An Analysis of Shelly

I know what you're thinking. "But Toffee, you only ever post Goob-related content! What's with this sudden Shelly craze?"

Now, my one and only favorite character is and always will be Goob, but I have started to take an interest in Shelly's character lately. And hoooo boy, it has been one HELL of a rabbit hole. Plus, I haven't seen anyone else actively point this out, so I'm doing it myself.

Are you ready?

Let's begin.

The first thing about Shelly that struck me as odd in the new update was her design.

Now, there is absolutely nothing bad about her design-I find it very good, actually!-but when I saw that she was a MAIN CHARACTER TOON (I wasn't keeping up with update news), I was shocked. Everything about her design, from the clothing she wears to the colors made her look like a more...out of the way character. A character meant to have one singular purpose, and then be brushed aside and forgotten. The fact that she was one of the main toons was....strange.

I mean, look at her compared to Teagan!

If you knew about Dandy's World, but didn't know about the update, which one would you guess was the main toon?

I found this...interesting.

Then, I looked into her dialogue on the wiki.

Average stuff, for the most part. She didn't really have anything that jumped out at me. In fact, she didn't show too much unique personality at all. The only thing she was really doing was helping others, or occasionally asking for things from others. Nothing else, really.

Although, there was one strange piece of dialogue that caught my eye, that actually showed a hint of what kind of person Shelly is.

Odd, but ok...

And then, I read the description for her twisted form after finally getting 50%....

And it all made sense.

Let me highlight it for you.

"The blatant ignorance of her existence by everyone around her has enraged her."

At first I thought that this had to be an exaggeration. Surely this friendly and helpful toon couldn't just be ignored like tha-

Oh.

They're right.

Every single bit of dialogue she has is either her helping someone or her asking for something. It's sort of like that person at a job you like being around, but you never really get to know. That's Shelly with basically EVERYONE.

Seriously, name ONE genuine friend that she has currently IN THE GAME (not counting Sprout) that she has had an actual conversation with where they bond and get to know each other as people.

The only time she had some sort of conversation was with Teagan, when she mentioned she was doing ok..."sorta-ish". That line in itself is interesting as well, as it shows how she feels about all of this. But still, they don't really seem to be friends.

We're dipping into a bit of headcanon territory here, but I believe it's rooted enough into Canon to include.

Shelly is someone who craves human (or in this case, toon) connection. She wants to be dependable, to be the one people can fall back on when they're feeling down, to be the one people rely on, and she has that, in a sense. However, no matter how much she does for others, no matter how much she helps them and supports them...

People only see her as..someone to ask for help on occasion. Uh oh, I dropped something, better get that fossil girl to help, since she's always so useful. And that is a part of what Shelly wants!

But that's it.

Useful.

A tool to use and then toss aside for the next person until they need her again.

That's all there is to almost every relationship she has.

And part of it is her fault.

You see, Shelly is so focused on helping people that she forgets to take that next step to forge true friendships, and unfortunately, nobody seems to ever catch on that she wants to take that step to forge genuine bonds with others.

She's non-confrontational by nature, and she doesn't want to ruin her perception of being useful, because then people might forget about her entirely, so she waits and hopes that someone will hear something that she will never say herself.

A good example of this is the strange dialogue I mentioned earlier between Shelly and Vee.

Vee asks if she's busy after they're done with going down the elevator. Shelly initially doesn't believe that anyone would ever ask HER of all people to...possibly hang out...and talk..like friends...

So she gets excited. She asks what they're going to do together (although notably phrasing it in a way so it seems like she is offering to help), and...

It was...just moving some supplies. More work. More reasons to be useful. This isn't a bad thing! It means that people care about her! That they have need for her, so they'll never forget about her! It's not like she hoped that someone actually wanted to take time out of their day to hang out with her, nope! She'd never tell Vee any of that! And besides, she's totally fine with this!

So why does it hurt so badly?

Shelly's greatest fear has been happening to her for years, and she refuses to agknowledge it. To her, it could be so much worse if she stopped helping people. As long as she's useful, people will like her. They would never even think to toss her aside and forget about her, right?

Except they have been for a long time now.

When people talk to her, she either has to initiate by asking for something, or they initiate only because they need something from her. She wants to tell them so badly, to ask them why they never seen to pay any attention to her, or attempt to even have a real conversation with her, but she will never be that bold.

Even with the cardboard cutouts on one of the maps, she's hidden in the back-present, but barely noticed by those around her. (this is more obvious in game)

No matter how much she tries, no matter how friendly or helpful or dependable she is, people never seem to see her as a person. Why don't they see her?! She's right here! She's here and she's endlessly waiting for connections that will never come to pass! It's fine though, really!

Keep being friendly, and people will like you more.

Keep being helpful, and people will have a reason to talk to you.

Keep being dependable, and people will have a reason to come back. They won't ever leave you alone. Right..?

Escapade Dance Party 2023 Writeup 2/3

Here is the playlist I ended up with this year, plus my commentary:

First Half

Good Omens | Running in the 90's by Maria Morningstar

Good Omens is so tricky. On the one hand, there are a billion fantastic vids, many with editing that's better than this one. On the other, a lot of the preferred music is syrupy and slow, and GO fans are actively seeking out vids and have already seen many of the ones intended for cons in the English-speaking world.

I wanted something high-energy to open the dance with, and this ridiculous song fit the bill. It woke people up and got them noticing the music had started.

I don't know Maria, but her channel has a bunch of things with cyrillic titles, so I'm guessing she's Russian. That meant a higher chance of this vid being new to people at Escapade.

Tubthumping by Aaronantium

To be perfectly honest, I do not care about this anime, but I was chilling with Aaron at Vidders Chat and discussing my plans, and he offered to make me a vid for his vampire fandom.

I don't generally accept premieres because it means wrangling more people and dealing with uncertainty, but Aaron suggested this song, and it's always a crowd pleaser as is the vid everyone makes to it. This fandom is also unusually perfect for said joke, featuring as it does a repeatedly dying vampire who… well… gets back up again.

Actually, despite it not being most people's fandom, I think this vid got one of the biggest laughs and reactions of anything during the party.

Kirk/Spock | I Knew You Were Trouble by mogo nit

K/S is a perennial favorite with con attendees—more TOS but AOS too. I don't recall why I was specifically looking for it this year. Probably, it ranked best out of things people mentioned on their site profiles.

This is an old-ass vid from 10 years ago, so if people have seen it, they probably haven't seen it lately. It's also a song I love, cliched though it might be for vids.

Word of Honor - Wenzhou - Hit and Run by CelestialMoonDragon

I knew I wanted to include WoH, both for its many fans and for people still dragging their feet about checking out Asian live action m/m stuff. The fandom has a wealth to choose from from vidders all over the globe. The big issue was simply finding vids that weren't too plastered with show audio.

When I heard this song choice, however, I knew it was the one. WoH has some unusual genre elements for wuxia, specifically all the central government focus where wuxia characters usually stay away from politics. The song really highlights that aspect. Those lyric matches! Genius!

Obviously, if I was going to celebrate the new IWTV, I couldn't leave out the old movie!

This is a brilliant song choice given what happens to Lestat. It's interesting to me how many Chinese vidders use music I know well. It's always fun to see what they do with a Western source and Western music, and I think bilibili is largely uncharted territory for most Escapade attendees.

The Sentinel still has monofannish fans, but covering it for a dance party is a pain in the butt. I generally end up scraping the depths of Bilibili, and this year was no exception…

So how excited was I to find this refreshing and freaky take! This audio is apparently from some short film and has become something of a meme amongst vidders, but I hadn't heard it before and I don't think anyone at the con had either.

It's always extra surprising and wonderful to find a more serious and darker vid for fandoms everyone associates with camp and retro cheese. The Sentinel fans I included it for were blown away too. It's apparently a pretty good representation of the episode in question.

Forever Knight Vampires | Darkness, Darkness | Gothic 90s by knightvision1228

Because I had the vampires theme, I made a huge list of vampire fandoms to try to include. Forever Knight was one of my fandoms of the 90s and very popular with het shippers and slashers alike. Finding a vid that didn't look like bad VHS transfer, however, was easier said than done.

This one won out for featuring a rare song from the FK soundtrack that was never released. The vid also showcases the main trio instead of just being Nick/Jeanette het.

Megatron x Optimus (Song: Wrecking Ball) by Mellew

We have a lot of Transformers fans, and it's always so hard to find something I can play in the dance party… well… something that's not a 10-minute compilation of explicit fan art to horny reggaeton. Personally, I'm all about that reggaeton, but I've been looking for actual shipper vids that are a little more representative and a little less likely to make the fans combust in embarrassment.

When I heard the song choice… well… no other vid could compete.

But don't let the literalism and hilarious if one-note joke fool you: this is a fantastically edited vid that makes excellent use of the song's varying tempo.

And yes, I made sure to loudly say "WHY ARE YOU ALL LAUGHING? THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS VID" as the vid started.

