tbh Iâm more intrigued by the idea of college-age Reader getting pregnant while unmarried still living in the manor and NO ONE has any idea who the father is (maybe she does, but sheâs withholding that for now or maybe heâs not in the picture?) and itâs the biggest freak out ever. that just seems so fucking wild and potentially hilarious to me. and nobody noticing sheâs pregnant until sheâs farther along? or them finding out randomly?? imagine:
damian: you look pregnant. what is wrong with you.
reader: i am pregnant though
the batfam: ????????!!!!!!!!!! and then she proposes that now that sheâs old enough and starting a new chapter in her life raising a baby and all she should just move out! (cue everyone disliked that meme)

A/N: Okay, I think I'm about to become a Pregnancy!Reader writer. Which, I'm not mad about. Kind think it would be fun, but I know the trope isn't for everyone. So, if itâs not your thing, Iâm sorry.
A/N: Some of this is based off of things from my own pregnancies.
A/N: Oh, no. Frick, I wanna make this a series now. Check the bottom, cause I have a plot idea for this and I want opinions on it. I spiraled, this was supposed to be a quick blurb. I got carried away. Gonna build up to the yandere shenanigans because Iâm turning into a writer with a million WIPs.
A/N: Tagging @skay-ali because I like their The Forgotten Daughter series.
Warnings: Fem!Reader, Very minor Yandere Themes (like barely there), minor NSFW, graphic descriptions of pregnancy and medical procedures, Vomiting.

You don't really remember that night it happened. But, it only happened once and after you swore you'd never drink again. The hangover after that night had been one of the worst of your short life.
In fact, the sticky feeling between your legs and bitter taste on your tongue had also added to your decision to swear of these college parties. Luckily, you have enough of your memory to remember that you and your partner from that night had both been willing even when wasted. Even if you couldn't remember their name. Or, their face.
It takes you a while to notice. One missed cycle wasn't anything to freak out about, and it was exam season. The stress had probably caused the nausea. It wasn't until you were heading down to breakfast one morning and smelled the burnt eggs in the kitchen that Stephanie had burnt that you realized something might be wrong.
You, of course, ignore it. It was just a fluke. Burnt eggs weren't appetizing to anyone. But, then you nearly faint walking through the perfume section after looking to restock your favorite bottle of scent.
The doctor you finally went to another week later had asked about your cycle and the last time you had been intimate with someone. That's when the reality of things started to set in. You hadn't even thought to do an at home test to check. Your doctor was kind though, saying they could just do a quick urine sample and blood test just to make sure. It might be something else.
The next few minutes felt like ages. But, when the Doctor came back to tell you the positive results you panicked. Not as in panicked as in you broke down, but you threw up a mask. You're good at doing that. You must get it from your father.
When she asks you if this is good news or bad news you can't help, but blurt that it's good. Great even. Which causes her to beam at you. Before you know it, you're being handed a complementary diaper bag with formula and tiny bottles while being given the rundown on your possible due date and future appointments. You nodded you're head along with the information, sliding the paper's into the diaper bag as she hands them to you.
But, then she turns to you with delight and tells you that the Ultra Sound tech has an opening and you're just far along enough they can do your first ultrasound. It'll only be a thirty minute wait.
After nodding along once more, you go back into the waiting room. Holding your new bag with white knuckles and falling into deep thought.
This is happening. But, how? Are you even fit to be a parent? You've hardly ever been loved. How are you going to love someone else? How are you going to do this? What will the family think? What will your few friends think? You don't even remember who their father is. This is impossible. You're not ready. You'll never be ready. That churning feeling is in your stomach again and you feel that single piece of toast you had for breakfast about to come back up.
The thirty minutes fly by with those thoughts in your head. They still swirl in your head as your go back into the ultrasound room.
It's dark, but the tech had few soft lights on in the room. Its actually kind of... cozy.
What's not cozy it the tech telling you that she's going to stick a wand up your bits so you could see the baby. Your eyes screwing shut at the cold invasive feeling.
But, when you open them, she turns the screen for you to see. It's almost amazing how fast the image appears on the screen.
And, their moving. Actually moving. You end up laughing at the sight, causing the screen to flicker and the little blob to move. When the nurse plays the heart beat you can feel yours stuttering in your chest.
Watching them bounce in there with each laugh, itâs easy for the next words to spill out of your mouth.
âOh, Iâm gonna love you.â
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
Every step after that feels remarkably less lonely. Itâs not just you anymore. You have someone who youâre going to love.
You donât bother telling the Family. Bruce would just lecture you on being reckless while the otherâs would judge you for it.
Honestly, you donât care if they did. This is your baby.
Funnily enough, for a house full of detectives and highly intelligent vigilantes no one actually notices. Not even Cassandra. Itâs a bit insulting how much they donât pay attention. But, your symptoms soon make it so you donât care.
The waves of exhaustion, the way everything smells strong and certain things make you want to gag. Heartburn that burns your throat. The subtle cravings that make you cry when you canât fulfill them. Thankfully you finished your exams because you were too tired to even move from your bed most mornings due to strange nightmares.
Eventually, someone does notice. And, itâs not anyone you would expect.
Of all things you cried over on the pantry floor, it had to be salt and vinegar chips. They hadnât been what you wanted, but it was too late to go get french fries and a smoothie at this hour in Gotham. And, you stuffed them down your throat with angry tears.
It was Stephanie of all people to find you. You gave her a sharp glare when she seemed to grow wide eyed. Normally you avoid her gaze, but you were quite pissed about having chips in your mouth and not fries. As her eyes grew wider, your nose wrinkled in further annoyance at her.
Just as youâre about to tell her off, she speaks.
âDo youâ um, want something else?â
Itâs pitiful how fast your snarl turns into a pleading pout.
âYes, please. I want fries. I want Jokerized fries so badly.â You practically blubber when she gives you a pointed nod towards the car garage.
It takes you a bit to get off the floor despite the fact that your bump is hardly noticeable, but Stephanie noticed the extremely subtle curve.
âHow far?â She asks hesitantly, looking from the bump to your face.
You also hesitant for a moment, looking up at her with tears on your cheeks and a serious look in your eyes. â14 Weeks.â
Her eyebrows raise and a wiry pout appears on her face. âDamn. Youâre smaller than I was at that time, so not fair.â
The slightly surprised that information gives you almost makes you pause. But, if you had you wouldâve probably toppled back down to the pantry floor.
âExplain on the way?â You ask, still a bit nervous. The two of you had never been close since you moved into the manor less than a handful of years back.
âSure.â She grins, leading the way.
As you both walk, she whispers. âDoes Bruce know?â
âDonât know. Donât care.â
âAh.â Stephanie managed to hide the winces from you.
When you two finally make into the car, youâre already feeling better about life. Youâre about to have your fries, and possibly a shake too. You didnât expect to have any company, but surprisingly itâs nice.
Stephanie drives, and get the fries to go. Munching on them as Stephanie drives you back to the manor. Her sharing her own pregnancy experience.
"Wait, so Tim dated you when you were pregnant with another dudes kid? Babe, forget being me being small, you got game."
"Damn right I do." She says smugly, stuffing her own fries in her mouth. "So, um, do you wanna talk about what happened with you?"
And, just like that your mood shifts.
"No."
"Oh- Oh! I'm sorr-" She starts up, and you can tell she's assuming the worst.
"Don't you start, Stephanie." You interrupt with a pointed glare. "I don't want to talk about it because it's none of y'all's business."
That makes her cough on her french fry. "Wait, wait, what do you mean? Don't you want help?"
"Nah, I got it." Comes your stubborn reply, glaring out the window as you dip your fry into the cheesecake milkshake.
"... You should tell Bruce." She suggest after a moment of awkward silence.
"What? So he can ignore his grandchild, too?" Your filter is none existent with your hormones all out of wack.
"He doesn't ignore you-"
"Oh, yes the fuck he does." Your firmly state. Growing a bit heated. "Y'all all figgin do."
Stephanie is about to roll her eyes, chalking your words to you just being unreasonable. But, then the thought starts to creep upon her with each passing building when she realizes this is the first time she's actually hung out with you. Ever.
"I'm sorry." She murmurs to you. The silence falling over you both as the cars continues back to the manor.
"... I'm only forgiving you because you bought my fries..."
"Really?! That's all I had to do?"
"What? I was desperate for this- Wait! Hang on. Stop the car. Stop the car-"
"What? Why?! Are you- OH! Fuck!"
You ended up regurgitating up all the fries you had just eaten. Right into your lap.
"Oooo, that's nasty." Stephanie says, cracking the windows.
"Is it bad that I still want to eat them?" You mumble to her, eyeing the remaining fries.
"Please, please, wait till we get back or I'm gonna hurl, too."
"Fine." Comes your reply. Your eyes drifting shut for a moment. "If you tell anyone I'm gonna tell Cassandra about your crush on her."
"How did you- Frick, you are more like Bruce then I realize." Her voice going from panic to begrudging realization.
"Now, that's offenseive."
"Oh, come on. You're kids gonna have some of Bruce's DNA too."
"Eww. Eww. Don't remind me."
The banter between you both coming back with ease.
When you make it back to the manor, parting ways for the night. You feel at ease. You may have made have finally made a new friend in all this and gained a pillar of support.
As you shower and finish off your fries, you can't help but think about the apartments you had been looking at. Wondering what Stephanie will thinking of your nursery ideas.
Down in the cave, Stephanie slowly walks down the steps. Realizing this might have just gotten complicated.
"You okay, Steph?â
âYeah. Yeah, Iâm okay.â

A/N: Soooooo, what if, and hear me out, wee add some baby daddy drama to this?
A/N: Please note, I write a Reader that DID NOT grow up with the Bat Family, which means we could have some really really juicy drama here. But, we could just keep the options limited to just close friends of the Bat family.
A/N: What do y'all think? Baby Daddy drama? One of the Bat Boys the Daddy? One of the other vigilantes? Should I do a Baby Daddy poll? I just feel like this is an opportunity.
A/N: Also, Stephanie was a teen mom in some comics from my research. Which I think adds to this and gives her a better chance of bonding with Reader until shit goes down.

Clawsome Dad
Summary: When Logan mistakenly thinks youâre pregnant (you're not), he gets way too excited about baby names and starts building a baby-proof bunker in the backyard.
Pairing           : Logan Howlett x Wife!Human-reader
Note              : fluff
It all started with Logan catching you looking at a baby onesie at the storeâonce. You didnât even touch the thing, just smiled at it for like, two seconds before moving on to the checkout. But that was enough for Logan. His superhuman reflexes missed nothing. You hadnât even gotten through the door before he had this weird look on his faceâhalf intense, half like he was about to tear through the drywall with his claws.
âBabe?â he asked, voice low, as if he were interrogating a witness. âIs there somethinâ you wanna tell me?â
You blinked at him, setting down the groceries. âUh⌠no?â
Logan stepped closer, sniffing the air around you. You rolled your eyes. This man and his feral senses. âYouâre sure? Nothinâ... different?â he pressed, like he was waiting for you to drop some major bombshell.
âIâm sure, Logan. Whatâs with the third degree? Did I do something?â you asked, confused.
Then it hit you. His eyes flickered to your stomach, and you nearly choked.
Oh hell no.
âWait, wait, wait,â you held up your hand, waving off the insanity that was clearly brewing in his head. âI am not pregnant.â
Logan frowned, not entirely convinced. âBut you were lookinâ at that baby crap in the storeââ
âI looked at a onesie for two seconds, Logan! It was cute, thatâs all! Doesnât mean Iâm knockinâ out kids tomorrow!â you laughed, but the man didnât seem amused.
âNo baby?â he repeated, brows knitting together like he wasnât entirely sure you knew how your own body worked.
âNO baby, Logan. Geez,â you reiterated, shaking your head, but the damage was already done.
Over the next couple of days, things got weird. He started acting real strangeâasking you about baby names out of nowhere while you were brushing your teeth.
âThoughts on âJames Jr.â?â he muttered casually, mid-toothbrush stroke.
You spat out toothpaste, staring at him through the mirror. âJames Jr.? Are you serious?â
Logan shrugged. âSeems practical. What, you donât like it?â
âIâLogan, we are not naming a non-existent kid right now. Whereâs this cominâ from?â You were barely containing your laughter. The man could take down an entire squad of bad guys without breaking a sweat, but the idea of potential parenthood had him spiraling into this dad mode that was both terrifying and hilarious.
The worst of it came when you caught him in the backyard, shirtless, sweat dripping, hammering away at something⌠with adamantium claws fully out. It was definitely not a normal Saturday activity, even for Logan.
âWhat the hell are you doing?â you asked, hands on your hips as you watched him drive metal sheets into the ground like a crazed man.
âBuildinâ a bunker,â he replied gruffly, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
âA what?â
âA baby-proof bunker. Ainât no kid of mine growinâ up in a death trap house,â Logan muttered, slamming another panel into place. âThis worldâs dangerous, and thatâs just the neighbors.â
You stared at him, dumbfounded. âYouâwhat? Baby-proof⌠Logan, we donât even have a baby.â
Logan stopped hammering for a second, looking at you like you were the one missing something here. âBut we might, right? Gotta be prepared.â
You slapped your forehead, trying not to lose it. âPrepared for what? An apocalypse where the baby needs a bunker to survive? Babe, seriously, thereâs no baby. You donât need to go full Rambo on the backyard.â
âIâm always prepared,â he grumbled, but there was a glint of uncertainty in his eyes. You could tell he wasnât ready to back down, though. Logan was never the type to half-ass anythingâespecially not something he deemed necessary.
By now, the neighbors had definitely noticed. Old Mrs. Jenkins from next door was peeking over the fence with a terrified expression. She whispered something about Logan being a âmadman,â which wasnât entirely untrue in this case.
You sighed, walking up to him and grabbing the hammer from his hand. âAlright, Mr. Clawhammer, weâre done here. Come inside before you scare the rest of the neighborhood.â
Logan hesitated, claws still out. âButââ
âNo buts, babe. Unless youâre ready to explain to Mrs. Jenkins why youâre preparing for baby Armageddon, youâre gonna stop now,â you said firmly, dragging him toward the house. âI swear, the last thing we need is for someone to call the cops on your baby-proofing bunker. Weâre not even pregnant!â
He let out a gruff noise, retracting his claws with a reluctant snikt. âYou sure âbout that?â he asked, still looking unconvinced as you pushed him through the door.
You smacked his arm lightly. âYes, Iâm sure. But if I ever do get pregnant, Iâm not raising a kid in a damn underground fortress like weâre in some post-apocalyptic wasteland, got it?â
Logan smirked, the edge of his grumpy attitude softening. âFine, no bunker. But I ainât changinâ my mind on James Jr.â
âUgh, youâre impossible.â
âAnd you love it,â he shot back with a cocky grin.

bestfriendsbrother!Sukuna x pregnant!reader one-shot
summary: you're excited to finally share with all your friends that your pregnant when the party is interrupted by your best friend's older brother, who you didn't invite, but who you did have unprotected sex with less than two months ago.
cw: reader is pregnant, Sukuna is a bad dude, possessive behavior, minor smut, still as usual nicer than it sounds because I can't help it.
**************
"I'm pregnant!"
Your news is met with a period of silence before your friends look at each other, uncertain as to how to react.
Nobara finally breaks the silence, an eyebrow raised. "And we feel...."
"We're happy about it," you say and your friends are then quick to congratulate you. You hear some sort of scuffling happening behind you and you turn around to see Yuuji unfolding a "We're having a Baby!" banner which makes Megumi nearly jump out of his chair.
"Holy shit, did you two-"
"No!"
"Ew, no!"
Yuuji frowns at you. "The 'ew' wasn't necessary."
You and Nobara scoff. "It was," you tell him. "And I say that with all my love."
"Okay, so if this idiot didn't knock you up-"
"Hey!"
"-then who did?"
You'd been expecting the question and had prepared for it. "It was just a one night stand, he's not really father material." Everyone looks like they want to ask more questions so you smile at them, genuinely happy they all look ready to commit a crime for you. "It's okay, I have a good job and this is something I've wanted for a long time. This baby will be really loved because it will have me and, I hope, all of you."
Your friends are quick to agree and there's some lighter questions about potential names, nurseries and Nobara and Todo are looking at her phone debating baby onesies, when the door to you and Yuuji's apartment opens and someone you had definitely not invited comes in.
"Sukuna! You're late, you missed the big news," Yuuji calls out as he walks over and claps his brother on the back. A few people call out greetings as Yuuji's older brother looks around the apartment. His eyes linger on you for a second, a smirk tugging up on his lip before he notices the sign hanging crooked over the kitchen doorway and he laughs without an ounce of humor.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me, you knocked someone up? You irresponsible piece of shit-"
"It's not his and don't kill him, you asshole," Megumi says from where he has now joined the onesies discussion and points over at you. "It's the other person who lives here."
Sukuna pauses from where he was about to murder his brother, to look back over at you. You wonder if his brain is doing the same cursed math that you had done when you were hyperventilating, holding a stick covered in your own pee, but before he could ask anything, Maki ended the silent stand off.
"And we're happy about it, so get happy you piece of shit."
With that, the party continues on, people breaking off until little groups and snacks being placed strategically throughout the apartment.
You're feeling thirsty, and a little exhausted from the burning stare that's been directed at you for the past hour when you excuse yourself from where Miwa and Mechamaru had been talking about their own future plans for children, who you're sure would be socially inept but gorgeous enough to make up for it, and made your way to the kitchen.
You were pulling out some water, no alcohol for you even though you really needed it, when you felt someone's presence behind you.
"So when were you going to tell me we were having a baby?"
"Never, because it's not yours," you answered firmly, slamming the door to the fridge for good measure. Sukuna leaned against the cabinet next to you but you'd known him long enough to see the pose for what it was. A ruse, a performance of casualness. The fingers on his hand tapped against his arm like he was playing the piano, one of the few tics he had that showed when he was feeling, well just feeling anything in general.
"Oh please, you're not fucking anyone else."
"You don't know that and we're not fucking, we fucked once. Singular, past tense."
He laughed and looked down at you, the same predatory look he'd had the night he'd helped you make this child.
"And once was all it took huh? Fucked you so good, you're going to have my baby," he says, voice mocking and he stands up to his full height which puts him over you. He takes the glass of water you're really regretting now, and places it on the counter opposite the two of you.
"It-it's not your baby," but you don't sound sure and he knows it and he presses up against you until your back is to the counter. Nowhere for you to run.
"It's mine, just like you're mine. I don't know who you think you're kidding with this denial of me but it's done now, sweetheart."
You go to answer him and Sukuna covers your mouth with his hand like the rude fuck he is and then leans down, his mouth next to your ear. You look around, worried someone might see you but the gap between the fridge and the counter conceals you both and the room next to you keeps getting louder and louder. The sun had set and there were maybe some lamps in the living room, but here in the kitchen it was dark.
"I let you have your space and your time, two months of it actually. I let you have your little moral crisis about fucking a criminal and it being the best dick you've ever had wah wah, but I was impatient before I knew you were having my baby, and now," he leans back so his eyes, and they're on fire his eyes, are level with yours. "I'm done waiting."
You tug on Sukuna's hand and he rolls his eyes before removing it from your mouth and places it on your hip which doesn't seem like a good trade-off but at least you can speak again.
"What does that even mean?" You ask him, your voice showing the incredulity you're feeling but if Sukuna had anything, it was audacity.
"I mean I'll give you a week to tell your friends you're having our baby and that we're getting married." He says it so seriously that you can't help but laugh which seems to be the wrong response when his other hand moves to your hip as well and squeezes, tight.
"We are not getting married, are you out of your mind?"
"Why not, we're already having a baby, are you going to deny me the ability to live with my own child."
"Still not your kid, and we can't get married Sukuna. We never even dated! We fucked one time, that doesn't mean we should just be together forever."
"We fucked for one night, it was more than one time-"
"Not the argument you think it is," you interrupt him but you still let him pick you up and place you on the counter. You sit there while he runs his hands up and down your thighs, the sounds of the party washing over the two of you as you stay in your little bubble.
"We'd be good together," he finally says. "Not just because I knocked you up on the first try." You hit him but he just smirks and moves his hands more purposefully on your legs. You let him pull them apart and step between them even though warning bells are going off in your head, telling you these are moves you'd seen before and they had led to you being in the predicament the two of you were debating in the first place.
"It's inevitable, the two of us. You can say you hate me, or that I'm not a good man, and that's true. But there's a reason why you've never stayed with any of those nice boys," he says and his hands slips up the skirt you're wearing to get at your bare thighs underneath. "Because you don't want a nice guy, you don't want a good man, you want me and I'm too selfish to let you keep torturing both of us by doing this pretending shit."
The fingers on his right hand press against your cunt through your panties while his other hand squeezes your thigh and he moans sinfully into the quiet air.
"God, I knew I didn't make up this warm, wet cunt. Been fucking my fist until I chafed the past two months just thinking about it."
You whimper as he moves your underwear aside and slips one finger up and down your slit, not touching your clit or going where you want him, but doing enough that you move against his hand.
"This does not mean that we should get married," you protest and he teases a finger against your opening, pulling it back when your hips tilt up in an attempt to get him where you want.
"Why not? I heard pregnant women get super horny, what are you going to do without me around to make sure this filthy pussy gets stuffed just the way she needs." He finally slips one finger in, his thumb moving to tease against your clit, just the way you like it and your head smacks back against the cabinet. He moves the hand that had been on your thigh up so he can cradle your head.
"I'm sure I could find someone willing to help me out," you say scoffing and his hand freezes which makes you whine a little and try to get him to move again but his legs limit your range of motion.
"You ever try to fuck someone else ever again and the coroner is going to have to get dental records to figure out who the dumb fuck with no fingers, no eyes and no cock is, you got it?"
He's not joking, you know he's not joking but it doesn't stop you from leaning forward until you finally get your lips on his. He hums into your kiss, cupping your cheek in his free hand while the other one goes back to opening you up. You're so wet that the kitchen fills with the sounds of his him finger fucking your cunt but you can't even find it in yourself to be embarrassed. He's not wrong that pregnancy has made you more sensitive, or maybe it's just you not having gotten laid since the two of you had slept together.
He's got three fingers in you when you come and he swallows your moans greedily with mouth while his fingers slow inside of you, curving just right to make you think you could probably come again soon, oversensitive or not.
Before you can test that out, he pulls away from you. He licks the fingers he pulled out of you clean and you you're reminded of how the last time he'd made you come twice just with his mouth.
"Where are you going?" you ask him, a little more breathless than you like.
"We are going home," he tells you, grabbing your hands and helping you down off the counter. Giving you a kiss on your forehead that you would tease him for if you were anyone else.
"Home?" you ask, confused because you are currently standing in your apartment unless his orgasms suddenly give one the power to teleport.
"Yeah, our home, not the shitty apartment you share with my brother. I mean we'll have to get somewhere bigger soon, for our baby."
For the first time since you found out you were pregnant, someone who was not you laid out their palm on your still just the same stomach. There was no change from how it always looked but Sukuna looked smug just the same and you felt like you were still missing a few things.
"What-"
"I mean I can fuck you here, I just thought your sensibilities and the fact your friends were all out there would make you uncomfortable."
Your post orgasm flush finally leaves you and you look up at him in panic. "Oh my god, do you think someone saw-"
"It's okay, Fushiguro kept them out I'm sure."
You don't want to know but ask anyway. "Why?"
"Because he walked in earlier and looked like he'd seen a ghost. Tell me, is the kid still a virgin? He's pretty but I can't imagine he has a lot of good options in your crowd."
When you leave to go to Sukuna's, the only people who don't look confused(or horrified in Yuuji's case) at your departure are Maki and Megumi.
If the confusion hadn't been cleared up by the time the baby came, the pink hair probably answered any follow up questions.
dealing with some writer's block and had this idea. didn't feel like writing a whole smut scene, my b but saving that energy for the next(?) neighborsukuna x singlemom one.
side note: Megumi is scarred for life, for sure. Yuuji gets over his horror once he's an uncle.

a baby?! | logan howlett
pairing: xmen!logan howlett x pregnant!reader
summary: some headcanons of logan with a pregnant partner.
notes: logan is so husband (not actually married) material đđđ i needed to write this for my man.
warnings: pregnancy kajsksa (it scares me to death), so much fluffy fluff. no proofread. no use of y/n but no oc neither.
Logan's protective nature would go into overdrive when you are pregnant. He'd be extra vigilant, watching your every move and refusing to let you out of his sight. "You ain't goin' nowhere, darlin'," he'd growl.
Logan would be constantly fussing over you, making sure you're eating right and taking care of yourself. He'd become a regular at the grocery store, stocking up on the necessary supplies for your pregnancy. "Can't have my baby going hungry," he'd say, tossing another loaf of bread into the cart.
Logan would be a pro at soothing you through the uncomfortable parts of pregnancy. He'd rub your back when you had cramps, hold your hair when you were sick, and provide as much comfort as he could. "It's gonna be okay," he'd murmur. "Just a few more months."
Logan would be eager to feel the baby kick and move inside your belly. He would place his hand on your stomach, feeling every little movement, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Hey there, little one," he'd whisper.
Logan would take you for late night walks in the gardens, his arm protectively around your waist, your steps slow and measured. He'd breathe in the night air, a rare peacefulness settling over him. "Can't wait to meet our kid," he'd say quietly, squeezing your hand.
Logan might be a bit nervous about being a father, but he would never let it show. He'd put on a brave front, masking his fears with his usual gruff exterior, but would secretly be reading every parenting book he can find.
As the due date got closer, Logan would become increasingly anxious. He'd be extra cautious, carrying you up and down the stairs and insisting that you rest as much as possible. "Can't have anything happen to you or the baby," he'd say, his eyes filled with worry.
Despite his tough exterior, Logan would be secretly excited about decorating the nursery. He'd take you to every baby shop in town, helping you pick out the perfect crib and the perfect color for the walls (he's the one putting everything together).
When the baby is finally born, Logan would be there, holding your hand, coaching you through the delivery. He'd whisper words of encouragement, trying to hide the tears that threatened to fall. "You're doing great, darlin'."
As soon as he lays eyes on his child, Logan's heart would instantly fill with love. He'd be torn between staring at the baby and checking on you, a range of emotions playing on his face.
Logan would be the ultimate doting father. He'd change diapers, give baths, and rock the baby to sleep. He'd sing lullabies and tell bedtime stories, his voice gruff but his words soft.
Logan would have a love/hate relationship with the baby's first word. When they said "Dada" for the first time, he'd puff up with pride, but then be secretly disappointed that it wasn't "Mama."
He would have a collection of silly nicknames for the baby, ranging from "Cub" to "Little One". He'd sometimes slip into Wolven mode and playfully growl at the baby, making them giggle.
Logan would be incredibly overprotective of the baby. Anytime someone tried to hold them, he'd hesitate and watch hawkishly. He wouldn't let anyone but his partner and the X-Men near the child, always on high alert for any potential threat. "Ain't nobody touchin' my kid, bub," he'd growl, eyes narrowed.
Logan would be the one to handle the late-night feedings and soothe the baby back to sleep. "Can't let your mama get too exhausted," he'd mutter as he rocked the baby in his arms.
Logan would be careful when the baby started walking and crawling, especially around the danger-prone X- Mansion. He'd constantly be on edge every time the baby would try to grab something sharp or crawl towards a dangerous area. "Watch yourself there, squirt," he'd say, scooping them up before they could get into trouble.
Logan would also be a very hands-on father. He'd want to teach the child everything he knows, from fighting to the wilderness. He'd take them camping and teach them how to survive in the wild. "Gotta be tough like your old man," he'd say.
Even though Logan would claim he wasn't the type to get attached to kids (LIAR), he'd secretly have a soft spot for the one you had created together.

