the issue with ttpd personally is that I love some of the songs but sadly I've been force-fed her personal life so much, these details keep coming and leaves a bad taste in my mouth

"So high school" is a cute love song, but it's about our xenophobic racist king tk

"I can fix him" and "daddy I love him" have some elements I like but it's about mh and her getting offended she's being held responsible for her problematic actions

"guilty as sin?" is one of my favs, but it reads very different when you know (unfortunately) the context

"so long, london" is amazing, but just like "renegade" she blames joe alwyn for having mental health issues, but also out them to the world which is the worst part of it all

wishing I didn't know the context, but it is practically impossible to engage in any taylor swift space without knowing

i thought "hang in there" was an odd thing for irving specifically to say - not really in line with his typical phrasing, especially as effectively his last words. and then i remembered a post i saw a couple days ago pointing out this poster in the break room, of dylan "hanging in there" to keep the overtime contingency active. irving's trying to hint to them that they can still bring him back using the OTC, and that they shouldn't let his loss quash their rebellion.

of course, he doesn't know that the security room isn't there anymore. only dylan knows that.

I see you all saying that Sirius is the pretty much the only one with 'Reg/Reggie' nickname privileges and I raise you: The obligatory sibling-assigned stupid nickname that nobody else uses bc he already goes by a better nickname everywhere

Most people can get away with shortening his name to 'Reg' bc of laziness/simplicity (he gives up trying to correct them after a while) and a few friends and family can manage a 'Reggie' in the right situation (it's thin ice though) and at some point Sirius decided he wanted a stupid nickname to use when he chose to be annoying bc why did everyone just settle for the easiest one?

Enter: Lulu and Regsy. Possibly the two dumbest nicknames there are.

Literally nobody else uses them bc 1) they sound ridiculous, 2) he'd hex them, and 3) who would even think of such silly nicknames?

Sirius uses them though. Not frequently, he usually says Reg like everyone else or full names him when he's angry.

But when he wants to mess around? Suddenly it's' Hey Regsy, can I ask a favour,' 'OI, LULU LMAO' Obviously Regulus finds it INSUFFERABLE. Whenever he hears Lulu (he HATESSS this one) he knows he's gonna get something thrown at his face or he's about to be bullied into an early grave. When Sirius pulls out the faux-sweet little 'Regsy' he's being asked to cover for him or lend him something. He is forever glad the names don't catch on with most people.

Stop. Stop defending taylor swift for things she did. Stop defending her for associating herself with a racist, sexist, antisemitic piece of shit, and CONTINUING to surround herself with people like that. Stop trying to make excuses and put down the feelings of poc fans during that time. Stop blaming people for holding her accountable to the words SHE said.
