Pokemon Crossbreed: Lovebird
Lovebird refers to the name for a Swablu/Altaria with a Swoobat father
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Swablu
Tumblr media
Lovebird Swablu tend to be less skiddish and more friendly and curious than purebred Swablu. They do well in both the sky and in caves, with enhanced night vision and their fluff keeping them safe if they accidenlty bump into the cave wall. They are often raised by both their parents, which can get them used to both areas. When they like someone or something, they'll boop their beak on it, leaving a heart stamp.
Altaria
Tumblr media
Lovebird Altaria get their names for the enlarged heart marking on their beak and the fact that their songs are mating calls. Their mating calls sound very soothing to humans and can help them relax more. Their fangs are used to hunt larger bug types, which purebred Altaria don't have since they mostly eat seeds. Seeing a Lovebird Altaria in the wild is often seen as good luck, as they are rare (Altaria and Swiobat rarely leave their respective environments), their wonderful songs, and their cute appearance.

Thank you @ShaunSmallest on Twitter for doing an incredible job at bringing this concept to life!
The line is a regional mountainous variant of Mareep, Flaafy, and Ampharos, cousins from across the sea!
Inspire by the Paiute tale ‘Na-gah becomes the North Star’ and the Cahuilla tale ‘Young Boys Climb the Mountain’
Still need to decide on their native and English names.

So it appears I have found a new variant of Raichu. Of course, the Pikachu was different too, but this one is beyond fascinating.
The Raichu floats in a cloud of candy floss, its tail split into three lightning bolts and hanging out the bottom of the cloud. Clearly, it's meant to represent a thunder cloud, even a juvenile could figure that out. But what fascinates me is that all Pokemom variants appear food-related. And some variants appear less food like than others...
It may be a sort of evolutionary process they have gone through in order to blend in with the Pokesnax. But I would have to continue my research.

