Without a whiff of self-reflection, Shelly Hamilton amplifies the misogyny of BJU inc.'s purity code.
Dress standards: food for thought
Let’s face it—we don’t always like to be told what we can wear and what we can’t.
I am assuming, however, that most institutions or businesses have some type of dress standards for their employees or students. The “rules” are set in place for some uniformity, modesty, and decorum.
Sean Hannity at Fox News sometimes boasts of wearing jeans and sneakers under the table at which he sits, with only his shirt, coat, and tie visible. And maybe you saw during COVID the advertisement of a man at a virtual business meeting (SKYPE) who accidentally stood up and still had his pajama shorts on below his collared shirt.
Yes, most institutions have dress standards. In New York City, I saw this sign posted in front of a prison for the visitors:
• No shirts that show any amount of their stomach, chest, or shoulders
• No spaghetti strap T-shirts, belly shirts, halter tops, and similar tops
• No low-cut V-neck shirts; women should be extra-conservative, as even mildly low-cut shirts may be too revealing
• No clothes that are ripped, torn, or frayed as they may reveal too much of the individual’s body
• Shirts must be completely opaque, in other words, should ensure their undershirts and/or bras are not visible through their overshirt or top at all
• Sweatpants may be allowed, but pajama bottoms definitely are not
• May wear shorts, skirts, and dresses, but they must reach within 2-4 inches of the knee. Additionally, long dresses must not have slits that go above the knee
• Pants must be comfortably fitting around the waist and not be low riding to risk showing any underwear
• Tight-fitting bottoms, such as leggings, yoga pants, spandex, and leotards are prohibited as they present the risk of being too transparent and/or revealing
• This probably goes without saying – but bathing suits and lingerie are not acceptable attire when visiting an inmate. We probably don’t need to get into the rationale behind this, right? Moving on…
• When in doubt, though, err on the side of caution. At the very least, consider bringing a spare change of clothes to leave in your car if an issue arises.
The last couple of sentences hit me as humorous. LOL! It sounds like something I might have used to tell my daughters …
When I was a student from 1968-1972, the rule for skirt lengths was “to the knee.” Then when I graduated to the university, 1972-1976, to solve the problem of straight skirts going higher when one sat, the rule for skirt lengths changed to “below the knee.”
The mini skirt was the popular item sold in stores from 1968-1976. The only way to get dresses and skirts to the knee was to make them yourself or have a seamstress do it for you. My mom had five school outfits made for me, one for each day of the week. I still remember one of them. The dress had an orange wide-pleated skirt, and it was donned with a seersucker orange striped vest. I loved that outfit!
At least presently, all skirt lengths are possible online and at stores.
I am told now that some Christian schools say a girl’s skirt length needs to be “approaching the knee.” Hmmm… the knee must still be a pretty good guideline and landmark for measurement. I wonder if skirt lengths at institutions in the 1800’s was “approaching the ankle?” Smiles.
I was unsure of what “approaching the knee” for hemlines exactly meant.
Then I remembered, when an airplane goes to land, the airline stewardess comes over the loud speaker and says, “the plane is now approaching the runway.” This is to be distinguished from the airplane is now “approaching the parking lot” or “approaching the terminal.” This would not be good.
I don’t know about you, but when the plane I am flying on is “approaching the runway,” my hope is that it gets as close to the runway as possible. Now I get it!
Have a blessed day on purpose.

Is that a 1960s Stewardess? Simplicity 9371
The A-line shape on the re-issued pattern from the 1960s got me thinking of the stewardesses of that era and their uniforms. Their clothing changed along with the fashions, so they were always part of the current mode. And if a ribbon or tie was included it added both color and identification of which airline you worked for.
This dress has several variations. It can have a collar or not, it can have contrasting removable collar and cuffs as well, same for the ribbon tile, plus the sleeves can be long or short. You can also chose the back belt or leave it off. The buttons in the front serve no purpose at all, one of those tendencies to put on buttons as mere decorations which was so common in the 1960s. I can’t tell, but I also suspect the pocket welt may not offer a real pocket beneath it which was an annoying innovation. Still, the darts through the waistline and even in the sleeves indicate that the design retained some of the traditional dressmaking practices and aimed for a fitted shape. The suggested fabrics are a wide range from denim to double-knit (a very popular fabric back then), from flannel to crepe. Although crepe seems wrong to me as it will not let you achieve the A-line silhouette.
This comes in modern sizes and you can find it at your local fabric store or online here: https://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-storefront-catalog/patterns/brands/simplicity-sewing-pattern-s9371-misses-and-womens-dress-with-collar-cuff-and-sleeve-variations/

good evening cincinnati ! i don’t think i spelled that right , but go off ! it’s your girl arly sliding into the tag and into this beautiful rp with my baby girl and devil horned sinner amelia park . to be quite honest , lia is a brand new muse and she’s a bit of a mish - mosh of some other charas i’ve played in the past ( and i’m fully aware that’s not a word FBHBFD ) , but i won’t keep my greeting too long because i’d like to talk more about miss park , so i can get to plotting with all of you ! if it’s a preferred method , i can share my discord if it’s better for you with plotting , and if you’d like , we could totally go based off chemistry . without further adieu , here’s my witchy daughter !
birth name : park ha - rin . english name : amelia jennifer park . nickname(s) : lia , preferably . birthday / age : december 5th , 1997 / 22 . zodiac : sagittarius . pronouns : she / her / hers . gender : cis - female . sexual orientation : bisexual . romantic orientation : biromantic . height : 5′7″ . hometown : seoul , south korea . current location : new york city , new york . nationality : korean . ethnicity : korean . languages spoken : english , korean , french , and conversational italian . career : creative director and fashion designer . tropes : alpha bitch , bratty teenage daughter , daddy’s girl , emotionless girl , the fashionista , lovable alpha bitch , rich bitch , and socialite . inspo : chanel oberlin , ling woo , buffy summers , elle woods , kat stratford , veronica mars , regina george , and cher horowotz .
kim chae - won is a child actress who grew into a gorgeous woman , who continued into the entertainment industry after a break due to her parents wanting her to have a prosperous life as a child . she only ever loved the glitz and the glamour , so it’s no surprise that by her 26th birthday , chae - won became the highest paid actress in korea and the most sought after drama actress . she was notorious for living a single life , so it was quite the surprise when she announced that she was pregnant , so the question on everyone’s lips was who is the father ?
a big name in the world of korean conglomerates is park sung - hoon . the heir to pq group , a multi - billion dollar business started by his grandfather . sung - hoon was a ruthless businessman who always kept the company’s profits in the positives , and was able to reap the benefits of living such a lifestyle . fast cars , bright lights , and exotic vacations around the world made up his life whenever he was outside of the board room . sung - hoon had always been korea’s most eligible bachelor , thanks to the persona that he exuded on an every day basis , but suddenly he finds himself married and with a baby on the way .
jung soo - jin is the heiress of an airline company , and it’s safe to say that she was beyond comfortable with her lifestyle . she always knew that she was going to remain rich no matter what it took , so she wasn’t against her parents setting her up with known player park sung - hoon . for a while , their relationship had been one - sided as sung - hoon had no interest in being tied down , but eventually the two made nice and married in a lavish wedding on jeju island . shortly thereafter , the couple welcomed their first child jun - young . soo - jin was constantly praised by the women of seoul’s inner circle for bagging the most eligible bachelor in south korea , but she was more focused on how much others envied her .
two years later , the couple welcomes their second child , seo - yeon into the picture . the family was coming together and it was quite beautiful to see them . if the media were to dub them as anything , it’d be the nation’s first family , completely ignoring the president and his own family . the family has been going well , their money was never stopping , and suddenly , they were welcoming a third baby into the mix . it would be their last child , a beautiful baby girl they named ha - rin . the only thing that drove the media up the wall was the lack of pregnancy photos of soo - jin . nevertheless , the media was absolutely awe stricken by the beauty of their youngest baby , so any question of the lack of photos was no longer a topic of concern .
