If you pick Pokemon for the Pines' men, what do you think they would have?
If you're still taking drawing requests, and its not too much 👉👈
Tumblr media
such a tough one!
I didn't wanna give them generic ones to match their personalities, so I'm giving them counterparts instead. They're just two sides of the same coin :)
this had to be a quick one again! I'm gonna be outside a lot this week and my ipad keeps overheating lol
As for pokés I related to them for no reason in particular:
Ford:
Celebi
Unown
Porygon2
Spinda
Ditto
Stan:
Croagunk
Granbull
Poliwhirl
Golem
Electabuzz

Promo images for Dynamax Raids have been posted from Japanese media!
Info:
In battle when you Dynamax you can use 3 options: Max Guard to protect against damage, a Max Move and Max Spirit which will provide recovery to both your Pokémon and ally Pokémon. Each Dynamax Battle has a limited amount of turns to complete, you need to be more strategic.
1⭐ Max Raids require 250 Max Particles to enter. You can earn Max Particles by walking to Power Spots. Max Battles cannot be done remotely.
Only 4 people can participate in Max Battles at one time and you can use only 3 Pokémon and they have to be Dynamax capable to participate.
Pokémon can only be Dynamax capable if caught from Max Battles. Dynamax capable Pokémon can be used in all other facets of the game but will be unable to Dynamax during it.
You have the ability to upgrade the rewards from Max Battles using Poké Coins. In the example given, you could get an additional Golden Razz Bery, Rare, Candy, Hyper Potion and 10 Premier Balls for 100 Poké Coins
Power Spots, where Max Battles are located, can be found at random locations but don't take over existing Gyms or PokéStops
Max Move performance can be improved using Max Particles and Candy XL

Headcanon that Maggie, Team Shellshock, and Team Evergreen have a betting pool over if (when) Nia and Tobias will become an item. Maggie feels awkward about the gossip, but she knows those kids better than anyone, and there's a lot of money in that pot.
Oh, Maggie would absolutely win. She'd feel guilty about it afterwards, though, so she'd share half the winnings with Nia and Tobias.
Tobias: "Where'd you get so much poké, Maggie?!"
Maggie, sweating: "Oh, just some change I was holding onto for a rainy day!"
Nia: "We can't just take this!"
Maggie, shoving coins into their hands: "You really can, dear."

