruno approaches mirabel & alma on horseback but he’s uncoordinated and struggling (poor guy lmao) whilst this could be due to being in the walls for a decade I also think it’s because he doesn’t actually know much about horse riding as he’s never had an interest in it!
Tumblr media
now compare this to mirabel who seems to know EXACTLY what she’s doing, she’s cool calm and collected and it almost comes naturally to her! I believe this is because she actually has an interest in horse riding! we already know she has many hobbies so I don’t think it’s far fetched to speculate this is another one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also take in mind she is riding bare back here! notice how Bruno appears nervous (and is the whole ride back to the encanto) but alma is smiling she’s fully confident I believe this is because mirabels done this many times before!
Tumblr media
also the way she does this jump so effortlessly!? and riding bareback is way harder too! Usually only experienced riders do this! so I think the fact mirabel 1. Isnt nervous at all about this and 2. alma isn’t nervous at all implies she’s experienced in some way
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she just seems like she really knows what she’s doing and the horse doesn’t seem uncomfortable either! so yeah this is my mirabel is a horse rider theory!

Encantober pt 1: prompt 'healing' @encantober-official
Post movie Mirabel still has a long way to go, just like everyone else in the family. Sadly, her repression issues make it hard- after all, everything is ok now- shouldn't she be as well..? Luckily Tía Armida knows all too well the feeling, and is able to talk to her about it
Using some of encantober prompts to do more oc and canon interactions that I don't normally but should- starting with our beloved mirabel- that hug is long overdo 💛

I have an idea for a story I like to call Dos Oruguitas: The Mariposa and the Cameleon
It’s the story of Camilo and Mirabel’s relationship and how it changed over time.
Since they are only six weeks apart, they were born basically twins 🤞and grew up together as the best of friends. Just like Isabela, Dolores and the Triplets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credit to @lintushadow-art )
However, things began to 👀, shift, when Mirabel didn’t get a gift.
I imagine the aftermath of that day was difficult for the both of them.
For Camilo, his best friend was just denied a gift, when he himself just got one. While he tried his best to comfort her, it must have been very hard for him to accept. It’s likely he felt guilty and tried to avoid shifting whenever they played together.
Meanwhile, Mirabel just couldn’t help being jealous or heartbroken. 💔 Her primo, her twin, got a gift, but for some reason she didn’t. For a long time she must have worried that something was seriously wrong with her and nothing anyone said could change that.
Then add the fact that Tio Bruno just up and left days after her ceremony. The family was already worried about Mirabel and the magic, and now they’re dealing with the pain and loss of a family member. A primary caretaker and play mate for the kids has disappeared with no explanation. Just like Mirabel’s door.
This would definitely lead to some abandonment and attachment issues.
Tumblr media
There was probably a lot of fighting and anger, blame and accusations thrown about too. They might have even avoided each other for some time due to their own insecurities.
However, they still loved each other and they’re best friends, so of course they made up. But in spite of their closeness, they still drifted apart with time. They grew up and faced a lot of big changes. They started going to school; made new friends; developed their own separate interests; took on more responsibilities in town; welcomed a new family member; and just started spending less and less time together and more time apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ten years later, we’re at the start of the movie, now, they’re still pretty close, but they aren’t best friends anymore. For Mirabel, that title belongs to Antonio, now.
So yes, it would be cool to explore the evolution of their relationship. Before and after the events of the movie as they fall apart, only to reunite again.

NEW ENCANTO LORCANA PLAYING MAT!
(I'm pretty sure this mat is fairly new. I'm just going off on the "PRE-ORDER" label this one had on eBay (and its current "unavailable" status it has online at places like Target.)
However, it's always possible this map came out around a year ago due to its similarity to already existing Encanto cards.
Perhaps it could've dropped sometime earlier this year, around the same time the similar "Look At This Family" Lorcana cards debuted.

Ngl, I would love to see a Lego video game adaptation of all the Disney Princess movies, although I have zero idea how the devs at Lego could make that work properly. If not that, then at least an adaptation of the Renaissance movies or even some of the Post-Renaissance/Experimental and Revival ones. A combo of the three eras, perhaps? The possibilities are endless!