BakuDeku AMV - Lucky Strike by caliowl 333

Do I watch BNHA? No. Do people at the con watch BNHA? No. Do antis hate this ship? Absofuckinglutely YES!

I love stupid shonen nonsense, and this fandom provides it in spades. It took a while to find an AMV that wasn't littered with not only show audio but dubbed show audio. (What am I, an animal?!)

I also just really love this song for dance parties.

Dancing on My Own - Robyn (Izzy Hands Edit) by auxiliarywardrobe

OFMD is another tough one. It's not due to a lack of vids: if anything, there are too many. But so many aren't suitable for a dance party and many are already familiar to people.

While I did find this on AO3 (honestly nearly a requirement for finding non-show audio vids in this fandom), it hadn't gotten any attention from people I recognized as an Escapade type crowd.

I loved the indignity of pairing Izzy with this ridiculous song. OFMD was a little anodyne for me in some ways, so the sleazy obnoxiousness of Izzy is a welcome antidote to all of the fluff and angst vids about the main ship.

At the same time, I don't particularly ship Izzy with anybody. I enjoy watching him be miserable, and the song is actually quite a good lyrical match for his impotent frustration.

Do You Wanna Touch Me? [Fanvid] by resurrecho

Okay, this one is cheating on my own rules. I'm sure people had every opportunity to see it… But it's also a femslash vid that is very, very horny.

This one's for you ladies tired of ~dewy flower~ soft bullshit!

Cult of Dionysus - Leverage OT3 - Eliot/Parker/Hardison by leverage brain worms

Leverage remains a perennial favorite and the new show had attendees talking,  but people often request the same tired old vid choice. I went looking for something that hadn't been played at every con over and over.

I liked that this vid was relatively recent. The song with poly lyrics was a fun touch.

HeiHua FMV~|| Hei Ye falling for the Thorny Flower by Black Flower

When I saw this vid, I said to myself: I don't know who they are, but I ship them!

AND GUESS WHAT? SEEING THE SHOW DID NOT CHANGE THAT OPINION!

Yes, this vid is directly responsible for me watching all these DMBJ adaptations.

I knew a lot of Escapade attendees were vaguely familiar with Reunion because of Zhu Yilong, but I didn't think most had checked out the rest of DMBJ, and this vid was so diametrically opposite of both that adaptation and the vibe of the big ship that I knew I just had to include it.

But seriously, this vidder actually has an excellent grasp of narrative. Now that I've seen the show, some of this stuff is repurposed and out of context, but you wouldn't know it from the eyelines.

Cover Me - A Fanvid by TinTurtle

Ah, Pros. The Professionals has the most dedicated fans at Escapade, hands down. They keep the con afloat and keep their fandom vibrant even after decades. Finding a dance vid to include for them, however, is a bit of a trial.

Realistically, I'm never going to find a vid they haven't all seen unless I make it myself, so I look for songs with a better beat than the typical old fandom vids tend to have.

The Fanged Four - Play with Fire (BTVS/ATS) by SlayerVid

People were talking about the Buffyverse again this year. Was it an anniversary of some kind? I can't recall, but it's a big nostalgia fandom for a lot of attendees, and it's one of the bigger vampire fandoms, so I wanted to include it.

While there used to be a billion vids for Buffy and Angel, only a fraction of them are findable online now. I went hunting for something not by a con regular and with visual quality that would play okay on a projector.

This is a great song for its grinding beat, and the vid is both recent and features a variety of vampire characters.

I suspect I found it by looking for Kei x Yaku vids, but as soon as I spotted it, I knew it was a must-have.

Yes, this is full of stupid show audio, but too bad: Nobody at a slash or BL con should be allowed to escape without knowing that A Man Who Defies the World of BL exists.

The Locked Tomb | Fences (SPOILERS!) by peachy 💕

This fandom was the latest hot flavor for many and f/f to boot. I was skeptical about finding a vid, but what do you know!

This music grabbed me by the throat. I'd never even heard of LÉON, but the soulful sound is perfect for this fandom.

I desperately wanted a vid to this song. The cover isn't my fave, but I couldn't turn down the combo of a vampire fandom and this classic.

True, Killa isn't exactly obscure to anyone at Escapade, but this is a relatively less seen older vid and excellently edited.

I'll be honest, everyone was trying to push Wednesday/Enid around the time of the con, and that ship is the most boring thing you could possibly take away from this show. I wanted a vid that showcased what's actually fun here, which is not sucking all the creepy out of an Addams Family adaptation, for fuck sake.

ALIEN SUPERSTAR | Wanda & Scarlet Witch by LittleLaceBoots

MCU is still big with attendees, but it's so sprawling that knowing what to choose is hard. I found this music choice quite interesting for how it showcases the weird schtick of this particular show.

If there's one AO3 vidder I will always play, it's lilly_the_kid! I wanted something for Star Wars, and I wanted it to be slash. This classic and ridiculous vid fit the bill.

Everyone vids this song, but this example is particularly great!

I like aspects of The Untamed a lot. Sadly, those aspects do not include the central ship. I'm always on the hunt for vids that actually work for me. This take on Lan Wangji is hilarious.

Geraskier - Fine By Me by CainnetreIt delights me to find vids to other versions of popular canons. This is such a classic slash vid. It's not particularly danceable, but it's so fun that I wanted to include it, so it needed to go at the end of a section. It's the kind of song you wave your beer around to.

For the Infected!AU, we have a few choices for platonic yandere/s. I've mentioned how different mutations will influence how the infection affects the mutant/human/being. For now, I want to explore how it affects the feral mutants, and how the bby reacts (plus possible mutations for the bby). And the thing is, the bby has backstory with their yandere/s. So, the infected's previous life and relationships can influence them, even after the infection has taken effect and obscured their past memories into a haze of blurred emotions and fragmented thoughts. For now, we will discuss some possible mutant variants of bby.

Possible mutations for their bby include, but aren't limited to:

Harpy!bby: they have a small pair of functioning wings, sharp talons akin to Sabretooth, and act a little feral. Acts like a bird sometimes, collects shiny stuff and rocks and bones. Their wings fluff up when they are highly anxious or scared, and they remind the platonic yan of a baby bird trying to look threatening. Has seen some sh*t, and lived to tell the tale. Can swallow food almost whole, inhaling it quickly as though it will disappear into thin air. Some nicknames for them given by the platonic yanderes (the feral, or anyone you want to imagine) include: fledgling, chick, hatchling, nestling, birdie, Tweetie

Empath!bby: a bby who can feel the emotions of those around them, and possible branch-offs of their mutation could include things like sharing memories between themself and another person, influencing emotions based on their current feelings and mood, feeling someone else's pain and letting someone feel their's, etc.. Very loving and warm, wants hugs all the time, spends a lot of energy trying to help who they can. Possible nickname for them given by their platonic yandere/s (feral or otherwise) include: bleeding heart, sweet stuff, love,

Pyrokinesis!bby: a bby who could be anything from a walking ember (pretty much can warm up like a heated stone), disco-inferno where they can set themself on fire or become a fire being (can be any color of flame, and might look like a light show), flame thrower (where they can generate flames and aim them at enemies), or any other flame ability. Maybe they can even start fires! They are passionate, enjoy marshmallows, and survived by cooking or boiling anything they consumed. Nicknames for this bby given by the platonic yan/s (feral, otherwise, or something else) include: Hot Stuff, Flaming Hot, Lava Lamp, ember, little light

Eldritch!bby: a bby who is a bit... unsettling. Perhaps their teeth are too sharp or too many. Maybe they have tentacles or whisps or limbs sprouting from their back. They could have multiple eyes, a larger and mind-warping form, hypnotic abilities, or anything that fits something eldritch and unimaginable. They love sea food, water, and nighttime. Can be cranky if they haven't slept for over 36 hours. Nicknames the yans could give them include: squid, H. P. Lovecraft, moon eyes, favorite (kid, friend, sibling, elder god)

GemBody!bby: like Emma Frost, they can become a living, breathing organic gem person. Perhaps they are opaque; or marbled; maybe they are two-toned; color-changing; they could look like any gem imaginable, from bumblebee jasper to obsidian to ametrine to amber to agate to any type, really. Maybe they have sharp crystals sprouting off of them in that form. Or perhaps they can find gemstones in the wild. Mayhaps they even can consume rocks in that form, and turn those rocks into gems. This bby is the sort to hit someone too hard, and apologize profusely... even if that person was someone who they were just fighting with. Keeps band-aids on hand, as well as water. Nicknames for this bby from the platonic yan/s can include: jewel, gem, diamond in the rough, gold-heart, geode

There are many other mutations that the bby could have in this au, or any others. But for now, we have these options to satisfy our craving for choices. These were some honeycomb thoughts on different mutant!bby variants!

Digimon Anode/Cathode Tamer: Veedramon Edition - 5 hours in

Another long-ass title I have to type out. Also, another name that only sounds cool to Japanese people, but to English speakers it's just like "wtf am I looking at?"

