The results from when I did a Beast Wars poll for Skyfire. I did an Owlfire and also a Silverbolt inspired one (though with a polar bear mode rather than a wolf mode). Overall my favourite is the owl version and I really want to spruce that up and finish it.

Skyfire would be a bear cause they're supposed to symbolize gentleness, good travels, and fierce love in various cultures, thank you for coming to my TED Talk. (I like bear for Ratchet but also I L O V E the idea of him as a porcupine - big, cuddly, loveable, and prickly as all hell.) The real question though is who would be a friend-shaped small-pony-sized guinea-pig-looking capybara? Bulkhead, maybe?

yeah, i feel like skyfire would be a polar bear :3 (i kinda want him to fly though, maybe make him a fuzor like silverbolt. hehe, a bear with wings sounds silly but hey--nothing’s too silly for beast wars)

hohoo, porcupine ratchet is good :3 rodent of unusual size. i could also see ratch as a marsupial of some kind (have pouch for kids......)

capybaras are so chill they need to have someone equally chill...bulkhead is chill but i feel like he’d be bigger. i think beachcomber would be one.

I'm kind of surprised that you didn't use a yokai, cryptid or any mythical creature as an inspiration for your Beast mode designs for Skyfire.

True. I just liked the idea of polar bear for him. I couldn’t think of what else to use for him. I could have used a more bird like creature but I wanted to differentiate him from Starscream. Also a bear still feels big and large and powerful, and it’s fitting for someone of Skyfire’s size.

What would a corrupted Skyfire look like?? Would he be based off an animal??

(I am sorry it took so long with this ask. Naturally it’s Skyfire and he’s my fave so he gets special attention.)

To answer your question: Yes. He is a big flying monster polar bear!

No one thought it would be possible for Skyfire to corrupted, but after waking up to find war has broken out and killed almost everyone you’ve ever known and destroyed your home planet it can come as quite a shock. As well as finding out the person you cared deepest about has become unrecognisable and obsessed with power. Unfortunately the weight of it all overwhelms Skyfire and he falls prey to the corruption that’s turned so many bots already.

Poor corrupted Skyfire is very lonely and confused, probably running away to find a cave somewhere to hide from everyone.

In the main AU Skyfire looks after Starscream after he corrupts. In this AU it’d be the opposite; Star tries to look after Sky and see if he can find a cure. He’s convinced he can do it all by himself and he doesn’t need anyone’s help.

Later, Perceptor shows up offering help (also feeling guilty for what happened), but Starscream is very confident he has this all under control.

Corrupted Skyfire doesn’t like it when he sees them both fighting and tries to get them to like each other via hugs.

Also he has ice powers do to his time in the ice. He is initially terrifying but quite soft once you know him.

(I’ll have to do a scary corrupted next, these last batch have been quite cuddly)
