Oneshot: Vexed | Raihan x Reader
Tumblr media
Rating: Mature | **NSFW**
It was supposed to be just another match with another challenger looking to scrap their way to the top. Raihan was well acquainted with the rigorous pace of the season and was rarely ever fazed in battle, win or lose. Though he did take pride in the prior far outweighing the latter on his battling record.
The dragon type gym leader was reclined against a wall in the locker room leading to the Hammerlocke arena, his long, tan legs sprawled carelessly across the wooden bench. He idly scrolled through Pokegram, 'liking' messages of encouragement under his most recent selfie and responding to every other DM in a friendly, but generic fashion — his publicist says it's always better to stay neutral. All of a sudden, he hears some kind of commotion coming from the front-facing parts of the gym. He recognizes the exclamations of his trainers - someone's gotten through them. "Heh," he thought, straightening out his hoodie as he hopped up onto his feet and started to roll out his shoulders in preparation.
****************************************************
Raihan had approached you as he did all challengers, casting a notably towering shadow over you as he took your hand and shook it, flashing a grin for the crowd and the Rotom cameras buzzing about. He exuded his usual confidence, sneaking a wink at you. Just before he turned to walk towards his side of the battlefield, his hand covered his lapel mic as he made a comment about taking you out for a drink after he won. You could've sworn you felt a vein violently bulging from your temple, but you held your tongue. Fuck this guy.
The battle ensued in classic Hammerlocke form, doubles throughout, sprinkled with some variations of weather manipulation, as was the trademark technique of the highest ranked Galar gym leader. Tensions quickly grew as it waged on, each of you calling out moves to your Pokémon with every ounce of strength you could muster, a visible sheen forming over your skin. You were fueled by not only your natural determination, but also how livid you were he had the balls to say those things to you. Your opponent had definitely noticed. He was amused at first by the scowl painted across your features, figuring it'd be all the more satisfying to take someone on at full force. There was something about the fire that blazed in those eyes of yours though. Even from across the expanse of the arena, he could feel the heat in their depths - and it tugged at something inside him.
Pokémon had been felled on both sides, and it had come down to a final blowout between your Altaria and his Flygon. Once the swirling waves of sand and debris had cleared from the playing field, the two dragon Pokémon came into view, both worn from the exertion of combat. Flygon's bright red orbs slowly shuttered, its sharp red-trimmed wings loosely flapping against its sides before it collapses onto the ground beneath it. Altaria's Ice Beam had landed. In that brief moment of silence, you could feel your blood rushing through your entire body, your heart racing so fast you could hardly process the roar of the crowd or the officiating Rotom's booming, robotic voice proclaiming you the winner.
Raihan recalled Flygon into its Pokéball, offering a soft thank you under his breath for a job well done. His expression was difficult to read as he made his way over to meet you in the middle. Adjusting his thick orange headband with one hand and extending the other to you, this time with... the slightest sense of humility. Your eyes locked and you gripped his hand firmly, your lips drawn into a peculiar smile as you pulled yourself closer, pushing up onto your toes to be within his personal earshot. "Enjoy that drink for me, dragon boy."
Not giving the gym leader a chance to properly react, you grabbed the Rotomphone at his waist and tossed it up for a selfie: you grinning at the camera with a cutesy peace sign up and Raihan with what must have been the absolute, most dumbstruck expression of his life. And at that, you walk off the field, giving a friendly wave at the crowd behind you.
****************************************************
That night, Raihan was plagued. By all of it. He kept replaying the events of the day in his head, over and over and over again. Why was he stressing this? He'd lost battles before. That's why he started taking the selfies in the first place - so he'd never forget the feeling of defeat, so he'd always be motivated to become better. But this, this one was driving him mad. He heaved a sigh, gulping down the last of his whisky before setting the empty glass down on the counter. He just needed to sleep and he'd be fine in the morning, that's it. Stripping down to his boxers, he slipped under his silk sheets, relishing in how smooth and cool they felt against his bare skin. Raihan let his eyes close and sank his weight into the mattress, doing his best to slow his breathing. Despite his efforts, his mind flashed with memories from the battle with you. He remembered how flushed your skin got from the heat of the fight, just the subtlest touches of pink brushing over your cheeks. How your brows furrowed in concentration, causing a small crinkle to form. How the shorts of your uniform began to cling to your frame from the sweat you worked up as you threw almost just as much of yourself into the battle as your Pokémon did. The dragon groaned in frustration, flipping over onto his stomach, his face burying into his pillow.
"Why the hell am I thinking of her right now?," he grumbled, his voice muffled by the bedding. "Who does she think she is, anyway? With that stupid... smug grin." Your voice echoed in his head, and regardless of the taunting manner it was intended to be delivered in, it sounded... he couldn't put his finger on it. But for whatever reason, he wanted to hear you say his name. He wanted to have you pinned up against the wall, his fingers digging into your hips as he held you there. He wanted to leave a trail of bruising kisses down your neck and shoulders, leaving you whimpering his name. Raihan rustled around, his body growing unbearably hot. He could feel himself struggling, pulsing, against the confines of his boxers, and finally reached down to slide the waistband off his hips. His fingers wrapped around his length and began to stroke, his voice rumbling deep in his throat, head strained against the pillow supporting it.
Your body writhed underneath him, needy for his touch. Fingers trailed up the broad muscles of his shoulders, the tips massaging small, tender circles along the way. Your gaze still burned like it did on the battlefield, it was intense and wanting. It begged for release.
Raihan turned onto his back, his hand quickening in pace as his mind went over every curve of your body, imagining your softness, your warmth pressed against him.
He held you flush with one arm at your waist, the other hand cupping the base of your neck. You were straddling his hips, your foreheads resting against each other, only the panted breaths between you. Your bodies moved in tandem, quicker and quicker with each thrust. The soft, yet wildly lewd sounds of him driving deeper inside you made him shiver. And Arceus, you were so fucking wet for him. So hot and tight — it was sinful how good you felt wrapped around his hard cock. "R-Raihan, fuck..." you gasped, losing yourself in the euphoria. You begin grinding harder down on him, barely able to choke your words out against his lips.
