There is an unpatched glitch in both BDSP and SWSH. If you catch a pokemon and simply nickname it “Egg”, the game gets confused on the name and puts “the” in front of it when you interact with it. So for example, sending your pokemon to a box will result in the game saying “the egg was sent to a box.” Though this seems to be the only thing this glitch does, the games still treats the pokemon like regular pokemon.

TIL that in Pokemon Emerald, there is a minor glitch where a Cheri berry will suddenly appear in a specific spot on the berry farm on Route 123; it will stay in mound form and never grow or disappear no matter how long you wait. The corruption of this specific berry plot seems to happen after trading with Pokemon Colosseum and/or XD.

My hunt for a Monochrome Pokemon

As we all know, Pokemon having color variations isn't unusual. There's the well known shiny variations, who are well known to not only have an odd color (usually, I'm looking at you Gangar) but to also have a slight sparkle to their fur/scales/skin/feathers. There are also other color variations like albinism, piebald, and melanism. Not to mention just regular slight color variations like just having lighter or darker fur than usual.

But what I'm looking for is something that I've only really heard in rumors and a few blurry photos. It seems there are Pokemon who are in grayscale. I've seen them largely being refereed to as "monochrome".

They appear to be extremely rare, rarer than shinies. And I've only ever heard reports about them being found in Kalos. My decision to try to find one and formally document their existence, has been a major force in me moving to Kalos from Unova.

I want to write a paper on them but I need some actual solid evidence that they are real. If I could find and catch one (like I'm trying to do) I could take a DNA sample and search for what makes them this color.

If you have any photos of monochrome Pokemon, I would appreciate being sent them.