Best pokemon games on
Ranking the best Pokemon games in the core series is no easy task. With so many memorable adventures spanning generations, deciding on what entry takes the top spot will always divide opinion. After all, we all have strong feelings about the particular Pokemon adventures - whether that be because we grew up playing it, or one holds a special place in our hearts. While we've seen a host of memorable experiences outside of the main series -with the likes of Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Go, Pokemon: Let's Go, and recent remakes like Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - this list focuses solely on the core games that established each generation.
Best pokemon games on
With the Pokemon series traditionally finding a happy home on Nintendo's handheld consoles, it's no wonder that so many entries have cemented their place among our top pick of games on particular machines - with Pokemon adventures among our selection of the best DS games, the best 3DS games, and the best GBA games of all time.
With the upcoming release of Pokemom Scarlet and Violet later this year, there's never been a better time to look back on all the series has offered us. From the most recent additions like Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Sword and Shield, to the series origins with Pokemon Red and Blue, here's our ranking of the best Pokemon games. Pokemon Sun and Moon is like going on a tropical Pokemon-themed holiday. It’s vibrant, bright, and offers a slightly different experience than you're used to. The Alola region was nice breath of fresh air for the series, since it really changed up the setting and reflected its theme in its unique Alolan Pokemon variants. But, isn't wasn't all sunshine and sand. Some of the Alolan designs are quite unforgettable, although we’re pretty sure everyone will remember the mighty Alolan Exeggutor for the rest of their days.
The change from the typical gym battles was odd too, and made Sun and Moon felt a lot slower to get going than the earlier games. Plus, it's very light on the post-game content after you finish the main campaign. This doesn’t mean its a bad entry in the Pokemon series by any means, and it’s certainly more accessible for newcomers in certain respects - it just lacks the same feel. Pokemon Sun and Moon's lush world and interesting story are still worth working your way through, and it also has nice features that build on what was established in X and Y, including tons of character customisations options, and more of a social aspect.
Pokemon Black and White is a little bit of an odd duck in the main series. It often gets overshadowed by other entries thanks to its less memorable Pokemon designs, but it’s maturer tone and interesting plot still help it stand out in the line-up. As the only game to get a direct sequel with Black and White 2, the fifth generation of Pokemon puts more of an emphasis on its storytelling, and plays around with the concept of right and wrong. The antagonists in this one aren’t so clearly as nefarious as Team Rocket always seem to be with their tail cutting habits and treatment of Pokemon. Instead, Black and White features Team Plasma, a group that believe Pokemon should be allowed to roam free and not be tied down by a trainer. It throws up quite a compelling dilemma with no obvious cut and dry answers. This version also has some graphical enchantments over Diamond and Pearl, with more appealing sprite animations in battle. When you compare them with the other games in the series, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl didn’t do anything too groundbreaking to really shake things up. One notable thing it did do, however, was bring Pokemon trading into the modern age. Instead of using a cable link, it made use of the Nintendo DS' WiFi connectivity to trade Pokemon with other players. While some new features did come into play too, most of them built on those that were already introduced in Ruby and Sapphire. Before the enhanced Platinum version came along, the animations had a habit of slowing down the battle sequences, which made the pacing feel a bit off. It does also deserve some credit for its story: the evil Team Galactic conduct science experiments to try and take control of the Legendaries in the Sinnoh region in some rather weird ways, but it’s not as gripping as other stories we get to experience.
Pokemon X and Y took Pokemon into the world of 3D on the Nintendo 3DS and let us experience its universe like never before. It was a significant change from the other titles that came before it, and felt like it truly marked the start of a new era for the long-running franchise. The charming sprites of yesteryear turned into gorgeous 3D models on the handheld, which elevated the battle sequences to new animated heights. The Pokemon-Amie system was also introduced for the first time, which lets you interact with your Pokemon companions and form bonds with them. It was a welcome touch that finally let you pet and play with your favourite battling buddies.
X and Y also brought in a lot more customisation, allowing you to change the look and style of your trainer. While it is only cosmetic, it added to the role-playing element of the experience in a fun way. X and Y propelled the series forward and laid down the groundwork for what was to come in Sun and Moon. It also introduced yet more interesting Pokemon, including the addition of the fairy-type, as well as new social features. While it isn't quite as good as some of the earlier games, it’s one of the best looking entries in the franchise so far, and will always be notable for transitioning the main Pokemon series into the realm of 3D.
The newest entry in the main Pokemon series is as close as the franchise has gotten to a reboot in its storied history. It's the first game that really opens up the world, giving you chance upon chance to run into Pokemon the wild - just like you would if we did live in a world populated by the little pocket monsters. With an incredible story (that takes you back to a time in the world of Pokemon we'eve never seen before) and new gameplay elements that give the series a bit of a refresh, Pokemon Legends Arceus is a fantastic addition to the franchise that takes the tried-and-true formula and expands it outwards. If you love Pokemon, you'll love this.
Pokemon Sword and Shield was one of the most anticipated games of 2019, and with good reason. As the first entry in the core Pokemon series to land on Nintendo's hybrid console, Sword and Shield opened us up to the world of Pokemon like never before. The Galar Region made for a delightful setting based on the UK, and it's easy to sink several hours in its expansive Wild Area catching all the roaming Pokemon and uncovering everything it has to offer. The Galarian form designs also nodded to aspects of the UK, and getting to bond with all the critters using the new camp feature was a welcome touch. In our review we said it's a "Pokemon game for a new generation," thanks to some of the more accessible features it introduced, allowing new players to ease into the formula we know and love. While it might be a touch easier than other entries in the series, Sword and Shield offers a fantastically memorable experience with a cast of colourful characters and Pokemon. And it's easily the best-looking Pokemon game to date.
While a lot of formula remained unchanged, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire took the series into a vibrant world of colour on the GameBoy Advance. The Pokemon sprites popped from screen like never before, and the magical start up screen is hard to forget. It was also the first Pokemon game to introduce a lot of elements and features that continued throughout the series. 2v2 double battles popped up for the first time, and Pokemon were also attributed with different Natures which affected their overall stats.
An extensive list of new abilities were also first introduced in this entry, which were specific to different types - this really added more depth to the battles compared to the games that came before. Contests were also brought in to add new challenges to the gameplay. The Hoenn region was a great setting, and the Legendary Pokemon Groudon and Kyogre - who could summon a specific weather element into battle - were very memorable. Since Ruby and Sapphire built upon what Silver and Gold established without veering off into any drastic new direction, it didn’t feel quite as special.
Several years after its release in 2003, an updated edition followed in the shape of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Going back to where it all began, Pokemon Red and Blue set us on the path to be the very best, like no one ever was, and we haven’t looked back since. The world of Kanto still feels just as magical as it ever did, and the original 151 Pokemon are the most memorable in the franchise’s history for their wonderful designs. Who can forget the classic starter Pokemon, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander? The first games captured our imaginations and made us wish with every fibre of our being that we could really be trainers in the real world. Thankfully, Pokemon Go helped us get closer than ever to realising that dream, but you still can’t quite beat the classic Pokemon experience. The Gameboy graphics have a nostalgic charm you don’t quite get with the later entries, and it’s still very playable to this this day, which is a testament to just how good it is. While it established the long-running series we all know and love, it doesn’t quite make the top spot.
The delightful Pikachu Edition Pokemon Yellow - that enhanced the classic games with everyone’s favourite electric mouse - was just the icing on the cake.
After Pokemon Red and Blue put the world into a Pokemon frenzy, the sequel had some big shoes to fill. Fans everywhere for eager for more, and thankfully Silver and Gold delivered just that in the best way possible. Bigger and better than before, the second generation introduced 100 excellent and memorable additions to the Pokemon library, along with two new Pokemon types, and a whole host of new moves. It brought in some interesting new features that changed up the game in fun new ways.
Introducing a day and night cycle added time-specific challenges, and brought in some Pokemon that could only be caught at certain times of day. Silver and Gold still had all the hallmarks that made the first games so enjoyable, but it expanded the experience to cement itself as the superior Pokemon game. And better yet, when you reach the end of the game, you get to unlock the Kanto region from Red and Blue which allows you to revisit all of the gyms and trainers. Silver and Gold was a giant leap forward for the franchise, and nothing has quite compared to it since.
Pokemon Crystal then came swooping in as a shiny enhanced remake of Silver and Gold, and it's especially notable since it was the first ever Pokemon title that let you decide whether you want to play as a boy or a girl. Thankfully this became a mainstay feature in every game that followed.

