Kind of insane that Hasbro hasn’t given ANYTHING to a season from the Disney, Neo Saban, or Hasbro eras. Except Hyperforce. Which wasn’t a traditional season. And the only post Zordon stuff we’ve gotten is one time force book and like. Three In Space books (I’m counting Psycho Path as In Space because I don’t remember anyone from LG showing up)

The hierarchy has definitely been MMPR > In Space > Other (OCs or Hyperforce....which are basically glorified OCs, so.....) > Time Force; which I guess isn't totally shocking, but like the toyline, it's weird that they clearly know how popular In Space and Time Force are but never really capitalize on RPM's equal popularity. (Dino Thunder is also super popular but I wonder if they avoid that due to the can of worms that is Tommy's role in it.)

Though tbh the real tragedy was how Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury have been left behind by the comics. When BOOM first got the license they threw a bone to the seasons airing alongside their releases: Ninja Steel got its own annual story for Shattered Grid, Beast Morphers got some covers and cameos (even a special "first appearance" in Shattered Grid) - but Dino Fury has gotten one crowd shot appearance in Darkest Hour and Cosmic Fury nothing at all. And I have no clue why. You're not even going to make them one of the teams picked up by Hyperforce in 118??? Where's my Fern content!!!!!!!

I know it took awhile but… tadaah!

New 20k words of content just dropped, bringing the game to 50k! Each playthrough is around 22k~ words with mini paths to explore.

I tried to edit this as much as I could, but with the new amount of branches I'm starting to get cross-eyed after re-reading the game so many times. As always feedback is always welcome! I'm having some trouble in linking scenes together with code. So if there are parts where it seems weirdly formatted or abrupt, please let me know in the forums.

IMPORTANT:

Please use a new save! A lot has changed since the last update so it's most likely broken. The game passed both the quick and random test, so if you encounter any errors please make sure you didn't use an old save before reporting game breaking bugs.

As promised by the poll, here is the entire first part of the prologue (first six pages) for Soul of Stardust! This will be pinned. Minor warning for ectoplasm (Danny is bleeding).

The change in style was mostly from the shift of Autodesk Sketchbook (first two pages) to Clip Studio Paint in March (last four pages). Also give a big thanks to @lonleyghostpostsart for coloring page 3! You did amazing and I’m happy to be able to show it here with the other pages finally! It looks great!

Sooooo about that delay…to be frank, my motivation has dipped in May since a lot of stuff happened that more or less drained me. And usually it negatively impacted my health in some way, or resulted in losing energy. But I am getting back into my old mojo long enough to also hopefully get an attack in tomorrow for Art Fight!!

As for the story, the plan after this is mainly to finish my notes for the story and basically make sure it’s all fleshed out before I plan out the second part of the prologue. I still have at least some of summer left to do that, and hopefully update more character designs AND concept art! But hoping to do this at my own pace and not feel pressured, haha! I have my own life ahead of me to write and draw it out.

Also, this comic takes place after D-Stabilized, but PP never happened. Meaning AGIT likely wouldn’t happen either. Just a heads up.

The 30M Download Campaign has finally come, and Oberon is the representative for it. (Really? A third Avalon Servant? 😒)

Here's the rundown, besides the usual rewards:

A x3 Super/Great Success when leveling up Servants, all Dailies are open and their AP costs 1/3.

Some more event CEs have been made available in Da Vinci's shop, along with some more event Command Codes.

The amount of Pure Prisms are doubled from completing Part 1, Part 1.5/EoR, Part 2, and OC.

Along with that, there's a way to refill PP stock, with a special kind of ticket (right now it's only restricted to three, so choose wisely).

Two more Mystic Codes (Anniversary Blonde and Sōya High School Uniform) will be free to get after clearing the LB prologue* (currently unsure if it is the LB prologue).

Three more CEs, those featuring Kayneth, Sola-Ui, and Kirei. Their effects respectively are: self invincibility for 3 times and buff removal resistance by 10%/20%, gain 4%/5% NP per turn, Quick, Arts, and NP gain by 3%/5%, and self star weight up by 100%/200%, Quick, Arts, and Buster up by 8%/10%. (Color coordinated for easier reading)

The next free SSR ticket is here as well, this time including the story-locked SSRs. The permanent ones included this time are: Dioscuri, Tametomo, Vritra, Odysseus, Taigong Wang, Nemo, Kashin Koji, Galatea, and Nitocris Alter. If you were expecting Bhima or Marie Alter, sorry but the cut off is Koji.

