Poodle Project--Grooming
Well, frustration with trying to groom my thick-haired poodle boy with clippers of median value proved so frustrating that I went to a groomer. She was good, but a string of events made her cancel a couple of appointments, and she has not gotten back to me.

Same dog 11 years apart
She’s rail thin and I had to shave her down due to matting today but she’s still a sweetheart
(If you look closely, you may spy a cameo appearance)

Don't cancel me but I don't actually care even a little when people use grooming products at shows. Showing and grooming are arts - you're learning how to present your dog in the most flattering way possible. People seem to laud UKC like it's the best thing ever that they don't allow grooming products and that you can Really see the dog, but 1) people use grooming product at UKC shows lmao, people are dense if they don't believe this to be true, and 2) I have known plenty of people to shape their poodles' coats to cover up faults in UKC, too. I have never seen someone use a grooming product to cover up a DQ... doesn't mean it doesn't happen but it sure as hell isn't common ime.

There have been several lovely dogs at work. But I think today has had the first one I've really fallen in love with. A West Highland White Terrier. He was terrible for blow drying, and yet ... I love him. He had such Big Terrier Energy. We played Terrier Games.
Okay I want a Westie now.
