Moodboard for a oneshot Tiefling sorcerer I made named Popeye Carioca. As it was a oneshot I was...not creative. The problem with D&D oneshots is the character ends up taking on a life of their own no matter what. Popeye (obviously not his real name) is a superficially cheerful tiefling who has been tasked for an unknown reaspn to watch over a Chaotic Evil warblade since his birth. The warblade has a different name now, but his birthname was Richard, and the condescending tiefling revels in calling him this far less intimidating name. Popeye's intentions are unclear, & his demeanor is from an unknown culture & Time (we know it as the 1940s). He wears white gloves with three black stitches & knows how to magically replicate sailor's knots. He has a snake familar named Olive Oyl. He is never seen without a massive smile, & his eyes dance with the mirth of a private joke on everyone who isn't himself. After all, he's not the enemy of Richard. Popeye had quite an adventure last night. After derailing the campaign to pop into a magical sex shop for some shopping, Popeye set up for second watch & spotted some Harpies. After starting the fight with grease, Popeye endured terrible roll after roll, not to mention when he fell under the thrall of a harpy's song. After falling in his own grease trap & spending far too many turns flailing to get up, to no avail, Popeye said "screw it," & cast Burning Hands. But he wasn't done, oh no. After incinerating a harpy to death, Popeye tossed his own familar, a viper named Olive Oyl, like a spear to attack another one. So, I guess it went alright.
