I needed to make a post off of this one because... it just explains so much more. This hits so many new tones now- this show is known for their layers and callbacks and now going back to that moment even though it was wrong, he made Keeley practically bid for him as a trauma response. He had another lady he knew bid on him, almost guarantied as a safety net. This man has never known a lick of peace as a child. As a teen. Hell, his father took him to the redlight district to become a man at fourteen years old. A night that Jamie even now, comes to barely remember most likely because he blocked it out. Hell, if he was in the district, god knows if his father was making him do to forget or to be more of a man. a child being forced to lose his virginity to an adult because a parent said that was what you needed to be a man. From a man who abused him constantly. Verbally. Physically. Mentally. Every form imaginable up to present day. Topping that- his mother wasn't exactly in the picture- did she know how bad he was and left him with his father? His mother never fought for him. He has been alone. Building those walls to be like his dad because no one ever messed with him. Jamie Tartt as far as we know, up until AFC Richmond, has not known a father figure, a friend, no support system, no healthy relationships. The one person he found solace in as a kid, the man who he had a poster of on his wall, and someone who coached him one on one for several months while knowing he was being used as an emotional punching bag {and dealt with because in a sense, trauma response, used to it}, feels safe enough to tell him this. Feels free enough around him. Jamie found sanctuary in the one man who he idolized for years. and you bet your ass Roy Kent will protect his loved ones and family. Jamie has found a family in Richmond, and has found that and more in Roy fuckin' Kent.

Mom City or, as I like to call it, the OT3 goes to town.
Roy asking for Keeley’s help because he tried to help Jamie on his own, but couldn’t manage. The lack of jeaoulsy here is both fantastic and such a relief – Roy wants to get back with Keeley but still doesn’t hesitate to enlist her in comforting her ex, even though he’s been uncomfortable with their continued bond in the past, because a, he’s finally learning to trust Jamie, and b, he just cares too much about Jamie not to do whatever it takes to help him and everything else be damned.
The way Keeley smiles when she realizes that Roy wants her help with Jamie, and then that look of utter delight on her face when she sees them after the game.
“How did it go with Jamie?”
Roy and Keeley chasing after Jamie while it seems so real I can feel it plays and I mean really.
“I don’t believe you’ve lost Jamie Tartt!” – “You can’t lose Jamie Tartt!”
Jamie really did bring Roy and Keeley home to meet his mum (and Simon!), huh.
“It’s lovely to finally meet you both,” says Jamie’s mum to Roy and Keeley and that’s some small justice for Roy, surely, the fact that Jamie apparently talks about him (and Keeley) quite a bit too?
That shared look and smile between Roy and Keeley as Jamie carries his mum away, like oh, and he’s been so loved, fuck yeah.
Posters of Roy and Keeley on his childhood bedroom wall. (And shout out to the nonny who called this last week; I did not expect this! Still processing!) Let’s take a moment to appreciate what this must look like to Georgie and Simon? There’s Jamie at the door and oh, he’s bringing along these two people he’s had posters of since he was a kid. Can’t be a total surprise since he, you know, talks about them (probably a lot!), but even so!
But given what we’ve seen of mummy Georgie, I doubt she finds this strange at all? Of course her boy should go out there and date and be best friends and really complicated relationship shapes with that footballer and that model he’s always kept pictures of on his wall, whatever makes you happy, Jamie, her boy is a golden boy and deserves the best.
“You and me… sitting on Jamie Tartt’s childhood bed… being all fucking concerned about him and shit.” And it is weird, maybe, but Roy doesn’t look upset about it? He looks pleased! Pleased that he’s there with Keeley and that they’re doing this! This episode really is just Roy trying to lowkey woo Keeley while also being hellbent on taking care of Jamie and and and
Jamie’s little smile after he catches Roy and Keeley holding hands and they’re walking out the door.
Roy and Keeley meeting up and getting booze and then going to find Jamie to celebrate with him. (And you could have this forever, you know? It doesn’t have to be just tonight. And it won’t be.)

I should be doing other things, but instead I'm typing out a long ass post because I know we talk a lot about the throuple implications in Mom City from Keeley and Roy putting their whatever was going on on pause to have their undivided attention on Jamie and stalk him when he took off on his own, Jamie bringing them both home and his mom totally outing that he talks about them both all the time, the side by side posters in Jamie's room (and Jamie pretending like he has to introduce them as if they're not clearly both on his wall and his mom doesn't know exactly who they are), Simon deliberately giving them a tour and showing them the posters and pointing out that Roy's the one player that's poster always stayed, and the whole walking off arm in arm in arm to go get drinks together
And yes all that, but also I don't think we talk enough about "Mommy, I'd like to introduce you to Keeley, and this hairy prick's Roy." Not "You remember Keeley, and this hairy prick's Roy"
No, it's very clearly established that this is the first time Georgie is meeting either of them. And like season 1 Jamie absolutely fumbled Keeley, but he was quite clearly serious about her and quite clearly already a momma's boy and while the Keeley/Jamie relationship certainly had its flaws, it also was strong in a lot of ways. And Keeley was clearly very involved in every aspect of Jamie's life in like a codependent he wanted her around all the time kind of way
And yet Jamie never brought Keeley around his mom before and the writers felt the need to establish that and that no, he's bringing Keeley and Roy home and introducing them to Georgie and Simon for the first time together. Keeley and Roy might be feeling like they're third wheeling Jamie and his mom's moment, but neither of them is third wheeling Jamie and the other or any less important to Jamie historically or currently
And for that matter, even when Roy makes a move to try to get back with Keeley, Jamie isn't in the room and yet his presence quite palpably is (I mean Roy's literally trying to talk things out and get back with her while on Jamie's bed) and that's the point when things turn from the setup that Roy and Keeley are on the path to getting back together into no, that's not something they can slip right back into even though the feelings are still there... And then, there's Jamie, interrupting but not really and really just sparing them both the awkwardness of it and it's like a relief that he's there to intervene
