I.. I’m kind of at a loss for words. I’m. That’s it, huh? It’s really over. It doesn’t FEEL over. There’s so much unfinished business. Well, the only way to really neatly wrap everything up as neatly as S1 did would have been to get ALL THE WAY through the Garou arc, which obviously wasn’t going to happen, but this is not a great spot to leave off if we’re going to endure another few years hiatus. My hope is that, with biweekley manga updates, we should wrap up the Monster Association/Garou stuff (assuming it doesn’t diverge from the web comic too much) some time next year, and I’m HOPING that s3 is already being planned accordingly along side manga publications. So MAYBE it will at least be announced around that time 2020. That’s my wishful thinking at least. I don’t think I can survive 3 years. anyway

You could really tell JC Staff poured their hearts and souls into these last 2 episodes. Absolutely gorgeous, paced well, so completely satisfying and making every second of s2 worth while. For me, at least. I’ve already seen people still complaining and I’m just sorry they didn’t have as much fun as I did. 

Seriously, thank each and every one of you guys. This has been a wild ride, I’ve barely had this blog a few weeks before season 2 started airing (and honestly just got into opm maybe a month before that?), so I owe a lot of the success on the blog to the anime I bet. This was the first series I’ve never tried live bogging, and I honestly can’t believe that they were as popular as they were? Especially since I never have any idea what I’m doing but yall listen to me ramble anyway?? Yall are crazy thank you so so so much. Now my tuesdays are gonna feel really empty… next week is gonna be weird as hell. Though I’m gonna get mad nostalgic good vibes rewatching this season in the future in no small part from sharing my experience with everyone who's stuck around. wow enji ur trying to making me gush about my fave kids. you literally chose not ONE, but TWO of my favorites and i guess i just gotta go off on you buddy. this is gonna be a THESIS SO PREPARE URSELF

okay so first i’ll start with naruto. my sunshine, my sweet summer child with the ferocious desire to be loved and acknowledged. naruto when we’re introduced to him is an absolute little shit! he pulls terrible pranks, is very loud and disruptive, and such a turd. hes the worst brat ever and this child instantly became my favorite, hes so fun and also very expressive and BOASTING with energy. see naruto is very much an empathetic character, he feels, he connects with others by listening to their stories, finding bits of himself in them and relating to them. whether thats vain or not, im not sure, but i love that about him. i love that he tries to reach out despite the fact that the entire village turned away from him and saw him not as naruto himself, but as the nine tails. the monstrosity that tore apart the village and killed hundreds. naruto just wanted people to see him, to look at him and give him attention. first he got iruka, then team 7, then the rest of the rookies saw the bright light that he is and fell in love with him. narutos so warm and so full of life, he feels things so intensely and passionately. i love emotional people like that. naruto is earnest and he struggles a lot with even his own self doubt and how he views himself as not good enough. BUT GOD FORBID U EVER PUT YOURSELF DOWN AROUND HIM BECAUSE HE IS SURE TO GIVE YOU A PIECE OF HIS MIND AND TELL YOU THAT YOURE AMAZING!! AND GREAT AND COOL! narutos like that. (which also noting that lee is very much like that to him in that special chapter when he saw naruto was upset and just bashed in his home to ask him to hang out) he keeps a lot of it bottled up and throws in a smile to “im fine!! haha :D im doing okay no worries!!” when so many people like shikamaru and sakura and sai see through that, and know hes hurting and in pain. i think its important to note that he holds a lot of those negative feelings in and even he feels like hes not even sure anymore which is what makes him so human to me seeing him struggle and strive is something i think we all deeply relate to. naruto deserved to breathe as a character, maybe we couldve delve in a bit more in the deepest depths of him instead of everyone viewing him as some knucklehead who doesnt know anything and only knows when to talk and try to talk no jutsu people when in reality hes so much more. anyways i absolutely adore naruto and i love everything about him and how hes so firm and never stops believing in himself and the people around him. though yes he has quite of a hero complex and has knack of butting in but hes learning and growing into himself becoming the splendid ninja we all know him to be. also its GHASTLY that we never got to see more kurama and naruto moments because those were so much fun to see in the fourth war arc anyways. have a little bit of naruto and kurama here 

now onto my darling hinata. the most magnificent, uncertain dearest thing ever to walk in this series. hinata is presented off as being incredibly shy, having a hard time voicing her own opinions and completely budging at even the slightest amount of sharpness and cruelty. 

she slowly becomes unsure and doubts herself because of being raised in such a strict family situation that was very much full of prestige and traditions. a family that wasnt really a family at all but just full of an oppressive air. i think a lot of us who grew up in HIGHLY conservative households can relate to that. 

