The most prominent one that I get is public speaking skills. Your usual way of speaking might not get you enough attention when you are in front of a crowd or talking to a large audience, even online one. May be your voice is too soft or sounds quite young or bubbly, or you don't like to share too much about yourself, your opinions. It can make you seem more approachable, but in situations that you need to assert yourself, to be taken seriously, then it can become a disadvantage. And when you are in those situations, you might over compensate by being defensive or rigid, trying to assert yourself more than necessary.

You need to develop a firmer tone, and the words you say, your body language should also convey a sense of authority. But it's not a battle for power and domination, you just need to make yourself more visible, to make your energy more solid and grounded. This will help you in situations that require exchanging ideas in a large group, delivering your message to many people, rallying, persuading, teaching, or simply telling a story.

Research more about social skills in a group setting, observe the people that you feel are popular or well respected, observe their body language, their posture, their tones in different kinds of conversations, their choices of words, their silence, etc. This may sound mechanical but if you treat this skill just like math or painting, instead of thinking that social skill is something innate, you will see that with appropriate observations and enough practice, you can achieve a certain level of proficiency. This will open more opportunities for you and raise your confidence.

CLEAR QUARTZ

The stone of Pluto, South node and North node, all are "standing up", they are trying to make a statement (each side of the crystal is very narrow, it can fall over with just a gust of wind, I normally couldn't replicate the same position). The theme is about changing the old and embracing a new mindset. I think it has to do with how you take care of your appearance, your style.

Right now, you seem to be staying in the safe zone when it comes to styling yourself, making yourself more beautiful. This might be due to restrictions in early childhood, traditional values, what society deems appropriate or trendy. You might not want to focus too much on appearance because it seems superficial or vain, or takes too much of your time and energy.

But doing so will rope you the chance to express yourself more truthfully. Beautify yourself not because of how you will be perceived, but because it's a way to show love for yourself. You look into a mirror, you feel happy, you want to compliment yourself, you feel that silly stray strand of hair is adorable, not thinking about how will everyone say, how you are not like someone.

So the advice for you here is to be more adventurous in styling, expand your knowledge about fashion and styling, explore yourself more , give yourself the freedom to experiment more, to rebel more. Creating a unique image, a "public persona" is not just for some celebrities, everyone can benefit from that. Because behind that seemingly surface action, is the journey of discovering your deeper self. As within so without.

The theme of transformation is also applied to learning new languages. The languages should be totally different from your mother tongue, giving you more chance to connect with people from various parts of the world.

OBSIDIAN

The phrase "navigating the world" appeared in my mind. I got several meanings from this. One is in the literal sense as driving a vehicle, going around, navigating the roads, so learning to drive a new kind of vehicle might be the skill you should learn, or even learn to swim or row a boat. There are lots of movements, travelling and moving around. You should be more active in the physical sense. But this is not really about exercise or going to the gym, it's about moving your body, being in various places, experiencing different things. Your life in this period needs lots of expansion and movements. You might feel that you don't have enough resources or energy to go on trips, or you're simply someone who doesn't like travelling. But it will make your life stagnant. Travelling might not seem like a skill, but it is, all the planning, packing, preparation and the ability to adapt to the new place, all or these take skills.

Another one is navigating the complicated social construct. Maybe you feel it's hard to connect to people, there might be walls and the feeling of solitude and not fitting in, that there is something fundamentally different about you. The people that you managed to get closer to (it's likely that they approached you first) will stay close to you for a long time, you have no trouble maintaining a connection. The trouble lies in initiating or forming the connection. There might be an ego here that doesn't want to show their vulnerable side. Silly jokes and banters might seem childish to you. But learning to have fun in a social setting is much more rewarding than you think. Allow yourself to be a child, learn how to tell a story. Debating skills might also be worthwhile for you to learn, learn how to state your opinions clearly and defend your stance.

This group is strangely hard to read, I feel a certain resistance. You might feel that your personality isn't suitable for these kinds of things or you think it would take too much effort and work. You also don't want to imitate what other people are doing. Another reason might be that you haven't figured out what you like to do yet. But that's okay, everything takes time, trials and errors are normal, don't give up on the first try.

TIGER'S EYE

This one is an anti-consumerism movement. You might want to learn how to mend and sew clothes. And not just learn for yourself, but later will you spread the awareness to everyone, or even open workshops related to this.

Running after trends, constantly being bombarded by ads about shiny things that we don't actually need. Basic clothes with good quality cost too much while trendy ones don't last for more than a year. Maybe it's time for you to take matters in your own hands. Learning how to sew clothes might take time and effort, and sometimes, the cost is not small either. But you will be more free to explore styles that you like, create things that you're actually comfortable in. Not many people can proudly display their achievements like someone who makes their own clothes. This is also a great activity to relieve stress and help you practice being patient, especially if you're someone who is quick to get irritated or not very meticulous. It can soften your energy more and make it more focused.

Another way to practice is martial art or self-defense. You have lots of energy that needs to be channelled into various activities, those that keep your body busy.

You might also want to research more about the traditional spiritual and occult practices of your culture, or some traditional crafts in your family, learning about the legacy of our ancestors. There will be surprising knowledge hidden in them that you didn't notice before. You could feel resistant or disagree with many traditional teachings but don't disregard them completely. We can always learn something new from the old and the new always contain the old.

LABRADORITE

This is something that you feel out of your depth and uncomfortable doing, or something that you like but want to keep it a secret, for fear of judgement or obstruction.

I heard dancing and singing. But there's a feeling of gatekeeping. Some people consider these kinds of activities only for those who are gifted and have the resources to pursue them. These skills are put on a pedestal that stops people from approaching them in a more casual way.

Why should you learn these skills? It's to let your inner child be free and out into the open. It's also a way to learn how to control your body, discipline it so it can flow freely, it helps you connect more with your sensuality. Our body is an instrument of life, capable of many miracles, you won't know it unless you let it interact and move with the world around it.

There are various genres for you to explore, but I see traditional instruments or movements combined with modern ones.