"Cum for me."
His body tensed and his breathing grew ragged, his strokes following suit until his orgasm shook through him, waves of pleasure washing over every inch as he rode out his high. After a moment's recovery, he glanced down at his hand and thigh, now covered in milky white cum.
".... Shit."

★ ``It's time for a break, Trainer. (Greninja & Overworked Trainer!Reader)

Tags/Warnings: Oneshot, Overworking, stress, comfort, stern and worried Greninja, very silly and fluffy, both Greninja and Reader are gender neutral.
Fandom: Pokémon.
Character(s): Greninja/Gekkouga.
Word Count: 2,716 words
Mod Gren's note: November 26th is my birthday! I thought, perhaps l should post this for my birthday.
Tumblr media
It's.. quite late on this particular night in your room. Sitting at the desk, eyebags slowly appearing underneath your eyes, feeling stressed and burnt out. But you felt as if you had to get this work done, no matter what.
You heard the back door open, it was not unusual and didn't startle you as much as it used toIt was just your fellow Greninja. They like going out for a run in the night. They have just came back from that run. You hear the back door closed and locked, hearing the very light footsteps of the ninja frog.
You took a sip from your coffee, your desk seems like a mess, but you need to get this work done anyway. You then hear your room's door being opened, "Ninja?" said the wondering Greninja, as it walked into the room, seeing you seem so overworked on the desk.
"Oh.. hey, Greninja.." You tiredly replied, "Sorry.. I'm busy right now." you added. Though, Greninja doesn't want to leave you alone just yet. Greninja walks up beside you, slightly kneeling down as it tilted its head, "..Nin ja-ja?" asked the concerned Greninja. It seems to be asking if you're alright, Greninja can sense human emotions very well due to its perceptive nature.
"I promise, I'm fine.. l just have unfinished work." You tried brushing it off while chuckling awkwardly, immediately following a yawn. "Ninja." Said sternly by Greninja, you can never lie to them. Clearly, it doesn't seem convinced.
"I swear I'm fine, I'll get this done in another hour or so—" You got cut off by Greninja putting it's frog-like hand up to your mouth. The Greninja shook its head, looking at you with stern yet worried pink eyes.
"Ninja.." Greninja sighs, going up behind and pulling the chair you were on away from the desk. Despite being small, Greninja has impressive strength. "Heyy.. what do you think you're doing?" You asked, turning your head a little to see Greninja behind the chair.
"Ninja!" Greninja cried out, it took both of your hands in its frog-like hands. "Ninja! Ninja!" Greninja exclaims, gesturing to the bed next to the desk in your room. "Do you.. want me to lay down?" You asked, tilting your head. Even if you deny, you do need a rest badly due to your tired state.
"But.. what about the wor—" You got cut off again, "Gre-nin!" it scolded. It seems like it wants you to take a break, and it's not gonna take no for answer. "Alright, alright.. I'm coming.." You finally comply, having no energy to argue with the Pokémon further.
You finally laid your tired body on your comfortable bed, your head resting the pillow. You almost instantly feel like falling asleep on the spot. As you felt your eyelids slowly droop, you felt a blanket being put on you, it was tugging you in. You also felt the Greninja laying down next to you, curling itself up like some sort of cat.
"Hey.. are you gonna sleep next to me now?" You asked in a tired tone, "Nin." replied the curled up Greninja. "Alright.. l suppose you can snuggle with me.." You say as you slowly raised your hand up and have it rest on the Pokémon's back. It's skin felt smooth and soft, you slowly pat it's back and it snuggled closer.
Greninja doesn't snuggle up close like this often, but when it does, it has a strange sense of.. comfort. Your eyes slowly start to close as you finally drift off to a peaceful sleep, with your partner by your side.

Arven x (GN) Reader Oneshot “I miss you.”
     It had been a few days since you really talked to your boyfriend, Arven. The end of the first semester exams were creeping up quickly and you both knew it. The classes you shared with him were just busy studying and trying to make all the students remember everything. Even though Arven was a straight A student, he still continued to study hard. During lunches where you talked to you close friend group of you, Nemona, Penny and of course, Arven, he would hide himself away in either his dorm or the library, studying. You craved attention from him. The three were pretty much your only friends. Sure, there was a lot of friendly people in your classes. However, no one compared to them.
   “Hey!” A girl with a long black ponytail with green strand poking out in the front lightly bopped your head as she called out to draw your attention. “You good?” Nemona greeted you with her usual soft and friendly smile as you lifted your head, dragging you completely out of your thought.
   “Oh! Sorry Nemona. I kinda got lost in thought” Nemona’s smile grew as the words left your mouth. She knew exactly what you were thinking.
   “Oooooh~! Do you miss you boyfriend~?” Nemona said in a mocking and singsong voice. Your face flushed a light shade a pink as you hide you face in your hands again.
   “Nemona. Stop. You’re embarrassing them.” Penny said turning to Nemona, making eye contact. Nemona sighed a turned back to you. The noise of the cafeteria makes a great background noise to start thinking again. The start of Nemona and Penny’s conversation of the exams fit in as well. You just wanted to see your boyfriend. The day had been tiring. You wanted for school to be over so you could lie in your bed. Only two more periods to go. It’ll be over soon.
     It was a few minutes until your final class ended. This was one of the classes with Arven. Throughout the period, you kept looking up at Arven, You missed him so much. You needed the semester exams to finish. You missed even the smallest conversations between the two of you.
                                                      Brrinnngg!
