@terralucie Coffee talk? Are you curious about the New Year? I don’t mean that type of curiosity that makes movie characters go and see what makes those weird noises in the cellar at night. More something like: enthusiastically curious? I think I am and so probably are you. I know how outlandish this sounds but my reasoning must be true because 1) it’s logical and 2) that sentence rhymes in French and it’s a well known fact that what rhymes is true đŸ‘©â€đŸŽ“ It’s logical because the opposite of curiosity is indifference. What’s going to happen in 2023 are our lives and if we were indifferent to our lives we could just as well go and sit on a cactus - an ancient organic cure for apathy. So, I invite you to look forward to moments of laughter, love and serenity in 2023 and wish you with all my heart that there may be more of them than you expected 😘 ———————————————— #coffeetalk #musings #practicalphilosophy #voeux #wishes #curiousity #cafeaulait #happy2023 #conservatory #belleepoque #allwhite #morninglight https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm7d3fPsS12/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Love isn’t a refusal to see flaws or mistakes; that’s Pollyannaism and it’s a form of anxiety-driven denial destined to end in disaster. Love is a sober embrace of harsh truths, a commitment to care and understand in the face of struggle. “Understanding someone’s suffering is the best gift you can give another person,” wrote Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh. “Understanding is love’s other name.” This holds true for loving ourselves just as much as it does for loving others. Yes, things are too often messy and scary and hard. Even still, we must face those realities if we want to love ourselves and others. Understanding and acceptance are essential to the art of love. As the psychologist Carl Rogers put it, “People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”

Suicide

 Marie, Fred, mes parents
 On imagine leurs questions
 Ils se sentent coupables
 On se sent toujours coupable
 Coupable d’oser vivre encore
 Enfantin. Trop, peut-ĂȘtre
”

6As Book: Preview 02 - Adventure
Tumblr media
Excerpt from The 6As  by Zachary S. Brooks (Dr. Z) - Adventure Let's put adventure into a formula. Action -------- Time Our wondering and wandering ancestors simply input action into time. In our individual lifetimes, it is the action put into time that creates Adventure. If you drive the same route to work every day over time you will experience a lower sense of Adventure as the details of the route fade into routine. If you vary your transportation modalities and walk, ride your bike, take ride shares, or use public transportation, then you will experience a higher sense of Adventure because your action over time will differ. Your choice of action (call it “x”) over the same time (call it “y”) help determine your Adventure. In the dictionary, Adventure as a noun is defined as an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity." As a verb, Adventure is defined as engaging in a hazardous and exciting activity, especially the exploration of unknown territory. And that's what makes the second "A" so powerful, it can be create by anyone at any time with a simple change of outlook. For any adventurer, often the most difficult moment of day is getting out of bed. What is also so powerful about the second "A" is that embedded in each Adventure is a problem waiting to be explored and possibly solved. The formula works similar to the first. Action -------- Problem If action is applied to a problem, then solving the original problem becomes more likely but so too does stumbling across a new discovery! The decision to act toward a goal creates Adventures of our choosing. The rewards for the majority of our Adventures is a greater sense of satisfaction. Adventure compresses time. At least, experiencing Adventure creates the impression of more time because more of your brain has to engage with the new experience compared to your brain engaging in a similar experience every day. Travel is usually what people associate with Adventure and often people return from travel refreshed because not only have they applied action to time but they have also applied action to solving problems both of which can be frustrating experiences during the moment, but add so much to our lives after the moment so we can return to our routine with a new perspective which itself is another form of adventure. About Dr. Z Zachary S. Brooks, PhD, or as his students call him, Dr. Z is an author, speaker, and podcaster. In his book, The 6As: a practical philosophy for living life with meaning and purpose, Zachary shares his secrets to life success.

Hourglass 54 Information about time tells the durations of events, and when they occur, and which events happen before which others, so time has a very significant role in the universe's organization. Nevertheless, despite 2,500 years of investigation into the nature of time, there are many unresolved issues. HourglassÂ ïżœïżœ measurement device. An hourglass, sandglass, sand timer, or sand clock is a device used to measure the intervals of time. Hourglass 54 Philosophy of space and time is the branch of philosophy concerned with the issues surrounding the ontology, epistemology, and character of space and time. During the Age of Enlightenment (17th and 18th Century), early modern philosophy began once again to consider questions of whether time is real and absolute or merely an abstract intellectual concept that humans use to sequence and compare events. In the 19th Century, philosophers began to question whether the present was really an instantaneous concept or a duration, and the conventionalists and phenomenologists all made their own contributions to the debate on time.

Masonry, or more properly Freemasonry, is America’s largest and oldest fraternity and one that continues to be an important part of many men’s personal lives and growth. Many years ago in England it was described as “a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.” It is a course of moral instruction using both allegories and symbols to teach its lessons. The legends and myths of the old stonecutters and Masons, many of them involved in building the great cathedrals of Europe, have been woven into an interesting and effective way to portray moral truths.

__________
It should be possible to file a complaint for abusive birth....
If childbirth is not an abuse of a non-consenting minor, and the worst thing that can be - incestuous pedophilia (I'm not telling you where they were crammed this poor kid) engulfed in scatology, and most of the time in meetings... Do you visualize? -, so what is it?!!...

6As Book: Preview 03 - Academics
Tumblr media
Excerpt from The 6As  by Zachary S. Brooks (Dr. Z) - Academics As you are reading this you are likely distracting yourself. You may have read that, in fact, we humans are not good at multitasking, but you work to disprove that science daily. If you are like me, you have two browsers open with at least 20 tabs. While you are reading you are quickly toggling between apps on your phone and/or your computer. Does this mean that the process of learning differs from previous generations? Yes and No. Yes. Blasiman, Larabee, and Fabry (2018) studied the effect of six distractions on learning (folding laundry, playing a computer video game, texting on a cell phone, engaging in conversation, watching a low-arousal video, and watching a high-arousal video). Students were asked to learn a task while distracted, then tested on what they learned. How do you think they performed compared to when not-distracted? They scored as low as 62% and as high as 87% on tests. Think about it. A brilliant learner, when distracted, can demonstrate only 62% of his or her ability when distracted. No. There have always been distractions to learning and the tonic for distractions? Concentration is repeatedly demonstrated to improve Academic performance. When it comes to learning in the age of distractions, the formula is simple. Reduce distractions and increase concentration. About Dr. Z Zachary S. Brooks, PhD, or as his students call him, Dr. Z is an author, speaker, and podcaster. In his book, The 6As: a practical philosophy for living life with meaning and purpose, Zachary shares his secrets to life success.

557 World Physics Year 2000
Tumblr media
I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies: 1. Anything that is in the world when you're born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. 2. Anything that's invented between when you're fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. 3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things. DOUGLAS ADAMS, The Salmon of Doubt