hinatas life is something that wasnt very good to her. hinata made me absolutely bawl during her chunnin exams fight with neji. neji vs hinata did it for me. it struck a chord in me and it caused me to cry so hard that i couldnt even read the panels, she just. she was seen as a failure, as worthless of not doing well and never being good enough. hinata became to believe those cruel things that her own self worth and values weren’t anything. that they were…replaceable and that u can easily toss her aside. hinatas own self sacrificing attitude i think stemmed from thinking that she wasnt worthy enough to live, but to protect those precious people in her life the inspiration she saw in naruto himself she realized “even if i cant amount to anything i can do this one thing and maybe protect people. to prove to people that i am worth something” which is very much how her fight with neji and even her short lived fight against pein went. 

hinata at her very core, is amazing and kind, she struggles and struggles with herself, soft spoken and well mannered i like to think she even has a hard time with how she views herself as a heiress. she is naive in the sense of not knowing fully well why neji loathed her but even then she was too young to remember the branding that took place and the abuse internally in the family. i think when she begins to discover those things she realizes and i like to think she begins to voice her own thoughts in the matter, i think when she was able to confide in neji and be there for one another it was so good for her because he was such a good role model and mentor and brother; her family and someone who was like her other half. 

hanabi and neji are the best parts to hinata and she adores them. also i feel like she very much is a doting big sister to hanabi, hanabi loves to joke around with her and holds hinata in high regards (without hinata knowing ofc because YOU KNOW big sisters cant know we deeply admire them duh). but i think there shouldve been some more in depth scenes among the hyugas and the training in the series in the manga. 

i wish we had gotten to see more of it and see more to hinata and her blossoming into herself as the character we all know and love. her becoming politically involved in a loose way in the hyugas is so vital i think she still even lends hanabi a hand and she was raised to be that way!! i just ugh i just love hinata and all that she is as a character. hinata has so much and so much to unpack as a character shes amazing and bright. let us also not forget her other wonderful family team 8 and kurenai who believed in hinata from the very beginning who knew how strong she would become. hinata is very dear to me in every way possible

Group name Seventeen with 13 members because 13 members, 3 units and 1 team equals 13 (also originally they had 17 members but this works too). 

They finally debuted on May 26, 2015 after being pushed back for far to long

1. How did you get into the Musical Touken Ranbu franchise? What was your first impression of it?

i got into it bc of @ohai-there​ and i was more of a peripheral fan of the entire touken ranbu franchise

i lov atsukashiyama a lot and the storyline always gets me also bc it makes sense that they couldn’t change the past (coughs at bakumatsu) i just like when people follow the rules that have been set out for them, me looks at mihotose, pushes it away, that’s a paradox. anyways i like sai’s storyline also but i feel like bakumatsu is stronger in that respect

3. Storyline that you would change? Why?

bakumatsu tenrouden, i just wanted them to not change the past, even though that wouldve been tragic, but like the entire point is to keep their previous master’s memory and if you change it it’s technically no longer ur master buddy, get shit on okita-kun i lov u but-

uh the drinking bit in bakumatsu, and when imanotsurugi jumps over iwatooshi’s naginata. these are both really cute and i love the context, also when hachisuka downs the sake is good shit and i love the dynamic b/w imanotsurigi and iwatooshi

IWATOOSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but even then, i feel like the expansion on all the character however minute from how the games potray them is one of the best things to have happened to me, bc with the games its stagnant and still but with the musicals they literally come to life and its a lot more spontaneous even if it’s scripted. i really like iwatooshi’s character bc there is less of “im the greatest thing ever can u even wield me lol amuse me” or him sleeping lmao and more of him focusing on imanotsurigi and it’s wonderful and cute and i love it 

9. Least favourite Musical Touken Ranbu character? Why? How is the musical version of him different from how he is portrayed in the game and other media?

i don’t like yasusada’s character in all media esp when its him just angsting over okita-kun just bc of the whole break the rulez thing that really grinds my gears, i really do like okita-kun but like dont really like the bending time bc that just breaks the entire??? universe???? anyways i think yasusada shouldve become retrograde army bc he actually changed the timeline but i wouldn’t like that bc he’s a cool dude when he’s over it lol

10. The Top 3 (or more xD) actors whom you like best and whose portrayal of their characters you like best.

1. saeki daichi does such a good job with iwatooshi

2. sakiyama tsubasa is so pretty and really suits ishikirimaru 

3. i really liked takahashi’s hachisuka and like wow, so pretty what a good smirk 

