i think pod save america made a really good point in the episode they released yesterday about the election. the democrats took an angle of defending democracy and defending the system, but the fact of the matter is the system isn't working for the majority of americans. and they're starting to feel that. but here comes donald trump, who calls out government officials willy nilly. he says he's gonna change all these things, and while they may not be good changes, i think many people are desperate enough that they will take anything. bernie sanders understood this out when he said the democrats have turned their backs on the working class, and in return, the working class has turned their backs on democrats. the democrats need to learn from this election that the public just doesn't trust them anymore, and they need to regain that trust. veering further right and trying to appeal to moderate republicans didn't work, and it won't work. they need to spend the next four years restoring trust with the working class.

Watching Vote Save America’s Trek the Vote.
Jon Lovett: Do you think Donald Trump is giving off big Borg energy?
Jeri Ryan: NO. The Borg’s whole thing was perfection. We would stay as far away from this guy as we *possibly* could.

Republican talking heads are trying to blame Biden for Easter moving to trans visibility day, which has been celebrated on March 31st since 2009.
Trans Day of Visibility and Easter also coincided in 2019, when Donald Trump was president. Obviously, he will be issuing his sincere apology any moment now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, while calendar days do not move, Easter moves to follow the full moon, passover, and the days of the week. Passover is in April this year, but Easter is falling a month early as Christianity doesn't account for Hebrew leap years. So really, it's the Catholic Crutch that decided to combine the two holidays celebrated by finding and cracking pastel eggs.
They're also claiming to be upset about the language requesting artwork not be overly religious or political. Language that has not changed for the last 45 years, and was in place when Trump was President.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fox and Trump are understandably upset that Dark Brandon has such sway over the calendar, the Catholic church, and, of course, the literal phases of the moon. But maybe if Pope Francis trusts him with such important decisions, we should too.

This is such a great Interview & a really important message for liberals & progressives who are thinking of sitting out this election because Harris hasn't disavowed the war in Gaza:
youtube
In primary elections, voting against Democrats can successfully pressure the party to move to the left. But in general elections, when Democrats lose, the party invariably moves to the right.
Elected officials appeal to the people who vote for them, so refusing to vote for the candidate you more closely align with because of their stance on one or two issues doesn't send the message that they need to change their stance, it sends the message that they shouldn't bother trying to appease you because it's impossible to get your vote.
Full Interview: AOC comes in at 47:30

For funsies, I'm gonna formally make an election prediction and see if it's right in a few days.
The Presidency
I predict Harris 286 vs Trump 252 in the electoral college. She'll win Wl, MI, PA, NV, and GA while losing NC and AZ.
I think that Harris's increased strength with college educated whites and white women will deliver WI, MI, and PA. The Harry Reid political machine's insane turnout game will deliver NV. I think that a combination of enthusiasm, and the increased college-educated, suburban population will deliver Georgia. I think waning strength with minority men and the sheer inertia of historical Republican support will lose AZ and NC for Harris.
I predict that the popular vote will be 50-47 in favor of Harris (+2.5D).
The Senate
I think that the Senate will end up with a one seat Republican majority (51R-49D). I think that Dems will hold every seat except WV and MT and win all of the swing state Senate races. So Tester will lose and Brown will win. I don't think that Dems will flip any Republican seats, nor will Osborn win in Nebraska.
The House
I predict that Dems will win the house narrowly with a 5-10 seat majority. I think that most of the gains will come from recovering ground in NY and CA while holding onto some razor-thin swing districts they won in 2022.

I'm hoping this video starts at the right time-stamp. If not, it's 47:18. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez makes a powerful case for why Americans leftists should vote for Kamala Harris.