Just This Once
Pairing: Kakashi x Female!Reader
Warnings: smut, breeding kink, he gets lost in the sauce frfr, situationship⌠ish?, this man wants to RUN, disorganised attachment style (primarily avoidant), penis in vagina sex, teasing, edging (accidental), unprotected sex, creampie
Word Count: 5.3k
Summary: Kakashi discovers that he has a breeding kink. It's kind of a spiritual experience.
Inspired by @rookie98writes's fic Leave It On
â
Kakashi isnât used to the strange sort of domesticity that comes with being in a... whatever this is. Itâs not quite a relationship. A situationship, maybe. Heâd say itâs something more than friends-with-benefits, but the two of you arenât really friends, either. Â
You come together every now and then. Thatâs all. Like two passing ships in the night.Â
So why is he standing in front of your stove, cooking dinner while you sort through the pile of unopened mail on your kitchen table? Why did he offer to water your plants while you were gone? Why does he want to do anything for you?Â
Kakashi knows what itâs like trying to play catch-up after some time away from homeâtwo months, in your case. Heâd knocked on your door a few minutes ago with the intention of returning your key, and he must have caught you right after you got back from the store if the two bags of groceries on your kitchen counter were any indication.Â
You looked so dead on your feet that Kakashi took over from there, unprompted. But now, as he stirs the pot of flavourful soup simmering away on the stove, his mind sees fit to wander. Â
What the hell is he doing? Â
Heâs getting too attached. Thatâs what heâs doing. Â
Itâs that time againâtime to cut and run, just as he always does when things start to become complicated. Kakashi makes a habit of ending any potential connection before it can even start, because he canât afford to lose anyone else. He canât get hurt if he never lets anyone in. Itâs easier that way.Â
âI need to schedule my injection,â you mutter to yourself as you read through one particular letter. Then you sigh and toss it back down onto the table, before you lean back in your chair and rub your tired eyes. âWe should probably get used to using condoms again until I can book an appointment.âÂ
Your birth control must be overdue, then. Â
âSure,â Kakashi answers, feigning unbothered. The two of you used condoms in the beginning, but after a particularly gruesome mission that nearly saw him home in a box, Kakashi stopped reaching for the bedside drawer, and you stopped asking him to. Â
He should have known then that he was getting too attached.Â
Still, itâs your body. Whatever you want. Heâll end things in the morning either way.Â
As Kakashi samples a bit of the soup heâs minding on the stove, pausing for a moment to add a bit more salt, it suddenly sinks in â really sinks in â what could happen if the two of you arenât careful. Â
He could get you pregnant.Â
A jolt of arousal shoots through him.
Kakashi doesnât want children, not now, not ever, which is why it doesnât make a lick of sense that such a thing would turn him on. He likes the idea of his seed taking root inside of you. He might even enjoy it, the imagery his mind conjuresâyou bent over for him, begging him to give you a baby, your pretty yukata hiked up around your waistâŚÂ Â
His clan crest embroidered on the back of it. Â
Kakashi swears.
You startle, looking over at him in alarm. âWhat happened? Are you okay?âÂ
âIâm fine,â he lies. Then he proceeds to play it off like he burned himself, but he isnât fine. No, that single thought, that single fantasy, scares the complete and utter shit out of himâbut it turns him on even more, and thatâs so much worse. Â
Heâs already too attached.Â
â
Kakashi doesnât do feelings. He has them, of course, much like any other person, but he doesnât let them show very often, and he certainly doesnât talk about them. He wonât say in so many words that he cares; instead, he shows you through his actions alone.Â
His knees brush the underside of your thighs as he settles between your legs, bracing himself with one hand beside your head. Â
What a vision you make, spread out for him like this. Â
Your lamp had blown when you went to turn it on, leaving the streetlights to illuminate your features in a sickly hue of yellow-green. It isnât romantic in the least, but he canât help thinking that youâve never looked more beautiful than in this momentâmaybe because itâs the last time heâll ever get to see you like this. Â
The sight of you, so needy and wanting, fills his chest with something bittersweet. Â
The tomoe of his sharingan spins lazily as he memorises the curves of your body, the muss of your hair, the rise and fall of your chest as you work to recover from your first orgasm of the night. His fingers are still tacky with your essence, and he smears the residual wetness over the head of his cock.
âYou should wear a condom,â comes your breathy whisper, but you make no move to stop him. Your eyes almost seem to glow as you peer up at him in the dark, worrying your lower lip between your teeth.Â
âMm. Do you want me to?âÂ
His question hangs heavy in the air. The only things Kakashi can hear are your soft breaths and the sound of his own steady heartbeat, which quickens with every silent second that passes. Â
You want to say no, he realises. Â
He wants you to say no.Â
âI like it better without,â you answer quietly, and the implication isnât lost on him. Not when you look up at him with those big doe eyes, like you donât know the risk.Â
Because there is a risk, and he knows it. Kakashi hasnât been able to stop thinking about it all nightâwicked thoughts, terrible thoughtsâthoughts of filling your fertile womb with his seed, thoughts of watching your belly grow round with his child, thoughts of seeing his clan sigil stamped between your shoulder blades like a mark of ownership.Â
His. Â
Against his better judgement, Kakashi does exactly what he shouldnât do. He agrees.
âJust this once.â Â
Just like he says every other timeâexcept every other time, there's never been a risk.
Your coy little smile prompts him to lower down onto an arm and settle more of his weight on you. Kakashi dips his head to kiss you indulgently, savouring the taste of you, the feel of you beneath him. He kisses you like he hopes to convey just how much he missed you while you were gone, like you might be able to taste the unspoken words that linger in his mouth.Â
He kisses you like he means itâand he does. Thatâs why he needs to go.Â
As his tongue twines with yours, Kakashi fills you in a slow, beautiful glide that wrenches a whimper from your throat. He knows he should go easy on you, but he relishes in the rapid flutter of your walls as you struggle to adjust to him after so much time apart. A surge of masculine pride washes over him, tinged with a hint of guilt for stretching you open like this. He isnât exactly small, after all, but you take him so well.Â
To ease any potential discomfort, he smooths his hand up the silky skin of your thigh in a soothing caress, before he trails gentle, placating kisses along your jawline. âIs this okay?â Kakashi asks, voice low, only to be rewarded with a particularly strong contraction that makes his toes curl.Â
âMore than okay,â you sigh.Â
As a test, he shifts his hips. When Kakashi hears your breath hitch, he knows that you can handle more. Â
He starts slow, rocking into you sensually, but he already knows that he isnât going to last. Itâs been just as long for him, and youâre tighter than youâve ever been. Â
âGod, Kakashi, you feel so good.â Â
So do you. Kakashi sucks a bruise on your neck in response, if only to muffle the sound of his own pleasure when your perfect cunt clenches around him again. Â
He needs to pace himself, or heâll finish too soonâbut then you ask him for more, and what else can he do but oblige you?
He speeds up, not overly so, just enough that both of you can hear the slick, sloppy sounds of your lovemaking. The smell of your arousal permeates the air, and heâs tempted to have another taste.Â
Later.Â
âYouâre so wet,â he murmurs into your ear. âDid you miss me that much?âÂ
Maybe heâs reassurance-seeking â just a little â but your answering whine tells him what he already knows.Â
Heâll miss this. Heâll miss you. Thatâs why he needs to go.Â
Kakashi doesn't want to think about that. He just wants to enjoy what little time with you he has left.
âStay with me,â you rasp. Youâve always been good at noticing when heâs stuck in his head, but right now, Kakashi canât help but wonder if youâve just read his thoughts. You see through him so easily. Itâs one of the things he likes about you.Â
âSorry,â he says with genuine apology, leaning in to capture your lips again. You let out a pleased hum into his mouth and lift your thighs up a little higherâan offering, one heâs more than happy to accept, even if he doesnât plan to reciprocate your vulnerability.
Itâs selfish, he knows.Â
The new angle does something to him, or maybe itâs because he's well aware that it would be even easier to fill you up this way. He reaches deeper like this, and the tilt of your hips would perfectly hold his cum in place, increasing the chances that itâll take.Â
He wants it to take.Â
Kakashi exhales a long, shaky breath. He shouldnât want that as much as he does. He shouldnât want it at all. Â
âClose?â Â
Yes, but heâs not going to tell you that. Kakashi pulls back to look at you, only to find you gazing up at him like heâs hung the moon. It makes his heart ache. Â
He stamps it down. âI could be,â he teases lightlyâa non-answer. âAre you?âÂ
When you open your mouth to respond, however, he snaps his hips forward suddenly to make you trip over your words. âIâshit,â you swear, and his eyes shine with silent laughter. Your own narrow playfully as you add, âI could be too, if you keep that up.â Â
âReally?âÂ
To pick on you a little, Kakashi withdraws from your tight heat more slowly than he has all night, agonisingly slowly, until only the head of him remains inside; and then he lingers there, purposely, until the stirrings of impatience start to take you over. Â
Itâs cute, the frown you give him, the pout he sees beginning to form. âDonât be mean,â you tell him sulkily.Â
His lips tug up at the corners, revealing a hint of prominent canine. âMaa, I didnât realise you were in a rush,â Kakashi drawls. âAnd here I wanted to take my time with you.â Â
Before you can read too much into what heâs just said, he slams home. Hard.
Your startled gasp brings on a flicker of self-satisfaction deep within. Kakashi relishes in the knowledge that only he can make you feel like thisâespecially when he starts to fuck you in earnest, prompting you to fling your arms around his shoulders. Â
âF-Fuck, Kakashi, oh my godââÂ
âThatâs it,â he encourages gently. âHold onto me.â
He likes the closeness of it, the intimacy.
You cling to him like your life depends on it, which brings about a funny feeling in his chest that he canât quite shakeâsomething warm and gooey and affectionate. Â
Kakashi stamps that down, too, and traces the line of your neck with his tongue, kissing and sucking at your sensitive skin until you shiver. Seeing your throat so littered with love bites unearths something within him, something primal that heâs always refused to name. He likes seeing the marks heâs left on you. He wants them to mean something.
He wants them to mean that youâre his.Â
Heâs too attached.Â
To distract himself from what he intends to do in the morning, Kakashi picks up the pace, flesh smacking against flesh as he drives his hips into yours, fast and rough, exactly how you want it. Â
It won't last long. Heâs too worked up.Â
Kakashi knows heâll come before you do if he continues like this, but when he tries to slow down, you dig your heels insistently into his ass.Â
âDonât stop, please donât stop, pleaseââÂ
âIâll have to pull out soon,â he says raggedly, even though the thought of finishing in you already has him ready to blow.
When Kakashi feels you lock your ankles behind him, he nearly does. Â
âI want it inside,â you whine, your breath fanning hot over the shell of his ear. Â
His thoughts screech to a halt. You want him to come inside you, knock you upâÂ
âFuck,â he curses, stopping abruptly, buried all the way to the hilt. His cock throbs wildly, desperate for release, forcing him to tightly grip the the sheets above your head in order to stave it off.Â
If he moves right now, heâs done for. Â
When you make a quiet, frustrated sound deep in your throat and wiggle your hips, Kakashi barely manages to hang on. He can feel that tell-tale flutter inside of you, the one that indicates exactly how close you are, but heâs closer. His breaths come out in short, sharp pants as he tries to hold himself together. Â
You finish first. Always.Â
âDonât be mean,â you say again, but you sound a little more petulant this time. Â
Kakashi lets out an exhausted sort of laugh and presses a wet smack of a kiss against your cheek, making you giggle. âYou like it when Iâm mean.â Â
âI like it when youâre nice,â you clap back, voice breathy.Â
Kakashi hums knowingly. âAll right. I can be nice.â Â
Then he pulls back just enough to pepper your face with kisses, and you squeal in delight, though it soon tapers off into a moan when he starts to trail them down your throat, each one more sensual than the last. He palms one of your breasts, gently squeezing, tweaking a nippleâÂ
âCome on,â you whine, digging your heels into his ass a second time.Â
No more teasing. You want him to be nice.
You inhale sharply when Kakashi picks back up where he left off, this time with quick, shallow thrusts that target your g-spot. He smooths his hand down your side, savouring the softness of your skin, then he slides it in between your bodies to rub your clit in just the way you likeâthe way he remembers you like, because heâs too fucking attached. And sure enough, when your hips buck from the added sensation, he knows that itâs working for you.Â
âIf youâIf you edge me again, I swear to godââÂ
Upon hearing the indignation in your voice, Kakashi laughs softly. âI wonât.âÂ
Then he remembers that he wonât have a chance to edge you again. Not after tonight.Â
His jaw tenses at the reminder.Â
âFuck, Iâm so close,â you gasp, holding onto him, needing him, which pulls him right back into the present. âCome with me. Please?âÂ
Kakashi bites back a groan and slides in deeper, readying to do what his body craves.Â
No. He canât come with you. Heâd have to finish inside in order for that to happen.Â
And just like that, heâs back to teetering on the edge. The filth his mind conjures nearly proves to be his undoingâa vivid image of your tight, wet cunt wringing out every drop of his cum until it takes, tying you to him, making you need him. Making you his. The threat of it simmers under his skin, but itâs starting to feel more like a guarantee.Â
Get her there, then pull out.Â
Kakashi repeats those words in his head like a mantra, over and over, like itâll ensure that he lasts, and it worksâat least until you start to move your hips in time with his thrusts. You meet him at the perfect angle, sucking him deep on every stroke, allowing him to slide just beyond your cervix and into that spot that sends your voice into a fever pitch.Â
A choked sob escapes you as you rake your nails down his back, leaving red lines in your wake. The sting of it only sends him higher, and he sinks his teeth into the junction of your neck and shoulder to prevent himself from blowing too soon.Â
âRight there, Kakashi, right fucking thereââÂ
Right there, so deep within you that if he came right nowâÂ
He groans when he imagines what would happen, and it all ends with his baby in your belly and his family crest on your back. It shouldnât turn him on as much as it does, yet he fucks into you with purpose, nowâhard, deep, powerful thrusts that knock your headboard into the wall.Â
Kakashi knows exactly what that purpose is. The primal part of his brain wonât let him forget it.Â
âYes, just like that, fuck me, make me fucking yoursââÂ
He kisses you to shut you up, because if he hears another syllable, heâs sure to fill you to the brim. Itâs not a gentle kiss, not now. He holds your head in place with a firm grip on your jaw, shoves his tongue into your mouth, and still, he recites his mantra.Â
Get her there, then pull out. Â
Get her there, then pull out. Â
Get her there, thenâ Â
You jerk your head away to gulp in a breath of fresh air, chest heaving from exertion, and Kakashiâs eyes sweep over your face for any sign of discomfort. What he finds is the opposite, and he drinks in the pleasured scrunch of your brows, the hazy flutter of your eyelids, the kiss-swollen state of your lips.Â
Watching your muscles tense and strain as you struggle to keep your eyes on his is one of the most intimate things heâs ever experienced. âCome inside me,â you beg, and he can hear the desperation there, see it written all over your pretty face. âI need it, I fucking need it, Kakashi, give me your cumââÂ
âIâll give it to you,â he chokes out. Anything for you. Anything you want.Â
The way your fingers wrench into his hair belies a hunger that matches his own as you drag him down for another kiss, messy and insistent, demanding that he make good on his promise to pump you full. He can feel the ripple of your inner walls as you come undone, feel the painfully tight squeeze of your legs around his waist, holding him there, ensuring that he stays; and never in his life has he felt so overwhelmed. Â
He canât pull out. Not now. Not when youâre so willing to milk him dry.Â
Kakashi kisses you with everything that he is as he shoves himself impossibly deep inside of you, acting solely on instinct to drown your cervix in hot, sticky spend. He lets out a sound of pure male satisfaction that you eagerly swallow down, your tongue massaging his in tune with every erratic jerk of his hips as he empties himself inside of you, painting your insides white.
It feels good. It feels right.Â
Heâs too attached.Â
He doesnât care.Â
As he comes down from his high, all Kakashi can think about is how fucking risky it is, what heâs just done, which only ruins him more when the post-orgasm clarity finally hits.Â
Why the hell did he do that? Â
What the hell did he do?
Your thighs tremble and shake, a sign that heâs done his job well, though he feels no pride in itâjust a growing sense of panic. Â
He needs to go. He needs to go right now. Not tomorrow. Now. He needs to get the hell out of here and never look back, right fucking now. Â
Then he hears your quiet sob, and his heart leaps into his throat. Kakashi jerks his head down to look at you, and when he sees the tears rolling down your cheeks, he actually does panic. Â
âDid IâShit,â he quickly pulls out to check on you, more attentive than heâs ever been, âDid I hurt you?âÂ
It wouldnât be the first time heâs accidentally hurt a woman during sex, but he really should have taken it easier on you. He probably went too deep, hit your cervix too hard.Â
âNo,â you sniffle. âIâm fine. I just... I really missed you.âÂ
Fuck. Donât say that. Youâll make him want to stay. Â
His eyes soften as they trail over your features â the colour of your irises, the slope of your nose, the curve of your lips â and he gently smooths your tears away with the backs of his fingers. âI didnât hurt you?âÂ
You shake your head and offer him a watery smile. âI also came really, really hard,â you add matter-of-factly, and he huffs out a relieved laugh. Itâs hormonal, then. âTheyâre happy tears, Kakashi. Calm down.âÂ
Teasing or not, someone telling him of all people to calm down is an otherworldly experience. The phrase lands strangely, and for the first time since he came to see you tonight, his thoughts quiet down to a dull background murmur.Â
Theyâre happy tears, you said.Â
Youâre happy with him.Â
Heâs happy with you, too. He doesnât want to go.Â
You frown, then, and lean up onto your elbows to look at him more closely. âWhatâs wrong?â Â
Kakashi canât be sure what you see in his expression to warrant that sort of question, but the fight finally leaves him. He sits back on his heels and drags a hand down his face, feeling defeated for a reason he canât explain. Â
âI was just...â Happy, for a moment. Happy to be with you. âWorried,â he finishes lamely. He canât look at you, not when he feels the heat of a blush creeping up his neck.Â
You laugh and gently cup the side of his face, turning him back towards you. âOkay. Well, Iâm fine,â you pat his cheek in playful reprimand, âbut I am leaking all over my clean sheets, and itâs your fault, so...â Â
That draws his attention. When Kakashi sees the creamy mess spilling out of you, his flaccid cock twitches with interest even after he remembers why his stomach is in knots. Â
âSorry,â he says hoarsely, transfixed by the sight.Â
He wants to do it again.
He shouldnât want to do it again. He feels fucking crazy for having done it once already, when the two of you arenât even in a relationship, let alone in any way prepared for a child. But again? A second time? Heâd have to be certifiably insane.Â
âItâs fine,â you reassure him, and Kakashi wonders how the hell you can possibly be taking it so in stride. He came a lot. Thereâs so much of it dripping out onto the sheets that itâs starting to create a small puddle under your ass, and thereâs even more inside of youâa lot more, judging by how hard he came.Â
It might take. It might seriously take, and you think itâs fine?Â
âYouâre doing it again,â you tell him, and his eyes snap back up to yours. Heâs in his head again, you mean. Then you chew your lip for a moment, hesitation evident, before you ask carefully, âYouâve been acting a little⌠off tonight. Is everything okay?â Â
Every single one of his instincts is telling him to run. Thatâs where this conversation always leads, but heâs not ready for it. Not yet. Maybe not ever.Â
He swallows the lump in his throat. âIâm fine.âÂ
When you frown at him, skeptical, Kakashi shifts uncomfortably under your gaze. Â
âOkay. I wonât pry. But, um, Iâm here. You know. If you ever need to talk.â You say it a little awkwardly, like you arenât sure if heâd be offended by the suggestion, and the worried crease between your brows only grows at whatever you see in his expression. âOr... Or not.âÂ
You laugh nervously, then, and shift away from him, only to wrinkle your nose when more of his cum oozes out of you. Â
Itâs cute. Youâre cute.Â
âYou said itâs fine. Why?â The question leaves him before he even thinks it through, but itâs too late, now. Â
âWhat?âÂ
This wasnât the first time heâs come inside of you, not by a long shot, but itâs certainly the riskiest. âI finished inside. Arenât you upset?âÂ
âWhat do you mean? You finish inside me all theââ Then you stop, and your brows shoot straight up onto your forehead. âWait, is this about my birth control?â Â
âWell, itâs overdue, isnât it?â Â
You stare at him for a prolonged moment, and he can almost see the gears turning in your head. Then your nostrils flare. âAre you kidding me? You thought my birth control was overdue, and you stillââ Scandalised, you slap him on the arm. âKakashi!âÂ
Oh. Well. It must not be overdue yet, then.Â
Of course you wouldnât let him come inside if there was a chance that you might conceive. Heâs a fucking idiot.Â
âThatâs so bad! What if you got me pregnant?âÂ
A lick of heat shoots up his spine upon hearing you give voice to whatâs been on his mind all night. Kakashi stares at you, wide eyed, and blushes all the way to the tips of his ears. Â
You study his face for a moment, before you purse your lips, looking a little troubled. Or pissed off. He canât really tell. âI mean... Did you want to get me pregnant?âÂ
âNo,â he rushes to say, his cheeks burning hot because yes, he did, but not for real. âNo. Not at all. Iâm sorry, I wasnât thinking, and...â Â
And how the hell is he supposed to explain himself? Neither of you are exactly vanilla, youâve explored a number of kinks together, but this is something else entirely. Then again, a breeding kink would make the most sense out of any, considering it stems from a biological urge to procreate.Â
But would you even believe him if he said he only gets off to the fantasy of it, and not the reality? Because if a woman ever said that to him, heâd get the hell out of dodge as fast as he could.Â
A sly smile tugs at your lips, then, a knowing smile, and Kakashi quickly averts his eyes to the window, embarrassed.Â
âYou like it, donât you?â you hum, seductively walking your fingers along his bare shoulders. âYou like the idea of knocking me up.âÂ
Refusing to look at you, Kakashi clears his throat, trying to ignore the arousal that comes on from your suggestive tone. âI donât know what youâre talking about.âÂ
âNo?â The sheets rustle as you reposition yourself, and then, when your fingers delicately wrap around his cock, he inhales sharply and bites the inside of his cheek. âThen why are you so hard?â Â
And he is, too. Heâs already fully erect and ready for another round, and he knows that thereâs no way to lie his way out of it anymore. As you start to work your hand over him in slow, sensual strokes, up and down, coaxing the answer out of him, his head drops back. âBecause,â he rasps. Â
The sheets shift again, and then you crawl into his lap. He welcomes you gladly, splaying his hand over your lower back to steady you, though he still canât meet your gaze. Heâs too embarrassed.Â
âBecause why?â you hum. Kakashi lets out a pleasured sigh as you kiss and suck your way up the side of his neck, stroking him steadily, before you purr into his ear, âBecause you want to give me a baby?âÂ
A soft sound of approval rips out of his throat, and his cock twitches into your palm. âDonâtâDonât say that,â he pleads.Â
âHm? Why not?âÂ
To hell with it. No sense in hiding it anymore. âBecause I might actually do it.âÂ
âYeah?â Your teeth tug playfully at his earlobe before you pull back to look at him, and Kakashi finally wills himself to meet your sultry gaze, humiliated though he is. âYou know,â you muse, âI donât like condoms for a reason. I wonder why?âÂ
The breath leaves his lungs with a whoosh.
Oh, he should have known. Youâre just as filthy as he is. Of course youâd have a breeding kink, too, though heâs exceedingly grateful that youâd kept it to yourself until now. Youâve never been shy about sharing the things you enjoy, which means you probably figured out how heâd react. Thatâs the only explanation.Â
He likes that you understand him as well as you do.Â
He likes you.
âI think I might be able to guess,â Kakashi says knowingly, a smile playing at his lips. When he leans in to kiss you again, all he can think is: maybe itâs not a bad thing to be too attached.Â
-
Snippet #1:
âYou said it was overdue,â Kakashi tells you pointedly.
âNo, I said I needed to make an appointment,â you correct, and he can see that youâre struggling not to laugh. âI still have, like, a week left on it. Ish. It doesnât hurt to be careful.âÂ
While you cook breakfast for the two of you, Kakashi wraps his arms around your waist from behind and traces the shell of your ear with his tongue. âWhat if I donât want to be careful?â Â
He feels the shiver wrack your body, but then you do laugh at him. âDown, boy. Three rounds wasnât enough for you?âÂ
âOh, I donât know...â Kakashi pulls you back against him, allowing you to feel the answer for yourself, hard and insistent against your ass. âYou tell me.âÂ
-
Snippet #2:
Kakashi hides his face in your pillow, feeling distinctly vulnerable without his mask. âDonât tease me,â he groans, muffled. âI have a delicate constitution.âÂ
You cackle at his discomfort, like the cruel woman you are. âYou donât have to tell me if you donât want to. But Iâm really, really curious.â Then you hum thoughtfully. âDo you want to know one of mine?âÂ
He lifts his head just enough to reveal one curious eye.Â
You squirm a little, then, like youâre finally starting to realise exactly how embarrassing it is to talk about. âI, um...â A pause. âSo, you know how...â Another pause, and you take a deep breath. âOkay. I like to imagine that I'm being used toâto repopulate a clan, I guess. Just, over and over. Lots of kids. But not for real.âÂ
He feels another jolt of arousal at your admission.Â
Looks like youâre on the same page, then.Â
Then Kakashi leans up onto his elbow to regard you properly, and then he lifts an eyebrow, as if to point out how closely that particular fantasy hits to home.Â
Thatâs when you seem to realise who youâre talking to â the sole remaining member of a clan that could probably stand to be repopulated â and your eyes go wide, before you nearly trip over yourself to add, âItâIt has nothing to do with your clan, specifically, Kakashi, itâs justââÂ
âA fantasy,â he finishes for you, amused.Â
You worry your lip between your teeth and nod.Â
âWell,â Kakashi says, considering his answer for a moment, âI might have imagined that, too. Specifically.â Then he gives you a roguish grin, intending to pay you back in kind for your teasing. âHow many children do you think would be enough for my clan to be sufficiently repopulated, hm? Iâm thinking eight.âÂ
Mortified, you bury your face in your hands. âOh my god! Eight?âÂ
Paybackâs a bitch. âWell, I was originally going to say ten, butââÂ
When you squeal in embarrassment and yank the blankets over your head, Kakashi barely manages to stifle a laugh. Â
â

