between the lines of fear and blame
Chase and Donald both owe each other an apology. Takes place after Lab Rats vs Might Med
Chase knew that Douglas was right when he all but demanded that he get checked out by the medical staff when they arrived back at The Academy; he had almost died multiple times and had the energy literally sucked out of his body all in the span of twenty-four hours. If Douglas hadn't sent him down there, he likely would have made the trip himself.
What he hadn't expected was his blood to boil in a swirl of anger when he saw that Mr. Davenport was sitting on one of the beds, a solid black eye patch covering his right eye.
"Chase," he stood and approached, but stopped short as Chase took a step back.
'I'm so mad at you,' he thought to himself, biting back the anger on his tongue, 'this whole this is your fault and you think you can just apologize and I'll forgive you like always, but I could have died because of your selfishness,'
"How are you feeling?"
"Fine." Chase knew that he could have made the simple statement without making sure there was a bite in his voice, but he knew that his body ached too much for him to care and nothing sounded better by spending at least twelve hours alone in his capsule.
'Please let someone else come in here.' He hoped with his entire being, praying that Adam or Bree would come in and break the growing tension between him and Mr. Davenport because anything was better than looking the man who raised you in the eyes and wishing that he was anywhere else.
"That's good," Mr. Davenport nodded as if the anger that was evident in Chase's voice was nonexistent, "I'm glad you're okay."
Chase couldn't even pretend to be civil as he sat down on the bed and allowed a poor nurse just trying to get paid to take his blood pressure while snapping, "yeah, I'm sure you are."
"Chase, you could have died," though stern, his voice was heavy with concern as he spoke, "I could have lost you and-"
"I'm aware I almost died, but you and I both know that this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't tried to profit off of me for your own selfish gain!"
"I wasn't trying to make you angry-" he knew that the only reason he was getting away with screaming like this was that Mr. Davenport felt bad, but he wanted him to feel bad for this.
"You don't think that not crediting me, leaving me out of negotiations, and blaming me for being manipulated by the Incapcitator wouldn't have made me angry?! I worked just as hard as you on the transponder, maybe even harder!"
The room was hauntingly quiet after that as the nurse moved slowly, most likely trying to avoid being on the receiving end of Chase's fury, which made him feel bad for her because she was a witness to the fallout.
In fact, it was only after she had left that Mr. Davenport finally spoke again, his voice much less stern, being replaced with a hollowness that made Chase's stomach clench for a brief moment out of sympathy.
"You have every right to be angry after how I treated you, you're right. But, making deals behind my back to get even? That is not happening again, no matter how upset either of us is. You're sixteen, we can talk things out civilly."
"Are you even hearing yourself?! I tried that and you didn't listen to me! You disregarded my opinions and used me for my smarts. But no, it's my fault as always. "You shouldn't have gone into a mission on your own", "you shouldn't have trusted Sebastian", "you shouldn't have been angry because I ignored you." It's always my fault, isn't it?"
"That is not true, Chase, and you know it," Davenport's voice was no longer laced with hollowness and the stern tone returned as he took a deep breath before going towards the door, "I am glad you're okay, and I am sorry for how I treated you. But I know that you're angry so you are not going to believe me when I say that. Douglas will be in here in a minute to stay with you."
And before Chase could say anything, although he knew that he'd probably continue to lash out, Mr. Davenport had left, leaving him in a sterile white and blue room on a hospital bed waiting to be cleared.
However, after the stress of the day from nearly being killed, going from one bed to another and his heart pounding to having his energy taken away, the last thing he wanted was to lay here with a bitter taste in his mouth from his words and his body aching with regret.
As he stared at the ceiling, he couldn't stop the tears that brimmed at the edges of his eyes from falling down the sides of his face.
"Whoa, Chase, breathe." Douglas's voice had never been one that Chase found comforting, but his body shook with regret and everything hurt and he was so. damn. tired. It was the perfect combination that made everything spill over as a rushing river fell from a height, making a waterfall. It fell so fast that he felt like he had run a marathon by the time he had finished explaining everything that had happened.