And it's not an oh look, here's Jamie, the obstacle to the romance and Roy's romantic rival that Roy's annoyed to have around like early season 2. It's way more of an actual triangle than the usual love triangle drama that kind of scene would be and there isn't weird tension and uncomfortableness between Jamie and Roy after or Keeley feeling weird being around them
No, they all three happily leave together arm in arm in arm to go drink together. And that (and the whole episode) is very much that Roy tries to help Jamie and fix whatever's wrong with him and it doesn't work. Then Keeley the senior Jamie expert steps in and tries to help him and fix whatever's wrong with him and it doesn't work either. And it's only when they're both there together with him (and with his mom but I'm going to get to that aspect still) that Jamie starts feeling better and anything works. And then Roy tries to fix things with Keeley and it doesn't work then things are so much more natural and uncomfortable once Jamie's back with them because basically the whole episode is look any pair on its own isn't the answer and isn't working on its own anymore because they all three care about each other and are inextricably tangled up in a good way instead of the toxic way it was back when Keeley was pouring coffees together and hoping that would avoid a huge fight
And back to the Jamie for some reason not having brought Keeley around his mom or even having FaceTimed with her with Keeley in the room like look at my girlfriend thing. We know that Jamie's dynamic with his dad is fucked up and he didn't want people knowing about it or the extent of before they'd witnessed it and it became kind of apparent. So if he didn't introduce Keeley to his family and kept her separate from Manchester, he didn't have to get into that or worry about her hearing the shit his dad said or seeing him the same way. And we know that Jamie's bravado is a whole thing and like yeah he is that full of himself but it's also a shield too
And season 1 Jamie doesn't really let that bravado slip outside of the scene with his dad that he didn't expect anyone to witness, for like three seconds with Roy when he admitted that he had a poster of him before immediately swerving to toasting to the idea of Roy dying, and the scene when he burned his boots and let his guard down just to end up transferred and dial the abrasive cockiness up more after
And even when season 2 Jamie let people behind the bravado, it was usually to try to get something. And I don't mean that in a manipulative way, I just mean like there was something he wanted that was a carrot to make him dial back the cockiness and open up. Like when he realized he'd fucked up his career and went to Keeley for help. Or when he went to Ted to try to get back on the team. Or when he started acting differently around the team to try to get them to stop shunning him (and obviously also to try to be a better teammate and whatnot but like them shutting him out was the push that got him to do it). Or trying to convince Roy to coach him too
And then there's season 3 Jamie who is starting to open up to people and drop the bravado just because he wants to or wants them around when he feels like shit. And then there's Jamie catching Roy and Keeley stalking him when he's taking off on his own to go be sad with his mom away from the team. And instead of getting mad at them or telling them to fuck off or asking what the hell they're doing, there's no conflict at all. It's just okay, come on then
Like sure neither of them knew what to say or do to help him, but he knows they're worried and he knows they're his go to people outside of his mom, so sure, why not come along? And he lets them both fully into the last part of his life they weren't in yet and brings them both along. And that's the point that it goes from I don't know what's wrong, I just know I feel like shit to sure come meet my mom and my stepdad (who we never saw Jamie mention in the show and who at least Roy looked surprised existed) and watch me sulk on top of my mom and complain about every single thing that's upsetting me without putting on any cocky act or turning any of it into a joke. He's next to Georgie's Jamie Tartt shrine and it could have been a Roy and Keeley awkwardly listening to him talk about how great of a player he is scene, but no
Instead, it's Georgie being Jamie's biggest supporter but not caring at all about how Jamie plays (in a good way) and Jamie being at his most vulnerable walls down level. And it's Roy and Keeley being the ones a little uncomfortable with that shift and awkwardly sitting there eating Simon's baking while watching this while Jamie seems fully comfortable with them being there for all of this and he isn't even the one that suggests them going off somewhere else for a while
And anyway, I didn't mean to ramble for this long but I just think that says a lot more than if Keeley had been around Georgie before or if they'd been introduced in some happy cocky this is my mom and this is all the pictures of me she has up because I'm such a star kind of scene

It’s 5:30am here and who needs sleep when we can stay up and talk about s03e06 Jamie and Roy?
Friendly reminder, Jamie used to have Roy’s poster on his wall when he was a kid. To every young kid out there, the one on their wall was their hero, a role model that they strive for every single day. Jamie grew up thinking that someday, he’d be like Roy Kent. You know, the Roy Kent who played for Chelsea, which arguably the most successful club in London, the Roy Kent who won a fucking European Champions League. This precious and reputable UCL trophy is the dream of every footballer. Some would measure a footballer’s success by how many prizes they got, and believe me, this trophy is a rock solid proof.
Jamie is a great player with so much talent, he signed for Manchester City (a real deal in EPL), and he also made it to the team line up every damn time. MC is always known for their squad-depth in every position, and it’s not easy to always be on the starting XI list. I’d like to think that Jamie looked up to Roy a lot, he keeps training and training, with a hope til some day he could win trophy just like his role model.
Jamie finally got a chance to play alongside Roy. He must have been crazy about it. But their early days was not so easy. Jamie came to realise Roy had changed, he was no longer the one Jamie idolised so much as before anymore. He felt angry and disappointed. Jamie became the one in charge of the locker room, directly against the team captain. Things weren’t going well.
Luckily enough, the new manager came and steadily alternated the locker room tensed atmosphere. Both Jamie and Roy acknowledged their own problems, as well as the other one’s. They finally understood each other better. That hug, oi, it was like a big smash to the final concrete wall between them. It was not the action coming out of a spur of the moment. Roy felt the urge to comfort his team member, his younger lad, his friend. He knew a hurt Jamie needed that.