     You were caught in your thoughts again. You quickly sat up as you put your textbooks in your bag. Slowly, the class emptied out as you finished and proceeded to walk out. Tonight would be a calm and lonely night. Once you got into your dorm, you threw your bag on the chair. You slipped out of your school uniform and into a comfortable outfit. It was a baggy hoodie and soft leggings. Walking over to the desk, you opened your bag and grabbed your rotom phone. On the top of your screen, there was a notification alerting you that you’d missed a message. It was from Arven. You quickly swiped up to see what he had sent.
“Hey, Y/N. Can you come over to my dorm?”
     You started to type as fast as you could, replying a quick yes. You slid on your shoes and walked out of you dorm, eagerly heading to your boyfriend’s dorm. Once you got there, you knocked on the door. A second later, the door opened as Arven pulled you into a hug. “I missed you, Y/N.” You finally saw Arven’s flustered face as he let go of you. The two of you walked into his dorm as he closed the dorm. “I thought we could watch a movie together or something. I made us some dinner too. I made us (favorite food).”
     That night, you and Arven finally spent some well deserved one on one time with each other. You laid in his arms that night. You slowly drifted to sleep. It was a Friday night. There would be another time to study. Now, let’s just focus on each other.
(Wow that pretty decent ig. Anyway bye fellow Arven simps!)

hello :) would u be willing to write a romantic arven x reader (who uses she/they pronouns pls) where the reader gets anxious very easily, maybe like generalized anxiety, and almost nothing makes them feel better. so in an attempt to help, arven finds out a way to soothe her (ur choice) and it actually works for them and she’s really happy and yeah <3
Darling Deerlings
(Of course anon! Hope you like it! I actually have a lot of anxiety, so if you’re like this, don’t worry about being alone! (Also I’m making an excuse to write about one of my favorite grass types))
Arven x Reader
Genre: Comfort, Fluff, Romantic
Summary: Your anxiety can be a bit much sometimes, but Arven’s there to help you every step of the way.
~~~~~~
“I-I don’t know about this Arven…”
“Oh c’mon,” he replied, “It’s just a Deerling! It won’t hurt you.”
“But what if a Sawsbuck shows up?” Your anxiety began pouring out of your mouth, hands tucking closer to your chest as the Deerling took a tentative step closer.
“Then I’ll protect you. Now c’mere, if you really want to, of course.”
That’s the thing you liked about Arven, he urged you to try new things, but never pushed you out of your comfort zone. You let him take your hands in his, his warm chest circling you to press at your back. His hands guided yours, palms to backs, out towards the Deerling.
It was almost like the Pokémon understood, staying still until you were ready for touch.
A shaky gasp left you as the Deerling’s soft fur met your hand, a soft trill from the Deerling showing it was content with your touch.
“See? Not so bad.” Arven murmured in your ear, kissing your temple afterwards. “You wanna try in your own?”
A quiet nod, and Arven’s hands left yours, moving to rest comfortably on your upper arms as his chin found your shoulder.
As you pet the Deerling Arven’s thoughts went back to Area Zero. You had been doing well regarding your anxiety before then, but by the end of Area Zero it had you both messed up some. Arven recovered quicker than you did, and so he was working to help you heal as well.
You pulled your hand back from the Deerling before you got too overwhelmed, watching as it bounded away to join some friends.
You and Arven came back the next day, having been coming from Levincia to Artazon. You had stopped for a quick lunch break when the group of Deerling came running up with cheerful trills.
You, Arven, and your Pokémon greeted them warmly, and Arven was quick to make another sandwich for them to share.
He offered to let you try and feed them too, which you politely declined. Arven fed the Deerling one by one, each delighted by the taste.
The group of Deerling pranced around the picnic table with your Pokémon after everyone was done eating. You moved to stand next to Arven and help him clean up.
“The Deerling are awfully friendly.” You piped up, turning as one came up to give you a flower it found. “Oh, thank you!”
“Yeah. Guess they’re used to people taking this route.” Arven replied, turning to receiving his own flower. “Thank you, Deerling!”
“Deer!”
“Saaawsbuck!”
The loud belting cry had you tensing up, the huge form of a Sawsbuck coming into view as it created a hill.
You immediately turned to hide your face in Arven’s chest, hands grasping fistfuls of his vest and shirt. A faint memory of the loud, brutish paradox pokemon coming to mind with the intensity of the Sawsbuck cry.
Arven was quick to wrap his arms around your shaking form, quietly murmuring in your ear. “Hey, it’s okay. The Sawsbuck isn’t mad.”
You could hear the Deerling chirp and bleat back at their older companion, as Arven patted your back and gently urged you to turn your head.
“Look, it’s just here to see what’s going on.”
You shakily turned, seeing the Sawsbuck greeting each Deerling, and then your pokemon, all with friendly sniffs. Arven held out his hand, one arm still wrapped around you.
“(Y/n) here is just a bit skittish of louder sounds.” Arven explained to the pokemon, letting it sniff his palm before it looked to you.
“Saws.” It huffed, significantly quieter this time.
Your shivering now gone, you slowly held out a hand for the Sawsbuck to sniff.
It sniffed your palm as well, blinking with gentle eyes before it leaned in a bit. Arven reached to pet carefully between its horns, while you stuck with running your thumb back and forth across its cheek.
Once you both pulled away, the Sawsbuck turned, following after the Deerling that pranced away, all giving their own forms of goodbye.
Your group waved goodbye in return, Arven moving to hold you close to him. “How you doin’?”
“I’m alright.” You breathed, tucking your head under his chin, “Thank you for being there, Arven.”
“Anytime.”
My Brother Can’t be Hurt Again (a RaihanxPiers fic)
Experimenting with RaihanxPiers a bit. Wanted to do a fic where Marnie gives her two cents while defending her brother. I have a plan to do something similar with Hop in a RaihanxLeon fic.
Warning: referenced cheating, referenced stalking, implied abuse, mild language
Tumblr media
Arms wrapped around Piers as he entered the living room. The scent of sand and cinnamon blended with sweat and cedar wood as Piers huffed. He wasn’t big on Bewear hugs. Especially from a Flygon sized gym leader. But Piers could manage knowing it was one of Raihan’s ways to display affection.
