Mo-mo-mori!!!

After lots of lolita fashion shenanigans I really wanted to concentrate on mori kei for a while! Putting this look together was so much fun!

Perfect for attending July's lolita fashion meetup with my friends (we have no strict dress code and other fashions & normie clothes are fine.)

Outfit rundown (from top to bottom):

hair flower: handmade (and lost on the walk home that day..)

shell earrings: handmade from shells

shell necklace: handmade

lacey crop top: handmade

big shell sash: thrifted

gilet with pointy bits / tails: handmade (you can only see the bottom part in my outfit, because I'm wearing the crop top layered over it)

bracelet: from an animal charity, handmade by them

crocheted skirt: handmade / upcycled from a table cloth my great aunt crocheted during WW II

underskirt: handmade

There's no outfit that can't be improved with a tiny plushie - here's a co-ord with my birthday dress from 2024 and a tiny friend 😺

Poppy Field dress from H&M tablecloth, stays from mustard twill, both using self draft patterns. Styled with all thrifted items - a cozy aran cardigan, brown leather bag, loafers, chatelaine necklace and a tiny little cat plushie.

I was pretty happy with how this look turned out, the other day. First time styling gingham for a Mori look, and I’m obsessed with the pattern now!

When wearing Mori Kei (but really, for every picture I take) I like to seek out the nature I can find in the city to take pictures of my outfits. Nature (trees, bushes & flowers) just make for the perfect backdrop - especially for Mori Kei! I really like these pine trees I found on this day. They have such an intense and dark green colour and their branches are such a nice, deep brown. They contrast beautifully with the blue (and slightly cloudy) sky and with the light colours of my mori outfit. I really like the contrast from the asphalt of the parking lot, to the dry grassy area, to the vibrant pine trees! And me, posing in front of all that. They are very nice pictures in my opinion.

OP is a young fat white woman with glasses and long brown hair. She's wearing a thrifted dusty brown shirt with three big leaves printed on the front of it. The leaves are outlined in black and have some silver stripes on it. Her skirt is very long and decorated with a pinkish-purple and gold broquade ribbon and lots and lots of cream-coloured lace. (Three rows of a narrower/hand width lace and a very wide lace at the hem of the skirt. The laces are very similar in style and have the same cream colour. The skirt itself is made from a dusty rose pink viscose fabric, which matches well with the dusty brown shirt.

Her sandals match well too: they are a dark sand colour, with decorative straps. To accentuate the pinkish-purple ribbon of the skirt she's got a darker purple scarf with silver stripes on it (like the silver of the leaves on the shirt - everything is thought out here!!) and her backpack is pinkish-purple as well - you can only see the straps of the backpack in this front facing picture. She's wearing a band of cream coloured fabric as a headband.

The woman is standing on a parking lot, hence the grey floor. Behind her is a soft hill of dry grass, topped with vibrant dark green pine trees contrasting beautifully with the cloudy blue sky. In front of the woman is a grass stalk, that cuts the picture in such a way that you're wondering if it's a very tall blade of grass or a very small woman… (or is she something else entirely…?) In this picture the woman is looking dreamily to the left.

Pictures 2 and 3 are very similar to the first one, down to the perspection shifting blade of grass. In picture 2 eye contact is made.

Summer mori kei

My outfit consists of: hairband (handmade/ fabric scrap), shirt (thrifted), scarf (posing here with it, used it as intended & also as a belt, thrifted) and a long intricate skirt (handmade) and beautiful sandals.

Temperature: 26°C (22°C after dark) (finally a stop to the heatwave! Started out warm but was still comfortable when the temperature dropped. Employed the scarf as intented when it got cooler after sundown)).

Petite mori cat I made last night! I made some adjustments on the original pattern and it feels perfect! It’s currently a hand sized doll but I would love to make a palm sized one and turn it to a cute necklace! (≧◡≦) ♡