Anyway! I started playing the Wonderswan Digimon game! I think this game was an attempt to use the Pokémon model of having two versions of pretty much the same games with a different variety of mons in each. (Only ever seen Pokémon and Yokai Watch do that). I honestly can't remember which version I selected, but I'm only going to do one of them. Judging by the walkthrough I'm using, it seems like this will be a short one. That's already a plus in my book. I'm enjoying myself so far.

Notes:

-First impressions of this game were very much a mixed bag. On the one hand, I really like the art/graphics, but I was very frustrated to not be told wtf was going on, like with Digimon World 1. I did end up picking things up pretty quickly, but I don't think a newer kid's game would ever be this vague. Also, the music is very annoying and repetitive.

-I didn't expect poor Ryo to get so ripped off! Gennai calls him a "chosen child," but then is immediately like "here, have this hand-me-down digivice and Agumon." Lame! I get they're trying to tie it into the anime, but they still could have given Ryo his own stuff. Oh well, maybe that changes later.

-Plot-wise we have a similar issue to Digimon Adventure 02, why can't the OG kids just help? -big shrug-

-I groaned when Gennai welcomed me to the digital world lol. Hate that dude.

-Now that I've gotten used to the battle system I'm having a lot of fun. I haven't played a ton of tactical RPGs (I briefly played but didn't finish Disgaea) so seeing that that was the play style made me a little nervous.

-Already some improvements over Digimon World 2 (even though this game is older): taming digimon is less painful, when you lose in a dungeon you can just try again instead of getting a game over screen, very easy to fast forward through things and the battles aren't as painfully slow, and I haven't hit any annoying storage limits (yet). Earning money, skills, and stat increases come pretty quickly so grinding is satisfying too.

-There's a lot of extra stuff in this game I'll probably just ignore. It seems they wanted this game to be very social, but I don't have anyone to play with, so I obviously won't be exploring the multiplayer features. No clue what the analyzer does.

-I'm 4 dungeons in and there are only 13 of them. It's still kinda tricky for me to predict how long this game will be though because I'm assuming future dungeons might take many tries.

-Sooo this game was officially released in English by Bandai Asia, but I don't think the US ever got the Wonderswan, so I guess it was for English speakers in the East only. Weirdly I was watching an anime the other day and they suddenly mentioned the handheld. I was like "what are the odds!?" (Anime is Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Lovecraft-sensei. It's really bad, don't watch it lol)

So for anyone genuinely following me for Guns for Hire stuff (which, btw, love you /p) I want to briefly explain some stuff I talked about and explained but not really in detail: Corruption.

So in the context of the story, Corruption is the most common name for what happens after someone consumes too much Dragon's Breath. It's slow acting and Corruption only spreads when they drink Dragon's Breath. It spreads faster if the person who's drinking Dragon's Breath is injured, dying, or ill, as their system is much more vulnerable to the potion. The potion, depending on the amount consumed or the intensity of it, can turn someone into what is known as an Ender; a giant black and purple beast that can teleport and read minds, while also being extremely strong, but they're also vulnerable to water. No one in Guns for Hire really knows about the mind reading stuff except for a few characters, namely Xornoth, Orion, Sausage, fWhip, Pearl and a few other characters that haven't been mentioned much. Obviously Xornoth turned because he had been consuming it to stop the spread of the Wither and this is why Sausage and Solidarity wanted it as well. If Sausage hadn't been cured by The Watchers and if Solidarity hadn't been brought back to life by Pearl, they would have still been suffering from the effects of the potion. Pixl, the way I see it, had consumed one of the biggest doses of Dragon's Breath, plus he was already pretty hurt. His body reacted strongly but even the potion wasn't enough to save him because of how early in the testing phase it was.

Enders are basically seen as a sort of creature in The Undercity. A sort of pest people just try and avoid because Enders don't normally attack unless provoked. While much isn't know to people who aren't Enders, it all starts making sense once you are one.

One of the ideas I had was to explore what happens with Oli in an unreleased but planned sequel (I ended up just loosing motivation on it, plus there were so many parts to it I'd have to write, it just felt very overwhelming lol I will be happy to answer some questions on it tho :D), as his role is very tied to the role of Enders. Essentially, as he was looking for Joel in the Undercity, he would have been kidnapped and experimented on, and would have turned into a combination of an Ender and a Human. He would have the abilities and characteristics of an Ender, while still maintaining a semi-human form, having more metal control over himself than an actual Ender. It was a pretty interesting concept that I might talk about later, but you would have found out that Enders can communicate with someone known to them as "The Orb" which claimed to be a God of this world and Enders had ascended high enough to speak with them. The big twist would have been the voice was actually a Watcher.

So yeah! Corruption is caused by Dragon's Breath, but can take years to actually fully turn someone into an Ender and Enders are connected to the Watchers. I'm tempted to write Oli's point of view, because it's such an interesting storyline and it would have explored a bit of what happened after the end but idk. Maybe one day

♡◦◦ Bunny's First Impressions: Sun Haven ◦◦♡

Sooooo I started playing Sun Haven and I have a lot of thoughts!! They're majority good because it is a really nice game and I'm having a lot of fun, and I am nowhere near done with the game I only just started. I thought that I would ramble a bit about my thoughts for anyone that was considering the game or just anyone that might have been curious!

Disclaimer: This is by no means a full blown review of the game considering I have only played for a couple days and therefor haven't really experienced much that the game has to offer. This is also not meant to sway anyone one way or another, rather just give some insight to some things and just ramble about my experience. I'm merely just a person who likes video games and likes to talk about them!

Introductions and Initial Thoughts

First things first, this game is BEAUTIFUL! It really is a nice looking game with a lot of aesthetically pleasing things about it that I find just wonderful. If you're like me, someone who enjoys pixel art games than this is right up your alley. Not to mention the designs are just very fantasy feeling for those that really like that sort of thing, like me. It's got similar mechanics and such to Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, which it is obviously inspired by. And it does that well, in my opinion.

Not to mention the characters that I've seen so far are wonderful, and they seem to have some depth. I'm still getting through story stuff so I can't give you much there, but I am very interested! There seems to be a good bit of romanceable characters that are interesting, and give a lot of excitement to want to play multiple times over not just for them, but for the character creation as well!

Replay value is something I look in a game, and I genuinely believe this game will do that. It can be a bit dialogue heavy so far, but I don't see that being an issue for me, seeing as I'm used to that sort of thing. Plus, I can tell the care that went into the story so far, which goes a long way to me personally.

Character Creation

This is in its own separate thing, because I have a lot to say. From what I saw early on before I bought the game, it looked like there was a lot to offer in the way of character creation. I figured I would be there for a while, and believe me, I was! There were a lot of options that I had to weigh, and like I said above, I am nowhere near finished! I'm sure that there is a lot of options to unlock later on, which will open even more options for me to choose from to customize my character.

As far as inclusivity, there were definitely options for different hair textures and skin tones, however I felt like there could have been more. It's not my place to say whether or not it was good or not, but I can definitely tell you that there is a few! It seems like a fine base, but I know that from what I've seen from others comments, it's definitely not enough.

There is a few things that did disappoint me, considering these small personal things that no way hinder gameplay in any aspect. I felt like there were more options for some things and less for others, which was a little disappointing considering I went down the list of all different options that you could pick. For example, I was heavily looking forward to the option of the Amari, considering that it looked like I could live out my furry dreams. But I felt like it was a little lacking, especially in the fact that there weren't that many options other than dogs and cats, with a few reptiles (that didn't really have anything to be honest).

And given the fact that there was a bunny witch to romance, I was very shocked that there wasn't a bunny! I also felt as if there were less fun options for the dogs than there were cats, not to mention there weren't any fun fox or wolf stuff either. Again, this is all personal and in no way should be taken as anything other than that. I am only one person, and I do not speak for everyone! You can't add everything, but it just felt like considering the array of options, someone would end up out of luck with their pick.

Inventory Management and Crafting

This is its whole separate section bc I have a lot to say on the matter. First off, I love that you're not struggling with inventory space in the beginning! You don't have to worry about upgrading right off the bat and not having any room, and chests are relatively easy to get. However as I'm in early game, I'm running into a problem of having too many chests bc they feel kind of light to me. But again that could very well just be personal preference!

The one thing I am finding issue with is mainly just how many crafting machines there are, and how it seems to be incohesive and confusing. As someone who is disabled, it can be very overwhelming and difficult with lots of options. This is true for every game like this with crafting, however i'm finding that with all of the different crafting machines you need for things, it's hard to keep track. And it's often cluttered.

Half of my land is already taken up by all the machines I need, not to mention that it's confusing which can be made with which one. That's where the wiki is pretty much essential, and I know that kind of thing is not everyone's cup of tea. Having to consult a wiki for everything can be pretty extensively, though I don't mind it much. It's only frustrating when I realized that some things you'd expect to craft with one machine, you will need a whole new one for it instead.