Now just wasn’t the time for one. With the day sporting three challenges, a concert, and Obstagoon freaking out as a storm rolled in, he needed a shower.
“Let me go.” Piers sighed. “I smell like a wet Yamper.”
“I’d say more like a wet Linoone.”
“Whatever the case, I need to freshen up. Unless you want to sleep with Obtsagoon.”
Sarcastically pouting, Raihan released Piers. “Oh, alright.” Grabbing Piers’ wrist, Raihan quickly pulled him in for a kiss. “Enjoy.”
Piers rolled his eyes, groaning. He went for the restroom. Pulling the ties out of his hair, Piers’ hair draping down like a veil was the last thing Raihan saw before the door closed. The sound of the shower running was soothing.
Leaning against the wall, Raihan hummed along to Piers’ singing. Looking at the kitchen, he wondered if he should help clean up. Not that there was much to clean up, save a few dishes.
“You better not hurt him.”
Jumping, Raihan turned to find Marnie a few feet across from him. He wasn't sure how long she had been there, but she was there all the same. Marnie was sneaky, like her brother, just shorter and younger than Piers.
However, that was not what Raihan’s focus fell on. Rather, the comment she made. A confusing, unprompted comment.
“What?” Raihan sighed, tilting his head.
“You better not hurt my brother.” She repeated.
“What a puzzling little thought.” Raihan mused, trying to keep the mood light. “I would never.”
Marnie entered the kitchen, her glare locked onto Raihan. Sitting at the table, she waited for Raihan to join her. Curious, Raihan followed, sitting across from Marnie.
“My brother might be reserved when it comes to relationships, but I won’t.” Marnie stated, folding her arms on the table. “Do you know what it’s like to see your brother so heartbroken because of an ex? I do.”
It was sweet how Marnie was looking out for Piers. He had grown accustom to Piers looking out for Marnie, but until today, he couldn’t say he saw the same from Marnie that often. If at all.
It was curious too. Out of all the things for her to get vocal about, Piers’ dating life was not what Raihan expect Marnie to get hook on first. Him getting hurt was the first thing Raihan thought of. Or perhaps when Piers was helping out with the Dynamaxing shenanigans caused by Sordward and Shielbert. But if she was going to be concerned with her brother dating him, Raihan could address it.
“Why do you think I’ll hurt him?” Raihan leaned forward resting his arms on the table. “I’m glad that you are watching out for Piers, but we’ve been together for a while and you haven’t mentioned anything until now. So why bring this up now?”
He wanted to respect Marnie’s concerns. Her concerns were valid, even if he was just finding out about them now. However, that didn’t mean Raihan didn’t have questions. That he didn’t know why she was mentioning this now.
“His first and only other boyfriend cheated on him with some minor league gym leader.” Marnie winced, face twitching with disgust. “His last girlfriend was a stalker and while things would end amicably, his first girlfriend died in a car crash a few months later.” Speechless, Raihan’s eyes widened as Marnie continued. “He tried to hide it from me, but I always knew.”
As Raihan processed everything Marnie told him, a fiery spark in her grew. Once neutral concern turned to anger and concern. Blue eyes sharpened and froze, focused on her objective.
“You may be a talented gym leader, who’s fun and determined, but can you really expect me to believe that you won’t hurt him like they did? Or that I would let you be the reason he cries himself to sleep?”
A reasonable question. Based on what she told Raihan, he had no reason to doubt her skepticism. Proving it wrong was key if they were to continue cohabitating. For their sake and especially Piers’.
“What can I do to show you that I’m not like them?”
Marnie’s expression softened, considering the notion. “Love him. Don’t be afraid to show him affection while respecting his space. Listen to him. He’s a simple guy with simple needs. However,” her glare sharpened, “he’s been fighting for so long now that he forgot he can let go.” Blue eyes sharpened. “If you want to prove yourself, let him feel secure. Let him feel like he doesn’t always have to be strong. That he can be vulnerable around you without sacrificing his dignity.”
Marnie’s head tilted as she heard the shower shut off. He’d be in there for a few more minutes. With hair like his, it needed time to dry.
”I just want Piers to be happy.” Marnie sighed. “He doesn’t deserve all of the heartbreak. Or the nights when he cries himself to sleep.”
Hands covered Marnie’s eyes as she let out a pleading sigh and jittery shoulders. It was hard to see her this vulnerable, all the while trying to hold it together for Piers. Despite not having siblings of his own, Raihan understood why she would be so concerned.
”You’re a very good sister.” Raihan commended, lightly tapping her shoulder as he heard motion. “It must be difficult, and I doubt he wants you to worry so much about him.”
Marnie smirked, wiping her eyes. “Of course he does, but these Spikemuth siblings gotta have each other’s back. Whether he likes it or not, I’m gonna protect him.”
Raihan chuckled. “And you’re doing a great job.”
“Gossiping, are we?”
Piers was standing in the doorway, hair draped over his shoulder in a twirled braid. Marnie smirked, getting out of her seat and exiting the kitchen. She flashed Raihan a glare then smiled at Piers as she went to her room. Watching Marnie, Piers wondered what she was scheming.
Using his distracted state to his advantage, Raihan stood up with a smirk. Walking over to him, wrapping an arm around Piers’ shoulders.
“We were bonding over our love for a certain Obstagoon.” Raihan kissed Piers’ forehead.
Piers groaned rolling his eyes. “At least she didn’t bite you. Or call Team Yell.” He shrugged his shoulders. “The last person I dated ran out after she and Liz threatened to release a hoard of angry Stunky on her.” He kissed Raihan, who was concerned, but impressed. “I think she likes you.”
~
Treating Piers to breakfast at his favorite diner was supposed to be a good time. Raihan was going to take Marnie’s request to heart. He was going to show Piers that he could make him feel safe.
