One thing everyone seems to ignore in season 2 is that even though Duretti didn’t do the horrible act they had assumed he did in season 1, he did literally hire psychopaths to stop Ava and friends “by any means necessary”/ basically kill them if needed (which they tried to) just so he could win his election.

And then he’s all offended by Mother Superion’s accusations but like… he literally was willing to conspire in murder for his own agenda, he just hired inferior combat nuns.

I can't stop thinking about how the first time Duretti and Yasmine met, he completely denied knowing about the existence of the OCS.

Imagine what went through his mind when, just a few weeks later, she showed up as nothing less that the "apprentice" of Mother Superion herself.

Yo. Mother Superion was really put through it in episode 6, my guys.

Like we open on her story of how her pride robbed her of her worthiness which resulted in the Halo rejecting her.

Then she had to watch Duretti - her mentor, her friend, her symbol of faith - get fried like a fishstick on live tv with his last words of, “Come back for me, Suzanne” still ringing fresh in her head.

Then her one job, protect the Arq or destroy it, goes completely off the rails when Cardinal Eyepatch manages to catch her off guard and mortally wound her, rendering her helpless to fulfill that promise as well. (A sacrifice she was completely willing to make and should not be overlooked, for the record)

So now, not only has she failed to save Duretti after promising she would, she’s also failed to prevent the loss of the Arq (or at the very least destroy it) and has to lay there bleeding out while Cardinal Eyepatch and his goons jack it for Adriel.

AND THEN SHE DIES FFS.

The guilt and shame had to be a crushing weight in the back of her mind for the rest of the episodes after she was resurrected. All these nuns need fucking therapy cuz they already have Jesus and He doesn’t really seem to be working out for them so much.

Also, now that she’s died and resurrected….how’s her faith? Because Ava already established that there’s nothing after death…I want another Ava/Mother Superion shared experience conversation in Season 3 about this.