Can we get a James potter pregnancy fic like the moon water one? I just on ow heâd be so sweet and doting and wouldnât let you lift a finger.
it's so true though - he would be a master coddler, & sorry to leave you waiting since April, this fic gave me a run for my money đĽş
James Potter x pregnant wife!reader who interrupts game night
CW: mentions of pregnancy, gambling?
Sirius was not too proud to admit that he felt immediately guilty when he realised the mistake he had made.
As you got further along in your pregnancy, James had become increasingly less inclined to leave your side for any extended amount of time.
It got to the point that James actually took a leave of absence from work, and was now debating whether or not heâd ever go back once the baby was born.Â
Remus, Sirius, and Peter all had bets on how long that was going to last, knowing howâŚinvolved James could be, not withstanding the potential pregnancy hormone related fits of anger and exhaustion.Â
So, this week's game night (and likely every remaining one until perhaps your child went to Hogwarts) was being hosted at Jamesâ.
âSorry boys, I just donât want to risk not being here in case she needs anything, you know?â He had said.Â
And they did know; and quite frankly, Sirius was looking forward to not having to clean up after his sodding friends, so there were no complaints from him or Moony. And your place was closer to Peterâs flat, so he was happy for an excuse to take an evening stroll.
So when the four friends were sitting around a circular dining table, bickering over whose turn it was in their game of muggle poker and you were - what was only now very clear to Sirius - tiptoeing down the stairs of your townhouse, Sirius really shouldnât have made your presence known.Â
âWhat are you doing up?â James asked as he quickly dropped his cards - face down, dammit - onto the table to make his way over to you after being alerted to your presence by Siriusâ traitorous smile and wave.
âI just wanted a snack, Jamie.â You admitted, half bashful and half frustrated at the fussing, though you accepted James' embrace willingly.
Sirius thought the hug looked awkward, seeing as how the two of you needed to leave so much room for your belly.Â
âYou shouldâve told me, angel; I would have gotten it for you.â He chided gently as he ushered you (forced you) into his seat with a gentle hand on your back.
You smiled apologetically at the boys as you sat in Jamesâ seat with only a small groan and a hand on your belly.
âSorry, Trouble.â Sirius apologised quickly. But you - the sweet âangelâ that you were - simply waved him off.Â
âEven if I had made it to the kitchen, he would have heard me rummaging in the fridge.â You said simply, picking up Jamesâ cards and reorganising them.
âHas he got anything good?â Peter asked quickly, causing you to shake your head no before putting the cards back down.
âDamn sodâs been bluffing; he was always such a terrible liar at Hogwarts when he was the lookout for our pranks, how on earth can he bluff?â Remus asked incredulously as he dropped his own hand down on the table (face down, damnit).Â
âHeâs not bluffing; I donât think he has a clue how to play this game.â You explained simply.
âYou should come to all of our game nights.â Sirius chuckled as he gently nudged your arm with his elbow.Â
You chuckled and looked towards the kitchen. âThe point of gamenights was for you four to get together, and for me to have a quiet house.â
âPlease.â James called as he made his way out of the kitchen with a tray of various treats in one hand and a large cup of ice water in the other. âYou gave up having a quiet house the second you said âI doâ.âÂ
You accepted a loving kiss to your temple as he handed the cup of water to you and placed the tray in front of you on top of his cards.Â
If Sirius didnât get a peak at someoneâs cards really fucking soon-
âHow many more weeks do you have?â Remus asked you then; probably a polite thing to ask a pregnant couple but Sirius was a little preoccupied wondering if there was an X-ray vision spell he could use to see through Peterâs cards.Â
âToo many.â You responded as James offered a jovial âItâs gone by so quickly!âÂ
âJamie, I really donât think you get to say that.â You admonished him, though Sirius could tell the furrow of your brows was all for show.Â
âWhat? Why? I feel like this pregnancy has just flown by!âÂ
âOh, well Iâm very glad you feel that way.â You sneered. âBut youâre not the one who had to stretch and grow and carry around a bowling ball.â
Sirius felt himself swallow nervously in Jamesâ honour, but the dumb sod simply beamed at you lovingly and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. âItâs because youâve done it so beautifully, angel; you made it look easy.â
And damn James and his smoothness; he had even Sirius blushing. Â
âAlright, Iâm in.â Remus announced then as he pushed a pile of chips towards the centre of the table.
âMe too.â Peter agreed as he followed in suit.
Sirius felt like he was grasping at billywigs, but he felt he had a better chance than James, so he, too, bet a couple of chips.Â
âWhat say you, Prongs?â Peter asked then.
James turned back to the game, looking surprised as if heâd forgotten theyâd been playing at all.
âOh, I fold.â He said simply.
âWhat!?â Sirius screeched as he threw his cards down on the table.Â
Remus made an exasperated groaning sound as he also placed his cards face up.
âYeah, I had nothing.â James responded with a casual shrug.
âNice.â Peter murmured quietly as he took in the state of Remus and Siriusâ cards before placing his own down on the table and pulling the chips towards himself.
âFor fucks sake!â Sirius shouted.
âPads! Little ears!â James chided.
âAre they even fully developed yet?â Sirius muttered back, earning him a swat up the back of the head from his boyfriend.Â
âOh yes.â You said solemnly. âBabe has been very active everytime Uncle Pads talks.â
Sirius paused in his tussle with Moony to whip his head towards you. âReally!?â
You smiled and nodded, holding your hand out for his which he took willingly and allowed you to place it to a particularly hard spot on your stomach.
âSay something.â You instructed.
âI solemnly swear I am up to no good!â He chanted, the end of his sentence rising an octave (or two, if you asked Moony) when he felt a little kick right underneath his hand. âOh my godric!â
âI wanna feel.â Remus murmured as he reached over his boyfriend to swap places.
âMischief managed.â Sirius continued, feeling the slight jump of excitement in Remusâ body at the movement he obviously felt beneath his hand.Â
âOh gods, youâre gonna have a trouble maker.â Peter remarked with a shake of his head, though his smile let you know the comment was made in jest.Â
âOh, there was never any doubt about that, considering who the father is.â You quipped back, smiling lovingly up at James who simply beamed down at you in turn.Â
âWell, Iâll get out of your hair, boys.â You said as you made to stand. âLet you get back to your games.âÂ
Your sentence was met with a round of dissent.Â
âNo, no mama. Weâll leave.â Sirius argued as he too stood.Â
âWhat? Why are we leaving!?â Pete asked then.
âPeter, you already took all our money, leave the expecting parents to their evening, yeah?â Remus reprimanded, causing the three of them to look over only to see James blanketed over you from behind with both of his hands resting on your stomach as he murmured softly into your ear.
Your eyes were closed as you allowed James to rock the two of you back and forth with a soft smile spread across your face.Â
âCome on Petey, weâre officially intruding.â Sirius added as he tossed another chip at his friend. âTake this for the road - Iâll be winning it all back at our next game night.â

hi lovely ! you asked for kny requests and i've just finished my kny volume 22 re-read, so thats perfect timing đ
I was wondering if you could write something with Yoriichi â (tw for potential child loss)
Maybe a hurt/comfort fic where his pregnant wife actually survives the demon attack while he's away (but maybe she gets quite badly injured and their unborn child doesn't make it, if you want to add a little extra angst to it. If not then that's totally fine, this man deserves a happy ending after all đĽş)
Of course, you're the writer â feel free to take any creative direction you'd like or ignore this request if you're not comfortable with it. Have a lovely day/night! <3
Again, I'm beyond sorry you were forced to wait for this so long! But here you go honey, let me know what you think <3
Yoriichi saving his pregnant wife and unborn child just in time
Pairing: Yoriichi x pregnant!wife!reader
Word Count: 4,2k
Synopsis: You never expected to face a demon ever again, especially not when you are about to deliver your child while your beloved husband Yoriichi is in search for a midwife. Will you and your child be alright? Will your husband make it back on time?
Warnings: injury, horror, child birth, tortue, description of death, extreme angst to fluff, last part is not proofread
Notes: Since the first Yoriichi fic I wrote, I'm so deeply in love with his character that I adore writing him so much! Since this fic took a while, I would totally appreciate your support through liking, commenting and reblogging this fic - thank's a lot babes <3
He canât get enough from simply looking at you. You with your head in the clouds, you with your hand mindlessly roaming around the soft grass underneath, the other one caressing your heavy pregnant belly, you when you give him those surprised eyes as soon as you notice his presence.
âOh, I wasnât aware that youâre already hereâ, you say in a small panicky voice.
You didnât expect your beloved husband back this soon. If you would have known that heâll be here by know you would have cleaned the whole house, made him something to eat and-
âI can only imagine what is going on inside your head again.â
His soft but at the same time rough hand touches your cheek gently, the loving gleam in his fuchsia eyes making you blush in an instant. All the voices in your head stop right in their track when heâs around.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Your savior, your best friend. And most importantly, your husband and father of your future child.
âHow are you feeling, love? Did you enjoy your afternoon?â, he questions, eyes wandering down your body to your swollen belly.
It was hard leaving you alone in a state like this, but he wasnât able to resist the urgent call from last night. He might be nothing but another simple man holding a sword, but it is his responsibility to save those who are in need. What else is he able to give to this world?
His hand lands on your belly, feels the tiniest kick of his unborn child against the palm of his hand. At least he was able to create a smaller version of you. Is it a boy, a girl maybe?
âI hope our child is a reflection of youâ, he finally mutters into the silence, a small but somehow sad smile forming itself on his lips.
You suddenly forget how to breathe, glossy eyes fixated on his captivating sight. Oh, oh much you hate the stinging fact that your husband thinks so negatively about himself. Why canât he see all the heroic things he has done so far, how respected he is in the demon slayer corps? Why canât he see that every inch of his body is flawless? Out of instinct, you let your head rest against his broad chest, breathe in his strong scent. If you could only stay like this here forever, his hand resting against your body while the sun tickles your skin-
A violent moan escapes your lips when a sharp pain runs through your stomach. A kick. A really rough kick, to be exact.
âAre you alright, love? Did something hurt you? Is it the baby?â, your husband asks feverishly, his usual neutral face garbled by worry lines on his forehead.
âJust a kickâ, you press out, still fighting to regain your composure.
âI will search for a mid-wife, (y/n).â
His words make your eyes widen in an instant, a wave of fear crushing down on you. Is it really time already? You look down at your swollen belly, so big that you arenât even able to sit down properly anymore. This has to be the ninth month of your pregnancy.
Your heart sinks. The ninth month. If the books youâve read are accurate, it really is time.
âI canât do this, Yoriichi.â
Thick panic runs through your veins, forces your heart almost out of your chest. You arenât ready to deliver a child, let alone to be a mother. All the things you havenât read yet, the things youâve probably never heard ofâŚWhat if you mess it up? Until you met Yoriichi, all you were able to do was trying to survive. Your mother never had the chance to tell you about those things, isnât here anymore to stay by your side.
You areâŚon your own.
âLook at me, (y/n). I will go out and search for a mid-wife and Iâll be back at sunset, you hear me? Just stay inside the house and nothing will happen. I promise to return as early as possible.â
Fuchsia eyes that radiate through your soul immediately. An angelic voice that calms down your tingling nerves with only four sentences. Strong arms that lift you off the ground and lead you back into the warmth of your home.
But know, itâs not the wooden cabin that feels like home. Your eyes wander to the neutral expression he wears on his face, only betrayed by a worried glow in his orbs. Itâs him, your beloved husband.
âAre you feeling alright, love?â
You take a deep breath in, a deep breath out. Eyes focused exclusively on him until your mind finally silences. Itâs just you and him. You and your beloved husband, the man you would trust with your life without battling an eyelid, the man who made you the person you are today.
âI doâ, you breathe out.
Your heartbeat tames down as well as the kicks of your unborn baby, Yoriichiâs hands keeping you from falling over.
âPromise me to lock the doors and wait in bed until I return, (y/n).â
A seriousness you only know from him when he is forced to leave at night veils his calm eyes.
âButâŚyou will be back before the sun sinks, right?â
He gifts you a small smile, hand caressing your cheek so gently that you almost forget about the worry lines decorating his face. The truth is that the next midwife lives miles away. Even if he gets to the village as soon as possible, the sun will be about to set when he returns. Yoriichi canât help but clench his other hand into a fist next to your stomach. The sheer thought of not making it in time, that youâll be defenceless.
âDonât worry, love. Rest your eyes and be assured that Iâll return as soon as possible.â
But he cannot allow himself to fail you, to leave you alone in those oh so merciless nights. He will return, no matter what it costs.
He presses a soft kiss against your forehead before grabbing his sword tightly.
This. This is his fate, his family. You are his whole life.
And heâll do everything to protect you.
-later that evening-
You are exhausted. Over the last few hours, your body was haunted by waves of pain coming and going like the seasons. Again, you dig your nail into the wooden floor, your heavy breaths hanging in the thick air. You definitely donât need a midwife to tell you itâs time. Yes, your baby is on its way.
And your husband didnât return yet.
Your glossy eyes dart towards the window, witness how the sky outside turns bright red in the down-going sun. Is Yoriichi alright? You know how cruel life can be. Maybe he met a person who needed to be saved on his way, maybe the midwife is too old to rush to your side in time.
âRest your eyes and be assured that Iâll return as soon as possible.â
Those words. Even though heâs not yet by your side, you are able to feel his powerful presence around you, how he calms down your aching heart.
âEverything will turn out alrightâ, you mutter to yourself while caressing your tummy.
âEverything will be alightâŚâ
You allow your lids to rest, body relaxing for the first time since your husband left. You will get through this, you will deliver your wonderful child tonight. A tiny bundle of joy, an image of its father. Is it a boy, a girl? As long as your child is healthy, you couldnât care less.
Carefully, you curl up on your futon, snuggle yourself into the blanket that still holds his scent. Maybe youâll be able to catch a few hours of sleep until he finally comes back. Sleep sure does sound very appealing at the moment.
But just when your breath begins to steady, a violent scratch forces you to sit straight up. It came from outside, without a doubt. Is it an animal, is itâŚ
Your throat gets tight immediately, glossy eyes staring at the closed window in sheer horror. The trees bend back and forth peacefully in what looks like a tender night. But that scratch, it sounded exactly like claws digging into hard wood, sent shivers down your spine immediately. You know that sound all too well, experienced what it means to get slaughtered by a demon before. Just before your whole family died violently, this was exactly what youâve heard.
Out of instinct, you bury yourself into the corner of the room, the blanket that holds Yoriichiâs scent still pressed against your now shivering body tightly. Please, let it be nothing but a wild animal, let your husband come back home soon. Maybe this is nothing but a nightmare and youâll wake up any given minute-
A violent pain runs through your body so suddenly that a shriek escapes your lips. Suddenly all air escapes your lungs, the way your belly cramps making you see start. No, you know exactly what this means, that this is not the right time to deliver a baby. Isnât there anything you can do to stop this? You still need to wait for your husband, the midwife, for this gut-turning feeling to vanish. Your breath gets stuck in your throat, sharp and fast breaths hanging in the thick atmosphere.
But it doesnât stop there. As if this wasnât enough already, you can only stare at the door that gets opened painfully slow, claws digging into the wooden frame.
Without any doubt, this is a demon.
You press your sweaty palm against your mouth, force yourself to stop screaming, to stop breathing.
âI know youâre here, human. You smell like aâŚwoman.â
Itâs like all life is drained from the dead shell of your body, widened orbs staring at the frightful creature that makes its way into your home. Get up, fight, defend yourself like you saw Yoriichi do countless times, use the knowledge you gained from him.
But you donât move an inch, donât dare to look away. For a brief moment, time seems to stand still. Out of all the nights youâve spent together with your husband, this is the first away from him, the first without his protection. Is all of this a dream, a hallucination to test your nerves?
The second the monsterâs deadly red orbs meet yours, you get hit by reality. No, this isnât a dream.
This will be your death.
âI knew you were here, lady. Let me help you up, okay?â
âN-no. Please d-donâtâ, you whimper under your breath.
Your coward of a body doesnât even fight back when he lifts you off the ground with ease, his nails digging into your soft flesh.
âOh, youâre expecting a baby, donât you? Well, does this count as a double kill, then?â
Your baby getting killed? If that thing ends your life, it means your unborn child will never experience dawn, will never get to see the face of its father, will never take in his scent. Your glossy eyes widen in sheer horror, tears now streaming down your face like waterfalls when a single frown form on your forehead.
You couldnât care less about your own life. After all, you were lucky that Yoriichi saved you back then, didnât even deserve to survive when your whole family had to die before you. But that oh so innocent child that might have the eyes of its father, the blessing of your life right after your husband. That innocent life cannot be taken. Â
There is no way you will let this creature lay hands on it.
Your body reacts faster than your mind. With a surprisingly well-placed kick, you free yourself out of the monsterâs casual grip. You need to get out of the house, out where you are able to find shelter, to run away. Your lungs feel like bursting any given minute, legs trembling underneath the weight of yourself and the unborn baby you still carry right under your heart. Even if it means youâll die in vain, even if you wonât be able to see Yoriichiâs tender eyes ever again, you have to make sure your child is safe.
âI underestimated you, stupid woman. As it seems you didnât give up on life yetâ, the creature purrs what feels like right next to you.
A new nauseous wave of panic rises up your veins, makes you sprint even faster through the thick woods that surround your house. This has always been your favorite place to be. The calm trees waving back and forth in a soft breeze, your husband right by your side-
Your husband. Just the thought of never getting to see him again makes your heart ache. You didnât even get the chance to thank him one last time, to let him know how much he truly means to you, that heâs way more than the man who saved your life back then.
Heâs everything you ever wanted, everything you ever needed.
A sharp pain that radiates through your lower body sends you straight onto the ground immediately, figure cramping so violently that you canât catch your breath. No, this is not the time labor, not when a demon is this close.
âOh, there you are. Did you really think you can run away like that? You, a little human? You made me so man that I will kill you as painfully slow as possible.â
You try to lift your trembling figure off the ground, try to get back onto your feet, to sprint down the forest you know so well. But just when youâre about to get back onto your knees, a stinging pain in your right thigh paired with a contraction sends you straight back.
A violent scream escapes your lips.
Red. Everything around you is discoloured red. Is this your blood? Did this thing kill you already, are you going to die? Despite the way your guts start to turn when you follow the trail of blood, you canât look away. And there it is indeed, a gaping hole in your leg, throbbing and bleeding.
All color that is left now drains from your face. With an injured leg, your chance to escape this demonâs claws is non-existent. Which meansâŚ
Your heart skips a beat, threatens to fail you any given second. What about your unborn child? A violent storm of anger and determination clouds your mind, makes all logical thoughts vanish into thin air.
âYou canât kill meâ, you press out.
Since the day you first laid eyes on a demon, you accepted your own death. Your life is worthless anyway, compared to great warriors like your husband himself. But that oh so innocent child, that tiny life you were given to. You ball your hands into fists so tight your knuckles stand out white and lift your throbbing self off the ground. You cannot allow a demon to take the life of that unborn baby.
âI wonât allow you to touch me.â
You realize the stupidity of your words after they spill out of your mouth in rage. You, not allowing a demon to touch your puny figure? Another contraction makes your guts turn and vision almost go black.
As expected the frightful creature draws closer, its unpromising pair of razor-sharp teeth glittering in the dim moonlight. You never expected to see a demon this close again. Oh, how much you hoped youâd never find yourself in that situation again. But you have to get through this, have to make sure you will survive long enough for the mid wife to deliver your child to this world.
His child.
âIâm sorry Yoriichi. I never planned on leaving you alone like thisâ, you mumble to yourself, shaky lips tinted in salty tears.
âBut this all Iâm able to do.â
-Yoriichiâs POV-
Something seems off. Is it the way the trees bent back and forth in the soft breeze of the already set sun? Is it that distant smell that hangs in the air, the one that reminds him of fresh blood and lavender?
âWe must make haste. I can sense that danger is ahead of usâ, he speaks out with firm voice.
He promised you that heâll be back before the sun goes down, that he will make it on time before demon are able to roam around freely. Are you feeling alright? Is the pain unbearable at this point? Do you still hold trust for him in your heart? His footsteps pick up instinctively, eyes set on the visibly stressed man behind him. In contrary to most people, Yoriichi doesnât fear the night or the demons it brings. The only thing he fears at the moment is what you have to endure without your husband by your side.
With every he takes forward, the stinging smell of blood mixed with lavender becomes more urgent in his nose.
Lavender.
He always wondered how you did it. Even after washing, all your clothes kept that calming scent that surrounded you as if you were standing in a lavender bush. A smell so sweet that it caught his interest back then before he caught a glimpse of your fascinating orbs, a smell that always reminds him of home. Yoriichiâs home will always be where you are, where the sensation of lavender is the strongest.
Lavender, the stinging smell of blood that hangs in the air. His eyes widen when his mind starts to race. The smell, it radiates from the direction of your shared home, from the direction that usually fills him with excitement. Can it be
His heart starts racing uncontrollably while he dashes forward and draws his sword. Let it be nothing but coincidence, a cruel joke his thoughts play on him. But the stinging fragrance of lavender mixed with iron fills his heart with dread, makes his mind go numb. What if you got attacked by a demon, what if you are in great danger? All because he didnât live up to his promise, because he didnât make it on time. His eyes roam around the dark area, desperately searching for a sign.
And then his eyes find you.
Yoriichiâs heart stops.
There you lay, leaning against a nearby tree with a puddle of blood surrounding you, widened eyes starring straight into the face of a demon who hollers above you.
âNo one is coming to save you, stupid girl.â
He doesnât waste another second. With a swift motion of his sharp blade, Yoriichi beheads the demon on top of you while a toe-curling scream escapes your lips. Just one look at your sliced-up kimono reveals countless injuries, especially a gaping hole in your thigh. You hold onto your swollen belly for what looks like dear life, eyes still widened in nothing but shock.
â(y/n)â, he gently speaks out while letting himself fall down next to you.
You have to blink a few times. The demon, it was just about to dig its sharp teeth into your sensitive skin, to take the life of your unborn child in front of your eyes.
Maroon.
But those arenât the deadly red orbs. No, those oh so gorgeous eyes look so familiar that your heart tames down in an instant. Could it really be, is it possible that itâsâŚhim?
âYoriichi.â
You breathe his name into the night like a prayer.
Maybe this is nothing but an illusion, a cruel trick your own brain plays on you.
âWords canât express how sorry I am for arriving too late. I will never forgive myself for leaving you alone this long, for causing this to happenâ, his oh so familiar voice blurts out.
Yoriichiâs usual so composed face twists in sheer agony, eyes filling with salty tears. All of this is his fault. He should have arrived sooner, he should have made hurry, he-
âWe didnât come this far to worry now. Please, help be delivering this child, let it all make senseâ, you press out while grabbing his hand tightly.
It doesnât matter that youâre severely injured, it doesnât matter that your beloved husband took longer than expected to come back to you. All that matters now are you, him and your unborn child that waits to be delivered.
âAllow me to assist you.â
A foreign man suddenly speaks out with sweat dripping from his forehead in waterfalls. Just when another wave of nauseous pain hits you with full force, as if you got kicked into your stomach by a horse. You fail to breathe for a second, hands holding onto your husband for dear life.
âYou are already close, it wonât be long nowâ, the man reassures you while gently opening your legs.
âYou can do it, (y/n). After all the things you had to endure today, you will be able to get through this. With me by your side. I love you more than any words could ever say, darling.â
One more push.
One more wave of pain before your body goes numb, before you lose the ability to feel anything except for sweet nothingness.
Until a loud shriek finds its way to your ear.
A violent scream, almost frustrating. When you open your eyes again, you are greeted by a crying but alive bundle of joy, carefully wrapped into a white cloth and placed onto the arm of its father.
Those eyes.
âI prayed every night that he would have your eyesâ, you whimper with tears running down your cheek uncontrollably.
You did it. You saved your beloved child who looks just like its father, you managed to somehow stay alive.
âSheâ, the midwife corrects you gently.
âSheâŚâ, you mumble with a small smile.
The last thing you see are the troubled maroon eyes of your husband before your world goes dark.
-the next day-
A foreign but still so familiar laughter fills the atmosphere around you with joy while you see nothing but black. When your stubborn lids finally open, you are greeted by the wooden ceiling you know so well. This is your home, without any doubt.
The home a demon invaded.
The home where you feared for your life while your husband rushed to the midwife in order to deliver your child.
Your child.
You get up way too quickly, glossy eyes darting around the room without a real aim. Is your baby okay? What happened after the delivery? All you can remember are those familiar maroon eyes that looked so much like the orbs of your beloved husband. Your husbandâŚWhere is Yoriichi?
âDonât move too quickly, love. The doctor strictly forbids you to be in a hasteâ, his gentle voice speaks out next to you.
Just a few moments later, you get invited by the warmth of his arms swallowing you whole. Out of instinct, you let yourself fall against him, press your very own body into his despite the scorching pain that immediately takes over your whole self.
Right, you were attacked by a demon the night you gave birth. How did you manage to escape? Are your injuries critical.
But most important: How is your baby?
âLook what you have accomplished. A little wonder. Just like you, my loveâ, your husband murmurs, carefully lifting a little bundle off a blanket nearby.
Your heart nearly stops when you catch a glimpse of her. Those maroon eyes are the last thing you remember before everything goes black. With shaky hands, you start caressing her puffy cheek. This. This is what you fought for, what makes it all worth it in the end.
âShe has your eyesâ, you hush, tears now streaming down your face in waterfalls.
âAnd your hairâ, Yoriichi replies with a soft smile towards you.
â(y/n), I promise Iâll do anything in my power to protect you and her from something like this. I promise I will stand by your side no matter what. And I hope that someday, you will be able to forgive me for not being there for you when you needed me the most.â
The second your husbandâs voice cracks, you canât hold onto yourself any longer. You wrap your arms around him and your daughter longingly, take in the scent who gave you strength that night.
âThere is nothing to forgive and nothing to feel sorry about. You did your very best and that is all that matters. I love you, Yoriichi. And I have to thank you for saving both of us just in time.â
âYou are my greatest treasure on earthâ, he mumbles against your lips while giving you a passionate kiss.
What a plot twist, what a happy end after all. Yesterday you were sure your life is over, that you wonât live onto the next day. And now youâre lying in your house, holding your giggling daughter while pressing your heavy head against your husbandâs broad chest.
âWell, I fear I will have to share this special place by nowâ, you comment while gazing at your perfect little daughter.
âThis might be true, love.â