This season saw a further change in their relationship. They trust each other more and more. And this time, they even open to each other about their utmost vulnerable thoughts and memories. Roy and Jamie are not the type of people who would share their feelings to somebody else. Roy hid them under his rage, while Jamie just suppressed them because of his “dad”. For the first time, Roy admitted that he let out all of his anger on Jamie, sometimes for no reasons. And goshhhhhhhh, Jamie did not even question that, he shrugged it off immediately and literally said “For Grandad”. Such a beautiful char arcs from both of them. In return, Jamie also share some of his traumatised and heartfelt memories with his “dad” and mom. I don’t think he ever told that to anybody, even with Keeley or Ted. So this is a positive sign for their mental health, and I love to see men talking about their feelings like true heroes.
These football himbos are taking up spaces in my mind. And honestly speaking, I’ve been really sad and disappointed and depressed while watching an actual football club recently, and another lighthearted fictional football club is making my days a lot better. So guys, say thank you to Ted Lasso!

what tswift (or others) define the ot3/the legs of the ot3? i think renegade is a v. s2 roy keeley song!
YESSSS renegade is THE roykeeley s2 song to me. It is so perfect. I also think it works for the larger ot3 as well.
Anyway this is such a fun question and something I have already thought about at length because, well, I am me 😂 Here's my playlist (with a few bonus songs from other artists):
JamieKeeley
Now That We Don't Talk - This is post-breakup s2 jamiekeeley when they've grown distanced from one another and they only hear about one another through the press/Keeley is watching from the outside as Jamie burns his life up on Lust Conquers All. The "You part the crowd like the Red Sea, don't even get me started / Did you get anxious though, on the way home?" line is sooooo them, because they know one another beyond their public images and can see past the facade.
Gorgeous - they're both gorgeous people <3 enough said, really. But yeah this gives me biggg early relationship vibes when they first meet at a club or agency party or what have you. :)
Lunar Years (Maisie Peters) - I have had in my head the vague outline of a relationship-spanning jamiekeeley fic titled after this song for like 2 years lmao. lord knows if it will ever see the light of day. But this is my VERY favorite jamiekeeley song. It's about breaking up and getting along better for it afterward, but still sort of being in love, and EVERY LINE is about them my god. fav: "I'm a nicer person now I'm not your person, funny how that works, and funny that we're working now"
RoyKeeley
Renegade - (ultimate roykeeley song)
Everything Has Changed - s1 roykeeley. "Dust off your highest hopes" is sooo applicable to them because before getting together they both have kind of resigned themselves to meaningless relationships (Keeley) or no relationships (Roy) because they assume that love like that is unattainable for them. Then they get together and everything changes, and for both of them it's kind of their first truly serious, life-altering relationship. ahhhhhh!!
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - breakup RoyKeeley from Keeley's pov :( "the voices in his head called the rain to end our days of wild" "saw forever so he smashed it up" "I'll tell you that he runs because he loves me" "I felt more when we played pretend than with all the kens" wow i'm so sad.
How Did It End? - this is also about RoyKeeley's breakup and dealing with the fallout of a very public relationship with an undefinable/hard to explain ending. The reaction we see at the club of the team finding out has got to be just like...the tip of the iceberg :( Everyone they know wants to know Why this seemingly perfect couple broke up and Roy and Keeley can't even explain because they (well, Keeley in particular) still don't understand it themselves.
RoyJamie
I Can See You - This is the s2/s3 unresolved sexual tension royjamie song. they want to get it on soooo bad. soooo bad!! nobody can ever find out about that tho. obviously. 🤪 "I've been watching you for ages and I spend my time trying not to feel it"
invisible string - idk the soulmatism is so strong with these two tbh. Like, it's literally off the charts. something something the signed poster on Jamie's wall. 69. all along there was some invisible string tying you to me wasn't there!!
OT3:
cowboy like me - they get each other on a really deep level because they match each other's freak :) and they all have anxiety about forever but ultimately decide it's worth the risk for each other. "and the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to fuck this up"
delicate - to me this song is perfect for the beginning of their relationship when they aren't out or public and they all are trying sooo hard to hold on to this precious thing with one another because they know it means more than anything that's come before and they don't want to f it up again.
Long Story Short - it took them a long ass time to individually get their shit together and then all be on the same page as a unit, but they got there eventually! ❤️
Mastermind - Jamie literally masterminded the three of them oh my god. posters on the wall part 2. "What if i told you none of it was accidental, and the first time that I saw you, I knew I wanted your body." I mean, YEAH.
Shade of Yellow (Griff) - Okay, so this is my current favorite rjk song. it's soooo soft and simple and beautiful. their home is where the others are. they are one another's comfort and peace. i'm crying. "there's a light in your room and it burns like a shade of yellow / And it makes me feel sane in the head and I swear that's rare these days"
Isimo (Bleachers) - something something emerging out of your damaged past to a bright future with people who love you and are willing to help you carry the load. realizing you've survived. "I'd follow you down down down down to the water, way down to any kind of chance"

royjamie other woman (roykeeley fail marriage) fic idea i’ll probably never write but is still fun to think about:
alternate universe where jamie doesn’t join richmond until right before roy becomes a coach. somehow roy and keeley still got together (jamie and keeley never dated) and at this point they are unhappily married. let’s say they got together when roy wasn’t slowing down quite as much but as time went on keeley had to deal with roy becoming increasingly moodier as retirement approached. same things happened with him clinging too much after he retired which causes the argument in the show but they don’t actually break up. their marriage gets more and more strained but they keep going through the motions even though it’s becoming increasingly apparent they just aren’t compatible
THEN
jamie joins richmond (same time as he came back from city in the show) and when roy joins the coaching staff he hates jamie because he represents the career he just lost…. but also because he’s so fucking hot to roy that it makes him worried that he’ll do something he shouldn’t so he ends up avoiding jamie.
they have the little “why won’t you coach me” thing and then roy realizes he can’t just avoid jamie forever so he starts working with him but it’s tough because the more time he spends with him the more he wants to take him home and plow him into the mattress
they eventually start up their private training. they develop their weird psychosexual relationship until roy finally snaps and they end up fucking ❤️ jamie feels kind of bad cause he knows roy is obviously married but it’s also ROY KENT who he had a poster of up on his wall so he justifies it that roy and keeleys marriage was broken before they even met
ultimately jamie becomes roy’s side piece and roy goes a little insane with guilt but 🤷🏻‍♂️ what are you supposed to do when you have a beautiful puppyboy who follows you around and begs to suck your dick at ever possible opportunity???
