Rtc headcanons
Have I talked about my trans Ocean and Mischa headcanons recently because they are and you can’t change my mind
Nobody knows Ocean is trans because she started transitioning when she was little and her parents didn’t enroll her in school until she was like 8 and managed to convince them that no the school system was not going to brainwash her
The only people who know about her are Noel and Constance
Mischa does not hide the fact that he’s trans because he knows that nobody’s gonna like. Challenge him on that fact. What are you gonna do, tell the 6 foot dude who stole wine from the church that he’s not a guy? Nah man, you just say okay and move on
Ocean finds out Noel is going to sneak out of town to go to a pride parade and makes him take the entire choir because they all wanted to go to one but Noel is the only one who has a consistently available car and can drive good
Constance gets her hair dyed rainbow
Ocean decided to get a rainbow flag, the lesbian flag, and the trans flag but she can’t keep it at her house so she asks Noel to keep it
Mischa wears a shirt that’s just the trans flag with the words “god knew I’d be too powerful with a dick”
Ricky puts a bunch of pride stickers on his wheelchair
Penny steals a sign from a protester and hits the protester with it
Noel knows sign language because Ricky taught it to him
Ocean is autistic. That’s it that’s the headcanon
Penny use to do gymnastics when she was little but got kicked out after attempting to bite a child
Ricky loves mochi ice cream and learned how to make it when he was 11
Mischa knows how to bake
Whenever Father Marcus doesn’t show up for class Noel and Ricky decide to have lessons called “sign language for dummies”
It’s annoys Noel that Ocean is the one who is the best at it but like. What did he expect
Once Ricky’s parents can afford and AAC device he immediately makes it his life mission to learn how to speak as many languages as possible
Penny plays soccer and she is mvp almost every game
Ocean swears to hate most sports because they are “barbaric” except for soccer
She’s a huge soccer fan so she goes to all of Penny’s games
Mischa and Ricky go too and at every game at some point either Ocean or Ricky climb on Mischa’s shoulders
Noel loves to draw
Constance is actually on honor roll every year
If Ocean’s grades drop below a 95 she will cry
Mischa texts Talia whenever he takes a t-shot because hates needles and needs reassurance
When Mischa starts dating Noel Ocean gets so confused
Noel almost refuses to explain the idea of polyamory to her but Mischa thinks it’s funny to watch her head explode over things she doesn’t understand
They’re both very disappointed when she just goes “oh. okay” and then walks away
Noel and Talia are the best of friends
Penny can still do a bunch of gymnastics stuff she just doesn’t do it very often
Constance asks Ocean out first actually
Ocean spends like a full day avoiding her cause at first she things she’s joking then she freaks out because she’s had a crush on her for years then she thinks that Constance will be mad it took her so long to answer and not wanna date her anymore
Eventually Noel just locks the two of them in the choir room
Constance is also the one who asks Penny to join their relationship
Penny makes origami cats for Ricky
Ricky can pop a wheelie in his wheelchair
Skater boy Mischa and Penny
On the sidelines are Ocean and Noel going “be safe babe!” and “fuck it up Misch!!!” respectively
Ricky plays so many skating games

(@wingsofachampion) What are human mobility aids like? -Tropius
HI HI HI OKAY SO THIS IS ACTUALLY AN INTEREST OF MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!
okay okay i'm gonna be normal about this i am going to be soooo normal yeah no that's a lie i love this so much
so!!! first off we have canes. canes my absolute fucking beloved! you got wooden ones and metal ones, plus a smattering of funky materials, but it's mostly the first two. There are different types of handle, depending on what you use it for. Some people like decorative handles that are carved in the shape of pokemon! Here, I'll grab some fancy ones so you can see.
My first cane was a black aluminum folding cane, with a functional wooden grip somewhere in the derby range. It was adjustable for different heights, which is helpful because if you use mobility aids wrong, they can actually hurt you! It's designed specifically to alleviate the strain from certain areas of the body, and if it's not ergonomically sound, it will put unexpected strain on you.