Hi!!
Could a please request Peter Parker x reader where theyâve been together for a while and discuss family planning? Like they want to start a family together but both have anxieties for different reasons with Peter being Spider-Man and just general nerves at this being a big step and they comfort one another?
If you get round to this then thank you!!!
thank you for requesting! fem, 1k
âBut youâre Spider-Man.âÂ
Peter doesnât know how you ended up like this, his face at your feet, his feet past your head in his pillows. Your toes wiggle in your socks unthinkingly.Â
âIâm Spider-Man.âÂ
âHow are we sâposed to have a baby if youâre a superhero?âÂ
You ask it without malice; you arenât telling him to do one thing or another, youâre just posing a simple question. Or, not so simple. Thinking about it provokes a hundred different questions, and he gets your point. How can he be a father if heâs a superhero, half the time? How can he expect you to sign on to motherhood while he risks his life?Â
He has to prove that he can do it without getting hurt. Without getting anyone hurt.Â
âIâve been Spider-Man for a long time,â he says softly.Â
You pretend to drop your foot on his face. He laughs and curls into you, an arm around your leg like a wonky cuddle. âAnd it gets more dangerous every year.âÂ
âI would⌠being Spider-Man isâŚâ Peter noses at your leg. Your pyjama pants are hiked up near your knee, leaving a calf open for his mouth to brush against. âIâm Spider-Man,â he says again. Thatâs the simplest explanation. He just is Spider-Man. âBut I would change things. I already have, I mean, I have you to think about now.âÂ
âI just donât know if Iâd be okay with having a baby, if you might die.âÂ
Peter sits up. He frowns. âIâm not going to die.âÂ
You just nibble your lip.Â
âIs that something you worry about?âÂ
You sit up to meet him. âOf course I do.âÂ
Heâs thankful youâre close. He takes your hand, turning your wedding ring to see the stone laid at the apex. You used to worry so much it would make you sick, and he changed to make that easier on you, because he loves you. What was the point in getting married if he was gonna leave you in agony every time he left the house? Newspapers scorned a more careful Spider-Man, and Peter has had to make some hard calls. He canât be selfless anymore âhe thinks about you every time he throws a new web.Â
He didnât realise you were still worried. âWhen was the last time I got hurt?âÂ
âLast night.âÂ
He winces. âAlright, when was the last time I got hurt enough to need medical attention?â
âLast Tuesday.âÂ
âBub, that was one finger, it healed in two hours.âÂ
âBut if you were a normal guy, it wouldâve been weeks.â You arenât out to torture him, or argue, your lips puckered for a quick kiss as he pulls you toward him. âIâm just saying,â you murmur, tapping his nose, your eyebrow pressed against his, âif you want a baby with me? Youâre gonna have to give up even more. Okay?âÂ
âOkay,â he says immediately.Â
Okay. Because heâs Spider-Man, and it means everything to him, but heâs your husband. This is your life together.Â
âI want a baby with you,â he says, a murmur to match your own as his hands wrap around your waist. He drags you forward, your faces still smushed together. âI want kids, and you want them too, and I want you to have everything. So if you need me to change, I can change. I canât stop, but I can make it work.âÂ
âYouâd have to stop sometimesââ
He leans away and cups your shoulder. âI know. Iâm not gonna get you pregnant and go out every night.âÂ
âJust every other.âÂ
âNo, no,â he insists softly. âBub, listen to me. If youâre ready, then Iâm ready. No messing around. Iâm your partner, right? Iâm your husband before Iâm Spider-Man.âÂ
âAre you sure?â you ask.Â
Peterâs not mad, but heâs a little upset youâd think so. Heâs not trying to make you feel this way. He wants you to have total confidence in him, and your potential future family.
âYou need me to tell you that? Iâve never been more sure about anything.âÂ
He doesnât need you to agree to a baby tonight or anything, he just wants you to be happy with him. So he tells you emphatically that youâre his world. You already know why heâs Spider-Man, the responsibility that drives him, but thereâs responsibility in being with you and making you happy. At the end of the day, you come first. He wishes you knew that, but he doesnât mind telling you.Â
Itâs a little later with his arms around you, right side up this time, that he confesses, âI donât even know if Iâd be a good dad.âÂ
You arenât worried. âThatâs silly. As long as you donât get killed by a giant radioactive reptile, youâll be amazing.â
âHow do you know?âÂ
âSame way you know Iâll be a good mom.âÂ
âYou will be.â
You kiss his neck. âI knew youâd say that. I donât know if Iâll be a good mom, I just know you believe in me.âÂ
âI do.â
âYouâll be a good dad,â you further, pressed as far into his neck as you can be, lavished by his hands running up and down your back. âI know parenting is a lot of things, but I really think itâs the same as being a good boyfriend. Youâre kind. Youâre so patient. Youâre funny. I canât wait to have a little baby that looks like you nâŚâ You sigh. He loves that touch of wistfulness behind it. âI canât wait to be a family with you.âÂ
âAre you tired?â he asks.Â
You mumble. âMm. Just a bit.âÂ
He strokes your neck. âI canât wait to be a family, either⌠maybe it can wait until tomorrow, though.âÂ
You smile into his jaw, dragging yourself up to kiss his cheek. âLove you, Peter Parker.âÂ

MASTERLIST | THE (IM)PERFECT PLAN SERIE
It was the second time that day you found yourself leaning over the toilet, your stomach churning relentlessly. Breakfast and the light snack youâd had earlierâboth meant to be simpleâhad already made their way there, and with each passing moment, your suspicions grew harder to ignore. Yet, you stubbornly refused to acknowledge what was right in front of you.
Two weeks had passed since your period was supposed to start, something completely out of the ordinary for you. Your cycle was always regular. In its place came the nausea and constant vomiting.
You didnât know what to do. The thought of taking a test was too terrifying. It felt easier to pretend this was just a passing illness. After all, how could you possibly be pregnant? You and Lewis were always careful, taking every precaution.
âYou need to take a test,â your friend Anne said as she held your hair back, preventing the mess from worsening.
âAnne, I donât know if I want to know the answer.â You spoke between breaths, rising to rinse your mouth at the sink.
âEventually, youâll have to face it,â she said gently, her hand brushing over your back in a gesture of comfort. âIf itâs true, youâre going to have to tell him.â
âI donât even know if he wants to be with me, let alone a child. Heâs going to hate this news.â Your tired, worried eyes stared back at you in the mirror. âI donât know what to do.â
âHe wonât hate it. He loves you, and Iâm sure heâll love having a child with you,â Anne said, trying to ease your anxiety. âY/N, donât believe what people say online. They just want to bring you down.â
âYou donât understand.â You turned to her, your eyes full of doubt. âWeâve never talked about itâabout starting a family. Whenever the subject comes up, he changes it. At first, I thought it was because weâd only been together a short while, but now⌠I think he genuinely doesnât want anything more serious.â
âBut youâve been together for two years! How could he not want something more serious?â
âHe was with Nicole for seven years, and that wasnât enough for him to marry her.â You lowered your head, your chest tightening. âDeep down, I think the mediaâs right. He probably just wants to stay free until the last day of his life. His whole world revolves around Formula 1. Family isnât part of his plans. Only the eighth title matters.â
You took a deep breath, trying to keep the tears at bay. The weight of your words felt unbearable, but you couldnât stop thinking them. The fear that this was all a mistake, that Lewis simply wasnât ready for more, consumed you.
Anne noticed your distress and stepped closer, her hand resting on your shoulder in a comforting gesture. âI know it seems hard right now, but you canât make these decisions on your own. You have to talk to him. He deserves to know, and you deserve to hear what he has to say.â
You turned to face her, your expression reflecting the emotional storm you were caught in. âAnd if he doesnât want it? If he tells me heâs not ready, that what we have isnât enough? What am I supposed to do with this baby? With this⌠life?â
âThen youâll deal with it in your own way. This isnât about what he wantsâitâs about what you want, what you need. He may be the person you love, but donât forget who you are and what you deserve.â
Anneâs words echoed in your mind, but the truth still felt distant, shrouded in uncertainty. It felt like you were standing at a crossroads with your life taking a direction youâd never planned for. Lewis, with his fast-paced existence of racing, titles, and adrenaline, seemed worlds apart from your quiet longing for stabilityâperhaps even a family. Something you werenât even sure he shared.
In the end, you knew you couldnât avoid reality any longer. The test needed to be done. Procrastination wasnât an option anymore. The fear was overwhelming, but the uncertainty hurt worse. And, above all, the result would only be the beginning. The real challenge would be telling Lewis.
âWill you do this with me?â Your voice came out softer than expected, almost a whisper filled with vulnerability. You looked at Anne, searching her expression for a strength you felt youâd lost. âI mean, will you buy the test and wait for the result with me?â
Anne smiled reassuringly, taking your hand in hers with a firm grip. âOf course. And if you prefer, we can do this at my apartment. No rush, no pressure.â
You shook your head in refusal. âI think itâs better to do it here. Heâs not coming back today⌠probably not until tomorrow night. Maybe even later.â The emptiness of the house felt less oppressive when you spoke aloud, but the apprehension was still palpable. âI just need the courage to go to the pharmacy.â
Anne squeezed your hand, her eyes full of understanding. âYou donât have to do this alone. Letâs go together. Letâs get this over with.â
The trip to the pharmacy was quick, but each step felt like a monumental challenge. The way back home seemed even longer, with the weight of the small package in your bag growing heavier by the second. Back at the apartment, you locked yourself in the bathroom while Anne waited outside, offering encouraging words that barely penetrated the storm in your mind.
You held the test in trembling hands, your eyes scanning the instructions like they were an impossible puzzle. Time seemed to freeze as you waited for the result, the silence broken only by the relentless pounding of your heart.
When you finally looked at the small display, reality crashed over you like a tidal wave. Positive.
Your breath caught in your throat, tears welling up in your eyes as you stared at the lines that confirmed what you already suspected. Silent tears began to stream down your face as a flood of emotionsâfear, anguish, and an inexplicable love for the new life now connected to youâwashed over you.
âWell?â Anneâs soft, hesitant voice called from the other side.
You opened the door, holding the test in your trembling hand. Anneâs expression softened at the sight of your tears. She said nothing, simply pulling you into a tight embrace.
âWhat now?â you asked quietly, your voice laden with uncertainty.
Anne pulled back just enough to look into your eyes, her expression calm but firm. âNow you take a deep breath, Y/N. Then, you tell him. No matter the fear, no matter the doubts. He deserves to know, and you deserve to be heard.â
You nodded slowly, but the lump in your throat remained. Her words were logical, exactly what you needed to hear, but the fear still loomed, beating loudly in your chest. How would you tell Lewis? How would you find the words that would change both your lives forever?
âAnneâŚâ Your voice came out shaky, barely a whisper, as you wrapped your arms around her tightly, searching for any fragment of comfort. âIâm so scared. What if he⌠what if he doesnât want this baby?â
Anne sighed, her hand gently rubbing your back with patience. âY/N, even if he doesnât, which I honestly find hard to believe, youâll move forward. Youâre stronger than you think.â She pulled back just enough to meet your eyes, her gaze full of conviction. âIf you want to have this baby, thatâs all that matters. Weâll take care of it. I wonât leave you alone, ever.â
You closed your eyes, trying to absorb her words, but the weight of the situation still felt unbearable. âBut what if he leaves me, Anne? What if he thinks this was a mistake? That I was careless?â
Anne cupped your face with both hands, forcing you to look at her. âHe loves you. And even if the idea scares him at first, heâs a good man, Y/N. But more than anything, you need to remember that his love isnât the only thing that matters here. What do you feel? What do you want? That matters, too.â
Her question hung in the air, echoing in your mind as you tried to find an answer. Deep down, you knew what you wanted. You loved Lewis with all your heart, and despite the fear consuming you, you already felt an inexplicable love for the life growing inside you. But bridging those two feelings felt impossible.
As you stared at the positive test sitting on the bedside table, your heart pounded relentlessly, racing with uncertainty. That tiny object seemed to carry the weight of all your doubts and fears. You knew you couldnât put off talking to Lewis forever, but the thought of confronting him was paralyzing. Each passing second only tightened the knot in your throat.
He was supposed to return the following morning, giving you one night to organize your thoughts, find the right words, and somehow gather the courage that felt so far away. But now, as the reality began to settle in, you decided to push it aside for a while. You needed to distract yourself, to focus on taking care of yourselfâand the baby you now carried.
In the kitchen, you started preparing something simple to eat. The thought of being responsible for another life made every small action feel significant. You couldnât ignore your health or choices anymore. Everything you did was for two now. And though the anxiety still throbbed in your mind, there was a small, strange comfort in that realization.
You were slicing fruit when the sound of the front door opening suddenly broke the silence of the house. Your heart nearly stopped for a moment. He wasnât supposed to be back until the next morning.
âY/N?â Lewisâs voice echoed from the living room, heavy with exhaustion and surprise.
You turned to see him standing in the hallway, still holding his travel bag. He was dressed casually in a black jacket and his signature travel cap. His eyes locked on you, then shifted to the plate of fruit on the counter before softening into a smile.
âI decided to come back early. I couldnât stop thinking about you.â He approached, leaving the bag by the wall to pull you into a warm hug. The heat of his body against yours brought immediate comfortâbut also a new weight.
You werenât ready. Not yet. But the moment seemed to have chosen himâor fate had.
âAre you okay?â Lewis asked, pulling back just enough to study your face. His expression was laced with concern.
âIâm⌠Iâm fine. Just tired.â Your voice came out low, but you knew he would sense something was off. Lewis always did.
His brows furrowed slightly as he tilted his head, his gaze probing. âYou sure? You seem a little distant.â
With him standing there, just a few steps away, the idea of telling him felt even more daunting. Fear wrapped itself around your chest, squeezing tighter and tighter. Fear that the news could change everything between you, fear that the love you shared wouldnât be enough to face what was coming. So, for at least one more night, you decided to delay. Tomorrow would be the right time. Tonight, you just wanted to savor your last moment of peace with himâif everything changed afterward.
But the memory of the test sitting on the bedside table sent a fresh wave of panic through you. If Lewis went into the bedroom now, heâd see it. There was no way to hide it in time.
âNothingâs wrong, love.â You forced a smile, leaning up to kiss him, his lips still warm from the chill outside. âWhy donât you sit down? Iâll take your bag and be right back, okay?â
Before you could grab his bag, Lewis held onto it firmly, shaking his head.
âYou donât need to do that. I can carry my own bag.â He smiled, the kind of smile that always made your heart flutter, and slung the strap back over his shoulder. âIâll shower and then we can pick a movie, yeah?â
âNo, seriously, let me.â You insisted, your voice slightly too quick. âYou must be exhausted. Just relax, Iâll handle it.â
He raised an eyebrow, clearly noticing your unease, but didnât argue further. âY/N, Iâm not made of glass. I can carry my own luggage.â
Without another word, you followed him to the bedroom, your heart racing with every step. Lewis placed his bag by the wardrobe but lingered, his gaze drifting back to you.
âYouâre acting weird,â he commented with a small smile, though he didnât press further. âIâll take a quick shower and be back. Pick us a good movie.â
As soon as he entered the bathroom and the door closed, you let out the breath you had been holding and quickly made your way to the bedside table. With swift movements, you grabbed the test and hid it in the deepest drawer, pushing it down beneath a few papers. When you finished, the relief was immediate, but brief.
You left the room and returned to the kitchen, trying to distract yourself with anything else. You prepared a bowl of fruit and placed it on the counter, but your mind couldnât help but drift back to the inevitable moment that was coming.
Minutes later, sensing something was off with Lewisâs delay, you decided to return to the bedroom. When you opened the door, your heart nearly stopped at the sight before you. Lewis was sitting on the bed, his eyes fixed on the pregnancy test he was holding in his hand.
âLewisâŚâ your voice came out weak, barely a whisper.
He looked up, and for a moment, you couldnât read his expression. It wasnât anger, but it wasnât relief either. It was something in betweenâconfusion, perhaps.
âHow long have you known?â he asked, his voice low but firm.
The question hit you like a punch. âWhat? Lewis, Iââ
âWere you hiding this from me?â He stood up, his brow furrowed in a mix of frustration and hurt. âDid you think you could handle this alone?â
âI didnât⌠I just found out!â you retorted, feeling your eyes well up. âI didnât even have time to think, to process. I was going to tell you, Lewis!â
But he didnât seem to hear you. He ran his hands through his hair, clearly trying to organize his thoughts.
âI thought we were a couple, Y/N. That we trusted each other.â
Those words hit you cruelly, a blow to your vulnerability. âLewis, I wasnât hiding anything! I just⌠I didnât have the courage to take the test until today. I needed a moment. A second to process what was happening to me.â
He paused, studying your face, his dark eyes softening as his anger dissolved into understanding. Finally, he shook his head, the weight of the tension lifting from his shoulders.
âWhen were you planning on telling me?â he asked, his voice quieter, but still firm.
âI was going to tell you tomorrow,â you rushed to explain, almost pleading for him to believe you. âI just⌠I didnât know how to do it. Lewis, please, believe me.â
His expression changed completely. Without saying another word, he walked over and pulled you into a tight hug. The warmth of his body was comforting, but what struck you the most was the soft sound of a sob. He was crying.
âYou shouldâve told me as soon as you suspected,â he said, his voice thick with emotion. âI wanted to be here with you when you took the test.â
âAre⌠are you happy?â you asked hesitantly, the words coming out in a whisper full of doubt.
He pulled back slightly, cradling your face in his big, warm hands. A smile broke through the tears streaming down his face.
âOf course Iâm happy, my love.â His voice was low, but full of conviction. âThis baby is a piece of our love. How could I not be happy?â
You collapsed into his arms, your head resting on his strong chest as tears flowed freely down your face. The relief and love you felt in that moment were overwhelming.
âYou have no idea how scared I was,â you confessed through sobs. âI was so afraid you wouldnât want this baby⌠that you wouldnât want me anymore.â
He held you even tighter, impossibly so, and kissed the top of your head, lingering in the gesture.
âI would never do that, Y/N. Never.â He sighed, his voice thick with emotion. âYou mean everything to me. And now, weâre going to be a family. I just wish Iâd been there with you from the start.â
His words were a balm, soothing the storms that had built in your heart over the past few weeks.
âIâm sorry,â you whispered, still hidden against his chest.
âYou donât have to apologize,â he replied, gently stroking your hair. âWeâre both learning. But now that I know⌠I promise youâll never face any of this alone again.â
You stayed like that for long minutes, not needing any more words. The moment was just for the two of you, and nothing seemed more important than the future you were beginning to build together.