as five years passed and the family opened a new pq group headquarters in new york city , the park family is soon finding themselves relocating to the big apple , and specifically into the neighborhood of quincy park . i’m not sure of how big the homes are in the neighborhood , but i kind of picture the park residence like this . the children were spoiled endlessly by their parents , forever draped in the latest fashion , relaxing on the latest furniture styles , and often spending their summers abroad on their family’s yacht or elsewhere . the parks were living the dream , and everything about them looked right out of a magazine .
youngest daughter , ha - rin , who was known as amelia since she began attending school , was the epitome of a daddy’s girl . she was the youngest of the bunch and somehow managed to have her father wrapped around her finger , getting whatever she wanted without so much as asking . of course , she attended the most elite schools within the gates of quincy , and her appearance never lacked . she often stepped out of the latest vehicle , dropped off by her driver , and she always accessorized her uniforms with the best shoes and handbags . amelia liked to flaunt her wealth , and she loved her fashions for sure , but amelia knew from a young age that she wanted to go to school for design .
fashion design was amelia’s calling , as she often spent her days sewing and sketching while keeping up with fashion months and even the victoria’s secret fashion show . she loves the 90s era of modeling and dreamed of someday having her own designs sent down the runway , and after graduating from quincy university , amelia would have just that . she graduated in may of 2019 , and within all of a month , amelia was the designer on everyone’s lips . as they awaited the debut of her first line , amelia rubbed shoulders with some of fashion’s elite , but it seemed as though everyone already knew who she was . she sat front row at all of the exclusive shows , jetting from new york to paris to london to milan , all while everyone desperately waited for a taste of what as to come .
it was september 2019 when amelia launched her eponymous line during new york fashion week , which was welcomed into the fashion world with rave reviews . her brand is almost as if balenciaga and zara had a love child , and the fashion community couldn’t get enough . she’s awarded as emerging talent for ready - to - wear at the cfda awards ( pretending that the cfda awards happens later in the year ) and she currently sits at the top of the list as a designer to watch .
as far as the family rumor goes , since lia’s birth it’s always been speculation about where she came from . the lack of pregnancy pictures of soo - jin is the main speculation , and the media often wonders if she was born through surrogacy or a secret adoption . in truth , kim chae - won is lia’s biological mother and lia was the result of an affair between her and her father . the couple kept lia’s maternity a secret , and chae - won lies to the media saying that she gave her child up for adoption . in reality , soo - jin resented chae - won so much that she essentially blackmailed her into signing over her parental rights of amelia . this is the start of soo - jin , primarily , extorting and blackmailing anyone who claims to have proof that soo - jin isn’t amelia’s biological mother .
as for amelia’s paparazzi nickname of ‘ the minx ’ it mainly derives from her personality as being quite sly in her words whenever she’s giving interviews about anything and also because of her cat - like features .
when it comes to her personality , amelia is every inch the girl that’s clearly had a silver spoon in her mouth since birth . she was always one of the popular girls in her grade , so naturally that went to her head . she was on her school’s track team mainly to give herself something to do , but she also participated in various clubs and organizations , with her favorite being debate club . she led her school’s debate team to the state championship every year that she was in high school , and she was often utilized as their ‘ secret weapon ’ which led to them winning competitions . that being said , amelia is very argumentative and she’s quite vindictive as well , often finding leverage on someone to hang over their head . she’s bitchy and mean , sometimes a little overzealous in her tactics , but even those who may hate her can’t help but admit that she’s as charismatic as a psychopath ( and she might be one FBHDFBD ) .
i was going to put some wanted connections but i am ... exhausted so i’ll be sure to reblog some posts once i’m awake in the morning or we could brainstorm !
#york.intro#it's 1 am so i'm gonna call it a night but !!!!#i can't wait to plot with everyone tmrw !!

5 Types of Traditional Chinese Clothing & Dress
The story of clothing is one of the fascinating developments in human history. Each country in the world has its unique traditional costumes, which can identify specific histories and cultures and enable people to distinguish different citizens.
China is a country with a long history, and many ethnic minorities have their own national culture. The mutual influence of these different cultures has created rich textures and fabrics in history, which has brought about significant changes and glories in Chinese clothing.
Chinese traditional costumes were formed and developed under the interaction between the outside world and China's own dynastic traditions.
Each Dynasty had different boundaries, social values, social norms, etc. As a result, many aesthetic standards were based on the circumstances of a particular dynasty (social, geographical, economic, political). This is the main reason why there are so many styles of traditional Chinese dress.
5 kinds of traditional Chinese clothing
Before we explore the world of traditional Chinese clothing, it is necessary to learn the five most classic categories. They are Hanfu, Cheongsam, Tang Zhuang, Zhongshan Zhuang, and ethnic customs.
Each category has its own production process, and there are significant differences between different types or when the same model is compared at different times.
This article will briefly introduce each category. By reading the following, we can build the basic framework of traditional Chinese clothing.
The name of Hanfu comes from Chinese, which means "clothes of the Han people" and includes all types and styles of traditional clothing worn by the Han people.
The common ancestor of the Han people in Huaxia. Huaxia is the name of the original alliance of agricultural tribes in the Yellow River valley. The term Huaxia represents a corporate alliance of neolithic farming tribes, Hua and Xia, who lived in the central plains in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River in northern China.
Hanfu, like its definition, was born at the beginning of the development history of the Han people. Therefore, it has the most extended history among all the traditional Chinese clothing.
1, Historical Hanfu
Hanfu has a history of more than 3,000 years. From its history, Hanfu has been inextricably linked with silk, which is said to have been discovered by the Yellow Emperor's wife, Leizu.
From the Yellow Emperor (2969-2598 BC) to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644 BC), Hanfu dominated China's fashion world.
Each Dynasty had its own style and aesthetics. Such as the pre-qin period "Shenyi"; your clothes from the Qin and Han dynasties; Tiaowenjiansequn of the Wei dynasty; Bambi in Sui and Tang dynasties.
Some clothes were trendy in different dynasties, some were just a flash in the pan. In both cases, all Hanfu evolved and influenced each other to some extent.
Although there are many styles of Hanfu, each can be assembled with a suit of clothes.
Yi (衣) any open cross-collar garment, and worn by both sexes
Pao (袍) any closed full-body garment, worn only by men
Ru (襦) open cross-collar shirt
Shan (衫) open cross-collar shirt or jacket that is worn over the Yi
Qun (裙) or Chang (裳) skirt for women and men
Ku (裈) trousers or pants
Follows are the introduction of some Hanfu styles.
Zhongyi (中衣) or Zhongdan (中单) inner garments, mostly white cotton or silk
Shanqun (衫裙) a short coat with a long skirt
Ruqun (襦裙) a top clothing with a separate lower garment or skirt
Kuzhe (裤褶) a short coat with trousers
Zhiduo/Zhishen (直裰/直身) a Ming Dynasty style robe, similar to a Shenyi but with vents at the side and “stitched sleeves” (eg, the sleeve cuff is closed save a small opening for the hand to go through)
Daopao/Fusha (道袍/彿裟) Taoist/Buddhist priests’ full-dress ceremonial robes
Xuanduan (玄端) a very formal dark robe; equivalent to the Western white tie
Shenyi (深衣) a long whole-body garment
Quju (曲裾) diagonal body wrapping
Zhiju (直裾) straight lapels
Yuanlingshan (圆领衫), Lanshan (襕衫) or Panlingpao (盘领袍): closed, round-collared robe; mostly used for official or academical dress

2. Cheongsam or Qipao
The cheongsam is a kind of traditional dress, its history can be traced back to the 17th century. It is Manchu tights with distinctive Chinese characteristics. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was known as the "Mandas dress" and became popular among upper-class women in Shanghai.