#disney#lego#disney princesses#video games#txt#the ones that would be most likely to be included would probably be the little mermaid aladdin the lion king hercules mulan#EVEN atlantis lilo & stitch tangled wreck it ralph frozen franchise big hero 6 (that one is obvious) moana raya and the last dragon and#encanto#of the pre-1989 ones the rescuers winnie the pooh robin hood the aristocats jungle book the sword in the stone one hundred and one#dalmatians sleeping beauty (mainly for the end) peter pan alice in wonderland#and pinocchio. those are ones that would be more likely to appear as actual levels and missions#some of those movies might be bonuses and dlc's (probably the ones from the dark era and later silver era tbh)#characters from other popular franchises would be included in the game and they would have be unlocked through an specific puzzle being#resolved the lego pieces being acquired completing the game or bonus missions#or characters that you have to pay as dlc's which would suck yeah but it is what it is#i mean!!!! i hope someone who works at the lego video game company comes across this post. i WANT this video game to happen#the incredibles has already gotten a lego video game so i think this should happen#oh yeah only wdas characters would be included#characters from bought franchises would not be included#i'm basically laying out how i would do a lego video game 😭💀#@ lego devs PLS pls pls pls make it happen#i forgot to add treasure planet although lbr between lilo and stitch and treasure planet the devs would choose lilo and stitch simply#because of its popularity and marketability

When all you want is to sleep comfortably,
A/N: apologies for disappearing for so long but I had a lot to do for college. I'll try to start posting again but I can't make too many promises.
Phases
"Goodnight mi flor," Julieta whispered kissing Isabela's head.
Once julieta left, Isabela tossed and turned in her bed, trying to get comfortable but unfortunately she got wrapped up in her loose nightgown.
She groaned before she sat up and yanked the pink fabric over her head and tossed it to the floor by her bed. As soft as it was it was too loose and kept getting tangled around Isabela. Mere moments after the annoying fabric had landed on the floor the eldest madrigal had fallen into a deep sleep.
Down the hall Dolores was getting ready for bed when her mother came in to check on her and tell her goodnight.
"Mi bebé, I came to say goodnight," Pepa said stepping into Dolores's room.
"Mama?" Dolores said emerging from her closet.
"I'm right here lola, come sit," Pepa said patting the 12 year olds bed.
"can I ask something?" Dolores asked sitting on her bed.
"ask away mi vida," Pepa said
"it's nearly my time, and I was curious about a few things I've been feeling," Dolores said shyly, still unfamiliar with her cycle despite having it for almost a year.
Pepa assured her that having questions was normal and answered them, remembering how she had to go digging for this knowledge on her own.
"Its perfectly normal to get cramps in your thighs from your period, trust me tia Julieta said it herself," Pepa assured tucking her eldest into bed.
"Ok mamá goodnight," Dolores yawned curling into her blankets.
Pepa kissed her niña's head, and closed her door with a light click. Before Dolores truly settled in she peeled the yellow fabric of her nightgown off and then snuggled into her blankets clutching her fluffy owl to her bare chest. The feeling was odd since she had never slept without a nightgown before. Dolores enjoyed the feeling and curled into her blanket and fell asleep within minutes
The next morning Pepa was in charge of waking up the kids. Camilo and Mirabel had a sleepover in Camilo's room so Pepa gave a knock, then stepped in to get the pair woken up and dressed. Once she'd sent them down to Julieta she made her next stop at Luisa's room. She opened the door and gently patted Luisa's hip until said girl had finally opened her eyes, "buenos dias tia," she sleepily mumbled reaching out to hug Pepa.
Luisa was always her favourite to wake, because Luisa loved cuddles in the morning so she could have a moment to spend with her sobrina wrapped up in happy cuddles.
"Buenos dias mi sobrinita, I need to wake the other girls, get dressed and I'll be back to do your hair," Pepa said sitting Luisa down on the short stool by her dressing table. Believe it or not, Luisa is light for her age, even with her gift. And she takes full advantage of her light build. She loves when Julieta lifts her onto the counter to sit while she makes arepas, or when Agustin gives her piggyback rides. She especially loves when Pepa wakes her up and carries her around her room for a little while while they cuddle, and sometimes if Pepa hasn't dressed, she'll help Pepa pick an outfit, all while Pepa holds onto her in a soft warm cuddle.
"Ok tia," Luisa yawned in the affirmative, and Pepa left to go wake the eldest two.
She started with Isabela, since she was right beside Lu.
A knock at the door proved that Isabela was definitely her mother's daughter sleeping like a rock until she either got up on her own or was forced awake by someone else.
With that Pepa opened the door to Isabela's room. She walked towards the bed and isabela had shifted in her sleep tossing the cover off herself. Usually Pepa wouldn't be surprised by this but when the blanket was thrown away from Isabela all she saw was skin. No nightgown, no camisole. Just Isabela's bare chest, which wasn't a big deal since it was Pepa waking her this morning, but what if it had been tio Felix, or her father. None the less she woke Isabela up, and Isa immediately pulled her sheet to her chest as her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Isabela didn't say a word at first, but she didn't have to because Pepa was the one to break the silence.