One thing I always wonder in Neglected! Reader scenarios that I havenât seen anyone explore is Married/Single Mom! Reader. Itâs drama and angst potential.
Like Reader having a boyfriend and getting pregnant while still living in the Wayne manor, and everyone just takes a little too long to figure out. Maybe they do find out early with the morning sickness and whatnot but the thought of Bruce looking at Reader like 6 months pregnant and being like âWait a minute⌠đ¤¨â and Reader wasnât even trying to hide it that much.
And same scenario except Reader moved out either while pregnant or got pregnant after, Batfam forgets all about them and when fate does bring them together (like the Bruce/Selina wedding concept) she is literally about to pop or has a whole baby with her. Cue Bruce (and later everyone else) losing his shit because omg??? đ§ thatâs his first grandchild and he had no idea!!
⌠And then if the Reader is married in this scenario, makes it all the more complicated (she didnât invite anyone to her wedding? what do you mean Alfred attended when we had no idea?). Everyone is straight up hostile towards her spouse (Damian, Bruce and Jason are insufferable) and safe to say he wonât be around for long. Single mom Reader though, the amount of emotional manipulation about kids needing a family and father figures and you should move back in so everyone can help with the baby⌠Yeah.
Platonic!Yandere!Batfam x SugarBaby!Reader x Older!Husband
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
A/N:OOOOO, I have something I was working on that I was having fun with that you might like!
A/N:Neglected!Reader with Older!Husband. (It's husband because it's based of that meme Your daughter calls me daddy, too. And, Reader is Female, because we're making a baby in here.)
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
You, sweet thing, do the typical thing and run off from home, once you turn the legal age. Checking in with Alfred on occasion, but just living your best life. Only, in typical fashion, all those years of neglect lead to severe daddy issues. And, a minor itty bitty attraction to older men.
You get lucky though because you manage to find a fine one that loves to spoil his baby girl with vacations and spa days. All the best for his baby. He loves taking you places and showing you a good time. So, it's no wonder he plans a Babymoon for you when you're expecting your first child. Anything for you.
Unfortunately, Daddy gets called into work right before the vacation. And, despite you insisting you stay, he makes you go and promises to join you as soon as possible.
(No, the man isn't cheating. He just gotta make the money for his baby.)
You have a good time, pregnant on the beach. Getting massages and spa treatments. Video calling your husband every time the baby kicks and flutters.
Unfortunetly, even though you haven't used the Wayne name since you've been married, some drug lords recognize you and decide to ransom you. Dragging you back to Gotham in your little sundress the just so hides your baby bump.
Gotham media runs with the story. Lost Wayne heiress held hostage. No one is ignoring that.
The bat's pull off a daring rescue, but you being stubborn, try to escape on your own. Fearing for your baby's life if they just happen to chose not to come. They never came when you were little, why would they come now.
You happen to injure yourself while escaping. But, manage to make it to an on scene ambulance while the Bats take care of the thugs. You happen to faint on the way to the hospital, leaving the doctor's discover you pregnancy.
Already the media is surrounding the hospital for the most drama filled story of the year. Thankfully, the paramedics have some compassion in hide the bump when rolling you into the ER.
With the media's attention, your husband flies into Gotham and makes it to the hospital just in time to ask the nurse where you are in front of Bruce.
Bruce, of course, bristles when a man his age burst in the hospital demanding to see you, but is using the wrong last name. The nurse saying only family can see you.
"That's my daughter," Bruce will say. Assuming this man is trying to claim you as his. But, he already did.
Making Bruce, the family, the nurses, the patients, and the reporter who managed to sneak in freeze when he says, "That's my wife."
Imagine the doctor that just finished checking on you and your baby walking in right after announcing that you were both okay. The look on Bruce's face when he realizes that this man, his age, not only married you, but had the audacity to put a baby in you.
Even better, the smug way your husband looks at Bruce when he brushes past him to follow the nurse to your room because husband beats father and you demanded to see him.
The drama that follows is going to be legendary.
âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
A/N: I had this idea jotted down and fluffed it up just for this. I'm not sure you wanna know who I had in mind for Reader's husband. (Dude is from another franchise.) But, the thought of him interacting with Bruce as the guy who married Bruce's daughter and knocked her up, delights me in such a visceral way.

To Own, But Not To Share (III)
Part 1&2
Emperor Geta x Female Reader
Chapter Summary: Geta helps you with your anxiety around contracting syphilis and ensures you will never be infected
Chapter warnings: SMUT, 18+, orgy, oral sex, discussion of periods and STIs, reader has anxiety (much like the author), slave to lovers??, cumshot, the twins have mommy issues. 3.6k words. Read on AO3
The thrill of having sex with an Emperor soon wore off. You believed it was good to remember your place in his life in order to not get your hopes up. You were nothing but decoration on his arm to rub his back or play with his hair. He did not have sex with you again before your next period, he simply requested you pet him. Seeing you no longer be his favourite put you in good graces with the other concubines.
You discovered that when the concubines spent a week away from the Emperors for their bleed, the women were thankful for the respite. The fake smiles and giggles could finally end as you were embraced with the pain from your womb. The shared experience brought you closer with your fellow slaves
âItâs getting worse. Thereâs definitely more now - I can feel it,â Julia expressed, her hand down her loincloth.
You assumed she was talking about her blood. After all, that was why you were all kept away in the slaves quarters and not with the Emperors.
âYou complain as though you are the only one of us afflicted with it,â Silvia protested.
You felt a need to contribute. Even though what you were experiencing was unpleasant, it could be worse.
âWe should take solace that we are not with child. We would be kicked out and left pregnant in the streets. Or executed.â
The two concubines stared at you from their beds not looking amused.
âYou think we are talking about menses? That is nothing,â Julia explained.
If they were not commiserating about their cycle, you did not know what other affliction they had.
âYou donât know do you?â Silvia gasped, then turned to look at her friend, twirling her hair around her finger.
âYou pleasured Caracalla and did not see the growths surrounding his length? The scars gracing his face? His disease spreads to all of us,â clarified Julia.
While you did use your hands and sex on the man, you admit you did not look closely at him. The thought of now being infected with a whoreâs disease made your stomach drop. Was this why Geta didnât want you to attend to his brother? Or why he no longer desired you? Maybe he saw the concubines that slept with Caracalla as âtaintedâ.
âHow do you know you have it? What are the first signs?â You asked panicked.
âSores and rashes. You have not been here long enough for them to turn up though,â described Silvia.
It did little in relieving you. Even if you were infected, you would not know it yet.
The news of potentially having syphilis did not help you settle into your new home. Your anxiety spiked again, having relaxed slightly over the past few weeks. A symptom of this was having your appetite diminish. You had food constantly offered to you, but you barely ate two small meals a day. Once your blood stopped and you returned to the Emperorsâ side, the fruit and meats Geta held to you did not enter your lips.
âOne berry,â Geta tried to convince you to eat from his hand, but you shook your head. He took a bite out of the fruit then pressed it onto your skin, itâs juice leaving a trail from your neck to your nipple where the man rubbed it over your exposed breast. He then discarded the half eaten berry on the floor and leant in to suck your nipple. He sucked for a while, as though it was more comforting than sexual for him.
âShall we buy a wet nurse for you, brother?â Caracalla joked and everyone erupted in laughter, even yourself. It was the first time you had laughed in months, what was there to be happy about being enslaved.
âWe all know the wet nurse is your fantasy, not mine,â Geta retorted, and walked away from the rest of the group.
âI think we have upset him. More wine to celebrate!â cheered Caracalla, delighted with the response he got out of Geta. The remaining concubines cheered also, and you sipped your goblet of wine, laughing from Caracallaâs continued mocking of his brother distracted you from your anxiety.
A couple of days later, A praetorian told you that Geta requested your presence in his bed chambers. You had not had sex with him since your first full day at the palace, so were intrigued how he would put you to use. He was your master, and he could use you as little or frequent as he wanted.
It was night, and while he still wore his brightly coloured toga, his makeup had been cleaned off. It was the first time you had seen him without any coloured powder surrounding his eyes. It made him look gentler, it made his brown eyes look bigger.
âCome sit with me,â he ordered and you walked towards his grand bed. It was a large four poster bed with soft white sheets. It matched his title, the way your small metal bed matched your title of slave.
You awkwardly sat down next to him, sinking into the wool mattress. You stared around the room, paintings hung on the walls and furniture was bountiful. His chambers was bigger than your entire family home. The fortune he had made you feel sick. The Emperors had no idea of life other than the entitled ones they lived. This man could not relate to anything you had experienced in your life.
He had a balcony that looked over gardens and a courtyard, the door leading out there was open and let in a gentle cooling breeze. You imagined it must be peaceful to have the sights and sounds of nature enter your home instead of the packed bustling city streets.
âWould you rather us sit and look at the night sky? I will request an extra chair be brought out for you,â Geta decided, not even waiting for your response. He went to the door and returned with a guard carrying a chair to the balcony.
âIâve never had company out here before,â he admitted softly as you took a seat on the cold metal garden chair.
You imagined he had company in his chambers plenty of times before, especially in his bed. But no one had ever ventured out onto this space. Strange, given how he offered it so quickly to you.
âBeautiful grounds,â you commented, unsure of what to say or what he wanted from you. If he wanted to have sex with you, he wouldnât bring you out here to look at stars, he would get straight to it.
âI rarely spend time out there. Thereâs always more important things to attend to.â
His definition of important made you giggle inside. All the brothers did were drink, party and order the senates around.
âWhat troubles you?â He asked, turning his body to you.
âI do not understand, Emperor. I am fine,â you dismissed.
âYou should be gaining weight, but you are losing it. I never see you eat. Does the food displease you?â Questioned Geta.
You didnât know how you were going to explain yourself. He would not understand your worries and how they affected you. How you have to stop yourself from thinking about the future due to how bleak it was. Once the syphilis takes over your body, the Emperors would no longer want you and you would be tossed out onto the streets along side the other concubines.
âIâm just not very hungry,â you explained away, averting your eyes to the floor.
âStop lying to me!â He shouted, getting up from his chair to stand over you. He was very intimidating like this; it made you want to curl up and hide.
âI - Iâm worried,â you hurriedly confessed.
âAbout what? Who is making you feel this way?â He seethed.
âThe - the disease that your brother has. All the concubines have it, and I fear Iâm next, that I already have it.â
Geta slowly sat back down on his chair. He knew all about his brotherâs illness, how he passed it to everyone that touched him. How the concubines could give it to each other during the Emperorsâ orgies.
âThe fear consumes me, consumes my appetite.â
Geta shook his head. There was no cure for anyone in Rome with the sickness. His brother was slowly going mad with it, and it was a matter of time before the concubines followed suit.
âStand up. Let me check,â he offered. He did not want to become like his brother and contract the illness, and he didnât want you to have it either. He only just got you, hadnât had his moneys worth yet.
You stood up and waited for whatever the Emperor planned to do, unsure how he would check. He took the bold move to kneel before you and tug down your loincloth to your ankles. He raised your short tunic for you to hold so he could be face to face with your pussy. It was a bizarre situation to find yourself in - the Emperor of Rome staring at your shaved mound in the moonlight. You looked down but all you could see was his curls, looking dark in the night. He moved your legs apart and then his head disappeared as he went further into his examination of you. His fingers stroked the skin of your vulva, then spread your lips to see your most sensitive skin.
âDo you have sores anywhere on your body? In your mouth? Any fevers?â
You shook your head no for all of it. You were unsure how much detail he could see in the darkness, the only light coming from the moon and stars. Besides, he wasnât a healer. All he knew was power and greed, so you couldnât picture his diagnosis being accurate.
His fingers stopped their search and his hands wrapped around you, the side of his head pressed into your sex, as though he was giving the lower half of your body a hug.
âYouâre not infected,â Geta muttered. His eyes were shut in relief as he held your thighs to him. You remained still though.
He looked up at you from your legs. âTrust me. I know this disease. I know what it looks like. You do not have it.â
This did ease your mind, but you would still keep an eye out for symptoms.
âYou donât have it, and Iâll keep it that way,â he promised.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him and let your tunic cover you again.
âHow will you keep it that way? No one can control Emperor Caracalla.â
Geta stood up and held your head in his hands. âI will kill him before I let him lay a finger on you.â
It was extremely brazen to say, it could be interpreted as treason.
âHe is selfish, only wants what I have. If he does not see me with you, he will not want you,â he clarified.
âWhatever you wish, Emperor.â
If he did not want to use you, that was your ownerâs choice. It was not your place to say that it was pointless for him to buy a concubine and not put her to use.
âI will only use you in my chambers. I will tell the guards you have unlimited access to the palace,â declared Geta.
You stupidly thought he would no longer use you for sex, how wrong you were! Now, the Emperor would only fuck you in private.
âAm I dismissed, Emperor?â You asked, pulling your loincloth up to cover you again. You desperately wanted to tell the other concubines what had transpired.
âNo,â he blurted out. âRest with me.â
You assumed it was a polite way of saying he wanted you, especially when he took off his toga and slipped underneath the covers naked. But he patted the space next to him in the bed, so you went next to him, choosing to stay dressed.
To begin with, you laid frigid on your back, hands by your sides. If you were not going to have sex with him, you did not know how to relax around him. He moved his body so his head rested on the centre of your chest. You moved one of your hands to hold him, and the other raked through his hair. Periodically, you leant down to kiss the top of his head. The Emperor hummed contently. If he was a dog, his tail would be wagging. The powerful Emperor was gone, and a needy boy had replaced him.
âIf you tell any one of this, I will kill you with my bare hands,â Geta suddenly threatened, disrupting the peace.
âYou have my word, Emperor.â
You woke up with light streaming in from the curtains. There was no sunshine, so you knew it was early. The Emperor no longer laid on top on you, but slept on his back to the side of you. You lifted up the sheet covering you to look at his naked resting body; to see him in a state of peace. While doing so, you indulged in looking at his toned body, his facial stubble and of course his cock, that was comically standing up.
âSuck it,â he taunted, voice deep and groggy. You quickly whipped your head around to look at his face.
âYou know you want to,â he teased with a lazy smile.
He had caught you ogling him like a pervert. There was no point trying to act prim and proper now. You pushed the sheets towards the end of the bed and sat in between his legs. You began by slowly stroking him, watching the glide of his foreskin reveal and cover his tip again and again. Every time his tip came out, you gave it a gentle kiss.
âI knew you couldnât resist me,â he flirted. He took ahold of your hair and encouraged you to start taking more of him in your mouth. You tried your best to make it pleasurable for him, doing all you could to keep your teeth hidden and mouth wet. He enjoyed the sounds you made as you gagged on his cock and needed to touch more of you than just your hair.
âCome here,â he instructed. He grabbed you and guided you to his head. You were unsure what he wanted from you, but he pushed your head and back down, so knew he wanted you to continue sucking him off from this new position. Your thighs settled on either side of his head and you could feel his hands unravelling your loincloth. Soon, he tossed the fabric onto the floor and you were exposed to him.
It was humiliating having him so close to your core. You tried so hard to keep your body as far away from his face as possible that your thighs began to tremble. When he leaned up and gave a wet kiss to your pussy lips, you stopped straining and relaxed your body onto his face. The rough stubble of his beard grazed your soft thighs. His tongue explored you, from your hole up to your hard clit.
âBreakfast is served. Youâve prepared a feast for me,â he bragged.
His tongue distracted you from your ministrations on his dick. When his mouth went to your clit and stayed there, and starting sucking, you rested your head on his thigh. Was this how it felt when a man was getting sucked? If so, you could understand why the Emperors had an endless chain of people to have sex with. You grinded on him, feeling his nose press against you.
âThe more I clean up, the more your body produces,â he stated, discussing the endless liquid arousal you excreted.
âCum. Cum on me,â he directed, his voice muffled from his mouth pressed against you.
The way his mouth felt on you, it didnât take long before your orgasm started. Your empty hole contracted, your stomach muscles tensed causing you to shake. When you began to come down from your high, you began working on his dick again. You sucked on the head while your hand stroked up and down his shaft. Soon, he flooded your mouth with his load. His gasps accompanying his flexed feet.
You turned around to let him watch you swallow down his seed. He shook his head against the pillow, unable to believe he got so lucky to have someone like you enter his life.
âThatâs the most youâve eaten in weeks,â he jested, his soft smile making you forget that he was a sadistic leader.
âYouâll have to keep feeding me,â you teased back.
You rose up from the bed and walked over to where your loincloth landed. You started to wrap it around you when you were interrupted.
âI have not dismissed you yet,â Geta condemned. The sudden harshness of his tone made you freeze.
âI will request food be brought up to us,â he spoke. He grabbed a robe and tied it up before walking out of the room.
For the next few weeks, you spent every night you were not bleeding in his chambers. You fed each other the best food Rome had to offer, gazed at the stars on his balcony and became more and more comfortable with each otherâs bodies. The most you did in front of others was hold hands. It was strange for the Emperor to have to restrain himself, but it was worth it knowing his brother had no interest in you.
The clothes given to you started to change. The revealing dresses you wore were swapped for more modest outfits. It made you stick out from the other concubines around the twins. While the other women wore dresses with their breasts hanging out and bottoms barely covered, the only skin you showed were your arms.
Caracalla demanded that an orgy be organised. He was desperate for a party and to let loose. You didnât understand how it would be any different from his normal days, but looked forward to getting dressed up for something.
Geta knew he had to do something in order to keep his brother away from you that night. Geta was only interested in being intimate with you, and knew that once Caracalla would see this, heâd want a piece of you too. So he went out of his way to buy a new concubine, but a different one than normal. The new woman was older than you, and had big swinging breasts. He hoped his brother would take the bait.
âSheâsâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚlarger than normal,â his brother noted when he first saw their new slave. âAnd older.â
âLetâs see what she is capable of tonight,â Geta reasoned. He knew that once his brother had consumed enough wine and drugs, he would be all over the new woman like a starving newborn.
Geta and yourself watched on from a chaise lounge as Caracalla devoured the newest concubine. A glass of wine and a line of rhino horn was all it took for him to pull her dress off.
When he was fully distracted was when Geta finally made a move on you. He undid the clasp and let your dress drop to the floor, leaving you completely naked.
âShe has not been shaven,â Silvia brought to Getaâs attention. When the maidens had bathed you recently, you noticed that the razor did not come out as often. So your dark curls had returned.
âShe is at my preference,â disclosed Geta. Being clean shaven was for the whores. You were more than that.
âBut she needs to be smooth,â Silvia carried on, having been shaved for the Emperorsâ beauty standards for as long as she had been in the palace.
âShe is at my preference!â he raged.
He turned back to you, disappointed that he had expressed such rage in front of you.
âNever mind that. Lay down for me dear,â he whispered so no one saw him show weakness.
You had sex with him on top of you, your legs up on his shoulders. When you thought you couldnât get closer, he pushed himself forward, your legs now pushed back against your chest.
He was so deep inside you, you feared he would take away your ability to walk. Fucking you so fast, his gold crown fell off. After thrust after thrust of him abusing that spot within you, you started to clench around him, trying your hardest not to scream.
Your faces were pressed against each other, he breathed in your laboured breaths.
âYouâre milking me for everything I have,â he grunted.
You looked into each otherâs eyes as he pulled out and ropes of his load landed on the hair covering your cunt.
He gave you a searing kiss, not bothering to hide the passion between you. He didnât care if anyone saw him use his tongue in your mouth. It would tell others to stay away from you.
As your kisses slowed to something more romantic and peaceful, both of your attentions went to Caracalla, who was nearing his peak too.
âMama,â he whined. âMama, Iâm so close.â
His head was in the breasts of the older woman, alternating between sucking her large nipples and motorboating his head between them. The woman stroked Caracallaâs hair all the while a feminine looking man took his cock in his mouth and down his throat.
Getaâs eyes only stayed on his brother for a moment before he went back to looking at you. He stroked his hands over your hair and admired you. He could not deny that his feelings had changed. Cupid had shot him with his arrow, and he was falling quickly. This was why Venus never made him get married earlier, much to his familyâs dismay. You were more than a slave to him. More than all the women in Rome. He wanted to rule Rome with you, forever and always.

2005
Getting a call from Marvel was something you never expected. Like many people, you grew up reading the comics and watching the tv shows. But now you had the chance of a lifetime. You were being offered a role in the first movie in the Marvel cinematic universe.
After having a meeting with the marvel executives and your manager, you were asked to keep the news of your casting a secret. The media was already wondering who was going to portray what heroes on the big screen and your name was being thrown around.
While your relationship was still a secret, you often visited Hugh on set of X-Men with Alex and Reese. You tried to keep your little family from the media as much a possible. You would watch Hugh get into his costume and do his stunts. You were always amazed at how much fun it would be to portray a superhero and now you were finally going to be able to.
A few months after you met with Marvel, you found out you were pregnant with your third baby. A girl. Thankfully you werenât set to film yet since the film was still in development. When it was finally time to film âIron Manâ, you were more than ready. Your kids were a bit older so they finally got to watch you beat up bad guys like their dad did.
It was during the filming of âIron Man 2â when your secret was finally revealed to the world. You didnât really know how it even happened . . . Your guess was that paparazzi somehow snuck in. Hugh was always careful when visiting you on set. Rumors were already circulating on the internet about a potential X-Men and Avengers team up. It didnât help that Hugh was sporting his signature Wolverine hair when he visited the set. At least the kids werenât with you.
âYou look much better than me,â Hugh looked at your costume. He couldnât stop staring, it was starting to make you weak in the knees. âat least you get comfortable suits. Remember the black suits from X-Men? The most uncomfortable shit ever.â
âThe kids thought you looked cool.â You reminded him.
âOkay, that makes me feel better.â
As you and Hugh talked, some paparazzi were secretly taking photos. All they could think about was how well they were going to get paid for the exclusive photos. The X-Men joining the mcu? That was big news!
When the photos were published on every magazine, you couldnât help but laugh. What a way to reveal your relationship. You definitely didnât want to share the news this way, but you also didnât want to lose your job.
âMaybe in a few years itâll come true. You, me, X-Men and the Avengers.â He told you, giving you your morning coffee. The kids were still sleeping so you and Hugh took advantage of the quiet morning. You set the magazine down on the table and drank the coffee.
âIt would be nice. Imagine what the kids will think. Mom and dad beating up the bad guys together,â you smiled at him. He took the opportunity to give you a kiss. As he pulled away, you whispered to him. âor it could be me kicking the wolverineâs ass.â
Your characters wouldnât share the screen until 2024 when Deadpool & Wolverine premiered. Your kids were more than excited to see their parents fighting together.