The requirements to permanently add them is leveling up your chosen pick to level 60 and bring them up to Bond 5.

i want to thank you for your post from a few months ago about abandoning the idea that health is good. it's helped me process and unpack just how much the health framework has damaged me (and everyone; you could get multiple phds exploring how the concept of health categorizes and controls bodies!). and those ideas have extended beyond my personal life to my academic and professional writing and my interactions with loved ones - they've reached and impacted a lot of people.

i was a disabled child in a family of career athletes; the health paradigm was deeply engrained at an early age. now that i'm finally shaking those teachings, i've gotten a lot out of reanalyzing ideas i've always framed through a health lens. if it doesn't matter if i "eat healthily," since that's a meaningless concept, then how and why do i choose what i eat? why do i want to stretch regularly, if not because it's healthy and my doctors said it will improve my disability? how does my relationship with substance use change when health is taken out of the equation?

in these questions, i often find there's deeper and more satisfying reasons for my feelings and actions. this process reminds me of my experience with transness, in a way. reconsidering the concepts and assumptions underpinning a framework, deciding the whole framework is useless to you, and exploring what lies beyond it. thank you for opening such a freeing and fascinating door :-)

oh, woah, this absolutely made me cry, i truly can’t express how meaningful this is for me. (as you might know from following my blog lol) i’m homebound & only see two people in person unless i’m at the doctor, so this feeling of connection to other folks in my community is so deeply valuable, i really can’t thank you enough 💓💓

i definitely relate to the sense of rejecting health leading to a changed perspective on, like, everything in my life + prompting more intentional ways of engaging with my choices, routines, etc. following that theme of community, lineage, & ideas that ripple out, i’d love to take the time to mention just a few of the scholars, ancestors, comrades, & friends who have been life-changing for me in this area!

while there is a lot of transformative & vital work within disability studies, there’s still a lot of structural barriers against sick people’s contributions to formal theory + a lot of direct & indirect reinforcement of health as a good thing in the field. so i’ve found in many cases more resonant work in trans studies, mad studies, & postcolonial studies, by people affirming the pathology of their own identities & positions. just a few favorites of mine from within, across, & outside of these fields, in no particular order:

these were all immensely profound to me, but this last work, following Fanon, was such a complete & total frame shift for me that i feel the need to include some of it here (emphasis added):

This is precisely what Gordon argues is the value and insight of Fanon: he fully accepts the definition of himself as pathological as it is imposed by a world that knows itself through that imposition, rather than remaining in a reactive stance that insists on the (temporal, moral, etc.) heterogeneity between a self and an imago originating in culture. Though it may appear counterintuitive, or rather because it is counterintuitive, this acceptance or affirmation is active; it is a willing or willingness, in other words, to pay whatever social costs accrue to being black, to inhabiting blackness, to living a black social life under the shadow of social death.

This is not an accommodation to the dictates of the antiblack world. The affirmation of blackness, which is to say an affirmation of pathological being, is a refusal to distance oneself from blackness in a valorization of minor differences that bring one closer to health, to life, or to sociality.

[…] In a world structured by the twin axioms of white superiority and black inferiority, of white existence and black nonexistence, a world structured by a negative categorical imperative— “above all, don’t be black” (Gordon 1997: 63)—in this world, the zero degree of transformation is the turn toward blackness, a turn toward the shame, as it were, that “resides in the idea that ‘I am thought of as less than human’” (Nyong’o 2002: 389). In this we might create a transvaluation of pathology itself, something like an embrace of pathology without pathos.

To speak of black social life and black social death, black social life against black social death, black social life as black social death, black social life in black social death—all of this is to find oneself in the midst of an argument that is also a profound agreement, an agreement that takes shape in (between) meconnaissance and (dis)belief. Black optimism is not the negation of the negation that is afro-pessimism, just as black social life does not negate black social death by inhabiting it and vitalizing it. A living death is as much a death as it is a living.

HUGE STRAT DISCOVERED FOR EARLY FOBBYIYG FIGHT (CHAPTER 4 & CHAPTER 5 WITH NIIUE)

A bit of prologue:

On BlueSky, i was chatting with two users (@/chasm-connected & @/topazlight) about CogDis and they had brought up Fobbyiyg and fighting him during Chapter 5 when Niiue stands in for Larice, I had mentioned I started recently playing Hard Mode with New Game XX (an addition which Magicant Edition adds to the game which allows you to play the game again with the option of whether or not to bring certain items/powers along with you, and i had brought effectively everything with me) and was willing to go up against Fobbyiyg WITH Niiue in the Party.

