according to brennan, there were so many funny and relevant texts in mice& murder that they decided to leave out, mainly bc it would distract from the show.

i know this unlikely happen for many reasons, but my dream is that dropout releases a “m&m rewatch” collection, where it’s exactly the same except there are a lot more texts shown and the clued texts aren’t censored.

#i know a lot of ppl tend to rewatch/reread mysteries to catch clues and foreshadowing #but committing 20hrs to rewatch of a show is a lot of commitment #so i feel if they added just this little bit of ‘behind the scenes’ content #ppl would be more likely to rewatch #and also it eliminates the original problem of being distracted from the plot bc rewatchers already KNOW the important bits #dimension 20 #mice and murder #i speak #d20 #dropout

The way fans on the st sub are almost all in agreement Nancy ending up with neither Jon nor Steve wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, and how they can even come up with a sleuth of reasons as to why, honestly pretty valid and fair reasons, but then are absolutely gobsmacked when fans merely speculate something along those lines for El is, quite something.

#thats my honest reaction 😐#to be fair ive only seen 20 minutes of the s1 finale bc my parents are watching it but. mmmmm kinda mid #like. the casting is definitely an improvement since the last time they tried a live action but it feels like the writing falls flat #or maybe im being harsh bc ive only heard negative criticism on it beforehand. but fr anytime u bring up the original its already #good and not just because its the original. so much fucking detail went into it to the point of someone noticing azula wielding mai's knive #to how well thought out irohs character is used as a way of uniting the cast especially as zukos foil #i heard that sokkas sexism was toned down and i have to agree that feels like a cheap move. like i get WHY they think it would be better #but its not about how that reflects on real world its about how it affects the story. sokka starts out as a misogynistic asshole because #it makes it that much more impactful when he changes. toning that down makes it flatter and makes his character development weak #and someone pointed out they didnt even make him wear the kyoshi warrior uniform and i know it feels like such a small detail but #come on man. they did that in the original because not only does it help him really walk in their shoes - wearing 'feminine' clothing and #makeup and having suki explain its significance but it also ties in with the shows theme of harmony and intersectionality #i was also disappointed when they had the fire sages explain how the water tribe draws power from the moon because in the original it was #IROH who explained it to aang and everyone else BECAUSE we as the audience is under the impression hes with the 'bad guys'#and it builds up to how he learned from the other nations which reconciles his past as a war general and his character overall #AND its an excellent starting point for the cast and audience to understand how the nations arent as closed off as you would think #plus you would think its only fire nation doing propaganda but they expanded on that with earth kingdom censorship and it WORKS #a lot of things in the live action also feel arbitrary like. they gave momo a near death experience for 5 minutes for no reason #im firmly on the stance of bringing back filler moments instead of putting major events right after each other so that u give your #audience a sense of time passing and to really absorb the story. but i think thats more like shock value than filler and yeah its a small #thing to gripe about but those things build up and its really annoying. the thing abt avatar filler moments is that however small #its at least meaningful. hell even the beach episode emphasizes how isolated zuko and his friends are as child soldiers #i also swore to never watch the first live action since it was that bad but i really liked the stylized tattoos they used for aang #anyway. those arejust my thoughts. im not gonna watch the rest because im a ride or die for the original aftr growing up and #rewatching it at least 20 times as a kid. but theres definitely room for improvement and i wish ppl wouldnt take it as 'better' just cuz #netflix is adapting it. i wouldve killed for them to just reanimate the entire avatar series and touch NOTHING ELSE no redub #no changes to the story. just reanimate the thing and leave the rest alone and youd make easy money just the same #ALSO its very jarring not hearing jack desena and dante basco voicing sokka and zuko cause their voices were the most recognizable to me #i get that its because its live action but im allowed to feel a little sad abt that. and uncle irohs accent was really soothing #yapping

kevin party is THE MOST underrated su episode. it’s comedically so. so good and gets put at the bottom of so many tier lists by people who don’t get it. kevin’s whole schtick is hilarious as hell like thinking steven is 7 and can 7 year olds even break up? and yes this normal pink dog this kid has look at how she’s living it up. the fact that everyone else in the party is clearly chill and having an okay time. kevin’s obsession with old people. just. the gags really do it for me for some reason

#steven universe #i decided to rewatch kevin party a while back on a whim #and was laughing SO HARD and thought wtf i don’t remember this episode being this good #lots of ppl dunk on it bc they don’t like steven and connie’s conflict #but i really like the dialogue exchange they have near the end!#and how once steven approaches her once and runs away #she immediately goes up to confront him #(where narratively i would expect a more stretched out back-and-forth)#which is so connie #also the fun fact where all the partygoers are just crewniverse members #but with glasses taken off because otherwise everyone would have glasses #is also hilarious #i do not do the humor of this episode justice by describing the jokes #because the facial expressions are also gold

im finally watching animatic battle, i wonder how many viewers get all of its references considering how popular of a show it is? i think you'd need to be in the osc for years to fully appreciate the jokes in it

