Ootd is all harvest colors. I can hardly believe I found a yellow hat that I love. It's the first article of yellow clothing I have EVER owned because yellow normally looks awful on me but this one looks great! I'm pretty happy with my new lipstick too!

October's lolita fashion meetup was made way cuter by @bright-eyes-hope dressing up as an eccentric Bulbasaur trainer! Couldn't resist cuddling with her plushie and plotting to kidnap him. My other outfit idea was a ghost but I decided to wear this instead. She said I could still end up being a ghost... 😳 👀 Now which of us should be more worried??

Yesterday I thought I wanted to wear this dress again and when I took it out of the closet I saw the bulbbag and thought hey, this is a match and when I went over to pick jewellery I stumbled upon the brooch I got for free at our last mini tea party pop up shop thingy.
So all that was left was to pick one of the boys to come with. 💚🥰

Join me in the forest
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I decided to wear mori kei for my latest meetup with my local lolita fashion community. I'm kind of the rogue mori girl within our squad. Though I often mix and match both styles too!
I had major period cramps and back pain the day prior and wanted something loose and comfortable to wear to the meetup. Mori is the style for that!
The temperature also climbed up from 21°C in the morning to 28°C - which meant I did minimal layers to be prepared for that. I wore a pale yellow blouse with a flower embroidery on it, my signature mori girl dress with it's layers and pointy circle skirts and a light green gilet with a beautiful grape print on it. The dress and gilet are handmade!
I had so much fun with my friends and delicious food at the restaurant. We usually leave in "shifts" from the meetup, because some of us want to stay longer and some leave earlier. I walked to the tram with two of my lovely friend and there's an open free bookshelf for trading books. I had to take a picture with this book as it's called "Die Leute aus dem Walde" which translates to "the people of the forest" and matches perfectly with mori kei!!!
Image 1: A collage of a picture showing Amy (me) and some trees, divided by a white border. The picture to the left showing me: pictured is Amy, a young, fat, white woman with glasses and long brown hair worn in two braids. She's wearing a lace headband and origami-paper-leaves as earrings. Her necklace features a big brown moth. A mint-green gilet vest with a grape print and ornamental decorations is worn over a cream lacey dress with pointy circle skirts, as well as a pale yellow cropped blouse worn under said dress with wide flowey sleeves. Lightly tan sandals with straps and lace cutouts finish the outfits off.
The picture is taking among shrubbery and bushes, evoking the entrance to the woods you surely can find mori people in! In the picture Amy (me) is facing the viewer and enticingly beckoning with her hand, inviting you to join in her endeavors!
Image 2: A close-up picture of Amy (me), smiling at the camera. Amy is a a young, fat, white woman with glasses and long brown hair worn in two braids. Her gilet vest is crumpled in this close-up picture, but that doesn't matter as the main focus is the book she's posing with: It shows a illustrated mountain-and-forest landscape and bears the German title "Die Leute aus dem Walde" (which translates to "the people of the forest"), which of course perfectly fits Mori Kei.
Image 3: Is a repeat of image 1. Due to the way tumblr displays pictures it's a bit zoomed in. I added this picture because it makes the layout look nicer and more interesting in my opinion. [/image description]

When you're running a J-fashion Bring & Buy with your local lolita community but feel more like wearing mori kei on the day... mori lolita it is!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Morning temperature was 12°C, so I wore nylon tights, a knee sock for my bad left knee, a white lace cardigan and my newly thrifted pastel green jacket and a golden scarf. Was chilly but okay.
When I left the subway station on my way to the event two goth girls approached me and squealed over my outfit and how adorable and cute I was! They were even fellow fat girls. That was so precious!! Made my day from the start! I got an insane number of compliments that day! So much love!! Thank you everyone! That sure does wonders. Someone on insta commented "you look like a lovely flowery breeze of spring". They have a way with words for sure!
I bought the wrist cuffs at the bring & buy because they matched my outfit so well (and are very beautiful!). Also bought a red bonnet by Angelic Pretty and can't wait to style it with my little Red Riding Hood Cape (I've converted an old school Baby the Stars Shine Bright skirt into that cape). Both have lovely red velvet! A match made in lolita heaven! Couldn't resist the cute pins and lovely flower resin charms either. But hey, I have new work and more money to spend! So I'll support my local artists!! As you should.