"Isa, there's nothing to be embarrassed over, trust me. It's just something of a phase you go through, I will say, you got lucky this morning since it was me, but be careful when you sleep like this ok," Pepa said reassuring Isa that sleeping in her underwear or fully nude was normal, just to be careful and choose when she slept like this wisely.
"You get dressed, I'm going to wake up Lola," Pepa told noticing that roses bloomed on Isabela's chest for her to hide in until she had an actual top or dress on.
"Ok tia," Isabela said as Pepa left her room.
She took the short walk to Dolores's room and gently opened the door. Her daughter was wearing her head wrap and was sleeping soundly. Her blanket was thrown off her top half much like Isabela, but she was sleeping on her stomach so her chest was pressed into her mattress.
"Lola," Pepa said quietly as she coaxed Dolores to wake up.
"Buenos dias mama" Dolores said as she reached to her right to grasp Pepa's hand and give it a squeeze, a little habit she has picked up as a child.
"Buenos dias mi niña, sleep well?" Pepa asked trying to brace the subject of her sleepwear, or lack thereof.
"I slept well mama," Dolores said sitting up, she pulled the yellow nightgown discarded the night before over her head as she pushed her head wrap up to uncover her eyes.
"Seems you did, is this the first time you've done this or just the first time I caught you," Pepa asked being a bit more straightforward since Dolores had no shame or embarassment about her body. Yet.
"First time I did it, it felt weird, but in a good way," Dolores said stretching.
"Well, little piece of advice, be careful of when you do that, you got lucky since it was my turn to wake you this morning" Pepa said
"Ok mama, I'll make sure," Dolores said crawling out of her blankets to sit on the side of her bed.
"Alright, come down for breakfast when you're dressed," Pepa said giving Dolores a light hug.
She returned to Luisa and fixed her hair with a warm smile on her face, her thoughts racing with a desperate need to talk to Julieta. Once Luisa's hair was done, she and Pepa made their way downstairs.
Luisa was soon scooping Isabela, Dolores, Camilo, and Mirabel up from the living room to take them outside to play. Thankfully giving Pepa enough time alone to talk to Julieta, but not before a coffee.
"What's wrong mi hermana? I know you've got something on your mind," Julieta asked stirring together some cinnamon and sugar to sprinkle over the apples she'd just cut.
"Isa and Lola are going through that phase," Pepa grimaced
"Which one? We have a whole alphabet of teenage phases," Julieta said refilling Pepa's coffee mug.
"Let me put it this way, their sleepwear has changed," Pepa grimaced
"Ooh, that phase," Julieta sighed, "should we talk to them? I mean we went through the dormido desnudo phase when we were their age," Julieta reasoned pulling warm arepas off her cooktop.
"I know, but what do we tell them, if we tell them its wrong then they'll get the wrong idea of it and think its bad, its perfectly normal, but if we tell them that then they'll still do it, and we won't know when they do it, and that could lead to some awkward conversations or incidents." Pepa told weighing their options.
"I've got an idea," Julieta said
In the garden Luisa Isabela Camilo Mirabel and Dolores were kicking a ball around, when Dolores quirked her ear and said
"Cmon Isa Tia's calling us in," Dolores grabbed her older prima's wrist and ran inside with her, she had no idea why she grabbed her wrist but she did. Plus it was funny to hear isa yelling to slow down behind her
"You called?" Dolores said once the two were in the kitchen with Julieta and Pepa,
"Si, now its come to my attention that the pair of you are sleeping without your nightgowns?" Julieta asked
Both girls looked at each other and then back to Julieta embarrassed to admit their secret.
Julieta took that as a yes, and continued
"It's perfectly normal to experiment with sleeping desnudo, Pepa and I did it when we were your age. But to keep any awkward situations from happening, after breakfast Pepa and I will show you how to make a sign for your doors, that way in the morning, whoever has to wake you up will know to let Pepa or myself wake you." Julieta told to the blushing girls
"Can we make them now while the others are outside?" Dolores piped up
"Si mi nina, I'll go get everything you two will need, go ahead and sit," Pepa said going upstairs to grab her art supplies.
When Pepa returns with pens paper and string, she shows Dolores and Isabela what to do and leaves them to make their own designs. At Least now Pepa wouldn't be shocked to walk into one of their rooms and see an excess of skin
"Thank goodness mamá doesn't wake the kids, Isa would die if she did, and I truly dont like that isa has to uphold a perfect persona all the time when mama is around her," Julieta sighed continuing making breakfast
"I know, maybe we should let her sleep in one day when we know mama will be busy and give her a day to be herself, " pepa suggested
"You're a genius Pepa. We can do that probably tomorrow, mama has some plans with her amigas. We can keep the kids at home and make a day of it," Julieta said as she turned the sausages over
About a year later Luisa had her own sign to hang having also been caught, by Isabela.