would you share a lil bit of your clanleadership story? i love that pair
Sure! I’m still not ready to start “officially” posting it — I want to have the whole thing done first, and I have several chapters to go — but here:
(From Chapter 2)
Glaceon suddenly trills an alarm. Irida can hardly turn before she’s met with a pair of wild yellow eyes, and her breath is knocked out as a blur of red and white tackles her to the ground. Pearly teeth and freezing breath hover above her face.
“Irida—!”
Glaceon leaps forward but sinks her teeth only into the Zoroark’s mane, not breaking skin. Zoroark easily disposes of her with a violent toss of its head. Irida struggles against the creature, but it has her pinned.
“Umbreon! Dark Pulse!”
Zoroark is struck and knocked off, but the claws of its left paw drag into Irida’s thigh in a failed bid to hang onto its prey. She cries out, tears pricking her eyes.
Glaceon shakes off her blow and surges for Zoroark again. This time, her teeth connect with Zoroark’s shoulder, and it roars in pain. Adaman then orders Umbreon to attack with Shadow Ball, and it hits the Zoroark squarely in the chest, pushing me the Pokémon further back. Finally, with a whimper, Zoroark turns and flees the scene.
Adaman and Glaceon are both at Irida’s side not a breath later.
“Almighty—” he starts, his voice bordering on frantic. “Are you all right?”
“I—” Irida realizes she’s breathing in panicked bursts. She forces herself to try gulping down a deeper breath of air, but water fills her lungs instead, and she coughs. The rain is coming down harder. “I don’t know.”
Her white shorts are now a dirty pink from blood mingling with smears of mud. She only eyes her injury for a second before she must look away, queasy. Three sharp gashes cut through her upper thigh. She’s seen far more gruesome wounds, but never on herself; a life of careful, calculated actions has protected her from physical harm outside the occasional scrape, scratch, or bruise—until now.
Adaman pulls out a Poké Ball. “Return, Umbreon,” he says. The Pokémon vanishes into his hand in a flash of blue light.
Irida gapes at him. “You…”
He doesn’t let her finish the thought. “Can you walk?” he asks. He doesn’t let her respond either, not before he scoops her up into his arms. Irida squeaks and instinctually wraps her own arms around his neck. “Let’s find some shelter.”
Adaman helps her back onto Wyrdeer, now seating her closer to the withers. He doesn’t mount Wyrdeer this time; instead he guides the noble forward, searching. Glaceon anxiously flanks Wyrdeer, watching Irida.
It isn’t long before they find a cavity within a cliffside—not quite an actual cave, but still a dry spot. Adaman stops Wyrdeer beneath the natural roof and pulls Irida off him, gently setting her on the ground. Without the rain pouring above them, Adaman takes it upon himself to assess the damage to Irida’s leg.
“… It actually doesn’t look too bad. Shallow,” he remarks. “It might not even scar if we take care of it properly. Let’s get you patched up.”
Irida is breathing easier now that the shock of being attacked has worn off. Adaman’s steadier presence has helped calm her, too.
“I… I’ve got some grain alcohol and bandages,” Irida says, reaching for her satchel. The thick medicinal bottles and vials click together as she rummages inside and pulls them out one by one to find what she needs. She’s dressed wounds many times before, and her mind tries to enter the same clinical, even-headed state needed whenever she cares for another.
“You really did bring everything.” Adaman might have sounded dry under different circumstances. Irida doesn’t respond.
Finally, she pulls out the alcohol. She pops off the cork and holds the bottle over her injured thigh; yet, her hand trembles, and eventually, she hands it off to Adaman.
“I–I can’t do it to myself,” Irida admits, her voice shaking. “Will you?”
“Yeah.” He grasps the neck and starts to tip it.
“Don’t use all of it,” Irida says quickly. “Coin might need some.”
Surprise flickers in his eyes. The Miss Fortune Sisters must have been a faraway thought in his head at that point, and he probably expected that she would abort their mission after this. Honestly, Irida herself didn’t realize she was still committed until after she spoke.
“All right,” he agrees. “You ready?”
Irida squeezes her eyes shut, sucks in a breath, and nods. She doesn’t see the moment Adaman pours the alcohol, but she feels it, burning her skin hotter than the blue center of a flame. An involuntary cry escapes her lips, and a few traitorous tears slip down her already wet face. Adaman rests a warm and comforting hand on her knee, gently shushing her.