'But maybe that's the exhaustion.'
The room was quiet for a few moments while the tears dried uncomfortably against Chase's cheeks while Douglas' face was one of being deep in thought until he finally spoke.
"You know what I've learned about my brother at this point?" He paused for a moment, even though Chase knew that the question was rhetoric in nature, before answering his own question, "he is one of the most stubborn people I know and even if he knows that he is in the wrong, he'll defend his point till the end."
"So that gives him the excuse to treat me like that?" Chase demanded, the fury threatening to rear its ugly head again.
"Did I say that?" Douglas asked which quelled the anger, "My point is that you and I do the same thing. You probably would do it even if I had been the one to raise you. But, in this situation, you're both in the wrong. He should have heard you out and credited you, but you shouldn't have tried to make a deal behind his back and let a stranger into the academy."
Chase hated that Douglas was right. But it at least meant that the instant regret hadn't just been exhaustion.
"What should I do then?"
"Well, first you need some sleep. You look like you're about to keel over. No offense," Chase couldn't help but agree with him on that point if he looked half as bad as he looked, "after that, you and Donnie both owe each other an apology. A genuine one."
Chase nodded, noticing that the tear stains had dried up and disappeared, the only remnants of them being his stinging eyes and his heavy heart.
"Good." Douglas nodded back as the doctor came in, leaving their conversation in the past aside from Chase's thought that loomed in his head.
'How do I apologize to someone who can't see that they screwed up too?'
….
The fourteen hours that Chase had just to sleep were some of the best hours he had ever had and it was the best sleep he had ever had that he could remember; luckily for him, no one had to train for the next few days, giving him the much-needed break.
As he walked into the cafeteria, he couldn't help but smile when he was engulfed in a hug by Bree while Leo quipped from his seat, "what do you know? He lives."
Bree let go shortly afterward, allowing Chase to go over to the coffee machine and pour some into a mug before sitting with his siblings, "when are we supposed to start training back up?"
"You almost died and you want to get back to training?" Adam questioned before delivering a shoulder squeeze that commanded Chase to look at his older brother, "don't worry about it and go shark surfing."
With that, the oldest of the bionic siblings left and Bree only had to shoot Leo a quick glance before the youngest of them ran after him, shouting something about how he would pass out if someone got bit by a shark.
"So, did you talk to Mr. Davenport?"
Chase winced internally as he remembered the screaming match from the night before that had been pretty one-sided, "not really." He admitted and gave her the condensed version of events before letting out a sigh, "what do I do to fix this?"
"Don't turn it into a debate, for one. You tend to do that a lot. Also, actions speak louder than words. Showing that you're sorry will be better for both of you after you apologize. But, if you want my opinion, Mr. Davenport is the one who should apologize to you."
Chase nodded as he started to figure out exactly what he was going to say in his mind. 'Hopefully, this works.'
He didn't have to wait long to figure out how this was going to play out because soon enough, he was called back to the infirmary for a follow-up and there was Mr. Davenport, the eyepatch still on his face as he stood next to one of the beds.
'Here goes nothing.'
"Mr. Davenport, I-"
"Chase, I need to apologize," being cut off was mildly irritating but the fact that he was actually trying made Chase go silent with shock, "I shouldn't have blamed you for what happened. This one is on me."
"I should be the one apologizing," Chase responded, looking at the floor to avoid looking up at his father's face and seeing his mistakes in the form of an eyepatch. "I should've thought it through for a few seconds, but I just wanted to make you angry."
"Your hurt allowed you to be blindsided, the hurt that I caused you. Plain and simple, I never would have understood the inner workings of the transponder without you. It wouldn't have existed without your brain. You deserve credit, more credit than I gave you."