But one trip to the restroom seemed to stop that. Raihan was only gone for a few minutes and knew Piers would be fine. Or so he thought.
Instead, Raihan found Piers’s arm being held by some guy, visibly disturbed. The man in front of him had blond hair, brown eyes, and stood about five centimeters taller than Piers. The smirk on his faced wreaked of annoyance with intent that was not going the way he wanted it to.
“Let me go!” Piers growled.
“I came out all this way to see you,” his grip tightened, “the least you can do is show me some respect and talk to me.”
“You don’t deserve my respect. Not after you cheated on me.”
“You’re still hung up on that? Piers. Babe. That was the old me. I was young and stupid. I’ve learned my lesson and want to start over.”
“Not. Interested.” Piers yanked his arm away from the man. “Besides, I’m seeing someone else.”
“I know. That dumbass gym leader from Hammerlocke. Not that I care.” He shoved Piers against the wall, now seeming to bring attention to himself and Piers as he pinned Piers there. “Only one person can have you. Me. And I ain’t about to let some cocky son of a bitch steal you.”
The man held Pier’s chin as he widely grinned. Eyes flickered as the man leaned closer to Piers. Panic set in faster than a Rapidash as Piers realized what was going on.
“Let me go, you piece of shite.” Piers kneed the man in the stomach, causing him to recoil long enough for him to free his arm. “We. Are. Over. And I am not stooping to your level because you think you own me. Just leave me alone!”
“Why you little…”
A hand raised aggressively as the man retaliated. But before the man could hit Piers, a fist landed squarely on his face, colliding with his cheekbone. Raihan stood between them now, shielding Piers from whatever the man’s next move could be.
“Back off.” Raihan growled.
The man stood up, enraged, ready to fight Raihan. The dragon tamer, meanwhile, stood over him with an equally aggressive smirk. As he took a step forward, Raihan felt a tug on his sleeve. Looking back, Oiers shook his head.
“Just take me home.”
Piers’ glare turned, bitterly looking at the door. And though his face refused to show it, he was shaken. His frame was fidgeting like an anxious Yamper. His frame shrunken like an alarmed Silicobra.
Raihan glared at the man before looking around. Finally noting the crowd, Raihan nodded. He grabbed Piers and got out of the diner.
~
“I can’t fucking believe him.” Piers slammed the door behind him. “That arsehole thinks he can just show up acting like he did nothing wrong.” He tossed his jacket on the ground. “Then tries to kiss me thinking it’ll make everything better. Fuck that!”
Pinching the bridge of his nose, Piers tried to recompose himself. He looked at Raihan, who had been pretty quiet for the entire journey home. It made Piers feel guilty seeing as he was letting the incident at the dinner get to him.
“I’m sorry for losing my cool. That was my ex.” Piers folded his arms. “I thought I wouldn't see him again. Prayed I wouldn’t. I… I shouldn’t have let it get that far.”
“It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not. I let him get under my skin. I thought I was over him and the torment he put me through. I should have walked away and found you. Not let him corner me like that.”
Tense, Piers walked down the hallway, Raihan not far behind. As Piers entered his room, a fist struck the wall. Though it didn’t leave a dent, it did cause Raihan to jump, rushing over to Piers to make sure he was okay. He inspected the hand, that was now turning red on his knuckles. A defeated sigh escaped him as his free hand covered his face.
Raihan led Piers to the bathroom. Grabbing the first aid kit, he pulled out the bandages. Piers’ hand might not have been bleeding, but Raihan wanted it covered to prevent further damage. Piers, all the while, was quiet, grinding his teeth. He didn’t resist as Raihan had him sit on the counter and worked on his hand.
Remembering what Marnie said earlier that Piers just confirmed, Raihan processed what to do from here. His blood was boiling now that he had a face to the ex. But what made it worse, was how swiftly the man chose to hit Piers. That didn’t feel spontaneous. That felt familiar.
“He didn’t just cheat on you, did he?” Raihan inquired.
Silence. Raihan stood in front of him, leaning forward, as he watched Piers. Black and white hair shook as adrenaline started to subside. Raihan wasn’t going to be forceful, but he wanted to help.
“Piers? Did he beat you?”
Piers, through gritted teeth and aggravated panic, nodded. Backing up slightly, Raihan let out a sympathetic sigh. No wonder Piers was so stressed. Cheating on Piers was already bad, but beating him only made it worse. Raihan wondered if Marnie knew. Though given she never mentioned it, Raihan doubted she did.
Mentally, Raihan was glad that he stepped in. There was no way in hell he would let that happen. Ever again. However, that didn’t matter in the moment. Not when Piers was trying to hold off every emotion in the book.
Adrenaline and rage dissipated as Piers’ frame deflated. His body shook violently now, and tears started trailing. He remained quiet, but tried to hide his face. Raihan gently held Piers’ shoulders.
“Piers… It’s… I’m here.” Patiently, he waited for a response. It didn’t have to be vocal. It could be a nod. A glance. An extended hand. Anything.
“Hold me.” Piers softly requested.
He gently pulled Piers off of the counter and pulled him in for a hug. Raihan’s hand cupped the back of Piers’ head, as his other around Piers’ waist.
“Let it out.”
Piers buried his head in Raihan’s jacket. His arms wrapped his arms around Raihan as he let out a whimper. His legs buckled and gave out, which prompted Raihan to sit down, setting Piers on his lap.
Raihan remained silent, letting Piers get out what he needed to without prodding. His head tilted as he heard footsteps. Light, worried footsteps.
“He’s gonna be okay.” Raihan quietly assured, looking at Marnie with a sympathetic gaze as he tightened his hold slightly. “He had a rough morning.”
Nodding, Marnie disappeared for a moment. She returned with a black and white blanket with red accents. Proceeding to drape it over Piers, Marnie sat beside them, resting her hand on her brother’s back.