While there's nothing wrong with the options, it can be really hard for someone with ADHD who's brain doesn't process that kind of thing very well. And again, this is just my experience, so that will be very different from others. Just a little thing that I feel like could have been condensed, but I absolutely enjoy the array of options that we have!

Gameplay

Like I said before, it's very similar to games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon in a lot of the gameplay aspects. There are an array of tools that you use to tend to your farm, as well as magic for whenever you're in combat! I'm very excited to delve deeper into the magic, and since I'm very early game I don't have a lot to say on that quite yet. However, it looks like a lot of fun!

One complaint that I've seen from these games is how the time seems to go by quickly or too slow, and they have included an option to adjust the way time flows in the game, which is very awesome. It's a great accessibility feature, and I have adjusted the settings myself to meet my own personal needs! And the game feels like it flows perfectly, and I don't ever feel rushed. In fact, I find myself going to bed a little early in game due to the fact that I have time set to go a little slower than I'm used to!

Not to mention the fact that, unlike a lot of these games, there is an autosave feature! You don't have to worry about having to run to bed and waste an entire day, because you need to save the game and shut off for the day. That was one of the biggest things that excited me about this, as well as my next point: Skill Trees!!!

I was so excited to see a massive array of skill trees to unlock, and while I can see it can be overwhelming for some, it gives me an excuse to keep playing and doing everything the game has to offer. There are so many different sets of skills to unlock more fun things, and this is where you'll get a lot of your upgrades to make your playing much faster and efficient. There are also a lot of other fun additions that they bring to your gameplay that I'm so excited to see in the future while I play.

Conclusion

There are so many things I didn't touch on, and this is only the surface of what the game has. I'm not really a game reviewer, just someone that loves video games and finds rambling about them fun! Please take this post with a grain of salt, and if this game sounds like something you'd enjoy, I would recommend it! Just be prepared to be thrown in for a loop for how many options they have for items, characters, and more! There is so much to this game, and am I excited to see what it has to offer!!

I liked your post about plural Raph and specifically about the part that maybe Mind is fronting when trying to calm down Raph in Man vs Sewer— we don’t usually see mind front, we know him best as a head mate that raph (or others somehow) talk to. So maybe mind doesn’t like/want to front but gets triggered to do so when Raph is in (specific) emotional distress. I think it could also showcase how Mind is acting as Raph like you mentioned but messing/mixing up by speaking in the third person.

100% would be down for more posts/headcanons about plural Raph. It’s so interesting and makes a lot of sense with what we’ve seen in the show (even as someone that is not really familiar with plural persons he does seem to be heavily coded that way)

You’re completely right about Mind fronting! I believe the only time we see them fronting within the series is when they are helping Raph’s brothers and possibly even Raphael himself. As for the reason as to why Mind may not front often have a whole headcanon based on it (and a few other interpretations you can decide if you agree with or not!) 

First off, how I explain Mind not often fronting in my Figuring It Out series on Ao3 is that they are an Internal Self Helper! They base much of their energy on caring for the Shard System’s Inner World and systemmates who aren’t fronting, like Red and Savage. They have this catalog within the Inner World that Mind files away information on each headmate, their world, and other important stuff! This also kinda falls into their roles as an Overseer, Archivist, Companion, and Steward. 

So, Mind is busy a lot of the time taking care of everything and keeping the System afloat in case something happens. Especially since in the series Red and Savage hate each other (for many reasons I won’t spoil) which causes a lot of shit to happen without Raph knowing about it. Since his only connection to the Inner World is Red unless he’s not fronting. Mind is also the only being Savage trusts because Mind has worked for a very long time trying to gain his trust and showing that they just want Savage to feel safe and remain healthy. 

Mind is an important part of the integrity of the system, hence why they don’t do much on the outside! Plus, they’re Front-Repelled! It’s very hard for Mind to front unless a negative or positive trigger is strong enough to force Mind to font. Such as needing to care for whoever is fronting or their favorite music!

Secondly, other reasons are 100% possible in every context! I haven't really dug into looking up different reasons beyond my headcanons, plus I haven’t come across many Systems discussing how some headmates may not front so I’m not too well informed on other possibilities! But I can come up with some on the spot. Such as the fact that Raphael or whoever is fronting may be front stuck/front anchored, leaving Mind unable to. Mind might instead be front repulsed instead of front repelle. Or their system may work by using Front Gacha and Mind just isn’t a randomly selected fronter very often if at all!

In conclusion, I think your thoughts on Mind not liking/wanting to front is completely true and it’s honestly the most fitting answer not only based on my headcanon but also canonly since they seem to be more helper orientated! But this can be interpreted in different ways depending on what you or anyone else may want to interpret Plural Raphael as since each system has a unique experience and there is never just one answer! 

For the second part of your question I AM SO GLAD YOU FEEL THAT WAY! I have like- years of build up on Plural Raph just waiting to be released and discussed LMAO. After I get done with my first fic in my series that centers around Leo the next story is literally centered around the Shard System and I’ve wanted to talk about them from the moment I planned out their story in the series! They’re such complex and interesting characters that experience the world differently and hold characteristics that are nowhere near what we see from Raphael in the series, movie, or comics! Obviously in my headcanons there is some overlap because they’re a kind of Median System, but it still doesn’t change the fact that they are just such interesting characters and I love talking about them! I’ll probably make a post about them! Unless you guys ask me specific questions about them (which is honestly easier to do since there’s so much to cover)! 

As for your side comment regarding not knowing much about Plurality, I was 100% you at one point! The best way I recommend learning more about the diverse community is by following tumblrs based around Singlets asking questions/posts about systems! I will note that while it’s always good to learn about different communities, unless you’re a part of the community, I don’t at all recommend getting involved in discourse/arguments! *Cracks knuckles* Okay, to answer your last and final comment on, “if they would want to speak to a specific head mate at times (leo asking for mind Raph)” I just have to say that that is an excellent wondrous brain you have there bringing this up because I’ve actually written about this in my series! Here’s an example from my most recent chapter: 

"Oh!" Leo opened his eyes again at the sudden shout, ignoring how his heart jumped and his stomach slightly dropped. "Raph, I forgot I got the list of food facts Red asked me to get from my teacher! Do you still want me to send them to you guys or…?" April politely gestures at the red thread bracelet on Raph's wrist.

Raph glances down at the bracelet April had gestured at for a split moment before the body's expression changes completely, lighting up like a kid in a candy shop as the body leans forward towards April excitedly. 

"Food Facts, ey?" Red responds, thrilled, voice naturally deeper than Raph's. April grins as everyone else chuckles at his genuine and well-known passion for food. 

"Well, I guess I got my answer then," she teases as Red rolls his eyes, smirking as he leans back in his seat, a finger wiping at his bottom eyelid. 

It was one of the things Red did when he fronted. He once explained it was because he has a black goop constantly pouring from his right eye in the inner world. When Red fronts, he can still feel it there even though it isn't there when he's controlling the body.

While this isn’t a universal experience within my fic with Mind and Savage, for Red he at least fronts with a positive trigger (food facts)! He has other triggers such as keeping the body/Raphael from harm, so he’ll take control of the body/front when on Missions and someone is in danger. Plus, Red also gets forced to the front when his negative emotions become intense, especially when those emotions are from someone outside of the system, such as Raphael’s family! 

I haven’t written the chapter yet regarding Mind and Leo interacting, but it’s 100% a thing in my book! I write Red and Leo having a friendship in my fic, but Mind can have a direct connection to Leo since he’s able to walk into his headspace as seen in Insane In The Mama Train! Plus, I think Mind is like a mother, they have the vibes for it, and I can see that resonating on a fundamental level with the four turtles because of their neglectful father. 

So, I think Mind is an important person in their lives as well. I have a headcanon I’m planning to write about in my series where Mind would sometimes front to comfort Raph when Splinter wouldn’t. Singing Lullabies to Mikey when he had some bad nightmares from his Intrusive Thoughts (which is another thing I expand upon in my story/have a lot of headcanon about). And that Mind formed on some basis from the lack of a parental figure in Raphael’s life and because he had to become the parent to his siblings at such a young age. That kind of stress and trauma just kinda helped Mind form over the years, especially when Splinter would become distant and a neglectful parent more and more (which is thanks to his Depression, which is another thing I have a lot in thoughts on and is also expanded upon in my series. Honestly by this point it should be expected everything I say is in my series and something I would 100% talk about when asked).

ok dumb question and i am embarrassed to ask but the thought occurred to me, there is so much jikook on youtube, twitter and other social media (yay). we see all the jikook moments that are true and not faked with edits and slo-mo because we can watch original content and see the truth and know 99% it must be real. but someone like us who focus on jikook all the time we might not be exposed to any taekook or jihope or v-hope or other...i know there are ‘cute moments’ between all of them but...

are there not some equivalent ‘moments’ with other pairs and i just don’t see it because algorithms only show me jikook?

i have not seen any evidence or heard anyone speak of equivalent moments but i was wondering if its because they are shielded from me. i am truly curious how these other people think there are any other real couples in BTS but i thought, maybe i just don’t see the stuff they see.

no evidence of other pairs who wait for each other after rehearsal? or ride together often? or go out together when not working? or stick their hands down the other’s shirt to keep them warm?  i am just curious and afraid to search because i don’t want my youtube filled with taekook but i thought maybe asking might satisfy my curiosity if you happen to know?

i find it hard to believe people blindly think what they think is true if there is another couple in bts besides jikook. and if they do that is sad for them.

i believe in watching complete original content and so far i have not come across anything other than what looks like jungkook and jimin being so so close but i am only 2 year old army so still a little new. there is so much to watch even from other countries where they do shows and stuff i know i am missing watching a lot. thanks and i hope i didn't make anyone mad.

