I'm just a glutton for punishment, It seems like cause I chose to do a shiny only playthrough of pla too!

I will be keeping the shinies caught on this game separate from the regular pla shiny count. So this is the first shiny of the playthrough!

This was when the game began for me since, as stated, it's a shiny only playthrough! the "shiny starter" was caught on June 21st, 2023, at 5:39 am EST.

Of course, this is the free one everyone gets from the mission, but I could finally take on the first lord thanks to this mission and some training!

Stay tuned cause the second member of this shiny only playthrough was just caught eariler!

Hello everyone.

I am going to be taking on the challenge of the live shinydex in Game Freak’s Pokémon: Legends Arceus (2022).

What is a live shinydex?

A live shinydex is a full pokedex which consists of only shinys, and you must have one of each shiny at the same time (eg. in a regular shiny dex you would get one shiny bonsly and evolve into sudowoodo but in a live one you must have the shiny of both).

What will I actually be posting here?

I will mainly be posting updates on the shinydex, but I will be posting very inconsistently because I suck at actually doing challenges

Nah I'm teasing. You're right that investing too hard in Direct speculating takes the fun of theorycraft and wishlisting and turns it into pain. And I say that as someone who loves daydreaming about stuff like that. I've been through enough Pikmin 4 and Digimon Survive delays to know the dangers . . .

XD Also, this discussion remind me of the 24 hour Galarian Pontya reveal stream. I didn't hear about it until it was halfway over and then, 5 minutes after I tuned into watch, I fell asleep...

Woke up the next morning and while all the poor, unfortunate souls who tried to hang around for the long haul was (reasonably) miffed, my reaction was simply "Galarian Ponyta? What a cute little guy! I love you!" (Then I, oops, got the version without it and had to spam Wonder Trade for a week before finally getting one.)

Thank goodness I learned about Trade Codes for ScarVio...

But if the long-prophesied Kirby RPG (featuring 03 as one of Kirby's two dads) is revealed in the February 9th Nintendo Direct, I promise to quit ALL my jobs and become a full time Kirby content creator!

...Doesn't sound too bad, really. Minus the starving artist part... ^^

...Okay, I can’t help myself. I did want to say one thing about this. Since Magoland is the second “hub” we’ve gotten in this latest generation of Kirby, it could honestly become a “trend.” At least for a few more games. And while the first hub was in a new world and the second is...also implied to be in a new/separate world, an honest to goodness “Dream Land hub” is no longer just a dream! 

And there’s really no reason we can’t have nostalgic fan favorites poking their heads in from time to time in such a location. I mean, someone was paid real money to make Pick and Mine in 3D!! (Ignore that they’re just texture swaps, that’s still WORK.)

People can make fun of me for wanting to see the “minor” characters appear again all they like. I will continue to encourage fans to follow their passion and celebrate these characters just as much as the main four. Regardless of how many years pass.

Salamence: 52.8% / Minccino: 47.2% - 72

Lurantis: 73.1% / Spring Sawsbuck: 26.9% - 119

Surskit: 46% / Tirtouga: 54% - 87

Machamp: 17.9% / Tinkaton: 82.1% - 140

Marill: 60.6% / Lunatone: 39.4% - 193

Pontya: 37% / Rowlet: 63% - 100

Biggest Turnout: The poll with the most votes was Marill vs Lunatone with 193 votes!

Wallflower: The poll with the least amount of votes was Salamence vs Minccino with 72 votes.

Biggest Discrepancy: The Pokemon with the most votes overall was Tinkaton with a wopping 82.1%. And poor, poor Machamp only got 17.9% votes. Leading to Machamp never standing a chance against Tinkaton with a 64.2% difference in votes.

Head to Head: Salamance vs Minccino with a 5.6% difference. Surskit vs Tirtouga with a 8% difference.

Another Form Bites the Dust: Vanilla Cream, Ruby Cream, Lemon Cream, and Caramel Swirl Alcremie are all out of the Alcremie Form Bracket.

Guess Whose Back: The winner of the Round 9 Losers Bracket is ~ Aipom! Who is now back in the tournament bracket.

Notable Moments: There was a huge turnout for Marill vs Lunatone on both sides but Marill did win out in the end. A lot of propaganda for all around for the battling Pokemon this week.

Updates: As you can see, we are handling the Alcremie Form Bracket differently than other brackets. This is mainly because of how many and similar all the Alcremie forms are. From now on, we'll be handling the Form Bracket on a by Pokemon basis. Some will have the weekly singular elemination off the bat like Rotom, and others will be eliminated by percentages before the forms low enough for singular weekly elimination, like Alcremie. Some Pokemon with form variations like Sawsbuck with have forms entered separately. Mainly, I'll be going off of "Do the different forms have a Pokemon card?", "How many forms are there?", and "How different are the forms from each other?" to choose which Pokemon will be getting Form Brackets.

Reminder: If one of your favorites from this past week lost there is still a chance to save them! To help a loser out, vote on the Losers Bracket to get one Pokemkon back in the tournament. Round 10 Losers Bracket.
