This world has an abandoned house with some scrap and a scrap pile, and an abandoned motel. If there were more spawners around, it would be good for rags to riches. Actually, maybe its perfect for a MORE REALISTIC rags to riches if the world doesn't have spawners. Either way, Point Ouerbacker is so creative.

I always get asks about what mods I use, and as I've been playing World Adventures recently for the Completionist LEPacy challenge, I've been trying to compile some mods specific to that expansion - I thought I'd share all the ones I've found here so anyone else who is new to WA can have some recommendations!

If this ends up being useful to anyone, I'm happy to make one of these mod pack lists for each EP - let me know if that's something you'd like!

Also, if anyone has any more suggestions on mods I should add to this list, please let me know and I'll include them!

Nraas Traveller

This mod overhauls the travel system and allows all types & ages of sims to travel, and also allows travel to any EA or custom world you have installed, not just the 3 standard vacation ones - so your sims could take a vacation in Sunlit Tides or Monte Vista if they want to!

PotatoBalladSims distant terrain fix for France & Qahne's Smaller Eiffel Tower

These mods are both just small aesthetic changes for France, the first one fixes blocky trees in the distance and the second one makes the Eiffel Tower a way more realistic size

TheBleedingWoodland's Shang Simla Icon Fix

This changes Shang Simla's icon to the Forbidden City which is actually located in China

Twinsimming's Take Practice Shots Mod

The photography skill can be so tedious to level up as you have to take photographs manually, this mod makes it much easier as you can leave your sims to idlly practice photography like they can do with any other skill

OutOfIdeas' More Unique Adventures Per Day

I was having a big problem where I would go to a country in search of a specific adventure to unlock a tomb & have to return home 8 days later, having nothing come up on the adventure board during my sims stay - this mod fixes that annoying problem as it allows for more adventures to appear each day, there are several flavours to choose from so it's totally customisable with how 'cheaty' you want to go!

NanaBx3's fishing box chest fix

There used to be a small chance that sims would reel in a treasure box when going fishing, but the feature got borked in one of the patches years ago and was never fixed - this mod makes it more likely you will come across this cool feature, it features additional items to be discovered in treasure boxes if WA is installed

LowMotivesWarning's Not-So-Weak Mummies

This ups the athletic ability of mummies & likelihood of your sim getting cursed to make them much more dangerous & threatening

StrexSims More Townies for Vacation Worlds

This is not technically a mod as it's a pack of sims, but it basically allows for more of the sims walking around town to fit in with the aesthetics of that neighbourhood - if you like this pack I strongly recommend checking out this creator's other townie packs, as they've released them for most EA worlds!

Nectar Combinatorics

Minor improvement to the nectar-making skill that makes it more user-friendly, adds the option to experiment with random fruit until your sim works out some good combinations - then they can just add garuanteed 'good' fruit combinations to the machine rather than endlessly experimenting with fruit to find out what combos work

[Requires Late Night] Default Replacement Nectar Glass

Replaces the nectar tumbler glass with a much nicer looking wine glass, this does require LN to work otherwise the glass will be invisible!

Smaller Eiffel Tower by Qahne

"Champs Les Sims has always been one of my favourite worlds in TS3, and after having moved to France just a couple of weeks ago, it's become even more special to me. But that ghastly, enormous Eiffel Tower off in the distance is just too much. There's a great mod over at PotatoBalladSims to remove the tower entirely, but I just wanted it a bit less...obvious. So I resized it, with one version at 50% size and another at 33% size. The 50% size is still very visible, and the 33% size is a bit more subtle. Any bigger than 50% looks too big to me, and any smaller than 33% and you can't really tell what it is without squinting.

I also included the fix for the broken alpha settings with the distant terrain, so trees are actually trees and not black squares. If you just want the fix, it's at the same link above at PotatoBalladSims. This is a simple default replacement for the mesh for DT France, the distant terrain object from Champs Les Sims. Just pop it into your mods folder and it'll override the model and show up in Champs Les Sims or any other world that uses the same distant terrain, but you can't have any other mod that replaces the terrain object model in the game."

Hey, Dark! Sorry to bother you again, but I forgot to ask if you also knew where I could find Boroughsburg but the playable version? The original is more like for role playing, but I remember someone edited it with playable lots and the rabbit holes to play, I just can't remember who it was and I've googled it but can't find it. First of all you never bother hon! I wish this would help you but I'm not sure..as you know, the world is by @potato-ballad-sims​, which reblogged a while ago here and here is the direct download link, just in case... Here I found Rabbitholes playables for Boroughsburg (you only have to scroll down a bit) by @simshai91 and on the other hand this wonderful tumblr @nyc-boroughsburg​ collect everything about Boroughsburg, I guess any of the named blogs can guide you much better in case this doesn't answer your question.

Although if someone can answer this better, please it would be great of you!!

White Brick CAS Room 

I made this more aesthetically pleasing/realistic room ages ago and never shared, but I was feeling especially motivated tonight ♥. 

The tiling is just how the room itself is UVed, it doesn’t like anything but solid colors, but those bore me. It tends to just all blend together after a while anyways.

Just throw it in your Mods folder, and remember that you can only have one cas room at a time so be sure to yeet any other one you may have installed!

hello! hope you're doing good! I recently abandoned the sims 4 and started playing sims 3 again and I have some questions if you don't mind! sorry for the inconvenience btw. first of all, do you have any lightning mod recommendation? hi, thank you!! as for lighting mods, i tend to like a more realistic style so one of my favourites is the St Claire lighting mod by brntwaffles (i use the one with St claire water and 15% chance of aurora) i also really like Clear & Bright by potatoballadsims. but if you want colourful, @brntwaffle has HEAPS of lovely bright lighting mods to choose from :)

and as for posting on tumblr, just post whatever you like! it's good to tag your posts as best you can, so other simmers can find you! and i do my best to like & comment on posts i enjoy, everyone likes to hear that their posts are appreciated! and it helps you to make friends :)

I have worked hard on this, it took longer than expected due to work getting in the way but it’s finally finished, I also should mention the houses are not furnished at all, there is a total of 22 houses pre-built for you and 1 apartment and 4 lots you can build on for yourself

A Dump of Random CC!