If your cane is too short, it forces you to lean over, which throws your entire body alignment out of wack. If it's too tall, your elbow is forced to take on the extra strain, which is bad for it. Always get your cane properly fitted! You may need to adjust it if you're wearing shoes with any kind of heel.
Here's an example! This cane has a derby handle, is probably metal, and comes with a carrying case. I love the flowers on it! It's sort of a disabled community thing that a lot of us like to customize our mobility aids, because they're a part of us. When I dream, my cane is with me. Because I would feel naked without it, you know? It's part of me.
Another reason to customize your aids is to emphasize that your disability is permanent. You don't waste holographic stickers on something that you'll only be using for six months as you recover from an injury; it's a way of saying "I'm here and my condition is here to stay, and I'm making the most out of life." And I think that's extremely c-punk.
....i am realizing i'm running out of steam here. oops. i really really just love canes, but i promise there are other mobility aids!
There are forearm crutches! they require both hands, but they give more support than a cane, and on both sides! they're also arguably better than underarm crutches in the long term, but the trade off is that they take longer to use.
Sometimes, leg amputees will use these instead of a prosthetic! Prosthetics are cool and all, but they can chafe or put pressure on the stump, and sometimes they're just not worth it. A lot of amputees actually choose not to use a prosthetic because they manage just fine with the limbs they have, and that's fine!
Next category up is walkers and rollators, which admittedly I'm not as knowledgeable about? But I've seen people attach really cute quilted bags to theirs, and they're very good for long periods indoors.
Next up is wheelchairs-- oh gosh there is so much variation in wheelchairs. At the bottom tier is hospital wheelchairs, which are designed to be pushed by someone else, and then you've got self propelled chairs where the user pushes the wheels using their hands to move forward. and then there's electric wheelchairs, which are for people who don't have the physical strength/coordination/whatever to push themselves manually, and so they just steer!
There's a specific brand of sports made for people in wheelchairs! Like power soccer, or wheelchair basketball! Disabled people can be athletes, or just enjoy the fun of playing a sport for self improvement. There's even a guy I watch on Mewtube who does some pretty sick skateboarding tricks on his chair!
(Side note: I'm not usually a huge stickler for language? Like, I know people who have reclaimed the word cripple, and that's fine. I know people who say differently abled like it's a curse. However! Please note that "wheelchair user" is considered vastly preferable to "wheelchair bound." It's a mobility aid! it's freedom! It can be cool as hell!)
Anyways. Don't take my word as gospel, this is nowhere near comprehensive, but there you have it! my big old ramble on mobility aids! ehehehehehheh i love them so much, such a huge fan of technology invented to make people's lives easier. anyways ough i'm stimming so hard right now but also i am fresh out of spoons from this rant so gnight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OC intro - Akash Singh
Time to give my guy his turn to shine! Feel free to ask any questions about Akash!
Basics
Cis boy he/him
At the start of the series, Akash is 14
Akash has short, thick, and messy black hair that he tries his best to tame but cannot. He has dark brown eyes, brown skin, and is about 5’7.
I don't have a specific sexual/romantic orientation for for Akash.
Akash can fly pretty well and has decent control.
For all intents and purposes, Akash is human, he just has powers, and was born in India though does not remember it. He grew up in suburban Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Character/Personality
Akash is very friendly and social, though socially a bit awkward. He's super sweet and kind though worries a lot about how he's seen by others and the impressions that he makes. He goes out of his way to make sure he looks nice, and ends up being pretty self-conscious about things outside of his control.
Akash's interests include reading, music, and art, though that art is usually just a sketch, he's pretty good at it. He likes discussing books a lot and will also watch some TV with Robbie for fun. A lot of media consumption for him is more enjoyable if someone else is doing it with him. He also loves watching sports, especially baseball and soccer, and will make sure Robbie sits down with him for every game.
Akash's extra curriculars at school are art and choir. Akash will enjoy art more if when he gets to make or draw something he's excited about, but prefers choir whenever he has to make or draw something he isn't excited about.
Akash is usually very time-conscious, wearing a watch all the time, though he has been known to occasionally get distracted by something, which in turn causes him to freak out that he missed something. Alarms are quite common.