it felt like a fever dream.
Your thoughts were racing as you sat there staring at the positive pregnancy test. You never imagined that a casual fling with your boss, Gojo, would result in this. You were filled with a mix of emotions - fear, confusion, and excitement all at once. You knew you had to tell Gojo, but the thought of his reaction scared you.
Would he be angry? Would he want you to keep the baby? These questions filled your mind as you tried to figure out the best course of action. Ultimately, the decision was yours to make and you knew it wouldn't be an easy one.
"Fuck." Grabbing a piece of toilet paper, you wrapped the positive pregnancy test and shoved it inside your pant pockets.
Immediately washing your hand, you exited the restroom to face your dear friend and co-worker. With her back against the wall, you could see her biting her nails in anticipation.
You could tell she knew something was wrong, as she anxiously asked, "What's going on?"
Taking a deep breath, you slowly let out, "I'm pregnant." As the words sank in, you could see the shock and worry on your friend's face.
You knew this wasn't the ideal situation, but you also knew that you had a supportive friend by your side. Her eyes widened in shock, and she slowly began to walk towards you. She looked at you with a mix of surprise and concern, her mouth agape as she tried to process the news.
You could tell she was trying to find the right words to say, but in the end, all she could manage was a quiet, "Oh."
"I'm sorry, I can't believe this," she gasped, her eyes filled with worry.
"What are you going to do?" You shook your head, feeling overwhelmed and uncertain.
"I have no idea," you replied honestly. "I wasn't planning on this."
Your friend placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. "We'll figure it out together," she said with a reassuring smile. "You don't have to go through this alone." Grateful for her support, you took another deep breath and nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope amidst the fear and uncertainty. You began walking back towards the office while everyone was in lunch.
As an employee at the national elect industries estate that the Gojo's had owned, you were fortunate enough to work closely with Satoru Gojo, one of the most well-known and influential CEOs in all of Tokyo. Witnessing his leadership style first-hand, you found him to be an inspiring and motivating leader who always pushed his team to reach their full potential. Despite being just one of the many employees in the building, you felt valued and appreciated under Satoru Gojo's leadership. His positive and encouraging attitude made it a pleasure to work in the office and you always felt inspired after a conversation with him. It was an honor to be a part of the team.
Unfortunately everyone knew that Satoru was a sex hungry man. All he needed to do was just point at a woman and they would come running to him because everyone knew he was the most attractive man in the building. However, Satoru was not looking for love. He was focused on his career and was determined to be successful. No matter how many women tried to win his heart, he kept his eyes on the prize and refused to be distracted.
"Y/N." Seeing the tall white haired male you immediately grabbed the report you stayed up all night redoing.
Your heart raced as you walked towards him, clutching the report tightly in your hands. You could feel the sweat in your palms as you nervously approached the tall white-haired man. Despite your anxiety, you stood up straight and confidently handed over the report, hoping it would impress him.
You were relieved when he smiled at you, and you managed to smile back handing him the report you had worked so hard on all night.
"Here you go Mr. Gojo, I also decided to put the sales graph from last weeks advertisement," you said with a sense of accomplishment.
As he glanced through the report, you couldn't help but feel proud of your hard work.
You stood there, watching him walk away, you couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and regret. If only things were different, if only you could share the news of your pregnancy with him. But you knew it was better this way, to keep your distance and avoid any potential complications.
You couldn't help but wonder what his reaction would have been, and if his parents would have accepted you and your child. But ultimately, you knew that this was the best decision for everyone involved. With a heavy heart, you turned and walked away, knowing that your secret would remain just that - a secret.
Despite your admiration for Satoru, you couldn't help but feel inferior to him. Being considered a low life and not as successful as him only added to this feeling. Your dad owned a small restaurant down the street where the building was, while Satoru's family lived in a lavish mansion. You were just a commoner and Satoru was like a prince. You had grown up in a small town, and Satoru had grown up in a wealthy family.
The differences in class between the two of you were stark and you were constantly reminded of your social status. You knew that his family wouldn't approve of the two of you together, and deep down, you knew that your relationship was doomed from the start.
"We should go eat, it's on me since your eating for two." Grabbing your arm she held it, you both walked towards the lunch area where the food was at.
Seeing the rest of the workers in the building you wondered who else Satoru had sex with. Knowing you weren't the only one because he once had a long lasting hookup with one of his secretaries but once his dad found out he fired her.
You were feeling uneasy knowing Satoru's history with other women. He was a notorious playboy, always looking for a new conquest. You couldn't help but wonder what his true intentions were. He had always been kind to you, but that could easily change if he got bored.
Despite your doubts, you couldn't help but be drawn to him, his charisma and charm were hard to resist. But you also knew that getting involved with someone like him could lead to heartbreak and disappointment. It was a risky game to play, and you weren't sure if you were willing to take that chance.
"Y/N?" Tilting her head you could see that Utahime was waiting for you to come back to reality.
Nosing you sat down with her, feeling overwhelmed by the thought of raising this child alone. However, you knew that you were strong and capable, and you were determined to give your child the best life possible.
You looked into Utahime's eyes and saw a reflection of your own sadness. You knew that she was feeling your pain and loneliness, and that you were in this together. You sighed and steeled yourself for the difficult road ahead, but with Utahime by your side, you knew you could make it through.
"Can you order me a sandwich please? I'm too tired to go," you said, feeling exhausted from the long day.
With a nod, Utahime quickly got up and left you alone at the table. As you took out your phone, you hesitated before texting Satoru. You knew he had a right to know about the child.
Taking a deep breath, you type out a message to Satoru:
"I need to tell you something."
After sending the message, you lean back in your chair and wait. You feel a mixture of emotions and fear of how he will react. You immediately got a text back. Surprised to see that Satoru would reply to you during a meeting.
The message said:
"What is it? I'm in a meeting right now but I can talk later."
You took a deep breath, relieved that he isn't mad and that you can talk to him later. You respond with a short message:
"Well, if that's the case, we can talk later then."
This way, you can both have some time to calm down and approach the conversation with a cooler head. Plus, it's always better to discuss important matters in person rather than over text.
"Here," handing you the delicious sandwich you've been craving all day, you took a bite. As you bit into the sandwich, the flavor of the freshly baked bread and the savory combination of ingredients made your mouth water.
The juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and perfectly seasoned meat all came together in a burst of flavor that satisfied your hunger and left you wanting more. You couldn't help but savor each bite, enjoying every last morsel of this delectable sandwich.
"Mm! This is so good." Smiling she drank her coke gazing at you while you devoured the food like if you hadn't ate in weeks.
You were so focused on the food that you almost forgot about the conversation you two were having. You looked up and met her gaze, and you both shared a laugh. She said, "You really are enjoying that, aren't you?" You smiled and nodded, taking another bite.
"Mm... did you see that the secretary that Gojo supposedly had a thing with is back?" she asked you, pausing mid-bite.
"She's back...?" After nodding, you couldn't help but wonder why she returned.
The last thing you remembered was her getting completely humiliated by Satoru's father in front of the entire office.
"I heard supposedly he gave her a check of one million dollars to leave the boss alone. God I hate him." Utahime rolled her eyes, taking another sip of her drink.
You couldn't understand why Utahime harbored such strong dislike for Satoru. Maybe there was more to their relationship than meets the eye.
"Why do you hate him so much?" you asked her, curious. Utahime sighed and shook her head.
"It's not important," she said. "But I can't stand people who use their money to get away with anything. It's just not fair. It creates an unequal playing field and allows those with wealth to escape consequences for their actions, while others are held accountable. It perpetuates systemic inequality and injustice."
You could also agree with that, paying someone to leave their loved one is such a dick move. Before you knew it everyone was already finished with their lunch except for you and Utahime. You looked around the canteen and saw that everyone was watching you and Utahime, with some of them grinning and whispering to each other.
You felt a wave of embarrassment wash over you, and you quickly finished your lunch while Utahime still calmly ate her food.
"Let's go, I don't want to get in trouble," you whispered urgently to your friend.
You both stood up and quickly made your way back to the office where everyone else had gone to work. Utahime gave you a questioning look, but understanding the situation, she quickly followed you out of the canteen. You were careful to avoid contact with anyone as you walked back to the office, feeling like all eyes were on you.
As soon as you arrived, you quickly darted to your desk and started to work, trying to distract yourself from the embarrassment you felt. Despite your efforts, you couldn't shake off the feeling of being judged and the fear of getting in trouble for your actions.
You opened the first document and started typing, your fingers hitting the keys in a steady rhythm. However, as you continued typing, you realized that finishing the reports quickly would not solve the underlying issue that had been weighing on your mind.
You knew that you would still have to confront Satoru and address the problem head-on, no matter how much you wanted to escape from it. You took a deep breath and focused on completing the reports, determined to face the challenges ahead with a clear mind and a proactive attitude.
As much as you dreaded it, you knew it was unavoidable. You had been working late nights for weeks now and the stress was starting to take its toll. You felt exhausted and overwhelmed by the amount of work you had to do in such a short amount of time. You just wanted to take a break and relax, not have to deal with yet another deadline.
The pressure to come up with new ideas for the company to expand in the east coast was daunting and you were running out of creative energy.
You could say your position was important but it wasn't that much compared to what other people did. You wanted to be one of the members who would attend the meeting and present your own ideas without getting everything stolen from you. You had a role in the company, but your contributions were often overlooked or overshadowed.
You couldn't shake off the feeling of disappointment and frustration. Wanting to be able to make meaningful contributions to the team in meetings and have your ideas taken seriously, but you knew you were far from that, especially now that you were carrying his child.
You wondered if Satoru's family would also give you a check to disappear, to act like you never had anything with Gojo. It was a harsh reality to face, but you refused to let it stop you from achieving your goals and proving your worth.
You thought of all the different scenarios that could happen, you felt helpless. You had come to the office to gain experience and learn from the best. But now you were in a situation you hadn't anticipated and you didn't know how to handle it.
You wished you had someone to talk to and get advice from, but you knew none of your colleagues could understand what you were going through. You had feelings of insecurity and fear. You were scared of being judged and looked down on by Satoru's family and his colleagues.
You felt that you weren't good enough, and that you didn't have the skills or the knowledge to make meaningful contributions. You were worried that if you stayed, you would be seen as a burden and a nuisance, and that your ideas would be dismissed.
"Y/N, sir Gojo is requesting your presence in his office." You were startled by the voice of the secretary, who you had only heard about before. Her beauty was even more striking in person - her long black hair cascading down her back and her piercing green eyes seeming to see right through you. Her pale complexion and rosy lips added to her ethereal appearance.
"Yes," you replied, feeling a bit flustered by her beauty. You followed her down the hallway to Gojo's office, admiring her graceful walk. She opened the door and motioned for you to enter, giving you a gentle smile before she closed the door behind you.
Looking out the window Satoru had his hands in his pockets. Snapping his head towards the door when he saw you enter. He smiled before walking towards you. His tall figure hovering over you. You hadn't realized despite your height, Satoru was super tall. You stepped back in surprise, taken aback by his sudden proximity, and your eyes widened as you looked up into his face.
His kind eyes twinkling and his lips curling into a warm smile. For a moment, you were lost in the moment, unable to remember why you had come.
"What did you want to talk about?" asked Satoru as you walked into boss's office. Grabbing his remote, he clicked a button and the window blinds slowly descended, providing more privacy in the office. He sat down and motioned for you to do the same.
You waited patiently for the right words, as he wondered what could be so important that they needed privacy.
Your mind was racing with all the possible outcomes, but you couldn't bring yourself to speak. You fiddled with your hands, trying to calm your nerves, and felt the weight of the situation bearing down on you.
Would he support your decision? Would he be angry? Would he even want to be a part of this? The uncertainty and fear were almost suffocating. You mustered up the courage to meet his gaze, hoping for some sign of reassurance. But his expression remained stoic, leaving you to wonder what he was thinking.
You hesitated, unsure of what to say. You knew Satoru didn't love you, to him you were just a one night stand. But you couldn't keep living in doubt, you had to tell him the truth.
A one night stand that screwed up and didn't use a after pill. You knew that the next few words that were going to leave your mouth was going to devastate Gojo. Maybe even ruin his life. But still, you wanted to know the truth, no matter how much it hurt. You felt like you were caught between a rock and a hard place. Gojo was so kind to you and you had grown to care for him deeply.
But on the other hand, Satoru was the father of your unborn child. You were unsure of what to do and what would be the right thing for everyone involved. You felt helpless and scared.
Despite the fact that you wanted to tell Gojo the truth, you couldn't bring yourself to do it. You couldn't bear the thought of hurting him, knowing that the truth would have a devastating effect on him. You felt that it was better to keep him in the dark and live with the regret of your decision.
He was visibly anxious as he waited for you to explain the situation. His brow was furrowed and his mouth was set in a tight line. He clasped his hands together, as if in prayer, and waited for you to break the silence. Staring at him you could tell he was concerned as to why you weren't speaking.
His blue eyes stared back at you waiting for you to tell him the news. You were hesitant to tell him the truth, but you knew you had to. Taking a deep breath, you slowly began to explain the situation. You could feel your heart racing as you spoke, and you could tell his expression was slowly changing as he heard the news.
You took a deep breath and finally spoke, "I'm pregnant." Satoru's face turned to shock and then anger, "You're lying," he spat. You knew this was going to be difficult, but you had to do what was best for you and your child.
"Im not lying," You said back. He was speechless, his mind trying to process what he heard. He was frozen in place, not knowing what to say or do. He was in a state of disbelief, struggling to comprehend the news. Finally, he managed to speak, his voice barely above a whisper, "Are you sure?"
His heart was pounding in his chest, as he waited for the answer. He felt like the room was spinning, the world around him a blur. He was filled with fear and disbelief, as he tried to piece together what he had heard.
His heart raced as he waited for a response. He had never expected to hear this, and he felt a sudden wave of shock and confusion wash over him. He felt like he was stuck in a dream, unable to move or think clearly.
"Yes, here," you said, taking out the small piece of toilet paper and unwrapping it, revealing the positive pregnancy test. Satoru's eyes widened as he grabbed it, shock and disbelief washing over his face as he tried to process the news that would forever change his life.
He couldn't believe that he was going to be a father, and the thought of all the responsibilities and sacrifices that came with it was overwhelming.
His face fell and he stared at you in shock before his emotions turned to anger. "How could you be so careless? Do you know what this means?" he yelled.
You nodded, tears welling up in your eyes. You knew this was going to change everything and it was a difficult situation to be in. You couldn't help but feel guilty for causing this turmoil but you also knew that the truth had to come out.
With a heavy heart, you averted your gaze, unable to face the man in front of you. "I understand the gravity of this situation, and I know that I am not from the same social status as you. If you think it's best for me to leave and raise our child on my own, then I will do so."
He put a hand on his mouth before rubbing it on his chin. "Shit," he muttered.
You could tell he didn't want this pregnancy as much as you didn't want it. "But you took the morning after pill?" he questioned, staring right at you with concern in his eyes.
Despite his hesitation, you knew he would support you no matter what decision you made.
"I did," you lied, feeling a knot form in your stomach. "But it wasn't 100% effective." You both knew the risks, but neither of you expected it to happen.
âWhat do we do now?" you asked, looking at him for guidance.
"I don't know," he sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "Maybe we should consider all of our options." You knew what he meant, but you weren't sure if you were ready to make that decision.
"I'll arrange a meeting with my parents as soon as possible and we can discuss what we'll do then. But... how far along are you?" Gazing at Satoru, you could see the doubt and suspicion in his eyes.
He didn't trust you and it was understandable. You couldn't blame him for thinking you might be using this pregnancy to ruin his life. But deep down, you knew the truth - that you could possibly be carrying his child, and that thought alone scared you.
"I don't know what you think of me, Satoru, but I'm not here to ruin your life," you said.
"I'm not sure how far along I am, but I do know that I'm pregnant, and that's why I'm here. I'm not trying to pressure you into anything, I just wanted you to know the truth and I thought it would be better to do this in person."
âDespite the potential challenges and complications, I am committed to taking responsibility for my pregnancy and raising our child. I understand that this may not have been part of our plans, but I believe we can work something out.â Satoru looked at you with a mix of shock and confusion.
He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He just stared at you in disbelief, not knowing what to say. Finally, he managed to stutter out a few words. "Are you sure you want to keep it?â
"Yes i am, if you want me to I will raise this child but I need you to be here. My kid, our kid. Its not going to live without a father." Satoru could see the determination in your eyes. Clenching your fists you wanted for his answer in anticipation
He sighed and ran his hand through his hair before turning to you. His eyes were heavy with emotion as he finally spoke.
"Yes, I'll stay. I promise. I'll be here for us and for our child." He got up and reached out, taking your hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze.
It was a difficult decision, but you knew that the potential benefits for the child far outweighed the risk of getting your heart broken. You were determined to make sure that Satoru saw the potential of being a father and the positive impact he could have on the child's life.
You were willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that this child had a loving and involved father figure, even if it meant facing rejection or heartache. In the end, the well-being and happiness of the child was your top priority.
"For now I want you to stay here until I'm done with my last meeting then we can head out and go to my parents mansion." You knew how much it meant for his parents to know about this. To be honest, you were so fucking scared right now.
You knew that this was not going to be easy, not just because of the child growing inside you, but because of the potential backlash from Satoru's parents. You were fully aware of the cultural and societal differences between your backgrounds and how it could be perceived by his family. Despite your fears and concerns, you nodded and agreed to his request, determined to make it work and put on a brave face. With a deep breath, you tried to calm your nerves and prepare yourself for the challenges ahead.
Closing the door behind him just like that Satoru went to another meeting leaving you with your thoughts. While you were grappling with these thoughts, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and guilt. The image of Satoru with his secretary kept replaying in your mind, making you question your own feelings and actions.
Would it be right to sabotage their relationship for your own selfish desires? These moral dilemmas left you feeling conflicted and unsure of how to proceed. As you sat alone in the office, you couldn't help but wonder if things would ever be the same between you and Satoru.
You felt a pang of guilt and sadness as you tried to push away the thought and focus on the task at hand. Closing your eyes you decided to lay down on the small sofa that Satoru had in his office.
Putting a hand on top of your stomach you couldn't really feel anything. You knew you were at least a few weeks pregnant. You stayed in that position for a few minutes, feeling the warmth of the sunrays coming through the window and calming your body. You felt safe and secure and couldn't help but smile, as you thought about the life that was growing inside of you.
You stayed there, eyes closed, feeling the warmth of the sun and the comfort of the sofa, as your mind wandered through the possibilities of the future. You just wanted to savor the moment, to make sure you could remember it forever. You had taken the pregnancy test several times, but it was still hard to believe that you were actually going to have a baby.
You had so many questions - you were wondering if the baby was the size of a bean or if it was even smaller than that. You were filled with a mix of emotions - from excitement to fear. You were going to become a mom. Wondering how you were going to explain to your father that you got pregnant by your bosses you couldn't help but let out a sigh. You knew things were going to get more complicated now.
You had always been taught to do the right thing and you knew this was the wrong thing to do. You wanted to do the right thing and take responsibility for your actions but you were afraid of what your father's reaction would be. He had always been so strict and you knew he wouldn't approve of this situation. You felt so helpless and confused.
You were already in a difficult situation, having to work for a man that you felt attracted to and now being pregnant with his child. You felt lost as to how you were going to explain this to your father. What would he think of you? How would you even begin to explain what had happened?
âOh yeah dad! I thought my boss was super hot and I slept with him and guess what? I'm pregnant!â Sarcastically you let out another sigh. You really screwed up this time. You shook your head and let out a deep sigh. You had just been telling your father about the problems you were having at work, and now this. You knew your dad was going to be disappointed in you. You could already hear the lecture he was going to give you.
However, you knew that you had to take responsibility for your actions and face the consequences. You hoped that your father would understand and support you, but you also knew that you needed to learn from this mistake and make better choices in the future.
You couldn't even tell your mother because she had died when you were born. Never being able to be raised with a mother figure you were all alone im this situation. You covered your face with your arm. Trying your best to forget about everything and just go to sleep.
Maybe a nap would help you process everything and get you in a better mood. You had so much on your mind and felt so alone. You had no one to talk to, no one to turn to. You wanted someone to just listen, someone who could understand what you were going through and be there for you. But there was no one, and you had to find a way to cope with your emotions on your own.
"How long was I out?" you groaned as you rubbed your eyes, still trying to wake up.
You were surprised to see Satoru standing there, wearing his casual black glasses and with his suitcase next to him. It was clear that everyone had already left the building and it was just the two of you. "Did I oversleep?" you asked.
With a deep sigh, you slowly stood up from the comfortable embrace of the sofa. You felt a dull ache throughout your body, as if you had been in the same position for hours. You reached up and rubbed your forehead, trying to ease the tension. Taking a deep breath, you rubbed one of your eyes with your other hand, blinking away the sleepiness.
Realizing that you must have been asleep for a while. Satoru replied , "Not too long, just a couple of hours. You looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake you up." You were grateful for his thoughtfulness and couldn't help but smile back at him.
âYou were asleep for three hours." Helping you up Satoru offered his hand. Taking it you thanked him silently before taking all of your stuff and leaving his office.
You checked the time on your phone and realized it was already past midnight. You had slept for the past three hours while Satoru was patiently watching you from his chair. You were embarrassed but grateful for his understanding and kindness. You thanked him as you gathered your things and made your way out of his office.
You walked outside into the parking lot, as you sat inside the luxurious Mercedes Benz, you couldn't help but feel a little out of place. Satoru barely acknowledged your presence as he started the car and drove towards his parents' mansion. It was clear that he was more focused on his own comfort and status, rather than making you feel welcome. Despite the extravagant surroundings, you couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.
You took out your phone, your fingers gently tapping on the screen trying to send a text to your dad. Letting him know you might come home later than usual as you were going to meet Satorus parents. As you typed out the message, you couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. You couldn't resist the curiosity and ended up searching for Satoru's lover on Instagram. You typed her name into the search bar multiple times until you finally found her profile. As you clicked on it, you discovered that her name was "Asami Oba."
As you scrolled through her photos, you couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. She seemed to have a perfect life - traveling to exotic locations, attending luxurious events, and surrounded by beautiful people. You couldn't believe Satoru was dating someone like her. It made you question your own self-worth and wonder what he saw in her that he didn't see in you. Despite your best efforts, you couldn't help but continue scrolling through her profile, torturing yourself with images of their seemingly happy relationship.
However, it still bothered you to see the pictures of Asami and Satoru together. You couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal, even though you knew she had nothing to do with the reason why he slept with you. It was a constant reminder that you were the other woman, and that their relationship was still going strong while you were left to deal with the aftermath. It made your stomach turn every time you saw one of their pictures with a caption that said "with my love."
The picture that stood out the most was undoubtedly the one featuring them in the Eiffel Tower. The breathtaking view of the iconic landmark served as a backdrop, capturing their joy and creating a lasting memory of their trip to Paris.
As you watched Satoru lost in his thoughts, you couldn't help but wonder about the consequences that would arise once his lover discovered the truth about your pregnancy. The situation seemed to hang in the air, heavy with uncertainty and potential conflict.
What felt like forever finally had come to an end, you couldn't help but feel out of place as you stepped out of the car. The house was even more luxurious than you had imagined, the expensive cars and perfectly manicured lawns. Satoru's parents were known for their wealth and you couldn't shake off the feeling that you didn't belong there. You knew Satoru's parents were going to judge you for not dressing more formally, but you were too exhausted from work to change.
"Listen Y/N," he said before ringing the doorbell. His expression suddenly changed, as if a wave of desperation had washed over him. His eyes were pleading, his hands trembling.
"I'm warning you my family is very old fashioned," licking his lips, that's all he said before ringing the doorbell.
You could practically hear your heartbeat, feeling as if your heart was going to jump out of your body. As you nervously waited for the door to open, you couldn't help but wonder what kind of traditional customs and expectations his family might have. Would they approve of your relationship? Would they expect you to conform to their beliefs? The unknown made your stomach churn with anxiety.
As the door swung open, a small click sound could be heard. A man, who looked identical to Satoru but slightly older, stood in the doorway. He quickly glanced at his son before his eyes landed on you. Raising an eyebrow, he muttered a few words under his breath, "Oh god, your mother is going to be ballistic."
"Father, please." pleaded Satoru as he held onto your hand, almost crushing.
"Please come in, it's a pleasure to meet you. My wife is in the living room, so please have a seat there." Said Satoru's father, gesturing towards the living room. He was a tall and imposing man, his deep voice echoing through the spacious hallway. You couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated as you followed him inside.
The intricate details, luxurious furnishings, and spacious layout of the Gojo mansion left you in awe. It was everything you would expect from a wealthy family's home. As you walked through the halls, admiring the lavish decor and elegant architecture, you couldn't help but utter a soft "Wow" under your breath. While you may have seen similar houses before, there was something about the design of this one that was truly impeccable and breathtaking.
As you sat on the silky white couch, you were met with Satoru's mother's gaze. It was intense and piercing, making you feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. She seemed to be silently judging you, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and inadequacy under her scrutiny. You shifted nervously, unsure of how to react or what to say to break the tension.
"What's your name?" her strong voice practically echoed. Despite her age, she was still stunning, with striking features and an air of elegance.
"Y/N, it's lovely to meet you, Mrs. Gojo." You replied with a warm smile, trying to make her feel welcome and at ease.
"So, what business do you have with my son?" she asked, her tone icy and unwelcoming. "To be more specific, what do you want from him?" Her sharp gaze bore into you, daring you to give her an answer she didn't want to hear.
"Mom," he said, avoiding eye contact with his mother. "She's pregnant and the child is mine." Her gaze softened as she laid her eyes on Satoru, her future grandchild. She could see the worry and fear in her son's eyes.
"Are you sure it's your child?" She questioned, looking you up and down before sighing. Her disbelief was evident as she struggled to accept the news. Doubt and confusion filled her mind, unsure of how to react to this unexpected information. She took a deep breath before finally asking, "How can you be sure?"
"I'm not convinced that you are the father," she questioned, eyeing you up and down before letting out a sigh.
"Mom, she's the only woman I've slept with in a while. Please," he pleaded.
"Do you have anything to say to that?" she asked, her eyes fixed on Satoru's father who wore a disappointed expression. His son had made a mistake and it was clear that he was struggling to come to terms with it. The weight of his words hung heavy in the air, and it was clear that he had nothing to say in response.
"As long as it wasn't Asami," he said, your heart broke at the mention of his lover's name.
"I totally forgot about that girl," said his mother, chuckling at the memory of her. "She was so pretty, but unfortunately her background was not so great."
The atmosphere in the room changed as soon as her name was mentioned, satoru shifted his weight uncomfortably and it was clear that her presence had a profound effect on him. He couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt and longing when her name was brought up.
Memories of their time together flooded his mind, causing him to nervously bite his lip. He knew he should move on, but the thought of her still had a hold on him.
"Well since you two are over here fucking and populating the earth like little bunnies, it's time for you to take responsibility for your actions," she said sternly as she interlocked her hands together. "I want you two to get married and commit to raising this child together." Her tone was serious and determined as she laid out her expectations for the young couple.
"Mother, I don't even know her that well, let alone love her," you side eyed Satory, seeing his eyes widen at the mention of marriage. You could tell he was visibly frustrated and not ready for such a commitment. It was clear that he needed more time to get to know this person before even considering marriage.
"You know her well enough to have sex with her, please Satoru, you're grown now." Shaking her head, she got up, "and I expect the marriage to be soon. Don't you know how ruined your reputation would be if they found out you got some lowlife pregnant?" she yelled.
"But Mother," Satoru pleaded, "I don't think I'm ready for marriage yet." His mother's face softened as she let out a sigh.
"I know, but it's important for our family's reputation. You know how strict society can be with these things." Satoru hung his head, knowing that he couldn't argue with his mother's logic.
This turn of events was completely unexpected for you. Marriage was never a part of your plans, and you never would have imagined that his mother would actually want you to marry her son instead of getting rid of you.
"I want you to be moved in his house by tomorrow," She said, her voice filled with anger as she glared at you. Satoru's father stood up and gently grabbed his wife's shoulders, trying to calm her down.
"Let's go now, you know how you get with these things," He said, leading her away from the situation. It was clear that their heated argument was not something to be taken lightly.
You couldn't believe how quickly she had dismissed you and Satoru from her house. Your mind was racing with questions and confusion from the confrontation you had just witnessed.
Satoru held his head low, not wanting to look at you anymore. "Fuck," he mutterd between his breath. Satoru's expression was cold and distant, and you couldn't help but feel a pang of fear. You knew he was capable of hurting you, and it seemed like he was about to.
"Gojo," You said timidly, hoping to break through to him. But before you could finish, he roughly pushed you towards the car. You stumbled, your heart racing as you realized that you were completely at his mercy.
"What did I do wrong?" you asked, tears welling up in your eyes.
"Why did you have to get pregnant and not her?" He spat at your face, and you couldn't help but feel like it was somehow your fault. Despite the hormones coursing through your body, you couldn't hold back the tears any longer and you broke down in sobs.
You stood there, stunned by his words. You couldn't believe he would say something like that, especially when you were carrying his child. The tears welled up in your eyes, and you didn't know if it was the hormones or if it was just you feeling completely overwhelmed and hurt by his words. How could he be so heartless and insensitive?
"I didn't think this would happen..." You replied, your voice trembling with nervousness. You couldn't believe that this was actually happening. You couldn't even bring yourself to look at him, your gaze dropping to the floor. Your stomach was in knots and you couldn't help but swallow nervously, unsure of what to do or say next.
"Fuck!" He yelled, frustration evident in his voice as he passed his hand through his hair in exasperation.
"What the hell am I supposed to do now?" He yelled, frustration evident in his voice as he ran his hand through his hair in exasperation.
"Gojo, please." You pleaded, desperately clinging to his arm. But he forcefully pushed you away, his expression hard and unyielding. It was clear he did not want to be bothered, and you could feel your heart sinking with each step he took away from you.
"Get in the car Y/N," he said urgently, "I'm taking you home with me. I'll ask someone to get your things." Your heart dropped at his words. You knew you weren't even allowed to go home, to see your father. The thought of leaving him alone by himself was almost too much to bear.
"But Satoru, my father," you said, protesting as you opened the car door and sat inside. You were hesitant to leave without saying goodbye to your father, but Satoru urged you to hurry as the car started to pull away from his parents house.
"I don't care about your father, you're my soon-to-be wife. You will listen to me, Y/n." His eyebrows furrowed, he sped up.
You looked away and just stared at the window. Watching as you passed by buildings. The moon had come out, shinning down on you. You wondered if maybe life would be better if you got to be the moon - free to shine and roam the sky without anyone trying to control or dictate your every move. But the reality was that you were stuck in this car, with a person who didn't value your thoughts or feelings. You wished you could escape, but you knew that marrying him would only trap you further.
It seemed so peaceful and distant, away from all the conflict and tension happening in your relationship. You couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy towards the moon, longing for its serenity. But as you looked back at your fiancĂŠ's angry expression, you knew you couldn't escape your reality. You were stuck in this tumultuous relationship, always having to put his needs and desires above your own.
"But can I still see him?" You asked, your voice trembling with worry. Satoru let out an exasperated sigh, feeling frustrated with the endless stream of questions you had. "Yes, you can still see him," he reassured you, hoping to ease your concerns.
As you sat there, deep in thought, you couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Was this truly the right decision for you and your unborn child? The weight of responsibility and sacrifice weighed heavily on your mind. You knew that this child would inevitably cost you everything - your freedom, your happiness, and possibly even your own self. Yet, you couldn't bring yourself to speak up and go against Satoru's family wishes. You were trapped in a situation that seemed to have no good outcome.
You anxiously bit your lip, dreading the thought of having to meet new people and make new friends. There was also the added uncertainty of whether or not you would still be working for your fiancĂŠe once you moved.
Not to mention the press and newspaper would get ahold of this new engagement. The Gojo's were almost treated as royalty here.
"Do you want to stop for food?" he asked, quickly checking on you before focusing back on the road.
"No."
"What about the baby?" he said, raising an eyebrow as he slowly put his hand on your stomach. "Our baby needs to eat too, Y/N."
You licked your lips proceeding to ask him if he could stop by a nearby fast food or just anything at this point. The last thing you ate was the sandwich during lunch. He began driving towards the nearest place that sold Onigiri. To be completely honest you didnt have much friends beside utahime.
You were the last remaining original member of your team, and it was lonely at times. You missed the camaraderie and inside jokes that you shared with your former coworkers. But you were grateful for Utahime's friendship. Asami had joined two years ago. However, things changed when they discovered Satoru and Asami's affair almost a year ago.
It seemed odd that she would come back after everything that had happened. Was she truly that deeply in love with Satoru that she couldn't bear to be separated from him? Or was there another motive behind her return? It was hard to shake the feeling that something was not quite right.
You grabbed your phone once again only to be surprised to see so many people had followed you on social media. Confused you clicked on the news article that was labeled "Has the CEO of Berkshire found a new woman?"
You couldn't believe it - the news was spreading like wildfire. You had never expected your life to change so drastically after just one night out with Satoru. As you scrolled through your notifications, you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed and a little scared of the attention. You knew that this new attention could bring both positives and negatives, but you weren't quite sure how to handle it all.
"Satoru, there are already articles written about us." He parked outside the small restaurant.
Getting out he asked before leaving, "What do you want from here?" I'm not sure if it's worth the risk to go inside." Satoru hesitated, knowing that any action they took could potentially land them in even more scandals.
"Can you get me an umeboshi onigiri please?" He closed the door and walked towards the restaurant, leaving you alone in the car. You quickly dialed your father, hoping he could bring you an umeboshi onigiri as well.
"Hello Y/N? are you there?â
"Dad, I'm sorry for not answering your calls. I might not be able to come home today as I'm stuck doing paperwork at work. Please don't wait up for me, I don't want you to stay up too late." You could hear the relief in his voice as he responded to your message. It was important for you to let him know what was going on and reassure him that you were okay.
"Okay sweetie, just please let me know if you need anything," you said with a sigh as you said your goodbyes. Turning off your phone, you couldn't help but feel helpless, knowing that there was nothing more you could do to help.
Your mind was filled with a mix of emotions and insecurities as you read the comments on the Instagram posts of you and Satoru. You couldn't help but wonder what people were saying about you and if they were judging you based on your appearance. You looked around nervously, hoping to see Satoru inside. Thankfully, he was still standing in the restaurant, talking on the phone.
As you clicked through the comments, you couldn't help but feel hurt and disappointed by the harsh and derogatory words directed towards you.
"Shes way prettier than the other girl!"
"she looks like a commoner..."
"What a skank!"
You could already feel the fatigue and discomfort that came with being pregnant, and you weren't even showing yet. The thought of carrying a child for nine months and then going through childbirth was daunting and overwhelming.
Satoru came back with two onigiris, handing you one and keeping the other for himself. You quickly ate it, not caring if he judged you for having no manners in front of him. After all, you were too hungry to worry about etiquette.
"We're almost home yet so dont worry, I can ask my maid to make you something if you'd like."
"No thanks." you replied just wanting to go and sleep already.
The stars were shining brightly in the sky, and the moon illuminated your path as you made your way home. The cool air was refreshing after a long day, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for the peacefulness of the night. As you drove, your mind drifted to the events of the day and you couldn't help but feel a sense of exhaustion creeping over you. But the thought of finally being home, in the comfort of your own bed, kept you going. You leaned your head back against the headrest and let the darkness of sleep overtake you.
"Geto, did you hear what I said?" All Satoru could hear from the other line was laughter, making him feel frustrated and unheard. Despite his repeated attempts to communicate, it seemed like his words were falling on deaf ears. He wondered if Geto was really taking him seriously or not.
"No way," exclaimed Geto, who was currently at a business party on the other side of the world. "You got her pregnant? Talk about a major backfire!" He chuckled, amused by his friend's predicament.
He was about to ask for her number when his best friend called, desperate for his attention. Though he wanted to continue flirting with the hot chick, he reluctantly answered his friend's call.
"And now we have to get married," shaking his head, Satoru picked you up from the seat. His maid had helped him open the door to his house, and he was grateful for his strength.
"Hey man, I told you to just have a one-night stand with her, not to get her pregnant and marry her." Geto said in the other line, he picked up a pen and wrote down his number in the napkin handing it to the cute bartender.
" What about Asami? Isn't she the love of your life?" he asked teasingly, giving him a playful tone. âHave you told her yet?"
He slowly placed you on his bed, his gaze never leaving you. "Can you change her into something more comfortable?" he asked his maid, who nodded before closing the door behind her.
"I haven't told Asami," Satoru admitted. "She's still insisting we get back together." He grabbed a beer from his refrigerator and took off the cap with a small pop before taking a sip.
"But I don't think it's a good idea. We've been through this before and it never ends well." Satoru sighed, knowing that his decision would only lead to more tension and arguments with Asami. But he also knew that it was the right thing to do for both of them.
"I would pay to see her reaction, she's probably going to go crazy." With a sly smirk, Geto had already entered the bartender's contact information into his phone.
Satoru laughed and took a sip of his drink. "I know, but that's what makes her so irresistible," he replied with a grin.
"Besides, I like a little bit of crazy in my life." He uncrossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. "You should try it sometime."
Geto chuckled and raised his glass in agreement. "Maybe someday, but for now I'll stick to watching your crazy love life from the sidelines."
"Maybe next time I suggest using condoms," he began, but his laughter interrupted him once again. "Man, you're so screwed. I just know your old lady had a tantrum." His words were met with a bit of amusement.
"What about you and Shoko, huh?" Satoru asked, taking off his shirt and laying down on his couch with a beer in hand.
"You guys have been spending a lot of time together lately." His tone was teasing, but there was a hint of curiosity in his voice.
"It's complicated," said Geto who was practically eye-fucking the bartender on the other end of the phone. The tension between them was palpable, and their relationship was anything but simple.
"Complicated my ass," he thought as he took a sip from his cold beer and smiled. "I bet you're already thinking of having sex with someone else."
âAnd youâre absolutely right.â With a smirk Geto made his way to her. Satoru was able to hear his whole conversation start to finish.
âYou know what iâll call you later, you have fun.â Satoru took one last sip of his beer before going to the restroom to shower. He turned off his phone and threw it on the sink before undressing himself.
He regretted the night it happened and wished he could take it back. The thought of you now made him cringe, and he couldn't wait to move on and forget about it. He didn't think he could ever find anything about you interesting, and he just wanted to forget the whole thing ever happened.
He couldn't believe his luck - or rather, his misfortune - when he found out that his arranged marriage was to be with someone he barely knew. He couldn't help but compare this stranger to Asami, the woman who held his heart. He couldn't shake off the feeling that this marriage was a mistake, and that he would never be truly happy with anyone other than Asami. But now, he was stuck with this random person who worked for him, pretending to be his wife. He couldn't help but wonder if he had made the wrong choice in agreeing to this marriage.
Despite the intense attraction he felt towards Asami, he couldn't deny that their relationship was tumultuous and unpredictable. There were moments where she seemed to understand him better than he understood himself, but there were also times when she drove him to the brink of insanity. Even now, he couldn't shake the memories of their secret rendezvous, the adrenaline-fueled sex that still haunted his dreams. But as thought of you, his heart aches with regret, wishing that he had chosen Asami instead of you, hoping that he could have created a family with her instead.
His mind would just wander off to when he would have Asami all to himself - skin to skin, after sharing a passionate night together. The way her hair would stick to her face when he was so close to cumming inside her drove him wild. He couldn't wait to have her all to himself again, without any distractions or interruptions.
"Shit," he muttered under his breath, feeling his body react to the thought of her naked form pressed against his. The anticipation and desire grew, making him hard and unable to focus on anything else. He couldn't wait to have her in his arms and fulfill every fantasy he had been imagining.
He grabbed shampoo and shoved it all over his face, rubbing his face before rinsing it off. He grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his torso. He grabbed his toothbrush and started brushing his teeth vigorously. After rinsing his mouth, he quickly dried off and went to his room.
Opening the door, he was met with your peaceful sleeping figure, dressed in shorts and a big t-shirt. He couldn't help but smile at how adorable you looked. As he changed into his pajamas, he couldn't help but feel a bit regret on treating you so hurtful.
He felt a pang of loneliness as he snuggled up to you, his fiancĂŠe, and not the person he truly desired. He could feel your warmth and smell your familiar scent, but it only intensified his longing for someone else. As he whispered goodnight, he couldn't help but imagine it was his lover in his arms instead.
"Goodnight Asami," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Despite the fact that you were wide awake, Satoru cuddled up to you and drifted off to sleep. You could hear his deep breathing before you bit your lip and silently let tears fall down your cheeks. It hurt to know that he couldn't even say your name.