I do not believe that any of the Pokemon you have have a Hisuian variant. Also, I have yet to decide on all of the matchups, so if I do not have the Pokemom I decide is appropriate, we will be unable to have this battle. It is more of a thought exercise.
I just realized that for the continued Path of Solitude, I will likely have to modify preexisting battles due to type differences between Hisuian Pokemon and ones from other regions. Avalugg, for example, or Lilligant. These battles may need to be modified. I shall have to think about it...

I know I said countless times that Tyrogue and Hitmontop weren’t gonna get regional variants but I ended up changing my mind lol, so here’s Qamoran Tyrogue and Hitmontop!
Type: Fighting/Fairy
Egg Group: Baby
Ability: Dancer
Dex: Tyrogue (Scuffle Pokemon) in the Qamor region woo uld rather solve their problems via dance battle than with an actual battle. Which Hitmon they evolve into depends on the dance style they prefer most.
Type: Fighting/Poison
Egg Group: Human-Like
Dex: Hitmontop’s (Handstand Pokemom) dance style is much more aggressive than the other Hitmon’s in Qamor. They tend to congregate under bridges and form wild mosh pits and raves.

My applin wyrm went into a peach..?
I've been calling him peachin as a joke, but is there anything I should do?
Peachin is such a cute name.
Honestly, there's not much you need to change. If an Applin sees a fruit it likes, it's going to go into that fruit. It's going to require the same care as a standard Applin

The only thing that would make me love Meowth more is if that baby pokemom for meowth from the (I think) pokemon gold demo files actually made it to the final game... I'm love them. They've given us so much, with the regional variants and Purrserker and gigantamax meowth...
I LOVE BABY MEOWTH SO MUCH