Nurturing life such as gardening is another skill you should learn. It helps you be more in sync with nature, you will need to observe the natural cycle of life, to care for each individual and to form a bond with them. If you don't have the space or resources for gardening, maybe try to study more about nature, subjects about biology and chemistry, the ecosystem of forests, oceans, deserts etc. You will be more appreciative of the nature world.

CITRINE

Your energy right now seems to be rigid and doesn't flow properly. There's stress about your health, it's hard to relax, you don't feel comfortable in your body. Maybe you've been too busy lately, your mind is overloaded and your movement is restricted. So you need to learn something that can help you destress, loosen up the hard restrictions around you, and connect more with a softer, more gentle energy. You could call it your feminine energy, regardless of your gender. The feminine energy is within all of us, in your case, it's more hidden. Your loving, more nurturing side could be considered as weaknesses by the people around you. Or, on the contrary, those traits are expected of you forcefully, to the point that your own interpretation of them are buried deep within, you haven't had a chance to actually understand and connect with it.

I think meditation or any form of practice that can quiet the mind and put you in the flow will be good for you. Making art could be one form of it, yoga, intuitive dancing, Qigong, roller skating. Slow, mindful movements or wild, frantic ones just like a child running around, all the while maintaining your balance. You can temporarily forget about yourself, your worries, your responsibilities for a while with these kinds of activities.

Learning to play an instrument can also achieve the same kind of effects. A flute or a lyre.

You should be around children more, learn how to take care of them, how to teach them. Working, being with children can have a totally different energy and requires a different set of skills. I think you would make a great teacher because you have a very protective energy that children would feel safe around you. And in turn, they help you soften up and bring out your compassionate side more.

Our Magical Portal For 2025: 00° Aries

f you thought four chances to do Capricorn moon magic was good last year, I counter with this:

Counting the moon, a planet will pass over 00° Aries a whopping 25 times in 2025!

In the average year, a given degree in the horoscope may see three passes from the Sun, Moon, and Venus, who traverse the entire horoscope in a year, and ~12 passes by the moon. That's 15 touch points. Which still seems like a lot.

This year, the Sun moves through 00° Aries in March, Mercury and Venus retrograde over 00° Aries in February, and both Saturn and Neptune move into Aries before retrograding back into Pisces by the year's end. As well as 14 passes from the moon!

This is something that you can use (magically, of course).

00° Aries

00° Aries is arguably the most significant degree for one straightforward reason: it is the first degree of the horoscope wheel. Astrologically, the year begins at 00° Aries with our Spring Solstice and ends at 29° Pisces. 00° Aries carries all of the potential of springtime.

It is worth remembering that astrology is a study of seasons and the constant, repetitive changes of the year. Every spring is a new chance to grow and evolve like the plants that erupt from their slumber under the ground, but it is also an ending.

From a metaphorical standpoint, 29° Pisces represents the complete desolvation of the self that comes with death, and 00° Aries represents the moment of birth/the first breath/ego consciousness.

This will be especially important this year because the planets that move across 00° Aries will do so in forward and backward motion.

In forward motion, a planet entering 00° Aries indicates a new beginning, a new leaf, a new idea, and a new project.

In retrograde motion, a planet moving through 00° Aries indicates needing to backpedal or having to step a few steps backward. We may need to review, refine, and reassess.

We will experience twenty-one passes of 00° Aries in forward motion and four passes in backward motion, indicating that we are mainly in the birthing phases, but there will be some setbacks.

The Magic

Do you want to start something new? Are you willing to work for it - putting one foot in front of the other - every single day (or as often as you can) - until you accomplish your goals?

Then 00° Aries is the right degree for you.

I have written about the power of Number 1 for starting new things; this is degree #1 of sign #1.* Anything that you want to start can be augmented by 1 energy. Use sequences of ones in your magic: burn one candle with one herb and one oil (combined, three for manifestation). Alternatively, make a spell pouch with one petition paper, one crystal, and one herb (again, combine to create 3 for manifestation).

Aries is an active (cardinal) fire sign, so I would strongly suggest working with fire in some capacity if you can. If you genuinely cannot, bring in other Aries correspondences (listed below).

I will not tell you what spell to cast; that is up to you and your goals for your own life. I can tell you that casting a spell and then repetitively working this spell as the planets move over 00° this spring (and beyond) may yield incredible results and that I would never turn down an opportunity like this, especially since you get 25 chances to get it right.

Where does 00° Aries fall in your natal birth chart? What house is it in? Does it make any significant aspects to any of your personal planets or luminaries? Does it aspect your Ascendant, Descendant, or 10th house? Does it make an aspect to Jupiter, Saturn, or your lunar nodes? I wouldn't include the outer three planets (Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto) unless they sit exactly at 00° Aries or Libra, which might still be significant. This information may help you to understand how to craft your spell (or ritual, silly words, this is energy - I'm literally trying not to tell you how to use it) or WHEN to cast it.

*I understand that this might be confusing because it is degree "00" and not 1 because astrology is based around geometry, so there must be a 0 degree to indicate a conjunction

I've included our two solar eclipses on this list because March's conjuncts this point (and Mercury at 00° Aries on that day), and September's tightly opposes it (within one degree). Both days can amplify eclipse magic of all kinds (another layer to this puzzle), but many people prefer to avoid doing magic during an eclipse due to its unpredictability. In reference to that, our March solar eclipse is a new/new energy eclipse, while our September eclipse is a new-old energy eclipse.

Cast a spell on the eclipsed Aries new moon that will culminate with the Aries full moon 10/08

I was having thoughts about the Black Moon Clan for ReStart and it ended up in me redesigning them all, so. yeah lmao. Some info below!

I think the biggest change is that the Black Moon Clan doesn't originate from the future - they're all people from Usagi's present time, who managed to travel in time thanks to Death Phantom's powers. He promised them all greatness, fame, money or a combination of each, feeding them lies to keep them under his control. Their earrings give them their powers.

