your eyes immediately watered up and your puffy lips trembled against your lover's hand. she pulled you closer to her, stroking your hair and planting little kisses on your forehead or nose. you sniffled, but the hiding girls didn't seem to hear it.

ellie smiled, though your sudden joy seemed weird to her, and her eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "what?"

without answering, you continued tugging on her hand, letting go only when you were at the dance floor. you wrapped your hands around her neck as she placed hers on your waist, still surprised by your actions.

eventually, you just softly chuckled again. "i love you, els."

oh my. with all the love in the world to your friend visiting us from a very different fandom tax bracket than i have ever had the fortune to participate in (those two pairings have well over 6k fics each on ao3), i'll see what i can do!

most of vintage sg-1 fandom was wiped out by expired domains, struck-through livejournals, ff.net's porn ban, yahoo lists, etc. some pages are still preserved in the wayback machine for heliopolis, the massive het-and-gen archive, and area52, the slash counterpart, but with the search and directory functions pretty much toast, they're almost impossible to navigate.

fanlore has an old list of archives (including plenty of jack/daniel ones). some smaller archives might yield wayback paydirt, especially if they were hand-coded. samandjack.net is still alive!

and, hate to say it, this was peak era for ff.net and they have like 30k fics over there... but all the explicit fic is gone.

i recently learned some people are still doing het-reccers (user-submitted fanfic recommendations, LJ archive is here). i don't know if any slash equivalents are still around (and i haven't looked at this site for genuinely fifteen years, so i can't speak to the quality of recs).

So...I have been thinking of posting this for a while now, but why not do it now? This is Sinking the Sub, a fan game I made up that centers around Ellie. (Sorry for any spelling errors)

You might be asking how or why I came up with StS, well let me tell you:

It all started in a Discord server for a Henry Stickmin rp game on Roblox, there was a suggestion about adding a potential Submarine division map in the game based on a drawing of it on Reddit. The main dev and many members liked the idea, we even got permission for the original artist. However, we never got any updates or responds on whether or not the map will be added.

Then at some point, something hit me: We never really know about why Ellie was in the complex, especially why she was in the same waiting room as Henry. Another thing I want to note is that Sven mentioned something about there being another division besides the Airship in the Special BROvert Ops route, meaning he might be from another division, but what? So I thought, why not mash the three?

StS is about Ellie being tasked to take down the Submarine division while Henry was dealing with the Airship. This screenshot will give a more detailed explanation:

ellie would 100% love playing with all of the little kids in jackson when she first gets there

after her and joel actually adjust to living there a little, I think she would befriend all of the kids under the age of like 9 and when she’s not hanging out with joel she’s pretending to be a dinosaur with the local toddlers

joel is a little confused because “ellie, when I said you needed to make more friends that are kids I meant…your age. not the little kids. the teenagers.” but also he loves watching ellie interact with the little ones because she always looks so happy and excited giving them piggyback rides and telling them funny stories (plus, seeing her play around with the little kids is adorable, okay?).

ellie will definitely drag him into some of the games they play and since joel is a big softie and being a dad is practically in his blood he has to agree, and so a lot of the time “joel watching ellie play with the kids” turns into “tommy watching his brother get used as a jungle gym by ten 8 year olds and a teenager” and everyone in jackson who sees it thinks it’s the cutest thing ever

new parents of young children will come up to ellie and joel just to ask if they can watch their kids for a little bit while they take a break bc of how good they are with them. more often than not ellie and joel are being followed around by lines of little kids like ducklings following their mothers. joel complains about all of them to tommy but he secretly loves every second of it (and he also loves that him and ellie both seem to share a passion for taking care of the little shits) (he calls it a family trait at one point and ellie is delighted)