"But you got hurt because of me," Chase couldn't keep his voice from quivering as he finally looked into Mr. Davenport's eyes, "if I hadn't trusted another stranger-"
"You have to stop beating yourself up about Sebastian, Chase. It's eating you alive."
"I know, I know. It's just really hard to do that when I thought I could trust him. And now with this,…it makes me wonder if I deserve to be called the smartest man in the world. If I'm even good enough to have my bionics if they constantly fail me."
"Even with the bionics, you're never going to be perfect. None of you are, because at your core, you're still human and at least for a little while longer, you're still a kid. Even though you grew up fast, you are still a kid."
That finally burst the dam that had been holding everything up for months. Sebastian, his anger towards Mr. Davenport, and his fear about dying, all came crumbling down with those words that he had needed to hear for a very long time.
But he didn't have to cry alone, because he was almost instantly pulled into a tight hug and was allowed to press his head against a shoulder to let everything out in shaking, harsh sobs that made his chest hurt and his eyes sting.
But the gentle hand rubbing his back and the soft voice whispering "I've got you" made him think that just maybe, he was going to be okay.

this was originally going to be another one sentence joke post but fuck it, full rant time
it is unbelievably shitty that Leo barely got to be the hero
he shone in some smaller moments (immediately figuring out that Marcus is evil comes to mind) but when it come to heavy, high stakes episodes (Taken, Lab Rats vs Mighty Med, the Vanishing, most two-parters tbh) his contributions are basically nonexistent to the point that if he was written out of the episode, the plot would still function the same. which isn't great considering Leo is the main fucking character
and then even when he does get to do something important (breaking into Douglas' lair with the exo-suit in Bionic Showdown, getting Douglas to help fix Bree's chip), it's typically only a catalyst so another character can save the day (Adam's blast-wave is what destroys the lair, Douglas is the one that actually fixes Bree's chip)
letting him have little moments of glory in more laid-back episodes and then immediately throwing him to the side in favor of Adam, Bree, and Chase when a serious, recurring villain shows up just feels cheap, bad writing

DCOM’s
I posted a while back about DCOMs not just getting known stars from their channels any longer for the leads and wanted to go into it a bit more.
Before Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, I think Let it Shine was the last DCOM where the leads were not a major cast member in a known/popular Disney Channel/Disney XD show or franchise and that was in 2012.  After that there was:
Girl vs Monster: Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It), Brendan Meyer (Mr. Young), Luke Benward (prev DCOM Minutemen, recurring role in Good Luck Charlie)
Teen Beach Movie: Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally)
Cloud 9: Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie), Ryan McCartan (recurring on Liv and Maddie)
Zapped: Zendaya (Shake It Up) and Spencer Boldman (Lab Rats)
How to Build a Better Boy: China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) and Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats)
Teen Beach 2: Self explanatory
Descendants: Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie), Cameron Boyce (JESSIE)
Invisible Sister: Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World), Paris Berelc (Mighty Med) , and Karan Brar (JESSIE/Bunk’d),
Adventures in Babysitting: Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World), Sofia Carson (Descendants)
The Swap: Peyton List (JESSIE/Bunk’d), Jacob Bertrand (Kirby Buckets)
Descendants 2: Added China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) to franchise
Now: (a little repeat of my last DCOM posts with names)
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S: Milo Manheim (Only previous role: 1 episode Guest Star in a 2009 episode of Ghost Whisperer) and Meg Donnelly (Known for ABC’s American Houswife -which was her first starring role )
Freaky Friday: Cozi Zuehlsdorff (Disney wise: was in the pilot for Bits and Pieces - which ended up becoming Liv and Maddie,  which she ended up guest starring in for a couple episodes, recurred in Mighty Med, guest starred in K.C. Undercover) and Heidi Blickenstaff (originated same role in theatrical stage production, first movie), Jayson Maybaum (Raven’s Home) in supporting cast
Kim Possible: Sadie Stanley (Only role on IMDB is an extra on Game Shakers for one episode, and her audition for Kim Possible was her first ever  audition), and Sean Giambrone (Known for ABC’s The Goldbergs and was in the Disney XD original movie Mark & Russell’s Wild Ride). Issac Ryan Brown (Raven’s Home) in supporting cast

(note: also posting chapter xii shortly since this chapter is shorter, and the story hasn’t been updated for a while)
XI: The View from the Top
Joel has heard that there are two ways to experience Paris: as a welcomed guest or a bothersome nuisance – both dependent on how French people in the city see the person. He’s reminded of this as he looks out into the Seine, the buildings beneath as small as Lego blocks and the people as pathetic as gnats.