"Look Julieta, Isa's showing Lu how to make the little door sign I showed her how to make," Pepa said as a small rainbow sprouted above her head at her nieces' interaction.
"It's good to see her talking to Lu and Mira, mama has her drawn so tight it's rare these days," Julieta said peeking out from behind her book. "Especially now since mama has her yanked tighter than ever with the perfect persona. I really hate that she had to stop wearing her favorite blue dresses in favor of more elegant pink ones to show her maturity"
Pepa agreed and continued smiling over her sobrinas.
Mirabel didn't quite get the chance to go through this phase at the same age her sisters did, due to Antonio being in the nursery with her. But when casita was rebuilt and she finally got her own room she was caught, her nightgown tossed to the chair and her chest against a pillow as she slept soundly.
"Mira, wake up," Julieta said.
The 16 year old slowly woke but once he brain had caught up she yanked her blanket to her chest.
"Mama! I-I" Mira studdered trying to explain
"Mi bebé, calm down, it's nothing to be ashamed about. All the girls went through it, even me and your Tia Pepa," Julieta told handing Mirabel her gown.
"Really?" Mirabel asked
"Yes really. You wouldn't believe how many times I caught both your sisters sleeping on their backs with their chests in the air. And honestly, I don't blame them. Sometimes sleeping nude is a nice change of pace" Julieta said. "After breakfast, ask Isa to show you how to make the sign for your door, she showed Lu about four years ago."
Mira smiled and straightened her gown before heading downstairs.
"it's about time you danced on the wild side. Come on we can all make new ones together, mine just broke and Luisa and Lola's are on the verge of breaking" Julieta heard her eldest say.
Things changed after the fall of Casita, and Julieta has to say seeing her daughters act like sisters again is the best change of them all.

Swap sisters because yes.
Luisa is annoying. Honestly, I understood that you're so strong and the best fighter, why should Abuelo remind us about it two hundred times per day? Is having super strength immediately gives you some armour? I'm a goddamn eldest, I should be the one who's allowed to do the most. (SHE'S SO COOL, CAN I HAVE A SWORD? I'M SO DAMN ENVIOUS OF HER ENERGY!! PLEASE, I NEED TO BE A FREAKING BADASS WHO CAN SHOVE OFF ALL THE BAD GUYS)
I suppose Mirabel is okay. She's just doing... Something. I honestly can't imagine what it would be like with as much control as this. Abuelo prefers for her to stay with the "strong" part of the family. I have been her babysitter a few times, but it's really rare.
We were close as children. Not so much right now. I'm usually too busy with practicing my skills. And I can't let Isabela into my room, she'll definitely try fight me and get under the hit by accident. I don't want to harm her by accident. Even if I'm really handful of my strength, anything can happen.
I think Isabela usually spends her time with Dolores. And I'm not being out of my room too often to know what she's doing. But I think it would be great not to have Abuelo watching you constantly or be viewed as she weakest link inside the family.
Mirabel is not much different. Tho I got my gift when she was a baby we couldn't spend much time together. It probably got worse after the ceremony. If she was in my room, she probably wouldn't try to do anything, but I'm still not taking this risk. She's so small, it would take so little to harm her... I have to be strong enough to protect her
Luisa is sort of a person we have to try to be. Not in a sense of strength, but in how careful and responsible she is. She's probably the only person who never looks over me. Abuelo says that she has to train and she can't do this in nursery. Sometimes (read: always) I wish to be like she is. Maybe then Abuelo would trust me enough to do anything.

Hay Que Volar, Hay Que Encontrar Su Propio Futuro!
Tumblr media
Summary: The night Pedro dies isn’t the first time he and Alma have seen that river.  Title in English: You Have To Fly, You Have To Find Your Own Future.
------------------------------------------------------------
“¡Ay dios mío! ¡Pedro!” Alma shrieked, splashing her boyfriend as he hunched over with laughter after she slipped into the river that was slowly becoming their spot.
All while both of their brothers (Raimi and Benito) and their friend, Alejandra, cackled in amusement.
“¡Lo siento, lo siento!” Pedro gasped out between his laughter, not looking sorry at all. “Lo siento, mi amor.”
Raimi snickered. “ I don’t think he’s all that sorry, mi hermana. Though I can’t say I blame him, how do you trip and fall into a river that’s six feet away?”
The dark haired girl scowled at her younger brother. “It was not that far away!”
“Was too.”
“Was not, tu pequeña mierda!”
“Ooo name calling are we now? What would Mamá and Papá say, Señorita Perfecta?”
Alma glowered and splashed the teen in the face, which only made the others—Pedro included—laugh more.