Anon I'm a bit confused. If you really watch original content shouldn't your question already be answered? In fact, if you really watch original content it doesn't make much sense for you to ask those questions.

There are other ships that have cute moments but they lack what for me Jimin and Jungkook have plenty of: carnal attraction, desire. The way they look at each other is just different. The way they treat each other, the intimate familiarity there seems to be between them. And that just their relationship screams more, at least to me. That's something that in all the BTS content that I've watched since September 2020, I haven't seen in other pairs. And I think at this point I've seen almost all of it.

It's easy to list "suspect" moments between other pairs or flirty moments between them but one thing they don't have is consistency. And that's a key part of what differentiates Jimin and Jungkook's dynamic from other pairs and their dynamics with other members. Plus the context in which many of those moments happen make those moments make sense and that makes them not an indicator of anything, at least to me. Something that I don't think is mentioned much and which also makes a difference is the reaction of the other members. Not for nothing many of us always say 'poor Joon' or say that Hobi knows things and that he should share it with us.

This fandom or this part of the fandom has something and that is that it has to magnify everything that the ships within BTS do. And that goes for shippers of all ships without exception. So for other ships, the most common thing like a hug is a sign of a relationship but they don't see or don't want to see the difference in those hugs, for example. And it's because of things like that that for many people other ships are real. The funny thing is that for the fandom, with the exception of jikookers, the only ship that isn't real or has no chance of being real is jikook.

This fandom in general I think, celebrates almost everything other ships do or say. They laugh, joke about it etc., but when it comes to jikook? 98% of the fandom is silent, except for jikookers of course, and those non-jikookers who dare to say something, are almost always bullied into retracting or deleting what they posted. It sounds dramatic but sadly it is not.

But at the end of the day, everything I said above is the opinions I formed from what I have seen. I recommend you not to look for anything on youtube, definitely not video analysis, you better look for original content and pay maybe a little more attention to the other pairs, I guarantee you you will answer all the questions you have.

Oh, you’re adorable. You’re like a girl out a fairy tale, to him. While he does have a personal taste for the advanced world, he has a soft spot for vintage stuff as well, if only for the aesthetic of it. You guys are a wonderful contrast! The past and the future combined, so to speak. You’re a calming safe space for him, someone he can go to when he just needs to relax and decompress. He loves your energy, and everything feels a little calmer with you around. And quite frankly, who can blame him for falling in love with you? 

He’s a huge fan of old books as well! He’s a fan of literature in general to be honest, but there’s a reason classics are, well, classics! If you have a collection, he’ll totally geek out over it. You’re legally not allowed to mention that moment to anyone else </3 He’s also a huge fan of fairytales, although he might not let that on. What can he say? Fairytales are a cornerstone of every civilization, a marker of the values and humanity of a society, they’re oral traditions transcribed into written form! They’re good! One of his favorite things to do with you is to lay his head in your lap while you read to him. He loves the sound of your voice, and everything just sounds so... right, coming from you. He closes his eyes while you read, taking in every syllable. Run your thumb over his cheeks or kiss his forehead as you turn the page, and he’ll open his eyes slowly with the sweetest smile. The air is calm, and everything feels okay in this moment. 

The way you feel emotion, so deep and so raw, is an excellent contrast to the way he outwardly displays his own. He has a lot of feelings tucked away, and you really bring out the best in him. He smiles so genuinely with you, and over time he really starts to let everything shine through. 

He’s such a romantic!! He’s been waiting all of his life to be able to take his partner by the hands and dance with them under the stars, to cook a fancy dinner for someone, to really explore the depths of romance and love with another person. And god, if you return that passion, that love and romance? He falls even deeper in love with you. Also... he’ll totally call you out on being cheesy at times, but he’s 10x worse <3 

Top Ten Cuddlers of New York... He’s super awkward about it at first, if only because he’s so inexperienced. But he eases into it so well, and he’s SO good to cuddle with once he gets over his anxiety. You could lay like this forever, you just know it. 

He makes a mean cup of tea. He prefers coffee himself, but he’ll always bring you your preference if he makes himself something. 

ADORES your love for baking... he’s huge into the chemistry aspect of it, and he likes to be in the kitchen while you bake. He’ll often bring some blueprints into the kitchen so he can work while you bake. He just likes to be in your presence, and the scent of freshly baked goods is always a plus. If you ask him to come bake with you though? He totally will, 100%. Expect the chemist brain to come out, though. Busts out the knife to measure-off excess, stoops to eyelevel for every liquid measurement, checks the temperature of every ingredient... everything. It may not seem like much, but it’s all those little cute mannerisms that make him, well, him! It’s so second-nature to him, and it’s adorable. Dorky husband...

He has a little hook of purple hairties resting next to the keypad of his lab for you. It’s the little things <3

He says emojis outloud sometimes, and it fucking annihilates you every time. 

“Babe, have you seen the new photos of Prince Phillip? He looks like a corpse being Weekend at Bernie’s’d, pensive.” “What the fuck.” 

“Hey D, can you pass me the sugar?” “No, heart emoji.” “I’m gonna attack you.” 

You’re both each other’s first kiss!! He does everything in his power to make the moment special, pouring each and every ounce of love into it.  

He loves braiding your hair before you go to bed. It’s really relaxing to feel him card through your hair, delicately pulling the strands into shape. 

I hope you like EDM, because he fucking blares it when he’s really deep into the creative process. He’ll wear headphones if you ask, but even then, you can hear the beat through the fabric and foam. (He’s been on a huge darksynth kick recently, but he pulls from a lot of electric genres.) 

Neck and collarbone kisses are his favorite. 

It’s fun to sit in his lap while he drafts the blueprints for his latest invention. He’ll always have one hand around you, perhaps around your waist or on your thighs, with the other one sketching. Every now and then he’ll place a kiss to your shoulder or neck, depending on what he’s able to reach at the moment. 

Another one of his favorite ways to spend time with you? He likes to hold you while you sit in between his legs, resting your back against his plastron. You’ll read together in silence, just happy to spend such a peaceful moment together. (It’s funny because you’re always the one holding the book. He reads really fast, and quite frankly, he’s very prone to skimming without realizing it. So, you’re usually the one in charge of holding the book and turning the pages. One time you just stayed on one page for as long as you could, and ten minutes later he realized that you were fucking with him.)

Ari and Rei was standing before Sofía's door, both kinda annoyed by their big sister's behaviour by now.

- Don't be ridiculous! It's been almost a week! - said Rei and pounded her fist on Sofía's door... again. For the fourth time. - You can't still be mad at us! - no answer came. Rei threw her head back and frowned. - Ugh, Sof, you haven't made anything sweet since monday! If I don't have some cake soon, I might die! Do you want me to die, woman?! - Ari giggled at Rei's sudden selfish outburst. She shood her sister away so she could get to the door.

- Come on, cariña, you love salvaging! And now we can do it in our own home! We don't even have to go out! - said Ari and tapped the door with her fingertips lightly. - Por favor guapa....

- Cut the spanish crap, boo, it won't work! - interrupted Sofi. - You snake-ass bitches shut me up ON PURPOSE, AND you broke the laws of our Sister Code. Which YOU TWO CAME UP WITH, BY THE WAY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS IT'S FUCKING IMPORTANT!!! - Ari breathed out like a horse and leaned against the wall. - Hello Bug. - the demon did a little half cartwheel in the air, then put his feet down on the ground. He pointed at Sofía's door with his thumb.

- How's it going with the little Drama Queen? She still won't come down from her tower?

- She can't be real dude. - said Rei with a sigh while rubbing the bridge of her nose.

- Sorry for this taking so long. - commented Ari with a light smile. She then turned towards the door and shouted: - SOMEONE'S PEOPLE SKILLS ARE A BIT RUSTY. - Beej leaned back towards the wall on the opposite side of the hallway. He shrugged with a handsign.