The Lion in the Jungle Shows No Shame
summary: you go into labour
warnings: some minor mention of contractions but thatâs it
a/n: rich!reader is me; not the rich part, but the so over everyone part
word count: 1.7k
-
The boardroom at the training ground is frigid, an oppressive sort of sterile, painted in a corporate beige so calculatedly devoid of warmth it borders on offensive. The colour has clearly been chosen by a committee, signed off by no less than five department heads, all with the express goal of sapping any ounce of levity from the room. The walls bear only the clubâs logo in gleaming gold, catching the light like a freshly polished trophy, austere and daunting. Youâre seated at the head of the table in a chair meant to look sleek and modern but which youâve always thought resembles a throne, albeit a minimalist, joyless one. You take pride in this spot, preferring the vantage point of a monarch observing her court, where each word, each glance can be read as an unspoken directive. A panel of finance officers sits to your left, expressionless and obedient, while the marketing strategists and department heads to your right wait, perched on the edge of their seats, eager to impress, or perhaps, not be dismissed. Youâve made your mind up on all of their fates already, but they donât need to know that.
You sit back, legs crossed, and let your gaze drift to the person currently holding courtâa sponsorship officer droning on about a potential partnership with an energy drink. The whole affair is tedious, but you feign interest, allowing only a flicker of annoyance to register as you twist the cap of your Montblanc in slow, deliberate turns, a small, repetitive comfort amidst the boredom. The sponsorship officer is yammering on about margins and high-profile market share. You nod, keeping your expression intentionally neutral, a carefully cultivated mask of polite detachment.
Nine months pregnant isnât ideal, but that doesnât mean anyone gets a pass. If youâre still here, they have no excuse for underperforming. Youâve kept every meeting, every review, every grueling evaluation on schedule, so thereâs no room for them to slip up. Your presence is a reminder that leadership doesnât come with compromises or concessionsânot even now. Alexia might have opinions about it, but she knows better than to question your commitment. At least, thatâs what you tell yourself.
Then, thereâs a twingeâa faint prickling in your lower back. You tell yourself itâs nothing, just the sort of trivial discomfort youâve brushed off for weeks now. You shift slightly, adjusting in your seat. Subtle, hardly noticeable. But someoneâsome unfortunate junior in marketing, possibly fresh out of his MBA programme and clearly untrained in discretionâglances over. He catches it, the flicker of discomfort. Thereâs the faintest suggestion of concern on his face, a furrowed brow, a hesitant question half-formed before he thinks better of it.
Good.
You meet his gaze and reward him with a smileâhalf genuine, mostly a warning. He gulps, as if heâs swallowed something sharp, and turns his attention back to his notes.
Then the pain intensifies, sharper this time. It tightens low and fierce, radiating like an overstretched muscle, and you have to will your expression to remain steady, blank, entirely unaffected. Your eyes fixate on the PowerPoint slide, as if by staring hard enough you can dissolve the discomfort into the soulless white glow of the projector. But no, itâs there, settling in like an uninvited guest who intends to stay.
The marketing intern glances up again. This time, he actually manages a look of pity. Heâs hardly subtle about it. You almost laughâalmostâexcept the contraction twists hard enough to force you to hold your breath, and your fingers press a touch too hard against the table.
The finance officer drones on, oblivious, his voice a steady monotone against the quiet hum of the air conditioning. Someone in the corner clears their throat. The sound cuts through the room like a scalpel.
âMaâam,â he says, hesitant, looking anywhere but at you. âIf youâd like to take a breakââ
You wave him off with a flick of your wrist. âIâm perfectly fine. Letâs keep this moving, please.â Your words are clipped, precise, the kind that leave no room for doubt. You feel the weight of the roomâs collective discomfort settle around you, like fog gathering, thick and stifling. The intern looks at you again, wide-eyed, uncertain, and you catch his gaze with a look so cold he almost recoils.
âOf course,â he mumbles, fumbling with his laptop, frantically tapping keys as if the sheer speed of his typing will save him from your wrath.
The next contraction slams into you with a ferocity that makes your breath hitch. A sharper, hotter pain spirals down your spine, and you grip the edge of the table, harder this time. The finance officer is rambling about revenue share and high-growth potential, but his words are disintegrating, merging into the mechanical hum of the fluorescent lights overhead, until theyâre nothing but a dull, meaningless drone.
âMaâam?â The intern speaks again, tentatively. âAre you sure youâre⌠alright?â
You turn to him with a look that could shatter glass. âDo I look unwell to you?â
His face drains of colour. âNo, of course not,â he stammers. âJust⌠checkingâ
There it is again, that shift. Itâs slight but palpable, a crack in the air. Power slipping. The assistant to your left, normally so silent and obedient, dares to glance your way with what might be concern. Another staffer coughs, hiding his expression in a notebook, though you can see his eyes darting nervously across the table. Theyâre all shifting now, uncomfortable, glancing at each other in a silent exchange, a web of tension growing thicker with each stolen glance.
You grit your teeth, willing the pain to dissipate, willing them all to get back to their work and stopâjust stop looking at you like youâre some fragile artefact about to shatter.
Then, your assistant, Julian, a man so dependable youâd have trusted him with your life savings, makes the first move. He stands, smoothing his tie, clearing his throat in a way thatâs maddeningly self-assured. âI think we need to get someone,â he says, his voice gentle but insistent, like a fatherly reprimand. âJust⌠in caseâ
Your eyes narrow into slits. âSit down,â you say, your voice a low, dangerous murmur. âNowâ
He hesitates, and the silence stretches, taut as a wire. Then, inexplicably, he defies you. âIâm calling Alexia,â he says. His voice is barely above a whisper, but it cuts through the silence like a blade.
The shock is visceral, immediate. You can feel it rippling through the room, see it in the furtive glances darting across the table. You, the unassailable chief, suddenly vulnerable, and worse, defied. You hear murmurs, soft but unmissable, as if theyâre collectively holding their breath, waiting for you to explode.
Alexia. Coming here. The idea sends a fresh wave of mortification rolling through you, sharper and hotter than any contraction. Alexia, with her bluntness, her inability to mince words. Sheâll walk in here, sheâll see you, and sheâll say exactly what sheâs thinking, in front of everyone.
The finance officer clears his throat again, shifting uncomfortably in his chair. âMaybe we should⌠reconvene another time?â He avoids your gaze, wisely. His voice is tentative, as though heâs testing the air for danger.
âAbsolutely not,â you bite out, voice like ice. âWeâre finishing this meeting. Right nowâ
But itâs too late. The tension is too thick, the unease in the room too palpable to ignore. You can feel their eyes on you, hesitant, searching, a quiet mutiny blooming under their skin, as though youâre something fragile, a rare beast they donât quite know how to handle. You grip the edge of the table again, willing the pain to subside, to vanish, anything to regain control of the situation.
Then, the door swings open, and there she is: Alexia, in her training kit, her hair damp with sweat, her eyes blazing with a fury so palpable it sends a ripple of shock through the room. She locks eyes with you, her expression a lethal blend of exasperation and concern. The silence deepens, everyone watching with barely concealed curiosity.
âYouâre still here,â she says, each word clipped and loaded, a statement more than a question. It lands like a slap.
You force a smile, though itâs tight and strained. âIâm fineâ
She sweeps a gaze across the room, her eyes taking in the faces of your subordinates, each one frozen in various states of unease and fascination. When she looks back at you, her expression is a mix of incredulity and⌠pity. She almost smirks, as if to say, Look at you now.
âYouâre in labour,â she says, loud enough for everyone to hear, her voice filled with a quiet, unmistakable fury. âAnd youâre⌠what? Leading a meeting?â
You can feel the weight of their stares, the barely-concealed smirks, the disbelief. You, their fearless leader, brought low, bossed around by your own spouse in front of them. You can already hear the whispers, the knowing chuckles that will ripple through the ranks for weeks, the stories that will morph and grow.
âI really donât think this is necessary,â you manage, but your voice is weak, a mere shadow of its usual authority.
âNecessary?â Alexia repeats, crossing her arms. âYou think itâs not necessary to go to the hospital when youâre about to give birth?â
Someone stifles a laughâan intern, no less. You shoot him a look that promises retribution, but itâs lost amidst the pain that surges again, more intense, unrelenting. Then, Alexiaâs arm is around you, firm yet gentle, steering you toward the door with a resolve thatâs unyielding.
You give one last, desperate protest. âThereâs no need to make a fuss. Really, Iââ
âEnough,â she says, and her voice is a balm, a force, something that both steadies and infuriates you. Her arm around you is warm, grounding, and for a moment, your frustration melts, replaced by something softer, something you wonât allow yourself to name.
As Alexia guides you out, you catch a final glimpse of the boardroom, your staff looking back at you with expressions ranging from bemused pity to unspoken amusement. You know, with chilling certainty, that this will be the story of the month, if not the year. But with Alexiaâs arm wrapped around you, her presence beside you, that irritation begins to fade.
The door closes, sealing you from their whispers, from their smirks. Just this once, you let it go.