“Pedro!”
“¡Lo siento, lo siento!”

I’m bored so here’s user jacarandaaaas hot takes rapid fire round
- I don’t think camilo is an asshole who’s heartless and I hate content that portrays him as such
- pepa is not a bad parent because of one 5 second scene where camilo comforts her
- julietas trauma is undermined a lot of the time and compared to her daughters
- comparing the characters trauma is weird
- i don’t think isabela is crazy violent post movie and would hate to be seen that way
- luisa is an introvert
- I don’t like the take that bruno avoided the kids pre movie I actually think he would spend more time with them than the adults
- I hate parentified mirabel. she’s 15 let her have fun she does not need to babysit people who are all older than her
- on another note yall undermine mirabel too much just because she has trauma but so does every other character. mirabel is not the only one who is traumatized and her trauma doesn’t make her any less capable than anyone else.
- isabela is smarter than she’s given credit for
- luisa is the most feminine out of the sisters but y’all discredit that because she has muscles even tho the movie has an entire song about how she wants to be seen as more than that.
- dolores can be fun
- camilo is watered down to being just “crazy” but y’all ignore how caring and considerate he is too just cause he’s a teenage boy
- let mirabel say fuck
- this one isn’t even a hot take anymore but none of the characters are perfect and that includes Bruno
- talking about bruno I hate when he’s shown to be completely incompetent at everything
- same with mirabel
- I think it takes a lot of time for isabela to fully embrace imperfection as we saw after wecid how fast she reverted back
- alma is not evil or villainous at all but people have a right to be upset at how she acted (the movie makes this a point she does say mean things) her actions are understandable not inexcusable
- going from one toxic dynamic to a different toxic dynamic doesn’t make it any less toxic (codependency)
- isabela and mirabels relationship is mutually strained
- luisa wasn’t a good sister just because she ignored mirabel instead of belittling her
- mirabel was just as ignorant as everyone else and I’m tired of y’all acting like she knew the whole time when she didn’t
- pepa never hated bruno and y’all didn’t understand wdtab
- LET MIRABEL BE FUN AND SILLY
- antonio wouldn’t abandon mirabel for his animals he already loved animals premovie anyways
- isabela is a huge softie and I hate how overlooked that aspect of her is
- luisa never hated isabela
- dolores never intended on ruining isabelas proposal she just heard a prophecy that everyone’s lives were gonna be ruined and was terrified
- mirabel has friends
- luisa is a grown woman who is capable of doing things for herself
- I think camilo was the most distant when bruno came back but after a while they became really close
- mirabel is brunos fav i mean come on she literally saved his life
- i don’t think pedro is given enough respect
uh yeah that’s all I have for now lmao

The stars don't shine, they burn, and boy did Crowley know his stars. And the shine of his favorite star in the sky could never compare to the everyday radiant light of his angel. But stars burned, and being too close to the celestial hurt him in ways he never thought were possible. Except, demons were meant to play with fire; they were meant to burn. So maybe it was okay if he stood just a bit too close to Aziraphale for his own good most days. Or at least, that's what he told himself.
He did worry about his angel though, for stars were lonely and often forgotten in the vast canopy of other stars. Very few humans loved just one star, instead marvelling at them as a whole. Being a star was a solitary existence, and no creature could ever get too close without being blinded or burned. Eventually, even the hottest, brightest stars would burn themselves to a crisp, and then explode in a grand destruction, reduced to dust and colorful matter drifting through space. Sometimes, when Crowley looked too long in his angels eyes, he saw blue giants swelling with love and light and he feared the day they would go nova. He created novas, after all, hell he created every star in the bloody sky and then some.
He was so proud of his celestial lights, and yet even with his joy over his beloved cosmic creations, God had once again outdone him by creating Aziraphale, the brightest celestial light that there ever was.
In a way, Aziraphale was the last thing between Crowley and full demonhood. Because when he Fell, he lost everything. His faith, his grace, his name. And he loathed. He angered. He raged. And he went up to Eden, to look upon God's new creations and tempt them away from Her. And there he was. Crowley had whispered in Eve's ear, tempted her to the apple and watched from the ground as she led Adam to humanity's destruction.
So you can imagine his surprise when mid-exile from the garden, an angel came up to the couple and offered them his flaming sword, to protect them and their unborn child from the dangers of the outside world. But that wasn't right at all. God and Her whole lot were rotten, sanctimonious, unimaginative, and so very apathetic in their holiness. Every angel he had ever known had blindly followed God's will, and Her will right now was to kick the humans out of the garden to fend for themselves as punishment. So why would an angel, an agent of the holy agenda, secretly give away a blessed artifact to the very humans he was meant to be judging right now?