#three of my friends work on it lol its the first time i heard my friends voice since late 2021 i think?#his voice is so DEEP now we used to voice call so much for years. if you pick up on it yeah its him but you wouldnt guess it at first #my only issue with the show is the amount of contestants and how fast paced everything is #maybe cuz i felt out of it and had a hard time processing it #but when comparing: what bfdi does is introduces contesnts overtime making it feel not like too much when s4 starts #and aib doesnt do that but its slow-paced and takes time to introduce each character in each episode #it feels very hard to process everything. i feel like id have to rewatch it a bunch to even remember anything about it #this is a show that benefits from coming out every few months #its not a bad show and i enjoy its concepts but really lacks in the pacing when binging. its just not the type of show id enjoy now #but i really appreciate what it does. animatic is a good character with concept and execution - hes what id wanted to see in four bfb #such a highlight of the show. hes unexpected and it WORKS if the other characters were more normal i think the contrast would be great #seems like theyre setting up the characters being poorly effected by animatic overtime id love to see it #object show characters usually arent fond of their hosts but here they have a REASON to dislike them. its a breathe of fresh air #i think the show has a lot of potential and with the ppl working on it im sure itll live up to it

thinking about the sonic 2 premiere i went to alone, at like 3pm (it was def early afternoon but not sure when) with just like 5 other people in the room (moms with kids) and how everyone left before the credits ended and i was sitting there Gripping the fuck out of the seat in front of me after the whole movie and then seeing post creds shadow i yelled (quietly) (sorry to the staff guy coming in to clean) it was the best movie experience ive ever had cant believe its been almost 2 years now

also the very next day i went to see it again with a friend to show him what the fuck i just saw and also make sure what i saw was actually real and not a daydream

#what i wish fnaf was like #rewatched the movie so many times most of it doesnt feel good anymore and i cringe hard at some spots #but it has amazing scenes still. ofc all the stob ones (which killed me in the cinema) but also the super sonic ending ate #the tails scenes were kinda ass and the humans are so so #i liked the wedding scene when i first saw it but i do agree it was too long. it should be about furry aliens and not random ppl #unless its stone #also toms actor i forgot your name but youre not all that im sorry. the gag reel of him dancing i could do without it thx #i hope jim comes back one last time and they work with shadow somehow but there should also be a big threat #thinking about chaos would be cool. im also expecting chaos emeralds collecting #if its meant to be a trilogy and then a wrap up they need to go out with a bang #buut i feel like they could do more mini series after like knuckles (if it ever sees the light of day) or make spinoffs #a shadow spinoff of him looking for his past would literally write itself honestly #they could do less of the humans and not focus on robotnik and stuff maybe even do some portal traveling off earth

so im like 2 volumes behind but ive seen ppl say that ruby rose should have been a faunus, a wolf faunus specifically, but really i think oscar should have been like a dog faunus too.

along with more skin tone variation i think there should have been more "main" faunus characters so blake isnt mostly by herself. if i just look at the 1st three volumes, id pick nora also being a faunus (a goat faunus specifically cause thor had some goats pull his chariot) thatd be cute.

so really...ruby, blake, nora, and later oscar. if i had to pick without changing too much.

My unpopular opinion abt the new Castlevania series ig is that I just don't have any care or sympathy for these little church goons that they were trying to humanize this time around... Like Olrox revenge kill go off, I watch u kill that boys mom minute 1 but I'm still in ur corner bbygirl! I see ur thru line.

But then his little shitty church bf sanctioning and standing by all the actions of the church and also we don't talk about the homophobia he's supporting while also being gay and also sleeping w a man his church would have (and did) sanctioned the genocide of several times over... I'm supposed to think the way he shut Olrox down was anything worth feeling bad for, I just rolled my eyes at his self righteousness. Walk away from that man, Olrox!! We saw where this manic Christian love leads, and it's what ur Abbott did (who I also don't give 1 fuck about him or his white xtian guilt especially after That LOL)

I guess I can tentatively respect that the church guard's storyline is gonna potentially be about deprogramming him, but I hate that they seemed to be posing him as correct in accusing Olrox of having no soul, when we as the viewer know it was an act of love that he didn't think he was capable anymore, after what was done to him at the hands of ppl that the church guard. To me all i felt was the heartache from his POV so common in these communities where u thought you have a Good Christian that saw you, but he still sees you as the monolith of his imaginary enemy the second push comes to shove, even though your actions have shown again and again that there's nuance to be had

#the only whites that gave gotten a pass from me is baby belmont and the speaker mom #who's daughter I'm sure will mature i want to like her but she got shackled into a plot w the abott #which means we have to spend a lot of time on his white man pain about how he had the power to do so many terriblw things and chose to do i #anyway just wanted to get this off my chest i couldn't watch it fast enough and don't remember the guards name #and didn't look it up bc i don't want someone looking for him and starting a fight w me #just sucks bc i love Olrox so much and a lot of his fan content is him w this man i can't stomach tbh #i hoped he would be different i hope he can change or that Olrox finds someone else #text posts #i don't want to get into it too much more i have to rewatch this show bc baby belmont and Annette are my kids and Edouard is so special 2 m #bls im not a hater so if u like the guard i don't care #i just have a lot less interest in these types of threads ik some ppl who have been victims of the church find them cathartic #but i often find the storyline too much in the business of comforting the oppressor being represented and find them tedious #raised in American South where a lot of the cultures being examined exist and have flavored it #particularly this time period being looked at w plantation slavery plus French and native relations being v highlighted in my region #ugh anyway let me not get started x2 plus i don't care who's side drolta is on #she's bad and unjustified just insane and likes murder and looks very hot while she does it the end #(i love her every show putting black girls in it take note of the way they treated her hair so many styles 🥺💕)

one in a million when i watch smthing in the horror genre and don't end up disappointed to/and/or pissed off about it so like "also yeah i liked it. ooo" is like relative to that an off the charts rave review of media of the millennium. also i did think about mh a lot along the way so would recommend its affect/effect if you like mh's horror too