Of course, it wasnt until today that I had realized that "... Wait, Zarbol can use Reflect Sigma because it costs 125 PP... well no matter, i just need the AA Batter- Oh wait, you only get that during Chapter Six... No matter, I'll just give Zarbol the Hero's Cap from the prior playthrough, that will reduce the cost by 50% AND allow him to be resistant to insanity fog! But... then that just leaves Col. Saturn (arguably the biggest threat to the well-being of everyone in the party) & Alinivar vulnerable to Insanity Fog... Shit... BUT WAIT, theres an item thats dropped by Elmada- Shit thats a Chapter 7 item I cant use that... Oh god its so Zarbover..... it cant be done... can it..?"

and then... as if a light breaking through the harsh uncaring void of hopelessness, and answer appeared before me on the Other Equipment page for the CogDis Wiki...

So during Chapter 1 (and ONLY Chapter 1, afterwards it vanishes), there is an enemy you can wind up encountering while trudging through the swamps of Old Sataene referred to as the Semi-Invincible Monster, the reason why its so important is because it drops a very peculiar item called the Braggart's Coin, now on the surface, this coin may not seem like much and just looks like a simple decent gag item that has zero sale value, but if you were to look at the Other Equipment Page on the wiki AND/OR go into the Game Data itself through RPG Maker 2003 (datamine) you can see the Braggert's Coin true nature.

That being, it has the ability to 100% PREVENT: Instant KO, Insane, Numb, Poison, Sleep, Wrapped, Berserk, Nauseous, AND Diamondized.

This actually changes EVERYTHING about the fight, I now have my answer, and i just so happened to accidentally have collected TWO Braggart's Coins during Chapter 1 on New Game XX... which means its NOT Zarbover. Now, as to the potential game plan:

THE GAME PLAN IF NOT PLAYING MAGICANT EDITION/NEW GAME XX WITH PSI

Get 3-4 Braggart Coins and hope you are a good enough of a level by accident during Chapter 5 (recommended level on the wiki is Level 50) and hope you can survive, it is highly likely that you will not in your current state.

GAME PLAN FOR THOSE WHO ARE PLAYING MAGICANT EDITION & NEW GAME XX WITH PSI + EQUIPMENT KEPT

Alinivar - Equipped with whatever item currently accessible/was available to them in the last playthrough but with Braggart's Coin equipped.

Col. Saturn - Ditto.

Larice (should you do this WAY earlier/without Niiue) - Ditto.

Zarbol - Ditto EXCEPT give him the Hero's Cap (give Alinivar some other head equipment like the Ninja's Headband or anything thats good really). It will reduce the cost of Reflect Sigma and allow him to be immune to Insanity Fog.

Niiue - If you did not get more than 2 Braggart's Coins, he will be your salvation for covering everyone's metaphorical behinds as he is equipped with the Red Cap/Hero's Cap, providing him with immunity towards Insanity Fog.

Should you have kept all the PSI Abilities at your disposal, the most vital powers each of your party members will have are:

Alinivar - PSI Superhealing (Harmony is not kept, so this will have to do) + anything you've gotten with the Knowledge Stone.

Col. Saturn - PSI Bolster + Anything you've gotten with the Knowledge Stone.

Larice - Most if not all of their Abilities (granted should you do this WAY earlier) + Anything Gained with Knowledge Stone

Zarbol - PSI Reflect Sigma + PSI Replenish (READ UPDATE)

Niiue - The creachur... Uh... oddly enough he keeps Sing during New Game-XX, but I am unsure about his other powers, should have probably looked at him more about that. Either way, since he has a couple of other PSI Moves, he's a big help by acting as a secondary healer in case of emergency

Also, more likely than not, since you dont have access to certain other PSI Moves, you will probably need a LOT of good recovery items available during those chapters, if you are on Hard Mode, i think enemies drop a whole lot more money? Also you wont be spending all too much since you have your prior equipment on hand.

As to whether or not it is truly possible to win against Fobbyiyg at such a point is unknowable to me, but at some point i will eventually come back to this post and give an update, along with a video mayhaps.

Anyhoot, now to resume progress.

UPDATE (as of 12/24/2024 5 PM): ABOUT ZARBOL...

So, Otherhand & Co. (also Magicant Devs as well too) never considered what could possibly happen if Zarbol had the Hero's Hat AND PSI Replenish... because uh... oh man, its better than his Recharge

So, normally, whenever you use Replenish its meant to reduce Zarbol's PP by 40 in exchange to replenish a party member's PP. However, if you have Hero's Hat equipped, it winds up reducing it to a cost of 20 PP, which means it can act as a self-replenish if used in moderation, and thats not all...

It's even better DURING combat if you use it on yourself and are at low PP for Zarbol (i got 100 PP back).

My next sageuk rewatch after TPM is probably going to be The Legend - another drama in the running for my favorite sageuk of all time.

Despite the shippy vid (and I do adore DD and Sujini - the intellectual underdog prince and his best bro the alcoholic archer), this drama is not romance-centric. It’s a glorious fantasy epic centering on a fight for throne but also prophecies, battles and supernatural forces meddling in the fate of mankind.