His apologetic smile had been so soft and sincere that Crowley thought for a moment that the being wasnt an angel at all, but rather Grace incarnate. A being more pure and Good than the archangels themselves. But no, there he was, ushering them out of the garden before the storm arrived and blocking up the exit after they were gone.
He couldn't help but go up to the winged creature standing anxiously on the wall. He couldnt resist the temptation to speak with this being, this force of empathy. And he did and there was Aziraphale and Crowley found himself falling all over again. One afternoon, one interaction, one act of kindness, and suddenly all of his anger, all of his disgust, and all of the empty longing at the center of his being vanished. In its place, he found the echo of his Faith.
Somehow in his Fall, the warped core of his inhuman heart had burned to a crisp, but sheltered the tiniest hint of his hope, and it reared its ugly head then in his chest as he stared in amazement at this miraculously Good angel before him. It was as he'd said, by God's rules, he had been the one to do the good thing, and Aziraphale had been the one to do the bad. And the next 6000 years were history.
He may not believe in God or her bloody Plan, but he believed in Aziraphale, and his angel's unfailing ability to always do the right thing regardless of anyones blasted plans, even his own. All he had ever done in his entire existence, his whole relationship with the Almighty, had been to question. It was why he Fell. Why he didnt Fall as far as the others. But he found himself one night, bottle of whiskey in his hands and his twinkling creations above his head, speaking to God again. It was a habit he'd picked up and never been able to shake.
This time was different, however. After 60 centuries on Earth among the humans, this was the first time he didn't scream or beg or curse his questions at the heavens. Instead, he quietly admired his accidental constellations and whispered so quietly that only She would ever hear it.
"If there's one thing You ever got right, it was him. In all of Eternity, You have never made anything else that compares to that angel, not even your beloved whales. So I'm saying this once, now. Thanks. I don't care if You meant to or not, but You gave me the opportunity to live with the embodiment of my stars for the last few millennia, and for that one blasted, blessed thing I'll actually thank You, You bloody autocrat. But if You dare to cast him out, to try to throw him in with my lot, I'll hunt You down. I'll collapse space and time and matter itself until I reach You and I'll rip the blessed essence right out of Your incorporeal grace, do You understand me? He's the one truly Good thing You've ever done, don't You dare muck it up now."
If anyone ever asked him about it later, and of course no one ever did, he would deny thanking God for anything, and he would especially deny ever being grateful for the angel that left him behind.

Rain drops
Pepa thought that her powers wasn't really useful. But now... Maybe she could help Luisa?
Pepa worriedly drummed a melody with her fingers. The town was mad, because Julieta couldn't work. Despirite all of Pepa willing to hit somebody with a lightning, she took a deep breath understanding that mami totally wouldn't appreciate it. Pepa raised her head as she saw how her hermana went down the stairs with a tired face, dark circles under her eyes explained how bad everything was.
"How's Luisa?!" Pepa ran to the stairs and gave a hand to her sister.
"She's got a fever again." Julieta whispered closing her eyes leaning aganist the wall as if she was too tired to stand still.
Yes, Luisa was born as a good big girl. Pepa could say that she was totally bigger than Isabela or Dolores. At first all Pepa thought that her second sobrina was absolutely healthy, but very soon she became too hot. So hot, that Pepa thought that Luisa had some sort of imaginary sun over her head, sun that was always burning her. Just like her own, except the fact that Pepa could control it at least a little bit.
Of course, it made everyone sickly worried. Agustin almost fainted, as he admited that his secondary cousin died from overheating when she was newborn.
Pepa always thought that she was prone to overworrying. Well, Julieta totally had some of it too. She almost lived in a children's room now, trying her best to cold Luisa down. Pepa realized that her hermana would go outside only when Agustin was looking after Luisa. And she still was too worried to do something about her work. Isabela and Dolores didn't understand what was happening, but they knew that Julieta was busy with Luisa. And Isabela was so mad at it. A few days ago she ran away (if hiding under the table counting as it) after having a whole bloom hysterics with throwing her toys and stomping her feet. Little Isabela couldn't understand what happened and why her parents gave so much attention to her hermanita.
Well, atleast Julieta got some sleep with Isabela in her bed to prove that her mami still loved her.
Julieta took a deep breath walking into the kitchen. Pepa followed her. Julieta took a glass af water with her shaking hands and blew it off in an instant, then she put it back with a such brute force, that glass cracked. Julieta shuddered looking inside, then she groaned and trew glass into the trash can that Casita moved to her.
"Julieta, you have to sleep." Pepa put her arm on Julieta's shoulder. "Agustin can look after Luisa." She tried to hold down the wind.