A lovely spring afternoon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Point of fashion: my newly thrifted pastel green jacket (that just screams spring)
Full outfit rundow :
Thrifted pastel green jacket
Second hand black dress with floral print (worn over black long sleeve)
Handmade mint green maxi skirt
Beloved pastel turquoise scarf with flowers and butterflies
Cute bag with gingerbread houses on it
Black booties
I went to a local Korean supermarket for some snacks, met up with a friend and went to this cute little Japanese store with her where I finally found a little water bottle!! I've been looking for one for ages but didn't find any that met my criteria (practical but cute). Plus my friend gave me a little hello kitty figurine she brought me as a souvenir from her recent holiday in Japan!! I'm so happy she thought of me!
Then we met up with another friend and went for pastries and later one cocktail each (with some potato & vegetable chips aswell). It was a lovely time with my friends!! And I'm so happy with my new spring jacket. Perfect addition to my wardrobe!

For my birthday this year I finally made this dress wearable again!
I made this dress a couple years ago and accidentally made the elastics at the waist too tight (which made the dress very uncomfortable to wear). I sometimes really dread alterations and keep procrastinating on them for no real reason.
I only removed the elastics from the waist part and haven't added new (less tight) ones yet. The dress is already wearable as is, though I noticed another problem: I didn't have lots of fabric when I made this dress and the patchwork bodice is a bit shorter than usual for this pattern. So now this annoys me and I think about elongating the bodice somehow... sigh... would be a lot of work though!
[id]5 pictures in total.
Picture 1: a group selfie featuring three young white women (including OP). Two of them have brown hair and the third one brightly dyed red hair. OP is in the middle: a fat woman with glasses, wearing her brown hair open with two small decorative braids framing her face. She's wearing a green patchwork dress, mixed with cream coloured fabric with pink roses on it and white fabric with pink/violett hearts and green ornaments on it. The bodice is finished with cream-coloured lace bias binding. She's wearing a flower crown with green vines and white, pink & magenta coloured flowers on it (a birthday present from a friend from some years ago).
Her brown-haired friend is a bit chubby as well, with a short braid. She's wearing a cheerful yellow top with white daisies on it! She's wearing fancy brown macrame style earrings. Unfortunately her beautiful tree necklace made with buttons is not visible in the picture, you can only see the leather string of the necklace.
The third friend is thin and slender, but also sharing something with OP: she's also wearing glasses. She's wearing a pink bow in her red hair, as well as a pink "tattoo style" elastic necklace. She's wearing an off-white crochet shawl lent to her by OP over her white shirt.
The women are all smiling, it's clearly a happy day!
Picture 2: A close-up of the patchwork dress turned inside out. It shows the middle part, made of green gingham with the too-tight elastic still sewn into it.
Picture 3: A close-up of the bodice and waist-part of patchwork dress being worn with the too-tight elastic removed from the waist.
Picture 4:
An almost full body shot of OP: a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair. She's wearing most of her hair open and it falls in a wave over her shoulders. Two thin decorative braids frame her face and give her an elven look. One of the braids is tangled with the strap of her sand-coloured crocheted bag in this picture. The bag is decorated with a green bow with a floral pattern on it! She's wearing a flower crown with white, pink and magenta coloured flowers on it, they are made from wire and nailpolish (an old birthday present from a friend of hers). The star of the show is the patchwork dress: made out of green fabric with a gingham pattern (there are darker green patches and lighter green patches), green gingham patches with flowers printed on it, creme coloured patches with pinkish roses on them and green patches with pinkish roses on them. Mixed with it is a white fabric with violet coloured hearts and green ornamental swirls on it and a cream-coloured fabric covered with strips of lace. The lace fabric has also been turned into bias tape for the binding of the neckline and the arm holes of the dress. The dress is decorated with side gores made out of the white fabric with violet coloured hearts on it. The gores are decorated with a thick green lace. Yellow lacy sleeves of a shirt are visible under the bodice of the dress and a amber coloured bracelet can be seen on the left wrist. The woman is standing in front and among some lush greenery (trees and bushes), adding to the elfen look of her outfit.
Picture 5: A full body shot of the above described woman. She's standing on a path next to some hedges and trees. The picture is blurred - like you were trying to take a picture of some otherwordly fae perhaps...?[/id]

Throwback to a good friend's wedding a couple years back. She asked us to dress traditionally Austrian (or at least inspired). My look read hobbit-esque mori kei because I'm still me. You had everything from very traditional looking dirndl to very flashy cheep looking ones.
Everything handmade by me expect the maroon knit jacket. (vest, blouse, skirt, apron, underskirt and bloomers are handmade by me). The crocheted gold shawl was a handmade present from an old friend of my mum to my mum and she gave me the shawl because I love it so much. The handbag was embroidered by my mum and was either a present for my grandma or my grandma's sister (and came back to us when they died).