The history of the cheongsam
In the qing dynasty, the Manchu, not the Han, ruled China. The rulers used an administrative division called the eight flags system. At first, only Manchu families were organized in the order, but above them were Mongols and Han Chinese.
The Manchus and anyone living under the eight banners wore clothes different from those of ordinary people. The garment is made up of robes similar to those of men and women and is called a robe.
For a time, under the laws of the Dynasty after 1636, and all Han Chinese had to wear Manchu men's hair, line up, and wear Manchu robes instead of traditional Han dress, or else they were sentenced to death.
In the 19th century, however, it was common for women to wear cheongsam voluntarily on both formal and casual occasions.
Today, the cheongsam is known for its exotic but straightforward lines and has inspired many foreign film adaptations. It is prevalent because it suits the figure of Chinese women very well; the line is simple, looks very elegant. Suitable for young and old people to wear throughout the year.
Modern women do not wear cheongsam as their daily wear. It is now only worn for formal occasions, such as weddings, parties, and beauty pageants. It is also used as a uniform by some Chinese restaurants, hotels, and airlines.
In China, cheongsam is usually a red wedding dress. Cheongsam is generally embroidered with exquisite gold and silver patterns. Brides in southern China wear a cheongsam or a two-piece makeover with elaborate golden dragons and phoenixes. Dragon and phoenix are the traditional wedding patterns favored by Chinese brides today.
3. Tang Suit
Tang suit, also translated as Tangzhuang, is often referred to as a modern Chinese jacket rather than a Tang dynasty.
Origin of name
Although the Tang suit is not the costume of the Tang dynasty, it has a particular relationship with the Tang dynasty. The Tang dynasty was one of the most prosperous periods in Chinese history. Therefore, people often use "Tang" to refer to traditional Chinese culture. For example, Chinatowns in the US or UK are also known as "Chinatown (Tang people street)".
Tang suit, as the name of Chinatown, represents a kind of dress with deep Chinese traditional culture.
Tang Suit History
The history of the Tang suit can be traced back to the early 20th century (late Qing dynasty). It is a combination of Manchu jacket elements and western jacket elements.
The Chinese government released a new unified system in 1929. Under this new system, the Tang suit became a kind of formal dress for Chinese men. Also around 1929, the media all over the world start to extensive reports and the introduction to the Tang suit. People all over the world began to think of the Tang suit as one of the most typical traditional Chinese clothes.
In recent years, with the diversification of Tang suit styles and production techniques, the Tang suit is becoming more and more popular not only In China but also in the world.
Tang suit appeared in many international events. In 2001, the Asia-pacific economic cooperation (APEC) meeting, all the leaders wore Tang suit, blue, bright red, and with China's national flower peony circular design. Besides, the Tang suit also appeared in the 2008 Olympic Games and some of the World Trade Organization meeting.
Also, Tang suit elements have appeared in many famous Kungfu films and TV series. Thanks to the joint efforts of designers and the cultural industry, the influence of the Tang suit has spread further and further.
4. Zhongshan Suit
The modern Chinese tunic suit is a style of male attire known initially in China as the Zhongshan suit (after Sun Yet-Sen, also called Sun Zhongshan), and later as the Mao suit (after Mao Zedong).
Sun yat-sen introduced the style as a form of national costume in China shortly after the founding of the Republic of China, despite its obvious political and later governmental implications. He designed the suit based on the uniforms of Japanese military cadets.
The suit is also said to have cultural connotations, with four pockets representing the four great virtues of Chinese culture: propriety, righteousness, honesty and shame, and five buttons representing five branches of the Chinese government.
History of the Zhongshan Suit
When the Republic of China was founded in 1912, China's style of dress was based on Manchu clothing (cheongsam and Changshan), which the Qing dynasty imposed as a form of social control.
The majority of Han Chinese revolutionaries who overthrew the Qing were fueled by the failure of the Qing to defend China and a lack of scientific advancement compared to the West. Even before the founding of the Republic, older forms of Chinese dress were becoming unpopular among the elite. They led to the development of Chinese dress which combined the changshan and the Western hat to form a new dress. The Zhongshan suit is a similar development that combined Western and Eastern fashions.
Most of the Han revolutionaries overthrew the Qing government because it failed to defend China and lack of scientific progress compared to the West. Even before the founding of the republic, the old Chinese dress had become unpopular among the elite, which led to the development of Chinese dress, which combined the Changshan with the western hat to form a new dress. Zhongshan suit is a similar development that combines western and eastern fashions.
The Zhongshan suit remains the standard dress for the first and second generation of leaders of the People's Republic of China, including Deng Xiaoping. In the 1990s, as more and more Chinese politicians began to wear traditional western-style suits and ties, leaders of general secretary Jiang Zemin's generation began to wear them less and less frequently.
Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintao, and Xi Jinping only wear Zhongshan suits for special occasions, such as essential banquets or the 2019 celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Hu Jintao even showed up to a black-tie state dinner in the United States wearing a business suit, attracting some criticism for being underdressed at a formal occasion. In the Xi Jinping administration, however, the Zhongshan suit made a comeback as a diplomatic uniform and evening dress.
5. Ethnic Minorities
Japan, Korea, France, Greece, and other countries are nation-states. China has been a multi-ethnic country since ancient times.
China's ethnic minorities are the non-Han population of China. China officially recognizes 55 ethnic minorities except the Han. As of 2010, the officially recognized ethnic minority population accounted for 8.49% of the mainland's population.
The degree of difference among ethnic groups is inconsistent. Many ethnic groups have been described as having unique characteristics with other ethnic minorities and the Han. Still, some are very similar to the Han majority. The vast majority of Hui are indistinguishable from Han Chinese except that they are Muslim, and most Manchus are considered primarily integrated into the dominant Han Chinese society.
There are 55 ethnic minorities, including Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, Uygur, Miao, Yi, Zhuang, Dai and etc.
In terms of minority costumes, there are significant differences among ethnic groups due to the influence of geography, culture, history, and other factors.
Features of the ethnic minority clothing
The characteristic feature of minority clothing is colorful, exquisite, and distinctive. Every aspect of their clothing, such as raw materials, textile technology, fashion, and decoration, retains distinct national and local characteristics.
The Hezhen people lived mainly by fishing and used to make fishskin clothes. The Oroque and Ewenki, hunting nationalities, used roe skin and animal tendon to make their clothes
The Mongolians, Tibetans, Kazakstan, Khalkhases, Yugurs, etc., who are mainly engaged in stockbreeding, make their apparel mostly from animal skin and hair. Moreover, the agricultural minorities usually use locally produced cotton or twine as raw material for weaving and clothing
The technology of weaving, tanning, and felting has a long history in ethnic minorities. For example, the kapok cloth of Li nationality, the wool fabric of Tibetan nationality, the Adelie silk of Uygur nationality, the furs of Oroqen, and so on have been enjoying the world reputation.
The costume designs and forms of China's ethnic minorities are varied. Generally speaking, there are two categories: long dresses and short dresses. People usually wear hats and boots with long skirts and headgear and shoes with short clothes.
The robe comes in many forms: the Mongolian, Manchu, and Tu people wear a high-necked forward style. Tibetan wear no collar inclined forward.
The tilted-front style worn by the Uygur and other ethnic minorities. And so on. As for short clothes, there are two kinds: trousers and skirts.
The costumes of ethnic minorities not only vary significantly according to different nationalities but also have different branches and different regions within the same nationality. Differences can be seen from province to province, from county to county, and even from village to village. Clothing is the most visible symbol of a nation. Historically, many countries were named after their clothing.
7 key changes to traditional Chinese clothing
5 categories of traditional Chinese clothing are introduced. In general, each of these can be identified by 7 key changes.