He barely lets her recover before he speaks again. “I don’t suppose you’ve got any dry towels stored up in your satchel?”
Irida isn’t sure if it’s meant to be a joke. She lets out a tearful chuckle anyway, even though it’s not very funny. “No,” she says.
“Well.” Adaman flaps his hand in front of her wounds, attempting to dry off what the alcohol didn’t.
Irida reaches for her satchel again to look for her roll of bandages. She finds it and pulls it out. The first few layers are damp, but beneath those, it’s fine. Irida starts to unravel the roll though her hands are shaking worse than before.
“Let me.” Adaman reaches for the roll. “Let me.” She doesn’t put up a fight. He starts at the center of her thigh, just below the injury, and starts to wind the bandages around her leg.
“N-Not too tight, please,” Irida requests. He obliges her, loosening the wrap just the slightest bit. He continues in silence until he reaches the end of the wounds and ties off the bandage.
Afterward, Adaman takes it upon himself to pack away her medicines whilst she recuperates. Irida unconsciously rocks herself to cope with the lingering pain. Glaceon mewls worriedly, and Irida needily reaches for her.
“Oh, you were so brave protecting me,” Irida coos, hugging Glaceon close. “Thank you.”
She half-expects Adaman to make some wry remark taking credit. He doesn’t. She looks up and sees him now resting against the rock wall, eyes closed. The tip of his finger is centered on the top of a Poké Ball—the same as Umbreon’s or another? For all Irida knows, he keeps all his Pokémon in Poké Balls now—and he idly rolls the device in a slow circular pattern against the ground.
A dozen emotions, many of them contradicting one another, rise in Irida’s chest. There is a lot she wants to say, and she isn’t sure where to begin.
“They make it easier to travel.”
Irida straightens up. “What?”
“The Poké Balls,” Adaman clarifies. His eyes crack open. “I started using them because they make for easy travel. My Pokémon still roam free most of the time, but the Galaxy Team is onto something here.”
Irida is stunned. Not because Adaman is now a professed user of Poké Balls—it’s hardly surprising in retrospect, given his casual attitude toward the Galaxy Team’s more peculiar practices—but because he knew that was, at least, one of the things on her mind.
She can’t read his mood right now. His aloof tone contradicts the tender care he just showered upon her. Perhaps he’s feeling as awkward as she is. It hardly mattered in the desperation of the moment—soaked and scared—but now that the moment has passed, a sense of their separation rises. They’re not friends; they’re barely allies. They simply don’t know what to do with each other anymore, not after something like this.
Irida realizes maybe she should thank him.
“Um… Adaman…”
He looks at her.
Thank you. Just say it. Yet, the words are lodged in her throat. She doesn’t understand why. He thanked her when she saved his life. Can she not do the same? She is neither a prideful nor a stubborn person. Humility is like an old friend to Irida; she’s been in its company many times among her clan. She cannot believe it would abandon her now.
“I’m grateful to you,” Irida finally manages, “for tending to me.”
She remains tense. Irida realizes perhaps it’s because it doesn’t feel like enough. She suddenly remembers something he said weeks earlier: “Words don’t mean much if you don’t back them up with actions.”
He’s still sopping with water.
Perhaps he might have said something, accepted her gratitude, but then Irida adds, “Your… your bandages are wet.”
Adaman casts a cursory glance at his right arm. The wrap has begun to come loose at the top.
“So they are,” he hums indifferently. His response puzzles her.
“We need to change them,” Irida continues. “The skin beneath will start to macerate.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“It could infect your wounds.”
“I said I’ll be fine, Irida,” he snaps.
The unwarranted anger in his voice jolts her, and it stings worse than she would expect. Irida theatrically shifts her whole body away from him. It’s childish, perhaps, but it gets the point across. Adaman groans, and his face falls into his hands.
“I’m sorry,” he says. His voice is wracked with genuine remorse, but Irida isn’t quite ready to forgive him. She cautiously looks at him again, waiting.