“It’s okay.” Marnie whispered. “I’m here, and Raihan’s gonna protect you, yeah. We love you.”
Her hand fell onto her lap as Piers weakly nodded. Glaring at Raihan, Raihan knew Marnie was thanking him. Though he knew he had a ways to go to prove himself, he knew this was a start.
Raihan pulled her into the hug, letting the Spikemuth duo share the embrace as Piers released the beast. Unity and comfort was a dish best served warm and that’s just what they needed. Flicking Piers’s hair, he reflected on the situation. He hated that Piers had to suffer, but he also realized he needed to see it. To see the pain. And now that he did, Raihan knew what to do in order to protect Piers. And he would do everything in his power to keep Piers safe.
First Meetings
Summary: May and Drew meet for the first time, and it goes about just as well as you expect it to.
……… | flirting, fighting, and explosions. Not necessarily in that order. |
Tumblr media
DREW
………
Drew against the bridge that was facing the shoreline and watched. The girl in a red bandanna was flinging frisbees at her Beautifly — and failing.
“Amateur,” Drew said in his head. The Beautifly had just failed to complete the move Silverwind. “You’re too nervous, Beautifly is sensing it.” He thought.
“You’re not on the same wavelength. You’re rushing your commands.” Drew recited in his head. He watched the three guys cheer up the girl that had just sunk to the ground in defeat.
A rugged boy around Drews age with messy raven hair and a red hat was encouraging the girl enthusiastically, a Pikachu by side.
“Whatever,” Drew let out a breath and closed his eyes, flipping his green hair from his face. That girl could try her hardest to perfect Silverwind, and those guys can keep on being her personal cheerleaders, but by the end of the contest he was going to end up on top.
“WATCH OUT!” a feminine voice suddenly shouted at him.
A lazy smirk glided along Drew’s mouth like an unwinding ribbon, and he didn’t move a muscle. Drew held out a hand and let the frisbee fly right into it. The cold, hard plastic pressed against the palm of his hand as he heard the girl footsteps against the sand as she reached the front of the bridge.
“I’m sorry,” she panted when she came to a stop.
Drew leaned against the banister and spun the girl’s frisbee around his finger, scoffing, “Please don’t tell me you’re planning on entering the Pokémon contest with the cheesy act like that.”
Drew almost jolted when the words came out of his mouth. He was almost about to apologize before he stopped. He was Andrew Hayden, and Andrew Hayden never apologizes.
Eyes still closed, Drew tossed the toy at the girl's feet and jumped off the bridge, navigating his way to the girl and her personal cheerleaders with ease. Now closer, Drew could feel her offense rolling off her more than the waves behind her.
“You have no finesse. No moves.” Drew continued. The mean words wouldn’t stop rolling off his tongue.
“Hey, who are you to tell me that!” The girl raged on like a Toros.
“If you must know, I’m Drew.” The said person did a cocky flip of his hair, smirking. “Pokémon Coordinator.”
Drew let his eyelids rise and came face to face with the most stunning pair of blue eyes he had ever seen.
………
MAY
Green Guy opened his eyes, and May felt caught off guard when she faced the most stunning pair of eyes she had ever seen.
They weren’t emerald, exactly — they were a lighter, softer shade of green that May would no doubt ponder about later at night. But right now Green Guy — Drew — stared back at May with a strange expression on his face. His pupils are dilated, and May couldn’t help but feel self-conscious as his eyes drank in her every feature.
May felt, as accurately as possible, like a Goldeen out of water.
“Really?” Ash's voice cut through the tension, and both coordinators snapped out of it. “That’s just like you May!” Ash exclaimed happily.
Drew cringed like the very thought of being related to May was painful and Max and Brock practically fell to the ground.
“Please, no comparison,” Drew flipped his hair and held out his hand in front of him, as if he couldn’t bear the sight of them. May looked ready to order Torchic to use Ember on the arrogant excuse-of-a-coordinator.
Drew continued insulting May as Beautifly flew down and elegantly perched herself on her head, tilting her head with curiosity. “You and your Pokémon here,” the green brat addressed May, “you have no style.” He turned his head away from them pridefully.
And … that’s it.
With an animalistic growl, May dove for the boy, literally ready to tackle him in her rage. Luckily, (for Drew sake, everybody but the two thought) Brock lunged forward in the nick of time and grabbed the girl by her forearms, successfully preventing May from her attempts of murder.
Drew didn’t flinch as May struggled to get out of her friend's grip.
“HOW DARE YOU! YOU CAN MAKE FUN OF ME ALL YOU WANT, BUT DON'T YOU DARE MAKE FUN OF MY POKÉMON — MMPH!?”
Drew pressed his hand against May’s trap to prevent his eardrums from being injured. He tossed her a careless smirk, amused and not at all intimidated by her temper.
May squirmed angrily in Brock’s death lock. This guy — this arrogant, cocky, grass-headed guy — had the audacity to touch her after insulting her and Beautifly? He must be joking.
“Whoa, just calm down little girl. I know you want a piece of this —” Drew gestured to his body with his other hand, “but I’m not interested in children.”
May got immense satisfaction when Drew actually took a step away from her as she went in for the kill again, dragging a shocked Brock along with her. Pikachu quickly shot off his partner's shoulder to grab onto the leg May was prepared to kick with. Beautifully quickly dropped back down on the brunette’s head to calm her down.
May took a deep breath, shutting her eyes for a second. She focused on the comforting weight of Beautifly weighing down on her neck before releasing her breath.
“Who are you calling little? We’re the same age," May retorted.
Drew simply ignored her comment and flipped his hair, purposefully ticking her off further.
Max jumped into the conversation, sensing his sister was about to blow again. “May, don’t listen to him," he said, sweating at the way May was eyeing Drew like a Mightyena would pounce on its prey.
“Yeah, why don’t you show us all your great Pokémon,” Ash butted in.
