Very busy week because I’m moving to a new city, but coding must go on!

After countless containers and virtual machines, I finally made a repository for my dotfiles, including Neovim, Tmux, Lazygit, etc. It’s so much simpler to grab my configurations from clone a repo, instead, I was used to send via FTP or something like that.

This week, I’ve been working on a short and simple video about using Kafka with the customizer terminal and Tmux. It’s incredibly easy to manage sessions by splitting them, which we use a lot because Zookeeper server and Kafka brokers still in single window each (If is local machine).

In the picture, I’m using the Kitty terminal with Tmux and 3 open windows: Neofetch, a CLI Pomodoro timer, and Lazygit.

In the YouTube window, the title in japanese means "Hikaru Utada playlist for a rainy day" I love hear this type of playlist while studying. I’ll leave the link to the playlist in case you want to listen too, just click here.

Introduction

Hi Everyone! My name is Lilla (nicknamed Lilu) and this is my studyblr!

I had a similar blog around 2019 but deleted it as I no longer used it (great mistake), and as now I am restaring university this year I want to be part of this motivating community again.

Here are some semi-interesting facts about me:

I have a kitty cat who will be featured a lot in this blog as he loves to take a nap on my laptop right as i start studying or working :')

I already applied to and studied at many universities, but dropped out as i did not know what i wanted to do with my life

i am constantly trying to balance my health, education, work and relationships, so this blog is an ode to my struggles :)

When I am out of motivation I love to rewatch legally blonde :3

my favorite season is autumn as i love to be cozy, make soups and crochet just like a grandma

Pomodoro kitty is lowkey magical. Literally (i already knew this but) i am so much more productive if I have a timed schedule. Just having that repeating timer with breaks did wonders for me. Otherwise i just keep picking up my phone or checking tumblr every few minutes and avoiding progress, but today I got so much studying done ^_^

I have done two very difficult pomodoros of writing and I gotta say, I’m feeling pretty good about having sat down and forced myself to do something, and it was nice to do it while watching the sun set and also while not being air conditioned to death

I feel like maybe I can keep going for one more pomodoro, which is what I’m going to do, and then I will go home and have some pasta and kitty snuggles and TV (CRIMEBRIME SEASON 12 IS ON NETFLIX AND NUMB3RS CONTINUES TO BE ON HULU) and start again tomorrow

and friendly reminder to self, you just have to get the ideas down onto paper until the words actually start coming. you know that writing your thoughts out is easier than making them into actual legit writing, especially when you are doing

a new project

in a new area

with an incomplete knowledge of whether stuff you’re saying has been written about yet

so like, just write some thoughts and yes, you’ll have to re-read some papers, but this is your introduction to being a person who is published (in conference proceedings) in a sociolinguisticky area that you want to learn more about anyway, so this is overall a win