- No probs. - he rubbed his palms together. - This gives me a lot more time to fantasize, cause, hey, let's just look at you pretty girls, being all dolled up for me. - he said as he paced up and down on Ari and Rei. Ari wore a light purple dungaree with little bats all over it, a black cropped tshirt and a sparkly bat-shaped leather choker. Her nails were dark purple on both her toes and her hands. Half of her messy brown hair was let loose, the other half was put in a high ponytail on the top of her head with a black sparkly ribbon. Rei had a cropped, oversized, black Harley Davidson shirt on with a pair of cut-out jeans and black fishnets. Her copper-colored hair was free. They both crossed their arms before their chests and did an annoyed little frown. Beej stepped closer to them, held both their chins and lifted their faces up lightly. He summoned two more hands and with one, he caressed Ari's face, while with the other he pulled a lock of red hair out of Rei's face. - I was feeling a little off today, but you've turned me on again! - he released a kinda animalistic, guttural growl out while he pulled the girls a bit closer to him. Then with a lowered voice, he naughtily giggled. Ari tried so hard to tell herself that his gravelly, kinda smokey voice didn't make her knees tremble, but gosh she couldn't do anything about it. Being turned on by a fuckin corpse was so unnatural and was wrong on so many levels but... Gods what could this voice do with me if he whispered something into my ear while being on top of me. - I can't wait to have my own little private space and beat off to the thought of you, babies. - aaaand that snapped Ari out of fantasizing. She pulled her upper lip.

- Ew. - she commented as she shoved Beetlejuice away. He was laughing so hard his hair lit up. He made his extra hands disappear and stack his tongue out at Ari.

- Ya nasty. - said Rei with a pointing finger held up. Beej stack his tongue out at her too. Ari turned to her sister and shrugged with her hands held up.

- Nah he's just a man. - Beej hissed with his snakelike tongue still out and crossed his arms before his chest. Rei turned to Ari as if she haven't seen the demon at all.

- Is he though? When we last asked he said he has mischief in his pants not... - she held her little finger up and wiggled it. Ari burst out with laughter and had to hold her mouth so she wouldn't spit on her sister. Beej raised an eyebrow and bit his lower lip while smiling. He reached for his belt buckle.

- Well, you can check if you want...

The thing that stopped him from removing his pants was Sofía's shouting from the other side of the door.

- Oh that fuckin demon with the attitude problem is there to help you too?!? - BJ sighed as he started redoing his belt.

- Hey, I only called you a melodramatic bitch yesterday cause you're acting like one! - he shook his index finger towards the door. Then shrugged. - And, by the way, I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

- Plus, he's nice. - commented Ari while looking at the door. Beetlejuice's hair turned into a light pink and neon green mess. He raised his shoulders up to his ears, put his hands in his trousers's pockets, put his weight from one leg to the other and smiled widely. Cute little wrinkles and holes appeared on his chubby face as he did so.

- Awwww, thanks, babes!

- No, he's not! - interrupted Sofi. - You guys forget that even though he does nice things like saving us from burglars and letting us rummage through the stuff in the attic before he makes the stuff we don't need disappear, he's still a demon! A FUCKIN DEMON!!! What if one day he gets bored and hurts us?! - the sisters looked at each other with a certain look. Maybe what she said was somewhat true...

Even though Beetlejuice didn't really understand human emotions yet (Rei told him the other day that it was like living with Sheldon Cooper, even though Beetlejuice didn't have the slightest idea of who that was), he did know what that look meant. The girls had second thoughts. He already realized that Sofía was the most serious one of the sisters, and that she could easily plant ideas into their heads. I can't let her fuck me off by the side of my new BFFFF... I should scare her. That will do the trick. He cleared his throat and held the girls' shoulders. He pulled them away from the door and made a little "I'll handle this" gesture with his hands. He quickly reajusted his thoughts and found his ground, so after a quick second he let a devilish, nasty smile find its way to his face. He stepped closer to the door and held both sides of the doorframe.

- Oh honey, if I wanted to hurt anyone here... - he said in a honeyed tone, then put his head through the door. - ...I would have already done so. - the last part sounded like it came from every possible direction, and had a weird smokey effect to it. His voice also dropped a couple octaves. Ari could hear in his voice that Beetlejuice was flashing an evil smile at her sister.

The girls heard Sofía growl and by the huffing, grab something heavy. Beetlejuice all of a sudden pulled his head out of the door just a nanosecond before something crashed against the door. Beej pulled the side of his lips and closed one of his eyes.

- That was an old camera. - Rei took her glasses off and rubbed her temples.

- Dwight you ignorant slut... - BJ threw his head back and growled. Okay time for Plan B. Being nice. Ew.

- Ugh, it's so tragic that someone this sexy as me has to go through this much to have some little privacy! - he growled then sighed and held the doorframe again. He took a deep breath and put his head through the door again.

- Look, Sofía, honey... No STOP, STOP, PUT THE CHAIR DOWN! - the girls heard Beej stop shouting for a second, then breathe out with a little "whew". - Good girl. Okay, see sweetcheeks, the easiest way to get into the attic without a key is to break the door in. - he said in a legitimately sweet tone. He let go of the doorframe and with a little whirl of a hand, a huge axe appeared in his right hand. He put it through the door. - And I'd gladly give this tiny fella to you so you could let some steam outofya.

Beetlejuice stepped back from the door, axe still in his hand. The door creaked and opened up. Sofía was still holding the door handle, a lock of her fluffy hair dangling before her eyes while the rest was pulled together with a tealblue scrunchie. She had comfy kneehigh jeans and a tealblue top with the picture of a maneating siren on. Her nails were mirrorlike and sharp. She huffed the lock out, then stepped closer to the demon and grabbed the axe out of his hand. He answered with a huge shiteating grin. Since Sofía was way taller than Beetlejuice, she easily rose above him and pushed her index finger into his chest. She wrinkled her brows.

- That's a good idea. But I'm still mad at you. - she turned around and pointed at her sisters. - All 3 of you. - Ari rolled her eyes.

- I'll make you the strawberry dress in lavender. - she said. Sofía let her finger down.

- ...kay I'm not that mad anymore. - Rei growled and rolled her eyes with her head thrown back.

- Sof, bloody hell, why are you the way that you are?

The door to the attic was at the end of the hallway, with a couple stairs leading up to it. Beetlejuice floated through the door, saying he's not comfortable next to Sofía while she's holding an axe so he would wait on the other side of the red door. Rei and Ari stopped a few steps behind Sof as well.

Sofía brandished the axe and cut into the door. The wood cracked and a part of the door broke in. The girl swinged the axe again and again, then looked through the hole she created and she shouted:

- HEEERE'S JOHNNY!

The girls woo-hood and smiled at their sister's horror movie reference. Sofía cut into the door a couple times more, creating a hole big enough for them to go through. She put the axe down and stepped into the attic.

The attic was kind of big, but it was full of boxes and random stuff. The 2 windows on the right side of the room were barely visible by the boxes shoved before them. The walls had wooden paneling on them, but that was barely visible because of the shelves as well. The floor had a couple old, hole filled carpets scattered around. And everything was dusty. Not just simply dusty, everything had at least 10 centimeters of dust on it. Mountains of dirt, one might say.

- Wow, it's like nobody came in here since... I dunno, the 90's. - said Rei as she peaked her head through the door. When all 3 of them were in the room, Beetlejuice put his feet down on the ground and unfolded his hands.

- Welcome to my humble hideaway! - he said dramatically, then clapped over his head and the lights turned up. He took a step towards the girls and with that, his shoes got tangled up in a hole in a carpet and he fell back with a loud thud. His fall filled the air with dust particles. The girls all coughed. Sofía looked at Beej and between two coughs, she said:

- I didn't know a bloody demon could be clumsy too.

- The fuck you mean. - answered BJ, still laying on the floor, looking at the ceiling.

- That you fell over.

- I did not! - he said, holding his middle finger up. - I attacked the floor! - Sofía stepped closer with hands folded across her chest and a disbelieving smile.

- ...backwards? - Beetlejuice thought for a minute then a legit lightbulb appeared above his head for a slight second. He pulled a smug grin, fingergunned and winked at the oldest sister.

- I'm skilled.

Sofía rolled her eyes, waved her hand and stepped aside to take a look inside the nearest box. Ari stepped next to Beej and offered him a hand.

- Come now Mister Skilled, you're dirty enough, you don't need to roll around in the dirt as well. - Beetlejuice grabbed her hand and tilted his head sideways. Then flashed an evil, smutty grin. Uh-oh. Ari knew what that smile meant.

Beetlejuice all of a sudden pulled Ari down. As soon as the girl fell on his chest, the demon quickly turned them around so Ari would be on her back and he could be right on top of her. Beetlejuice pinned Ari's hands to the ground above her head with a hand and with the other, he held her chin playfully. His green hair had some magenta streaks in it. Ari's heart was racing. Her demon buddy was basically lying on her, and the coldness radiating from his body made Ari tingle. Shit, I was fantasizing about this scenario... Oh wow that's a big dick even without an erection... NO ARI THAT'S WRONG. STOP IT. You might be horny, you slut, I get it, we didn't have any proper action in a year or so, but he's your best friend... Your pervy, always horny best friend who literally just told you, 5 minutes ago, that he's gonna jerk off while picturing you naked... But he's still your very dead best friend, which you haven't had in a long time. That's a point you should consider too... But that devilish smile... And his weight, pushing my body down...