Drew rolled his eyes and answered snootily, “Why, what good would that do?”
Drew flipped his majestic (please note the sarcasm) green hair and locked eyes with May again. “I think,” he continued slowly, “that you all should be on your way.” Drew didn’t take his eyes off the blue-eyed girl as he jabbed his thumb behind him to the five-star hotel none of them had noticed before. “This is a private beach reserved for people like me staying at that hotel.” Drew tilted his head to the side, slightly challenging May — challenging them all — to argue.
May dragged her eyes from the fancy hotel to the boy standing a few feet ahead from her.
She hated him.
Rivalry burned in the pit of her stomach and she made sure she channeled all that heat into the glare she was giving him.
“Let’s go,” Ash broke the silence, grabbing May's wrist and tugging.
“Pika,” Pikachu, who was still at May’s feet, agreed and jumped on Ash's shoulder as the latter turned away and walked in the opposite direction.
“Yeah,” Brock said, unlocking May from his death grip and following Ash. Max followed the others, not before glancing nervously between the two coordinators who were in the middle of a face-off.
“Would you stop glaring at me like that? You look like a Gible,” Drew broke the silence as soon as the boys left.
“No,” May snapped back, anger evident in her tone. Beautify flew off her head and hovered above her.
Drew ran a hand through his hair and let it rest for a moment on her. Then he flipped his hair out and walked right up to her, not stopping until he was inches away from her. “I’ll see you at the contest, May,” he said teasingly, daring her to push him away.
May felt her hands ball up on instinct and her face burned with anger and embarrassment. The girl willed her feet to move, but to no avail.
That’s right,” May heard herself say. “You’ll see me win.”
Drew’s smirk grew wider and he leaned closer. Sapphire and emerald eyes burnt into each other. Both coordinators just stood there, staring at each other, standing in each other’s personal bubbles until May finally had the strength to pull away. Both watched each other like a hawk as May backed away from Drew scowling.
“Come on Beautifly, let’s go,” May finally said.
“Beautifly,” her Pokémon agreed.
Still, the trainers would not move, nor remove eye contact.
Finally, Drew turned on his heel and left, heading back to the hotel he had previously pointed out earlier. May and Beautifly stood and stared at Drew’s retreating form and May was left to ponder what had just transpired, blinking.
“What in Arceus’s name just happened?” May thought bewilderedly. Beautifly startled her out of it by landing on her head once more and May smiled at her Pokémon.
“I’m going to pound that arrogant piece of green hair into the battlefield when I win that ribbon,” May murmured to herself.
The young girl turned around and broke into a sprint, shouting, “Hey Ash! Let's have a Pokémon battle!”
WAIT YOU GUYS HELP ME OUT HERE
Did they ever specify the timespan that the hero in PMD2 was dead for after defeating Dialga and being erased from time??? Because it always felt like it was a number of months at bare minimum, maybe even a full year between their death and their revival.
There is no way the partner in that game, sentimental and sensitive as they are, wouldn't set up an honorary gravesite or a memorial of some sort for the hero. The people of Treasure Town would probably insist on erecting something in honor of the hero's sacrifice themselves--- a way of remembering a person who touched their lives and saved them all from a doom they didn't see coming, a way of ensuring, in the hero's words, nothing like that would ever happen again. I can't stop thinking about it.
The partner goes there when they need a moment to talk to the memory of their friend. They go there when they need a moment to weep in peace. They go there when they miss their friend so deeply it makes them ache to their very bones.
And at one point after the hero is brought back, they ask their partner what that new structure is in town. And the partner has to tell them hey, you remember how you were dead for all that time after you told me to tell everyone what happened at Temporal Tower? It's in that moment the hero realizes that life went on without them. They were gone, really gone, and their partner and the rest of Treasure Town grieved them accordingly.
All of a sudden that weird structure isn't just an eyesore, it feels like an omen. A tomb waiting to be filled. And in the start of the post-game, it keeps appearing in their nightmares...
Juliana was invited to the Land of Kitakami for a school trip with a few other classmates and a teacher from another school, and that school, the Blueberry Academy, was helping hostering them. Juliana was so excited to be selected! It was her first time traveling there and it would be a great opportunity to meet new people, a new place and new Pokémon.
Finally the long trip, ended, they finally arrived to Kitakami, the view was nothing but green grass, trees full of fruits and berries, beautiful bodies of water and rice paddies.
In the distance, the group spotted what it seems to be a small town, some houses and two buildings in the zone was the biggest places in the town.
After stepping out of the bus, Juliana went to inform of their arrival to the Caretaker, when a girl named Carmine and her brother Kieran, challenged her to a battle, she was strong, but nothing for Champion Juliana!
Juliana noticed that Kieran watched her during the battle, in a mix of astonishment and care, like studying her moves. She just smiled, maybe this was the opportunity to make a new friend? But Kieran just hid behind his sister, he was really shy.
After the battle, the class was free to explore a little. Juliana walked through the town, and she felt like it was nothing like Mesagoza, or any place in Paldea really.
The noise of the cities was replaced with the wind in the trees, the quiet chattering of people and the far cries of Pokémon. She could really use some calm from time to time, "I hope I can make friends here, it would be nice to visit this place once in a while, and mom would love it too, so many fresh ingredients for sandwiches!".
The next day, the Caregiver set an activity, and you partnered with Kieran. You two were really excited!(Even tho Kieran doesn't show his emotions very much...)
You two had a fun battle, and got to take photos with the signs.
Juliana spent the day with Kieran, he teached you history of his town and of the ogre. She found the story really interesting, and even felt sad for how the people treat the ogre, so you bound with Kieran pretty quickly.
"Hey Juliana, it's getting dark, I don't know if we'll catch the last sign today, but we better get goin' home, it's almost time for the Mask Festival!" Kieran said excited.
"Huh? Mask Festival? Tell me more please"
On the way home, Kieran explained the festival, and after putting on the outfit for the occasion, on they went.