Since I had a bunch of CC waiting to go, I decided to just upload it all at once.

You get:

- 5 Single beds from TS3. The Castle and Federal beds are converted directly from the game, while the French, fairy and traditional beds are double beds (and a bunk) made into singles; thanks to Everlasting-Garden and danjaley whose TS3 meshes I used. These have the same textures as their double bed counterparts do. I also did matching recolours for Shaundak21’s castle and traditional bunk beds, which are included.

- Several other TS3 conversions: Sea Serpent from Town Life; Sink from Regal Living; Celtic table and chair from Dragon Valley; Costume Chest (as toy box) from Generations; Baby mobile from base game; and secret bookshelf from Supernatural.

- A deco toy snake, mesh is originally from Animal Crossing.

- A British/European Steam Train, converted from TS3, originally by PotatoBalladSims. I did a red Hogwarts Express recolour, both with and without the Hogwarts logo. (I wanted to default the neighborbood steam train with this, but haven’t figured out how- so for now this lot deco version will have to do.)

Aurora Skies Makeover, Vol. 1 Maybe?

So I’ve been playing in Aurora Skies because it’s always been my favorite store world, and am slooowwly making over the town, so I thought it might be fun to document it as I go along. A pretty conservative town makeover, like I’m trying to keep the households on their original lots, things like that. I am using potatoballadsims’ Fixed Version of Aurora Skies. It’s awesome.

I’m on my third household in, but since I played them first, I’ll start with the Clark Household. I have to admit I changed his name from Jessie to Jesse, and her name from Wanda to Willa. Aurora Skies has some pretty sims! So this is what their house originally looked like. Okay, but a bit cold, and bigger than I usually like to play.

So here’s what they’re in now....

I put them in the Megami Market house by redkitty42 I got from the exchange. Same lot they were on originally though. I did do a few exterior changes like the garden of course, since the Clarks are growing all the fruits and vegetables for the town, excluding herbs, SN plants, mushrooms, things like that. And I changed the roof to fit in more with the town vibe. Another view:

I went back to visit for a minute since I wanted to try out some new baby things, and they’ve got the only baby in town so far (I started using AwesomeMod, which I think pauses pregnancy for inactives, but I’ll find out soon enough). While I was visiting I got an interior shot. Husband wasn’t there because he was at work at their vegetable market at the time. I guess I made more changes on the inside than the outside. It’s cozier than the original big red house for sure. At least to me.

The baby stuff I wanted to look at is really cute! It’s from Milla’s Steffor Advent Calendar, which I think(?) you can only get if you find a reblog of it since I think something happened to her old tumblr, and the original post isn’t around anymore. I think I reblogged it at one point to save it. Below is the crib, crib bedding, and her lounger deer (it’s a baby playmat) from her set. That’s Atticus. I forgot to think of a name for the baby before he was born and I panicked.

She’s still in her maternity wear because I was too lazy to do a makeover before I switched households, oops.

Vintage Champs Les Sims

So, I took the week off from Cladbridge-on-Stowe to play-test my friend’s new revision of her lovely world, Vintage Champs Les Sims. And if you guys thought her original version was pretty, you’re in for a real treat with this version.

When Tedhi introduced this version to us, she mentioned that she’s been having her priest test it, by walking. WALKING! Hello, Tedhi! If God wanted us to walk, He wouldn’t have invented CARS!!!!

And since my sims are even lazier than their simgoddess, I generously provided transportation. Yes, I did! In 2 forms, no less!

So here’s the temporary home of River McIrish, her trusty canine friend, Daisy, and her brand new horse, Alpo. I’ve played River before – many, many years ago – in a Lifetime Wish challenge. She wanted to be a master thief and viola! Granted by her ever-generous simgoddess. (What can I say? I’m a peach!)

I decided to do the horse bit, because – even though I’ve had Pets ever since it 1st came out - none of my sims has ever gone horseback riding. And this from a person who has owned and ridden horses in RL.

Exploring this world from atop a horse is a joy. So many pretty things to see. 

River rode to almost all the lots on her side of the river, ending up on a beach lot, before going back home. (She’s a coward and afraid of the dark. Weird for a thief, I know, but I like giving my sims challenges to overcome, when playing LTW challenges).

Anyway, the next day, I had her drive her jeep across the river. I figured she’d drive it to all the lots, but not genius. No, running from lot to lot was more her speed. Obviously she is not as much like her glorious simgoddess as I hoped. 

She ended up on this spot, and I was able to snap a picture of PotatoBalladSims’ distant French terrain – without the Eiffel Tower – that I promised Tedhi I would try out. Not sure that I care for it, but at least now you can see how it looks at night.

After a busy day exploring, she was tuckered out and crashed with Daisy.

I also explored this world with just Alpo – no rider. And OMG! That horse moves! He preferred the trails over the roads, so I got to see lots of pretty scenery – which I didn’t take any pics of (sorry!) because he ran so fast! Crazy horse. We pretty much covered the entire world and he never ran into any issues. Did meet lots of wild horses- who he tried to bite, but no routing issues.

Daisy walked around a bit, but mostly slept. (She’s a lazy, little dog). So, I’ll try this with another family – with a dog who likes to hunt.