4. kuroba mario is 100% my fave mikazuki, i feel like bc i didn’t watch the stageplay until i was very comfortable with mario as mikazuki i was like who is this????? blue haired???? man????? when i watched the stageplay (although hiroki did a really fuckn good job too)

i actually don’t dislike any of the actors????? their potrayals are all really frickin good and i enjoyed the musicals bc of this

is this like build a squad bc lemme tell you, , , iwatooshi, ishikirimaru, hachisuka, nagasone, horikawa and kane-san. THIS IS SO UNCONVENTIONAL BUT I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I CAN LOOK PAST LITERALLY ANY OF THE BAD LINEUPS LOL

holy fuck its a tie b/w hijikata and kondou bc i love them a lot, also bc im biased bc of the fact saitou hajime isn’t in the musicals me crying, also bc hakuouki has me like mmm binch anyways it’s either hijikata or kondou i love them equally in different ways

i love it very much and hold it close to my heart and i really like all of the actor’s portrayal of the characters and would like to see more of them all again

my first opinion was just this is just plot and boys what and now im thoroughly invested and need 2 have that sweet sweet satisfaction of more musicals (w sanjou + kashuu obv)

Work you are most proud of (and why):

deff yail just because it was such a personal story and i loved the way i was able to play it out. while aspects of it were true to my life, there were a lot of things i had to leave out but i still put it together as a whole fic and i think it worked! i was happy with my writing in it, i am in love with all the characters, and i just really enjoyed the POSITIVE reactions it got. im happy i was true to the story and did it the way i wanted to. 

Work you are least proud of (and why):

umm in terms of THIS YEAR, maybe lpl since i have been so shit on updating it. my inspiration is just lacking and time is running out on me in lightening speed. but idk it’s hard to say bc sometimes even though i think the piece is okay i still put it out and then later cringe at what i wrote. i think everyone does that tho

A favorite excerpt from your writing:

this is hard but two things that come to mind right away are from yail. one is chapter 22: the one where harry finds out. that chapter...was a hard one to write. so much had to be said and i needed to make sure i expressed the emotions properly without making it seem TOO over the top. in scenes like those it’s tricky. another that comes to mind is chapter 25: the one where the school year comes to an end. this is a breakup scene and usually breakup scenes are full of emotion but are often rushed or just...cringey. but i was very happy with this one. i took...stuff from how i felt during a breakup and i think that made it real. anyway here’s an excerpt:

“I’ll do anything to make it work, though,” Louis said, practically begging. “You don’t know -- you don’t --.” He could barely speak through his tears because it felt like his throat was sealing up and Harry looked absolutely devastated. Louis’d never thought that after everything they’d been through that it could ever come down to this -- the two of them sobbing on Harry’s bed while he told Louis that even though he loved Louis and Louis loved him, it still wasn’t enough. “You don’t know how much you mean to me, Harry,” Louis was finally able to say. “You’re the best -- best everything. You’re everything.”

“And you’re mine,” Harry said like it was a promise, barely able to speak himself.

Share or describe a favorite comment you received:

i don’t wanna copy and paste anything bc a lot of comments have spoilers, but all the lovely comments on yail are just so special to me. there are some who left long ones telling me how affected they were by the fic and that means everything. yail did get a ton of backlash in the beginning but i don’t even think of that anymore. the positive outweighs the negatives. 

A time when writing was really, really hard:

working on lpl was so difficult tbh. like every part i end, i take a 6 month long break before i pick that fic up again and idk why that is. like time is deff an issue but this is just ridic. i’m so frustrated at myself. i need the inspo for this fic to jUST STAY

A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:

i think that louis in yail was so important. i loved writing him how i wrote him. he was so personal to me and i think alot of ppl related to him in that fic. idk if he surprised me, but he’s the one that stands out the most.

How did you grow as a writer this year?:

i think i’ve become alot more organized in terms of outlining, which makes it easier to write. i also think the more you write, the better you get, so i’ve gotten better over time! 

How do you hope to grow next year?:

not sure...maybe finish more fics and write mroe frequently if possible?? 

Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

@realitybetterthanfiction had my back all throughout yail which was so nice of her. she was supportive, extremely detailed, and understanding. couldn’t have asked for a better beta! same goes for my other betas @stephloveslarry and elizabeth (who i can’t seem to tag????)

Anything from your own life show up in your writing this year:

as i said before, yail deff did. but everything i write has little bit of me or my friends or my life in it. 

Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:

ummm 

1) don’t start a fic with the characters waking up

2) don’t dump information and their life stories within the first few scenes

3) outline is so important

4) get a beta always

5) smut is cool but if it’s repetitive don’t write it

6) every story needs a conflict that needs to be overcome otherwise the characters don’t develop or grow

Louis XVI ! :O :O Tsar Nicholas II (even tho he’s only been dead for 99 years), Charlotte Corday!, Woodrow Wilson (BTW by “favourite” i’ve interpreted that as mOST inTeresting, i don’t necessarily think these historical figures were good people loL especially wilson ahhhh i just think his contribution in beginning wwii was super interesting, especially how wilsonian principles like self-determination influenced different nations, i think he wasnt a super great dude tho lol) hmmm, some more probs but i cannot recall at this time.