He explained how much he loved the food and games, even tho he wasn't really good at them.
When they arrived, festive music could be heard in the distance, and a long set of stairs welcomed them. "Hehe, we also have loooong stairs at my school." Said Juliana.
"Really? So you'll get used to this ones soon!"
When they arrived, the place was completely different at how Kitakami was during the day, loud and cheerful festival music, strong smell of food and people selling their products from the top of their lungs, really set the ambience.
Juliana was a little overwhelmed, but maybe she could handle it for a while.
"So, what do you think, huh? They don't have festivals like this is Paldea" said Carmine mockingly.
"Yeah haha, we don't really, but it looks fun!" said Juliana.
"Juliana come here" Kieran called you from a candied apples tent "T-take this one, it's for y-you"
"Are you sure Kieran? Thanks you so much, it's gonna taste more delicious now that you gave it to me!"
"Oh d-don' worry, it's not big deal, grampa gave me some money so don't worry about it hehe..." Kieran slightly smiled.
After that, Juliana and Kieran played some games, ate some food, and did activities of the festival like 'Puting the mask on the ogre' and more.
After a while, when Juliana was checking the mask stand, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.
"Heey Juliana, come her! I saved us a good spot" Kieran called her from in front of the Hall, and she saw how a lot of people going there too, so she went, intrigued. "And what is this about? It's one of those shadow puppets shows? They are hilarious for what I've seen" said Juliana. "No, not tonight, since it's the first night of the festival, it's gonna be a fireworks show." Kieran explained. But as soon as the F word was said, she begging to freak out. "Fireworks show?!" Juliana squeaked. "Yes, usually the first and the last day of the festival, it's great and cool and they have ones with the shape and color of the ogre and...." Kieran kept rambling like everything related to the ogre, but Juliana stopped listening a while ago. "G-great right..? I-I'll go t-to bu-buy something to eat before the show starts, I-I'll be back...!" Juliana made a kick excuse, this usually helps. "Oh great idea! Don't take to long, I'll be waiting here." The truth is, that Juliana wasn't going back there. She bought some Kitakamian mochis(because her sugar was low after such fright), and walked down the street, to sit on the long set of stairs. As she reached a particularly comfy and far away stair step, she heard the fireworks begging. * PHIIIIIIIIIIIII BOOM *, a whistle and a boom made Juliana tremble like a stick, it was far enough so it wasn't extremely loud, but the noise still startled her. A pond near by reflected the fireworks, one after another, with no signs of stopping. "No way it's only been three minutes, it feels like an eternity..." Juliana checked her smartrotom, looking for a distraction, but there wasn't any signal on the hall. She only had her gallery to distract herself, where she saw the photos she took with Kieran that day. "I'm-I'm sorry Kieran...*sniff*, I'm too coward to even go and see the fireworks... *SNIFFFFFSNIF*" Tears dropped down her face, as she thought how she isn't with her new friend in what is supposed to be a happy moment, making a happy memory... One of her Pokémon came of their PokéBall to comfort her.
Back in the hall, Kieran started to get worried, looking for food shouldn't take this long, the stands were usually empty at the time of the fireworks, was her new friend ok? She was missing on the fireworks, and what if something happened?! So he went to check for Juliana.
"Hey Carmine, Juliana isn't back yet, I'll go check for her" whispered to her sister. "Juliana isn't here? I didn't noticed. Ok, but don't go to far, and you better bring her in one piece, or we'll both be in problems, I mean, YOU will be in big trouble" said Carmine, it was hard to tell if she was being serious or not, only Kieran knew.
"Julianaaa, Juliana where are you?" Kieran looked for her everywhere, at every game and stand. He looked for the whole festival, the only places left where the path to the mountain or back to the town, he discarded the first option because you went to the food stands, and he would've clearly seen if you took this path, so he made his way to the other road.
As Kieran went down the stairs, he saw a small figure sat on the first steps of the stairs, and a Pokémon with a distinctive ribbon used by Juliana, it was her. He SPRINTED to her trying not to fall down. "Juliana, you're... you're ok... I'm glad to see you're ok..." "Oh! *Sniff* K-kieran what are you doing here??" Juliana's voice was trying to not tremble a lot "It's just that, you went out running and didn't came back and I was worrin... Wait, are you really ok..?" Kieran noticed how she was white as a ghost and breathing weird...
"Y-yes I'm fine don't worry..." *BOOM* Another firework, this one specially loud, went off. "EEEEEK!" Juliana squeaked scared.
"Are u... Scared of the fireworks?" Kieran smelled some fear in her, but was just asking to sound polite.
"Eeeemmm... M-maybe a little... Too much...? Sorry but yes I don't like fireworks, they're too loud and surprising for me, I was never a fan... You probably think I'm weird, everyone likes fireworks... But you should go back there and watch them if you like! You wait the whole year for this festival" Juliana tried to convince Kieran.
"Of course not, everyone is scared of somethin', and yeah, I guess fireworks can be lou sometimes.. But no way I'm leaving you here all alone! You shouldn't leave.... Friends alone..." "I'm your friend Kieran?" Asked Juliana. "W-well yeah of course!" Kieran seemed humbled by the question. "Thanks for saying that! I really appreciate it! I'm glad we're friends!" Juliana hugged Kieran when *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* More fireworks, some in a row, made Juliana jump "AAAAAAAH!" Juliana hugged Kieran a little too hard. "Ouch! Hey hey everything's ok... Here, you can... Hold my hand... If you think t-that helps you..." Kieran turns red as a Tamato berry. "T-thanks Kieran..." Juliana took his hand and press it tight when a firework explodes, Juliana seems to calm down. "If noise is bothering you, I know a place where we can watch them from far away, what do you say?" Kieran proposes. "Thanks sounds nice, thanks Kieran..." And the two go to a calm area in a near mountain (with the help of your Poké Ride) to watch the rest of the show.