(also all throughout this keeley has been having an affair with rebecca <333)
xx @puppyjamie
(i may have more ideas about this that i will share later…)
I’m OBSESSED omfg 💘💗💗💓💘💘💞💞💕💘💗💓💗💘💘💘💖💖💘💘💕💘💓💗💖💘💘💝

Rewatching jamie in early season 1 is so hard cause like. I wish they knew what he was going through. I remember being young and hurting and so mean because of it. And it was so not okay of me. But also, I'd see everyone else allowed to be silly and sensitive and emotional and mediocre and I wasn't allowed to be anything but tough, and it made me so mad. And I just want to hug him and tell him I get it, and that it's gonna be okay.
Hi Anon
Thank you for that insight and hearing your experience.
I get you completely - re-watching S1 just reminds me that we do not know what's going on inside other people or know what has happened to them. I think it's why I love that scene with Roy in S3 where he's doing the press conference after Isaac's aggression to the abusive football fan.
'to do what he did today, even though it was wrong, I give him love.'
Knowing some of Jamie's background (and I wish we got more to be honest, but's an ensemble cast with multiple characters who have complex issues and/or dynamics, so it's limited in that regards) and seeing S1 again, it's such a different viewing and understanding of a character and makes Jamie so much more human and real. Jamie isn't just a prick. He's a prick with trauma and reasons.
I don't see cocky prick Jamie who thinks he's best who never passes because everyone else is shit - I see Jamie, who's terrified of what his dad will do to him if he isn't dominant.
I don't see a Jamie who doesn't celebrate his teammate's birthdays and eat cake - I see a Jamie who's been told to treat his teammates as 'assists' and has diet plans that don't include cakes or pastries because he has a weight he needs to keep.
I don't see a Jamie who doesn't want to greet his new teammate - I see Jamie, who flinches at fast movements and doesn't trust easily. I see a Jamie who's realised he's not their only ace anymore, and that terrifies him because of the implications that may have with his father (Imagine the writers hadn't gone down the rehab route for James Tartt Snr in S3 and how Zava's introduction and place in the team would have caused some serious consequences for Jamie, both psychologically and physically).
I don't see the Jamie who cockily refuses to 'practice' - I see a Jamie who shifted into 'I don't like angry men shouting at me' (and at some point pre-canon, I imagine Jamie's hero-worship of Roy was destroyed and tainted when he met 'Shouty, I don't give a shit-Roy-Kent And I'll take out my negative emotions on you, even if you deserve it or not' and Jamie's poster hero , who he'd imagined stepping out of the wall and putting his dad through the said wall was gone and Jamie's automatic response was to be a prick in defence/offence.)
I don't see a Jamie who brought two dates to the auction - I see a Jamie who wasn't sure if he could get Keeley to bid on her own boyfriend, so he brought another plus one instead, terrified that he'd have to have sex with an older woman like those ladies behind the glass windows in Amsterdam. Watching that episode back really icks me out, and seeing Jamie's response back when I first watched it, you could mistake Jamie's reaction to both Keeley and Roy's 'teasing' as Jamie just being mocked and teased, but re-watching it, I see a Jamie who's really uncomfortable with the attention he's getting and upset at his rival and girlfriend cruelly mocking him (of course, they don't know about his experience in Amsterdam) but I'm always struck at how Jamie walks away from the table, from the both of them, because he's upset (and it kind of hits me even more, 'cause I think that Jamie doesn't even know why he's so upset with how much he's suppressed the memory, the implication of what his father orchestrated despite his tender age).
Although, I think they could have had a bit more Jamie and Ted interaction or reflection on Jamie's relationship with his father and/or trauma (because there did seem to have link to Ted's panic attacks, especially when you consider Ted's panic attack during the match in S2, because you can hear Jamie's dad verbally abusing Jamie from the S1 final as Ted spirals, which was really interesting and I only realised this recently) I really do appreciate Ted's "I promise you there is something worse out there than being sad, and that's being alone and being sad. Ain't no one in this room alone" sentiment, but I just really wished he'd reached out to Jamie, because Jamie wasn't just alone and sad, he was scared and traumatised, and although he didn't verbalise it in S2, he obviously had no safe places or people he felt he could turn to, so he not only left the profession he loves, he left the country.
Anyway, my ramble is over.
In summary, you only really get a better understanding of Jamie by re-watching Season 1 and seeing him in a different light after watching S2/S3.

this is my dream ending:
ep 9 = jamie and/or roy coming out. keeley breaks up with jack. jamie helps get roy and keeley back together somehow.
ep 10 = man city, baby! we meet jamie’s mom and learn more about his relationship with his shitty dad. roy and keeley are holding hands in his room. (??!!!) they discuss the roy kent poster on the wall and jamie’s crush when he was younger. the beginnings of a perfect ot3 relationship!
ep 11 = idk, plot set up?? starting to wrap up loose ends. maybe roy and keeley are giving it a go, but they realize that without jamie, their relationship has many of the same issues it had before.
ep 12 = richmond beats west ham to win it all! roy, jamie, and keeley confess their love to each other and they all get a happy ending!