His son has asked him if he would have married the woman he once loved if he had the chance. He smiles. The answer is still the same: yes. If he had been like other men back then, so young and so crazy in love, he doesn’t doubt he would have taken Tasha here.
It’s so iconic. The city of love, with its romantic structures and quaint little shops. Cafés that people fall head over heels for.
Streets that smell like urine. Waiters that show extreme prejudice.
Doors shut so tight on people like him, the love of his life, and their son.
He leans onto the railing, the thrill and fear of possibly falling from so far up crawling through his veins. He breathes in the summer air, so thin and different up there close to the clouds.
Then, he closes his eyes.
The calm escapes him as he remembers what happened at his parents’ house. With that attack, the house is probably all but gone now. It fills him with anger that someone has taken even the place where his good memories are kept - but he files it away instead of feels it.
They will be made to regret. They will all be made to regret it soon.
Another wave comes in, this time as he remembers his nightmare coming to life several times: Slither cornering his son, Sonic Shriek’s attack resulting in Leo breaking and bleeding.
His eyes open, filled with fire that cannot be tamed.
Leo is not like him. Leo is like his grandmother, both of them like the wind. He’s comforting, soothing. Unpredictable but measured. Mostly gentle and easygoing.
Destructive if stirred the wrong way – but they’ve never gone to that point.
Joel used to be like his mother, too. RT said so several times.
However, things are different now. The wind that he probably was had been stirred over and over again, in fire and in forces as chilling and unforgiving as the deathly cold and devastating heat of space. The years after his parents’ deaths have continued to move and coalesce and form so much weight that it dragged him to the depths of obscurity.
He is not like the wind like RT said, no. If he had been like the wind, he would be more cautious – play everything as he planned from the beginning.
But he won’t, because he’s different.
He is a rogue star – one that acts and moves with no regard.
And tonight, he will burn life on Earth as everyone knows it.

What you should watch while staying at home part 2! AKA the Disney+ list based off the U.S selection.
Disney+
Lab Rats (TV show)
Rating: TV-Y7
Summary: A scrawny 14-year-old, having discovered his inventor stepdad has three bionic, super-powered teens living cloistered in a secret lab beneath their home, brings them out into the world.
Seasons: all four seasons and the spin-off are on Disney+, except for part 2 of Lab Rats vs. Mighty Med because that is a Mighty Med episode and Mighty Med is not on Disney+ at the time of this post.
Why you should watch it: Lab Rats was the reason I started writing fanfiction (if you're brave and like first person fics, my profile on fanfiction.net under the name Brentinator is full of cringe worthy fics) and it's probably the reason that I like action/adventure so much. It's super funny, it's very dramatic and it has good messages about family and teamwork.
Kickin' It (TV show)
Rating: TV-Y7
Summary: A once-in-a-generation young karate fighter named Jack joins the Wasabi warriors.
Seasons: 1-4 on Disney+
Why you should watch it: it's a comedy about teenagers in a karate dojo. Yeah, it's Disney so it is cringy, but it makes for some good laughs. Leo Howard is a little cutie, there's an episode with Billy Unger (Lab Rats) and Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats). There's some whump in a bit of it, and Jason Earles (Miley's brother in Hannah Montana) is the sensei. It's great.