Julieta sighed, taking another glass and filling it with water. "Agustin needs to be looked after him himself." Water spilled on the kitchen table with a slipping sound.
"Clear skies.." Pepa mumbled through her clutched teets. Julieta glanced at the puddle on the table as if it had awswers for her whole life. It was wrong, so awfully wrong. Pepa supposed to be the one, who panic because of something, the one who couldnt sleep because of worries (well, she finally could, thanks to Felix). And Julieta supposed to be the one who take care of everyone. The one who make sure that Pepa and Bruno were alright. But here they are.
Pepa muttered unhappy when a couple of raindrops fell on her head. Great, then it would become rain, and soon it would be a downpour. She roared something to herself, in her opinion, her gift was way more of a curse than an actual blessing. She almost imagined mami's face looking at her with the same discontent, as always when she's saying. "Pepa, you have a cloud."
Julieta shuddered with her eyes opened wide as a couple of drops fall on her as well. She turned her face to Pepa and a small smile of hoping appeared on her face.
"Sorry, I didn't mean it." Pepa explained quietly, clutching her dress. "Clear.." She only started her regular mantra to get distracted, when Julieta jumped to her and grabbed her hands.
"Pepa, could you rain on Luisa?!" Julieta's eyes was glowing with hoping happiness, her smile no longer seemed forced for the first time in two weeks. "Maybe you could cold her down?"
A few seconds later, a sweet rainbow appeared next to them, Pepa hugged her Hermana, trewing her into the air for a moment. Really, Pepa usually create a rain for others when it was too hot, why didn't she thought about it earlier. "I will." She promised firmly, as she let Julieta down. "I'll take my book." Pepa used to read sad stories wherever she might need to create bad weather. Or just went to Felix, she didn't know why, but her husband always helped her to create exactly that weather that she wanted. Deep inside, Pepa thought that it was her husband's gift.
She ran into her room faster than a hurricane, her hair almost glowed in the sunshine as she grabbed her favourite book. In the same hurry she opened the nursery door. Her hair became messy, and her eyes was widened as if she was she evil genius.
"Ah!" Agustin screamed in shock as he fell from the sofa. He looked up and raised his eyebrows as he saw Pepa. "Do you need something?"
Pepa bite her lip, as she remembered how much everyone was suffering because of their situation. Raindrop called on her nose. She concentrated to take the cloud to Luisa's baby crib. Pepa smiled softly, and a small sun stared to appear from the cloud, then she startled worriedly. A light wind blew in the room. Pepa swallowedas she opened her emotional book, flipping through the pages until she found pencil note on the margin where was written "Rain".
"So..?" Pepa turned around when she heard Agustin's voice and saw how confused he was looking at her.
"Juli asked to create rain to cool Luisa down." Pepa explained with a nod.
His eyes shone, as he smiled softly. "Do I have to..." He stopped when Pepa whole her head and turned to the door, wordlessly asking Agustin to leave her alone. "Call us if you need something." He sighed happily and slowly walk to the doorway, then stopped and turned to the Pepa again. "Thank you, Pepa, you're the best!"
She had to pull all of her strength together to not create the burning sun.

In Their Eyes I See You;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Alma didn't just lose Pedro.
She lost everything.
Aka Alma sees Pedro and their families in their triplets.
Encantober Bingo 2024: Recognition.
Trigger Warnings: mention of grief, raids, fighting, threats of violence, and implied character death.
Co-written with @igetthedisneybox .
------------------------------------------------------------
Contrary to popular relief, Alma Olga Madrigal Botero (formerly Botero Molinari) didn't just lose her husband the night the raiders attacked.
Didn't just lose her wonderful, wonderful, playful, thoughtful, poetic Pedro….
No.
She lost much more than her husband. Much more than her triplets’ father.
She lost everything.
Her home. Her parents. Her brother. Pedro's family. Even some of her friends.
Alma had lost everything she had ever known in one night, with the exception of her children—her children who she was absolutely terrified to lose and who she held on too tightly to.
Her children.
Pedro's children.
Alma wasn't sure she would be able to live without them if something happened. Didn't want to know if she ever could get over something that horrible.
(Not when she still hadn't gotten over losing Pedro).
She didn't want to imagine her life without her sweet, responsible, sensible Julieta.
Didn't want to imagine her life without her fiery, impassioned, loud Pepa.
Didn't want to imagine her life without her and Pedro’s quirky, helpful, shy little Brunito.
She couldn't bear the thought of losing any of the triplets and so, she refused to even think of such a thing—just like she refused to let herself think of Pedro and the life they had, had all those years ago. When they were young and hopeful and still a they.
But no matter how hard Alma tried, she couldn't completely forget her and Pedro's families— because she saw them in her children every day.