Any “Ted Lasso” fans looking for something to tide them over until the new season premieres? And “the bear” fans looking a dynamic where two people have an unexplainable connection, tension, and palpable chemistry as we wait for season 2?
Well, you should watch Pitch!
If you haven’t seen Pitch, it’s this phenomenal and magical show that premiered in 2016 and only lasted one season. It’s a fictional show about the first female baseball player in the MLB and it was a show way ahead of it’s time.
Like, chef’s kiss shippers, y’all know how we spiral about how Sydney was a fan of Carmy’s, but didn’t want to let it show. And he like…becomes a fan of hers??? Well, that’s Ginny and Mike for you. As a kid, Ginny idolized Mike, and then gets to work with him (he’s a catcher and the captain of the team and she’s the pitcher.) Still carries his rookie card and had his poster on his wall when she was younger.
And Mike becomes a fan of her!
Both of them try to play it cool because they truly admire each other professionally and it shows, but their chemistry pops off the screen.
And Ginny is so damn good at all of this (and both not!). She’s a really good pitcher and is charming and knows how to juggle many thing, but we see what the pressure does to get and how it manifests and why it does. And we get it. She’s so smart and funny, but real! She doesn’t feel like a character, but a person with real flaws.
And you see how layered Mike is behind all of the bravado. He’s a walking human disaster, but you love him because he does try his best and is so supportive of Ginny!
Like I’m not going to even touch on everything because you have to experience this firsthand to get it!
(Ginny/Mike are called bawson. This isn’t confirmation as to whether or not the show hints at them or that they’re canon, but rather, the chemistry was just there and you’ll ship it regardless of the show’s stance. Lol)
And ted lasso fans, if you like tedbecca, you’ll like love bawson. But that’s not my sell to you guys, it’s about the relationships in this show. About how it’s not all or nothing and people are allowed to grow, change, and redeem themselves. How people work to get over past trauma and that everyone isn’t secretly out to get you—sometimes if you give them a chance, they can surprise you. It’s about mental health and the toll it takes. How we juggle responsibilities and deal with controversies. The old v the new and whether they have to work against one another or can work together.
The seasoned veteran and the hot shot new guy. Your allies at work and found family. The things we carry ourselves either because we have to or we feel that we’d burdened others.
And there’s more sports play here, but in a way that won’t bore you. Mike and Ginny talking on the pitcher’s mound and Mike giving her speeches. Or ginny taking control of shit because she can save herself.
Think of the strong badass women we see in Sydney, Rebecca, and Keeley and you have that in Ginny. Mike isn’t as grumpy as Roy, but he’s like a mix of Roy and Jamie. Lol.
If you’re one of my followers or mutuals and you trust my taste, DEFINITELY check this out. There are some shows I’m unsure of how people will receive, but almost everyone who has seen this show fucking loves it and are still heartbroken about it’s cancellation, including myself. People still literally reference this show for best shows cancelled too early, one of the best sports shows despite one season, and articles have been written yearly about how great and ahead of it’s time “pitch” was.
Check out the ten glorious eps on Hulu and tell me if I’ve steered you wrong or not.

Since I’m on a roll, here a few random Roy x Jamie (x Keeley, and a bit Colin) scenes I’d love to see on the show but that with 99% certainty won’t happen lol.
If you write fanfic, feel free to take my ideas, since I won’t write them.
#1: During a break in their morning training, Jamie vents about how Dani is worshipping Zava and says something along the lines of “This is pissing me off so much. Like, I had the biggest crush on you but I never kissed the ground you walked on! Except for that one time when I was twelve, and helped out as a ball boy when Chelsea was playing Man City and …”
Roy, taking some time to process. “Wait? The Fuck? You had a crush on me?”
And Jamie answers quite chill. “Are you going senil? I told you I had a poster of you on my wall as a kid.”
*gay panic sets in* *throws something into Jamie’s face*
“What the fuck, what is wrong with you?”
Roy fumbles. “Sorry, I just … don’t know why … I think I got startled?”
“YOU got startled? Ask me about it.” Shakes head. “You know, you really should figure out the why since … I’m not scared of you or anything. I know you would never actually … kill me. But it just is … triggering when you do stuff like that.”
The horrific realisation setting in. “Oh … OH.”
“You should try therapy. It helped me a lot being more … comfortable being me. And not … the boy me dad wanted.”
#2: This won’t happen but what if Roy is like “you need to do something for your core” and drags him to his yoga group and realises his mistake too late, when he scrambles to explain why he knows Jamie (”We, er, go to the same gym. And I thought you’d maybe want to meet him.”).
Then one of the ladies tells Jamie, how much Roy loved him in “Lust conquers all” and the camera is on Jamie’s face while he is trying not to burst into laughter, but then another one asks him why he went on the show and he gets all somber talking about his dad (something about his live being absolut shit – “The whole year had been shit. My girlfriend dumped me, my coach dumped me and all I had in ManCity was my piece of shit dad. I was at my lowest lows, in a very dark place mental health wise and just needed to get out”) – Roy being touched by Jamie’s openness and vulnerability – and then the ladies decide to go to the G-A-Y to cheer him up and while they are being there Jamie heads to the bathroom and sees Colin and Michael. But he doesn’t approach them, so that it doesn’t get awkward for Colin, does never mention this to Roy or anyone, until after Colin’s coming out, when he tells him how proud he is and accidentally slips. Something like “I’m sorry it didn’t work out with Michael and you. You were cute together.”
“But you never met him.”
And he has to come up with some explanation (he can’t say he was there with Roy’s yoga besties, since the yoga besties are Roy’s big secret)
And when Colin wonders why he kept it a secret: “You never told me so I thought it was better to give you the time you needed, instead of forcing you.”
