Sweetheart. Eyes that catch Your attention And hold it With beneficial intention Asking for mutual respect Reciprocating an everlasting impression... I’m very tactful with words But studder upon verbal expression. I possess a fountain of spiritual wealth— Take a sip at your discretion. Too good to be true A recipe for a destruction and perfection Luckily I’m a perfectionist Utilizing intuition for direction— I don’t speak much Because words are inventions And I’ve created many things So, I’m careful with my intentions... First, foremost and in conclusion Is my soul’s loss prevention Because I can’t afford eye blockages Or stressing over hypertension Caused by someone else’s need for love When I’m only here for attention. Sometimes being a poet is frustrating. You want to work on another project, like, say, looking up how to fix the erosion problems in your front yard. Brain: “We could write a poem about that.” Poet: “We could, but that won’t fix the driveway from slipping into the street.” Brain: “That’s a good line. Use it.” Poet: “No. I’m reading about compost and how decomposition binds broken things back together and revitalizes the earth.” Brain: “....Use that one too.”