The Four Apparition Sisters are, from youngest to oldest, Kermesite/Kaon, Berthierite/Emika, Calaverite/Kurara and Petzite/Teru. All 4 struggling with making ends meet and sticking together, Wiseman promised them money and stay in exchange for their services, and mostly do his bidding out of obligation. The Inners fight them, but later manage to help them break free from Wiseman's control and return to a normal life. (Their villain names are lifted from the Latin Spanish dub, which simply used the real name of the corresponding gemstone.)

Rubeus/Ryoga and Esmeraude/Elise came under Wiseman for the simple promise of money and fame respectively, but aren't truly into his cause as much as they are into their own goals. Both are in charge of distributing the Droids to the Sisters, before moving to commanding them themselves. Both manage to escape Wiseman and survive, through different means - Esmeraude takes refuge with the Sisters and gets helped by the Senshi, while Rubeus fakes his death, using a Droid copy of him, and simply goes into hiding.

Demande/Daiya and Saphir/Souji are still brothers, orphans, who Wiseman adopted and raised as his own, feeding them lies about being the legitimate heirs of the ancient kingdom of Nemesis, giving them his power. Saphir was always sceptical but accepted the roof over his head and the food on the table, Demande clung to the idea of being important and powerful until the bitter end. Both unfortunately die as pawns of Satoharu, Saphir as he tried to rebel against him and Demande at the hands of Usagi, because. he's still Demande. Saphir is in charge of creating the Droids.

Amatsu Satoharu is the reeincarnation of Sailor Nemesis, heredating her powers but only some of her memories. He managed to summon his Sailor Crystal (the Reflection Crystal), and used his powers initially just for stuff like petty theft and mayhem, before moving into serial killing, using the name of Death Phantom. He managed to escape and live a hidden life, until he started to get dreams, foretelling his death at the hands of a Sailor Senshi under the protection of the Sun and the Moon. He managed to then find people he could promise power in exchange for their service, and started his plan to kill the problem at the source: Tsubasa.

She was smarter than he thought, however, and escaped to the past thanks to Pluto's intervention. He still managed to deliver a strong enough blow to both Usagi and Mamoru, before retreating into the past as well, launching his attack. He is, of course, killed by the present-day Senshi plus Tsubasa/Eclipse, which sends his Sailor Crystal back to the Cauldron for Lia to then be born some years later.

I had originally intended to make this post on Percy's birthday for some well-intended chaos, because why not? But I had a bit of a health crisis since then, and I had no time nor strength to do anything, so here's this now. I have seen so many strongest demigod tier lists, and half of them I find to be somewhat inaccurate, so here's mine:

(Before the Piper stans roll in, Reyna worked for Circe for a good long while before she and her sister fled after the pirate attack so there's a good chance she knows how to resist charmspeak which is something alike Circe's enchantments.

Now Annabeth's a good contender to fight Reyna, but I am basing this on higher feats. Reyna fought and defeated Orion and was probably involved in overthrowing Krios while the only powerful being Annabeth has gone toe to toe with is Kronos inhabiting Luke's body and she does manage to corner Annabeth in Mark of Athena and Annabeth herself says she is unsure if she could win against Reyna, [it's super close though])

Returned Athena Parthenos, the Bane of the Giants

Could easily go toe to toe with Annabeth who has far more training and combat experience than her.

The only Roman demigod to recieve Athena's blessing

10. LEO VALDEZ/PIPER MCLEAN

Honestly I can't decide between this. I am going to need you all to decide this one.

Most of Leo's feats are constructing or repairing things. Festus, Argo 2, Archimedies circle, convincing Apollo, and so on.

Piper's feats are all based on her charmspeak and nothing else. Khione, Medea, and even putting Gaea to sleep (because she was already sleepy and in mid-air cut off from her domain for long enough). The plan was Leo's, but the execution mostly depended on Piper, so it's a tie, I think, but let me know your opinions.

Feel free to share your honest opinions; though, mostly, let's agree to disagree on the Top 5. I can welcome debate over 6-10. But I think the Top 5 are mostly factually canonically accurate.

How is it Created: Obsidian is a black volcanic glass, formed when molten lava hits cold water or air and solidifies. It is composed of silicon dioxide (quartz) and many impurities which allows it to take different shapes and colors. Black obsidian gets it coloring from iron and magnesium.

History: The earliest obsidian tools can be dated back to the Oldowan, at the dawn of the Paleolithic/Stone Age (2.6 million- 10,000 BCE). Different origins of this rock can be found in Britain, Italy, Mexico, and the USA. In Egypt, obsidian knives were used in ceremonial circumcisions, as well as making mirrors (scrying mirrors for most) and other decorations in tombs. The word “Obsidian” was first used by a Roman explorer, Obsius, who “discovered” it in Ethiopia. In the Americas, Obsidian was used as a symbol of Tezcatlipoca, the chief god of the Aztec religion. Tezcatlipoca means “smoking mirror” which is why a lot of the Mayan priest used the glass rock for scrying mirrors like the Egyptians did. On the Eastern Islands, obsidian was used to make the eyes of the Moai statues before they were lost. The indigenous tribes of North America used pieces of obsidian to make arrowheads, spears and even knives by using an antler in order to carefully form different shapes.

What It Can Do:

How to Charge:

Sit with the stone in the palm of your hand and enter a light meditation. Use your thoughts to charge the stones with desires of protection and make sure the thoughts are clear and concise.

Use high vibration to amplify the crystal

Use a singing bowl to send sound energy into it

Place it in a bed of Himalayan salt and let it sit for 48 hours

If you work with a sun or moon deity, I have noticed charging it in the sun or moonlight with the idea of protection helps to charge it as well

How to Cleanse:

Run under water (not hot just lukewarm) for a minute

Create a saltwater solution and submerge it for up to 24 hours

Burn herbs or incense over the obsidian with the intention of cleansing (I personally use sandalwood incense for this)

Leave your stone under the full moon to cleanse and retrieve in the morning

Bury your obsidian in your garden for 48 hours

How to Get the Best Out of It:

Wear a black obsidian bracelet. The wrist area is a highly energetic zone because it has nearly direct access to the bloodstream. This (in my opinion) is the best place to have obsidian to create a powerful shield and help with manifestation.

