Mya could've turned out exactly like Octavian if she didn't have a support system, which makes me wonder…

If Octavian had actual family and friends like Mya, would he not have turned out how he did?

One of the themes of the story is that “You're only as good as the people next to you”.

If Jorge's former friends hadn't abandoned him, he would've turned into a jerk.

If Oliver's father hadn't abandoned him and his mother, their family life and mental state would've gone down the drain.

If Jonas didn't have the trio with him, he would've killed Octavian in revenge. 

And if Mya didn't have her new family and friends, she might not have fully recovered from her depression over losing her mother. 

Octavian… probably didn't have anyone. Idk whether or not the Protectors were raised in the Society, or recruited… or what (the way they act heavily suggests some type of indoctrination), but it sure doesn't seem to be familial-like. 

Jonas does see Spencer Albright as a father-figure, although I'm not 100% sure if Albright sees Jonas as a son.

Well, anyway, Paulla and her family were probably Octavian's first and only real family.

I knew who Rogers was, but seeing the kids trust her so quickly made me go 😬😬😬

That's why I loved King Candy so much like we KNOW he's evil but seeing the characters trust him and be around him was nerve wracking because you have no clue what his plans for them are

I just find it so funny that out of all the Poptropica characters and villains the author had written over the years, Myron Van Buren is his favorite.

Because he wrote a man who can do both.

Most Poptropica villains are either one way, or the other.

Faux Affably Evil, aka pretending to have a polite personality, but is really a jerk

Straight Up Evil, aka not pretending to be polite at all

And then there's Affably Evil, aka actually having a polite personality but still being evil.

With most surprise Pop villains, when their villainous nature and/or evil plan is revealed, they drop that polite act.

But Myron doesn't drop the polite act. Because it's not an act, it's not a phase mom, it's the real him!

He grew up with some manners.
