"'74–'75" is a song by American band the Connells from their fifth studio album, 'Ring' (1993). The acoustic ballad was released as the album's third single in 1993, but it did not chart in the United States. It would later become a European hit for the band in 1995, reaching the top 10 in a total of 11 European countries and peaking at No. 1 in Norway and Sweden. It also charted in the top 20 of the United Kingdom. Since the Connells never had another hit, they are widely seen as a one-hit wonder.

In the song, singer Mike Connell nostalgically reflects on the passing of time and how people he used to know have changed now. The music video, directed by Mark Pellington, features students from Needham B. Broughton High School's Class of 1975 and compares the photographs from their yearbook, with how they look and have aged since then.

The accompanying music video for the song was directed by Mark Pellington. It was shot at Needham B. Broughton High School in the band's hometown Raleigh, North Carolina in 1993, and features members of the Class of 1975, juxtaposing yearbook pictures with footage of the same people as they appeared in 1993. On November 14, 2015, to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1974–1975 class, a remixed video of the song was released, showing the class members as they looked 22 years after the original video was released.

Diane Palute Moser

Diane Palute Moser, of Kingston, passed away Dec. 20th, 2023, at the age of 84, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Susan Drozda Palute.

She graduated from Wilkes-Barre Township High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from Luzerne Community College. She started her career at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston and later retired from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. 

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, son Brian Moser, grandson Baby Daniel George Murphy, and sister Lois Isopi. 

She is survived by her children Susan and partner Joe Potak, residing in Texas, Donald and Alice Moser, residing in South Carolina, Denise Ritts in Kingston, and Cynthia and Brian Murphy at Harvey’s Lake. Also, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, her sister Elaine Cawley and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at St. Nicholas R.C. Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, Forty Fort.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.

There really isn’t much, to be honest. The main ones that come to mind are my first ever trophy from a karate tournament, and a necklace that my dad gave me when I was tiny. It’s more of a choker now than anything, but the goth vibes it gives are very strong 🤌