Other Notable Things
Since he cares about his appearance, Akash will normally wear khakis or nice jeans with button-down shirts that he cannot survive in if they're not tucked in.
Akash is paraplegic, and names all of his wheelchairs after Disney Princesses. When he first got to Alium and discovered he could fly, he at first got scared of the harassment he'd received in the past, so attempted to mask and "fit in," which just makes him more stressed out all the time.
The person Akash is closest to is Robbie. They met in preschool and have been inseparable ever since. Their relationship can best be described as queerplatonic or platonic soulmates.

OC Elias Cruz
This is my first drawing in years of Elias without his crow mask on. Also, I think I've forgotten how to draw his prosthetic legs. I need to look at my old drawings; maybe retool the design a bit.
Backstory/character summary under the cut
Elias wasn't very good at most things, but one thing he was quite skilled at was football (soccer). He took to the sport at a young age and quickly grew in skill, to the point that he was being offered sports scholarships to various universities before he'd even reached highschool.
Shortly after becoming a highschooler, he got into a car accident that injured both of his legs. His doctors told him he would eventually heal, but they also advised him to maybe not play football anymore, just in case. He ignored the advice and returned to playing football as soon as he was recovered enough to play again.
For several months, he played the sport at a high level with no issues. Then he began feeling an accute pain in his legs whenever he played. This lasted for several more months, the pain eventually becoming chronic and ever-present, slowly increasing in intensity over time. Around a year or so after the pain began, and nearly three years after his accident, he finally bit the bullet and met with doctors again to look at his legs.
The doctors asked some questions and did some tests, eventually determining that his legs had not completely recovered at the time he resumed playing sports. They'd been usable, yes, but putting so much physical strain on them while they were in such a state prevented them from fully recovering, and was in fact only injuring them further. And unfortunately, this has been going on for so long that the doctors weren't sure they'd be able to save his legs anymore, let alone fix them enough that he'd be able to keep playing football.
Indeed, despite their efforts, the doctors failed to save his legs, forcing him to quit the sport.
In the years that followed, he tried to pursue several other sports that would allow him to be competitive in crutches or a wheelchair, but none of them offered the same satisfaction or fulfilment that football gave him. He reluctantly gave up on all sports entirely.
And eventually, he found himself giving up in general. He coasted along, putting no effort into his studies or his health. He stopped leaving his house. He stopped bathing. He even started treating his family and former friends like trash to make himself feel better. He became a monster.
Then one day, in a moment of bleak clarity, he realized that he didn't want to live like this. And unfortunately, that realization did not lead into the decision to better himself. He did something much more permanent.
He purposefully overdosed on his pain medication and died a few hours later. He next awoke in the Dream with the power to numb the senses. He now uses that power to confront his fellow Dreamers, either easing their pains so they may carry on, numbing them so their second death may be painless.

Halloween Headcanons 2023: Mutant!Maneskin Au: Damiano David as Pyro
A/N: This is heavly inspired by the X-men saga with some of my original twists, so it will both be very similar but also different from the Marvel version. Click here to check out the other mooboards: Victoria, Ethan, Thomas.
-Born in Rome, his mother leaves him at a young age without any explanation beside a box with written “Open if something bad happens”. His father starts to drink and neglects him.
- Damiano always feels a sort of fire inside him, something that burns him from the inside and leaves him angry and tired. His only outlet is music, especially rock.
-He loves to play with a zippo he personalized with the colors of the Rome soccer team. Sometimes he swears that the fire seems to increase if he stares at it too much and every time he tries to touch it, he never seems to burn.
- “Why do you have a zippo if you don’t smoke” “ Fatte i cazzi tuoi”
- He manages to join a small band as a singer but this gets him the wrong attention from a local bully who thinks Damiano is flirting with his girlfriend.
- “Stay away from my girl or I’ll beat you to death” “You shouldn’t play with fire.”
- The other man’s cigarette sparks so violently that fire starts to wrap his sleeve. Damiano flees away before anyone can catch him.
-He rushes to his room and under his bed to pick up his mother's box, where he finds a small note “You’re a mutant, just like me. Call this number if you are in danger.”