- What you say we get you dirty as well, doll? - whispered Beetlejuice in a definitely horny tone. Ari tried to say something but no words came out of her mouth. Beetlejuice let out a guttural, small laugh... and was instantly stopped by a book hitting his head.

Rei had a couple books in her hands, and was ready to throw another at the demon. She had determination in her eyes. Beetlejuice let Ari's hands go and sat back on her belly to stick his tongue out at Rei. Ari saw the opportunity and immediately started tickling BJ's sides. He fell over, laughing his ass off, screaming at Ari to stop 'cause he's ticklish. A couple neon green, glowing tears rolled off his cheeks. He tried to push Ari away, who only got more dedicated to tickling her undead bestie to his second death by seeing the tears and hearing his screams. Rei facepalmed and growled.

- GET A ROOM, YA TWO! - she shouted. Beej was finally able to grab Ari's hands and stop her. He flashed a devilish smile as his hair turned neon green completely and he summoned 2 extra limbs to tickle Ari back. But as soon as he reached for the girl's uncovered sides (her croptop left her sides naked), her eyes flinched and she pulled her legs to her chest. Beetlejuice saw the uncomfortability in her eyes instantly. He quickly let go and jumped to his feet. Even though he was a demon, a kind of pain in the ass, he didn't want to scare Ari. Not like this, at least. A good old jumpscare is fine, but scarring your best friend is a douchebag move. He knew, he was still kinda pissed at his last best friend-o for literally scarring him.

Plus, Rei made him promise that he'll be a nice emotional support demon boy.

- Am I overstepping my boundaries? - Ari kinda shook her head but Beej raised an eyebrow at her. To which Ari sighed. She did the "más o menos" handsign. Beej offered her a hand. - Alright, no belly touching thingie then. Imma keep my hands to myself, sugar. - he pulled Ari to her feet, but before letting her hand go, he pulled her closer with a smutty grin. - At least for now. - Ari playfully scruffed BJ's hair with a giggle and pushed him away.

The weird and unusual group quickly got to work. They made some space on the floor and put several boxes down. Of course, Beetlejuice didn't help (lazy bum), he was just floating around and made quirky and pervy comments. And made the girls laugh. God that made him feel all tingly inside. A couple strikes in his hair even turned orange, he was so proud of himself, because, you know, being scared of is one thing but making someone laugh their asses off is even better.

The girls got little pillows to sit on from the living room. On their way back up their pets accompanied them. As soon as Minerva spotted a box, she ran straight past the demon she hated oh so much and jumped into her new favorite resting place on earth. She got comfortable very quickly and fell asleep while purring loudly. Sirius sniffed around the place. The black dog quickly turned brownish grey as he went through the attic. Rei shook her head and established that during the afternoon Sirius will take a bath, doesn't matter if he'd like that or not. Ari snorted when Beetlejuice flinched and made a disgusted face at the idea of a bath.

As soon as the sisters sat down into a cozy little circle on the floor, BJ snapped, disappeared, then a couple seconds later reappeared with a green puff of smoke next to Ari. He was holding a bunch of sweets and snacks, like gummy worms, Sugus, a bag of Boca Bits, Lay's Gourmets and Reese's packs. He sat down sideways next to his friendo with outstretched legs, then layed down and put his head in Ari's lap.

Ari was always a very touchy-feely, passionate, sentimental person. She never thought much of hugs, kisses, sweet embraces or just genuinely touching someone; these actions felt nice and natural for her. She turned out to be like this because of two reasons: one, she grew up in a household where hugs and words of affection were constant. Two, spaniards are naturally passionate and rather handsy. It's basically embedded in their heritage. Although, as one might guess, for a short period of time she was nothing like this. She got uncomfortable when someone wanted to touch her abdomen or sides while hugging, she couldn't let anyone near her in an intimate way and such tings. She hated that period of time in her life, but she considered herself lucky that she had help when she needed it, and slowly but surely she could return to her old self. She still had some issues, but she was working on them.

So knowing how she was, she didn't think much of BJ snuggling up to her; she already got used to how touch-starved her new undead best friend was. She also noticed that he was basically addicted to body heat. Anytime Ari hugged him - which, he honestly still didn't really understand why she did - at first he was startled, he didn't know what to do, he was just standing in one place and didn't move at all, but as soon as the girl tried to let him go he quickly wrapped a couple arms around her and held her close for long long minutes. He really liked that Ari didn't wear any shoes in the house, so he was even taller than her then normally. This way he could rest his chin upon her head... And smell her. I know. Creepy. Ari didn't notice though. What she did notice was his stench and how he almost choked her to death yesterday when he got too wound up in their hug. I'll make him take a bath even if he kills me, she thought.

She was telling herself that she hugged him so many times because she knew (based on the things that BJ told him about his past and mother already, even though it wasn't much) that he needed comfort and hugging did the thing... But to be honest, she hugged him and let him be all touchy-feely with her because it just felt nice. She didn't feel any discomfort when he touched her. It felt like they've known each other for ages. Plus, he was cute and soft as a plushie. And stinky. Very stinky. She pulled her nose into wrinkles.

- Bug, I adore your charm and everything, but honey if you'd be a fairy, you'd be called Stinkerbelle. - Beetlejuice looked up with glowing eyes. Literally.

- Awww thanks babe! - Ari shook her head.

- That... That was NOT a compliment. That was so not a compliment. - BJ crossed his arms before his chest and threw his stripey, forked tongue out at Ari. Ari clicked her tongue. - Come on, you ARE stinky as hell hombre! You wouldn't die by taking... - Beej stopped Ari by showing a handful of gummy worms into her mouth. She rolled her eyes and wrinkled her forehead angrily at the demon. He just smiled and threw his tongue out again.

Ari, just like her sisters, reached for a box and started going through it. They showed everything they found to each other so they could sort every little thing out: there was an empty box for stuff they needed, there was a dump for stuff they wanted to disappear, and there was an empty box for BJ. Ari reached into the box and shook her head.

- There's only a bunch of unfinished projects in here, guys. Let's see. - she lifted some very thick books out. - Books on computers... - she reached into the box again. - A "spin-your-own-yarn" kit? Home-brewed kombucha?

- Ew that most of the times tastes like an armpit. - commented Rei. Ari put everything that she lifted out on the dump and while reaching into the box again, she looked at her undead pal laying in her lap, shoving Boca Bits into his mouth.

- Tell me Beej, who left all this stuff here? I'm pretty sure it wasn't the previous owners cause, hey, they couldn't climb the stairs. - Beetlejuice shrugged.

- Adam and Babs. - he said with a full mouth. - Owners in the late eighties. Middleclass, suburban and white... A boring but very sexy couple. - Sof chuckled. Beej's bright green hair started turning a little purple. The girls already knew that purple meant sadness. He looked down at his stripey jacket and started playing with his buttons. His face turned all foggy. Literally. Ari stroked his forehead.

- What's the matter B? Did I say something wrong? - he shrugged again.

- Nothing, just... - he turned his head and looked at Rei. He started snapping, like he was trying to say something but didn't find the word. - Sugar, what's that feeling you feel when someone leaves you and you still wish for them to come back cause you... You know... What's that word? - Rei raised her eyebrows.

- Miss them? - Beej pointed at her with enthusiastic eyes and snapped again.

- YES! THAT'S THE ONE! - he looked back up at Ari, still being a little purple. - Yeah, I kinda miss them. They were fun folks... - his eyes wandered to the object Ari was holding. He gasped as his hair turned back to green, like his sadness was blown away by that black and white little object. He quickly snapped the thing out of the girl's hands. - AWWW THAT'S MY UKULELE! - he sat up and hugged the instrument. - I've been looking for this for years! - Sof smiled at the demon's genuinely happy reaction. Maybe he's not as bad as I thought...

- I didn’t know you were such a musical guy. - she said. Beej quickly snapped and reappeared before her. He pinched her cheek.

- Sweetcheeks, I'm the ghost with the most, name one thing I'm not.

- Helpful when it comes to moving boxes. - she said without hesitation. BJ rolled his eyes. Sof pushed him away by his head, which caused the demon to fall back on his backside. He threw his hands up in the air, still holding the ukulele.

- Come on, you can't blame a guy for loving to watch those sweet litle rumps of yours swingin' around! - he said, looked up at Ari and winked.

The next second, he was laying in Ari's lap again. He started tuning the ukulele while humming and gently singing.

- 🎶The Barbara you marriiiiied, she is dead and burieeed six feet below-uow-ouw... Ouw-ouw-ouw~~~🎶

- What's this song? - asked Ari as she put a fancylooking porcelain butterfly aside. Beej shrugged. He didn't even look up from the instrument.

- Oh nothing, just a little somethin'-somethin' that I can't get out of my head. - he played a couple notes on the ukulele, then did a proud little fistbump. - Yessss, works like a new one!