1, In design, traditional Chinese clothing is usually straight cut, loose shape. Also, the overall harmony of the dress is also emphasized.
2, Embroidery is a folk art with a long tradition. It occupies an essential position in the history of Chinese arts and crafts. In its long development process, it is inseparable from sericulture, silk reeling, and weaving. The production of silk threads and fabrics gave rise to the Chinese art of embroidery, which became very complicated and delicate.
3, In daily life, people usually wear light-colored clothes. Red, bright yellow and purple were typically reserved for emperors and royalty. Most of the crowd wore red at the wedding. Besides, white dresses are usually worn at funerals. For example, for women, only the wives of queens or officials can wear real red, which is not allowed for concubines.
4, In ancient feudal society, people's rank and social status were easily reflected in their daily clothes, especially for ordinary people and the upper class. Among the upper ruling classes, only the emperors were given the symbol of the yellow and dragon in traditional Chinese costume as the only affirmation of their power. As for ministers, generals, councilors, and their wives, their uniforms also had strict rules on how many lions or cranes were to be embroidered.
5, In terms of gender, women's clothing is more diverse than men's clothing. Compared with men's wear, women's wear has more decorations, objects, and styles.
6, In the beginning, the ancient Chinese just covered their bodies with leaves. With the development of agriculture, more clothing materials appeared. In later years, linen, cotton, and silk were the primary materials. During the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), according to the government's policies of heavy farming and restricting commerce, merchants were forbidden to wear silk clothes, even if they were rich.
7, Almost every Dynasty in history had its own unique costumes, some of which were genuinely exquisite.
Nowadays, more and more fashion designers are committed to improving the traditional fashion design. As wearers, we are not only consumers but also co-manufacturers. Especially in today's market, people are free to choose any style of clothing. Our likes and dislikes determine the course of costume design.
This article only gives a very brief introduction to traditional Chinese clothing. Each of these five categories can be further divided into more subcategories. This is an extensive map, and we've only seen a small part of it.

MASON-DIXON 2.0
The open revolt at the behest of Middle America against Wall Street’s day-traders and Silicon Valley’s coders was symptomatic of the brinkmanship across the political spectrum by Democrats and Republicans over many decades. The bipartisanship shown for indexes like the Dow Jones or the S&P 500 and its casual disregard for the tinderbox of America’s Rust-Belt between its unemployment and low wages as open immigration flood the labour market would together inaugurate Donald John Trump who himself became a kind of canary in the coal mine for the Brexit referendum and the West. To confound the measure of GDP with good governance was then shown to be a form of illiteracy for the income inequality, deindustrialization, and poverty rates of a country, nor was it right for demagogues of globalization to confuse less immigration with racist or nativist policy if it adds to wage growth by tightening labour markets. Because Washington DC is among the wealthiest zip-codes according to the US Census Bureau its insularity left it oblivious to the economic insecurities of ordinary Americans. Because the ruling-class is the paragon of dumb they thrashed about the epithet of white-nationalism to explain away populist ideas. Lost on the Establishment was how its own theology of neoliberal-economics was what stoked the ire of people.
Unless capitalism is under the ward of a competent watchman then it appears society will break as economics and culture are so often indivisible. This old wisdom recalls the 1861 Civil War which, like today’s redux feud, followed from manufacturers in the North and farmers to the South. Progressivism north of the Mason-Dixon Line in antebellum America was just and good in its cause to emancipate the Black race whose free labour enriched southern plantations. Ironically these roles of right and wrong between industries have flipped in today’s secularism of the coastal elite and the heartland: (1) Bank of America cut credit to gunsmiths in breach of their 2nd Amendment rights; (2) Delta Airline ceased discounts to law-abiding gun owners; (3) Procter & Gamble in its lunacy removed the Venus symbol from the livery of its tampons as transexuals now menstruate; (4) International airports banned the Christian eatery Chick-fil-A; (5) Nike monetized hatred for America’s flag; (6) Big-Tech deplatformed conservatives; (7) Gillette assailed men for their ‘toxic-masculinity’; (8) Goldman-Sachs divested from oil and gas; (9) Walmart added pronoun buttons of ‘he-she-they’ to store uniforms in conformity with new gender theories, etc. This cultural clash issues from a species of economic globalization that erases Christianity while it serves to belittle those who farm the nation’s breadbasket or who send their sons to die in wars like Afghanistan and Iraq.
While these same ideologues of the Washington Consensus from corporate America sneered at the country’s interior, unbeknownst to them was how their own cosmopolitan truths were being cannibalized. If Trumponomics is indeed the prejudice of white voters what explains socialism’s sudden popularity? Why are liberals sponsoring a doctrine whose tenets are similarly antithetical to free-markets and free-trade? To racialize the phenomenon does not square with a young and multiethnic demography which supports the notion of bigger government nor does the constant refrain of racism explain away the hostile takeover of the Democrat Party by the communist senator Bernie Sanders. The scapegoating of whites by the punditocracy is no longer tenable. What is happening suggests a rejection by the body-politic of an aristocracy which has made Washington the handmaiden to its business through an activism masquerading as philanthropy from a wealthy donor class. When equality of opportunity is defenestrated by means of offshored jobs, wage stagnation, or delayed family-formation from college debt then populism akin to the Right’s Tea Party or the Left’s Occupy Wall Street emerges to undo such market fundamentalism that has precipitated the loss of social mobility.
Passions like these from the electorate will not abate in the foreseeable future since Washington’s abstinence from interfering in markets has left the social fabric in a state of disrepair for two reasons: (1) If the goal of a market economy is to always increase productivity by rationalizing production then it has reached its logical endpoint; (2) A paradox has changed socialism into a luxury of affluence. Number one is the ouroboros nature of markets which discriminates against the sum of humanity through automation, self-driving autonomy, robotics, and 3D printing in blue-collar jobs, followed by Artificial Intelligence, machine-learning, and generative-design in white-collar ones, thus in time no worker is spared from the breadline regardless of IQ or education. Number two is the irony of how the democratization of wealth has led a younger demography to usher in a postmaterialist society through its sharing-gig economy which has become a precursor to socialism. Because Generations Y, Z, and A are the most privileged in the genealogy of civilization they have disavowed Christianity and capitalism in support of socialist policies to appease their own moral vanity after being reared in abundance for so long. The first’s Industry 4.0 and the second’s pampered existentialism ensure that today’s class warfare will not be ephemeral.
Voters of both liberal and conservative stripes have sought a buccaneer to agitate against Washington’s aristocracy whose blinders have ignored the socio-economic implications wrought by free-trade, deregulation, and open labour markets. As America’s GDP skyrocketed since the boom of the business cycle in the 1990s its Gini-Index steadily rose above the averages of other OECD countries. By itself such inequality would arouse some tepid indignation but next to America’s opulence, bailouts for the moral-hazard of banks, the globalization of production with fewer protections because of less unionization, and the two-fold increase of housing costs, a wick for a revolution was primed. Few parents of a household can feasibly raise their offspring in this new economy as mothers and fathers both enter the labour market to make ends meet. The dynamics of family-formation changed overnight as neoliberal-economics pushed birthrates downward and delayed it well past the peak fertility window for the majority of women. Whereas the decline in birthrates during the stagflation of the 1970s was monetary in its causality, today’s identical phenomenon results from a structural change in the global economy where two parents work full-time in half of US households compared with 31 percent in 1970 according to Pew Research.