The fact that Pokémon is short for Pocket Monsters is absolutely wonderful to me, but it's also cursed me to think about the naming conventions of items a bit too much.
- Poké Balls? Pocket Balls.
- Poké Beans? Pocket Beans.
- Poké Puffs? Pocket Puffs.
- PokéCoin? Pocket Coin.
- Poké Mart? Pocket Mart (Pocket Market?)
If anything, we should be using Mon as the common name for everything, but I don't think Mon Balls or Mon Puffs would be any better.

Pokébased : when your system origins are heavily influenced by pokémon in some way; a xeno-origin for systems. Can be interpreted as loosely or as closely as you need.
Like Pokégenic this was originally (for us at least) meant to be a sort of reclamation of the "gotta catch 'em all" attitudes that fakeclaimers, sysmeds, ableists, whatever you call them, tend to exude when they're harassing other folks even if they aren't explicitly stating it (especially when it comes to larger systems or Xive-heavy ones). Ioo it's good to reclaim things and use them against your oppressors when it's done responsibly.
And like Pokégenic, that's not the only thing it can be used for. Will be part of a series of poké- system terms because...we like pokémon, like neurodiversity, and this is a great way for us to indulge in our special interests.

FUN FACT!: Pokémon: Magikarp Jump! is the ONLY game in the series with PERMADEATH.
Basically, there are a few random events where your Magikarp can die if you're unlucky.
For example, if you decide to have your Magikarp open one of those item pick-up Poké Balls that are all over the place in the games for some reason, you MIGHT get some Coins. OR the Item Ball might turn out to be a Voltorb, who'll then explode, killing your Magikarp instantly, and forcing you to start over with a new one.
If you decide to have your Magikarp jump to a high branch to get a Berry during training, you MIGHT get a lot of Jump Points (necessary for leveling up your Magikarp). OR a Pidgeotto might carry away your Magikarp to eat it.
If you have Magikarp jump out of the water rapidly during training, a Pidgeotto might just carry it away (Bulbapedia lists this off as a retirement rather than a death). This one can only happen ONCE, thankfully, so once you lose ONE Magikarp this way, you don't have to worry about losing any others like this.
Also, if you break your Magikarp's Ever Stone, it has a chance of Evolving into Gyarados with every Level Up past level 20, and since you're training it for a competition that ONLY allows Magikarp...
See I could not handle this I can't even do a nuzlocke don't make me canonically lose the baby

Want some Gimmighoul coins? I've got a few dozen I'll probably never use.
Btw how are Roto & Koraidon doing?
-From @clvr-the-insect-enthusiast
YES. A MILLION TIMES YES!! IM PRETTY SURE THERES THIS INTER-DIMENSIONAL MAIL SERVICE WE CAN USE!
Roto….isn’t doing the best. I didn’t wanna post about it because it happened to him and it’s not my place to put stuff like that but…long story short, I’m going to be beating up a LOT of Team Star members.
Koraidon is….well. It’s definitely something.
I haven’t taken any pictures because it rarely comes out of its his Master- er, Poké Ball, and when I do take it out. It’s aggressive as hell, clearly doesn’t trust me and refuses to eat out of a bowl or by hand. It eats food I leave out when it thinks nobody else is around.
As if that wasn’t already an issue, apparently, some other really territorial and dangerous Koraidon is also loose in the region??? So now there’s two Koraidons running around, one worse than mine. I’ve, obviously, kept my cool, having trained and cared for traumatized, aggressive Pokémon during my time in Sinnoh. Only a couple of stitches!
I’m just…really worried. The professor said that if I spotted the territorial Koraidon, I shouldn’t engage with it no matter what. But somebody has to stop that thing.
I just don’t know if I’m strong enough to.
…But ppppft! Who cares about all that junk! You should GIMMIE some Gimmighoul coins! Hahaha…I’m funny.

[OFFSCREEN POST]
The Lillipup wanders through the halls of the mayor’s manor, peeking down the large halls and through wide doorways that are made to comfortably house a Torterra. There is no sound but the soft thuds of Bingo’s paws as she curiously trotted through the building, Mister Lucario had business with Mister Torterra which meant Bingo was left to her own devices for the first time in the past few days and she was now using this time to explore properly.
As she rounded a corner, she noticed the faint sound of someone mumbling to themselves and the shuffling of papers further down the way. Slowing down her stride, she carefully walked down the hall and towards a doorway, the light of the setting sun through the window casting her in shadow.
Tumblr media
It was Mister Remoraid, hovering and moving around a desk as he whispered to himself. Bingo swivels her ears in his direction, still unused to the strength of her senses but ever so curious about what was being spoken about.
“Then if I add the profits from the last week that evens out to… Seven hundred thousand Poké for the Miss,” he spoke, nodding to himself before he began slipping the Poké into two coin purses.
The Lillipup tilted her head, her ear flicking off to the side before she simply shrugged her little shoulders and went back on her way down the hall. Mister Lucario will probably be back soon, she should go find him.

