Finally getting around and trying to make one of my favorite meals, Haluski. I got a late start because of all of the running around this morning so this isn't going to be done till about 9-10 but my egg noodles are already done and waiting. I've never actually had Haluski cooked with Polish sausage in it always on the side so that will be interesting too. I'm really hoping this will cook down some so that I can throw my Pierogies in at about the halfway point. So excited to see how this comes out!

A humble hot dog cart with over 100 reviews and an overall rating of 5 stars? It seemed worth checking out. I’ve seen Hot Dogs Depot before, but since it’s in the Home Depot parking lot, I didn’t really look at it. Had I overlooked a local gem?

Hot Dogs Depot was clean, cheap, fast, and tasty but not five star worthy. They set up the space nicely in an enclosed tent with a few tables and a hot dog man statue. There’s even a TV that you can watch while you eat your hot dog.

Hot dogs start at $4. The hot dogs are kosher and all-beef. They also have jumbo, polish, cajun polish, and turkey dogs ($5 each). You can add a bag of chips and soda to make it a $7.50 combo. He has a nice selection of ice cold drinks and bagged potato chips. There’s even a condiment bar. Tax is included in the price. The bun wasn’t warm and the hot dog didn’t have much snap, but it was spicy and good.

Cajun Polish dog ¼ lb ($5): If you ask for everything, you’ll get chopped tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, raw onions, relish, mayo, yellow mustard, and ketchup, the hot dog, and the sesame seed bun.

Other reviewers mentioned a pastrami sandwich. I didn’t see it on the menu. Is there a hidden menu?

I wish they had bacon wrapped hot dogs.

It was cash only but I think they accept Venmo now.

Deli Mustard Review: Kosciusko Spicy Brown

So, onto the mustard. Just look at this thing. How can a mustard in a barrel-shaped bottle be bad? (It's also 100% natural. Apparently.) It looks like a dignified mustard, without being complacent enough to come in a glass jar. And dignified this mustard is!

The taste of this mustard is very nice. Not super vinegary, it carries that clean deli mustard taste I have grown to love in recent years. The spiciness that Kosciusko vouches isn't horribly strong. It's not the swift kick that Colman's offers, it's more of a hard yet friendly pat on the back. Because it's not so overpowering, it's good for when you want the mustard to take a supporting role, like on a good sandwich. In short, this is your "eating-a-sandwich-at-3-in-the-afternoon" kind of mustard; something that comforts, helps you along, but doesn't blow your taste buds immediately away.

I'd give this mustard 7 lazy summer days out of 10. It's a nice mustard, goes well with a good amount of stuff, and generally can hold it's own. It's a great addition to a mustard geek's collection.
