I've never been a fan of 'fix-it fics' because I loved the movies and don't think they need fixing. However, I do have ideas about what could have made them 'better.' This story takes place after The Last Jedi and is full of feelings and fondling. Sure, The Rise of Skywalker would have been a bit different had this happened, but certainly not in a bad way.