S/I’s little personality description (like the fand//om wi//ki): 🌟
Freya is a polite, though typically reserved girl upon first impressions despite her pleasant demeanour. Her oddly formal manner of speaking and noticeable control over her tone and facial expression often are described as creepy or insincere amongst some of her peers and acquaintances — Freya acknowledges this as a way to put distance between her and others. Whether she sees this as a defensive mechanism or to exert superiority over others isn’t clearer-cut and seems to depend on the individual’s interpretation. As she’s foreign to Japan, she struggles with the use of honorifics and her language structures can be rather stiff when not communicating in English; this further attributes to her formal syntax and general reserved nature as she fears being judged for such an incapability or being seen as anything less than intelligent.
She’s quick to judge others, and can jump to rash conclusions due to her anxious nature and subsequent overthinking — though she only shares these points when relevant and is never directly accusatory; she can still be rather passive-aggressive. She doesn’t seem to have an intuitive knowledge of socialisation, and instead relies upon psychological theory and personal experiences to analyse or imitate someone’s behaviour and act accordingly. Freya is beyond competent in this field, and claims that the way she learned to analyse emotions and words was a heavy contributor to her becoming the Ultimate Orator despite the initial shortcomings of her predisposition.
When learning to trust those around her, the polite “perfect” image of herself quickly crumbles and she starts to express herself in a more passionate manner, her way of speaking much looser to the point of it bordering on nonsensical as her mind thinks faster than she speaks. Freya is an enjoyer of bad puns, pop culture, cooking, the arts, true crime, and the occult — much of which she speaks in great detail when comfortable. To those she’s close to, she is protective, loyal, and thoughtful towards, but also very sensitive to if she thinks she’s done something wrong. When her guard is down, she’s really just a naïve and excitable child who’s rather loving and affectionate when appropriate.
Her lonely, pressured upbringing makes her rather sympathetic to her childhood friend though later “rival”, Byakuya — being able to gain an understanding of human connection and sympathy through one another’s similarities and differences to upbringings/ experiences that are on “different sides of the same coin”. Later, they grow closer to then become lovers (though in Trial 2 Mo//nokuma remarks Byakuya always harboured a protective and softer instinct when it came to her). Their understanding of one another and their inherit differences catalyse growth in each other, having an intimacy where they emotionally heal together from traumatic family upbringing.
Freya was only scouted as an Ultimate due to H//ope’s Pe//ak scouting Byakuya — as upon recognising him they learned of her being his academic rival for a period at their former high school.

Her and Byakuya are one of the two pairs to attended the same former high school, the other being Sakura and Peko.
Freya makes many references to pop-culture in her later F//TE’s and school mode interactions. Though some are from popular anime (Dra//gon Ba//ll, Poké//mon, etc.) most are from Western shows such as St//ar Wa//rs, St//ar Tr//ek, and Do//ctor Who.
She is the only character in the franchise with naturally curly hair, though it is said she straightens the tops of her tendrils and sets her hair in a particular way when she sleeps. In a F//TE she mentions that she spends too much time braiding/ doing her hair up and grows frustrated at how it never quite meets her standards of neatness regardless of her efforts.
—> She states many people want to see what her hair looks like out, but her perfectionistic attitude and sensory issues deny that request. It’s implied her family says this, though Byakuya is inferred to having an interest when she recalls him giving her curling mousse and never giving an explanation: “He just stared blankly at me without talking, but I’ve known him long enough to know it’s a bit of an affectionate look for him.”. Her hair is inches below her waist straightened.
She is confirmed to wear light and simple makeup and has minor skin issues. Many of her F//TEs allude to a strong insecurity in her looks despite how she’s had positive reception towards her appearance.
Like Byakuya, she hates inappropriate subject matter.
She is commented on having large “doe” eyes, though due to stylistic limitations this doesn’t show clearly.