âFIDELITYâ |part8
MASTERLIST -`âŽÂ´- Rafe Cameron x Kook!Reader x JJ Maybank
Summary: Kook!Readerâs world is upended by betrayal, and her only way forward might lie with the most unlikely personâJJ Maybank. But as they build a new life together, old flames and past mistakes refuse to stay buried.
Warnings: slut shaming(?)
previous - next
Could you really call yourself an adult now?
I mean, honestly, is there some magical age that makes you a certified grown-up?
If itâs all about age, then nopeâyou werenât an adult. Maybe a âyoung adultâ at best, but even then, the life you were living? Letâs just say it was⌠a bit different.
When everything started happening so quickly, keeping up felt impossible. And letâs face it, that was normal. If you managed to juggle everything with calm composure, youâd probably qualify as Wonder Woman. Life came with its ups and downs, but throw pregnancy symptoms into the mix, and things got extra tricky.
You liked to share what you wanted with others. Talking about your plans openly was just how you were. It wasnât about bragging; you just enjoyed sharing your happiness. But every single timeâwithout failâwhatever you talked about? It never happened.
That Venice trip youâd been set on for the summer? Canceled.
The dream university? Rejected. That car you were this close to buying? Nope, didnât happen.
It was like clockwork. Every time.
And the thing was, you never learned. Not really. Youâd repeat the same mistake again and again. Lifeâs law, right? Someday youâd figure it out⌠though that day clearly wasnât anytime soon.
Pregnancy, though, wasnât exactly something you could go shouting about to everyone. That was off the table. But moving?
If you werenât pregnant, thereâs no way youâd have kept quiet. Youâd have made sure the entire island knew. And naturally, that wouldâve meant it wouldnât happen.
This time, though, you zipped it. The only person who knew was JJâand, well, he didnât really count. Or, okay, maybe he did. Of course, he was important, but not the kind of person to stand in your way. On the contrary, he had your back. He even offered to help you with the whole moving process.
Things happened so fast, you could hardly believe it.
Your dad came home from his work trip, you visited the mainland, met with a realtor friend of his, checked out potential homesâit was like someone had hit the fast-forward button.
You couldnât decide on anything. You were even okay with a cute little apartment. The list of occupants was simple: you and your daughter. You didnât need much more.
Your mom, however, had her opinions. She didnât want a mansion either, but she was firm about the house having enough rooms. One for you, one for your daughter, and a guest roomâbecause naturally, grandma duties. And a yard, because she wanted to watch her grandchild play outside.
So apartments were out. Houses it was. After seeing what felt like a million empty ones, you were ready to scream.
But finally, you found it. The perfect house. The yard alone sold it. You could already picture the memories youâd make there with your daughter. Maybe a swing or a hammock⌠some comfy furniture on the porch.
You never imagined youâd get so close to your dream so quickly.
It had the three rooms your mom insisted on, was two stories, and honestly, it was beautiful. You loved it. But the idea of living there alone was terrifying.
Still, the deal was sealed.
It didnât take longâtwo weeks, tops. When your mom insisted on hiring an interior designer, you didnât argue much. Secretly, you liked the idea. And once your belongings were packed, it was all done.
All that was left was you.
There werenât many people to say goodbye to on the island, which was, honestly, fine. Who were you supposed to bid farewell to? Rafe? His family, who didnât even know you were pregnant? Your friends, whoâd probably broadcast the news to the world? No thanks.
Except for JJ.
Youâd have been a total ass not to acknowledge his help. Even if his support wasnât entirely physical, his presence had been a huge emotional lift.
So saying goodbye wasnât hard.
Ignoring the support heâd given you wouldâve been dumb. When you decided to give him a nice surfboard as a thank-you gift, you didnât overthink it. You just thought about who JJ wasâsomeone who loved the ocean and surfing. Beyond that? You didnât know much. So you kept it simple. Spoiler alert: he liked it.
You hesitated, thinking a gift might make things unnecessarily sentimental, but he deserved it. Nobody else in his position wouldâve treated you as kindly. Even Kooks barely treated each other well. Expecting a Pogue to go out of their way for you? Yeah, no.
But JJ had.
You werenât super close, but during one of your conversations, heâd mentioned how much he liked the rare nights when his shift ended early. He worked at a pub. In your head, youâd given him two weeks before he got firedâor kicked out after starting a fight. You were that sure of it.
A week ago, knowing the end of his evening shift, you parked near the pub, sitting on your car hood to wait for him. The plan? Give him the surfboard. Maybe even give him a ride home if he needed one.
Fifteen minutes passed. He hadnât come out.
You started questioning everythingâmaybe youâd gotten the wrong day? Or maybe youâd messed up the time?
Waiting around for nothing felt miserable. You shouldâve paid better attention when heâd been talking about his schedule.
Not that the gift had been planned or anything. The idea had hit you on a whim. You just wanted to do something before you left. After all, there werenât many people to say goodbye to. And texting JJ a quick see ya felt way too impersonal.
âWhat are you doing here?â
You snapped out of your thoughts, your eyes shooting up from your phone. JJ stood a few steps away, mid-turn before he stopped and faced you fully. His eyes scanned the car before landing on you.
Quickly, you shoved your phone into your pocket. âMaking sure you didnât pick another fight.â Sliding off the hood, you smirked.
JJ rolled his eyes, flashing you a sarcastic smile. âHa-ha. How funny.â
Unlike him, your grin was genuine. Why should he have all the fun pissing people off? It was your turn.
Unlike him, your lips curled into a genuine smile. Was it always going to be him getting under your skin for his own amusement? No, this time, it was your turn.
You heard him say your name, his tone serious. âNo, really. What are you doing here?â
Keeping surprises wasnât exactly your specialty, but you couldnât resist messing with him a little. After all, this was the first time in days youâd left the houseâand only in your baggiest clothes. Might as well enjoy it.
âJust hanging out.â
He frowned, his eyes scanning the area before gesturing around. âHere? Outside the pub?â
The confusion on his face was nearly comicalâborderline annoyed, maybe?
You mirrored his glance at the surroundings, raising your eyebrows. It wasnât much to look at. Just⌠a place. âWhatâs wrong with here?â
JJ let out a frustrated sigh, and for a moment, you couldnât believe youâd actually managed to annoy him. He genuinely looked upset. âAre you serious right now? Youââ He stopped himself, clenching his jaw as he stepped closer. Lowering his voice, he added, âYou canât drink. Youâre not even supposed to be hanging around.â
So, he thought youâd come here to drink? Thatâs why he was so worked up?
It was kind of⌠cute. But poking the bear was way more fun.
You let out a dramatic hum as you crossed your arms. âNot allowed? Says who?â You tried not to laugh at the look he shot you, a mix of exasperation and disbelief, like youâd lost your mind.
âMe. Youâre not drinking. Not here, not anywhere. Have you lost it?â
Your lips pulled into a grin, and despite his attempt to scold you, his irritation only made it funnier. Especially since you hadnât even done what he was accusing you of.
The second JJ caught onto what you were doing, his annoyed expression melted away. As your laughter echoed, he pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly unimpressed. âYeah, yeah. Hilarious. Now, can you just tell me what youâre actually doing here?â
You clutched your stomach, your laughter dying down into a lingering smile. Sure, he wasnât amused, but you were, and thatâs all that mattered.
âIâve got something for you.â
JJâs eyebrows shot up. He straightened, intrigued. âYeah?â
You stepped away from the carâs front, glancing back to see him still rooted in place. You gave him a quick head nod to follow. With a sigh, he finally moved. âIf this is a gun for self-defense, just so you know, Iâm not really clear on the rules here,â he joked with a wink.
You snorted, shaking your head. âPlease. If I gave you a gun, youâd be arrested in, like, two seconds.â
He laughed, but you could tell he was curious now. Opening the back door, you reached inside. âItâs a thank-you gift. Kind of.âThe surprise on his face was priceless. He clearly wasnât expecting this. Honestly, neither were you until the idea struck.
JJ tilted his head, his expression skeptical. âThank you? For what? For telling you not to pick fights?â
You rolled your eyes. He couldnât be serious. âNo, JJ. For helping me out.â
He smiled, but it was that classic, goofy grin of his. Any trace of his earlier irritation had completely vanished. He didnât even glance into the car. âOh, I get it. Like a âwithout JJ, my life wouldâve fallen apartâ kind of thank you? Go on, feed my ego. I live for this.â
For a split second, you considered slamming the door and driving off. Instead, you laughed. Sure, there was some truth to what he said, but no way were you letting him win.
Taking a deep breath, you opened the door wider and stepped back. âNope. Itâs just a small gesture. Donât read too much into it.â
JJ walked over and held the door open, his eyes going wide when he spotted the surfboard wedged into the backseat. His fingers ran over the smooth edges and the blue-and-white design. âYou got this for me?â he asked, his voice softer now as he inspected it.
You couldnât suppress your grin. âYeah. I mean, I know itâs kind of random, but I figured you could use your own board for a change. For everything youâve doneââ You hesitated, trying to find the right words. âIt meant a lot.â
JJâs smile was different this time. It wasnât cocky or teasing. It was genuine. âIf I donât take this, I feel like youâd be really annoying about it,â he muttered, pulling the board from the car.
âAbsolutely. You wouldnât want to hear me talk about how I poured my heart into its design,â you teased.
He froze, eyes narrowing. âWaitâyou designed it?â
You smirked, holding his gaze. âNo. But itâs nice that you believed it for a second.â
JJ laughed, shaking his head as he leaned the board against the car. For once, he wasnât mocking or making jokes. Instead, he looked at you with something softer, something you couldnât quite place. âThis is⌠perfect. You didnât have to do this.â
âI know. I just wanted to.â
He hesitated, glancing at the board before meeting your eyes again. âI was just trying to help. I didnât think it was that big of a deal.â
And that was it, wasnât it? Thatâs how it felt. Deep down, youâd even envied the way he was with his friends. He didnât know you. In fact, he hated your group. But if he treated you like thisâwho knew how he treated his friends?
You werenât used to people doing things for you without expecting something in return. Sure, you had a hunch JJ liked money. Not just youâeveryone on the island knew that. But still, the way he talked to you, made time for you⌠it mattered. It broke the prejudice you had against him.
It wasnât anything grand. He didnât buy you houses or cars. He didnât shower you with jewelry. But he talked to you like no one else did. He made you feelâlike you were someone. Like someone whose decisions shouldnât be dictated by anyone elseâs words.
And that? That was worth more than jewelry. More than anything money could buy. It was something most peopleâRafe includedâdidnât have.
From the moment he heard, he didnât tell anyone. What friend would do that? Ruthie? Sophie? Who?
JJ did.
And he wasnât even your friend.
Thatâs why it mattered. He was just being himself, and you needed that.
âIt felt like that.â JJ was holding the surfboard, his eyes catching yours. A strange silence fell between you. Neither of you had expected such a gestureânot just surfing, but the support heâd given you.
You hadnât expected his support; that was his gesture to you. And he hadnât expected a surfboard from you; that was your gesture to him.
JJ lifted the board to examine it, the usual smirk still on his face. He was clearly trying to ease the tension hanging between you. âSo, I have my own board now, huh? I donât have to give this one back, do I? Because when it comes to stuff like that, youâre pretty stubborn.â
âNo, itâs yours,â you said, smiling. You were grateful for his teasingâit cut through the awkwardness. You couldâve stayed silent for hours. âBut if I catch you getting into another fight, Iâll beat you with that board.â
JJ laughed, shaking his head. His gaze flicked between the board and you. He was ridiculously excited about the surfboard but trying hard not to show it. âFair deal. But just so weâre clear, every cool move I pull off with this board? Iâm crediting you. âThanks to Princess for this wave,â that kind of thing. Youâre my sponsor now.â
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât deny his antics made you laugh. He was fun to be around. You were glad the whole âstatusâ nonsense between you two seemed to be fading. It wasnât just youâhe had his own assumptions about you too. But it felt like youâd both moved past that. âOkay. Sponsorshipâs over. Go find your wave.â
JJ carefully propped the board against the wall, his expression softening. âJokes aside, thanks. I mean it. This means a lot. Just donât tell anyone I said thatâgotta protect my image.â He smiled, dimples showing as he ran a hand through his hair.
You smiled back, nodding quickly. âDonât worry, your secretâs safe.â
As you both grinned, JJâs eyes flicked from you to the surfboard. Following his gaze, your eyes drifted to his hands, gently tracing the board like it was fragile.
âIâm leaving the island tomorrow.â The words tumbled out, and you saw his hands freeze. His gaze landed on you, but you kept your focus on the board, pretending to admire its design. It really was a beautiful surfboard. âSoâI wanted to say thank you.â
His blue eyes pierced through you as if that was even possible. JJ didnât say anything to make the moment heavier, just nodded. For several seconds, neither of you spoke. Realizing the air had gotten heavier, you shifted your tone to something more casual. âI could drive you home if you want.â
You werenât the kind of person to offer, but making him carry a surfboard all the way home felt cruel.
JJ opened his mouth to respond, but a car horn blared from down the street. Both of you turned toward the sound. Outside the car, John B and Kiara were leaning against it, with Pope, Cleo, and Sarah visible through the windows. Pope waved at JJ from where he hung halfway out of the window.
When Sarahâs eyes met yours, you instinctively tugged at your shirt. There wasnât anything visible, but stillâyou felt uneasy. âWow,â you said, feigning amusement. âYour entourage is here.â
JJ hesitated, looking momentarily torn. Finally, he sighed, a guilty smile creeping onto his face. His gaze dropped to your hand still fidgeting with your shirt. For a split second, it seemed like he wanted to grab your hand, to stop you.
âNothingâs showing,â he said, his eyes lingering on your waist. You knew that, but the idea of anyone finding out still terrified you. Especially someone from Rafeâs family. He didnât want them to know, and neither did you. Thatâs why you felt the need to be extra cautious around Sarah and Wheezie.
âI know. Itâs justââ You stopped, shutting your eyes briefly before opening them again. It was paranoia, but understandable. âRelax. No one knows, I swear.â His hand almost reached out to your arm, but he stopped, remembering his friends were watching from the car.
âGo,â you said, shrugging. You composed yourself. âLooks like youâve got a ride after all.â You smiled.
JJ paused for a beat, then flashed a crooked smile. He hated the awkwardness lingering between you. âIf this board isnât as good as you said, youâre getting an earful. Iâll call you.â He walked backward, teasing. You couldnât help but chuckle at his words.
As you walked toward your front door, you noticed his movements slow. He stopped, turned, and looked back at you. It was like heâd remembered something heâd forgotten to do. Placing the surfboard down gently, his eyes briefly darted away from yours.
Then he walked up to you and stopped right in front of you. After a brief, silent pause, you felt his arms wrap around you. Was he⌠hugging you? Seriously? The gesture caught both of you off guard. Youâd never imagined this kind of closeness. But then again, you hadnât imagined buying him a surfboard either. So, it didnât feel wrong. If buying him a gift made you feel this close, then it wasnât strange that heâd feel close enough to hug you.
You returned the gesture, wrapping your arms around him. His grip was firm, and the scent of salt and ocean filled your senses. How did he always smell so much like the sea?
The hug was short, but both of you felt the strangeness of it. Once againâyou felt like youâd crossed a line. Broken some unspoken rule.
JJ shrugged as he pulled back. âYeah, thatâs it. See you, uh⌠whatever.â
You took a deep breath, watching him stand there. You hated goodbyes. You were going to miss this island, and nowâ
âYeah⌠goodbye.â You pushed your hair behind your shoulders, trying to steady your voice. You didnât understand why you felt like you were losing a friend. Like you were going to⌠miss him?
Stop. Donât even think about it.
JJ nodded, picking up the surfboard as he walked toward the car. You watched him for a moment before turning to the front door and stepping into your car. Through the windshield, you caught a glimpse of Kiara muttering something to Sarah. Whatever she was saying, you couldnât hear.
When JJ got into the car, he paused, lowering his head for a brief moment before looking outside again.
He mouthed something to the group. Not to you, but to the friends in the car. âJust shut up.â
When he gave you a quick nod, you returned it before starting your car. Watching them drive off, you felt a strange mix of relief and melancholy. Youâd thanked JJ, and that was all you wanted. It was done.
Except for the quiet ache of losing a friend.
Youâd left only a few clothes back at the house on the island. The furniture and everything else stayed in your room. Your parents insisted the room remain untouchedâthey wanted you to know there was still a home for you there. They even promised not to change a thing.
The first few months were bound to be hard; you knew that. Living alone was going to take some getting used to. But you hoped itâd all be worth it when you finally held your baby.
Now, you were sitting on the couch in your new place, sipping a green smoothie. Youâd have given anything for a coffee, but pregnancy meant sacrifices. A little caffeine might not hurt, but you didnât want to risk it. The smoothie was healthy, though it tasted awful.
It had only been six days since the move. Youâd allowed yourself time to explore the area, taking walks around the quiet streets. Your parents had offered to stay with you for a few days, but you politely declined. You wanted to settle in on your own. Leaning on their warmth and presence only to have it ripped away later would have made the loneliness worse. You couldnât let that happen.
Morning sickness had eased enough for a few walks, so youâd wandered the calm streets near your house. Quiet, orderly, nothing like Outer Banks. You couldnât help but compare the two. Everything here was different. The people, the lifestyleâit all felt so structured and tame. But a part of you missed the chaos of the island. The freedom. The absurdity of going to the store in a bikini without anyone batting an eye. That tight-knit community where everyone knew each otherâs names.
Youâd visited the local park a few times. It was rarely crowded, and you hadnât met anyone yet. By the time you arrived, most of the adults and kids were just beginning to trickle in.
So, here you were: your own place. Did that make you an adult?
How did adults even make friends? Scratch thatâhow did anyone past a certain age make friends? As a kid, it was easy. Just ask someone to play with you, and that was it. Middle school? Same thing.
But now? You didnât know a soul here. What were you supposed to do? Walk up to someone and introduce yourself?
Terrifying thought.
Still, maybe worth trying, right?
-
Socializing wasnât supposed to feel like this.
Your eyes scanned the parkâs scenery. The leaves rustled gently in the breeze, and birds chirped in the branches above. A group of kids played in a sandbox, their laughter mingling with the faint sounds of distant traffic.
You clasped your hands over your stomach, exhaling deeply. âMaybe this is good for me,â you thought.
But the whole idea still felt horrifying. Sitting at home wouldâve been worse, though. At least you were out, breathing fresh air.
Introducing yourself to someone, though? Out of the question. No anxiety attacks, but your chest tightened just thinking about it. No, youâd just sit and enjoy the park for a bit. That would be enough.
Your gaze dropped to the book in your lap: Healthy Nutrition and Development During Pregnancy. You fiddled with the corner of its cover. Would someone else find this funny? Carrying a guidebook instead of a novel wasnât something even you wouldâve expected a few months ago. But here you were, on the verge of a whole new chapter. Screw what anyone thoughtâyou were preparing for your future.
Suddenly, the bench shifted slightly as someone sat down beside you. The movement snapped you out of your thoughts. You glanced up to find a middle-aged woman with an energetic demeanor. Her dyed-blond hair revealed a hint of gray at the roots, and a steaming coffee cup rested in her hands.
âUgh, I hope I can finish this before it goes cold,â she muttered to herself before calling out to the playground. âTati! No running, sweetheart!â
She waved toward the child before turning back to you with a wide smile.
âLovely day, isnât it?â she chirped.
You gave her a polite smile, nodding. âIt is,â you replied, subtly shifting your book closer to your lap. Her eyes flicked to the book in your hands, narrowing slightly as if trying to make out the title. âIs that a⌠guidebook?â she finally asked.
You tilted your head slightly. âYes,â you said simply, hoping thatâd be enough to end the conversation.
âA pregnancy guide?â she pressed, her curiosity accompanied by a cheerful smile that didnât quite reach her eyes. âHow sweet! Helping out a sister or expecting a niece?âOh, where are my manners? Iâm Viola.â
Her question caught you off guard. You hesitated briefly before giving your name. âUh, no. Itâs for me,â you said with a small smile.
Her expression shifted instantly. Her eyes widened, her grin turning stiff and awkward. âFor you? OhâŚâ
You nodded, feeling heat creep up your cheeks. She had seemed friendly at first, but the subtle judgment on her face now was impossible to ignore.
âHow far along?â she asked, as if the question was perfectly natural.
âSixteen weeks,â you mumbled, pretending to smooth the bookâs pages. The weight of her gaze made your skin crawl.
âAh, so young,â she murmured, taking a long sip from her coffee. When she lowered the cup, her eyes lingered on you, as though dissecting every detail. âHow old are you, if you donât mind me asking?â
âTwenty,â you replied, keeping your tone neutral but feeling the words land heavier than you intended. You watched her eyebrows knit together as she took a sharp breath.
âTwenty? You look barely old enough to drive!â she exclaimed, clearly not trying to be subtle. Then, almost conspiratorially, âBut⌠you must be married, right?â
Your hands instinctively moved to rest on your stomach, but you hesitated to respond. The silence must have been answer enough because her eyes flicked from your belly back to your face.
âOh,â she said knowingly, her smile tightening further. âSo⌠is the father still in the picture?â
What was this, an interrogation?
You swallowed the lump forming in your throat. Was it the tone of her voice? Or the audacity of her questions? Whatever it was, it stung. âThatâs not something I need to discuss with you,â you said firmly, fighting to keep the frustration out of your voice.
Viola shrugged, but her scrutinizing look didnât waver. âFair enough. But raising a baby at your age, and without⌠well, you know. Itâs going to be tough. Donât you think this was a bit⌠impulsive?â
Her words hit like a cold wind. You tightened your grip on your stomach and tilted your head slightly. âThatâs none of your business,â you said, your voice harder now.
Viola didnât back down. âYes, maybe youâre right. But people talk, sweetheart. And usually, they judge the ones they think made the wrong decisionsâŚâ She paused, pursing her lips. âWell, they judge.â
That was all you needed to hear. You tucked your book under your arm like you were putting it in a bag, got up, and said, âI think itâs time for me to leave,â your tone colder than even you expected.
Viola raised a hand as if trying to smooth things over. âOh, I didnât mean to offend,â she said, but the look in her eyes betrayed the opposite. âIâm just saying this for your own good.â
You could shove your âthoughtsâ up your ass.
Turning on your heel, you walked toward the parkâs exit. The sound of her coffee cup being placed on the bench and her murmuring words echoed behind you. A fresh start sounded nice, you thought. But a new beginning wasnât a guarantee of escaping old judgments.
There was no way you were going out to socialize again anytime soon. You hated that woman. With every fiber of your being. The way she judged you with that smug little brain of hersâit made your blood boil. You had no memory of how you even made it back home.
You made yourself some hot cocoa, hoping it would calm your nerves. Honestly, lying flat in the grass wouldnât have been enough to shake off the anger at this point.
Even though you tried to distract yourselfâknowing full well that stress wasnât good for the babyâit wasnât working. The incident replayed in your mind on a loop. You were certain youâd shiver every time you walked past that park again.
Who did she think she was, anyway? How could someone pass judgment on a stranger like that? The sheer audacityâit was baffling.
The sound of your phone notification pulled you out of your spiraling thoughts. Glancing over, you reached for the phone resting on the couch.
You waited for a reply, but when nothing came, you set the phone down again. At least one of you was having a good day. Even though you felt like you were on the verge of exploding, you took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself.
The sudden ring of your phone startled you. You looked over, eyes narrowing slightly in surprise. JJ Maybank was calling you. Right now.
Pressing the phone to your ear, you grabbed the half-full cocoa mug from the table with your other hand. You werenât going to drink it anymore. You were too annoyed to even think about washing it, but you figured you could at least move it somewhere out of sight. JJâs voice came through the speaker, and despite everything, a small smile crept onto your face. For all his antics, he was a decent guy.
Heading toward the kitchen, you heard the cheerfulness in his voice as he began, âUsed it this morning.â He was talking about the surfboard, excitement practically dripping from his words.
Frowning slightly, you placed the mug on the counter. This morning? Shouldnât he have been at work? âThis morning? Werenât you supposed to be at work?â
There was a brief pause before JJ let out a muffled laugh. âGot fired,â he said casually, like it was the most normal thing in the world. Honestly, with him, it kind of was. You couldnât help but laugh a little.
You werenât surprisedâof course, you werenât. With the phone still pressed to your ear, you wandered over to the window and glanced outside. âFigured,â you said, your voice laced with playful sarcasm.
JJ didnât miss a beat, his tone now teasingly accusatory. âWait a second. Did you bet on me?â
Smiling, you shook your head even though he couldnât see it, your attention momentarily caught by a cat wandering down the street. JJ cleared his throat, bringing you back. âNo, but I wish I had,â you said.
His response came in the form of a dramatic groan. âThatâs the meanest thing Iâve heard all week. Youâre better than this.â
You turned around and walked toward the kitchen, your tone a little sharper now. âGet used to it.â
JJ responded immediately, his voice carrying a hint of challenge. âNever,â he shot back. Then, after a brief pause, his tone softened, but he added a teasing edge. âPregnancy hormones have turned you into a completely different person. And itâs only been six days.â
The way he always knew how to push your buttonsâand somehow make you smile instead of snapâwas maddening. You found yourself tapping the corner of the table with your fingers, a habit you didnât even notice until it happened. âI take pride in that,â you said, a playful grin tugging at your lips.
JJ came back stronger, more confident this time. âHey, do you think itâs the hormones, or is it because you havenât seen my handsome face for six whole days?â There was that familiar cocky tone, but you could tell he was trying to make you laugh. âIâd bet everything itâs because you havenât seen my handsome face.â
âEven your surfboard?â you teased, your voice lifting just enough to show you were fully invested in the banter now. You moved toward the living room and dropped onto the couch, your gaze briefly flitting to the TV. But your attention was fully locked on JJ.
âNot a chance,â he replied instantly, almost defensive. âThe boardâs off-limits. Too precious.â
You chuckled, grabbing the nearby blanket and pulling it over your lap. âThen youâve lost everything except the surfboard,â you said, shaking your head in mock disapproval. JJâs laugh echoed through the phone, rich and warm, before he quipped, âYouâve been extra rude lately,â his voice carrying a mix of mock hurt and teasing amusement.
You didnât just roll your eyesâyou sank deeper into the couch, grabbing a pillow to prop yourself up. Of course, heâd called just to mess with you. Was he bored? Had he decided you were the best target for entertainment? âIâve always been like this,â you replied with a shrug he couldnât see.
âNope,â JJ shot back instantly, his tone softer but still certain. A brief silence followed, filled only by the sound of your own breathing, before he spoke again. This time, his voice was a little more sincere. âSo⌠howâs it going? Living alone and all?â
You didnât hate that he asked. Actually, it felt nice to talk to someone. As an adultâor whatever weird in-between phase you were inâsocializing wasnât exactly easy. It hadnât been easy on the island either, but at least that had been your choice. This wasnât.
You took a deep breath, realizing the question was harder to answer than youâd expected. âIt sucks,â you admitted finally, the honesty not surprising you in the slightest.
âWhy?â JJâs voice was softer now, laced with just enough concern to feel genuine but not suffocating. It was like he always knew how to navigate these moments without overstepping. And honestly, it was strangeâgood strange.
You tried to sort through the chaos in your head. âI donât know,â you said with a faint sigh. âI havenât really connected with anyone. I donât know anyone here.â
JJ, ever the problem-solver in his own weird way, jumped in with his trademark ease. âThen make friends with the stray cats,â he said, that classic carefree tone of his bringing a smile to your face despite everything.
âI already have you,â you teased back, your voice dripping with sarcasm. âI couldnât possibly betray you.â
His laugh from the other end of the line was contagious. âNot funny.âÂ
Fidgeting with the edge of the blanket, you hesitated before mumbling, âAre you okay? How are you?â Somehow, over the phone, it felt easier to askâless intimidating than it wouldâve been face-to-face.
âIâm amazing,â JJ said, his voice taking on a flat, almost robotic tone that screamed deflection.
âYour ego is exhausting,â you retorted, matching his sarcasm. Why couldnât he just answer the question for once? Did everything have to be a game? âSeriously. How are you? After⌠you know, that day.â
JJ exhaled deeply, and when he finally spoke, his voice was quieter, almost reluctant. âI donât live with my dad anymore.â
You sat up straighter, grabbing the remote to lower the TVâs volume. âWait, really?â
âYeah,â he said simply, like it wasnât a big deal. âPacked up my stuff and left.â
It wasnât exactly shocking. In fact, you were relieved heâd done it. Knowing heâd been living with someone who hurt him was unbearable. But still, you couldnât stop your brow from furrowing. You couldnât shake the worry. âAre you staying with John B?â
JJâs silence was unexpected. You listened to the sound of his breathing, the faintest hitch before he finally answered. âKind of?â
âWhat does that mean?â Your voice sharpened with concern. Why was he dancing around the answer when he could just tell you?
JJ sighed again, his tone shifting as though heâd stepped further away from the phone. âThey donât know I left yet. And I donât want to talk about it.â
He hadnât told his closest friends? Why? They werenât the type to judge him. You didnât know them well, but you were sure of that much. It didnt make sense.
Even as your worry grew, you knew pressing him wasnât the right move. âSo where are you staying?â you asked cautiously.
JJâs tone hardened. âI said I donât want to talk about it.â There it wasâhis three-year-old tantrum mode. Did he really think people didnât have the right to worry about him? Idiot.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, already feeling your patience wearing thin. âAs your friend, Iâm allowed to be concerned about your safety, JJ. Just tell me where youâre staying.â
His tone shifted again, this time lighter, more teasing. âFriend, huh? Thatâs nice. Kook and Pogue forever.â
âShut it,â you snapped, your irritation clear. All you wanted was to know he was safe. âJust tell me already.â
JJ paused, then let out a soft laughâthe kind you knew was covering up something deeper. Even a toddler could tell. âI stayed with them for a few days. Been figuring it out since.â
You frowned. That wasnât a solution. âYou need to tell them,â you said gently.
He responded with the same stubbornness youâd come to expect, but his tone hinted at a smirk. âThis is my problem, princess.â Then, as if to shift the mood, he added, âThis is the first time weâve talked on the phone. Cute, right? Now, tell me about your day.â
Despite the worry gnawing at you, you relaxed just a little. He wouldnât be joking around like this if things were terrible⌠right?
You hoped so causeâJJ is your friend.