For lighter dosage, use an obsidian ring.

So I've been making my way through Sailor Moon: Crystal and I'm in S2 (Black Moon arc) and I have a hot take on why Chibiusa was so unpopular back in the day because--I'm sorry to say because I came into this arc sympathetic towards her-- I kinda get the hate now more than I expected to.

That said, I'm less interested in disliking a fictional pink-haired child character than I am in understanding why the writing, which I think intended for us to like her, might have missed the mark.

Where Chibiusa's introduction went wrong:

Chibiusa is introduced as disliking Usagi, our protagonist, instantly. Thing is, we just came off a whole arc of meeting Usagi and learning to love her character as she grows and matures and goes on to save the day with her loved ones in S1.

Coming off of that and immediately meeting a "non villain" like Chibiusa (it's meant to be ambiguous) who hates Usagi's guts puts us in a similar place to Usagi in starting with a bad first impression of Chibiusa.

This bad first impression is likely intentional, I think we're supposed to mirror Usagi's journey towards learning to like Chibiusa over time.

However, I'm not sure it worked as intended. At least for me, by the time Chibiusa becomes Black Lady, Sailor Moon loves Chibiusa and wants to save and redeem her, but to me that seemed like Sailor Moon being a saint because I could understand a version where everyone is sort of sick of Chibiusa's shit by then (what with her leading to Pluto's apparent death at that point in order to save the universe from Chibiusa's fuck up in stealing the Silver Crystal and bringing it back in time in the first place, among numerous other annoyances and outright crimes towards people who love her).

So why is Chibiusa so unpalatable, from a writing mechanics perspective?

The thing is, I think we see a lot of guilt and regret from Chibiusa for her actions (since she from her perspective traumatically but definitely inadvertently led to the collapse of her mother's kingdom by stealing the Silver Crystal in a desperate bid to finally grow up, gain powers, etc after literal centuries trapped as a powerless little girl in what is actually truly a fridge-horror packed existence).

HOWEVER, guilt and regret are passive, they're not actually actions in their own right.

So we see Chibiusa have a lot of guilt and regret for the bad things she's done, which had horrible unintended consequences, and those are laudable reactions to what she's done.

But Chibiusa never takes any praiseworthy or good guy action up to the point of turning into Black Lady.

Chibiusa feels regret, sure, and fear and shame, but she never does anything good with those emotions. She just feels them in between action beats so we know deep down she's not a bad person.

In contrast, all of Chibiusa's actions make the situation worse, pretty much every time.

She threatens Usagi with a gun when they first meet, and constantly taunts her even while seeking her help.

Chibiusa steals the Silver Crystal despite being repeatedly warned that it's a dangerous item to tamper with.

She steals a key from Sailor Pluto, truly screwing Pluto over even though Pluto broke the rules just to extend a hand in friendship to Chibiusa.

Chibiusa also runs off numerous times, requiring Usagi, Mamoru and the others to stop what they're doing to track her down and help her.

One time, running off like that leads her to getting kidnapped by Wiseman, so while the kidnapping isn't her fault, this action directly leads to the situation where Sailor Pluto has to break her final taboo and die in order to stop the universe itself from being destroyed.

Then, as Black Lady (an admittedly altered form of Chibiusa that is outside her control) she does some pretty icky stuff like kissing her future dad on the lips.

On the one hand, it is a form altered by Wiseman so it's kind of not her fault, but, on the other, Black Lady's actions are sort of presented as what Chibiusa wishes she could do, what she would do if she had the power, and what she does as Black Lady is some pretty messed up stuff.

I was sort of understanding of Chibiusa just having the childish instinct to want her dad to herself, platonically, and using evil magic powers to get him, but then the incest overtones took "using her power to have her dad all to herself" from "Bad, but sort of understandable in a childish way" to full on "Ick."

TL;DR Chibiusa only shows good guy qualities while being passive, ie through demonstrating regret and fear and the trauma that led her to making the mistakes she makes in between action beats of the story.

However, whenever Chibiusa takes action as a character throughout the arc, she only seems to make the situation worse for everyone, including people (like Pluto and Mamoru) who have stuck their neck out for her and risked themselves to be her friend and look out for her. This is the sort of stuff that tends to make people dislike a person and/or a fictional character.

Some Additional Writerly Analysis:

As a writer, I find Chibiusa being unlikable particularly interesting, because I do think the show wants us to come 'round to Chibiusa by the end, at the same pace as Usagi, but even when I was sympathetic to her I found her rather hard to like so, to me at least, it seems like the story missed the mark in some places on achieving this and I was curious to analyze how and why this is.

Just being a klutz or making mistakes doesn't warrant the vitriol Chibiusa received. After all, Usagi's whole thing is that no one suspects she could be the Moon Princess at first because she's so imperfect and she messes up all the time. So just being ineffective doesn't seem like enough to warrant more hatred towards Chibiusa than Usagi ever got.

Likewise, being a passive character tends to make audiences annoyed, but the Sailor Moon Manga/Crystal tends to actually be pretty good at not making its female characters passive. Chibiusa is active but, as stated above, her actions tend to lead to the situation getting worse for everyone, while only in passive moments when she frets and cries and reflects on her past traumas do we see her "good" side.

So Chibiusa kinda gets the worst of both worlds, she screws over our favorite characters when she's active - audiences tend to prefer active characters, but not if they're actively doing things we don't like - and passive while showing qualities we might like - audiences tend to hate passive characters so we only see her being a good person when she's sitting around crying and not doing anything to really make up for her mistakes in a material way.

Yes, overall she's trying to fix her original mistake and takes action to do so, like by going back in time in the first place to get Sailor Moon to help save the day, but then when interacting with Sailor Moon Chibiusa's constantly antagonistic towards Usagi, who we presumably like if we're still watching the show, which seems to run counter to Chibiusa's own stated goals.