It’s smart, impeccably acted, gorgeous and just a perfection. DD’s quiet, soft-spoken royal (who may or may not be the prophesied savior) hits my competency kink dead center. It has a ton of amazing characters (including some complex ladies), tragic villains and just so much amazingness.

It was a huge hit when it came out but it was in 2007 so I bet most people around haven’t watched it. You should totally join me.

PS the first ep which is very fantasy prologue of 1000 years ago is cheesy as hell but the rest of it is not, promise.

PPS this was the last drama Bae Yong Joon ever made before he retired on his piles of money but what a way to go out. If you weren’t around for the mania btw, this man was HUGE! He was basically huger than all the Hallyu stars now put together and probably single-handedly kept the lights on for the companies for quite a few years. Wish he’d come back but he never will.

The One That Got Away

In my early years on tumblr, there used to be a lot of contests by Artists and Writers to promote their blogs. One such that I won was a custom written one-shot. And as what you've described above (me acting in a play by Shakespeare, opposite Benedict) has been a long desired dream, that's what the Author created for me. BC & I performing together in The Taming of the Shrew. Dust to Dust is a fic filled with angst & mutual but unfulfillable longing!😁Please check it out; it's a very quick, wonderful read.

But it gets even better...

I loved this story so much that my mind kept going, I need more...there has to be more to the story. And I began to write. Bits and pieces of Benedict & Virgilia (Vicki) interacting. Pining. Confessing forbidden feelings. A kickass prologue. Until I finally had to broach the topic with the Author--who had felt a pull to continue the story as well

So, she asked for samples of what I'd written, and once satisfied with how I envisioned the story playing out, she gave me her blessing. The One That Got Away is one of my dearest WIPs, and though it's been ages since I've updated, I know exactly how the rest of the story goes (including lots of angst, a forbidden tryst or two, lovers separated by an ocean wide, reconciliation and a happy ending). I even wrote an epilogue already, for a bestie of mine who initially struck up our friendship because she loved the story so much.

Gotta say, it makes me really happy to talk about it, so I must thank you heartily!🥰 I miss those inspired days of writing. So impassioned to get the words on the page that I even wrote one pivitol chapter in a law office where I had to give a deposition about an accident I witnessed at work!

I hope with all my heart that a few new Readers will check it out from seeing this post, and maybe even give it some love. I know many of us refer to something we've written as some of our best stuff--but this is no cliche; I really think it is.

Oh, and your second suggestion...Stephen as a Theatre Professor? Absolutely worth adding to my list of things I'd love to write if I ever get my mojo back for real.

Been four years since I got into writing fanfiction for the first time. April 1st, 2020 in the midst of depression from lockdown was a day. I began writing my uncharted 3 fix it prologue and those next 2 or so weeks were a whirlwind. Began my post-Lost Legacy AU as well as an Uncharted 1: Drake’s Fortune AU.

Sometime during the week of April 13th-14th, I got tipped off to the great library that is AO3/Archive of my Own. Changed my life on the Internet forever and it’s been an experience since then (got my account up on April 20th aka 4/20). And I just wanna thank all of you near and far across my Discords, my comments, my subreddits in r/Fanfiction and others for all the lessons, support, and cheers/hugs during good times and bad.

Here’s to many more years of writing and reading fanfiction together! 🍻

Hi my loves!

I just submitted a few more medical school applications, so I'm exhausted but in a good mood! There's still a lot to write, but this is the cross i bear for being a bad bitch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

I'll be offline for a few hours before I hop back into working on Contra Spem Spiro. I wrote about 3000 words of the prologue last night and the end product is looking to be around 5K. We'll see what's tea once it's nearing completion. Once we get over that hurdle, I'll look at the mountain called Evercoding.

And I'll be answering more asks tonight (my favorite part of the day!!!)

I would love to help as someone that's been listening to yuurivoice for years however sadly i'm not good at explaing things like this. At this point i just know how to navigate his channel but struggle to explain how to for someone else.

Something i wanted to recommend tho is if you've only listened to the bittersweet compliations (i.e. chapter 1 and 2) there's also chapter 3 of bittersweet (which, i'm not sure what exactly you had in mind by angst e.t.c. but its definetly more dramatic and higher stakes than the previous chapters, Chapter 3 episode 7 makes me cry everytime i listen to it) that doesn't have a compilation yet and for that you could just check out the general bittersweet playlist with all the single videos https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLo3gUOtcfZqOtpnYoLvkMGgCIrbqsbQUX

I'm figuring out that there are a lot of au situations going on, which were throwing me at first. So like, lots of Alphonse meeting listener in different ways/situations or maybe different listeners depending on your take? I will get a grip on all of this eventually!!