Aww, yeah that seems right. Jean would be the kind of guy to let his Eevee choose. Or he subconciously wants a Sylveon since they have that calming aura. Heaven knows having a pokemom partner that is always actively helping calm down everyone around them is super valuable. Even more so when your human partner is Harry. Though I don't think he activley considers it, cause at the end of the day he really wants Eevee to decide.
Oh yeah, Mania can definitely work with that situtation. And the idea of her speaking Harry like the Phasmid is so good!
I love the picks for the other officers. Funny enough I was thinking Glaceon for Trant too, so I say let it be so.
Yes, Elysium pokemon variants would be rad. I feel like there might be some ghost pokemon variants to go with the whole haunted theme. I kinda want to come up with a Stickbug pokemon to honor the Phasmid even though a legendary definitely fits their original role better. Maybe it's a variant of Leavany that is a stickbug instead of being a Leafbug! Now I'm going on a tangent.
I hope you know, I'm considering how big the bed had to be for Alecto to be able to sleep comfortably on it before. I'm not complaining, lol, just thinking. But really this goes back to the fact I just want Harry to heal and get healthier relationships with his Pokemon! Though the nature of DE means there are world where that happens, and worlds where it definitely does not!
Both are so compelling, guh.
Also also, I am in love with the idea of Pokeballs are rare, that does seem like something the Moralintern would use to keep things controlled.
So maybe another thing, to re-catch your team at the end, this can play out differently based on your actions? Like your pokemon comes to you to tap the ball if you've already gained them back in your party. But if you didn't succeed in regaining your pokemon to your team aleeady, you have to go through a verbal battle. No actual fighting but Harry hashing things out to until he comes to terms with his own failings. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well. 😅 And yeah, no pokeball for Telemachus.
Harry having so many pokemon just goes along with the whole pokemon main character thing. It really isn't practical for someone who isn't a trainer to have so many. So I totally get where Kim is coming from. Especially since I think that Recachol doesn't have any active gyms, kind of like Alola in sun and moon. Which makes the whole depressed economy, and the reason having that many pokemon is very uncommon.
Hey, so Disco Elysium lives in my head rent-free. I love everything about it, and for the first time in a long time, I actually want to write fic about this world. The characters are so good, and I just have some deep feelings about the Pale and Delores Dei. (She creeps me out, but in the good way? Like what is your deal warlord religious icon??) IDK
Anyway, off topic, but I saw the absolutely adorable and perfect piece of Kim with his Pokemon team by @bakemeats. If you haven't seen it, please go look upon it. It's so cute.
So that leads me to thinking about Pokemon in Disco Elysium.
And honestly, Pokemon in anything always gets me, like who doesn't love the idea of a Pokemon buddy? Let alone a whole team of them? I digress, I really want to think about Harry having pokemon. Like does he have a Pokemon that he got when he was with Dora, and all the baggage to go with the poor baby? What about the bender?
My pet idea is that Jean and the others have to take his Pokemon from him, cause during the bender he starts raving that he's just going to release them all, and that's crazy!? You can't just abandon your Pokemon Harry you idiot?! He manages to let his oldest Pokemon go, an Absol (of course Harry f*ing Du Bois would have an Absol, how else can he know where to find trouble??) But she doesn't bail, just keeps following Harry and Kim throughout the whole case.
She's been with Harry too long to let him just ditch her now. And also, she knows he's a goner without her. She's smart and loyal, honestly more than pre-Martinaise Harry deserves.
And that's barely scratching the surface of my feelings. I could probably write this thought post forever, and still want to write out the story. Hopefully I can bully my brain into doing it. So far, I know some of Harry's team, Kim's and that Jean has a Mudsdale.
If anyone wants to throw in their two cents please do! I'm just really enjoying this idea. 😌

ok @nintendo @pokemon
i had this idea for a pokemom game for casuals.
the game starts and you choose a starter pokemon. this pokemon has to be able to pick berries off of trees.
you start the game, and its all about berry picking and farming different plants and stuff, like berries and veggies.
SUDDENLY, a pokemon appears from your garden gate! it mustve sniffed out some of your delicious berries. you can choose to feed it, pet it, and/or let it wander around your yard.
different pokemon might appear depending on which berries you leave out, and in which combo. for instance, a pecha berry and a pinap berry might lead in a machop, but an oran berry and a vegetable might lead in a klefki, or something like that.
you can also have your partner play with your pokemon guests! you can sell your berries in the market for pokedollars and then use them to buy pokemon toys to be shipped to you (the time system would probably be by day, not by hour ((NO CHEAP MICRO TRANSACTIONS PLS)) ).
i think, even though it defeats the purpose, being able to switch partner pokemon to whichever you want would be a good idea. you would probably be able to purchase pokeballs from the mart and catch some of your guests if you wanted to.
the whole game has a kind of neko-atsume vibe to it, but its all various pokemon. you can level up your partner by having it play with your pokemon guests, and also by eating different types of berries (im thinking a new variant like 'shiny' or 'lucky' berries).
you win the game when you have filled the dex and discovered all the berries.
you can take my money.