The integration of economies by big-business with the forfeiture of sovereignty has marginalized the middle-class to the point of becoming a minority group for the first time in 2015. To compound a sense of being alienated this globalization substitutes a mosaic of culture bereft of any single identity for the melting-pot of assimilation which otherwise spurs unity as the true sinews of a nation rather than the many enclaves that sprout from a more heterogeneous society like in the former. Arguing in this case for a monoculture is not at all equivalent to arguing against race. The Christian West is indeed the most hospitable to expatriates despite how such humanity goes unrequited in places like China, Japan, or Iran since the US has been a sanctuary for migrants everywhere. But the sight of labour markets suddenly brimming with an influx of workers from recorded entries and illegal ones exacerbates the anxiety of those who are already beset with stagnant wages. Racist! Racist! Racist! No, you lying demagogue, it is economics. Slower growth provokes mistrust for variables which may suppress earnings further. Of these many grievances two were the bona fide genesis for today’s populism: (1) NAFTA and (2) China’s entry into the WTO. Big-business in the 1990s then began to exploit cheaper labour in Mexico’s maquiladoras and China’s export-economy at the expense of shuttering factories back home.
What has been shown is how free-trade at a certain threshold becomes inimical when imports which are either duty-free or minimally tariffed actually begin to redistribute wealth more so than create it. The most optimistic of studies authored on NAFTA found its welfare gains to be less than 0.08% in tandem with how wage growth fell by 17 percent in certain industries. Economist Dani Rodrik wrote a beautiful synopsis of this effect in ‘The Globalization Paradox’:
To drive the point home, I once quantified the ratio of redistribution-to-efficiency gains following the standard assumptions economists make when we present the case for free trade. The numbers I got were huge—so large in fact that I was compelled to redo the calculations several times to make sure I wasn’t making a mistake. For example, in an economy like the United States, where average tariffs are below 5 percent, a move to complete free trade would reshuffle more than $50 of income among different groups for each dollar of efficiency or “net” gain created! Read the last sentence again in case you went through it quickly: we are talking about $50 of redistribution for every $1 of aggregate gain. It’s as if we give $51 to Adam, only to leave David $50 poorer.
The asymmetry is nothing less than a paradox of tragicomic proportions. If opening markets beyond a certain limit shifts inordinate sums of money to the richest while inflicting penury on the poorest then a welfare state with a bevy of social safety nets ought to be established to keep an economy functional lest it devolve into a matter of Bolsheviks seizing power. The more capitalism is practiced, the more interference is needed unless the intended effect is for populism to be borne of a class conflict. The lesson here really is that free-markets need not be exercised to the point of self-destruction. From this quagmire can the philosophy of capitalism be distilled into two basic questions: (1) What are the hidden costs for creating a finance and digital economy which does not produce anything other than trading securities and codes all day while manufacturers are offshored? (2) Is the raison-d’être of capitalism to produce material things and comforts like imports from Mexico and China or is it to better an individual society by exploiting all human capital within it regardless of IQ or education? This existentialism is scarcely debated although it is paramount to ensure the proper workings of a country.

Last month saw Air Tahiti Nui unveil its unique, French Polynesian-inspired crew uniforms. The uniforms complete the passenger experience which includes the previous introduction of the 787 to the airline’s fleet. Air Tahiti Nui’s crew debuted the new uniforms at an event on June 20, 2019 in Paris Le Bourget.
The uniforms which refine the previous incarnation, brings even more colour into their passenger experience, drawing inspiration from the vivid colours used by famed painter, Paul Gaugin. The bright outfits paired with the ocean-inspired palette of the cabin perfectly unify to create a sense of the tropical islands of French Polynesia before passengers even leaves the airport.
The designers, Steeve Liu, known in Tahiti as “Steeve L,” and Moerani Morgrin, or “Moya B,” were tasked with creating uniforms for Air Tahiti Nui’s hostesses and stewards that met the professional requirements of an international airline, while still reflecting the charm, beauty and warmth that are typical of the islands.
Similar in approach to the Thai Airways uniform, the designers created two separate outfits: a formal pre- and post-flight uniform and a less formal in-flight uniform.
The first and more formal uniform, worn by crew while outside the aircraft, features patterns of turquoise tropical foliage on a dark blue background, bringing a touch of exoticism to an outfit that is nevertheless meant to be strict and professional. The borders and red lapels, representing the Polynesian flag, highlight the more rigorous nature of this outfit.
The second uniform, worn by the crew while in-flight, are the fitted Purotu and flowing Mamaruau, popular dresses loved by the women of Polynesia. These dresses feature the vibrant reds, blues, yellows and pinks that were loved by Gauguin, boasting a pattern made of foliage and vanilla blossoms in three color schemes, either mauve on a turquoise background, black on a red background or pink on a yellow background.
Adorned with laces and red piping, these dresses bring the vivid colors and tones that compose the beauty of Polynesian gardens into the cabin. Together, these two outfits distinguish the airline’s authenticity to its destination. It might not be lightyears away from the previous incarnation, but like other Pacific based carriers it goes far to deliver a truly authentic passenger experience built on brand amplification.

A Guide on “How To” Habana
If you came across this blog post, you may already have found out that planning a trip to Cuba from America is not the easiest task. There is not much information online and the information that is online conflicts. This may be since some of the information is 4-5 years old and things there are in the development stages. I too had a hard time finding information and this is what made me determined to pass on real experiences and suggestions.
My trip to Havana, Cuba was a full 3 days, from Thursday to Sunday. I planned this trip for myself along with 12 others. So here are some key takeaways:
1. Flights: In order to a book a flight to Cuba from America you have to fall into one of the 12 OFAC Categories. All airlines require you to choose one before being allowed to book the flight. Make sure that you choose correctly as you will be asked again when it’s time to check in and when you land in Cuba. Also, Visas must be purchased at check in or at the gate they can range anywhere from $20 to $100 depending on the airline and departure city.
· Visiting family
· Humanitarian projects or to provide support to the Cuban people
· Official business of the U.S. government, foreign governments and certain intergovernmental organizations
· Journalistic activities
· Professional research
· Educational activities by persons at academic institutions
· People to people travel
· Religious activities
· Public performance, clinics, workshops, athletic or other competitions and exhibitions
· Authorization to provide travel services, carrier services and remittance forwarding services
· Activities of private foundations, research or educational institutes
· Exportation of certain Internet-based services
2. Housing: Booking an Airbnb instead of staying in a hotel falls under OFAC “Support for The Cuban People” also if you do choose to stay in a hotel make sure it is not on the U.S. Department of State Restricted List. Quality Airbnb’s tend to get booked quick so make sure you are giving yourself time to life the life you want to while in Cuba. Make sure you communicate with the house host as some houses have strict rules. For example, you may not be able to bring outside food or drinks into the home, no guests can come to the house, no parties, no loud music, men may not be able tot sleep in the same room, etc.
Due to my group of people being over 10 people the options we had for Airbnb’s were off the back limited as we later found out that the city does not accommodate large groups very well. Furthermore, I found an Airbnb called “Blue Mansion Hostel My Way”. This home had none of the house rules as above and the host was more than accommodating while communicating with me before I booked. La Casa Blue Mansion Airbnb pictures does not do this house any justice. This house was beautiful and huge we had more than enough space!! Online it says that there were double beds in most rooms then 6 single beds split between 2 bedrooms. When we got there the single beds were Queen sized and the double beds were King sized. Everyone in my group had their own bed, and even some had their own room. Every bedroom had separate bathrooms and ample towels etc. There was 24/7 security, house cooks and waitstaff were on standby for whatever you may need, or request. This is a very clean family house and it has a very cultured feel. My group spent a lot of time in the many patio areas around the pool or in the bar club area that also had a pool table. We were very pleased.
3. Currency: Visa, Mastercard, American Express or any other debit/credit card is not accepted in Cuba so bring enough cash with you for your entire trip. US dollars is hit with an extra conversion penalty and lose value dramatically is you convert directly from USD to CUC. Therefore, we converted USD to EUR prior to our flights, then converted from EUR to CUC once we landed in Cuba.