------------------------------------------------------------
Her eldest, her precious Julieta, strongly reminded her of her own mother, Alba.
Her madre had been a strong woman, who knew what she wanted in life. Stern at times, playful at others. She was the head of the family, and Alma’s father liked it that way.
Alma sees the way Julieta acts with her siblings, always leading them, guiding them, sometimes scolding, but other times joining in on the fun. Julieta was never one to back down when she knew she was right.
She recognized her mother in how closely Julieta resembled her—especially after a long sleepless night when she was too tired to take her hair of it's messy braid before having her coffee (before she had lopped it all off in frustration one night).
But the moment where Alma saw her mother in Julieta the most was when she and her eldest had gotten in a fight over the Matriarch’s loud and vocal disapproval of Agustín Rojas Valdez.
“You can not control every single aspect of my life! I love him! And if you don’t accept that, then we’ll just leave!”
------------------------------------------------------------
Alma was four the last time she saw either of her mother's padres.
She didn't remember most of what had occurred.
In fact, all she remembered was that one moment the familia was having dinner and the next her mother was fighting with her mother.
“This is MY life and I refuse to let you control it any longer! Andre is a good man and I will not allow you to continue disrespecting him and our family by insinuating I made a mistake!” Alba had said, arms crossed, chin raised, and a glare in her eyes. “if you can't accept that, then we'll just leave!”
And so they did.
------------------------------------------------------------
Alma stared at her daughter.
Julieta stared right back at her, chin raised. Arms crossed. And a glare in her eyes.
Looking so much like her abuela hadthough she'd never know it—just forty years younger.
And maybe, Alma could have continued to argue. Could have risked it like her own grandmother had—but she didn't. Very aware of just how similar her daughter was to her own mother. “Very well.”
Ignoring Julieta's gobsmacked look, Alma turned on her heel and headed to her room. Hoping to shake the spirit of her mother out of her mind before dinner.
------------------------------------------------------------
Pepa, meanwhile, reminded her a lot of her sister-in-law, Alejandra.
Her younger brother, Raimi's, wife.
Alejandra was a wild woman, who participated in sword fighting and liked taxidermy. Her emotions could change on a dime, and she took everything so seriously.
Her family had a miracle of their own: The female Yees could shapeshift into beasts to protect themselves, and the shift was often tied to their emotional states.
Very much like Pepa’s weather powers.
“TOUCH MY HERMANO AGAIN AND I'LL FRY YOU!”
------------------------------------------------------------
“Touch my betrothed again—” Alejandra snarled, towering over two men who had been giving Raimi trouble in her red panda form.
Which wouldn't have been very intimidating if not for the fact she was taller than the homes in their village.
"ALEJANDRA, DON'T—"
“—and I'LL RIP YOU LIMB FROM LIMB!”
The men never bothered Alma's brother again and it was in that moment that Alma knew that no other woman would ever be good enough for her brother in her eyes.
------------------------------------------------------------
“JOSEFA ALEJANDRA INÉS MADRIGAL BOTERO, DON'T YOU DARE!”
And just like Alejandra, Pepa didn't listen to Alma either.
------------------------------------------------------------
Her little Bruno reminded her of both hers, and Pedro’s, fathers.
Her father, Andre, was a shy but playful man. He was a local actor, which Bruno seemed to embrace wholeheartedly.
“My true gift is acting, I always liked to say.” Bruno had joked on numerous occasions before he inevitably put on a show for his sobrinos and their friends with his rats.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Ah, but my dear children, my true gift is acting!” Her father said with a smile on his face, winking— earning a squeal of laughter from a then, three year old, Raimi.
Alma still denied it to this day, but it had earned a snort from her too.
------------------------------------------------------------
Bruno resembled Pedro's father, Fernando, greatly physically. But that didn't mean that their personalities didn't lack similarities.
Like both Bruno and Andre, Ferndando was introverted and shy. He was an animal lover, and just generally goofy, from what Alma remembered of him.
He was also an anxious wreck a lot of the time, something that Bruno unfortunately inherited.
Along with the superstitions.
------------------------------------------------------------
The first time Fernando had met Alma, he'd knocked on wood three times—muttering under his breath—and had thrown salt over his shoulder.
Just barely missing her.
“We don't get a lot of guests.” Pedro had smiled sheepishly at her.
------------------------------------------------------------
Alma sighed, watching as Bruno threw salt over his shoulder—causing it to get in little Camilo’s hair.
Much to Pepa’s fury.
It seemed like Alma would never be able to stop seeing her fallen friends and family in her children or their children.
(Mirabel and Camilo were so much like Pedro —).
It was as if she was being haunted by them….