Being imperfect at enacting her goals, like antagonizing the person she wants help from, is sort of understandable, from the perspective that Chibiusa is a traumatized kid with a lot going on so she's not always acting rationally...

...Or is she just a traumatized kid? Because then we learn Chibiusa's supposed to be 900 years old at this point? The text is a bit self-contradictory on how much maturity we should expect from Chibiusa. Should we expect the maturity of a 900 year old being, or the immaturity of a child, or some mix where she's a 900 year old being trapped with the mind and body of a child in a truly nightmarish existence?

Then again, speaking of maturity, once Chibiusa does finally, physically grow out of being a child, she then uses her newfound adulthood to romantically kiss her own father (and, arguably, sexually assault him because it's not like he can consent there, nor would he if he could) which again is an example of her being passive when she regrets, but active when she makes more mistakes and does more unlikable things.

And to lovers of Chibiusa's character, I get it! She's had it really, really rough, her life is on paper actually kind of a nightmare. Her actions are all understandable.

I'm just trying to analyze why her actions and by extension her character become so unlikable that even as a grown-ass adult coming into the show pretty sympathetic towards Chibiusa because I remember all the hate she got, I was sort of taken aback by how unlikable a lot of her actions actually were.

Overall, I think the narrative was trying to create an antagonist that wasn't a villain, someone who makes the story harder for the protagonists but who overall we want to be saved not stopped. I just think that the narrative might have gone a bit too far in setting up Chibiusa as an antagonist to Usagi, and didn't do enough to show Chibiusa having effective heroic moments, only effective antagonist moments, such that it became very hard to pull her back from antagonist to protagonist at least at the point where she becomes Black Lady and we're supposed to want to see her redeemed.

I love winx club, but you wanna know what I love more—Sailor Moon. So I just want to take a moment and defend my girl chibiusa here😤 i feel like i see a lot of opinions about her, and want to be that “actually in the manga 🤓” nerd for a second. The 90s anime adaptation of Sailor Moon took some liberties and changed a lot, even if things didn’t necessarily make sense by today’s standards (ESPECIALLY if you watched the dub 💀) , but back to Sailor Chibi moon, is she annoying at times? Yes, she’s portrayed as a literal CHILD. Who else is a child in the timeline? Her mom Usagi/Sailor Moon. But NO ONE seems pressed about her bad behavior or poor choices she makes.

In the future, Chibiusa is the sole heiress, only child, of the Silver Millennium. But for some reason she doesn’t physically or mentally age for 900 years— she’s literally incapable n and no one knows how or why. Given who she is, everyone assumes something is wrong with her and she ends up ridiculed and severely isolated. So much so she’s basically goaded into stealing the legendary silver crystal. Upon taking it her home is literally destroyed and her mom is like encased in crystal.

So her being a child thinks to go back to the past to get sailor Moon to help save her parent and kingdom. She’s alone and terrified. It’s not just “oh boo she fell and her parents didn’t help her up” there’s more to it!

Black lady (a grown up version of chibiusa) is mentally and temperamentally altered by wiseman! And here come people blaming her— a literal child — for not being able to fight off the effects of the villain of this arc??? Agree to disagree with me, but Black lady is NOT a reflection of who chibiusa is as a character and should not be compared to her. She was hypnotized and brainwashed into thinking EVERYTHING and EVERYONE hates her and she needs to show them and kill them.

Now the scene where she falls and her parents tell her to get up on her own— also an altered memory! Wiseman altered it so that it would appear her parents despise her when it didn’t happen that way! It’s not her fault. Hell when she goes back to the palace as Black lady her parents to not acknowledge her as chibiusa and comprehend that their daughter has been fundamentally changed by a means of hypnosis.

I’m also gonna say it: a lot of people don’t understand the arc itself. Chibiusa a WHOLE arc is about GROWTH. Now unlike the anime that utilized her parents to get her out of the brainwashing, the manga uses Sailor Plutos DEATh. Her only friend DIED.

Now the weird tuxedo mask black lady kiss thing was already GROSS, but once again Black Lady is NOT equivalent to chibiusa. She , as Black Lady, was rubbing her power in sailor moon’s face, not sexually kissing him.

There is so much more I could stay on this, but all I gotta say is, if you haven’t seen the manga from the 90s, I heavily recommend that you do because it is so much different and provides a new perspective on what is happening.

Cats of the Sun

The SunClans are four clans making up the whole that is SunClan, each clan fulfilling a different role in serving SunClan.

DawnClan

DawnClan are the healers. While every clan has its medicine cat, they are trained and evaluated in DawnClan, with the DawnClan medicine cats being the most respected and skilled of all medicine cats.

DawnClan does have its warriors still, though they know more basic healing than the warriors of all other clans. They live by the sea, which provides them with an abundance of food, and the cats of DawnClan are known as laid-back and trustworthy. Though, less favorable cats of other clans think of DawnClan as lazy and unwilling to do the "hard work" of clan life.

DayClan

DayClan are the peacekeepers. They are opposed to fighting, and instead do everything in their power to end conflict bloodlessly. DayClan trains and holds the best mediators, and are the most welcoming to outsiders.

DayClan, like all clans, has its warriors, some very skilled, but they prefer to keep their claws sheathed whenever they can. They live in the plains, enjoying its warmth and peace, which is fitting for how many cats would choose to describe DayClan. This does have the downside of many cats thinking of DayClan as weak, and sometimes even a danger to SunClan's way of life due to their willingness to take in outsiders.

DuskClan

DuskClan are the protectors. They defend the clans from outside threats, enforce the warrior code, and punish those who have committed crimes against the clans.

Their warriors are incredibly skilled and disciplined, believing themselves to be the strength of SunClan. Their forest home gives them a mastery of climbing and stealth, you can never truly know when a DuskClan cat is watching you. DuskClan cats are known for being fiercely loyal and always reliable, but some think they take advantage of their reputation, and their "protection" can border on the cruel.