Cuba has 2 currencies: CUC and CUP. You should always get CUC as it is more widely accepted, and CUC has the higher value. For instance, CUC is 1 to 1 to USD/EUR/CAD (roughly), while CUP is 1 to 25 USD/EUR/CAD. CUC is what we seen prices in tourist areas listed, while businesses that displayed CUP were in neighborhoods. Of course, food was cheaper in neighborhoods.
How much to bring? We were there for 3 days converted between $500-1,000 USD and once the trip was over we pretty much converted most of it back. It’s safe to bring more than what you’ll expect to spend just in case. Also, if you save your receipt from exchange centers in the airport, within 30 days they allow you to convert back without a fee at the same rate you purchased.
4. Airport Experience: When you first land in Cuba, you will be outside and will walk into the building. The customs agents and TSA are 90% women. Their uniforms are quite interesting as the military style miniskirts and black fishnet stockings fit very sexy. I was pleasantly surprised. Waiting on baggage claim was okay until my bag was literally the last one out on the belt and the moment I grabbed it, agents wanted me to step to a table on the side for an extra check. The bag that I checked was actually school supplies that I was planning to give to the kids at a school near our Airbnb. They were speaking Spanish and I only caught on to key words like “violation”. I was started to wonder why? There was nothing I brought that was against the law, just folders, composition notebooks, crayons, markers, and chalk. As they checked the pages on the notebooks they had all my friends who were waiting close the door come back to scan all of our bags through a metal detector. Shortly after, they let us go. Weird.
5. Airport Transportation: We booked airport transportation through our house because several of us took different flights and landed at different times. The house had someone waiting with a sign at every single one of our flights. Airport Taxis literally wait in the airport line all day to get someone who is going into the city, not from one terminal to the other. So, keep that in mind for your departure date because it will be hard to find a ride from one terminal to another.
6. Taxis: Taxis in the city are cheap. You’ll be fine but ask how much before you ride off with them so that you aren’t shocked by the rate. We allowed our house to organize taxis to and from the city and club. We were dropped off at different meeting points and gave him a time to pick us up. He was always on time.
7. WiFi: Most American cell phone plans do not work in Cuba. So as soon as you touch down you most likely will not be able to contact anyone. Hotels and Wifi parks sell WiFi cards $2 for an hour of online activity. Two guys in my group found a park and waited in a long line to get one. The rest of us did not see any of the WiFi parks. Some people were able to make calls from there cell at $2.49 a minute, but they could not receive a call. We were there for 3 days so soon after we stopped worrying about being able to get on social media and focused on enjoying the time and people that were right in front of us. If you are anything like me, be prepared, plan ahead. Download Maps.Me and download the Havana, Cuba offline map. Also, take screen shots of restaurants, addresses, important information, flight information, etc. as it is very likely you will not have connectivity.
8. Giving back to the Cubano kids: I planned a school drive as a form of giving back to the Cuban kids. We all brought supplies we thought may be scarce or just needed to be replaced to give to them. With the help of our Airbnb host we were able to get the Principal of a local school (I will not name the school) to allow us into the school to give the kids supplies. They were happy children with big bright smiles in their uniforms. This warmed my heart.
9. Restaurants: Most dishes we found in Cuba of course were seafood. But you were able to find chicken, salads, and pizza as well. I won’t detail all of them but 2 in particular. There is the O’Reilly 304 Gin Bar and Restaurant. We were all completely amazed by the bartender and all of his concoctions of drinks. We also met the manager Julio we completely accommodated us and had a million stories to tell of U.S. celebrities who has stopped by his spot. One thing I must say is that we were wondering what was taking so long with our food and soon after Julio and another guy comes in with fresh veggies and a string line of fish just caught out the ocean! Not to mention the food was seasoned very well! Make sure you try the salsa for the plantains, you will not be disappointed. Another day we went to Del Mar beach but met at Rachon Don Pepe, a beach hut restaurant. There drinks were $2.50 each! If you find yourself in the area stop by and get the lobster tail and boiled shrimp with hot sauce! There is also a pinacoloda spot next door that will completely give you beach vibes.
10. Beaches: The most popular beach that everyone says to go to is Veradero. This beach is 3 hours out of the city. Planning this trip, I did not want to have to commute 6 hours for anything, so I did some research on other beaches and found Del Mar. ‘Playa Estes Del Mar” was absolutely perfect!!! We all fell in love from the moment we walked up a sand hill and got to the top and saw the crystal-clear water and warm smooth sand. If I could I would go back just to have another day on that beach.
11. Cuban People: I’m not sure if I just didn’t know what to expect Cubans to look like but they look like us! The country is full of beautiful black and brown people! I absolutely loved the looks. Everyone we encountered either did not say anything to us or was very nice and talkative. I believe they are just as curious of us as we are with them. A lot of Cubans are artists, I was not expecting so much beautiful art! If you have the chance stop by the market and bring extra cash to buy some timeless pieces of art and paintings.
12. Night Life: Our first night in town we went to a place by the name of “Mio y Tuyo”, drinks and food was cheap, and they had a good DJ with the videos to the songs playing in the background. We found out later that is place is someone’s home. They made the first floor of their home into a club. Cool right? Our second night, we went to “Fabrica de Arte Cubano”. This place is about 7 clubs in one big building with patios. Each club played a different type of music but all of them made you want to stop and dance. All throughout the building was a display of art from local artists, which I absolutely loved. The bartenders make all the drinks hand crafted and none of the mixers come from machine. Everything was from fresh ingredients. The 3rd night we were going to go to “Fantasy” but we ended up throwing a party for ourselves in our Airbnb club (the house seriously has its own club).
13. Tours: Book the Vinales Cigar rolling and Horseback riding tour, it’s an all-day tour but is worth it, so plan to have 1 full day of your trip there. If you are short on time as we were, there is a Cigar Factory and Rum tour in the city that is roughly 3 hours, and they are only open on weekdays. If you book an Airbnb, allow the house host to book the tours for you as they have direct contacts to these businesses. But I do recommend not to pre-book the old American car tours. Online prices were average $45 per person, while walking up to them and negotiating they quoted 60 CUC per car (split between 3-4 people in each car) for a city tour and to drop us off at a Restaurant in Del Mar (30-40min out the city).
14. Time is not of the essence in Cuba as it is in America. They are not in a rush to do anything. If you set a time for your taxi to pick you up and you are not ready they will wait on you. You cannot pay to skip the line at the club (trust me we tried to offer $$$), you must wait in line. There is no quick bite to eat as all the food is made to order and the drinks are handcrafted with detail. So, find some patience.
I hope my tips help you and yours enjoy your trip! Follow my group and our tags on IG: @AshleySoUnique @Wolf_of_Peachtree @DrCarlaMoore @Corrien3 @__Jayalessia @_miamor @_meaganh @Supreme.bliss @modernmillennia @teddy_atl @blkgrl_ashley @lala_kki @quinashai_chelette

Chapter 56
"So whar do you do Mrs Le-Cren?"
“It’s Ms. Sommers,” she said.
“Oh, I’m sorry Mrs. Sommers, it’s just that you have that ring and you're Rileys mom—”
“Ms Sommers,” she corrected, anger flaring up at what she believed to be discrimination, “and Ms. is far more professional, my apologies but this is not the old days of sexism anymore doctor, women are equal to men now. It's what spurns me in my job. For now, I'm a flight attendant, but not for long.."
She tossed a laminated card to Kyubi who examined it. “Congratulations,” Kyubi murmurred, handing the private pilot’s license back to her. She gave him a cat-ate-the-canary grin and placed it back in her wallet before placing it on the table. “Thanks. I’m a quarter way through the commercial training too. In four years, I’ll be the one in the drivers seat in those 777s.”