Austin and Ally (TV show)
Rating: TV-Y7
Summary: Following the lives of Austin, an aspiring confident musician, Ally, a quiet talented songwriter and their two friends.
Seasons: 1-4 on Disney+, part two of the New Year's special is season 2, episode six of Jessie.
Why should you watch it: this was the first Disney Channel show I watched. Ross Lynch was my first celebrity crush, the first soundtrack was my first CD, and Trish gave me some representation as a plus sized woman/teen. It's pretty cringe, but the songs are all amazing and some of jokes are knee slappers.
Good Luck Charlie (TV show)
Rating: TV-Y7
Summary: The Duncan family are adjusting to the surprise birth of their fourth child, Charlie. When parents Amy and Bob return to work they put their latest addition in the care of her three older siblings.
Seasons: all seasons and the movie in between seasons 2 and 3 on Disney+, the second part of the Christmas episode in season 4 is in season 3 of Jessie.
Why should watch it: it's just a good comedy about a family with a lot of kids.
Brave (movie)
Rating: PG
Summary: Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
Why should you watch it: this movie holds a very special place in my heart. I watched this movie with my grandpa the Christmas before he died, and it's a memory I hold very close. It's also the best Disney princess with red hair, fight me. And my Merdia Halloween costume where I carried around my dad's bow and arrows can't be beat.
Chicken Little (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: After ruining his reputation with the town, a courageous chicken must come to the rescue of his fellow citizens when aliens start an invasion.
Why should you watch it: a lot of people say this is Disney's worst animated movie. But this is a very nostalgic movie for me, and some of the jokes can't be beat. Also, aliens.
Bad Hair Day (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: A buddy comedy about a high school tech-whiz whose prom day abruptly shifts into a wild ride across town, thanks to a down-on-her-luck cop and a jewel thief.
Why should you watch it: it's Ally from Austin and Ally and the mom from Good Luck Charlie trying to protect a missing necklace, and the two of them grow a motner-daughter type relationship during it.
Descendants 2 (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay try to adjust to life in Auradon, but Mal becomes overwhelmed with pressure and returns to her roots.
Why should you watch it: I love the Descendants franchise, but the second movie has the best songs, the best acting and the best villains. I'm obsessed with China Anne McClain and she's a great villain. But watch the first movie. After all, it has Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson and the late Cameron Boyce with some of their best acting being displayed.
High School Musical 2 (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: School's out for summer and the East High Wildcats are ready to make it the time of their lives after landing jobs in a wealthy country club owned by Sharpay and Ryan's family.
Why you should watch it: I'm not a huge HSM fan, but I love Sharpay and Ryan, and I love the movie that's on their turf. It also has my favorite HSM song in it, which is Bet On It. Probably watch the first movie first though.
Geek Charming (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: To win a school popularity contest, a high school diva permits a film club classmate to record her popular life, but the film starts documenting her decline instead.
Why you should watch it: this is possibly my favorite DCOM, and Sarah Hyland is so good at her job, it's insane. It's overshadowed by what happened between the leads afterwards, however.
How to Build a Better Boy (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: Teenage tech whizzes unwittingly use military software to program a robotic boyfriend.
Why you should watch it: probably why I like it so much is because it has China Anne McClain and Kelli Berglund, and it's a cool concept. Also has Noah Centerpiece if you like him as well.
Teen Beach Movie (movie)
Rating: not rated
Summary: Two surfing lovers, whose doomed relationship is nearing to a close, find themselves swept into a a dimension traversing wave that sends them into a beach movie musical in the 60's.
Why you should watch it: it's not a great plot, but the acting is pretty good and the songs are so amazing. Also, Ross Lynch. Not a huge fan of the sequel, but you should still check it out if you like the first one.
The Emperor's New Groove (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: Emperor Kuzco is turned into a llama by his ex-administrator Yzma, and must now regain his throne with the help of Pacha, the gentle llama herder.