I found mori kei pants!! Yes!!
They were on sale because the store location closes down. They're perfect for summer and very comfy! (I have to do a slight fit alteration but they're also fine as is.)
Check out the cute pattern on them (first detail picture). Aren't the little leaves adorable?
The golden short-sleeved crochet cardigan is thrifted and the blouse handmade (by me!). The lace headband is also handmade (by a friend). This is very casual mori but summer is just not suitable to the usual layers of mori kei.
[Id]Two close up pictures: one of the intricate leaves pattern on a cream-coloured pair of summer pants, one of the bigger leaves pattern on a brown summer blouse. The second close-up shows a young white woman with glasses and two braids draped in front of her face. She's wearing the brown blouse with the leaves pattern on it and a golden-coloured crocheted short-sleeved shrug.
The next 3 pictures show the same young white woman with glasses and two braids posing in front of some green shrubbery, extending her hand invitingly to the viewer, looking ino the distance and slightly crouching down.[/id]

My friend told me I look like I'm about to brandish a knife and kill the next person to cross me
Who's in danger? For July's lolita fashion meetup I wasn't feeling like wearing any lolita. I'm more in a mori kei mood since spring to be honest, and because it was very hot anyway I went with a comfy & yet still pretty mori look!
This is another example how to do mori kei in hot weather: obviously you have to do fewer layers, or otherwise suffer the consequences. I'm wearing: a gorgeous dress I got on super clearance this spring (because the store location was closing down near my work place), a gilet I've made myself and an underskirt (you see the hem poking out) that I've also made myself.
My accessories are minimal as well: a lace headband (handmade by a friend), a pentagram necklace (handmade by an animal charity club) and intricate sandals with cut-out details. (Reminder to myself to buy a second pair of these sandals for keeping a backup, because I love them so much and their still available a couple of years later right now... better keep one pair safe when this eventually meets it's demise!)
[id]A young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair worn in two braids is posing in front of a brick building, the colours match well with the creme colours of her mori kei outfit. She's wearing a sand-coloured short sleeved dress (with cute strings and tassles at the neckline), with the hem of a cream-coloured underskirt peaking out. Over the dress she's wearing a creme-coloured gilet with lace details and purple-and-blue-flower print bias tape and details on the side panels. You only get a hint of the flower fabric of the side panels in the pictures though. She's wearing a lace headband, a pentagram necklace and intricate sandals with multiple straps in darker sand colours to complete the look. You can also see the dark string of noise-cancelling headphones dangling down her top. They're not plugged in to anything, she's just enjoying the silence (or reduced noise at least). She's also wearing a backpack, but you can only see the straps of it in these front-facing pictures.
Pic 1 and 2 look very similar, she's facing the camera and looking serious. In Pic 1 she's inviting the onlooker to join her, in pic 2 her friend commented she looks like she's brandishing an invisible knife or about to brandish a knife. She's looking very cute and innocent in her outfit though, she would never!
Pic 3 is playing on the "dangerous" image she's giving off, another one of the woman's friends commented her mirrored cute pictures always remember her of the twins in the horror movie "The Shinning" and the mirror effect was used on this image to reference this. Kawaii but with an edge![/id]

Mixing fast fashion (berry dress bought new on sale because a shop near my work closed down), slow fashion (brown corduroy coat gotten for free at an apartment clean out my father did) and handmade accessories (felted flower hair accessory from a swap by a friend of mine and real birch leaf necklace dipped in resin bought from a charity club for animal support). I've decorated the hip bag with a carved wooden owl (which I bought for a long distance friend once but lost contact with before I could give her the owl) and the big green tassle.

I went thrifting and was successful! I'll have to do some tweaks to two of these but otherwise they work as is. My (honorary) aunt was amazed how inexpensive thrifting is and praised me for being environmentally and money conscious!
Consider this a little teaser, as I'll probably show the tweaks I have to do and for sure will style this items in up-coming outfits of mine :) Though the light blue spot is a merino wool pullover that will have to wait until next winter! (Winter is coming though... eventually...)
