Back at it with my silly Arcane/LoL Stuff !!

I’ve never actually see Alita Battle Angel, but I saw some models/Dolls people made with the porcelain body version of Alita and got struck with an Idea.

LoL Viktor, before they fully replaced him with The Arcane Machine Herald (for whatever reason?), but a mix between him and the porcelain vessels Arcane Viktor makes and controls in S2!!

Honestly think it’d be really neat to see a mix between them, because I think it’d make for a neat way to combine the two designs and concepts together! And so far I personally have not come across any art of this and would love to see everyone’s interpretations of it because this community’s art is literally always so beautifully done!

I myself may end up drawing up something, if I do I’ll be sure to post it of course :]!

Would the Hazel puppet we see in a few of the shows episodes be a kind of very basic changeling? Its obviously made out of way less unwishes than Chimmy but the similarities are too striking to be ignored.

YES! YES IT ISS.

Hazel's puppet is a very basic changeling. So basic, that it's only purpose is to complete one specific set of actions. When those actions are done, it disappears! It's quite literally and physically a sock puppet.

The differences between Hazel's changeling and Timmy's changeling is that their lifespans and construction is different. They serve different purposes.

Hazel's changeling is short lived, low on unwishes, and more specific to the job.

Her changeling is a one-and-done tool. It only has to do one thing. "Distract the Teacher." "Distract the Mother." So it doesn't need a lot of unwishes, it just needs enough to do its job! As a result, it is made of low quality cloth, it can't verbalize, and it doesn't make its own actions.

Hazel's changeling favors Perceptional Magic. This is why Mr. Guzman doesn't recognize that Hazel's changeling isn't Hazel. He can't see that it's made of felt and sticks. It's constantly pooling out perception magic to warp how its being viewed.

For this reason, the changeling doesn't actually need as much connections as Timmy's does. It can exist by itself, or with Hazel, so long as it has just enough Unwishes to keep it alive. Maybe not stable, but, alive.

By contrast, Timmy' changeling is on the opposite end of this spectrum.

Timmy's changeling is a continuous tool. It must persist and adapt and grow. "Go to school" "Get a job" "Find a partner". It needs many unwishes to face many situations and scenarios. So the changeling has a more difficult build.

The magic it favors is different. Timmy's changeling requires Environmental Magic. People see it for how it looks. It has human skin and can speak the human tongue. But what it requires is a suitable environment. Otherwise, people will know it for what it is. Wooden and hollow.

The more developed and high-tech the Changeling is, the less it's recommended for it to see it's real counterpart. The bigger the amount of Unwishes, the more you want it to be stable and calm. Especially when that changeling's job is "Be Human".

I love you clowns I love you puppets I love you stop motion I love you animatronics I love you porcelain dolls I love you marionettes I love it when someone makes a stylized caricaturized character and wills it to exist in the real physical world and then breathe life into it with acting, be it by animating or in real time through their body. It's all about Creating a Little Guy and communicating the beauty of the things you observe around you: the sadness, the humor, and the absurdity of life. And the comfort your audience feels, knowing that even if the Little Guy you created can only be viewed through a screen, it exists somewhere in the real world. You know what it would feel like to touch it. It may not seem realistic, and the limitations of the medium may be very visible, but they can tell it was made with love, and that's why it's wonderful

I want to see more appreciation for these art forms. please. I understand there is a certain uncanneyness that can be off-putting to some people, but come on. at least try to move beyond your initial knee-jerk reaction and notice the real human emotions that were the driving force of the artists. If I have to deal with 5 more years of google autofilling "creepy"/"scary"/"killer" into my search bar when I'm trying to discover new works in some of my favorite art forms, I'm going to lose it.

I have had this in my drafts for about a weeeeeekkkk. Although I'm not sure how accurate the idea of Charlie being some sort of doll Lucifer and Lilith made, I do still kind of like the idea and some of the angst I can feel come with it. Especially if maybe Roo had something to do with it and she comes in and just, takes Charlie's literal life away and makes her back into an intantimate doll. And bro, the potential angst and crisis Charlie could have about just being some sort of object? Ahhhh, there's so many ways that can be done with it.

For context, this is a theory/au some have thought of due to Lucifer having some suspicious doll like/puppet things in his room and the fact that Charlie's design is based on a porcelain doll (and a puppy I guess. No goat inspo for her strangely enough tho). I feel like it's such an underrated theory/au, which kinda fair because I guess I can't see it changing THAT much (like would Charlie really care?). But I dunno, lemme cook.

So we have doll reader, but what about a doll Legacy?

You know those hyper-realistic marionettes at carnivals that have all their limbs attached to strings and you can move all of them? Imagine reader makes one of Legacy and just has the puppet chomp and claw at him all the time like a kitten-sized version of moth!

The jaws make little wooden clacks every time you try to make the puppet bite him and his claws make the same skittery noises when you drag it across the floor!

ohh my moon and stars you can teach him to puppeteer the mini him and have Foul Legacy inception

the puppet's little wooden teeth do very little damage, a miniscule chomping sensation on Legacy's claws, but he still lets out a gasp of mock horror, pretending to be in agony with yelps and whines. you laugh as he flops over, sticking his tongue and playing dead. deftly you poke his tongue and he squawks indignantly, licking your fingers as revenge. you sit the puppet squarely on his chest, tilting its head this way and that just as Legacy does. he grumbles and sulks a bit before he can't resist the urge to smile anymore and breaks out into a fanged grin. the puppet dances around happily, the strings shining with a thin, silvery sheen, tapping his face with its tiny claws. you can't quite mimic Foul Legacy's wonderful chirps and trills, but still, you try your best, and he chitters with sweet amusement at the noise

if not the sounds he makes, you've become an ace at copying his mannerisms in your little puppet, down to the way he walks and the way he naps in the sunlight. if Legacy falls asleep anywhere, there's a very high chance he'll wake up to the doll next to him in the exact same position, no matter how melted or puddle-like he might've been. in his sleepy haze Legacy shakes himself and sits up slightly, moseying his way over to the puppet. he flops down beside it, gently nudging the wooden thing closer until it's cozied up to his chest much like a cat, or how he would pull you closer on rainy days to keep you warm and safe. it smells like you, the puppet- like you and nice wood and paint- something you made with your own two hands to have Legacy close at all times

you arrive home to the same sight, at it seems that perhaps the puppet is smiling, too

So i've been slowly making a list of Movies, TV shows/Show Episodes, and Music videos that feature appearances by any and all Fashion Dolls (Here's what I have so far). *EDIT* Commercials too!

But I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any other Films, shows, or Music Videos with appearances by Fashion Dolls? Specifically Fashion Dolls (Barbies, Bratz, MH, similar or stand in dolls, etc.) not porcelain dolls or plush dolls. Gonna pin this too. Feel Free to comment or RB this post if you know of any examples.