Why should you watch it: this is the movie I grew up on. I knew all the quotes, I knew all the jokes, and one time I barged into my sister's youth group shouting "boom bam, baby!" It's so good and so funny.
Finding Nemo (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: After his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.
Why should you watch it: my other childhood movie. Also knew the quotes, and the jokes, and I spoke whale in church when I was very young. There may also be a Finding Nemo Irondad AU from me in the future.
Holes (movie)
Rating: PG
Summary: A wrongfully convicted boy is sent to a brutal desert detention camp where he joins the job of digging holes for some mysterious reason.
Why should you watch it: to this day this is the most accurate book to movie adaptation I've ever seen. Also, Madame Zeroni.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: Mickey, Donald and Goofy are the French three Musketeers.
Why you should watch it: well, it's what the summary says. The Mickey Mouse gang as the musketeers. And it has la pit in it. "No, not la pit!"
Pocahontas (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: An English soldier and the daughter of an Algonquin chief share a romance when English colonists invade seventeenth century Virginia.
Why should you watch it: is it historically accurate, no. But does it have one of the sweetest romances in the history of Disney, I would like to think so. And Pocahontas is just one of my favorite Disney princesses, even if she's not technically a princess.
Tangled
Rating: PG
Summary: The magically long-haired Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but now that a runaway thief has stumbled upon her, she is about to discover the world for the first time, and who she really is.
Why should you watch it: a carefree princess, a attractive and hilarious thief and the cutest little chameleon ever! The animation is gorgeous, the songs are amazing and Mother Gothel is such a good villain.
Pooh's Heffalump Movie (movie)
Rating: G
Summary: A Heffalump is heard trumpeting in the hundred acre woods. Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet are scared and rush to Rabbit's house for advice. Roo joins them and they all agree that Heffalumps are nearby after finding a huge footprint. They decide to set out on an expedition to catch the Heffalump. Roo is not allowed to come along because he is too little.
Why should you watch it: I watched a lot of Winnie the Pooh movies when I was little, because Winnie the Pooh is my mom's favorite Disney franchise, but this one is my favorite. It's so soft, and it has a good lesson that even if you're different, that doesn't mean you're evil or scary.
Read it and Weep (movie)
Rating: TV-G
Summary: A shy and retiring high school student develops a peculiar alter ego that changes her life forever.
Why should you watch it: it's about a writer in high school! This is one of my favorite Disney movies ever, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
Sky High (movie)
Rating: PG
Summary: Set in an era where superheroes are commonly known and accepted, young William Stronghold, the son of the Commander and Jetstream, tries to find a balance between being a normal teenager and an extraordinary being.
Why should you watch it: clearly, I like movies and shows about superheroes (I mean, I write for Marvel). This movie is about William, who hasn't gotten his powers yet, and has been lying to his parents that he has before he goes to superhero high school. The ending is weird, but I love this movie.

Note
could you write something about leo, adam, bree, and chase's reunion if they had been taken away in "you posted what?" ?
Hey!
Sure thing! At the moment, I'm still working on a redux/AU for Lab Rats vs Mighty Med, but I will try my best to get to it asap.
For the meantime, is there anything specific you want in it? Did you want it to be a happy ending, bittersweet ending? I want to try to write something different (from the ones already in existence), so it'd more than likely be on the light side, but if you prefer darker we can go with that too 😅

(tw?: foster care discussion)
Huh. You know what just came to me? What if all this time, Leo actually isn't Tasha's biological son? What if he was a baby that Tasha ended up adopting?
My friends and I were just having a conversation about fostering children and how an adoption process would go (we know a few friends who had been excellent foster parents before), and tonight, while replaying that conversation, it made me wonder about the possibility of Leo being in the system once.
Because think about it: prior to her marriage to Donald, Tasha and Leo had the same last name - which fits into the situation of a single person adopting a child.