#3
I have a need for a Karaoke scene where someone, Jamie would be awesome – everyone expects him to be shit but he slays it –, sings “Into The Unknown” as a call back to the first season having Rebecca sing “Let it go”. (Or “Show Yourself”, which is more of a queer coming out anthem, but probably not the kind of song Jamie would chose to sing at Karaoke)
And it would also fit in a way, since Jamie kind of is a foil to Rebecca. Like they were both residential assholes in the first season because of the abuse they suffered and both made a heel-face-turn due Ted’s and Keeley’s influence.
#4
Okay, so onto one of my Roy x Jamie x Keeley scenarios!
Like many suggested, Jamie tries to help fixing Roy’s and Keeley’s relationship.
After Roy not wanting his comfort, he checks in on Keeley and offers his help. Like the good friend he is, he wants to make the two people that mean the most to him, happy.
He essentially parent traps them by inviting them to meet him at his childhood home while they’re in ManCity, so that Roy and Keeley have a opportunity to talk about their feelings. While they’re talking in his old bedroom, he anxiously waits in the living room.
Roy and Keeley talk about their break up, the actual reasons and Keeley, who is still so torn between Roy and Jamie, reluctantly asks Roy, whether they should try to get back together.
And then Roy fesses up and tells her that he loves her, that he wants her back, but that he has just figured out and accepted the fact that he is in love with Jamie and it would feel dishonest to just ignore that and go back to how things used to be. Since he is not the person he used to be and Jamie’s the reason he changed. And that is why Roy looks so vulnerable and emotional in that scene, almost as if he has cried?
(Bonus - and now I’m heading into “no way this happens, but lol” – what if at some earlier point Jamie and Roy hooked up for whatever reason, like accidentally getting high eating space cake in an Amsterdam coffee shop? Something where they can go the next morning, “OMG how embarrassing, how could this happen, hahahaha, let’s never talk about this ever again”, and it is basically “I had sex with Jamie” but it’s Roy who says it?
And Keeley being like “That is not a funny joke” and him being “It is not a joke.” and then having the longest monologue in his live about how he fell in love with Jamie)
And Keeley, who is always supportive, is totally accepting and encourages him to tell Jamie. So he calls him and Jamie comes in and Keeley tells him, that they decided not to get back together and that Roy has something to tell him. Then she leaves.
They sit on the bed.
Roy points to the poster of him on the wall, that has been fixed with scotch tape. “You weren’t joking. But what happened to it?”
“My dad tore it down. Didn’t like that I had it. Wrong team, you see.”
“Oh.”
Jamie clears his throat. “Sorry it didn’t work out with Keeley. But maybe at a later time! What is it you want to tell me?”
But Roy panics and doesn’t tell him, instead goes on to thank him for the effort and tells him, that Jamie is his best friend.
Which is something that touches Jamie, because he always wanted to be Roy’s best friend. They hug, but Roy can’t hide that he is disappointed in himself, for not being brave.
Roy later texts Keeley, that he couldn’t do it, since he was too scared Jamie could turn him down, and now Keeley is the one trying to set Jamie and Roy up, constantly cheering him on, while Roy thinks, that maybe the best thing would be to set Keeley and Jamie up, since Jamie is the boyfriend she actually deserves, hilarity ensues for an episode or two, until after Colin’s coming out, when Roy finally is brave enough to tell Jamie and they start dating.
(I still have to figure out, how exactly they would approach Keeley to become a part of the polycule, but that definitely happens. Maybe Rebecca mentions something to Roy, after Roy and Jamie eventually come out to the team as a couple, and then Jamie and Roy ask Keeley out on a date?)

@teruel-a-witch asked
I would also like to ask h50 for the ship meme ;) (but if someone already did that, then Ted Lasso)
I answered for H50 here, and since this is fun here’s the Ted Lasso version:
otp: Roy/Jamie, because enemies to lovers is a sure thing to catch my attention, but I was completely hooked when Jamie revealed he had a poster of Roy on his wall as a teenager
favourite canon pairing: Roy/Keeley, because they’re cute; Rebecca/Sam, just because (it might have something to do with how so many people hate them for their age difference or other “moral” reasons and that just pisses me off)
worst pairing ever: Coach Beard/Jane, that’s one weird toxic relationship from what we’ve seen so far
guilty pleasure pairing: Ted/Coach Beard, because I can never resist the best friends to lovers trope; Keeley/Rebecca, for the same reason, but also because they’re sweet and adorable and happy with each other
a pairing you want to see more: Ted/Trent, just very curious where they’re going with Trent’s story but I’m convinced Ted will have his hands in it somehow
that pairing everyone likes but you’re like “lol no”: I don’t hate them or anything, but Ted/Rebecca is not super interesting to me
favorite non-romantic pair: oh boy where do I start? Ted & Jamie, with Ted as the father figure Jamie’s been missing his whole life; Keeley & Jamie & Roy friendship; Ted & Dr. Sharon friendship, Rebecca & Sassy & Nora, Uncle Roy & Phoebe, Baz & Jeremy & Paul from the pub
put a fandom in my ask and i’ll answer

This is going to be very much a hater comment on my blog so sorry in advance but i do find it very funny how many hoops people will try to jump through to pretend like Jamie barely matters to Roy and Keeley and that even the scenes that are very explicitly about Jamie's feelings for them/relationships with them are actually not about that at all but instead a "sign" for their popular m/f ship... like i saw someone saying the poster scene is actually about roy / keeley because roy's poster has a metal whistle next to it (he's allergic) and keeley's has a plastic whistle...signifying she's his cure??? babes the posters are on Jamie's wall because he was wanking to them both on the reg as a teenager! it's not that deep!