Do you have any Vaporeon facts?
Vaporeon Facts
Tumblr media
-The scientific name for Vaporeon is "Mare vulpes altera" which means "Other sea fox"
-Since Vaporeon can turn into water, they have great regenerative abilities and can recover from almost anything if given fresh water (headcanon from @poke-planet )
-Salt water vaporeon tend to have stronger muscles than fresh water vaporeon, as they have to adapt to deal with the ocean current
-The Pokedex states that when Vaporeon enter the water, they turn into the water. While Vaporeon can turn into water, it's not something that happens without their control. Similar to how (most) people can move limbs, Vaporeon can turn into water at will
-Researchers have discovered a possible Deep-Sea variant of Vaporeon. These Vaporeon are said to have glowing scales, darker bodies, and a more aggressive-looking appearance (might actually show that here!)
-Vaporeon can push their ears and ruff (ears) down when swimming to move faster
-Vaporeon have both gills and lungs, allowing them to breathe in and out of the water
-A lot of ancient statues have shown, what archeologists theorize, is an ancient water deity. It actually doesn't resemble a pokemon at all, but actually a human with Vaporeon-like qualities (its ears being Vaporein fine, having the large fin on their head, a Vaporeon tail, and an outfit resembling a Vaporeon
Tumblr media
-A lot of people think Vaporeons cause rain by their tails twitching, but that isn't true. Their tales twitch with the natural changing of weather, so they twitch right before its about to rain
-Vaporeon scales are popular with collectors for their rarity and beauty. They fall off naturally when they shed
-There are a lot of fairytales of Vaporeon luring travelers in with their scales causing a hypnotic effect
-Vaporeon are wary, but are also playful. Wild Vaporeon have been known to swin up to surfers to try and play with and observe them
-Vaporeon are omnivores; eating berries, fish pokemon, and seaweed
-Elderly Vaporeon usually live on land, as a lot of undiscovered, more aggressive, larger pokemom rest at the sea, and they can be targeted for their slowness
-Wild Vaporeon in Galar are less likely to live their expected life span due to Galar's more polluted water
Tumblr media
-Vaporeon puff up their ruffs and ears up when trying to attract mates
-Saltwater Vaporeon get water from the fish pokemon they eat
-Male Vaporeon are slightly larger than female Vaporeon
-Considering that ancient Vaporeon were land pokemon, scientists think that we're in the middle of an evolutionary change. In the future, Vaporeon might become fully aquatic!
-Vaporeon that live in Arctic seas tend to be fatter (more fat/blubber=better warmth
-A lot of people thought that Vaporeon ears were hidden somewhere, but they're actually just a bunch of mini holes at the base of their head next to their ear fins (I've called them ears the entire time, but they're really just fins. The fins help them filter sound though)
-Vaporeon's sense of smell is incredibly strong, and they can even smell things underwater!

LAST BOUT FOR TODAY I FILLED AN ENTIRE PAGE IN A MATTER OF 2-3 DAYS IM HAPPY WITH THAT!! Vacation well spent!
Doing my birthday buddies suggestion of Deerling, originally she wanted the winter coat baby but then I told about the other variants and loved springs just as much, so I did both!
While waiting for the serperior to dry earlier I did a quick ball guy for fun and donked up the page but shhhh ignore it. And tippy top corner.... my current thoughts. Only tea, yum yum
This may continue for a while longer, it all depends on both my energy after work these days and whether or not people have any suggestions! My only backlog of ideas is a tyrunt/Tyrantrum from my dad and for my own fun maybe a full page mewtwo, or half page thats a lot of commitment XD
Feel free to throw a pokemom for me to doodle and paint! This is just for my own personal challenge to paint more often and to get better as time goes on!
Eyyo Followers and Passerby’s
I’m trying to get a hang on watercolouring but I can’t pick what i wanna work on next, too many options for me XD
So instead can people name me just one random pokemon? Just a regular pokemon from the dex, I need some variety!
Example of what I can do so far with Calyrex:
Tumblr media
I may or may not pick peoples suggestions but I dunno what i wanna paint so throw me a pokebone! I’ll post as i finish
Even suggestions and tips on how to paint with watercolours? I remember very little from back in school almost a decade ago i’m rubbish XD