(I submit this further proof: Rose's last name is also Dooley. It was weird to me how Thelma Hopkins was credited as Rose Dooley since Tasha's maiden name would have been changed by marriage, but apparently, canonically, there was no such event.
Tasha was born a Dooley and continued a Dooley before Donald.)
Another thing: Tasha's always been way too young to me. Donald is canonically somewhere in his mid-ish to later 40's when the show was airing, but we never got an age with Tasha. If we go by Angel's age (and, honestly, by how young Tasha looked), I'd put her in her very early to mid-30's.
There are only two possibilities, of course. One is that if they were related by blood, Tasha had Leo when she was 19 and likely out of wedlock (which, if true, is another evidence in the growing pile that proves the show had been lowkey built on and with stereotypes).
But another is that if she did foster/adopt him, she was 19 at the time (CA foster parenting requirement is minimum 18) and he was a baby. OR, if she finished school first for broadcasting + worked a bit to build her career, she was give or take 26 or 27, and kid!Leo was 7 or 8.
Another canon fact that would align with this theory is that in the beginning of the show, Leo made a comment about "hearing voices." Sadly, kids in the system at times end up in abusive households. If we go by this theory, that he was a foster child once, then his comment would make sense.
Before Tasha, he was placed some time ago in a pretty bad home.
BUT, with that said, I have no doubt that Tasha worked hard to find a therapist that worked with him. She obviously did her part too because Leo apparently stopped hearing the voices.
I mean, whatever the truth actually is, Tasha had been a great mom. She worked hard to provide for her and her son. She showered him with much love that he thrived, even when it was just the two of them. She brought up a good kid! Leo was bright, friendly, generally kind, and was accepting of others.
Leo was a great young man. He had real character.
And that's in good part due to Tasha's hard work.
I just find it a very intriguing idea, Tasha being a foster mom to Leo then one day just not being able to contain the love she had for him that she decided to adopt him.

Wild TV show theory # ? : The Lab Rats vs Mighty Med special was actually a competition between the creators of Lab Rats and the creators of Mighty Med. It was made to determine which show gets to stay and absorb the other.
I've been holding onto this theory for YEARS now, and the relative silence in the Lab Rats tag kind of inspired me to just talk about it 😬

At first, it seemed like it was a joke, but with how many posts I've seen on this...
No, Chase is not younger than Leo
Not only is that not supported by canon, but it also discredits Chase in a way? One of the best things about the siblings' relationship (first few seasons anyway) was that there was a bit of a balance: Leo was there to introduce Adam, Bree, and Chase to the real world and help them figure things out, and Adam, Bree, and Chase were there to protect Leo and help him figure out how it's like to be in a bigger family and have older siblings hold him accountable for things.
One of the things Chase learned from having Leo around is how to be a proper big brother - different from how Adam was to him. (And Chase was a very good one, too.)
And in case someone wants to come after me and argue - first of all, don't. We're in the middle of a pandemic. You're tired, I'm tired. Honestly we're all too tired to do something that exhausting.
Second, you really don't want to know what taking something considered as 'cute' and 'lovable' from a minority character and giving it to someone not a minority who doesn't even need it makes this all look like to the rest of us.
That said, listen: it doesn't make Chase any less lovable if he isn't the youngest. Despite everything that he turned out to be (really, retconned to be 😒) in LREF, he was an all-around great guy in Lab Rats! He had a good heart, he was smart, and he put the needs of others above his own.
Until season 3B and 4 came along, he was one of the characters I truly liked.
He was fantastic already!
So don't worry - it's absolutely okay if your favorite character just happened to be a middle child. There's nothing wrong with them. Middle children are great, and we love them.

Had a dream where Disney XD has released new episodes of Lab Rats, and instead of it being all about Adam, Bree, and Chase, the mini series focused on Leo, Douglas, and a remade Marcus who's good instead of evil.
So you can imagine my disappointment when I woke up five minutes into my binge watch 😒