- He dials the number and packs his things and starts walking through the streets of Rome. Quickly he sees his mother and an old man on a wheelchair who invite him to follow them. It takes a while for him to trust his mom again, he still feels betrayed and abandoned by her even when she explains to him that he had to leave him for his safety.
- Damiano’s power allows him to control but not to create fire. He always needs an external source of fire but he can shape it, increase and decrease intensity along with being immune to burns and he can sense any usable fire in his psionic vicinity.
- Controlling his power proves to be harder than he thought, sometimes the flames seem too big and other times they seem to ignore him. He spends most of his training in a fireproof room, along with all his other classmates with energy/ fire based powers.
- Hot headed isn’t even enough to describe his personality. He tends to pick up fights especially with the humans, often making his mom threaten to take his privilege to visit the city away from him.
-“Your anger is your biggest strength but also your biggest weakness. If you don't control it, it will control you” His mother often repeats him. “Maybe I wouldn't be so angry if you didn't leave me with dad!”
- Damino starts working in a music shop while his music career is on an hiatus. Quickly the place becomes quite known between mutants, so much that he comes up with a secret code to allow mutants to ask for help.
- “Really? Gasoline by Moonlight?” “What? It will be a great name for my future band!”
- Once his powers are stable enough, he gets to accompany his mother in his first mission : collect a runaway who was kicked out by his parents. He has just to provide a familiar face, a kid like him to trust, however the police get involved and Damiano reacts.
- His fire meets a hard surface and all the bullets fall to the ground. He and the new kid exchange looks, completely surprised by the other's power : fire and ice that instead of fighting are collaborating.
- “Ethan, right? This is Damiano, my son, we are here to take you to a safe place” His mom explained. “ I need to go back to take my drumsticks! They are all I have. ” Ethan panicked.
- “If you follow us, I'll buy you some more at the music store I work at, ci stai?” Ethan nodded and this was the first time Damiano and Ethan met.

@steeltraptrainer here! For the ask game, how about the Hug question?
Found family, huh? I guess in a way my pokemon team feels like family, but in terms of humans - I've talked about my brothers before, but we aren't actually related at all. We just grew up together and we see each other as siblings because of that. We fought like siblings, too, LOL. Man, I bet anything you'd be able to hear our screeching even without the hearing aides 😂
I also consider my power soccer team to be part of my found family, and I don't know if that's weird or not but it's true. Kind of like how you were there for Solaire as a fellow Deaf kid, my team was there for me as fellow disabled people and wheelchair users. I wouldn't trade what I have with them for anything in the world. They've helped with so much in dealing with being a disabled person, and figuring out how to live independently.

I'm glad you're feeling better :)
Power wheelchairs get their energy from batteries, and they run on electricity. It connects movements of the wheels to the movements of a controller that attaches to the armrest. Mine can do more than just roll around - it has a variety of movements that allow my seat to tilt, elevate, recline, adjust my footrest height, and even bring me to a standing position when I'm secured in place with a chest strap and a removable knee block. I couldn't begin to tell you more details about the engineering involved, I didn't major in that, but given it's such a compact piece of technology, I thought you might be interested!
Oh also I have a faster power chair with less functions that is lower to the ground and has high turning speed. I use that for playing power soccer, a sport, and it's batteries are massive enough that it's more efficient to have them visibly hanging out in the under-carriage than it is for them to be snug and concealed like with my usual wheelchair.
Since the topic of technology came up-- did you have power wheelchairs in Hyrule? I feel like it's safe to assume you know what they are, but if not, I have pictures and videos of mine!
(@cinderpaw11)
I don't think we had... power wheelchairs, but we do have wheelchairs back in Hyrule. Maybe I'll bring it up to Purah.
I'd like to see them actually! How do they work? What does their power come from?
oh your grammar's all neat and good again??
What? I missed having the composure to do this.
Are you feeling better?
I... I think so? I think the fact that Father asked me about technology just made me really happy.
That's good. That's definitely an improvement on his part.
Well, it-- yeah. I-- I guess.
Thank you, Father.
