On My Mind // Jorja Smith x Preditah

UK grime and ‘90s R&B have found a cozy harmony with Jorja Smith lazily sensual vocals in her hit collab with Brummie producer Preditah. On My Mind amps up the positive in a relationship that’s gone down the drain, with Jorja finally coming out of a lovestruck haze. The quick bpm keeps you on your toes and tapping away, but it’s still acceptable to just groove along with some shoulder-shake action. I’d recommend the acoustic version of this song, which fits more precisely within her menu of soulful R&B tunes with stunning basslines, but I’ve properly replayed this song for nearly two weeks in a row, and can’t find any reason to change the track. Shuffle this with some M.O and Anne Marie, and you’re ready to wind the clock back. 

I first heard this song in an edgy-but-classy cocktail bar in Bonn which had a soundtrack en pointe with fellow future chill feel-good acts like FKJ and Tom Misch. H/t to the excellent folk over at Oxford Liquid Culture!