nothing matters…but maybe that means i can be anything!
[IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A panel of a hand drawing Scourge from Warriors. Text reads “I used to draw things for the heck of it.”
A panel of a young person looking at a drawing of a cat on a computer. Text reads “the only audience I ever thought of were my online roleplay groups.” The young person says with a smile, “woah! Keegan drew my OC!”
Text reads “or my own self indulgence.” A panel of a young version of me holding up a picture of a person with a poké ball, saying “this is me as a Pokémon trainer!”
Myself currently, a short haired person with round glasses wearing a turtleneck sweater. A cartoonish spirit leaves my body, suggesting exhaustion. Text reads “but now…”
Me yelling to the sky, hands to my face, saying “why can’t I stop thinking about metrics?”
Text reads “lately, drawing’s been hard for many reasons.” A panel of a few illustrations of the reasons float near me on a chair, eyes closed in exhaustion. The reasons include “money, health, school” and are portrayed by a drawing of a bill and two coins, pills, and a book respectively.
A panel of myself looking back as an eye ominously hovers close. Text reads “and, well…”
Text reads “feeling like I’m being watched.” A panel of the eye closer to me. The camera looks at me from behind as I sweat nervously.
Text reads “existing online is weird for me. Even if I don’t have a bunch of followers, the pressure to post relevant things constantly still exists for me.” Under the text is a simple illustration of someone’s twitter profile.
A panel of me with a lightbulb shining near me. Text reads “sometimes I get an idea that I wanna execute! But…”
A panel of me resting my head on my hand in front of an iPad. A clock ticks in the background. Text reads “I always end up overthinking it, wondering if I should even bother if nobody but me cares about it.” In a drippy speech bubble, I sigh “I do this for free, is it even worth the time?”
Text reads “I’ve spend a lot of time thinking I was vapid for having these thoughts. After all, shouldn’t artists not think of such worldly things and focus on ‘their craft’?” There is an illustration of me holding an artist’s palette and a brush, swooning dramatically and saying “who needs frivolous things like ‘money’ or ‘food’? All I need is my art!”
Below that, text reads “yeah, typing this out I realize this is far from the truth.”
An ouroboros eating its own tail, stylized to look like my raptor fursona. Text reads “still, I’m not even in school for art. Am I allowed to even have these feelings? But also, if I had any desire to get a foot in the industry, shouldn’t I cultivate a large following to begin with? This is the ouroboros of a thought process I deal with sometimes.”
A split panel of me sitting with a neutral expression at a coffee table as everything is on fire around me. Text reads “oddly enough as the internet becomes more and more hostile to artists, a sense of calm has washed over me.”
Text reads “nothing matters. I might as well make whatever I wanna make while I can.” An illustration of an improved drawing of Scourge from Warriors on an iPad. END ID.]

two for one here
🤍 - What would your character be like if they were a hero of a region?
🖤 - What would your character be like as an evil team leader? What would their motivation be?
who says i'm not a hero. you don't know that.
((They're not a Hero, but they are an unwilling Chosen. If they were a hero, they wouldn't be working at poké depot and would've stayed in Kalos. But they're a chosen who didn't want that. So they moved to Unova to hopefully escape that. Eventually they have to accept that, right?
get rid of legendaries. everyone always praises them or tries to use them for an ego trip. why not just get rid of them? they can't bother people with being chosen. people won't seek them out. use them for power. they... they wouldn't hurt people....
((I think they answered well enough themselves here. but personality, more unhinged and unpredictable. they'll keep the stoic, smug, attitudes all while their mood is decided on a coin flip.

Something quick for Mermay before it's over. Perfect excuse to draw Mer!Stephan again. He found a bag of Poké dollars in coin form. He had no idea that it's valuable, just that it's pretty.