002 Jamie please!
How I feel about this character:  I have been reading fanfic for about 18 years now. Jamie Tartt and my desperation for more content about him is the thing that finally got me to write my own fic. It is worth nothing that despite my real life day to day meaning I am forever encountering and having to clean up after the decisions made by shitty men, so many of my favourite fictional characters are douchebag men who go on redemption arcs. Maybe because it rarely happen in real life. Anywho. With Jamie I was entertained and intrigued by him right from the start, and then Two Aces happened, and you start to learn more about him underneath the surface, and what led to him to be the person he is. And then in series 2 from very early on you can see him trying to grow and learn and change. I love seeing him becoming the best version of himself, and his relationships with the people around him growing stronger and deeper. I cannot wait to see who season three Jamie is. All the people I ship romantically with this character:  Roy and Keeley Roy My non-romantic OTP for this character:  Dani Sam My unpopular opinion about this character:  I do not see him and Ted as having a father/son relationship. I do not think they are that close, and I do not think they really understand each other all that well. I think Jamie wants to please Ted as his manager because it means he's doing well as a player. I believe Ted is triggered by Jamie because of Ted's guilt and daddy issues. I don't think it goes deeper than that for either of them. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Outside of him coming out and dating Roy or Roy and Keeley (very unlikely) I would LOVE for series three to have a little World Cup arc and for Jamie to be called up to the England team. If they could get a cameo with my fave Gareth Southgate that would be the dream. my OTP: Jamie/Keeley/Roy my cross over ship: I am really struggling with this. Sometimes Jamie/Roy gives me slight Brian Kinney/Justin Taylor vibes just with younger energetic brat and older pretends to be grumpy and unfeeling partner so. Brian Kinney and Jamie Tartt can have a little bit of sex as a little treat. a headcanon fact: I mean the fandom wide headcanon is of course that not only did Jamie have Roy's poster on his wall, but he used to jerk off it, so that one is a given to me too. The other one is very specific to me, but I have basically spite written myself into it. In the show Jamie uses the wrong word a couple of times when quoting a saying or idiom. Because of that there is a real trend for fic to at best have Jamie do so many malapropisms, a ton of which don't even make sense, and at worse write him as basically a brain dead two year old. I really hate it and it is definitely something that tends to lead to me noping out of a fic. However in the show he also correctly references books on three occasions that I remember off top of my head: Jekyll and Hide, A Christmas Carol, and of course Harry Potter. Because of that I wove an entire thematic thread about Jamie becoming a book worm in one of my fic, and it's not just stuck that Jamie does like to read actually, and a pretty fucking varied list of books. And it's now sort of become an actual headcanon for me.

My friend! You came back! :)
I hope you have been busy doing wonderful things and not anything bad. How are you? Is spring where you are?
I am really enjoying OFMD, it is hilarious and very cute, i loved the episode with the french nobles and how Edward watched Stede is just *chef's kiss". The pining, the self doubt, their past... Just love it and i am excited for the last episodes and for the next season too :) which are your favourite characters/storylines?
I hope Spanish Jackie will have more scenes bc she is hilarious and the show needs more women (also, i like very much Stede's wife, she really tried and i hope she will have her own happy ending, maybe with a lighthouse keeper).
Also, i am not very much into dc/marvel etc, but i absolutely adored Peacemaker (i know in the last Suicide Squad he was really hated, but trust me, this show is heartbreaking while being crass and very action packed). And Vigilante is a murderous kitten.
Ok, now, about KxK, have you read Misbehavin' by Amuly? Bc i really recommend it.
I think Keefe is living with Kelvin but still keeping his flat. They are totally not having the direct cohabitation talk, just once day Kelvin says it's stupid to pay for a flat he is never in while everything Keefe owns is magically already in its drawer. It's just more convenient!
I imagine his apartment a mix of his two lives: he has still bands posters on his walls (but only christian bands, mind you), but also a crucifix, amatorial and saccarine drawings of Jesus and many many photos with Kelvin, with Kelvin and the kids at the summer camp, with Kelvin and the other people who work with the Gemstones etc. What do you think?
Also, what is your dream AU/headcanon about Keefe/Kelvin?
I always talk about what i would like to see/read but i would like to know what you would like :)
It's truly intriguing me how they met and surely if the show will do a flashback about them it won't be a lame first meeting at all. Fingers crossed indeed! :D
Sincerely, after the BJ's baptism i am terrified about a potential solemn wedding between him and Judy XD The outfits would be so extravagant, maybe a concert during the reception? Surely a fistfight. It was a bit strange of Judy not having a church wedding bc she looooves being in the spotlight.
Another thing, i would loved if Tiffany would have stayed with her and Bj, they were so lovely together and Tiffany definetely needs a mother. But Baby Billie is hilarious and i look forwards to see more of him:D
Oh, i didn't know about Roy! Thank you for telling me! <3
I imagined they are all based on some players, but i don't know anything about soccer >.< Yes, his characterization is done wonderfully, he is very three dimensional and his relationships with Phoebe and Keeley are very sweet. I was a bit bummed about the turn their love story is taking lately but i have faith in the writers and even if they will break up (i hope not!) it would be well, with a serious reason. I really like Colin, he is such a Himbo and his friendship with Isaac (another favourite! Loved the scene of the haircut and his clothes! And the Santa's drip, it burned my brain cells).
I wouldn't say Nathan is one of my faves, but his arc is really well made and complex, i dig it. Being him isn't easy but also he ruined what made him a better version of himself. Your opinion?
And yes, Keeley and Rebecca are so wholesome and gentle with each other, a true friendship <3
I begun too, as a 12/13 year old teen, with the HP fandom, at the time in my native language (now i can't read ff in it, nope nope nope) but i was a Hermione/Draco fan, then a Drarry one and ultimately a Draco/Ron ;D After, i specialized in minor characters and i just love my Woods/Flint (if you are interested, check yourtokentrophywife, she is the best), Neville/Blaise and Seamus/Theo (when still i wasn't reading in english, there were many stories about them on my first ff website, but on AO3 they are not shipped a lot :( )
I also was very invested in Hetalia, albeit i read two mangas and saw like three episodes and only after having been captured by the fandom. Very embarassing now >.<
A popular fandom i was never invested in is surely the Supernatural one (never seen an episode) and i never cared about the angel or the hunters at all, their faces are boring XD
What about you?
