Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song
This is Wyclef, Refugee Camp (L-Boogie up in here) Praswell (Praswell up in here, haha) Lil' Base sittin' up here on the bass (Refugees up in here) While I'm on this, I got my girl L (ah, ah) One time (one time), one time (one time) Ayo, L, you know you got the lyrics
I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style And so I came to see him, and listen for a while And there he was, this young boy, stranger to my eyes
Strumming my pain with his fingers (one time, one time) Singing my life with his words (two times, two times) Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song
I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd I felt he'd found my letters and read each one out loud I prayed that he would finish, but he just kept right on
Strumming my pain with his fingers (one time, one time) Singing my life with his words (two times, two times) Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words Killing me softly with his song
Yo, L-Boog, take me to the bridge
Whoa Woah-oah-ah-ah-ah uh, uh La-la-la, la, la, la Whoa, la Whoa, la (ha, ha, ha, ha) La-ah-ah-ah-ah
Strumming my pain with his fingers (yes, he was singing my life) Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me softly with his song Telling my whole life with his words (whole life, with his words) Killing me softly with his song
Yo, put your hands together for L-Boogie (strumming my pain) From the Refugee Camp (yeah, yeah) (Singing my life) up in here, you know how we do, L-Boogie up in here Wyclef, Praswell, said L-Boogie up in here Wyclef up in here My man Lil' Base (Praswell up in here) Jerry one time T Rocks up in here, we got Warren up in here This is how we (Warren up, up in here, Outsiders up here) We got Fallon up in here, Mulaney, Mulaney's up in here (Refugee Camp, Refugee Camp, yeah)
Everybody got a breakin' point kid And they'll rat on you The family niggas will rat on you That's why we gotta be prepared to take whoever out we need to🎼🎼🎼

The 1994 Debut album of hip hop trio The Fugees. Virtually unprompted and yielded only one single in heavy rotation, this album is full of gems and is the perfect introduction to the sound that would sculpt their second album which became a huge hit. The production on this album was pretty fearless and “Vocab” as far as I know is the first purely acoustic hip hop track only acoustic guitar and rhymes. “Nappy Heads (Remix)” is the single that is most and possibly only remembered from this era which is a complete 180 from its original with a chill vibe that would come back on tracks like “Fugee-La” and the like. Notable tracks are “Some Seek Stardom” where Lauryn Hill flexes her rhyming and singing combos handling all the vocals herself on this one (note that at this point Lauryn was a familiar face and voice having been apart of Sister Act 2 a year prior to this release , random fun fact). “Recharge” is a high powered track with all three emcees flexing their skills with high energy and is a personal favorite. Also the original of “Nappy Heads”. The whole album is pretty dope but don’t come expecting anything to sound like “killing me softly” lol it’s a different album but you can hear the building blocks of a group that came to change shit. Ranting but yea!

Note
In Going No Place, the line "I shot John Wayne like Praswell" was that a barb aimed at Jonwayne the rapper? I don't really listen to either but he seems like a weird guy to lump in with Mac Miller.
how they rap gives me diarrhea

Pras Says Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean Turned Down $90M Fugees Reunion Offer
Pras reveals what could have been. If you were holding your breath for a Fugees reunion, we’ve got some bad news.

Bob Marley’s Child, Ky-Mani Marley Releases a Fire Dance Single
There’s something about Jamaican vocals that make me feel relaxed. Paired with an uptempo dance beat and inspiring lyrics, I feel like I’m on vacation while listening to Robbie Rivera & Ky-Mani Marley’s new single, All We Need Is Love. The song is meant to light up the dance floor and inspire love, a similar message brought to popularity by the singer’s father and music icon, Bob Marley.
Ky-Mani Marley is Bob Marley’s only son with Jamaican table tennis champion, Anita Belnavis. He is Bob’s second youngest child, right before Damian Marley. Ky’s first love wasn’t music, it was sports. At an early age, he competed in Soccer and Football, after moving to Miami from Jamaica when he was 9 years old. He turned to music shortly after layering tracks with his brothers Stephen, Julian and Damian in the studio.
Since then, he’s topped the British reggae charts, worked with Praswell from the Fugees, performed on television, and toured all over the world.
Robbie Rivera is a well-known house producer from Puerto Rico, ranked on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. He rose to fame after his single, Bang!, hit the #1 spot in the UK dance charts in 2000. The song was heavily featured in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. From this, he was able to start his own label, Juicy Records. His first studio album was released off Ultra and Independence in France. From there, he’s been able to parlay his record label into a weekly radio show, Juicy Show, for XM Satellite Radio.
Robbie Rivera and Ky-Mani Marley teamed up together to create this new dance single, All We Need Is Love.