NightClan

NightClan are the guardians of StarClan. They live amongst the spirits of their ancestors and pass on the history and stories of times long since passed.

Their warriors are wise and calm, some thinking of their roles less as warriors and more as walking stories. NightClan lives in the caves deep within the mountains, among towering crystals, said to be windows into StarClan. NightClan's camp sits just outside what SunClan calls the Path, a long path of sharp crystals leading to one perfect, tall, smooth crystal. When a new leader is made, they must "Walk the Path" walk on the shards, and lay before the crystal at the end of the path without getting cut, for if they bleed, it is a sign of StarClan's rejection. NightClan warriors are valued for their knowledge and spirituality, but many think of them as strange, and would not choose their company out of the other clans.

Story Idea: has anyone ever tried retelling SM without including ChibiUsa/Small Lady?

Like, has anyone tried? Any recs? They well written? Make sense? Complete? If not, how long since it was updated? Where can it be found?

I ask because the narrative of SM's canon kinda relies on her after a certain point until another certain point and I'm wondering if anyone's tried to write her out, either because they don't like her or her attitude ( <- I mean the 90's anime specifically, of which I'm a club member and have been since her debut) or because they just wanted to see if it was feasible.

'Cause I believe it is. "How?" one might ask. "Keep reading to find out." I'd reply.

See, once the Makaiju Arc is done, all that really needs to happen is that Rei gets a premonition while meditating before the Sacred Fire or Ami's palmtop registers an anomaly for them to check out if Usa herself hasn't already stumbled upon the first attempt to conquer a Crystal Point. Meanwhile, being injured, practically comatose due to the embedded Black Crystal acting similarly to the DMC's webs and scared for his family with no evacuated daughter for him to 'lock-on' to his past self it's hard for Kendy to send anything remotely coherent to Mamo's dreams, because instead of being a test they're meant to be warnings that Mamo misinterprets as premonitions because, while Kendy once was Mamo he isn't any more what with having a loving girlfriend-since-turned-wife-and-partner/Queen and loving sisters-from-other-misters as his support (his Shitennou too but only if they've been revived) and for so much longer, the King's forgotten how he used to be when still a Prince. As such, Mamo keeps his nightmares a secret and promptly breaks up with the love of his lives thinking he's protecting her when... he's really not.

Of course, the girls work together to find out WTF's going on since Kendy can't send the warning to his past-wife. Instead, Minako keeps Usa's hope alive by telling her he lied, their Bond is platinum; Mako tries to get him to open up by attempting to bond over their orphaned status and how much better their lives are since Usa came into them; Ami is the one to notice the strange readings Kendy is causing around Mamo, and Rei's the one who's able to interpret the visions as warnings about the BMC once Mamo's finally been 'broken down' by Usa and the love between them. Usa's still kidnapped by Diamond but it's Pluto who guides them to the future, giving them relevant info while warning to not meet with their future selves or go looking for unnecessary info, to rescue her. Once arrived, TK collapses because the King's unknowingly interfering with him now that they're in the same Time and they need to wake him just enough to get him to stop; TK is obviously left near NQS while the girls go do that. Once done, a plan to get SM out is made. That is, the Senshi will cause mayhem and distraction for the BMC members present while TK breaks in to bring back their Princess. They defeat Death Phantom through Kendy and NQS lending their spiritual strength and experience to their past counterparts, while TK and Senshi support her 'physically', thus keeping Moon's use of the Ginzuishou from killing her.

The Promise of the Rose can happen as it does, but it's Usa who motivates herself to get her man back. The girls, of course, support her decision because they care for him too.

For S, it could be that it's Usa who makes friends with poor Hotaru rather than the angst that is Chibi wanting to prove herself her mother's daughter; as though her father, through whom she inherits her Throne (if not her powers) and connects to her would-be Husband, don't frickin' matter! Which, what?! Like, one could have it that it's initially through Ami that they meet, her Mother being a medical Dr compared to the Prof being a scientist Dr or maybe a program for Genii to help with socialization or even Mamo being the one to find her collapsed through his King-induced burgeoning Psychometry and unknowingly uses some of his healing energy on her, but it's Usa who's able to get close and actually help her open up and maybe even find a reason/the energy to fight against Mistress9 more than canon 'cause her unknown bond as a Senshi with her just as oblivious Princess has given her more energy than she once had. Instead of Chibi's Pure Heart being stolen, it's the stolen Holy Grail that finally gives Mistress9 the boost to overtake Hotaru. It's Mamo's use of his Psychometry that reaches Hotaru's sleeping consciousness, and Usa's bond with him reaching through him that awakens Saturn, but Usa couldn't care less for the power Saturn has. She just wants to rescue her new friend and so she does; the fact she's also a Senshi is just a bonus, it means neither she nor her friends have to distance themselves to keep her safe from future enemies, once they're able to help her regulate her power. Hell, it could go that Usa uses the Ginzuishou to do just that; put a valve on her that disappears when she achieves complete control or in dire emergencies beforehand. The other Outers obviously stick around to also help; even becoming her Guardians in the event her father can't look after her.

Hearts in Ice's conclusion can happen as it does by way Mamo taking Chibi's place in the Planet Attack. Can you imagine? There SM is, acting as a conduit of all these different powers coming together to use to save the world surrounded by all these glowing women with a single glowing man in the mix?