The girls got rid of a couple stuff, they emptied like a box when Rei called out to Beej.

- Hey, scruffyhead, could you play something for us? - an enthusiastic, shy light glistened through the demon's eyes. He tried to cover his happiness with a macho shrug.

- Sure, why not. - he sat up from Ari's lap and positioned himself in criss-cross-applesauce while leaning against Ari's shoulder. - Here goes nothin'. - he cleared his throat and started singing while playing his little instrument. - 🎶You're...🎶 - the girls all got wide-eyed at the clear voice that left the demon's lips. It even sounded somewhat humanlike? - 🎶You're gonna be fiiine... On the other siiiide...🎶 DIE! - he shouted suddenly in his normal, gravelly voice. - YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE! - he pointed at the girls with the neck of his ukulele. Gosh he seemed crazy. - YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE! 🎶I'll...🎶 - he changed back to the sing-song voice again, leaving a comedic impression behind, making Ari and Sofía cackle. - 🎶I'll be your guiiiide... To the other siiiiiide...🎶

- AWMYGOSH YOU HAVE A LITTLE BEERGUT! - interrupted Rei. She cupped her face with her hands, awed at her discovery.

- Wah... - said the demon while pulling one side of his upper lip into a grimace. Rei clapped little claps.

- I knew my eyes weren't lying! You have a dadbod! That's so sweet! Your beergut is so cute! - Beetlejuice quickly stood up with arms crossed before his chest, angry red streaks appearing in his greenish-purpleish hair.

- Shut the fuck up, I don't have a beer gut. - he said and held a finger up at Rei. Ari smiled at how sassy he looked. - I have a protective covering for my rock hard abs. - Ari still smiled but something started bugging her. Her friend kind of looked... Wounded? Self-conscious? - Plus, I look pretty fuckin good for a dead bitch, just so you know. - and with that last sentence it was clear for her. Not just the tone, his hair told on him as well. It had an angry red glow to it, but it was mostly purple and blue, just like his stubble. She guessed it might meant that Rei touched a sensitive subject. The girl tugged on the demon's pants, which made him look down. His eyes told Ari she was right. She flashed a humble smile at the demon.

- You really do, Mr. Devilishly Handsome. - and boom, the red glow disappeared. Beetlejuice looked startled. What did she say?!?, thought BJ.

Ari took a quick glance at her sisters. They knew what that look meant. Time to make someone feel good about themselves. That's what their mothers taught them. Rei blinked at the demon with glistening eyes.

- You look very fine! - Wait what the fuck is happening., thought Beetlejuice again. His hair started to change. It got a lot lighter.

- You really do. - said Sofía without even looking up from the box she was going through. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON SERIOUSLY?!?, thought Beetlejuice, now kinda panicking. A light pink streak appeared in his hair, and his stubble almost entirely turned pink at this point. Ari cleared her throat. Sofía looked up and pointed at the demon with a light sigh. - Look homeboy, I still have second thoughts about you, but it's a fact that you're a fine specimen. And it's coming from a chick who's into girls. - Beetlejuice leaned closer to the oldest sister with a toothy grin. Of course he had to cope with humour.

- Aww so I don't have a chance with ya? - Sofía raised an eyebrow.

- I'll seriously punch you in the face bro. - the demon laughed. Hah, cringey situation avoided.

- Seriously though, we love all body types in this household. - commented Rei. - And yours is very cute and fluffy. - NOPE NOT AVERTED, TIME TO DISAPPEAR, he thought as he started making smoke. - I understand now why Ari hugs you so many times. - that startled him. And these girls made him feel so nice...

- Oh calláte... - said Ari in a tiny voice as she looked down as well. Good thing BJ haven't seen her face was red as a tomato. Rei ponted at BJ with a gasp.

- AWMYGOSH YOUR HAIR! THAT'S SO CUUUUUTE! - Beetlejuice put his hands, all 4 of them on his totally pink hair.

- S...stop... This is so embarrassing! - he cried out. - You make me cringe at this mortal human bullsh... - he couldn't finish the sentence because Ari launched herself at his neck, pulling him down to a tight awkward hug. - Wha... No! - he said in an embarassed tone right after Rei scooted over with a giggle and hugged his knees. - NO STOP! - Sofía scooted over as well and ruffled his hair in a siblinglike way. - STOP! I HATE YOU ALL!!! - he shouted while trying to get away. But there was no escape from the girls' embrace who were all laughing at the suffering, pink demon at this point.

- Shut up, you like it! - said Ari right before she placed a sloppy kiss on the demon's face. He answered only with a shy smile and a certain pink glow to his body hair.

First off he absolutely knew that Fred wasn't 100% straight he had no idea how it wasn't immediately obvious to everyone

That said Pierce literally did not give a shit who knew about his sexuality

As shitty as his whole personality was he could turn on the charm easily

His parents definitely knew but he was already a punk ass rebellious teen at the time so they have him the "be careful, don't get anyone pregnant" talk and worried from afar. If it bothered them, Pierce never knew because they made sure that he could still count on them (even though at the time Pierce didn't really talk to them much about anything)

Considering in AU canon the Emily family is alive and well in Hurricane, Utah without an Afton to be found, Charlie's dating her childhood friend Jessica at around the time the AU events are happening.

-Sammy Emily is trans and bi. Both Henry and his wife (who I know I at one point named but don't remember what it is anymore) love their two daughters to pieces.

That said I'll make a post at a later point introducing the Emily family because so far I've only officially given the design for Henry and not the rest.

In line with canon, Spring Bonnie/Springtrap can be counted as gay.

While Fred kept the shows at the diner pretty simple and straightforward, there was definitely this subtle underlying idea that Spring Bonnie and Fredbear were a content gay couple although if asked it was easy to present them as friends. At least, that was during '81-'82

However!

Fred also had Henry help him program in a special one time only song called Springtime for his and Maddie's anniversary in 1983, which was of course a love song. Fred always thought of that as being mostly for his wife, and partially as a turning point thematically for the two characters.

Henry was on board with this. They still kept it subtle, but there were clear moments where it was pretty much certain that the only way to interpret Spring Bonnie and Fredbear was as a couple. It was either so subtle that no one was bothered or Spring Bonnie's chosen voice was so ambiguously non-binary that no one thought it was odd.

Fred had plans for it to become more "canon" but never got to implement them since Spring Bonnie got damaged before he could.

Springtrap, being sentient and able to later interpret his emotions, is very confused about how he as a machine was meant to feel about this character he knew but the more sentient he becomes the more aware he is that he misses Fredbear and that he loved him. It's the cause of a lot of internal conflict for him. But he can be counted in the category of LGBT characters in the AU.

Imagine Tucker and Sam showing up and they have mild powers from their possessed days (I love power stories). Sam teaches something plant related obviously and Tucker teaches tech stuff.

Plants move unnaturally around Sam, not like Pamela controlling them but more like she's the sun. Single, she gets permission to build a greenhouse, but only the higher level students are allowed in. Nothing in there looks like what people are used to. Plus, this is Gotham, there's my many plants to begin with because of the smog, so it's noticeable when they begin to spring up if she's in the same spot for too long.

Tucker doesn't seem that odd at first, he's just really good with tech. But (to borrow from another AU), he has tattoos that almost seem to move. And, somehow, he created a code based on hieroglyphics? Tim nor anyone else who knows isn't sure how, especially since no one should be able to read those anymore. And that's without mentioning the sand and the winds that sometimes crop up.

Sam and Tucker are different, but it only gets worse when Big Brother Dan and Danny's daughter[?!] Elle show up. (Redeemed AU) At least, that's the relationship people assume, they rarely show up, but Dan substituted for Dash once, and Elle seems to stick pretty close to Danny and Sam and Tucker when she's there.

Is she supposed to be in school? No one knows, but it seems, the moment you look away, she's gone. If not fit a few things, people might think themselves crazy.

Also, has anyone ever seen Danny outside of school? Some students say yes, some say no, some say they never see any of the people from Amity out of the school, or out of Arkham for those who know about Jazz.

When Danny, and none of the others, turn into rogues?

Some people theorize they're phantoms, tied to a kind of location not a specific one. Danny and Dash and the others talk about Casper a lot, what if they're tied to schools? Jazz is clearly a good psychologist, what if she's tied to that?

The Amity Parkers' just laugh about that.

oof the pd48 scandal is extremely complicated. to condense it in a few statements: all of the girls' rankings have been rigged since the very beginning and it was rumored that they already had their end group before the show even started. it was like this for pf48 and pdx101 (group x1) which was why x1 disbanded within a month of debuting, and izone were on hiatus for like 4 months. im not the best at explaining stuff like this haha, but i think you get it. you can check out yt or search up 'pd48 scandal', a ton of articles and videos. as for new groups, nothing has been made clear yet. theyve only made instagram handles for now and appeared on variety shows haha. as for acting career, hyewon was supposed to do acting but was forced to join pd48 so maybe she'll continue acting afterwards? nothing is confirmed yet!