I am fine and i love that now i bike everyday to work, half bc of the gas price but half bc the days are so lovely and sunny *.*
Very very excited about your story, i know you have worked hard on it and i am sure your efforts will be repayed :) When you will post it, i will the first to comment on it <3
Hi Anon! Sorry again for the late reply, work has me busy. I'm good thanks, how are you? It is Spring where I am, we're getting quite good weather for once lol. I feel like I haven't seen the sun in years 😂
OMG how good was Our Flag Means Death?! I was beyond emotional, I binged the whole thing in time for the 2-part finale and it was just so satisfying. They actually did a ROMANCE. I never thought I'd see the day, tbh. So beautiful 😍 God, I really love everyone. The ensemble cast is just perfect! But if I HAD to choose favourites, I'd say...Frenchie, Jim and Olu, Lucius and our boys, Stede and Ed. They're all just so interesting and funny and quirky and a joy to watch. SPANISH JACKIE!! I loved her. I adore Leslie Jones so I can't wait to see more of her in s2 hopefully! Fingers crossed! I particularly enjoyed the treasure-hunt episode, the "this is happening" line had me rolling xD And it was hilarious that they did the clothes swap in their FIRST episode together. Bonkers. Loved it. I really liked how they resolved the storyline with Stede's wife Mary too (what a badass lol) and I'm glad they both got their happiness. I'm actually in the middle of writing a Blackbonnet (Blackstede? What is the official ship name?) fic that's almost done so watch this space 😉
Ooh I've been meaning to watch Peacemaker, it's been on my radar for a while now. Full disclosure, I'm not really a DC watcher either, I haven't seen the new Suicide Squad movie, but pretty much know everything that happens in it lol. Glad you're enjoying it!
Yay more Kelvin x Keefe fics, so exciting! Oh, I completely agree, I think that's exactly what Keefe's apartment is like. Just an amalgamation of his past and present lives with an extra-Christian twist. I imagine he and Kelvin did their whole CSI deep-clean of his house haha. And yeah, I was sad we were robbed of an over-the-top Judy wedding tbh. It could have been Covid-related why we didn't get that scene maybe? But fingers crossed we could get a renewal-of-vows ceremony in the future that'll be just as bonkers. I also loved Aunt Tiffany and her and Judy's dynamic so I definitely want to see more of her and Baby Billy (and Lionel) in the future.
I also love Roy's relationship with Phoebe in Ted Lasso. It's so sweet to see him be a doting uncle (especially as her dad is absent) to her and their dynamic as a trio with Keeley. They're like a little family. I'm also disheartened by the turn in his relationship with Keeley but hope they figure it out in the end. I really liked how they handled Nate, tbh. I think it was a good exploration of how insecurity and power can go to people's heads and sometimes lead them down a bad path. But I also believe that he'll find his way back eventually. Do you ship Ted x Rebecca?
Haha love a multi-shipper in fandoms! I bounced around myself in the Harry Potter one. A big one for me was Wolfstar - Remus x Sirius, I dabbled a bit in Drarry later on too before moving on. I haven't read any from HP in years but miss it every so often.
Oh wow - that's impressive tbh! I watched Supernatural back in the day. I remember sitting down and watching the pilot back in 2005 when I was 14. I eventually stopped watching I think in s8 or 9 though? It's been on my periphery due to Tumblr so I've kept up.
Hmm...a big fandom I never got into really was The Mandalorian even though I love Grogu and Pedro Pascal and have seen so many gifs and clips that I feel like I have seen it lol xD It's in my to-watch list but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Oh wow cool, I'd love to be able to bike around. I'd say you're getting loads of lovely sun and fresh air.
Hope you like the fic! There are more to come soon hopefully! Hope you've a good week 😊<3

Two things about Jamie's room- I love that literally every single thing in the room is football themed. That boy has lived and breathed football his whole life and his now life being football and two of the people who love him the most being the two on his wall since he was a kid is absolutely sending me spiralling. And 2, maybe a coincidence, did you notice the the whistle and the trumpet thing hanging between the Roy and Keeley posters having rainbow ribbons
I love this a lot too, how adorably football themed it all was. And the posters! Gosh, that was so cute!
He likely had Roy’s poster up since being a kid and Keeley’s followed when he was a teen, and they stayed up the whole time 🥰. And Jamie is just the king of manifestation!
And yes, I noticed the rainbow ribbons and that they were triangle shaped, and I try very much to be normal about it, but failing 🤣
(For everyone thinking it weird, that Jamie possibly started dating Keeley or got first interested in her because she was his parasocial teenage crush, that is basically the story of Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet. So it may not be the most mature motivation, but still be something that can grow into a serious relationship.
And my headcanon for why it is still up and he didn’t take it down after they broke-up is, that Jamie wasn’t close with Georgie during the first season—which would also explain why he didn’t introduce her before—and likely the beginning of the second, because he had too much of his dad in his head and likely felt ashamed, thinking she wouldn’t be proud of him anymore or something, since I can’t see him spiral so badly that he’d leave Man City for reality tv, if he had Georgie as a fixture in his life.
And when Jamie finally reconnected and went back to his childhood home and saw the poster of Keeley, he kept it up for nostalgia, since he still cared so much about her. And keeping this poster up is different to showcasing her pictures in his locker or keeping nudes she sent him while they were dating, since this was something that had been there before they even met. And it was an image Keeley had taken knowing that a lot of people would see it. So I don’t feel like he had any obligation to take it down.)