For SuperS, obviously without his Maiden in the picture Helios finds refuge in the dreams of his Liege, right? So, how does that fit the given canon, what with poor Pegasus being treated like TK in the 1st season for some reason, Mamo been attacked by Fish-Eye the episode before Usa and the whole 'becoming bed-bound because of the DMC's webs and Chibi being exposed as having Pegasus and subsequently kidnapped during the Finale' to name a few? Easy. Having learned his lesson from R, he actually tells Usa what he can about what's going on who promptly tells the girls so that they can all work together to keep him, and thus Helios, safe while doing their best to also help the people who're otherwise targeted, maybe even make plans to make themselves red herrings. Thus, various types of bonding can ensue because it would be weird, not to mention suspicious, for him to be surrounded by various-aged women all the time. ((Usa's role is obvious; Ami's his medical study-buddy; Haruka with their love of their cars/motorcycles; Hotaru with their healing abilities; Mako and Setsuna as orphans, being isolated for so long and/or cooking-buddies; Mina and Michiru could be the playful ones wanting to Troll Usa by using him as their beard for certain functions or really getting the people going by taking up each amused but exasperated arm; Rei with his Psychometry and meditation are just a few examples. I can think of all sorts of other combinations to get them all bonding for various in-character reasons)) Hell, with Helios in his dreams to teach him what he should know as the Golden Crystal's true wielder, Mamo might even be able to revive the Shittennou as they should've been so that he doesn't have to be guarded by the Senshi 24/7, as much as he loves each one in their own right, and he can have guy friends (sorry Motoki) he doesn't need to keep secrets from. And because they're revived, Mamo isn't bed-bound near the Finale because the guys take their fair share of 'sickness' caused by Earth's plight. Feeling only a fifth of the burden from canon leaves him the ability to help confront the woman who's taken Elysian's Head Priest and rescue the poor soul from his imprisonment. As for SM's transformation into Eternal, it's Mamo who takes Chibi's place with giving some of his power to her to power up to Eternal and I'd say that Helios and the Shitennou are the ones who bears the brunt of Mamo's kidnapping rather than Chibi. Helios is the one who gets sick to the point of death and the guys start acting like the puppets they once were, even as they try their best to fight the possession off, under Metallia's control; the Inners' worst nightmare come to life. Either that or Nehelania's last bit before taking off with Mamo through the mirror causes the Shitennou to split in two, where one set, significantly weakened, falls unconscious and the other acts like the puppets of Metallia to harrow the girls. But, as explained by the dying Helios, to destroy one half of the set would destroy the other and they'd stay dead this time, their SoulStones turned to stardust, never to reincarnate again.

Black Dream Hole could feature Hotaru rather than Chibi. There could be a giant sleep-over when Hotaru is 'called' and it's due to Luna and/or Artemis, 'cause she accidentally stepped on a tail on her way out, that they're able to follow after her. And when she's nabbed and taken anyway? Can you not imagine it? The rage and worry and whatnot of not only Moon, one could technically call her Hotaru's new mother if one thinks about it a bit sideways, but the other Outers coughUranus-especiallycough about their youngest being taken?

With Stars, Mamo's Starseed is taken, but the reason no one, not Usa or the Shitennou specifically as Bonded a hella lot more intimately if differently to him, suspects anything's wrong (if one doesn't go with the Reboot's version of events, that is) is because a stolen Starseed doesn't cause True Death, just disembodiment; though actually watching it happen can feel like they'd watched someone die. It would take a few years before a Starseed holder starts losing their Sense of Self, and even longer if they have Bonds with other Starseed holders. It is only once the said Sense of Self is lost that a Starseed holder can be considered truly Dead. Said Starseed having to be released to be reborn to gain a new Sense of Self; and even then what pre-incarnations it might have had are gone forever. Never to be remembered. All that aside! With the Shitennou also there, I'm thinking that Usa would have a little bit more of an easier time with Mamo's trip to America because he charged them with looking after her and they take that seriously by making it a point to try bonding with her as her Senshi had their Prince before they came back. And because the girls and TK never saw more than a bit of the destroyed CT, injured Kendy and crystal-entombed NQS, various BMC members, droids and Wiseman/Death Phantom, (never seeing how many Senshi were active or whether the Shitennou had been revived or any/how many possible family-to-be for anyone while in the future) not to mention how Pluto told them the future wasn't set in stone and that just seeing what they had might change their own into something new, that the strange sense of the other Senshi sounding a bit accusatory with Usa about Mamo regarding Seiya as the season went on might not be a Thing because the Shitennou wouldn't just take that lying down. She's always being escorted by one of them for one reason or another, even taken on 'dates' so that they can ask for advise and tips (as one would ask a sibling for ideas of how to win their crush over if not their interest to see where a relationship might go) regarding their own Lady Senshi as the only one who knows them so well in this life. Hell, they might even try to help her with getting the info the Starlights have, that Seiya would give her if given the chance, if only to be forewarned and thus fore-armed. Because they'd be more concerned on why these Senshi and their evacuated Princess from another solar system might be here rather than that they're present on their planet in the first place.

TL;DR - With some imagination and logic regarding canon and the characters, one can rewrite SM without having to include a certain pink haired, red-eyed little girl from the future. The most likely reason a good portion of people aren't all that gung-ho about UsaMamo, the illusion of having 'no choice' if they want to see her and the oh-so peaceful future she came from. I repeat, the most likely reason, not the only one, because there are others people have but I'm not gonna get into those.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love the sense of female empowerment SM is meant to invoke but I've always hated that Mamo, despite being meant as the ML, is one way or another sidelined as either a damsel, 'throw a rose, make a speech, then leave' type of "useless", have practically (not absolutely no but practically) no connections to the other Senshi or able to be written out and not be missed because he could be considered an outsider to the Senshi groups, his own daughter-to-be included. He was meant to have a more crucial role as support as evidenced by the creator's manga, but the 90s anime did him dirty instead. I think with all that ↑ I've proven that the little pink spore wasn't all that necessary to SM's plot. Do you agree or not?

Also! Just so people know, I'm aware of similar but not quite exactly the type of 'limited' written fics such as "R is for Reverse" by Daikon and the "Dreams" series by Kasienda; both found on Ao3. - The basement is partially cleared out to prepare for Lydia’s dark room in the basement! And also a special Other Thing.

- “… new rugs to replace the ones he bled all over.” - Yes, Beetlejuice managed to ruin two rugs with his blood. That sucks.