“How commendably ambitious of you, Ms. Sommers. An aspiring airline captain! And while holding down your current job too. And I imagine being a stewardess must be fairly stressful—”
“STEWARDESS?!? I AM A FLIGHT ATTENDANT!” Pepper was uncharcisteristically livid. “It takes lots of training to do what I do—”
“Oh please!” Kyubi was exasperated with this one already! “Stewardesses are nothing more than waitresses in the sky. Let’s be honest Ms. Sommers!” “Let’s start with you. Without a doubt, I want you to go by Mrs Le-Cren. Keep listening, Mrs Le-Cren.
Let’s talk jobs now.” She went to the table and picked up the laminated private pilot’s license back out of her purse. “I can’t believe they let women be pilots! Now I know your plan. You’re thirty-eight and gone as far as you can go as a stewie so you want to be a captain. Well,” she pulled out a pair of scissors and cut the license in two, “no more. I don’t want some flighty gal like you piloting an aircraft! So from now on, you’re petrified of the cockpit! No more lessons and no more flying! A stewie you are and a stewie you’ll remain!” Her brown eyes burned hatefully into Kyubi's. Though her lips couldn’t communicate what she thought of this, the eyes surely did. While they still could.
“Now about your stewie job. You’ve got a big misconception about what it is you do. Alas, it is a misconception shared by many in your silly and superfluous profession—if I may call it that. You think as a ‘flight attendant’ that you provide a real service, when you clearly do not. It is time to redress this problem. Therefore I think you will begin the return to the wonderful tradition so popular with male passengers not so long ago of the pretty, vapid stewardess. I never ever want you to refer to what you or your peers do as being a ‘flight attendant.’ From now on you think of yourself as a stewardess or ‘stewie.’”
She was so furious her jaws had locked up in muscle spasms. How gratifying!
“Furthermore, you’ll be the kind of stewie that lights up otherwise boring business trips for men. Your appearance for instance. You’ll work on it—allow your hair to grow to full regulation length and curl it regularly. Make yourself up more and wear your uniform a bit tight to give your passengers lots of leg and cleavage. Your blue skirt should be tight enough to show off very visible panty lines and I think you’ll wear darker brassieres underneath your white uniform blouse to titillate the travelers. In other words, think of yourself as an ornament, something that begs for notice from the men aboard.
Conduct on board should be focused on males—boys from eighteen on up. Ignore the women and treat them rudely if you have to at all. You’re not there for them—stewies are eyecandy for men. With that in mind, I want you to personify the “Coffee, tea or me?” kind of stewie. You’re obviously single and on the make for a husband and I want you to flirt with each male passenger you serve that is traveling alone.
Your fingers will ‘accidentally’ graze arms and legs when serving drinks. You’ll smile, wink and swing your hips for them. Furthermore, you’ll pick out one special passenger—that you’ll concentrate on. You’ll be extra sweet, extra doting on him and his needs. You’ll try to get him to talk to you, get him to share personal information. As you do, you’ll make it clear that being a stewie is awfully lonely at times. Before you land, you’ll hand him a slip of paper with your name and the name of the hotel you’re staying at. It won’t make any difference if he’s wearing a wedding ring or not. ‘Stewies’ are notorious homewreckers. If he calls you, you’ll sleep with him.”
Pepper had never slept with anyone on such flimsy basis. The idea was inconceivable to her before. Or rather it had been inconceivable. Why couldn’t she move or open her mouth?
“And let’s not forget the captain, shall we? It wouldn’t be nice to ignore the boss of the plane! You’ll make it clear that while on his plane, you’re ready to serve his needs too!”
But she hated those supercilious macho morons! The way they always lorded it over the flight att- stewies… Now she was thinking the way Kyubi told her too! Pepper pressed her heel into the carpet, the only protest she could make!
“I’m still worried that there will be some that will still give you the benfit of the doubt, some other stewies who will think the passengers and captain are hitting on you unfairly. So to make sure, let’s do this.” Kyubi passed a business card over to the immobilized woman. Suddenly she had the ability to move. As if guided by an invisible hand, she picked up the card. It was for a tattoo shop in town.
“Are you right or left handed?” Kyubi asked.
“Right.” “Fine. On the wrist-side facing out of your right hand I’d like you to get a tattoo. Nothing dramatic in and of itself, I assure you! Just three words in red, so that s you serve your male passengers they’ll be able to read it easily.”
Pepper could speak now! “What will the tattoo say?” Wait, she shouldn’t act as if she was actually going to have the thing done! As soon as she left, she’d ignore this whole visit!
“Mile High Club.” Kyubi was pleased with this inspiration. Pepper's expression of disgust told her she’d chosen the right approach to humiliating her.
“Now every male—and the other stewies—will know you’re that kind of girl! One last thing and I’ll let you go. I want another tattoo—you’ll get both done as soon as you leave my office naturally. At the tattoo parlor you’ll need to borrow a razor first and shave yourself nice and clean down there—you know where I mean.”
Pepper would do as Kyubi said. She knew she would. There was no question in her mind that she’d obey every command Kyubi gave her.
“Then you’ll ask him to inscribe in red ink in a circle above your pussy the words ‘Fly Me!’—the final confirmation that your passengers will need to know you’re a fly-girl slut-stewie when they fuck you in your hotel room!”

In general, female candidates predominate in this area. Male applicants can also apply for this job. The term flight attendant generally refers to flight attendants. The men in this profession are generally called flight attendants or simply flight attendants!
In India, this profession is very popular with young women. Now everything is changing and young people often choose this profession! Also a checklist of high-income jobs in India.
I have already published several guides on this job on Apnaahangout! However, I get a lot of questions every day!

Arturo Pérez-Reverte// Teachers with Hiyab and other nonsense
Arturo dearest is one of the most popular intellectuals in Spain. Loved by franquist grandparents and parents, he is slaundered periodically by anything with a functioning brain.
This is his newest article, that I took the liberty to traduct to the best of my abilites. i don’t know the publishing date of this script, but with everything that has been happening, both in Spain and in the world, I felt the need to denounce this privileged moron to you.
If you, please, catch any mistakes in the english traduction, please tell me and I will review it. Be kind, and slander to your hearts desire
In a couple of years –if it hasn’t already happened- a promotion of young Pre-School and Primary Education degree holders from Spain, will graduate. Some of them will –they use it now, but as students- use a muslim head scarf named hiyab: a garment that, following the preceps of Ortodox Islam, covers the women’s hair with the finality of preserving her modesty, preventing that a excessive exhibition of her physical charms will awaken a man’s desire.
This future socio-educative event, so exemplarily multicultural, means that in a short span of time this teacher with covered heads will be imparting class to toodlers ans children of both sexes. Also they will do so with non-muslim children, in public schools, paid by you and me. So, this teachers will be presenting themselves to their students, with deliberated naturality, carrying in theis heads an unmistakable sign of submision and opression of men over women. And don’t try to tell me it’s a freedom act, because i will laugh. A religious simbol, mark this, in the same classrooms in wich, luckily and not without fight, crucifixes got banned. As an example.
But there’s something worse. More intolerable that the simbols. In their schools –and we’ll see who denies this teachers their right to a job and to teach- thei’ll be the responsables, with their head-scarf, and all the social and religious meaning behind it, the ones that shall answer to the students doubts and questions. They will be the ones to broach trascendental things, such as social morality, sexual identity, sexuality, relationships between men and women and other important matters; in wich we include, of course, the visión this younglings will have of the occidental culture, from the greek philosophers, democracy, the Humanism, the Illustration and the rights and freedoms of Mankind – that Islam ignores with sadening frequency-, to the more advanced ideas of the present.
This issue of teachers with veils is not a banal anecdote, like some demagogues short of both, lights and books, may sostain. Like it wasn’t what, a few weeks ago, a judge –woman, to my stupefaction- found in favor of a muslim woman who complained about her corporation, an airline company, not letting her wear the muslim head-scarf in a costumer service position. In this sentence, that in addition contradicts the Tribunal of Justice of the EU doctrine, is saif that forcing an employee to follow the rules of a corporation that demands both men and women wear uniforms and compeled to not wear religious or politic simbols of any kind, violates the religious and individual freedom. Which means, to my understanding –even if I know little of jurisprudence- that a integrist catholic flight assistant, for example, invoking this sentence, could wear, if her religious ideals compell her to, a crucifix as big as her hand over her uniform, giving public testimony of her faith. Or, evolving effortlessly into absurdity, that the follower of a lapp-norwegian sect, for example, could use his religious freedom to wear a couple of stuffed reinder antlers for Christmas while he checks the luggage o to attend the passengers mid-flight.
And so, it’s not about Islam or not Islam. Tolerating such uses is giving a step back; backtrack the many we have taken in the conquer of rights and freedoms, of breacking free of the chains that for centuries opressed humanity in the name of God. Is contradicting the progress and a fundamental modernity, to wich we know turn our backs in the name of complexes, the goodness-y, the cowardice or the stupidity. Like those puppets that every anniversary of the taking of Granada, afirm thar Spain would have been better off remaining muslim.
Meanwhile, oh progidy, the feminist most ultrarradical, so propense to garbage, remains silent about all of this like prostitutes –old popular saying, not mine- or better, like graves, it sounds less sexist. They are too busy in more imperative things, like affirming that bees and chickens are exploted females, that Quevedo should be banned from the classrooms because he’s mysoginist, or that Sabina’s songs are sexist and he should backtrack if he wants to remain be considered to be from the left.
And here we remain. Throwing overboard centuries of fight. Letting through the backdoor the things we had to kick out, with blood, intelligence and sacrifice through the main door. Committing suicide like idiots.
A/T: In Spain we use the term left to refer to socialist or democrats and right to refer to republican sor fascists.

Norwegian Air tells female staff they must carry doctor’s note at all times if they want to wear flat shoes
Norwegian Air has told its female staff that they must carry a doctor’s note at all times if they want to wear flat shoes.
The airline, which has been fiercely criticised, told its women employees that they must wear heels which are at least two centimetres tall in a 22-page dress code.
Women are required to have a doctor’s note at all times and update it every six months if they want to wear flat shoes.

Norway’s largest airline has been accused of being trapped in a “Mad Men universe” – a reference to a popular US period drama which portrays the sexist and patriarchal attitudes of the 1960s.
“It is almost comical that we face these issues in 2019,” Ingrid Hodnebo, a women’s spokesperson for the country’s Socialist Left Party, told Norwegian newspaper VG.
“While the rest of society has moved on, Norwegian is stuck in the Mad Men universe from the 1950’s and ‘60s”.
The document, obtained by the paper, tells female employees to wear eye makeup and light foundation, a tinted moisturiser, or powders. However, men are banned from wearing any makeup, unless it is to cover up acne or bruises.
Women are only allowed to wear two rings per hand, and none on their thumbs, and all jewellery has to be made from gold or silver-coloured metal. No necklaces or jewellery with religious motifs are allowed.
“Uniform requirements are one thing, but to impose heels and makeup is going too far,” the Norwegian Labour Party’s women’s spokesperson Anette Trettebergstuen said. “The year 1950 rang and it wants its rulebook back. This is super embarrassing and they should have progressed further.”

Norwegian Air told The Independent its staff are allowed to wear flat shoes while in the cabin and the doctor’s note refers to female footwear when worn outside the aircraft cabin.
A spokesperson for the airline said: “Like all global airlines, Norwegian has a comprehensive set of uniform guidelines to ensure that our flying crew represent our brand in a smart and consistent manner.
“The guidelines were drafted with input from our pilot and cabin crew colleagues and have been well received, sharing many gender commonalities in addition to some specific male and female requirements.”
Last month, Aer Lingus announced it will not require female cabin crew to wear makeup or skirts anymore. The flag carrier airline of Ireland said it had made the decision in response to feedback sessions with staff across many departments.
This came after Virgin Atlantic revealed makeup and skirts would cease to be mandatory for female staff days earlier. The airline’s female flight attendants, famed for their red uniforms, will be given trousers as standard, instead of having to specially request them.

An interesting question surfaced yesterday, what was the first hat you ever made? It is no suprise that the answer seemed to generate a great deal of sniggering since not many people know that the term ‘wimple’ refers to a medieval headress (not as some of my more wagish friends surmised a pimple on a women’s head sported mainly by nuns… that was the least offensive suggestion offered). When I was at art college (and yes that was before anyone used computers), I did a number of assignments involving theatrical costume design. As the visiting lecturer was in fact the wadrobe mistress with the Royal Opera House, these projects leaned towards historical period pieces with a heavy Italian influence. So with great confidence I launched into producing my first hat, a rather grand double horned wimple in the style of the medieval Italian Court. Bearing in mind that I had no prior experience and my starting point was a poorly reproduced book reference as seen below, I had no idea how to tackle this project.
The tutor suggested that I should first produce my own felt to block into a cap so after raiding the textile departments stash of fleece, I laboriously produced a half yard square of felt which I then dyed what I thought was a majestic green. I then blocked the felt to form a sturdy caplet base for my creation. The next step was I thought a bit off piste, as I fashioned the horns from chicken wire. It turns out that this was in fact pretty close to the way in which these projectiles were orignally created using either wicker basketry or metal wire cage structures to generate height without increasing weight. I covered the chicken wire in linen soaked in size (natural animal based fabric stiffener), before dying some old cotton velvet curtains which I cut into strips before winding around the horns. I then covered the seams with lace crocheted from a gold spun thread and draped the finished hat with a silk scarf (which I also dyed pale eau de nil. My poor sister (which is where this conversation started) then kindly offered to model this beomoth for my portfolio, gamely balancing the whole contraption on her tiny frame. Unfortunately the original photo has long since been lost but here is a close approximation of the finished article.
So for those of you who have expressed an interest, here is the real answer to the question, ‘What is a wimple?’ A wimple is an ancient form of female headdress, composed of a large piece of cloth worn around the neck and chin, and covering the top of the head. This cloth was often supported with elaborate constructions designed to add height and importance to demonstrate status. Its use developed in early medieval Europe. At many stages of medieval Christian culture it was unseemly for a married woman to show her hair. A wimple might be elaborately starched, and creased and folded in prescribed ways, and later elaborated versions were supported on wire or wicker framing, such as the cornette.
Italian women abandoned their head cloths in the 15th century, or replaced them with transparent gauze, and showed their elaborate braids. Both elaborate braiding and elaborately laundered clothes demonstrated status, in that such grooming was being performed by others. Today the wimple is worn by certain nuns who retain a traditional habit.
The wimple has flirted with fashion revivals briefly in the 1930’s and 1950’s with scarfed headgear made popular by screen sirens like Lauren Bacall and then later Grace Kelly and Jackie Onassis. Modern designers still sometimes incorporate scarves into their designs to appeal to customers who like to be served a large portion of modesty with their haut couture.
Similarly some of the Middle Eastern airlines incorporate a wimple concept into their uniforms. Maybe I will try some experiments blending my collection of vintage designer silk scares from Hermes, Gucci and Versace with the humble pill box. Could produce some interesting results.
In literature
The Wife of Bath and the Prioressare depicted wearing wimples in the Canterbury Tales of Geoffrey Chaucer (c.1343-1400).
The King James Version of the Bible explicitly lists wimples in Isaiah 3:22 as one of a list of female fineries, however the Hebrew word “miṭpaḥoth” (מִטְפָּחוֹת) means kerchief.
More a Shout Than a Wimple… An interesting question surfaced yesterday, what was the first hat you ever made? It is no suprise that the answer seemed to generate a great deal of sniggering since not many people know that the term 'wimple' refers to a medieval headress (not as some of my more wagish friends surmised a pimple on a women's head sported mainly by nuns...