- “His right eye’s vision was still fuzzy. (Perhaps it wouldn’t ever fully come back, like his hearing.)” - Yes, unfortunately it is permanent. He’s hard of hearing on one side, visually impaired on the other. Poor buddy.

- “Thankfully, his teeth had grown back quickly. They were always one of the first parts of him to regenerate anyways. (Much quicker than his organs, that one night. Or his legs. The memory still made him shudder.)” - Yikes, I wonder what or who this is referring to!

- “.. friendly neighborhood reformed demon.” - Yeah, a silly little Spider-Man reference for brevity.

- “(He found he still had no idea how to tie a tie. Thank God/Satan whoever had washed his suit had left it tied.)” - This is sort of a callout on myself. My friend tied my Beetlejuice suit’s tie for me once, and I’ve just left it tied since I can’t tie a tie for the life of me.

- Black onyx - apparently, black onyx represents strength, and is one of the most powerful crystals! At least, according to my friend.

- Lydia dying her hair - Lyds is a natural blonde! She dyes her hair black for Reasons.

- “Can’t keep a good… not-guy down!” - This is both a reference to “Child’s Play” and another fun non-binary joke.

- Adam’s tapping - I and a handful of other neurodivergent people I know do this, gentle tapping to signal we want affection. I have been told it is endearing.

- “I’M SO NORMAL-” - This is something I like to proclaim when I am being Not Normal. Like how Beetlejuice is being Not Normal.

- “He couldn’t tell what either of them were thinking, their expressions were new. It was certainly frustrating.” - Hm! I wonder what expressions Beetlejuice has never seen before on another being.

- The Freeze, Brimstone Flu, Red Moss - these are all demon diseases/illnesses that I made up. They will probably only make minor, silly appearances.

- “(Beetlejuice had to seriously fight the urge to bite her arm.)” - Beej has the urge to out of affection, but holds back due to his sharp teeth and it generally not being socially acceptable.

- “Dial up that smile.” - This is a reference to my other current hyperfixation, “Late Night with the Devil”.

- “Beetlejuice exited the guest bedroom to find Lydia waiting for him just outside, repeatedly kissing Pluto’s forehead as the cat laid contentedly in her arms. She let out a little ‘GAH’ as the door opened, standing up straight.” - CAUGHT BEING SOFT IN 4K

- Lydia, sorting - one of her favorite activities is sorting, as you may have noticed. Sometimes she un-sorts her belongings so she can re-sort them when she is stressed out.

- Lydia, biting - she also bites out of affection/when she is excited. She does not care if it is socially acceptable when she is around Beetlejuice.

- “The teen eagerly motioned for Barbara to come closer, holding up an old, yellowed version of The Wheel of Fortune.” - I wonder if this particular card means anything?

- “Some of them are hand-painted!” - Thank you to the movie “Tarot” for informing me of hand-painted Tarot cards. Also fuck you, because they’re expensive.

- “Some of the decks are incomplete.” .. “That’s what happens when you got a lotta things for a lotta years. Some of it just… goes missin’.”- What a suspicious answer from Beetlejuice. I wonder what he did with those cards?

- “I know you didn’t mean it, but that was rude, Beetlejuice.” … “Wh-rude? It was?” - this is an experience I and a lot of other fellow autistics experience. We have to be informed when we’ve been rude because we truly did not mean to be!

- “… they sat next to each other in silence while they separately sorted through various piles of moss and rocks they’d collected on previous outings in the woods.” - one of the ways these two often hang out is parallel play. I love you parallel play…

- “Lydia forced Beetlejuice to do some strange dance in front of her phone with her. They only understood half of the words she said while explaining it, but it certainly made her happy.” - Yes, Lydia made Beetlejuice do a tiktok dance because it is funny. I don’t know any of them so I can’t give you a specific, so you can imagine the funniest one here.

- “Already, his mouth was watering at the smells of soy sauce and chives wafting out from the kitchen.” - mouth watering is not always a good thing. Sometimes it means a vom is imminent.

- The Great Gatsby - beetlejuice is not stupid (sometimes), he just takes longer to process some things! This is honestly the first time someone has recognized this within him, and he has yet to fully process that. Also I love The Great Gatsby. There are Jay and BJ parallels that only make sense to me.

- Freaky - I LOVE THIS MOVIE. I watched it with my father and it was quite amusing, so I thought it would be funny to have Lydia experience watching this film with a few of her parents.

- Adam and Barbara conspired to have Beetlejuice have his Talk with Charles, by the way. They also, obviously, conspired to cuddle up with him.

- “I’ll be right back,” … “Beetlejuice, that’s violating rule number three!” - Yeah, this is a “Scream” reference. No I am not sorry. Yes it will happen again maybe.

- “Oh no. … Oh no, not now. … Please, not now. … But, of course, some sort of ridiculous “Feeling” had to come along.” - These are pulled from one of the pivotal songs on Time’s Arrow’s playlist, “Stray Italian Greyhound” by Vienna Teng. Please listen to it during That Part of the chapter.

- “Was it love? Were they in love? They couldn’t be. They were a demon, they were unforgivable, they were rotten and broken-” - Part of this is a reference to “Good Omens”, part of this is another callback to his mother’s hurtful words from chapter 3 of Time is a Flat Circle. They really seem to stick with him, huh?

- “The ritual was much harder than Beetlejuice remembered. Perhaps it was their drained energy, but they didn’t remember it burning so much.” - That’s so weird. I wonder what this ritual entailed? Couldn’t have been good. But he got a Book out of it!

- “ “Your humans?” This seemed to pique his interest, as his silhouetted form suddenly drew in much closer. “Have you a coven now, little lamb?” ” - I wonder why Cyrus was so interested in BJ having a coven? Also say hi to my rotten bastard everyone! You will hate him.

- “little lamb” - Cyrus calls BJ this due to his sheep features! Also to demean him. (If you couldn't tell from his other nickname being “pet”.)

- “Tomorrow is another day.” - shameless FNAF 4 reference. FNAF made me who I am. It reprogrammed my brain as a child.
